This is what happens when a Walmart store is used the wrong way. >> I don't know. >> Let's just go. >> I'm not worried about people. >> Are they out? >> I don't know. >> And it seems their loss prevention office IS NO BETTER. >> GET ON THE GROUND. CALL THE POLICE. GET ON the ground. >> And there are more cases like these. All coming up in today's video when shoplifters meet karma after terrorizing Walmart. Let's start with this woman who can be described in just two words, absolutely crazy. >> Can you come down here and talk to me? >> Walmart has always been a go-to shopping destination for many people. But strangely enough, on the 24th of January 2025, one woman chose it as the place to unleash her own kind of fun. Here is footage captured by some shoppers. >> I don't want to hear you screaming. >> 12394287273 >> Let her have the cart. Just let her have the cart. >> She clearly seems completely unstable, right? But that wasn't even the worst of it as other footage revealed even more disturbing behavior. >> I don't know. >> [laughter] >> Walmart. God, it's better than Jerry Springer. She done climbed up here and throwing things around. Okay, girl. Told y'all she was going to take her clothes off. Uh-oh, there goes them pants. Hey, Walmart. I done told y'all she was getting ready to pull them clothes >> If Walmart were a jungle, this woman would be the female version of Tarzan. By this point, deputies had arrived at the scene and the situation around her had completely fallen apart. >> Hello. Can you come Can you come down here and talk to me? Hello. Can you come down here and talk to me? Ma'am, you're under >> this. >> Here, have this. Here, have this. This one >> All right. Relax. Relax. Relax. Hey, we got to get her out of the one at a time. You send EMS for all status. Does your ankles hurt? >> Yes. >> Also, uh She's claiming ankle pain from jumping from the top of the building. Relax. Relax. Thank you. I have a blanket for you, okay? Relax. Relax. Hey, we're going to help you. Do you want TO WALK OUT? DO YOU WANT TO STRETCHER OUT THERE OR JUST HAVE EMS line here? >> And further evidence of her apparent mental instability came as she continued uttering incomprehensible words, along with language invoking her rights as a citizen. >> Do you have a a bag somewhere? Do you have a warrant? Do you have a bag? You need to calm down, okay? You're a little agitated right now. >> baby crazy. >> According to reports, the display she climbed was about 2.4 m tall and she had sustained injuries. Despite her apparent lack of concern, deputies still arranged for her to receive a medical evaluation afterward. >> Or is she still hurting? Oh God, I still HURT. I PROMISE. I'M NOT LYING. I promise I'm not lying. Arts? >> All right. >> Still doing arts? She's going to exist on earth cuz air waves know she's there. >> Do we have uh like a uh >> Is that Macy or is that Lacy or is that Acy or is that Wy? Is it that or rover sick? Crazy or that Open eight I decide. She's going to play with her with an >> I don't know who she is. >> It's so good on you. I just want to be >> You can do anything you want. >> I just want to Take it easy. >> Do you want to search trainer to the stretcher or just leave it >> Yeah, is there a way we can get her hands to touch front button? >> No one you write now. You're still >> up front and then stop for strength and >> [ __ ] you. I showed you everything. >> All right. Crazy. >> You've been here in the somewhere. She knows. She's not going no where without you. Welcome to our first baby for real. This is life. I swear life. I'm giving life for the first And she knows YOU HERE. AND YOU'RE STILL taking away from her. She broke everything. Oh my goodness. >> Walk up to the edge. >> Yeah, I appreciate you somewhere. I broke this. Oh, no. Baby, come here. Look at this. We're going to do something to you. I ain't no block. She said she was >> They are hurting her heart. >> And she knows >> boy love voice of God. >> Cuz I don't love them that >> After taking the woman away, deputies approached several witnesses at the scene, including those who had recorded footage of her chaotic behavior. These videos helped clarify what happened and provided additional evidence for the charges against her. >> See the video, if you don't mind. >> She fell right here. She grabbed me first and then I got out of the way and then she started grabbing him. But that's not the that was the worst one. And here's when she was hitting him, pushing him, and she was grabbing him and hitting him, and he was just trying to get away from her. This isn't all of it. There was more. >> Which would I be able to air drop those videos to me? Not necessarily that he's going to press charges, but just to kind of so there's a reference as to what is going on. >> Don't look at my naked picture. I'm just kidding, baby. >> So I spoke to a detective. So, um right now she's under arrest for a couple of other charges based on criminal mischief, battery on LEO, and disorderly conduct. Because we're still waiting on the video, which we will get. Um Thank you. Um the detective will follow up to try and, you know, piece everything together. And then if they can proceed, then they're going to place that charge on her as well. As of now, it's just going to be an open charge. So, um Did you indicate >> There's no witnesses and he's attacked, then nothing can be done without witnesses. >> So, because they're not unless it's like a domestic, right? It's you have to have something corroborating, so video, witnesses, or signs of injury. And and we don't have any of those three pieces. >> see him limping? >> Yeah. >> Well. >> No, he got me in the neck. >> He said he got grabbed by his throat. And I and I get that that's frustrating, but >> He said she hit herself. >> I I have to go based on so our detectives, this is their specialty, right, when it comes to this sort of stuff. I just have to go based on that at this point. And it doesn't mean that, hey, nothing's going to happen. It just means right this second those charges aren't going to be placed. >> In the end, Charlotte was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and battery on a person 65 years of age or older. Behind the chaos, her actions led to serious legal consequences, from damaging property to assaulting others. No matter the circumstances, losing control and harming those around you does not excuse you from taking responsibility for your actions. But chaos can erupt not only in the store, but even in the LOSS PREVENTION OFFICE. >> STOP. >> NO. >> [screaming] >> STOP. >> NO. >> ON THE 16TH OF MARCH 2024, a woman was detained in the loss prevention office for an investigation into suspected shoplifting. However, the police had no idea that things would soon escalate far beyond an ordinary theft. Here's what happened at the beginning of that day. >> She tried to push out. We're getting the trainer security right now. >> Okay. Do you have your ID on you? >> I don't have my ID. I do not >> What's your first name? >> [music] >> K A L L I E >> K A L L I E >> Yes. >> C I E >> What's your date of birth? >> 1 31 92 >> Okay, I got a name date of birth for you. It is first name Callie, last name I'll just spell it for you. Charlie India Foxtrot 1 31 1992. White female. Do you know how much the total is? >> Not yet. How much more is there? >> Surely loss prevention will provide the total, which will immediately change the climate of the room. >> Do you watch these all the time? Do you watch these all the time? >> Watch what? >> These. >> Sometimes. >> This one lady has not scanned one thing, has put a bunch in her bag. The one in the red right there. >> Oh yeah, she's she's doing spark. >> Okay. Okay. I wouldn't be able to tell between. >> Cuz like in reality they could just grab whatever they want and load up. >> Do you know if it's over 750? >> Is it over 750? 1,300. >> Okay. Go ahead and stand up. You're going with me. They want charges pressed and it's over 750, which makes it a felony. >> Yeah, it's two tickets. >> Go and stand up. Come on. I'm sorry. Well, you're going to have to. >> With the evidence and the employees' statements, the woman was likely to face charges, especially with the merchandise valued at $1,300, well above the felony threshold. But, she refused to accept it, causing the situation to escalate. >> Do not fight me. I will taze you if you do not stop. Turn around. Woman. Would you like me to taze you? Get up and turn around. Then turn around. >> [screaming] >> Turn around. STOP. >> [screaming] >> PLEASE STOP. I HAVE SEIZURES. I CAN'T STOP. IT'S LIKE YOU'RE DOING THIS TO YOURSELF. >> I can't. I can't. I can't. >> [laughter] >> I CAN'T. I CAN'T. >> [screaming] >> WHY ARE YOU SAYING I CAN'T? >> BECAUSE YOU KNOW WHY I CAN'T. I KNOW WHY YOU CAN'T. I CAN'T. >> [screaming and crying] >> I CAN'T. >> WOULD YOU LIKE TO TALK TO ME? >> I CAN'T. >> [laughter] >> I CAN'T. >> YOU can't settle down? >> I can't. >> She was both resisting and pleading, but this was certainly not going to help her escape the charges. Instead, she was only making things worse for herself. It almost seemed like she saw this as a fight she had to win. >> I'm in Walmart. I can't. No, I can't. I can't. I can't. I can't. I CAN'T STOP. >> I'M GOING TO CALL FOR ME. HOW LONG IS IT THEY WERE IN THE AISLE? >> I'VE tased her twice. >> Backup officers arrived at the scene, and it seemed the arrest would become easier. However, her chaotic behavior only continued to escalate. >> I CAN'T. I CAN'T. I CAN'T. >> SIT YOUR [ __ ] ASS DOWN, YOU [ __ ] GIVE ME THE CUFFS. >> THEY'RE OVER THERE. >> STOP. STOP. WHERE ARE YOUR CUFFS? COME ON. >> [screaming] [screaming] [screaming] [screaming] >> I WILL TAZE YOU IF YOU DON'T PUT YOUR HAND BEHIND YOUR BACK. PUT YOUR HAND BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> LOOK, YOU'RE GOING TO GET TAZED IF YOU DON'T PUT YOUR HAND BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> PUT YOUR HAND BEHIND YOUR BACK. I WILL TAZE YOU AGAIN. SHE ACTS LIKE SHE HAS SEIZURES. She hasn't once had a seizure this whole time. >> The woman seemed to have accepted her fate and calmed down a little. She blamed her shoplifting on financial hardship, but that did little to convince the [music] officers. >> So many resources you can go to that can give you food and stuff like that for your family. I don't know what was in your buggy, but for $1,300 worth of stuff is a lot. Okay, there are organizations that can help you with that. And this isn't your first time cuz they have multiple times in the main Gainesville. A pictures of you doing the same thing. >> I'm I got 10 times so I my head seizures and all. >> Seizures don't make you steal. >> She has a cut here. I think that's from hitting her head. >> You want Here, I'll let you in. >> Hey. >> She says she has headaches had a seizure. But the whole time we're fighting she never had a seizure so she's faking it. I'll go with her at the hospital. I've already told her that. She She climbed up the wall. >> What, three times? >> Yes. >> Three times before I arrived or twice before my arrival or >> Two It was two connections. The third time once the middle time it seemed weird. >> We're going to put a little thing on your finger and know you're in kind of an uncomfortable position. >> want? >> In the end the 33-year-old woman was charged with felony shoplifting and resisting arrest. Shoplifting can carry far more serious consequences when the value of the stolen merchandise crosses the felony threshold. Resisting arrest only makes an already difficult situation worse, turning a theft investigation into an even more serious legal matter. Next, this woman injures an officer simply because her prescription was denied. >> Hey. >> On February [snorts] 10th, a 40-year-old woman named Tiffany Williams caused Walmart pharmacy employees to call an officer after she became furious when her prescription was denied due to an insurance issue. But, when the officer arrived, things only continued to escalate. >> So, the pharmacist they want you to leave. So, we can't have you >> Hey. Turn around. >> You better get yourself first. >> He's touching me. He's touching me. He just grabbed me. He just touched my breast. >> Ma'am, get her off. >> Trying to get my medication. They won't give me a >> Media 10-70. >> It's my stupid You know I'm a member of the police. I'm calming down, but you're fired. By the way, you're fired. You are fired. You are fired. >> Roll over on your >> She could have simply walked away peacefully instead of ending up in this situation, and now she's being taken to the loss prevention office. But, judging by her expression, she still hasn't accepted that outcome. >> No, up. Sit. >> Touching my >> Yeah, okay. >> I'm trying to get my medication. This has been going on two months. My insurance company, I was on the phone with them trying to get to talk to somebody cuz they said it'd be clear tomorrow. I gave it up I don't need to explain everything. >> I got to take her inside. >> if you touch me again I'm going to have you fired. >> While the employees and officers were processing the trespass notice against the woman, she kept complaining about the officer touching her. Perhaps she was still trying to think of another way to keep fighting. >> Why are you touching me? Why are you touching me? Don't touch me. Why is he touching me? >> Cuz you're in custody now. It's over. You don't have a say. >> touch me. >> You don't have a say. >> He does not need to touch me. You know who I am? No, you don't. You're going to find out. Ask other police officers. Oh, they're probably they probably bus drivers now. I'm trying to get my medication. You know what that means? >> I don't know who she is yet. I'll take a look and see what's going on with her. >> You don't even know who I am. Y'all ain't figured out out yet? Something ain't right. Y'all ain't figured out that every time I get locked up there's a riot. Y'all that's stupid. >> Is your driver's license >> Yes, that's where that's the last time I had my meds right there. >> Accusing the officer wasn't enough. She then continued making accusations about the employees behavior, seemingly still trying to portray herself as being in the right. >> They won't give me my medication. I think they have a personal issue. I think there's something else going on behind there. I'm trying to What needs to be figured out. >> What's your Where do you live in? >> No, that's I was throwing a fit because my insurance they WON'T GIVE ME MY I WAS TRYING TO BE ON THE PHONE ALL DAY. There they go with the lies. >> What's your address? >> No, I did not. >> Oh, we got it on camera. Oh, now stop with your lies. >> What's your address? >> I said that's what I feel like doing. I sat down and and and called the farm my my insurance. He had no reason to come over there and bother me. >> Is he running? >> Yeah. >> Disorderly sign. >> Yeah. >> I want to get a technician to take your picture. >> This is going to be a riot. I'm just trying to get my medication. I'm just waiting. I was here getting video of something else. >> Mind your own business. >> Next thing I hear 2144 is coming. And by the time I start to go out >> What's noteworthy is that the woman's resistance during the arrest was far from simple. During the struggle, she also attacked the officers, leaving them injured and ensuring that she would face additional related charges. >> I think she she either bit me or scratched me. This is definitely a scratch. Okay. All right. Scratching, okay. Did you know did you ask her anything about her like blood borne >> I didn't get into that till you guys got here. >> Okay. All right. >> I really want to believe again. >> She was in the middle of shopping and she's like ain't going. >> No, they wouldn't take her like insurance at the pharmacy. You just We just like leave. Then she tried to jump the counter and we're not having that. >> It's all the difference by the >> She tried to jump the counter? >> Yeah. Back there with all those meds. >> So it's a pretty small scratch. >> like a >> Did she scratch? Did she have nails? >> Yeah. >> It's right here. >> That's probably from her nails, I think. >> Oh, okay. >> It's hard. >> Yeah, that's good. >> That's what I thought, too. >> Yeah, okay. >> She didn't ate an elbow then. When she was trying to bite me. >> Yeah, it's a scratch. Much better than the teeth. >> Yeah. >> In the end, Tiffany Williams was charged with felony battery of a law enforcement officer, misdemeanor disorderly conduct, and felony resisting an officer with violence. She was sentenced to 90 days in jail with credit for 67 days already served and ordered to pay $1,102 in court costs and fees. Frustration over a denied prescription or an insurance issue can be understandable, but losing control and taking that anger out on employees or officers will only make the situation worse. Resisting arrest and using violence can turn an already difficult situation into serious criminal charges with consequences that could have been avoided by staying calm and cooperating. Next, this guy tried to defend himself with a teddy bear after attempting to destroy the store. >> Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground, bro. >> Get on the ground. Don't walk near me. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. You're under arrest. >> On the 19th of April, 2026, a peaceful day at a smoke shop was shattered by a customer who came not to shop, but to cause chaos, destroy merchandise, and even try to set the store on fire. The employees were forced to flee outside and block the entrance to keep him from escaping. Here's what happened when officers arrived at the scene. >> Is anyone else in there? >> Yes, he leave the light on. And he's throwing everything on the floor, see? >> Yo! Police, what are you doing? All right, get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. >> I tell you where it >> Get on the ground. >> I tell you where it is. >> You're under arrest. Turn around, put your hands behind your back. >> Get on the ground. >> Get on the ground. >> Get on the ground. >> Get on the ground. >> Get on the ground, bro. >> Get on the ground. Don't walk near me, get on the ground. >> You're under arrest. >> Get on the ground, you're under arrest. >> He was clearly not in a normal state of mind, and the scene revealed the extent of the damage he had caused. Officers moved in to take him into custody. >> [cough] >> Sorry, bro. >> No, you're good. >> I need to go to the hospital. >> Oh, yeah, obviously. All right, whatever, kick your feet up. What's your name? >> Khalilu. >> Khalique? >> Khalilu. >> Khalilu? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Do you have anything on you that's going to hurt me? Any weapons? Needles? Okay, did you take anything today? >> Yeah, I smoked weed. >> You smoked weed? Okay. Have you ever had a weird reaction to weed? >> Yeah, I had a gun before. >> You had a gun? >> Yeah. >> Where is it? >> It's not It's not here. I don't have it. >> Okay. >> You can strip me if you want. >> All right. Stand up. Hold on, hold on, hold on. I'm going to double lock these, Drew. >> Yep. Yo, I just got bagged. >> It's the worst. >> I needed a vape. >> I'm putting on the >> All Clearly, spread your feet real wide for me. >> Pepper spray, man. >> Sorry, brother. >> I feel pretty good, though. >> It didn't have that much of an effect on you right now. >> I'm good. >> Now, keep your feet spread for me, all right? >> Is the pepper spray on my face? >> Yeah. We'll wait till the adrenaline goes down. Spread your legs a little bit, bro. A little bit more. >> I don't feel like running, though. >> Relax, relax, relax. >> I don't feel like running, though. >> Nah, definitely don't run. All right, come over here. >> All right. >> Have a seat in the back of my car for a minute, all right? Don't spit in my car. >> I know. >> I know, I'm just telling him. Once you're in there, don't spit, all right? You all right? >> His behavior raised suspicions that he was under the influence of marijuana, but despite claiming he couldn't remember what happened, he showed no sign of remorse. >> You guys smoke vapes? I don't smoke vapes no more. I smoke Black & Milds. >> Wrong place, right time, I guess. >> That was a perfect shot. >> Damn it, it like hit on my face, too, bro. >> Yeah, we're going to go get you washed up, all right? >> We have to. >> What's that? >> Finish smoking my weed. >> No, whatever you smoked, yeah, whatever you smoked, man. You might have had some K2 in it or something. >> Yeah. >> Something. Do you remember what happened? >> No. >> No? >> I blacked out. >> Yeah. All right, uh, here. Come with me, you're going to get in this officer's car. We're going to take you inside to, uh, our headquarters. We got an eye wash station. We're going to wash your eyes out real good. >> Well, it You're going to start feeling it. >> to feel it more. >> Once the, uh, the weed wears off and your adrenaline comes down. Um >> Did you search him? >> Yeah, we did. >> Yeah. >> You still do it anyway. >> Feel free to do it again. >> Yeah. >> Immediately after taking the suspect into custody, officers began assessing the damage and most importantly checking whether anyone had been injured. >> Sounds good, man. Come on in. Are you guys okay? >> Yeah, I'm good. >> He didn't hurt anybody? >> No. >> [laughter] >> Is this mine or yours? >> It's Uh mine's here. >> I got mine. >> [clears throat] >> Leave the Leave the door propped and maybe turn a fan on if you have one. >> Just give them >> I I have a AC I will turn on there. >> Yeah, that's fine. >> Just give us a running total. How much damage do you >> Yeah, good luck with that. >> Check out that over there. >> All the way in the back? >> Yeah, go check that out. >> Uh and I'm assuming all your cameras work? >> Yeah, it's all good. >> So we'll be able to get a copy of the whole video? Okay. All right. So this officer is going to go through everything with you. Um we're going to need a running total of the damage. I mean, I'm sure it's going to be several thousand dollars. Just the MacBook alone is what? How much? >> 1,500. >> 1,500, right? Plus all your product that you're out of now, your stands, your glass. Let's start with whose shop is it? >> Home Depot Home Depot. >> Okay. Can you give him his information and then we'll get your guys information? And then maybe we can call. >> Uh do you need information? >> Smells like the boardwalk. >> This little stank. >> [cough] >> I've [snorts] been I've been ripping cayenne pepper. >> Oh, yeah? >> So it's kind of like just getting me that extra, you know, like Yeah. >> Another question had been raised from the very beginning. What drove the man to behave this way? The store owner's statement gradually revealed the answer. >> What was he trying to light on fire? >> Yeah, what was he doing? >> Yo, uh let him get the info. >> I [clears throat] called you guys at 3:05, right? And he came in around 2:50, 2:45. >> Okay. >> And then he came in and he started asking for vape, right? The free vape. Then I was like, "If you want money, I'll give it to you." And he was like, "I don't have money right now. Once I get it, I'll give I'll give it to you. Just give me the vape." I was like, "Sorry, I I cannot give it to you right now." He was like, "Just get the money I'll give it to you." Then he started arguing with me and I told him, "Just leave." And then I called cops. He was arguing like continuously. So, I was Then he sat on the counter on the counter and he was grabbing a cookie packet and he was leaving. And I was like, "Sir, uh you cannot leave without paying me." And then >> You know what's crazy is I was just We had something like this a couple years ago at the bodega on the corner of Long Beach or not Long Beach, Long Park. >> Oh, yeah, yeah. >> And I was just thinking about that the other day. I was like, "Man, that was crazy. That lady was like off her rocker. She destroyed the bodega." >> bodega. >> And then like, "I don't know I don't know if you had a weapon or not." I was like, "I ain't taking a chance cuz he [clears throat] kept going, 'Yeah, my teddy bear.'" I'm like, "Yeah, okay." And then we get we get lit up. I'm like, "Nah, I'm not playing that game." >> Based on the employee's statement, the incident took a more serious turn when the man demanded merchandise without paying and made threats. Officers began considering several possible charges as they pieced together what had happened. >> I think he was He was like, "No, just don't call them. Just give it to me. I'll leave." And I was like, "I cannot give it to you without money." And >> Right. He wanted He wanted the product. He didn't want the money, right? >> He wanted the product, yes. >> And he just wanted a vape? >> Yeah. >> That's initially what he came in for, a vape? >> And then he sat over here and then he turned around and came in there. And then >> He jumped in the back? >> Yeah, then that's when I left the store. >> Yeah, but that when he jumped back there and take the vape. >> Yeah. >> All right, so yeah. >> It's a robbery. I think yeah, it should be a robbery. >> Just try not to move anything until we photograph everything, okay? >> Yo, I'm going to miss you. Arson, public intoxication. >> Uh no, I don't think we have an arson. We're still kicking we It sounds like it's going to be a robbery. Cuz he was saying like give me the Just leave that blank for now. Um no arson. I don't think. Um definitely the criminal mischief, under the influence. But for the purposes of this >> Yeah. >> just leave it as criminal mischief right now. >> Okay. >> So what we're toying around with is under the influence cuz he said he smoked weed. >> Okay. >> Um which was probably laced or synthetic or some crazy [ __ ] >> Okay. >> Um the robbery cuz he said give me the vape. He's like give me a vape or I'll kill you. >> Oh, he he didn't tell me that. >> when the dude was like no, he jumped behind the counter and started taking the vape and then destroying all the property. >> Okay. >> Finally, the man was arrested for criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and shoplifting. When anger or intoxication takes over, one reckless decision can quickly escalate into multiple criminal charges. No matter what someone is going through, threats, theft, and destruction of property are not excuses for breaking the law. Even more horrifying, one customer's whim left Walmart shrouded in smoke. >> Ethan! Ethan! Ethan! >> Where's the lighter at? >> It's in the kitchen. When you walk in, there's like a cabinet right here. >> On the 26th of December, 2023, firefighters were dispatched to a Walmart and it all started with one woman. What seemed like an ordinary shopping trip took a disastrous turn when she entered the arts and crafts section and discovered a lighter in her pocket. Instead of putting it away, she lit an artificial plant nearby, causing the fire to spread rapidly, and leaving several shoppers with a video they would never forget. >> Put that out! >> [laughter] >> Everyone move from the area! Everyone move from the area! >> The damage was estimated at $7.6 million. dollars. When officers arrived at the scene, thick smoke was all that remained, making it difficult for them to locate the source of the fire. >> Let's just go. >> I'm more worried about people. >> Are they all out? >> I don't know. >> I got to get the sprinklers here. >> Yep. >> Keep it. Keep it. >> Oh, Jesus. >> She's outside. >> All right. >> Let's just sweep and make sure everybody got out. >> Yep. Is everybody out? >> I think everybody out. >> Okay, get out. >> Just get out. Just let it go. >> Yeah. >> I'll grab this section. I'm going to go down and I'll go that way. Yeah. All right. >> 45 17, can you copy? >> Make sure everybody's out. >> 48 copy. I'm helping them sweep here. >> Yeah, I'm in here with you. I got grocery cleared except for the far west aisle. >> I cleared the back. I told everybody get out. >> Yep. Where the [ __ ] is it? >> It's in the craft section, but >> Uh 30, are you 10-2? >> He needs to get out of there. Hopefully he loves running in the smoke. >> While firefighters were still battling the blaze, an officer worked with Walmart's loss prevention team to identify the suspect. What stood out was the girl's behavior after starting the fire. She casually walked around, remained calm, and even stayed to watch the masterpiece she had created. >> Oh, Christ. That one hurried. >> But like I said, this person seems like they're acting off. >> Looks back at smoke right there. >> Yeah. >> Bingo. >> It almost looks like he's got they're wearing like one of those bomber hats. >> Was that him? >> I think so. >> I think that's him right there. >> Yep. >> Yeah, he's backing up just a little bit. >> See right here by this guy? >> He's on just behind him. He's tucked up. Yep, there he is. >> Looks like he had his phone out like he's taking a video or something. >> Steve Erickson can reach out some of his head kids and check their Snapchat feed. >> Yep, right there. >> That's an oh [ __ ] look if I've ever seen one. >> You ain't a kidding. >> Ooh, oh boy. >> What did I do? >> It definitely looks like a female. >> It's a female. She probably should refer this to the school resource officer. >> I got a video of it from inside. >> Really? Who is it? >> Oh, that's way after. >> Holy balls. >> Emma Smith coming down the street. >> Total loss right now is just over 7.6 million minutes. It's going to be a total loss. I don't know what's going to be saved. Like for sure all of the apparel's gone, right? >> Yep, that's gone. >> Any of the food sitting out is just toast. >> That's gone. Anything where sprinklers hit is gone. >> So a rough rough estimate right now is 7.6 mil. >> Yep, rough. >> The value of the box currently. >> Fire chief, he sounds like he might be contacting BCI, so we might have to secure the building and tape it off for a crime scene. So I might be letting you know in a couple minutes. >> Police identified the suspect as 17-year-old Emma Smith. Later that same afternoon, officers arrived at her home where she already seemed to understand what was going on. >> Can you come down and chat with us for a second? >> Yeah. >> You want to have a seat? I'm Detective Bray, this is Sergeant Were you were you at Walmart today? >> Mhm. >> Okay. What did you go to Walmart for? >> Oatmeal and mayo. >> Oatmeal and mayo? Okay. Did you go with anybody? No? You seem a little nervous. What's going on? >> Because it scared me genuinely. >> What what scared you? >> The fire. >> Okay. Where were you were when you saw it? >> I was walking. I was ready to go check out and I was in the ladies bra section and then someone was saying oh there's a fire and then I saw it it started reaching the ceiling and then I said everyone move away fire fire fire. I have a video if you want to see. >> Okay. Well Walmart has a lot of video cameras that's a lot of them. That pretty much cover the entire store. Okay. So did you get your oatmeal and milk? You got them? >> them from Hansen. >> So why were you over in the bras if you went there to get oatmeal and milk? >> Because when I was going to check out in >> Did you have oatmeal and milk in your hands? >> Mhm. And then I set it down right where the refrigerator was in the self-checkout aisle. There was one where it's not in there but it's like right outside of it and I put it there and then I walked out. >> Okay. >> When you were why what why were you going through like the bra the section with the bras and stuff? >> I always take a shortcut and plus I written on my hand that I needed socks. >> Okay. >> I know you got some for me but I usually like to wear black socks and so I was going to get those. >> [clears throat] >> I didn't cuz you know that happened. >> The girl had her own story to deny any involvement but it contradicted the security footage forcing police to press her to tell the truth. >> I'm asking you if you have anything I'm asking you what you started it with. >> I didn't start it with anything. >> We need you to be honest. Okay. There's lots of footage. You're clearly in a panic right now. So what did you start it with? >> This the the state crime inspectors are coming to check the fire and they're going to be able to tell us exactly how it happened. Like not like it maybe happened this way or it maybe happened that way. What did you start on with? fire? >> I don't have my lighter. >> Okay. What where's the lighter at now? >> It's in >> Where's the lighter at now? Emma, where's the lighter at? >> It's in the kitchen where >> I don't want you to touch it. I want you to tell me where it's at. >> What's going to happen to me? Please tell me. >> Tell me where the lighter is. >> I just I >> Emma, this is a felony. That's that's the Where's the lighter at? >> I didn't mean to do it. I'm sorry. I really wasn't thinking. I don't take my meds today and I'm impulsive. >> Okay. Where's the lighter at? >> It's in the kitchen. When you walk in, there's like a cabinet right here. There's a garbage >> It's the refrigerator first. >> Okay. Okay. I'm going to walk you over there and I want you to show me where it's at, okay? I don't want you to touch it. Okay? So, let's go grab it. Don't touch it. Just show me where it's at. Which one is it? >> Green. >> The green one? >> She's going to get arrested. >> I'm afraid of >> Am I going to jail? Please be honest with me. >> All right. Come back over here. We're not done yet. So, what what did you start on fire? >> Hm? >> What what did you start on fire? >> I just >> What did you light? >> I lit one of the leaves of the fake plants and I just I really didn't mean to. >> What do you mean? Explain that to me. Help me understand. >> Because I wasn't thinking about anything that could have happened at the end. I didn't even think about that. I was and I feel really guilty. >> Tell me tell me where the lighter is. >> I don't want to go to jail. Seriously, you could have hurt somebody. Do you understand the gravity >> Her pleas were not enough to spare her from the consequences. Emma was ultimately sentenced to 8 years of probation, 60 days in jail, and ordered to pay over 8.6 million dollars in restitution. Though the amount could be reduced to 1 million dollars if she meets the conditions of of probation. One impulsive decision can lead to consequences far beyond what anyone expects. No matter how much someone regrets their actions afterward, they still have to take responsibility for the damage they cause. Next, when the person causing chaos in the loss prevention office turns out to be an employee. >> Get off of her, bro. Get off of her. What are you doing? >> He punched me twice in the >> What ARE YOU DOING? GET ON THE GROUND, ORLANDO POLICE. >> ON JULY 21, a female Uber Eats driver arrived at a 7-Eleven to pick up a customer's order, but a confrontation with an employee broke out. The employee even blocked her from leaving, forcing police to step in. The question is, who was in the wrong? >> What is going on, man? Who are you? Get off of her, bro. Get off of her. What are you doing? >> He punched me twice in the >> What are you doing? What are you doing? >> The store is closed. >> You okay? All right, let me figure out what's going on, okay? Give me [clears throat] a second. Hey, man, let me talk to you real quick. So So what what is happening? Why did you feel the need to do this? >> Sir, I work here. >> I don't care. >> All right, so >> So explain to explain to me, why did you feel the need >> yesterday. We're receiving the McLane truck. Nobody The store is closed. Nobody's allowed in the store until the truck leaves. >> Okay, I I I understand that the store is closed, but why Listen to me. I don't Listen to me. Answer my questions. Why did you feel the need >> The store was closing, she was in the the Nobody's allowed in the store until that McLean truck leaves. >> so the store is closed. No one's allowed in. So you kept her in the store? >> to keep her in the store. >> You were on top of her. >> Her? You watch the camera. >> You were on When I got here, I saw you on top of her. I I don't care that you work here. >> So I You want me to clock out then you arrest me then? >> I don't care what you do. Explain to me why is it that you felt the need >> this right here, sir. If you want to I >> Explain I'm trying. You're not answering my questions. >> It's right. It The procedure is to >> Explain to me >> call 911 >> Okay, so it was the procedure to jump on top of somebody? >> Watch the camera. >> According to the employee, the woman was in the wrong first. But was trapping her inside and sitting on top of her really the right thing to do? Unfortunately, he ignored the questions and even walked away. >> You're not answering my question. >> Sir, do your job and not let me go. >> Okay, so answer my questions then. I'm trying to do my job. Why did you feel the need to to to be on top of this woman? Hey, don't walk away from me. I'm trying to talk to you. You want me to call you an ambulance? You need me to call you an ambulance? Kilo 33, can I have FBB 51, please? >> I'm here for Uber Eats. He wasn't in the front of the store. >> to me what happened? >> I came in I'm parking this time. My boyfriend is apparently injured. He's in the car right here. >> You got a female with a head injury? >> And I walked in. I didn't park in between those two trucks here. Now all 7-Eleven closed when they're when they're shifting. I walked in. He was not there. The The freaking guy Josh, he said to me like, "I don't want nothing to do with it." I don't know if he's scared, but he was taking the order. I have an Uber Eats order. >> Okay, so >> So he was doing it and the guy came from behind me. He was like, "Ma'am, you're not supposed to be in here." And da da da. I don't know. He starts locking the door and he's like, "I'm going to punch you." >> Okay. All right. So, try to calm down. Let's start from the beginning. So, you you had an Uber Eats order. >> Yes. I walked in. Nobody was there. If he would have told me the store was closed, I would have canceled it. It's not that serious. >> you were able to walk in. >> Yes. That door that left door that we're looking out on our left was open, sir. I came. I spoke with Josh. He asked What was the name? I told him the name. He asked me He was like, "Okay, well, my system is a little messed up. Can you read me the order?" I told him the pizza menu. He said, "Okay, I got it. Now I know which order." He started doing that. This guy is yelling at somebody, a man outside. Then he comes in and he's like, "Ma'am, you can't be in here." So, I'm telling him like, "You can't talk to people like that." cuz he's coming off very hostile. And I'm telling him, "I'm here with Uber Eats." and Josh is telling her, "Well, she has the order." But nobody can be in here with her. And that's when he starts freaking out. He starts locking me. Put the phone down. I'm not leaving. >> This incident could leave the woman traumatized. Meanwhile, the employee, who claimed he was just doing his job, abandoned the store and locked himself inside the security room. >> I can't see I can't see anything through this window, man. I cannot see anything through that window. >> Open the door and come talk to us. We're trying to understand what happened. >> You want to go non-lethal right now? >> Open the door, man, so we can talk. Open the door, man, so we can talk. We can't We can't handle the situation if you're inside behind the door. >> I can't hear anything, though. With the alarm and this the door, I can't hear anything. She just has a head injury, she said. >> [music] >> I need you to step outside so I can talk with you, man. I'm investigating something and you're prohibiting for me to do my investigation. I need more than just your ID right now. I need to speak with you. >> I can't even see anything. >> He made things difficult for the police by ignoring their requests, unaware that his actions could constitute obstruction and lead to his arrest. So, the officers tried to obtain his ID to find a way to unlock the door. >> What is that? >> The ID that I work here, sir. >> Okay. >> I'm doing my job on the clock right now. >> Get on the ground or we're going to release. Get on the ground. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Put your hands BEHIND YOUR BACK. STOP RESISTING. Stop resisting. [laughter] Stop resisting. Get your hand behind your back. >> Just one second. Let me get this on. >> Stop resisting. Give me your arm. Give me your arm. >> Relax your arm. Put your other hand behind your back. Please follow instructions. Get up. >> Yes, sir. So, can I go to work now, sir? >> I'll get you to work. >> Can I go to work, please? Yes, sir. Yes, sir. >> I'm not asking you to write a statement. I got called here cuz I'm a supervisor and I'm just trying to figure out what happened. >> There's no offense but I have no right to spray you with pepper spray. But always >> Yeah, I got you, bro. I I'm listening. >> She came in to try and get a DoorDash. >> Okay. >> I was going to hand her a DoorDash and then it went down from there. >> Did Did she Did say anything to him or >> She kept on saying sorry sorry she started yelling at her and >> Okay. >> Said I'm sorry sorry and then >> Okay. And then >> I was stuck here the rest of the month. >> Did she So she came to try to get a door dash. He was telling her the store was closed and then did she try to leave or something or >> More than she >> Okay. And then did she hit him or >> I don't I didn't see it all cuz it actually happened behind the shelf so I can >> Okay. What do you think of the other employee involved in this incident? Let me know your thoughts in the comments. Meanwhile, an officer stayed with the victim and continued taking her statement about what happened. >> He thinks the bag is stolen. He's telling me you got to get out. Okay, I'll >> I'm not letting you out of my store. >> There's something keeping you in here. I'm citizen's arrest. Oh, what are you doing? Ladies on the phone with >> Take her name India 39 10-7. >> Officer on the phone so I said I'm leaving. He's like I'm going to hit you. Then he grabs me and he's like I'm going to hit you. Then he hits me and he's like stay there. >> Take her 30 out of the incident. >> Then he grabs the phone. Then he throws it by my right leg. It breaks on the floor and then he starts yelling at me the whole time. I don't care if I'm leaving. I'm not leaving. You have the door locked. The cops are coming. You can tie me up. I can literally do anything better than you said. I was I could not breathe. >> So you couldn't move at all? >> No, I couldn't breathe. He took my phone. He He took my my shoes and my Crocs off. >> Going somewhere here. >> I don't know where my ID is. I don't have nothing. >> And whoever the guy Whoever the the counter boy takes the phone from her >> Go ahead. >> Shouldn't be taking the phone. >> I said I'm leaving after he breaks it. This guy breaks my phone. Why are you taking my phone, bro? And I'm telling you No, no need to call them. What are you talking about? It's a citizen's arrest. What is it? I'm screaming, bro. >> That's real weird, too. That's a real weird >> Then he kept asking me questions. What are you doing here with what car? holding me here with what car. Then I told him I'm from Osceola County. He's like, "Oh, why are you here?" Oh, you said you said no, no. Oh, you you busted >> Returning to the suspect, the man still refused to admit his wrongdoing, insisting that trapping the customer inside and sitting on top of her was just doing his job. >> Yeah. >> Okay, so if you guys are helping her with the Uber order, how was she an intruder? >> not helping her with a Uber order. >> Do you remember having a physical altercation with the young lady that was in the store? >> uh physical altercation with anybody. >> Okay. >> No. >> Do you remember what happened during this event at all? >> Yes. >> Other than coming in, her asking for the DoorDash, and then asking her to leave. >> You told everybody that the store was closed between the McCrae and 7-Eleven, and that we're doing our inventory, which >> Okay. Did you hold her down at any point? >> Hold her? What do you mean hold by what? >> Like hold her down on the ground, keep her prevent her from getting up. >> I was on my back, like >> You were on your back? How did you end up on your back? >> Well, we asked about the cameras, and I guess the the manager or whatever says the cameras aren't working. >> What manager? >> The one that we talked to on the phone. >> There's no manager on the phone. >> Okay. So, who did your co-worker in there call on the phone that we spoke to? >> and him. >> Okay. >> All right. >> No worries. This is All right. Last question. Is there anything else that happened here that you think we need to know in regards to her intruding in the store? >> That is between that 7-Eleven and them. I'm just doing my job, sir. I'm not I'm at work. I got another job I got to go to at 6:00 a.m. I'm just doing my job, sir, and that's it. >> How long have you worked here? 2021? Yes, sir. Okay. All right, Kareem. Slide your your knees back real quick. I don't want to hit them with the door. All right. >> Kareem was charged with false imprisonment, criminal mischief, resisting arrest without violence, battery, and obstruction. He was sentenced to 9 months in jail. An employee who claims to be doing his job must still understand the limits of his authority. Trapping a customer inside, using physical force, and refusing to cooperate with police can turn a workplace dispute into a criminal case. >> Well, I would pay for it if I had to or, you know, whatever. Just I I I don't know if that's how I was feeling. Like I said, I it wasn't like I came here planning I >> On the 22nd of December, 2025, it seemed like an ordinary day at Target until a woman walked into the store and began concealing items in her bag without any intention of paying. Store employees stopped her, which was why an officer was called to the scene shortly afterward. >> Hello. Hello. >> Hi. >> Hey, how are you? >> What's going on? >> Um so, today we have Ms. Tara. She came in, she selected clothing, beauty items, and some food items, concealed some of them into her personal bag, and then the others into the white Target bags right there. She went to self-checkout, only paid for three boxes of Popsicles, and then passed all points of sale without paying for $219 worth of $19 worth of items. >> Okay. Any particular reason as to why? >> No. No. No. I don't really do I don't have any It's not really normal for me. I >> Okay. >> I I don't know. I know some just going through a lot and just >> Okay. >> I don't know. Maybe I did it to see if I could I I don't It wasn't like I came in here planning like I'm going to go in there and steal. Like it wasn't wasn't nothing like I planned on doing. >> Okay. >> And I I guess I mean you can see on my record I don't have a a record of like shoplifting. I just don't have a >> Never been arrested before? >> No. No. No, never been arrested ever. >> Okay. >> He said I wasn't going to get arrested today. I hope I don't. >> No, no, I didn't say that. I just said I cannot arrest you. >> Oh. >> Yeah, I did >> Okay. >> You know, I stole something. I can't I you know, I told him I would pay for it if I had to or you know, whatever. I just you know >> Well, that that ship has kind of sailed considering that, you know >> That ship has sailed. You you can't pay for it now. >> Yeah. >> You had the opportunity to. >> Yes, I did. Yes, I did. >> The woman tried to show remorse and claimed this was her first mistake, making it seem like an unwanted accident. But the store had a different story, causing her explanation to quickly fall apart. >> So, just so you know, this this was not like a first time occurrence at our store. Um you've you've hit our store quite a couple of times in the last month, and today was just the first day that you got caught. >> Okay. Tara, do me a favor. Can you stand up for me, please? >> Mhm. >> Is there anything on you that's going to poke me or stick me? >> No. >> No? No weapons on you whatsoever? >> No. >> Okay. Can you just face the wall for me, please? I'm just going to do a quick search, okay? I'm not going to do anything crazy. I'm going to use the back of my hands. I just want to make sure you don't have any weapons, okay? >> Yeah. >> Okay, you can go ahead and have a seat, okay? >> Okay. >> All right. >> Um are you going to arrest me? >> So, that's what's going to happen, yes. Okay. It's it's kind of a zero tolerance here in the village. It's not my >> Yeah. >> It's not my >> Yeah. thing, but >> know what the Okay. I don't But, do me a favor. Stand up again. Put your hands behind your back. What I'm going to do is I'm going to have the stuff that you paid for, I'm going to have it returned to you on your card because it can't go with you to the jail. Okay? So, I don't I'm not going to let you lose money. Okay. Are you supposed to go back to work? Were you on your lunch break? Okay. >> The woman was reportedly using her lunch break to commit the crime. Even the car she arrived in was reportedly borrowed from someone else as she appeared to be trying to distance herself from the incident. >> Well, well, well, well, we'll figure that out. We'll figure that out. Like I said, I just can't leave you by yourself. So, before I do anything crazy, I got to get my partner over here. >> Okay. >> Okay. We'll we'll get we'll get through all that, but I want to make sure you get your money back for that at least because it can't go with you. So, All right. Where's your car now? Whose car? Where's the car key? It's in your purse? Whose car is this? You work at Target? >> Yeah. Did you report this to them to Toyota? >> I don't tell Toyota anything. >> Okay. >> But, are you on break? >> Yeah. >> So, you have to go back to Toyota, don't you? >> Yeah, I'll have to call Yeah, I'll have to That's what I'm saying. Can I like, you know, that's my house key. Could you please take the house key off? >> This one? >> Yeah. Can you Can you just take that one off, and then we could stick that in the car, and then I could just park it in there and say, "Hey." Cuz then otherwise, you know, if you like can't store it, I can't have no grand theft auto. >> When are you supposed to return the car? >> Today at 4:00. >> Home. >> I've had to park it at my job at Toyota. >> Wow. >> Continuing the investigation, the loss prevention employee reviewed the footage and clearly explained each of her actions. The more they looked into it, the clearer it became that she had intentionally come there to steal. >> Three boxes of Popsicles, um Mercedes came up to self-checkout. Uh she went and paid for those three boxes of Popsicles, but nothing else that was concealed. After that transaction, >> Yeah, I don't know how I feel about that. >> Ma'am, stop talking. After that transaction, she then went around um self-checkout, where she she selected cookies um and a drink, and then concealed it into the white Target bags that she now had. Um and then she finally passed all points of sale without rendering payment for any of the concealed items, and that's when myself and Annette stopped her. >> Okay. >> Um am I allowed to talk? >> Um can you mind just raising your right hand, and everything that you told me this word is all truth, nothing but truth, everything was very good truth. Okay. I'll do the I'll do the community service for you. >> service. Um >> Should be good on that. >> And my glasses in there are prescription glasses that I I need, so I got to get them out. >> won't get thrown away. Okay. >> Yeah, he's going to go deal with something. Okay. >> Can you call someone tonight? You know, you prefer that one. >> So, you guys found the car, or you didn't find the car? >> No, I I found the car. I found it. >> And can you put the keys inside it? >> I can't do that. >> No? >> No, I can't do that. We're going to have to I know we're going to to in touch with them. We're going to work on all that. All right? >> As time went on, the pressure on the woman continued to build and she eventually admitted that she had intended to steal. It was hard to believe such a clear admission would come from a grown woman. >> You've been going through a lot? >> Yeah. >> All right. So, I'm sorry that you've been going through a lot, but what is What exactly does that >> Like I mean, then you know, just my brain sometimes, you know? Like I'm on anxiety medicine and stuff like that and >> Do you feel like you were wanting to hurt yourself or commit suicide or anything like that? >> Oh, no. >> Okay. >> Uh-uh. >> Okay. >> Maybe it was just, you know, >> So, the only reason was >> Let's see if I can get away with it. Yeah. I don't know. >> something that you wanted to see if you can get away with and see how far you can go with it? Is that what you said? >> I I I don't know if that's how I was feeling. Like I said, I it wasn't like I came here to plan. I came here really to get the Advil so I bought Advil. >> Okay. And then as you select the other items, I mean, I mean, obviously there was no intent to pay. Is that correct? >> No. >> There was no intent to pay? >> so obviously no. >> Obviously no. Okay. >> Yeah, but >> All right. >> Like I said, I >> Listen, we're not going to make you late. Because I understand that you just you you got to You just got to be mindful of what you're doing, okay? >> Yes. >> All right. So, this is the receipt for the returned items, okay? That way you got your money back for that for that stuff right there. >> Okay. >> All right. Do you Do you want to add anything else to the whole >> Like I said, I've never been arrested because it's just not It's not normal for me to just go over I don't know, you know? >> She was charged with petit theft and could face legal consequences for the decision to steal during her lunch break, while also being banned from returning to the Target property. Trying to make a theft look like a mistake becomes much harder when the evidence clearly shows otherwise. Once the truth comes out, admitting the intent does not erase the consequences of the decision. >> Shut up. >> Enough. >> Shut up. Be quiet. >> Damn. >> I don't like men touching me. >> Well, when you're arguing with somebody and I'm telling you to get off of somebody >> On March 7th, 2021, police were dispatched to a mall after reports of a group of women getting into a fight with an employee over being caught shoplifting. When approached, she simply thought returning the items would end the whole situation. >> Well, that's not what we're here about. So, you can pick your stuff up. Is there an altercation between you two girls and two others? >> We didn't get in a fight with two other females. >> one female over there. >> We're trying to find our friend. We don't even know where she's at. >> Okay. Is that your friend? >> Yes. >> Go and pick your stuff up there. >> Sorry. >> So, what what exactly was going on? >> So, I got a call they were arguing with the manager. >> Which manager? >> Brian. >> Okay. >> They had actually stolen a couple things from the store. >> Okay. >> I arrived and arrived here they started arguing with Brian. >> When you're done, can I have it on video? >> They started arguing with her, throwing items. >> Hey, you shut up. >> Enough. >> up. Be quiet. Be quiet. Hey. Hey. >> Woah. Woah. >> No. And you step away. >> The attitude of these women alone clearly proved that a confrontation had indeed occurred. And at that moment, the escalating tension forced the police to step in and take control. >> You come over here and you sit down. >> You get your hands off of me because >> No, because I'm getting you away from the situation. >> I'm the most violent person you'll ever meet. I would listen. I don't like men >> I'm going to listen to you in a second. When you're arguing with them >> like men touching me. >> Well, when you're arguing with somebody and I'm telling you to get off of somebody or stop arguing, you're going to sit down. >> Please just like I don't >> Are you going to sit down? >> Yeah. >> Sit down. >> Sir, take your hands out of your pocket. You're just being >> We're going to probably end up with 321s for DOC. Enough. You're resisting. Stop. You want to interfere with what's going on over there. You won't give us the chance to do it. As of now, we have 221s. >> It wasn't any of her business. >> Listen, sit down. >> I wasn't talking to you. >> Sit down. >> Don't yell at me. >> I am. Sit down. >> at me. >> Sit down. >> That hurts my feelings. >> Yeah, life sucks, doesn't it? Get them in the car. >> Shortly after, each woman was escorted to the patrol car for arrest, making it clear that dealing with them was far from easy for the officers. >> Hey guys, we're going to be bringing these two out. They won't stop running their mouths. Yeah, well, you can see mom in jail. What's your name? What's your name? What's your last name? I can't hear you. Too late. You wanted to argue with that girl. I told you to stop. >> She started with the officer. >> Well, it was over. You started it up again. So, you're going to jail for disorderly. What's your name? Tell me your name or I'm putting another charge on you. What? Hey, you created all this yourself. Two right now. We end up with a third. Put her in a car. >> She don't like coffee. >> She don't like us. So, how What's your name, Hunter? >> Hunter. >> Hunter, how old are you? >> 20. >> Okay. Here, give me your keys for a second. >> Ow. >> This is going to hurt. >> Is that Hunter, the kid from Martinsburg? >> You from Martinsburg, Hunter? >> Yes. >> Just get her out, put her in the car for now. >> The remaining woman, calm and composed, was approached by the police who tried to get her account of the events, revealing that a real dispute had indeed taken place. >> Your two friends have put themselves in jail, okay? I still don't know what's going on here. At least you're using some common sense and cooperating. >> it was supposed to be just like a little hangout thing, so >> Okay. What's your name? >> Tasha Outlaw. >> All right, where are you from? >> Shady Side. >> Okay. How old are you? >> 30. >> 30? You don't look 30. >> I'm 30. >> Okay. What happened down there at which >> Claire's. >> Claire's. What happened down there at Claire's? >> were just popping off. >> Okay. >> And they don't like that, and she asked her, "Please stop. Please stop." And she proceeded to say, "Get Get the hell out of my vehicle." Or out of my vehicle, out of my car. >> Out of your car, okay. >> I've been having a little bit too much to drink. >> The kid from Martinsburg. >> To get out of her shop or whatever. >> Okay. >> And I said, "No, I didn't do shit." >> Okay, I'll have an ID. >> Okay. So, it was an exchange of words between you three girls and the people at Claire's, right? >> Just three girls. >> You and those other two girls? >> I was already with them to get my [ __ ] >> Okay, but you're with them. >> Yes. >> Okay. so you're trying to tell them knock it off, shut up. Okay. >> Yeah. >> All right, so what what started it, Clarice? I mean, did they think you guys were stealing something or >> I don't know. I wasn't I was walking back and forth on the family dollar showing you that he said I don't know. >> Your sugar daddy? >> Yeah. >> On the store employee's side, she also had her own account of the incident. Let's see how it compares to the story told by the friend of the suspect. >> Oh god, they came into my store and the one that was in all black off her ears pierced. She paid $200 for her ear piercings and then she came out here and sat down. >> Okay. >> The other two were in my store while I was doing the ear piercing. I can't watch and watch at the same time. She was watching. They started stacking up phone cases into their bags, scrunchies up their arms cuz I had clearance out here. Scrunchies up their arms. >> Out here? >> Out here. >> Okay. >> I was going to let it go. >> Mhm. >> It was like $30 worth of stuff maybe. I was going to let it go. >> Mhm. >> They left and they came back. >> Okay. >> Back into my store. They went and they started, let's try this phone case on. Okay, I like this one. Let's flip it in my bag. >> Mhm. >> So I walked in and I was like, ladies, we're about to close. Can I have my phone cases and my scrunchies [music] back? >> Mhm. >> And that's when it started. And then the one put her hair up and threatened me and started pushing cases and all kinds of stuff. >> Okay. Now, ma'am, Verizon lady, I guess you have it all on video. >> Would you like to come see it? >> I'm going to look at that in a second. Now, what did they do to you? Did you just >> a hole. They called me all types of names, but I don't care. Then they threw my microwave. I like to eat. So I was >> Threw the microwave? >> Yeah. Threw the microwave. Sorry about my language. >> Mhm. >> They hit her several times. >> Yeah, they hit me a couple times. But like my microwave, come on. I like I'm here 30 minutes >> Okay, so your microwave sitting there where it is, right? >> thrown on the ground. >> But that's where you normally have it, right? >> Okay. So after the incident here, >> They came over here. >> Come over here. >> You can hold it. >> Where's your volume? >> You have to hit That's where she hit me. >> I'm about to be getting a >> And then that's when I realized I have a but I can't beat the [ __ ] >> Trash is going out early, so go. The trash is going out early. Let me just keep reading the text. >> Back with the suspects, they seem somewhat regretful for their actions. Yet, it was clear they didn't take the matter very seriously. >> Good, cuz the sheriffs are coming. The sheriffs are coming. What you got? >> The sheriffs are coming, you little weird [ __ ] >> I'm I'm on a kid. >> That's where they jumped on top of my put my hand the second time. That was the video. >> It will all be continued under one disorderly conduct charge. But, I'm going to put in there what they did here, so when it goes to court they can be banned from coming into the mall and Claire's. Okay? >> So, what happened tonight, Hunter? >> [crying and laughter] >> Do you know this other girl that's in this other car? >> Which one? >> I don't know. She's got glasses on, a white hoodie. Or is that the one you got >> Abby? >> I don't know. >> Abby, the blonde one with glasses? >> Yeah. So, who were you in a in a fight with? Her? >> No, that that woman that was working. >> A woman that was working in in there in the mall? >> She was working across from Claire's. And the person the people at Claire's said that we stole something and we were trying to find the receipt for it to show that we didn't steal it. >> 24 years >> sitting there and rushing us and then we couldn't find the receipt cuz there was so many bags. And then we were just escorted from there. Am I going to go to jail? >> Huh? >> Am I going to go to jail? >> Not sure. As of right now, the officer that's uh basically investigating this is inside right now. All you're doing is right now you are hanging out here until we figure out what's going on. Are the keys the only thing you have on you? I got them. They're right in the front seat. But that's all you had? >> Okay. >> And I have receipts for that I paid for so >> All right. You what? We didn't get called for shoplifting. We got for a bunch of girls fighting in the mall. Was you fighting with any girls in the mall? >> Yeah. That's my best friend and my other best friend. We just joke around and say stupid to each other sometimes not meaning it. You know what I mean? It's It wasn't nothing. It wasn't like, "Oh, I'm going to fight you up in this store." Like, I got a 5-year-old. My other friend got three daughters. Like, this is our youngest friend. We're molding her who who who she needs to be. Like, we I don't They don't It's never get into trouble. So, if they >> In the end, they were charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Even minor disputes can quickly escalate when tempers flare and failing to take responsibility for one's actions only worsens THE SITUATION. >> DID Y'ALL GO CHECK THE CAMERAS UP IN HERE? >> NOPE. >> WHY? >> CUZ WE'RE DONE WITH YOU RIGHT NOW. >> On the 11th of March, 2024, police received a report from Burlington about a male suspect allegedly shoplifting from the store. Officers approached him as he had just walked out the door, but they didn't expect things to quickly turn into a tense confrontation. >> What's going on, babe? >> Check this out. >> I'm not stealing nothing, bro. BRING HIM IN. >> BRO. >> Just going to hold him for a bit. >> I'M GOING TO >> JUST RELAX. >> BRO. >> HE CONTINUED to deny the earlier theft, but when officers checked, they found several important details and immediately relayed them to the store employee. >> Hey. I'm assuming that was the guy who's matching description that was concealing stuff. >> Yes. >> He took a duffel bag and then started concealing more items in that, right? Perfect. We'll get uh >> Just toss it. >> Was he putting stuff in the other backpack that he had on and the duffel bag or Okay. I'll go get it, babe. You're good. Yeah, I'm working on it, yeah. All right, what are your rights, bro? You have the right to remain silent and You said you can wave your rights and talk to the court of law. You have the right to this time to talk to a lawyer and have him present with you while being questioned. If you cannot afford to hire a lawyer, one will be appointed to represent you before questioning if you wish. Any time to exercise your rights and not answer any answer any questions or MAKE ANY STATEMENTS. DO YOU UNDERSTAND THESE [laughter] RIGHTS THAT I'VE EXPLAINED TO YOU? DO YOU understand these rights that I've explained to you? Uh, I'm assuming there's going to be more in the backpack, but this is the this is your guys's duffel bag, right? Okay. And then, who's the one that called? >> Um, I had her phone because I didn't have my phone on me, yeah. >> Okay, no worries. Officers continued searching his backpack where they found various merchandise along with medication bottles and suspicious pieces of foil. >> Oh, you get the picture. >> The man was then taken to the patrol car, but he still had no intention of admitting guilt. Instead, he became increasingly confrontational, voicing multiple objections because he believed it would prove his innocence. >> Did y'all go take the cameras up in here? Everything was being audio and video recorded on our >> So, so, okay, so people are letting me know that I got that I got a good chance here. CUZ WHAT AM I SAYING THAT'S WRONG? >> WHAT? >> DID Y'ALL GO TAKE THE CAMERAS UP IN HERE? >> NOPE. >> WHY? >> CUZ WE DON'T BELIEVE YOU RIGHT NOW. >> NO, BRO. Go look at what happened. >> JUST BRO, I DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE, BRO. I'M NOT COME ON, BRO. I'm not doing that. And I got the right for that. >> No, that's not how it works. >> What? >> Everybody else >> What? What? Okay, SO BRO, HE'S JUST BRO, that's what I'm saying. Did y'all GO CHECK THE CAMERAS? BRO, I FLAGGED HIM DOWN. HE CAME OVER THERE BEATING MY ASS. I'M NOT FINNA CHANGE MY STORY. IT'S THE TRUTH. >> I'M NOT A >> Y'ALL HAVEN'T EVEN TAKE THE CAMERAS YET. THAT'S AUTOMATICALLY WRONG. CUZ Y'ALL FALSELY ACCUSING ME. >> HEY, ANTONIO. We're not asking >> Bro, I JUST FLAGGED YOU DOWN TO TALK TO YOU. >> WHY CAN'T YOU JUST LISTEN? >> Come on, bro. You telling ME YOU WERE RIGHT THERE ROLLING. >> NO, I DIDN'T >> I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT Y'ALL DOING. Y'ALL LOOK LIKE A STUPID. I'M TRYING TO MAKE MY DAY GO GOOD, BRO. >> HEY, ANTONIO. >> I got a [ __ ] interview tomorrow. >> Nobody is asking you to say anything. >> Bro, come on, bro. For real. I'm just speaking I'm just speaking facts, bro. >> You have the right to remain silent. We're not asking you any other questions. >> What am I saying wrong that's going to incriminate me? I'm I didn't say nothing wrong. SO, WHY Y'ALL KEEP SAYING THE CAMERAS IS ROLLING LIKE I'M SAYING SOMETHING BAD? WHY? BECAUSE WHY? BECAUSE THAT'S THE TRUTH THAT HAPPENED? >> There's nothing >> Y'all trying to run FROM THE TRUTH. WHY DON'T Y'ALL GO CHECK THE CAMERAS? >> WE'RE JUST TRYING TO >> GO LOOK AT WHAT I WAS DOING WALKING AROUND THE STORE. >> Seeing himself as the victim of the officers, he made everything more difficult. Even when officers tried to switch vehicles for him, the process was unnecessarily delayed. >> My life is in danger right now, not yours. How was your life in danger? >> Okay, then we're going to take you out the other way. Okay. That's what you want? >> That's not what I want. >> Okay, then. >> I don't want to hurt you. I don't want to hurt myself. I don't want to hurt nobody. >> Then slide out this way. >> told him I'm the COOLEST PERSON OVER HERE. >> WELL, you're not, obviously. You're not. >> Look at this. He's just Bro, bro, that's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying. That's what was irritating me cuz y'all just treating me like I'm nothing. >> And you got to get a return on him now. >> Yeah, he had a cross on on his thing. That's how I >> Okay, you had a Washington. Had a Washington. >> Yeah. You turn around, you going to slide out this way? >> Yes. WHAT'S I FEEL SECURE. >> ON. We're not waiting anymore. Come on. Antonio, just slide out this way. For the 50th time. >> For the 50th first for the 50th first time. Bro, I don't come on, BRO. I DON'T TRUST DUDE. I DIDN'T GIVE I DIDN'T GIVE NO VIOLENT energy to dude. I just want to be like, "Hey, bro, what up in there? [ __ ] with me, bro." Basically. >> Okay. >> I don't want to be cool, bro. >> Antonio. >> Now y'all finna come on, bro. >> Come on. Slide out this way. >> In the end, Antonio Spivey was charged with third-degree theft and resisting arrest. Denying wrongdoing doesn't make the evidence disappear. Once a situation escalates, resisting lawful commands can turn a theft case into additional charges and make the consequences more serious. >> Do you want to go to jail? Is that how we want to do this? >> Will you wait a minute? >> to explain to you. They're trying to be nice to you. >> You know, you tried to kick Hugo, so that's felony. >> Yeah. >> Um >> And and it's >> And it's resisting with violence. >> On the 28th of November, 2025, police received a report from Walmart about a woman who had been skip scanning items inside the store. They waited for her to exit after she completed the transaction, then stopped her. Here's what happened next. >> So, ma'am, you're under detainment right now for shoplifting. So, you don't have a choice. No, you don't have a choice in this situation. You're legally detained under a lawful investigation. Can I see your ID, please? >> No. >> You're going to go to jail, then. It's obstruction. >> Take me to jail. >> I absolutely will. I'm not. I'm asking for your ID. No, ma'am. You absolutely will. >> No, I'm not talking to him. >> Absolutely, you are. >> No, I'm not. >> All right. Well, you can be under arrest, then. >> Just arrest me, ma'am. >> No. Your ID. >> I have My brother is out there, and he is very handicapped. >> I get that, but I just watched everything You ain't going to do this to me. I just watched everything at that man. >> She clearly showed how how she was being, and worse, her actions soon turned the detention into a chaotic struggle. >> Just Okay. No, you ain't putting the handcuffs on me. >> Yes, I am. >> Dude, no, you're not. No, you're not. You won't get the other hand. >> She quickly and absurdly portrayed herself as the victim, but she had no idea that her actions were continuing to expose her to more serious charges. >> And I'm medically disabled. >> You probably would have just had a simple test. >> You broke my arm while you were >> EMS come check you out. For a 40-week today. >> You had no reason to break my arm like that. >> Yeah, have EMS come out. >> Cuz you absolutely resisted. >> By law >> this out for you. >> No, and then you >> You snatched your hand. >> When I reached >> kick you. >> Yeah, you [ __ ] did. >> NO, I DIDN'T. >> YEAH, YOU [ __ ] DID. >> my person. >> I DON'T GIVE A [ __ ] RIGHT NOW, YOU DON'T DESERVE ANY DISRESPECT. >> YES, I DO. I'M A disabled person. >> And what does that mean? That you could you were you could kick us? You could resist all day? >> I can get first aid. >> I could get first right now. >> I know you don't, and that's why you called the poor cop. >> Exactly. >> And trying to detain her, she resisted. Put her hand up and I'm going to handcuff. >> Can you loosen these handcuffs up, please? >> No. I tried to be nice to you. I tried to ask for this. You told me no. I reached for it, you snatched your hands away, and you said, "You're not getting this." >> Well, I was going to give it to her. >> No. >> Please loosen these handcuffs. >> said you're going to talk to the cop. I have EMS on the way to check you out. They can bandage you up, and you're going to jail. >> Didn't do it. You want to try your best? >> This is the Lake City Police Department. They tried to kick Exactly. Then you went to kick my officer. So, now I'm done speaking with you. The only thing that I will tell you is how much of the items that you decided to pass final point of sale without even attempting to scan. >> Whatever. >> Where's the Where's the 40 Where's the other arm? >> He's out in the vehicle. >> No, um What do I do about my brother cuz he can't drive? >> Well, you better call him. >> Well, I guess we'll call DCF then. >> No, you may not call DCF on him. I'll call I'll call somebody to come get him. >> Okay, so relax. All I asked was a simple question for your ID and you said no. >> She acted as though she knew her civil rights inside and out, believing she had the upper hand over the officers, but she had no idea that they understood the law just as well. >> Time and time Yes, so EMS is coming. That's fine. You shouldn't have resisted. You shouldn't have kicked an officer. >> Please don't talk to me. >> Stop. >> to you. I got to talk. I have not It's a free country right now. I can talk just like you can. I can do the same thing. All right? >> And you're going to have to uncuff me so I can call somebody to come >> We're not going to uncuff you. >> No, we'll only We're going to give you the number and we're going to call them for you. >> No, I'll go out and tell my brother. >> No, you're not going to go anywhere. You're under arrest. >> I understand that. >> You're not going anywhere. >> You're going to have to take me right BACK THERE. >> WHAT COUNTRY DO YOU THINK YOU'RE IN RIGHT NOW? >> You need to be quiet. >> What country are you in? Bro. >> What country are you in? >> The same one that you're in that you're under arrest in and you're going to go to jail. Yeah, I hope so. >> You need to go back to your country. >> This country. >> We're not going to do that in my office. Absolutely not. >> Aren't you from the US? >> I'm from here. I'm born and raised in >> Yeah, I know, right? >> And I follow the laws better than she does. >> So, if you're going to make those comments, I very much advise you just keeping your mouth shut in my office. >> I can talk however I want. >> The woman could not argue against what the officer was telling her, but that did not stop her. Instead, she arrogantly shifted her attention away from the case and towards something else. >> Yeah, you're trespassing from Walmart. >> Will you please go out and tell my brother what's going on? >> No. Why would I do something so nice? When I was trying to talk to you, I was trying to talk to you and you did all this extra that didn't need to be done and now you're asking me to go out and do this? >> Yes. >> So what my brother has a stroke I just do nothing? >> No. You have to think this is going to be on you. >> No, this isn't. >> This is. You're the one that stole. You're the one that's on a legal detention. You put yourself >> I'm getting a misdemeanor. >> Okay, that's fine. So this >> This town is no better than Nixa than Willard. >> Why don't you come over here then? Probably shouldn't. >> Cuz you're an [ __ ] >> So what number am I calling? Take him to the hospital. >> I got to get my phone like now. >> All right, well after EMS gets here we'll go through that. Who said Who is it? Who's coming to pick him up? >> I have to have my phone to be able to tell you that. >> You don't have a name? That's all I'm asking. I never asked for anything more than a name. This is where the problem is. You're above everything. She doesn't want to go to jail but she's definitely going now. >> I don't care if I go to jail. I'll get out of jail. >> Uh You know, you tried to kick Hugo so that's felony. And and it's a And it's resisting with violence because you literally resisted. That's how your arms got cut up. >> In the end, the woman was charged with resisting an officer with violence, petite theft over $100, and battery on a law enforcement officer. Resisting or escalating a situation can turn a relatively simple shoplifting investigation into much more serious consequences. Cooperating with officers instead of fighting back can help prevent additional charges and complications. What do you think about cases like this?
