Growing up, I also had my own fears about police officers. >> Trying [music] to explain some of the fears the community has like reporting things [music] or even talking to police because there are so many, you know, stigmas about the community. >> I thought it was a great opportunity [music] to kind of bridge that gap and be able to speak up for the people [music] in my community and other Latinos like me. This space feels like a safe space for me [music] to bring concerns of the community and I feel like the officers are always very open-minded to [music] hear about what's going on and genuinely want to make an effort to make my community feel safe. >> It gives a voice to some people that might not think they're being [music] noticed or they don't know where to go. >> We want to make an impact as a community with the bureau, but we also want [music] to build the trust for our community to trust the bureau. >> People will report more stuff because they're not afraid of police. [music] So, I think overall that's the goal is that we are all safer if we work together.
