Okay. >> Ste, >> we're going to take you to that car. >> Okay. Do you know there's cameras in here? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Everywhere. >> Where you're sitting. >> Yes. Yes. Mama, what's your phone number? I need to know your phone number. >> I'm just going to put you in the handcuffs and then I got into what's going on. Okay. >> What school? >> Go ahead. Let me first. What are you studying? >> These dumb employees thought their sneaky tricks would never be exposed. But evidence was everywhere. From hidden cash to stolen goods and once caught red-handed, every foolish move came with a heavy price. These are moments when dumb employees get their ass caught stealing on the job. Make sure to like and subscribe. First, let's see how the young woman never expected her actions to be discovered. On August 20th, 2024, police responded to a call from a Cracker Barrel store. They discovered that thousands of dollars had gone missing. The sophisticated plan of an employee to steal from the register was uncovered by management. Here's what happened next. >> Okay, so what's the story behind it? So, she's basically over about 3 months. just stole $2,300 worth of cash out of her. Okay. And pressing charges. Do you have those charges? We have a written statement. Okay. What is she wearing? Uh pink shirt, pink polo shirt, black uh brown girl apron. >> Pink polo shirt. >> Black, white, black bonnet on her. >> Black, white, and black. She's leaving to go home or she's just out leaving to go home. >> A witness stated they had tracked her for 3 months with losses exceeding $2,300. When they learned she was about to leave, police knew they had to act swiftly. >> Hello. >> Come with me this horse. >> Okay. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Stop. Drop what you're doing. Drop it. >> Set it down. >> Put it in my bed. >> Set it down. >> Set it down. Set it down before I knock it down. >> Sorry, my mom. >> Set it down before I knock it down. >> Grab her hand. Grab that one from her hand. >> When she was arrested, the suspect appeared annoyed and unwilling to cooperate. Officers quickly escorted her to the car. She continued to make excuses, pretending not to know why. >> Take her out to my car. We'll go run back. You're welcome. I have no idea why. So, >> you're under arrest for grand theft for stealing from Cracker Barrel. >> I haven't stole anything. I just admitted to everything. So, what is >> You're being detained pending investigation? >> I just told them everything now, sir. I'm trying to go home. >> Well, as right now, you're being detained >> for what? >> Pending an investigation. >> Yes. >> As you can see, your phone's still inside. >> Okay. Okay. I don't tr my mama. I love her and stuff like that cuz y'all do it to me. >> They're doing too much. So, we're doing our jobs. >> What job, sir? They up here and say, "I saw something that I didn't steal." >> Yeah. >> We're going to go around back. We're going to figure everything out. >> The woman kept denying she had stolen anything and portrayed herself as innocent. At that point, officers went back to meet the store manager where evidence of her elaborate scheme began to emerge. So, I got her for about $2,364. Okay. Um, here's her statement, which she refused to write down there under she didn't, but I put it that much. Here's her written statement of her admitting to taking cash. You can have that one. Um, so what she would do is a guest would walk up with the ticket. She would not scan it in the register and then she would be on her phone cash register. So she tal on her phone and then she would um end of her shift would take all the time she left throughout the day. She get the tal of it and then take out fill it. So from about May to the end of July almost $2,400. >> Okay. And do we have it u written out of all the days on how much you took on what day and this and that yada form? >> Okay. Uh can I get that printed out if possible or emailed to me? >> Yeah. So like that's the date and then that was a time that was over. That's her clock in and that was the amount that she took. Okay. >> Or that she didn't ring up and I've got a t at the bottom. Run out of video. I've got probably 12 13 14 videos on there. >> It's a one drive link. >> Yeah. >> I'll email that to you and I'll put the player on there too. So it's all just loaded up. >> Okay. >> The manager exposed her scheme. Unscanned receipts, phone tallies, and pocketed cash. Yet, instead of admitting the truth, she insisted on calling her mom and blamed others for making things up. >> Okay. So, again, you're being detained, pending an investigation. Be Alec, I'm telling you. >> Would I be able to come home tonight? >> Can I tell you what's going on? I have no idea what's going on. Okay. >> Brian, I'm trying to talk to my mom and he up here being difficult. >> Okay. So, again, >> I'm in here. I could at least have my phone while I'm in here. I'm not doing anything. I'm trying to talk to my mother >> and I was playing with this cuz I'm bored. Okay. What's going I'm trying to see what's going on. Sir, >> again, there's >> What is her being detained for? I just told him everything I needed to know. >> Lying on me said I stole this type of money when I didn't steal no money. >> Just like they said they said I stole merchandise is when I'll be paying for the merchandise. I don't I don't understand them jobs, bro. I really don't understand this job. I'm the sweetest person, bro. I don't do that type of job. just pissed me off. I just want to go home. >> In the end, she was formally charged with felony grand theft for stealing more than $2,300 from Cracker Barrel. She faced up to 5 years in prison, heavy fines, and a permanent ban from the company's stores. From counting stolen cash to begging for her mom, this thief proved one thing. Lies don't erase evidence, and the law always gets the last word. And now, let's meet this extremely deceitful woman. You're putting your personal money >> into their cash registers, >> a smaller bill, >> and you're taking money out of their cash register, >> the cash. >> On October 17th, 2024, deputies received a call from a car dealership after discovering that employee Nikira Sims had taken money from the register. During questioning, police realized this suspect was not as simple as they first thought. >> All right, so my name's Officer Navaro with the Leisburg Police Department. Officer Gazinski, do you have any idea why we're here? >> No. No. Okay. Do you know there's cameras in here? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Everywhere. >> I know. >> Where you're sitting? >> Yes. >> Where you work? >> I know. Everywhere. >> Okay. So, you have nothing to say. >> All right. So, get up. Put your hand my hair back. >> For what? >> I'm not going to ask again. >> Mom, what's your phone number? They're talking about put my hand >> to 49. I'll call you right back. >> Yes. Mom, what's your phone number? I need to know your phone number. I don't >> You're going to be able to get your phone in a second. >> Okay. He said I'll be able to get my phone in a second. >> Yeah. I'm just going to call 49 real quick. >> Oh, you can't be on your way, Mom, cuz I don't know what's going on. >> Actually, you can take a CS, ma'am. >> Okay. >> The woman was handcuffed on the spot after deputies revealed the real reason behind her situation. And it wasn't just about taking money >> over here. So, there's camera footage here of you taking money out of this backpack, putting it into a cash register, and then taking money out of that cash register and putting it into this bag. >> Getting changed yesterday when I got changed >> out of your personal bag. >> Yes. Getting changed. But I've done that before. >> $260 of change. >> I was getting change for 100. Okay. I'm just asking. >> And I had Yes. I got change yesterday. >> Okay. Is there any reason why those bills then? So you you're saying you received that in a transaction? >> No, I got money from my brother. So my brother, me and my brother, we were staying together. Okay. >> He ended up leaving. >> So it's your personal money. >> Yes. >> So you think you can get bring your personal money and take it out with Nissan's money? >> Getting change. >> Yeah. Yeah. That's what that's the same thing. you you're you're putting your personal money >> into their cash registers >> for smaller bills >> and you're taking money out of their cash register >> to the cashers yesterday. >> Who so you're saying you got approval for this? >> Yes. From who? >> I was like, "Hey, do you guys have change?" And they were like, "Um, you can get it out of there." >> I'm just asking who gave you approval to do this. >> I spoke with Angie and Angie and Jackie, they were in there and I asked them for change. And they were like, "Oh, no. We don't have any change, but you can get it out of there." Would there be any reason why she would have permission to do this? >> The woman thought she was just swapping her cash for smaller bills. But in reality, that exchange turned real money into counterfeit, >> guys. Okay. Okay. Well, the bills are counterfeit. So, the bills are not real. Technically, you know that >> that's not technically you stole $260 from Nissan. You put fake bills into their cash register, sir. >> No, they were fake. It was just money that my brother gave me. I'm like, okay. Listen, I I understand all that, but let's be real. Doing that is no, that's not even reasonable. No, no, no. Doing the whole I'm getting changed from my from my from Nissan's cash register to make my own like, I think you're old enough to know that doesn't even make sense. Like, you shouldn't even be doing that at all. Wherever. This is your place of employment. This isn't your bank. So, this isn't a place for you to be doing those transactions. Especially when I mean, I saw the video, so it's not like, and you can say what you want, but I saw you on video doing exactly that. All right. >> Everything became undeniable when the Bills tested counterfeit and further checks revealed she already had a prior theft conviction earlier that same year. That was the moment deputies decided to take her away immediately. In the end, Nikira Leah Renee Sims was charged with felony possession of more than 10 counterfeit bills and misdemeanor petty theft under $750 and was formerally trespassed from the Jenkins Nissan dealership. This case reminds us deceit always backfires. Nikkira's counterfeit scheme and past crimes caught up with her, proving no one escapes the law. Next, will her tragic story be enough to escape the law? >> Yeah, she drops it there. She's going to pick it up again and fold it. >> Okay. So, that money you were using to donate towards your father's cremation. >> January 13th, Home Depot calls police. A cashier's dishonesty caused massive losses. The investigation revealed shocking truths. Here's how officers dealt with her. >> Been working with us for 3 months and over 3 month period, she would go into the register, just take cash out of the register. We have it on video. We have documented 17 right now. So once they terminate her, I'm going to bring it to you so you do over the 3 month period. We have from 11921 175522. He's got it all on a thumb drive for you all documented. Here's basically synopsis of what led to the original confirmed problem was Christmas hit and during Christmas. So we stopped the investigation of Christmas, but he continued it in the store. So not everything's on this packet, but it's on his thumb drive and paperwork that he has. Okay. >> The manager quickly revealed that a cashier only 3 months on the job had been stealing cash from the register. With paperwork, proof, and 17 incidents caught on video, the following footage shows her foolish acts. >> She's gonna leave one right here >> and fold it with her fingers. [Music] >> Are you locked in or out? >> You're still in. Okay. >> Just give a few seconds. >> See how it's tucked? >> Yeah, it's tucked under. Yeah. >> She drops it there. She's going to pick it up again. Fold it. >> She pinched it. >> Yeah. Yeah, I see it. Yeah. >> She's quick. That's why I asked her when I was interviewing. I'm like, "Where were you before here?" >> Because like she did it before. Did she have any prior? >> Um, no. She doesn't have uh really any history. So, it's, you know, >> she caught on quick. That's the scary thing. Like, she was like, she caught on with the system. >> She goes in and right in her pocket. Oh, yeah. Can't see it. >> There you go. Folded one right there and tucked it into her palm. >> That one you could still see the tip of the money sticking out in her hand, too. >> Yeah. Yeah, you can see it. Yeah, it's like separated from the rest. >> She's very cooperative, wasn't she? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> She's very wellmannered, too. >> Yeah. >> She was ready to go. >> She's smart. She's smart, too. She puts that. >> So, she's still got it in >> still got it in her palm. >> Yeah. >> And then right in her pocket. >> Detailed evidence showed her swiftly hiding cash in her apron or pockets during every shift. Shockingly, she kept repeating it until the losses reached thousands of dollars. This is what she admitted when the manager caught her red-handed. >> During my conversation with um we asked what transpired and what actions she took. She acknowledged both written and verbal that she would um open the register doing cash strip voids, remove funds from the register and conceal them in her apron or in her pocket. She stated the reason she did that is she had a family member that passed away and that she had to help them pay for some funds. When asked how much she took, she stated she thought approximately $5,000. However, documented on paper was just shy of $1,800, which we have CCTV and documentated uh document documented reports of >> Okay. Um and she was hired just as a standard cashier. >> She's a part-time cashier. >> Okay. All right. Um anything else? >> She's been with us about 3 months and per her self admission, she's been doing it since she's been with us. >> It was clear this wasn't a spur-of the- moment act, but deliberate. She had been stealing since the day she was hired, and surely this wasn't her first time. Police continued questioning the suspect. Let's see what excuse she gave. >> So, can you tell me what happened? What's going on? >> Like, when I like I've been he said I've been working here 3 months, I guess, cuz I came in November, right? >> Like when I just work like I was just taking the funds just so I could like do my granddad for his cremation. >> So, you took this job for your for who? No, like I was work like it's just working but no like with this it's like I was taking the funds out of my grandfather's cremation. >> So your father's cremation right there? >> Yeah, my grand >> What do you mean you were taking funds? Uh what do you mean? >> Like the money from the registers? >> All right. The money that you were stealing from the register. Okay. So that money you were using to donate towards your father's cremation. She claimed it was for family hardship, saying the money went toward her grandfather's funeral expenses as a so-called contribution. Unbelievably, she even bragged about her tricks to skim cash without the slightest sign of worry. >> Yeah. Did the register. How would you do this exactly? >> Like it was like we got to like the register say do like a cash strip and just like fold >> cash drop. >> Yeah, you can say cash drop. See >> or strip? You said strip. Okay. >> Okay. And so what does a cash strip mean? It's like it's like when the registers like you have to they only can have a certain amount in the register. So like if you have like $1,000 you have to drop five. Well it normally be more than 1,000 but it'll tell you how much you have to drop. So we like it's like hundreds 50s then 20s 10 fives ones and like change. You shouldn't have nothing in your hundreds and 50s spot. You should only have 20s 10 fives and ones. >> Oh okay. >> Yeah. >> And so when you have uh excess money in your in your register you have to do a strip. We just have to like send it up to the office or I don't know what we >> So what would happen normally if you know um you weren't stealing the money but you know you you understood that there you needed to do a strip on your register. Who would take the money? >> Nobody. We have to put it in like like if it's like this shift daytime you just put it in like a a bottle and you send it up. But if you do night shift you have to just keep it under the register. >> Oh okay. All right. So they have like a specific means for collecting the money and then but it's not to go like in your pocket or something. Okay. All right. And so what what's usually the amount that it requires you to do a strip or is there any amount? >> No, that's not no amount. So like how muchever 20 like how much hundreds and 50s you just put in. So if you got like 1000s, you'll put 1000s. If you got 350s, you'll put 350s and a computer calculate it out by itself. >> Okay. All right. And so but you were just stripping the the register but then you not sending it up. You just >> like I was like like I'll just take a hundred and then I'll send the rest. I guess it is. >> During questioning, she claimed to have taken $5,000, though only $1,800 was proven, even detailing her cash drop scheme. But when she begged to pay it back to avoid charges, officers made it clear things wouldn't end that easily. >> Can we go out this door? >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Turn around. >> And this way. >> Yeah. Yeah. Make it right. Um [Music] >> Oops. >> These all ones. >> Yeah. >> Are these credit cards in your name? >> What's your name? >> Jon, guys. Do you have anything in your I'm sorry. Do you have anything in your your locker that you need to pass? >> No, I never use my locker. >> Okay. All right. We got 110 105 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 5 26 $27. Any other cash? >> No. >> All right. >> In the end, the cashier was charged with grand theft of over $5,000. She now faces up to 5 years in prison, heavy fines, and a permanent criminal record. ending her short career in disgrace. Do you think this sentence is enough to deter such reckless behavior? Share your thoughts in the comments below. Now comes a case proving not every student deserves to be in school. >> Um, she never more this whole pile. >> Yes, sir. >> Do not have to pay for them. Some things were for friends. On April 23rd, 2025, Bokea Ratan police rushed to a Hollister store after reports of an employee running a shocking theft scheme. What officers uncovered inside was far beyond what anyone expected. >> Hello. So, big picture. Um, >> we have this is Marie. She um has taken some merchandise over like the past year I would say and um we've got that merchandise here. She was nice enough to bring it back to us today. Um she never more this whole pile. >> Yes, sir. So it's 26 items valued at 75070 before tax. However, it is under in each separate occasion. She never took this all like this is over an extended period of time. This is 21-year-old Marie of Val. Investigators say she smuggled out dozens of clothes, over 55 items in total. She returned 26 worth $750, but the real loss was far greater. >> She did write us a statement explaining like what happened and like the why she took it. But um there is other stuff she was unable to return which the company will not prosecute on that because we don't have the merch. In the meantime, I'm just going to have her fill out our company trespass form. So, like this is the one I was talking about for 2 years. No coming into the abocrombies or Hollisters. Um, just this out are hereby trespass from all abroad and pitch properties including a holl uh abocromian hollister for 2 years. If you agree to that, please just see. >> The store manager deeply disappointed had her sign a trespass notice banning her from ever returning. As police reviewed her statement, the seriousness of her actions forced officers to place her under arrest. >> All right, Marie, go ahead and just stand up for me. In the meantime, we're just going to put you in handcuffs and then just kind of explain to you what's going on. Okay. >> That was a lot of stuff on that list. Um, did you like keep a log of everything like when you were stealing it or >> No, it's just like >> cuz that's like a a big list of items. I know some of which like you didn't return which is fine. >> Yeah. >> Um but like it's actually like surprising that you actually remembered everything what it was cuz it's like item completely itemized. So um >> I mean before I wrote that down, we like talked about it for a bit. I've been working here for like a year and a half at this point. >> Okay. So last year around like December time >> um >> is when you started. >> Well, I guess technically 2 years ago in 2023. >> Okay. >> In August or September. >> August of 2020. >> From the list of items, officers traced back to when Marie first began. She admitted stealing from her early days, but the real shock was the secret method she used for months. >> And is that when you started stealing things from the store? When did that when was like the first thing that you with? >> Um I don't remember the first probably something like small like tank top. Um and then and I think it was like 2 months into me being hired here. >> Okay. And it says that when you were um stealing stuff, you would use like a water bottle or something. >> Yeah. >> Can you explain that? >> I have like a thermal water bottle so you can't see through it. So, I'll just like put stuff in there. >> You Oh, you would put it in the water bottle. How big is a water bottle? >> It's like a 24 oz um hydro blast. Like, it's kind of thin. >> Okay. And each time uh you Was it always that with that or were there other methods and how you things >> that or just wearing stuff under my clothes? >> Okay. Um approximately do you know how many items that you've store? >> Okay. And in total value, could you estimate how much that was? >> We estimated it out to about um 1,500. I think just 1500. >> But today you returned uh do you know how many things that you returned today? >> Yeah. About $700 something dollars worth of stuff, but $400 something dollars worth of what they can like resell again. >> Okay. Why wouldn't they be able to resell the other stuff? >> It's been worn. >> Oh, okay. understand. Um, okay. Just kind of going through your statement here. So, items like black leggings, bikini tops, white bikinis, >> swimwear. >> Swimwear. Is there any particular reason why you selling all these things? >> To not have to pay for them. Some things were for friends. >> Okay. >> A tiny water bottle could never hold 55 items at once, proving she pulled this stunt many times without being caught. It seems the store didn't release video, only a detailed log of the thefts. >> On 324, um received an anonymous tip from the ethics hotline that stock associate Maria Belace might be committing merchandise theft, but finally the details from the call. Since March 2024, Maria has been stealing clothes that fit in a water bottle at the Hollister store that located this store. Over the last year, Mary has around 500. No one at the store knows about this situation. That's all we had. >> Okay. Is that something I can get a copy of? >> You can um if you want this this case report that we have right here. >> Mhm. >> You can take it. Sure. >> So, right now, I'm just waiting for a female officer to get here cuz they got to search you. We're not allowed to. >> Okay. Um, and then uh I'll walk you out to my car. I'll try and do the paperwork and get you up there as soon as you can. That way you can get out in the morning. Okay. >> Okay. >> Uh, you said you're 21. >> Okay. >> Even more shocking is her field of study. She should have known such a foolish act would instantly destroy her future. >> You said you're in school. >> What school? >> Atlantic University. >> What are you studying? resistance. >> What do you What are you trying to do? >> Law enforcement or lawyer or >> um right now I'm thinking maybe like something with domestic. >> Okay. Look, this this ain't the end of the world, right? So, you're being charged with it, right? You go through the court process, you go through the whole ordeal. >> She admitted her last theft was just yesterday. And minutes later, a female officer arrived to search her before transporting the suspect to jail. Hi. You want to do me a favor? Just standing up. >> Yeah. >> Face that way. >> You have anything that's going to foc on the side or back? [Music] Just sit down. We're going to take the shoes off. >> That black bag is yours. >> You want it? >> Yes, please. I got you. I'll do it. leasing for the muscle. >> In the end, Maria Val, 21, was officially charged with grand theft for stealing merchandise worth thousands of dollars. She now faces up to 5 years in prison, heavy fines, and a permanent ban from the store. Marie's case is a warning to every student. Dreams and education can collapse in a moment of greed. Honor and future are never free. Every wrong choice comes with a heavy price. In the next case, watch the price paid for a moment of foolishness. >> Can you explain that? >> How many lost? I mean, I I'll pay back the money. >> I mean, did you win anything or No. >> No. On May 7th, 2025, officers rushed to a Circle K after the manager reported an employee stealing scratchoff tickets worth hundreds of dollars. But once the investigation began, the real truth slowly came to light. Excuse me. Can we come back here for a second? >> All right. So, this is in reference to the last time you >> This is about the last time you worked. >> Okay. >> From I guess 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. So, from the 5th to the 6th. >> Yes. >> All right. They are $700 short. >> What? >> It is specifically with scratchoff tickets. >> Okay. >> They have a camera that sits right over the cashier. All right. That camera very clearly shows you pulling rows. All right. Up scratch offs. and they identified it as the gold rush million for 50. And there was another one for the 500x the cash that was 50 and then another one that was 20. >> At that moment, she realized every move had been exposed. With no way out, she had no choice but to confess and reveal the reason behind her dumb act. >> You know why you took her? She's having money and I didn't want to take money on the register. >> Gotcha. So, you just been hurting on money and >> Yeah. >> did something dumb, obviously. >> All right. Do you know where those crap stops are now? >> At my house. >> They're at your house. >> I can get them. >> I mean, I'll pay for them. >> How long have you worked here? >> Okay. cuz you're still pretty new here. >> Yeah. >> Gotcha. Do you recall exactly how many it was? Like >> I I think it was um two of the 50. The first one I think it was two of each one of the 51. >> Okay. What do you do? Just put those in your pocket or in your pants or something? >> Like like I said, I just got off the drugs. I just lost my boyfriend. I'm just I'm trying to get my life together and I just I got overwhelmed. I know why I was. Go ahead. >> I'm okay. >> Truly bad. She had a job that could have given her stability. Yet, she chose recklessness and lost it all. No excuse she offered could win her sympathy or save her from the situation. >> I don't know. I just I lost my boyfriend a month ago to overdosing. I overdosed. I'm just trying to get my life together and it's like >> I should be grateful. I should really have been grateful. I decided I wasn't thinking. >> I got you. >> Did you scratch them or? >> Yeah. >> Okay. How many I lost? I mean, I I'll pay back the money. >> I mean, did you win anything or No. >> No. But like I said, I I'll pay it back. >> Were you working by yourself? Is there only one person here at night? Like that late? That sounds kind of dangerous. >> It wasn't really that bad angle. In fact, I kind of enjoyed it. But >> I'll pay you that. I've got $100 in my bank right now. I can give him an old lady. >> Okay. Well, we'll let him talk to the the guy and see what they're going to figure out and we'll go from there. Okay. >> Is there anybody home? >> Huh? >> Is there anybody home right now? >> No. Were they you to have them turn over the property? >> She's already >> Oh, you already scratched them. >> Yeah, I've already I have one that I bought myself like in a big pile. >> Gotcha. So, they wouldn't know which ones are what, >> right? >> Gotcha. All right, >> I'll hand it back. Oh, unfortunately that's not my call to make and they're going to press. >> Every ticket had already been used and though she promised to pay it back, she never explained how. But first, she would have to face the law for what she had done. >> So, unfortunately, you are going to have to walk out of here with you do try to run and the car hits you and now I'm going to lose my job. on that. >> Okay. Where's Where's that at? >> It's over. It's right on. >> Oh, the car is outside. Your purse is in the car. >> You go just check her real quick. >> Yeah. You want to do it here or outside? >> Yeah. >> You got to poke me. >> That's okay. >> Yeah, [ __ ] fine. >> All right, that's fine. We're just going to check. >> We'll just do it in here that way you know people aren't seeing you privacy. try to help you out where I can. All right. [Music] >> I mean, luckily, they're only 700, not at 750. Otherwise, it'd be a felony. So, right now, it's a misdemeanor. >> You said you have a knife in your >> I said I didn't know if I did. In the end, she was charged with grand theft of $978. Her defiance in past crimes strengthening the case. Facing up to 5 years in prison and $5,000 fines. This case reminds us that having money can't erase theft, and defiance only speeds up the road to jail. Now, let's move on to the thief who pretended to be a fool and see how quickly he escaped. His >> name was Hey. Hey. Hey. On March 8th, 2025, police were called to a local supermarket after employees reported that two suspicious men had quickly stuffed items into a cart and tried to flee. The events unfolded as follows. What's going on, man? I'm talking to you. What's going on? What's going on? >> How about Espanol? >> Espanol. >> Okay. Where's the other guy you're with? >> No, no, no, no. Where's the other guy you're with? >> Yeah. Where's the amigo you're with? >> Yeah. Yeah. Where's the amigo? >> Here's the thing. The door's locked. You're not going anywhere, right? So, we're just trying to figure out what's going on. >> Hold on. Hold on. Give us a minute. We're trying to investigate something. Don't leave. All right. We got to investigate something. All right. >> A Spanish speaking officer was called in to assist. The suspect claimed he was alone, but the truth was yet to be revealed. >> Hey, he keeps trying he keeps wanting to leave. Do I have anything to hold him on or >> Oh, he's being trespass. >> Trespass. So, >> he said that he got dropped off >> by what car? >> A truck. >> A blue truck. >> A blue truck. He kept insisting he was innocent and the lack of an ID forced the officers to keep monitoring him further. >> Trespass. Okay. verify his identity because if we can't verify his identity, we're going to have to uh verify his identity. Um got his date of birth. You got his date of birth. He's saying he feels uncomfortable that he doesn't know. He's saying that he hasn't committed a crime. He wants to leave. But >> he's committed the crime of trespassing. Tell him he's trespassing. We have to give him a warning that he can no longer be here. Okay. >> After confirming the accomplice wasn't in the store, officers told the main suspect he was trespassing, which immediately offended him. >> So, he says that uh he doesn't know his phone number. The info he gave me, his name, date of birth, and address. He says he lives. The guys who dropped him off is Juan Rodriguez, who also lives at him, lives with him. He says the the black gentleman that was in here before, he doesn't know him. He just came in here. He was going to pay for all those zeal, but now he's offended and he wants to leave and he's not going to he's not going to buy the items anymore. He's just going to leave. >> We explain to him that he >> that he's trespassed. Yeah. >> Wait, we explain to him that they've been reported by other stores and he says that he wasn't there. He's saying that he was just going to buy it with zel and he was going to he's saying he's a hard worker. Okay. So, >> where's the other? >> We still can't find him. We could do one more walk through with someone who knows this store better than us if they like [Music] >> then the manager found the other car back over here. >> Someone were standing by the door the entire time and didn't see anybody walk out. So, um but like I don't know if you want to go look at that picture on uh his screen, but I don't think it's that guy. Once again, he changed his story about the companion, but this time instead of cooperating, he chose a foolish move that escalated the situation immediately. >> It doesn't look like him. >> What did he say his name was? >> Hey. Hey. Hey. 70. He's running. We're running towards the street towards Canera. Hey people. >> Hey. Back up. Hurry. Hurry. Sorry. >> Shoulder. I >> got him. You >> got him. Super. Got you. In the end, the suspect was arrested and officially charged with obstruction, resisting arrest and providing false information. Meanwhile, his accomplice quickly escaped before officers could catch him. Was his escape attempt desperate or just foolish? Share your thoughts below. >> Oh my god. >> Oh my god. I came out to stop. >> On April 27th, 2024 in Washington State, police were called to a Safeway after a shoplifting incident. The female suspect with her child in tow tried to escape, swinging her little boy roughly in the stroller as she ran. Here is what truly happened. He's been handling this very well. >> Hi, Papa. >> Not a single tear. >> Shamelessly, the woman used her child as a shield to protect herself from the cops. This reckless behavior was a clear sign of someone not mentally stable. On top of facing theft charges, she could very well lose custody of her child. You have any weapons on you that you know about? >> No, I'm not going to jail. >> Okay. Okay. We're going to take a seat in my car. >> What are you doing? What are you doing? You're still going to sit in my car. I don't This act I don't really care for. So, >> no. Swing your feet into the car. >> I need an ambulance. >> So, what? I don't want you stealing me like this. >> Trying to clean the car, man. >> I need an ambulance. >> Ignoring her child, she appeared dizzy and weak, but the officer doubted it, recalling how fine she'd been while running moments before. They then spoke to a woman who had been caring for the child amid the chaos. >> I just seen the baby like getting tipped and like thrashed around in the stroller >> by the mother. Good job, buddy. to help. >> They were trying to stop the shop is what it was. >> They offered to give her stuff. What was she taking? >> Oh, it was a whole car. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Yeah. I'm going to take some photos real quick. >> Okay. The woman might have been too proud to accept help paying for her items, or perhaps she wasn't in the right state of mind to make rational decisions. Either way, she foolishly chose to break the law. >> All right, so right now you're under arrest for theft three and obstruction. Okay, >> let me get her name in. >> What's up, gentlemen? >> We got a kiddo in there. If you guys want to hit first and then check on mom after >> Hey, we're trying to figure out your your kid's name. What's your kid's name? Ma'am. Ma'am. Ma'am. Talking to you. Hello. [Music] >> Yeah, like I said, unfortunately, I don't think this is probably the first. >> During the ordeal, a few good Samaritans kept the child entertained, and he seemed to cope well. The cops had records of her past crimes, revealing a troubling history of putting her child in danger. Uh so during I read the Tquila report briefly. It looks like uh last year the she was brought to Valley to do the medical stuff with a shoplift incident. She had the son with her and medical staff thought they fit to uh take care of the kids. So this is a prior CPS intake number that you might be able to give them. So that way they already have the names there instead of giving them all the names. It looks like they spelled the name differently in that report. Uh and that's the report number here. Uh the child is different. >> Yeah. Is different than whatever paperwork you found. >> Okay. >> Um so uh another prior to put it this way for the other direction. >> Oh gosh. You got some cool shoes on, little dude. >> The child had already been in state custody once and it was obvious this would happen again. Her blunt admission of using fentinil sent red flags flying about the child's well-being. Not long after, she was rushed to the hospital for further treatment. >> I can't breathe. >> I can't breathe in my thigh. >> You have to get to me. It's hurting my stomach. I'm pregnant. >> I have life and I have I'm a pregnant woman and I have told you this is pressing my stomach. I don't care. It's pressing my stomach. Get off my stomach. I'm a pregnant woman. >> I know I am a pregnant woman and you have to get on top of my stomach. I have lifetime. Did you tell a hospital that? Did you tell the girl that I'm a pregnant woman? And I asked for a kid to get dead and you did not give me one. That is illegal. He didn't even read me my rander rights and neither have you guys. That is illegal. >> You want your murder right? In the end, the woman was charged with child neglect, obstruction, tampering with evidence, and possession of a controlled substance. According to Washington law, obstructing a law enforcement officer is a gross misdemeanor. A gross misdemeanor can be punished by imprisonment for up to $364 days or by a fine of not more than $5,000 or both. Now, let's move to the next case. >> Running westbound on your stomach.
