That's when you see crazy actions, resistance, and even desperate attempts to run. And that's exactly the reason behind the shoplifterss go crazy after they get caught stealing, featured in today's video. From each situation, we drew lessons from how the police dealt with these criminals. Pay attention and don't forget to like and subscribe to our channel. Starting with this shoplifter. Even in her intoxicated haze, she still knew how to twist the crime. >> Please don't touch me. Don't touch me. >> We're being put into handcuffs right now. >> No. No. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. >> Okay, ma'am. >> Okay. I saw you shake your head. >> On July 29th, 2024, police received a call from Ross Dress for Less about a woman refusing to leave the store. They immediately arrived on scene and spoke with an employee who revealed that she had many actions that were far from simple. >> Hello. Hi. >> Where is she right now? >> Uh she's back to the home section. So she's been here um she's been here a few times and we kicked her out. But right now we trying like you're being um discriminatory. >> Why is she saying that? She black or something? >> No, she's not. >> Okay. Uh so you've told her to leave. >> Yeah, I have. >> Okay. >> And she's just like no. And I was like are we waiting for someone? And I was like, >> "How about let's just let's just grab onto her, have her ID, and then we'll trust her." >> Okay, fine. Cuz we did see some stuff that was in her purse, but we don't know if it's hers or not. >> Is it from your store, do you think? Or >> I think so, cuz she came in here with an empty bag. >> Okay. >> And now that bag's not empty anymore. >> She also did have a ton of stuff in her car. And when we approached her, we noticed that like more than half of it. Yeah. >> Do you want her Do you just want her gone? Do what? out of the store. >> Do you want me to try to trespass her or just be like, "Get out of here." >> Just Yeah. Get out of here. >> Okay. Do So you And I I just want to make sure I understand. Do you want us to go through like the official trespass process? >> Oh, cool. All right. We'll scare her a little bit. And just so you know, she gets one opportunity. So, I'm going to say get your stuff and go. If she says no, if she does not start going, she's going to go to jail. Just so you know. >> That was the police's initial plan. And when they actually approached the woman, she was truly suspicious as everything confirmed by her words. No ID and no intention to allow her bag to be checked. >> How's it going? >> Oh, I'm all right. How are you? >> All right. They want you to to get going. >> Okay. That's not mine anyways. >> Okay. Sorry. >> So, what's in here? Do you want to show me what you have in there? Just make sure you don't have any Ross stuff. >> Oh, I'm okay. I don't have anything, though. >> Well, do do you mind showing me? Just Just so I can look. >> I kind of do. >> Okay. >> But I don't have anything. I just have other stuff that I wouldn't really want to see, like, you know. >> Oh, that's understandable. Well, sometimes we have some privacy. What's your f You have an ID with you? >> Um, I don't. >> Okay. What's your first name? >> Julia. >> Hi, Julia. Nice to meet you. Well, Julia, if you don't if nothing's going on, we'll get you out of here and you'll be on your way and you can go on with your life. Okay. Does that sound like a plan? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. I really hope I don't have anything. I think I might miss >> control 5241. Can you run a name, please? I'll let you know. >> Do you know uh what I was? >> No. No. >> The woman's anxiety grew and the difficulties for the officers began to emerge. Her attempt to flee subtly confirmed her wrongdoing and caused chaos across the store aisles. Julia Julia >> Julia, stop. Julia, stop. Relax. >> No. No. Take a breath. I don't have any breath. No. No. Don't Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. You're being put into handcuffs. >> No. No. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. >> Hey, let's lower. >> Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. >> On to the ground. >> No. Don't get off me. Get off of me now. >> Under arrest. Get off me now. Get off of me now. >> Hey, get off of me. Get off of me now. Get off of me now. >> No. No. No. No. >> No. Get off of me. >> Julia, send your arm out. Get off of me now. >> Get off of me now. No. Get off of me now. Get off of me now. No. No. >> Get off of me. Now, >> here's what's going to happen. Julia, >> get off of me. >> We're going to put your hands behind your back, okay? And we're going to put you in handcuffs cuz you're under arrest. You understand? Yes. You understand, right? >> Yes. >> Cuz this isn't going to get any better. >> You understand that, too, right? >> So, I'm going to release one hand. You're going to put it behind your back. >> Okay. >> You're going to lie flat on the ground right now. >> I got it. Can you get off my hair, please? >> Not on your hair. >> Well, you were. You were. >> Our code recover can slow down. Just need one additional unit. We have ear cuffs. >> Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ. >> At least. Let me take this one off. >> Y >> Julia, just so you know, so you can learn from your mistakes. I would The jail might not even have taken on your warrant. But now you're at now you're at a [laughter] felony. >> No. No. No. No. No. No. No. >> If you paid close attention, her slow speech and dazed gaze were signs of being under the influence of something. And at that moment, she even admitted it herself. >> Just the same stuff. Okay. I swallowed something. >> You what? >> I swallowed something. >> Okay. >> You swallowed what? >> My pills. >> Your pills. What kind of pills are they so we know what to tell the medic? They got to come take care of you. Can you speak up? >> You can't speak up. >> I don't know what kind of pills you swallowed. Like Advil or you talking drugs? >> Huh? >> Xanax. Oh, >> she says she swallowed some Xanax. So, we'll probably need MR. >> Just going to go right out this door. >> This way. Put your butt in first. I have blues. >> Huh? You got blues? >> No, I have them. >> You had them? >> Can you put your feet in? >> Scoot your butt up a little. Sit up on the chair. >> You got her. Yeah, I'll hang out here. >> Immediately after taking her into custody, police searched the woman's bag and just as they had suspected, while at this point she had completely lost awareness and showed no concern for the chaos she'd caused. What do I need to do? Um, >> uh, can you bring all this stuff in with the Ross tags and see if it's theirs? >> Yep. I'll check. >> Hey, can we check to see if this stuff belongs to the store? >> Yeah, that does. >> Yeah, >> from this store. I guess it doesn't really matter. >> Yep. Ross, >> it rings up. >> Ross, all right, ma'am. Ma'am, >> what's your first name? >> Julia. >> What's that? >> Julia. >> Julia. >> Can you please lay down? >> You have name, right? >> Can I please lay down? >> Can you what? >> Can I lay down? >> Uh, you're going to be all right. You can lay down. >> We're going to be out here in a second though when the Amar gets here. >> Still awake. Huh? >> I hear you. >> Okay. >> The suspect was charged with resisting arrest, theft, and criminal impersonation. Following her arrest, officers found out that she had assumed a family member's identity to evade recognition, leading to extra charges of criminal impersonation. When speaking with the family member, they confirmed that the suspect had used their identity twice, which had resulted in warrants being mistakenly issued under her name. Using someone else's identity to cover up crimes only worsens the consequences, leading to extra felony charges and trouble for others. Next, the couple familiar with the officers from church would soon meet them behind bars. >> Hey, how am I on? >> I'm trying to get it off. >> Oh, bro. >> Okay. >> I paid for everything I have. I got money. See, [music] mom steel. >> Thanks. >> On August 17th, 2023, police were dispatched to Burlington Coat Factory after receiving a report of a shoplifting incident. The two suspects included one man and one woman. When officers arrived at the scene, the man immediately ran upon seeing them, which led police to secure the entire area. >> Get on. >> Lay down, man. I'm Lay down. I'm laying down. I'm laying down in the valley. >> Lay on your face. I got contact the top of the partner. Lay down. >> I ain't going to do that. I ain't doing >> Lay down on your face. I'm not going to run, BRO. I >> GET ON YOUR FACE. I'M NOT. >> GET ON YOUR FACE. >> I'M NOT GOING TO rip for you, bro. Okay. >> I know you back. Put your hands behind your face. >> I know you. I'm not going to run for you, bro. >> All right, Jason. >> I know you, bro. >> I'm not going to run for you, bro. >> All right. >> I know you, bro. I'm not going to rip you. >> Put your hand face. Come on, bro. >> I know you, bro. I'm not going to run for you, bro. >> If any other try to run for you, >> I respect you up. You ran. >> I didn't know who you were. >> Okay. I'm 1095 with Jason. >> Where is you? >> You shoplifted. >> You shot lifting where? >> Burlington. They just called. That's why. >> I ain't even. Come on, bro. >> Also, does he still have locals? You get them locals? You get them warrants taken care of? >> What warrants? >> Okay. >> I don't got no warranties on. >> Okay, >> we'll check. See if you can still got You had some a little while back. What's that beeping sound? >> What you mean? >> Okay, we're going to come off this backpack. >> I can Where'd you get this backpack from there? >> I've been here my backpack. Okay. So, if I go in there, they going to say that you got it from there. >> Yeah, I behind that. >> So, if I go in there, they're going to say you got it. >> And I got a pair of shoes right there. Yeah. >> Okay. >> Get a pair of shoes right there. >> Okay. You know what I mean? >> Okay. >> I'm sorry for >> I bet you got You going to have to take that. >> Yeah. >> In fact, the man was quite familiar to the officers because they went to the same church. From the condition of the backpack he was carrying, the police also discovered something that exposed his lie. >> Bro, what? >> Come on. You got the You got the tag on. know what I'm saying? I I've been [laughter] I been got that bag though. >> Come on, man. >> I been got the bag. >> They take it off at the register, >> bro. I been got the bag. Okay, >> let me see if I can pop this off. >> You know what I'm saying? I just told I got some shoes. >> I got some shoes right here. Open it. >> I had a bad >> What's your birthday? >> Huh? >> What's your birthday? >> Face the wall so I can try to get this off. >> Fair enough. >> I'm not going. >> What's your birthday? >> Yeah. All right. Let me get >> All right. Hey. Hey. I'm gonna try to take handcuff off. We're gonna get it off. Face the wall. I can't. >> Go ahead, bro. Go ahead. But I'm not trying to run. >> Face the wall, man. It hurt my arm. >> I'm trying to get it off. >> Ah. >> Oh, bro. >> Okay. All right. >> Damn. I'm not trying to Oh, >> put this one back. >> Yeah. >> Put this one back. >> It is. You got it. I ain't trying to >> I know you. >> I ain't trying to resist. >> Okay. >> I'm not trying to resist on you, man. I'm not trying to resist. Why she's grabbing my arm? >> It's okay. Look, come on, bro. >> We going to put your hand. >> I go to the same church you go to, man. thing, man. I need to go to your far church, bro. >> Okay. All right. >> Got all the extra grabbing, man. >> Face the wall so I can put this handcuff on. >> I'm [laughter] Man, can you tell my um >> All right. I'm trying to run for you, man. >> All right. I'll hand you. >> All right. Now, do me a favor. You want to go sit in the car? >> Okay. Or actually, does one of y'all mind transporting? Tell my right to my wife. >> Okay. We going to see. I got to go back there and find out. I got to go back there and see what they said you took cuz it should be all good. >> They ain't see me take nothing. >> Okay. I haven't talked to him. You took off. >> At this point, another officer arrived at the store to make contact with the remaining suspect. Based on the statements the police gathered, including the suspect's denial. It seemed that this was a planned theft. >> Okay. Were they definitely together or she saw them last time? >> Okay. Has she been stealing today? Do you know the female? Hello. We've got a friend of yours in custody around [music] the corner. Um, do you have your license with you or an ID? >> Yeah. Why? >> Um, well, the store is saying that he was shoplifting. >> I'm saying why you got to have my ID? >> Yeah. So, they're saying that uh you've been with him when he done it before. >> I have not been with him. Like, >> I need your ID. >> Okay. Like what? I paid for everything I have. I got money. See, mom steal. >> Thanks. So, obviously they have pretty good cameras. I haven't asked them about it yet, but do do you have anything that you're not supposed to have that we need to get back to them? No, >> sir. I bought this stuff from Five Below right here. >> Okay. >> And I was going to go up there and buy my stuff from here. I haven't This came from Five Below. >> Okay. >> All this came from Five Below. You can check my purse. >> Okay. You said I'm I can check it. >> I mean I mean it's my right. Right. But yeah, I mean I obviously haven't done anything wrong. This >> Did you buy those from? >> But they came from Five and Below. >> Okay, >> you can't go ask them to wash the camera. I have done nothing wrong. >> All right. >> Even when she admitted her actions, her attitude was notable. She showed no sign of embarrassment and she even made statements accusing the police. >> Nothing because of somebody else. >> I'm just telling you what we have is that he was shoplifting. >> Okay. But yeah, I have I'm going to get my person cuz y'all been Y'all been harassing me for no reason. >> All right. >> Like I haven't done that. >> You forgot what was in this. Didn't you forget what was in this? Is that what it was? >> No, I didn't forget what was in it. >> Okay. >> I knew what was in it. But y'all harassing me for no reason. >> Okay. >> It ain't nothing but a bowl. Got no drugs in there. >> So, I mean, we wouldn't be out with you for no reason. So, there's a reason. So, it's not harassing you for no reason. Get out with you for a specific reason. Well, we have to figure that out. Um, so you're not under arrest right now, but you're just going to be detained. Okay, so just put your hand behind your back. >> Why? For what? Y'all look, don't do that. I'm pregnant, so be easy. >> Okay, we'll be easy with you. >> I'm not going to lie to y'all. >> Okay, I appreciate that. >> Well, I'm being detained, though. >> Um, so we can search your purse the rest of the way and um ask them about the rest of the stuff. >> That stuff claims below as well. You can do that. >> And you were going to buy this stuff, you said? >> Yes, sir, I was. >> Okay. Did he take any tags off stuff? >> No, I did not. >> No. Did he take tags off anything? >> I don't know. We didn't even come in the store. Honestly, our office didn't know he was in here. >> Right after the woman was taken away, the employee also revealed additional details and evidence showing that this was not the first time these individuals had done this. >> Yeah. August 4th. I took a picture of him in my phone. He did it on August 4th, too. Filled that red book bag up. >> Okay. Well, let's go ahead and get the details of all this. Is that wallet belong to you guys? >> No, >> it's not. >> But the bag, the shoes, everything else? >> Yeah. Everything else? Yeah. still got the tag. >> Okay. So, >> okay, >> let's go get a print out for all that so >> log that in the report. >> They're probably like, uh, you know, >> I'm sorry. >> What? [music] >> What's up? >> No, you're fine. I'm saying they're probably like, uh, there's two police sitting at the counter. I don't know if we want to be here right now. >> None of that car. Okay, let me just finish going through her purse to make sure, but like you said, I'm sure if she did have something, she would have just put it back. >> The woman was given another chance by the police to be honest about what had happened, but the outcome was still not as expected. >> Burlington Coat Factor with you and Jason. >> I I swear to God, I didn't y'all see the camera. I didn't even know he was in there to be honest. I swear on my key, we was not together today. >> Okay. So, if I go and review the cameras, it's going to show I got you. If I go and review the cameras, is it going to show you putting anything in your bags and taking them out? >> No, sir. It's not. >> Okay. >> It's on my kids. >> Okay. >> I got money in my wallet. I was going to buy that's why I had the red shirt and the blue jean with shoes. I was going to buy that outfit. >> So, you and Jason weren't together. You don't know anything about it. Is that what you're saying? >> On my We'll go back and review the camera footage and see. >> Secondly, um you didn't take anything? >> No, sir. I did not give anything. >> Okay. So, you didn't take anything and put it back? >> No. >> Okay. The stuff that from Five and Below, did you buy that? Yes, I did. I have my receipt in my pocket. >> What is this? >> This supposed to be a Xanax. Somebody had gave it to me and I I wasn't trusting it, so I didn't never take it. To me, I forgot this in my >> What's the other stuff? The multiolor stuff. >> Supposed to be a natural. I don't know. Is that yours? >> I never did take it. Somebody gave it to me. >> And I I'm so I didn't take it. >> How many months pregnant are you? >> They're over 9 weeks. So, they almost two two months. About two months in change. >> You and Jason still together? >> No. >> Okay. I'm trying to make sure I know that I'm pregnant. I thought I was pregnant >> by him or somebody else. Okay. >> This is my fifth child. >> I got you. I could charge you with both of those things, but since you're pregnant and you're cooperating, I'd like to work something out. Is there some a way you think you are you on paper? >> You think you could help me out with a little bit of information? Maybe >> I might have a couple questions. >> Okay. You got a phone number? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. So, if I let you go, can you call me tomorrow and we can talk more? >> Yes, sir. >> Cuz I mean, if if we talk about you don't want to cooperate, which is your right, you don't have to. >> The man was charged with shoplifting, resisting a merchant or loss prevention officer, and fleeing and eluding law enforcement. This woman showed no shame for her actions and even tried to blame the police. Despite being given multiple chances to be honest, she continued to lie, proving that her behavior was deliberate and [music] unrepentant. Next, we meet this fancy woman carrying nothing but confidence. >> And then she keeps walking back and forth, back and forth, checking to see who's looking to see who is up front, who is watching. No, she has a picture of her back. >> All right, sounds like a good plan. >> Good idea with you. >> On August 16th, 2025, officers were dispatched to the Rainbow Clothing Store after a reported theft had taken place. When they arrived, the suspect had already fled, forcing the officers to question the employees to uncover exactly what had happened. >> Okay. So, tell me what happened. >> So, she came in with a rainbow bag. That's how >> So, she already had a rainbow bag. >> Yes, that's how they do it. So, we think that, you know, get sidetracked and say, "Oh, they're coming out to buy something already and whatever." >> So, she went in the shoe department and um I had her go around where she was while I'm at up front here. And then she keep walking back and forth, back and forth, checking to see who's with to see who's up front, who's watching, not. So I went in between the um hallways there and I saw her putting stuff in her bag and then I approached her pair of shoes, >> an orange pair of shoes in the bag, >> orange pair of shoes. >> But I approached her and she I said, "Get that off your effing bag." I did tell her that and she took it and she dropped it on the floor and then she proceeded to leave and I said, "You have more stuff in your bag. Give it to me." >> She has a picture of her back. >> All right. Well, >> from the back. >> From the back. Okay, that's fine. Did you see anything? >> Yeah, I was right there, but I didn't see her putting stuff. But I was there. Watch. I'm the one on the >> side. has a short black hair with a big earring. >> Yes. Yes. Yes. Black hoop earring. >> Yes. And um black sandals. I don't know if she came in with that. She has black sandals with rhinestone on it. >> According to the employees, she seemed to realize she'd been caught. Yet, she still stubbornly walked off with the concealed merchandise in her bag. Using the description they provided, officers began searching for her. We are trespassing >> also from Lantana Police Department. Okay. Right now we're just making contact with you. All right. >> So don't go anywhere right now. You've been detained. >> All right. Sounds like a good plan. >> Your ID with you. >> Can I have your name? >> Tamika. All right. It's a M >> 5 to one. She has a short black hair with a big ear loop earring. >> Can I have your name, please? >> Um, so I just gave it to you. T A M I K A. >> T A M I K. Fast name. >> This is a legal detail. All right. One second. Let's do this. All right. We're not going to play this game right now. Okay. No, no, no. >> You're being detained right now. All right. >> I'm just asking questions. >> Well, I'm about to answer some questions. got a disability. >> You got a middle name? >> I told the lady in the store that I'm not. >> Do you have a middle name? >> Yeah. I put the shoes in the wrong box and she like, "Oh, put them back." I thought she searched my back. >> I put the shoes in the box. That was the only thing I touched in the store. I went straight to >> She showed zero remorse. Hands on her hips, denying everything. Since she just walked out of a fast food place, officers searched inside, suspecting she ditched the stolen items. Hey, >> can I get you for a second, ma'am? >> Can I get you for a second? >> No. What do you need? >> I need you to walk me into the female bathroom so I'm not walking down on anybody. We got to go. Whoever. >> Okay. What's up? Um, there's a lady who may have been shoplifting from Rainbow and we're just making sure she didn't stash anything in the bathroom. >> Rainbow. >> Yeah, the uh the clothing shop over there next. >> Hello. Yeah, she's we've got her outside. We just got to make sure she can stack. Outside, officers checked her bag and found the reported stolen items inside. Yet with the confidence of someone who thought she'd won, she denied everything. >> Where'd you get these? >> From that store yesterday. That's what I'm saying. You watch the video. I came in. So, I know you might have to check the camera. >> You got a receipt for it? >> Um, hell no. I'm walk from yesterday. >> If you can provide us with the receipt that you bought him yesterday, I'll let you go right now. But if you can >> n she I mean, she didn't stop me. She didn't say like she said I was trying to steal. She caught me with some shoes. Not with nothing else. Like the camera should show. They got to give you evidence that I stole, right? So the camera should show that. I didn't go nowhere. I only been in the store like 5 minutes. Nah, I don't even have the um See, it's another pair of earrings in there that was worn already. They're in there loose that came off of that clipboard. You could tell obviously like I'm not really taking off and on and [ __ ] >> The um the the sensor and stuff is already popped. I bought the rest of this. >> How'd you buy the earrings? >> Cash. >> Cash. They gave you a receipt. >> Yeah. >> Do you have it? >> Um, no. >> All right. >> That's how they gave me the bag. I got the bag. It's in the bag. You know what I mean? Store bag cuz it's legal. I mean, it's legal. So, >> at that point, officers made the decision to take her in. Even in the final moments, she refused to admit anything, carrying herself with an attitude that showed she didn't care about a single thing that was happening. >> Okay. What's this brown stuff right here? >> That's a cigar, bro. >> I can put her receipt inside my hotel room. >> What? >> No, she got some stuff in there. right there. >> Okay. >> Yeah, but I got a receipt here. I mean, it's just going to matter. We going to jail or not? Cuz the other stuff I know. >> Do you have anything else? >> What? >> On you? >> Oh, no. I don't have any new drawers or anything else to like. If I buy the earrings again, do you think she'll be okay with like dropping charges? I don't mind doing that either. >> In the end, the woman was charged with pettit theft. Her behavior offered a clear lesson. When someone refuses to take responsibility, the consequences only get heavier. Owning your actions early is always better than letting denial drag you deeper into trouble. Next, what happens when the family duo goes shoplifting together? Let go of your phone. Stay right there. Stay right there. Don't turn around. >> Damn, I done. >> Let go of your phone. >> Mom, both of us is going to jail right now. You got to get us out. Okay. >> On October 16th, 2024, officers were working undercover at a busy mall to investigate rising retail theft. By sheer coincidence, a theft unfolded inside a Nike store. The suspect slipped a pair of shoes into her bag and tried to walk out. Officers immediately gave chase. Here's what happened next. All right. Do me a favor. Stay right there. Put your hands down. >> Just like that. Let go your phone. Stay right there. Stay right there. Don't turn around. >> Damn. I done. >> Let go of your phone. What happened? What happened? >> It's still in the store. >> Okay. It's not. >> It's no problem. Got to get stuff. It's no problem. I don't have to Thank you, sir. >> I'm not ready to come my way. >> I appreciate that. >> All right. So, as you understand right now, you're detained for criminal investigation. Okay. >> Okay. Fine. Can y'all give me time to change my pants? >> That's right. All right. >> The way I grab me like I was like my >> uh make sure you put on some gloves yourself. It's in the bag. >> He's not paying, but he's actually paying for stuff. >> He's paying for stuff right now. All right. He's with you. >> That's supposed to be my mom, but he's actually >> Can you stay out here with me? The evidence was enough. She couldn't hide the truth behind her feigned calm. But the suspect didn't stop there. [music] Officers quickly intercepted the other man as he tried to play innocent, walking past them. >> Yeah, I saw her stuff the dunks and then >> Hey my guys, stay right there. Stay right there. Hand behind the back here. Walk toward the wall. Walk toward the wall. Keep walking. Keep walking. >> What's going on? You're right now for criminal investigation. All right. >> Stay water. Give me a second cuz they walk into the jail with my clap your hands together. >> All right, man. Step over this way. I'm going to talk down here. All right. Arena, you're detained for criminal investigation, man. All right. You know this girl right behind us? >> Yeah, that's my stepdaughter. >> Your stepdaughter? All right, man. So, it seems like there's a theft that just happened. >> Seems like involves you guys. >> Okay. What I got to do with me? >> Cuz you guys are together, man. >> Okay. We We together cameras, man. All right. If there's nothing get you out of the cable, we'll be done here. All right. That's all it is, man. All right, man. No weapons on you. Anything like that, man. I know about >> You have an ID on you? >> Um, yeah. >> Oh, I got it, man. It's in this [ __ ] area. I should be in my >> That's on your phone. >> I'll just go with your name instead if it's not. >> Okay. I don't feel >> That's all right, man. You said that's your daughter. >> That's my stepdaughter. >> That's your stepdaughter. All right. >> What? So, what took place? >> So, it looks like they're they observe somebody stealing from inside me. All right. I'll be truthful with you, Mr. Ward. All right. >> So, somebody ended up stealing some merchandise walking out due to the fact that both of you guys are together. They're trying to determine if it's one of you guys, if it's both of you guys, well, both of you guys are detained. All right. >> No, it ain't me. >> All right. >> Back to the woman. Even with the evidence in hand, officers decided to see if she would be honest about what happened. It quickly became clear they shouldn't have expected it. >> So, how did you obtain the item? >> Um, I went in the store. >> You what? >> I went in the store and paid the items. That's how I >> So, you took the items? >> Yeah. And what is that used for? >> That's just >> the pliers. What are they? That's just a normal car. That's not used for anything. I don't need it for anything to be used for anything. >> How many uh pairs did you take overall? >> That was just the two. Like I don't Yeah, I don't steal. Like I don't steal this morning >> this morning. No, this morning that was that was somebody else with me. My son was me, but somebody else was me. I didn't take those. I promise you. >> I have no idea. No, they not in my car. My son was with me when I went here, but we didn't take that stuff. It was somebody else with me. >> It was somebody else with me and that person have that merchandise. But I promise you I don't have that merchandise. >> Like I said, they got it to somebody else. >> Yeah. I don't I don't have it. I'm sorry. I don't have the merchandise. I don't have it. It was somebody else that was here with me. I don't know if they saw that person as well, but it was somebody else that was with me as well here. >> So, you knew they took it at the time? I'm not I wasn't in the store with them at that time. So, I'm not sure if they took it with them or not, but I was in the store with them at that time to know, okay, y'all going to go ahead and take this. I'm going to go ahead and take some like this. It wasn't that type of party like no. >> But but you were there at in the the whole Yeah, I was. She wanted to come to the mall. So, I said, "Okay, let's go to the mall." >> But under me and depression, I don't feel you look at my record, my record is clean. like I had one thing that happened to me one a long time ago that my record is clean. I have nothing on my record today. >> Her statements were a mess, as if she was under some influence. Even when she admitted to it, she brushed it off, claiming she was just copying a friend who had gotten away with it earlier. >> Were you referring to the friend from earlier? >> Yeah. So, saying I don't even know why the I did that to begin with. Is it something that Cuz you mentioned earlier that you didn't know that she was stealing here or she was stealing at the time. It was >> Yeah, we came here cuz she said she want to go to the mall. >> Okay. >> That's why we came here because she said she wanted to go to the mall. I'm not I'm not going to say I'm just dumb, but I'm naive to certain things until it comes to my face. >> But when she was here, okay, >> so yeah, that's it's influence really, ma'am. is nothing. This is not something that I do. Like I said, my record, the only thing you'll find find on my record is driving is a fail to appear type thing. >> Yeah. It's not even a fail to appear. That happened one time and I turn myself in. Other than that, it's driving. Other than that, I don't go to court. I don't have to go to court days. I don't have to get lawyers. I don't have to do none of that. Like, because I work, I do what I'm supposed to do and I go home. >> So, you saw that your friend got away with it earlier today. So, that kind of influenced you. So the two pairs that you took, was it like more for personal use to sell it forward? For what? >> No, to be honest, it was just her. It was just influence and that was it was for her, honestly. >> It was for her. >> Yeah, honestly. It was just influence and it was just for her to honestly. To be honest, >> so you stole for your friends. >> Being stupid. >> Being stupid. >> To be certain, the man was confirmed uninvolved in the theft. So officers made separate decisions regarding him. >> Do you knew of what she was doing? Okay. So, were did you partake in in any of this thing? Okay. Did you know if she was here? >> No. >> Uh at the mall prior to you bringing her here? >> No. >> No. Okay. Does aside from you, does she did she have a vehicle to come to uh to the mall herself? Like, why does she need you to drive her? >> Well, she came to the house and got my lady car. >> Okay. >> But whenever she did it, my lady had me to drive with her. She go, you know, ride with her. >> Okay. So, you know, she'll bring the car right back. >> Oh, cuz then she'll go elsewhere and not Okay. So, the whole purpose was to make sure that the car would come back home. >> Okay. So, it's nothing like I don't know like her license suspended or anything like that? >> I don't know. >> Okay. But were you driving the vehicle? >> No. >> She was driving? Yes. >> Okay. So, you were more for the vehicle for her to come back? >> Okay. But do you understand why we >> This is an ongoing and to my understanding, not that he had anything on him, right? merchandise or anything like that. But again, we're getting with them uh the employees and also with her. So, spoke with her already. I spoke with you guys with you and also um do my investigation. >> Let's confirm. He has nothing to do with this. >> The only downside, man, as you know, >> you got civil right. All right. But more than likely, you will be going. Just confirming it now. If it's nothing, then we'll get you out those cuffs as I said to you earlier. But if they want to see you, you'll be going for it. All right. And then they said it was 2500 bond amount during first appearance. They can decide if they're going to lower that or they lower nothing. And they ain't going to never get it. [ __ ] down. Okay. >> Civil procedures still required him to be held while the investigation wrapped up. At that moment, he got to see his daughter. Now, pay attention to the conversation with the family's mother. What do you make of both their attitudes? Drop your thoughts in the comments below. Just going to play around here or no >> going to jail, man. Where? Where? Where you at? >> Um >> I hit by >> the outlets. The premium outlets. >> Bridge. Yeah. >> I What? >> I bridge. >> Guess you have to go get both of us. >> What the hell is going on? >> Mom, both of us is going to jail right now. You got to get us out. Okay. Both of us are on our way to jail right now. Most of us will have a bond right now. So, either you could go up to the jail right now or either you could I don't know. You could wait till we get there to go up there, but I rather you go up to the jail right now so you can go ahead and have the bond ready. >> In the end, the woman was charged with theft. No matter the excuse or peer influence, trying to cover up theft only makes the consequences worse. Integrity matters. Actions have consequences and lies never pay off. Even worse, after embezzling a huge sum, the woman still believed her lawyer could shield her. >> Let go of the phone now. >> No, I'm on the phone with my lawyer. >> Let go. >> I'm on the phone with my lawyer. >> Let go. >> When can I call my husband? [laughter] >> I'll let as soon as we get >> and my lawyer. On December 12th, 2022, authorities received a report of a million-doll fraud case that had begun with a female financial manager at a company allegedly embezzling a total of 1.36 million from 2017 to 2023. The scheme involved her exploiting access to payroll systems, company accounts, and financial records to funnel money directly into her personal bank account. By late 2022, in just 6 months, she transferred over $380,000, 12 times her expected salary. The company uncovered the fraud, but she admitted only to signing forged checks, denying any wrongdoing. By May 25th, 2023, police obtained a search warrant for her home, and the investigation took a dramatic turn. >> I don't know. THE POLICE SEARCH WARRANT. ACCOUNT. Police search warrant. >> He's coming. >> Yep. He's coming. >> OPEN THE DOOR. >> POLICE. OPEN THE DOOR. >> Open the door. I have a search warrant. Open the door. >> Yes. Open the door or you're going to I'm going to break your door. Sure. >> Okay. Anyone else home? >> No, it's just me and my dog. >> Can I please see the warrant, please? >> Yep. We'll give you a copy. >> What is this? >> Is your husband home or your children home? >> No, my children are at school. >> Here, sure. >> Go and step out. upset with my partner and we're here. I got to explain everything to you. Okay. We have to make sure there's no one else here. So, >> I have to step out. >> Yes. >> Clearly, the police had to wait for some time before the woman opened the door and it seemed like she had prepared something for this situation as she had already contacted her lawyer. >> Let go of the phone now. >> No, I'm on the phone with my lawyer. >> I'm on the phone with my lawyer. >> Let go of the phone, please. Thank you. I'll stay. >> I'm going to hang out with you. Okay. >> Can you please explain to me what's going on? >> Yep. There's a search for your house. Okay. I have an officer that's going to talk to you once we make sure that everything's safe in here. Okay. All right. There's no one else home. There's no kids home. Anything like that? >> No. >> No. But >> is your husband home or is he working? Okay. >> Can I call my lawyer at least? Like >> Yep. You can do that. Okay. But we're going to work on it today. >> So, I have to wait until you guys give me my phone. >> There's a search warrant signed by a judge that says that we will be searching. >> Okay. Max. Max, you got upstairs. >> Yeah, I'll hold it. >> I'm going to go right. What do you think about the scene in her house? According to the report, the woman had been purchasing luxury items online using the company's account. Could it be that those very items were the ones piled up in her home? >> I'm going to left. Clear. >> Clear. >> Are there any weapons in the home or anything like that? >> Yeah, my husband has conceal carry. >> Yeah, they're locked up though. >> I'm I'm pretty sure. Yeah. >> And he's not here. >> No. Okay. here. >> Can I at least call someone to get my kids still from school? Like this is delay in the process if I can't call them and at least say that. >> When do they get off school? >> Uh my kid gets out of school at 12:00. >> Okay, we got a little bit of time for that, but I will make you let you make phone calls for that. Okay, it's 9:30. But if he's out on a truck run, why can't I call him and just tell him to get back here now? I I don't have anyone in decus. holding the search warrant in her hands. She probably never imagined that such an unexpected day would come after so many years of success in her fraudulent actions. Shortly after, the police issued a formal statement to her. >> How long you lived? >> Uh 3 years now. >> At this point in time, unfortunately, I'm going to have to have you come down the station with me. Okay. >> For what? >> Huh? As for right now, you're in c you're in custody. You're under arrest for theft as of right now. Okay. So, I'm being charged >> as right now. Yes. >> Okay. So, when can I call my husband? >> I'll let as soon as we get down there and I know you have a lot I know you have a lot of questions and I want to be as accommodating as possible. Okay. So, as soon as we get down there says we'll sit down, we'll have a talk and uh when everything's everything's situated, like I said, I can answer questions for you and I'll let you make my phone calls you need to. Okay. >> So, who's all under arrest? >> Who's all under arrest? Who's charging? >> As of right now, you're the only one here. So, as of right now, you're the you're the only one that's being charged. >> Who else would be charged? My husband will be charged. >> I don't at this this point in time. This is I'm just concerned about talking to you. Okay. >> You said he would answer more of my questions. >> He will. He will. We've got to do this part first. We will talk to you more at the police department. So, for now, >> put your hands behind your back. >> So, I So, when can I make my my phone call? Because my kids get out at 12. >> Step forward, please. Thank you. Pull your sleeve up a little bit and your hair out of the way so we don't get stuck in there. Okay. The assets seized after the search included $116,000 worth of jewelry, multiple necklaces valued between $1,000 to $155,000. A $20,000 diamond ring, $35,000 pairs of earrings, and about $500 in cash and coins. Financial records revealed over $43,000 in forge checks and fraudulent direct deposit slips [music] along with Amazon shopping bills totaling $28,500 purchased using company funds. The woman was charged with theft, misappropriation of financial institution property, continuing financial crimes enterprise, and three counts of forgery. Abusing trust for personal gain leads to severe consequences, financial loss, and criminal charges. Honesty protects both reputation and freedom. The next pair of thieves even ran away just to claim they hadn't done anything. >> Hey, stop. >> I didn't do anything. >> Get out of the car. >> I didn't do anything. >> Get out of the car. >> What did I do, sir? >> On May 14th, 2025, police received a report of a theft at Best Buy, where two suspects had caused a loss of $7,000. When officers arrived, the pair split up. One sped off in a vehicle while the other fled on foot. Police immediately launched a chase and cut off both suspects before they could escape. >> Hey, sir. Sir, come here. Don't do it. 18023 is running southbound. >> Hey, STOP. STOP. Don't move. Turn around. Turn around. >> I got good stomach. >> Okay. Good. You got him. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Come on. Turn 180. You got 105. >> STOP THE CAR. STOP THE CAR. GET OUT. I didn't do anything. >> Get out of the car. >> I didn't do anything. >> Get out of the car. >> What did I do, sir? >> Now, put in park and get out. >> Hands above your head. >> What did I do? >> You're being detained. Come here. >> I didn't do anything, sir. I didn't do anything. >> Hey, what did I do? I didn't do anything. >> This is her glasses. Can I give her glasses? >> Nope. >> Her glasses, bro. >> Get in the car. >> I didn't do anything. >> I didn't do anything, sir. >> Although she said she did nothing, her attempt to run and the mans proved otherwise. And even the employee seemed to recognize them. Hey, >> just so you know. They got they got words everywhere, man. We got all kind of information. >> Thank you, sir. We'll take that from you in a second. >> Thank you. >> You good, bud? >> What's going on, bro? >> I'm not your bro. >> I'm sorry. I forgot I was talking to you. Sorry. >> Who you put on? >> We'll talk to you in a second. >> What's going on? >> Why'd you run? >> What you mean? >> Why'd you run? >> Why' you Why'd you chase me? >> I didn't chase you. You ran. >> Okay. >> Okay. [clears throat] Right. You want to play that game? Yeah. Let >> me get you. >> How much are they? >> Uh 180th. Well, all in total across what he stole probably like 15 grand. >> Yeah, they took like 15 uh 12 grand. >> We just so you know, we got warrants from every county, bro. I mean, we got Port St. Lucy. >> You got >> Hell yeah. >> Well, not so No, not warrants, but like bolos. We have an AP alert system, but Yeah. >> Yeah. They've been looking for them for a lot a lot of places. Seven grand man already. >> Yeah, we have the property here. Just hold on to this though so we can document and stuff like that. >> And then we have the other video of and all the other stuff he can show you that too. >> He has put it like on a >> Yeah, we can put it on >> he's doing it right now. >> Um >> so as I I'm talking to you, he was walking out. >> Yeah. >> He went behind that blue truck and I was calling him out like, "Hey, come here." And then he takes out his waistband and dumps it on the floor and he takes off. God damn it. >> Although denying anything seemed impossible with the confirmed loss already on record, officers still separated the pair to see whether any honest confession would surface. Starting with the woman first. >> So So what what did what happened? >> I didn't do anything. >> Let's start from the beginning of >> I just went into this store and that's it. I didn't do anything. I didn't take anything. I don't understand why I'm being detained right now. >> Okay. >> I didn't do anything. I don't know why you putting me in handcuffs for not doing anything. >> What's that? >> I just don't know why I'm in handcuffs. I didn't do anything. >> Okay. >> We're going to get to that. Okay. So, what happened inside Best Buy? Why would >> I don't know. >> Okay. Who was he to you? >> My boyfriend of long time. >> Your boyfriend? >> Not really a good choice, but >> All right. And what happened with your boyfriend? >> I don't know. I'm not >> So, where were you when >> I was in this whole car? >> Okay. >> Okay. >> All right. All right. Well, we're going to get to that, okay? Cuz obviously there's something else going on. Okay. What did you see your boyfriend do anything? >> I wasn't in there with you. >> You were inside the car the entire time. >> Yeah. And the guy like held a gun to me. Like I don't even I don't even know like what is that? >> Although she denied taking part in this wrongdoing. What the employee had gathered told a different story. This wasn't her first time. On April 30th, she had done the same thing, causing a loss of $1,000. >> My manager that's exporting the video. Okay. cuz we can't figure it out on our system right now cuz it's a newer system. We're all not familiar with it. He's going to pull the video tomorrow. Is that okay? >> This should be fine. >> Okay. And you witnessed this happen. >> Um so I saw him grab something from the shelf. >> Okay. >> Um he went over to appliances. I have clear video of him trying to take the spider wrap the security device off of it. He took it off, put it on a bay stack near vacuum cleaners and went to go tuck it. And then he walked out and that's when uh Sergeant Hlet >> Yeah. I started let Dwayne I think his name high school. >> Um but that's when he ran and he tackled him. He dropped it right there near under the tire of a handicap car that was parked up there. Um yeah. >> What was the female's part in all this? What was she doing inside the store? >> Long story short, they stole about $1,700 from us about 2 weeks ago and we have a system called Aura or AP Alert. They've hit multiple Best Bu 17 grand of just random product. Everything from Dyson Air Wraps to audio equipment. Do you have them on video with those? >> Not on those ones. So, my GM is getting in contact with our higher up AP manager to like I guess communicate with you guys. But as far as like what happened at this store, my manager tomorrow is going to pull video film of it for you guys tomorrow. >> Okay. >> To verify the truth, officers checked the items in the back of the woman's vehicle and uncovered several suspicious goods. She was questioned immediately, cornered with evidence that left her with no room to lie any further. Ju just just be honest with me because it might just be if we just get him and I you might be helpful. So what has been going on? Where have you guys been going to? Because we talked to them. They have a communication with a lot of different different Best Buys >> and they have been tracking you guys for months. >> I don't Okay. >> I don't know what >> So what is all the stuff in the back of the the the rental car? >> The back? >> Yeah. That that curig thing. Is that yours? >> It's mine. >> Okay. Did you pay for it? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Do you have a receipt for it? >> No. >> Okay. So, am I not going to ask another agency that has that the same one stolen and they're going to tell me that it's not stolen? You sure about that? Because they have records of all those. All the serial numbers on those things are all tracked. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, do you what did you which car did you pay for it with? >> Paid it with cash. >> Pay with cash. Okay. >> But it was a while ago. Okay. How long ago? >> Like probably 3 weeks ago. And it's not >> Where's it from? >> From Best Buy. >> Where's it from? >> Um like a Marshall. Marshall. >> You guys carry that bread? That's not >> He unlike the woman showed zero cooperation. He invoked his right to remain silent and shut down every single question the officers asked. >> What happened inside there? What? >> I don't want to talk. >> You don't want to talk? >> No. Okay. All right. >> Yeah. Yeah. You can take him out in your car. >> All right. Step out. >> Oh, yeah. >> Not yet. >> Not yet. Right now. >> Okay. How did you get here today? >> In the car. Where were you sitting at inside the car? >> Passenger seat. >> Passenger seat. Where at? >> Where at? >> Front. Rear. Where? Where? >> Passenger seat. I just told you. Do you do you use drugs? >> Yes. >> Okay. What kind of drugs do you use? Heroin. >> Heroin. And what about him? >> And Xanax. >> Heroin and Xanax. Have you used any today? >> Yes. >> Now listen. We're going to have a female search you. Is there anything on your person right now? >> No. Nothing. >> Okay. Is there any in the vehicle? >> No. >> There's a there's a guy asked me >> gentleman asked me. >> What's that? Bill. >> No. No. No. The gentleman asked me if there was anything. >> Okay. So, in the passenger door, there's a baggie with a white powdery substance. What is that? in the passenger door in the front of the vehicle. >> Powdery substance. >> Yeah, it's like a white powdery substance. >> It's supposed to be like Molly, but it's nothing. It's like some China. >> Is that yours? His? >> It's not mine. >> Okay. But you know exactly what it is. Were you Were you going to both use it? >> No, I don't use I >> But how do you know what it is then if we weren't going to use it? Cuz you literally just told me exactly what it was. In fact, that pile of pills belonged to the male suspect. Though she never dared confirm it was his, she only rushed to deny it wasn't hers. And then came the real twist. Officers uncovered an entire handwritten journal documenting her own theft spree. >> So if I were to send your picture out to every department in the entire state for Hobby Lobby, Burlington, and Targets, you're not going to be a suspect in any any theft from those stores. cuz it says it says you sent out. What? How do you How do you obtain this stuff to sell? >> Is this your notebook? >> No, >> this isn't your notebook in your car. The the Hello Kitty like the bag you're on camera carrying. Hello Kitty. These Hello Kitty notebooks aren't yours. >> Oh, those are really old. I mean some of the dates are 325 2024 which is not that old. Is this not your handwriting? >> That's my handwriting. >> That is >> that's my handwriting. Those are my books. Stuff I >> like you're looking at stuff that really has nothing. >> So well let me let me explain to you. >> Like there's like nothing in there. Like I don't understand. You're going through my like personal like >> Well, we we can search your vehicle. >> I don't care. You can look at anything. It's just things I want at Hobby Lobby. I mean, you can go to every Hobby Lobby and see if I still want anything. No. No. >> Okay. Well, the reason Let me explain to you why I >> No, you're just frustrating me cuz like that's like that's like silly stuff. >> Well, stealing from numerous Best Buy is also silly stuff. But here we are, right? >> I guess. >> I mean, I didn't put you in this position, did I? >> No. So, don't get mad at me for a decision that you made. Correct. In the end, the male suspect was charged with resisting arrest, felony grand theft, possession of controlled substances, first-degree petit theft. The female suspect was charged with grand theft. Denying wrongdoing won't erase evidence. Past actions, physical proof, and documentation will catch up. What do you think about cases like this? Next, this man would prove that regret only comes when it's already too late. >> Now, is 2100 grand? >> I wouldn't be prosecuted if I would be able to pay it back today. >> He lives too close to here. I would rather prosecute. He's a liar. He's >> on May 22nd, 2024. Police were called to Walgreens after an employee was caught secretly transferring money from customers gift cards to his own account. Thousands stolen. When police arrived, the suspect was unusually calm. >> Who we brought in the office for? Um, are you asking me that, sir? >> Tell them what you did. I >> So, um, I >> um bring up some some gift cards to pay for my school and things like that. However, not pay for that. Okay. So, >> okay. So, we're looking at a theft from the from the business >> and they said that there's a possibility that the c the company will let me pay back which I'm willing to do. >> And they said that there's a possibility that um if you're okay with that >> right now is 2100 grand. >> I wouldn't be prosecuted if I would be able to pay it back today. on the spot. >> So, I think that would be terminated. >> I I couldn't negotiate anything like that. Um, that's not really my job, per se. As far as if you do this or that, charges may or may not be pressed. >> At at this point, he doesn't have $2,100 on. So, the company does want to proceed with prosecution, >> but I would see. >> Okay. That's not his now. Now, it's we're past that point right now. The man still tried to change the outcome of his wrongdoing, calling his family for money to pay everything back. But Walgreens representatives and management had a different demand in mind. They believe that he's going to $2,100 today. Even if he did, >> even if that's what I'm saying. Even if you did, I I can't tell him or tell you guys, hey, if you pay this money, we won't pursue charges. This is a lawyer. He said, and it's up to what it is. Walgreens wants to be a victim where Walgreens just wants to terminate and trespass an employee. >> You want you want to trespass also maybe you want to prosecute. We want to know okay we're not going to talk he lives too close to here I would rather prosecute. He's a liar. He's like just prosecute. >> And you know what? When I first started talking to him, he knew what asset protection was. He knew what was he terminated as his company cuz no, he he knew what asset protection was. He knew what drink was. He he almost described my job at the beginning, you know. So, >> okay, >> just tell him. He keeps repeating the same thing over and over. The thing the thing is is that he's and I get it, but that's he's afraid that it's going to mess up his career going to school that he should have thought about that long before he did this, >> right? That's not my goal. >> Time that you guys should probably have a discussion right now and then let me know. Okay, >> we're going to prosecute. >> Moments later, police returned and handed him the official charge for his crime. It was something he had always known he would face once gone. Yet he still chose to commit the act anyway. >> How does it work with with loading the gift cards? >> Oh, you just typing it and then >> Okay. Just >> So So describe to me what you were doing with the gift cards. >> Take the action. >> Yeah. >> Um just scan it >> and then just type in the >> Is it like a sale? You scan it like a sale? >> Yeah. Okay. And then and then you load it. You load the gift card through the register. >> You just type type the amount and then >> you just like proceed with the transaction. >> Okay. And then you complete the transaction, >> right? >> And then you just there's no like touching of like any like money or >> No, not physical money cuz it's it's loaded up on the gift card >> and then you would keep the gift card, >> right? >> Okay. Without paying the money into the register, >> right? >> Okay. You know that's wrong, right? You know that that's theft from from a business who's already paying you a paycheck, who's trusting you to to work for the store on their behalf, right? Isn't going to do anything cuz we've already had that conversation and the decision has already been made. Okay? That's why like had this hypothetically had this just been a one-time deal and then you came back, oh my god, I'm so sorry. This is what I did. Here's the money back. You know, no harm, no foul. Maybe this could have been a different scenario and you may have just been terminated. >> But the weight of the consequences seemed to shake him. Anxiety filled his face as he worried about how this mess might affect his parents. >> Call a friend to bail me out. Is there a way I could do this without >> my parents? Without your parents. That's what I'm saying. Like, is there a way I could do this without my parents? >> Potentially without them even knowing. >> Well, that's what I'm saying. Yeah. You're an adult >> for real. >> Yeah. So, you can call your friends. I wor >> Can I write their numbers down? >> You can give me the opportunity. Yes. Yes. >> But yes, you can contact friends and friends can come. It doesn't matter who comes and pays cash. >> The only thing is the only thing is >> I don't have any friends out here. They all live in like different states like New York and Georgia. >> Okay. >> So that's that's why I actually >> Well, then maybe one of them will have to call a bondsman on your behalf, >> right? >> They can explain the charge and where you're at. >> A friend that wants to put a coll. That's the thing. >> And then they can pay the bondsman and then the bondsman >> Yes. can >> yeah bondsman will come pay take take care pay the cash if they can get a hold of a bondsman >> otherwise you will they do o maybe they may release you in the morning or they may release you on your own which basic >> what happened when I got arrested the first time I think it was o but my parents >> soon after the man was charged with grand theft facing 1 to three years in prison thousands of dollars in fines and required to repay the value of the stolen property. This case was a hard lesson. Feeling remorse only after being caught red-handed is far too late. Think before your actions turn into lifelong regret. >> I have plenty of money to buy whatever. That's the That's not That's why I'm pissed off right now. >> This time you're under arrest. >> Are you serious? On April 23rd, 2023, officers quickly stopped a family leaving Universal Studios after reports that one of them walked out with a pile of unpaid merchandise. Here's what happened next. >> If you want, you can take the kids. Office is right around the corner. >> Can you take the kids and we take the stroller and her back then? >> That other bag? Possibly. Stolen possibly. >> So, he's apparently looking for receipts. I just want to ask He didn't pay for a backpack. So, he's going to find the receipts. >> Whatever, babe. Whatever. I'm already here taking everything for you. So, thanks. >> All right. I'm just going to read you something because you're >> When officers approached the mother, she acted busy calling family to prove she had receipts, completely ignoring them. Her excuse for accidentally taking the item sounded reasonable, but could it really be that simple? >> Okay, so why did you take the backpack? You know, >> I should have I should have left it in there. I came to get her card out of her little Wolverine. um fanny pack. >> Okay. So, she >> my daughter's in the store. She said, "My fanny pack's there. I just got it, went across the street." >> So, who's with the stroller? >> My husband was supposed to be with the stroller. My 15-year-old used the restroom. So, I got back. He's gone. My 15-year-old standing there with our stroller. >> Okay. And then, so you left the store with the backpack to get >> her card out of her back for her backpack that she >> Where was your purse at? your your coach purse. >> That was on me. >> Okay. So, that has money in it. Why wouldn't you pay for it? >> Because she's spending her own money. She's had water bottle sales, chocolate sales. She wants to spend her money. That's our money for competition. >> Okay. >> So, I have plenty of money to buy whatever. That's the That's not That's why I'm pissed off right now because I have the money. >> Okay. >> She has her own little cash app car with her own little money. >> Does your daughter have a phone? She claims she thought her daughter had already paid for the items, calling it a misunderstanding, then proudly insisted she had plenty of money and no reason to steal. >> Does your daughter have a phone? >> Uh, yes. >> Okay. And you had a phone? >> So why wouldn't you call your daughter to come into the store? >> My daughter was with me. She was with me. >> So why wouldn't she go out to get her money? >> I'm not going to let my dad walk out of the store. So stay right here by the door when she was standing by the door as she watched me look for everything. I'm talking to my kid about where their dad is when they get there because he's not there. So, as I'm having the conversation with the backpack, then they come up to me and this is not She was buying more stuff. She was holding more stuff in the store that she was going to purchase, too. So, it wasn't just the backpack she was going to buy. >> What? So, the the distance of what, maybe 10 ft. You didn't feel comfortable enough leaving your daughter in the store? >> No, she stayed in the store. >> Well, that's what I'm saying. I'm sorry. You didn't feel comfortable enough to let her go to the stroller where your older son was at? No, I wanted to make sure all my kids I did not see my I didn't see him there. That's why I walked across because it was only my >> four-year-old, my three-year-old, and my 15-year-old son, so I didn't see him. >> Do you ever do you ever leave your daughter alone with your >> No, my Yes. >> Okay. So, >> he was with my babies. >> Okay. But if you saw him with the stroller, like you just said, he was standing there in the stroller with the baby. Then why would you feel comfortable >> letting your daughter walk to the stroller to get >> I don't know. >> I I'm just trying to understand. >> Then cross the line. Just go across, get her thing, and come back, buy all the stuff she wanted. >> So it's like you just slipped up and you just forgot to put the >> She claimed the backpack belonged to her daughter and said she only stepped out to grab a payment card. But when asked why she didn't call her, her story shifted to being lost from her husband and kids. >> All right, so tell me about all the other property that was on the stroll. >> Like I said, everything was there. I've been into Moles. I went into Crusty Burger. I ordered my son this. My husband's by myself with my daughter. So what he did, I >> did. You buy that today? >> They had the receipt for this. >> Yeah. But did you buy that today? >> Yes. >> Okay. So you bought that today. The receipt for that is in your bag. No, they already showed it. They took it out. >> Yeah, I know. Cuz I found it in your bag. Okay. Why wouldn't the receipts for the other merchandise be in your bag? >> This is all I bought. >> Okay. So, where did the other merchandise? I don't know. My husband's by himself. >> Okay. But you're in possession of the stroller cuz I walked Okay. My husband was standing with the stroller with all my kids. I walked across thing looking for my husband that had the stroller and he was gone. That's why I told my oldest son where I'm not asking about the backpack anymore. I'm asking about all the other merchandise that was found in the stroller. >> I don't know. >> So that just you were never with your husband in any other store. All that. >> So why don't why aren't there any receipts for that? >> There might be. He said the everything ET he has receipts for which he's looking for right now. But he said that he took two backpacks is what he told me. So I'm reaching him out right now. He said all I did was take two backpacks. >> Okay. How much money did he bring with him today? How much he bring with him today? Thousand maybe >> $1,000 in >> cash or card. >> Officers pressed her about the stroller packed with tagged items and no receipts. She quickly blamed her husband, claiming he paid for everything with $1,000 in cash. A story that only raised more doubts. >> So every time he went into a store, you guys What did you do? >> What did he do? What did I do? >> What did you do? >> Walk my kids around and see what they wanted. I've only been to two stores. >> Okay. So, you were So, like you said, none of the cameras of the stores will show you with him at any point. >> No. >> In the store? >> No. >> Okay. >> I mean, that's a lot of merchandise and a lot of that stuff has the security tax still on it. Did you not think that was weird why it had security? >> I didn't look at anything he bought. He was like all excited. I bought this for so and so. I bought this for so you find it weird that >> So, I thought that he had money. He bought it. >> Did you find it weird? >> Yeah. So, I didn't think anything of it at all. Did you find it weird that he brought the merchandise to you not in bags? >> They were in bags. >> Well, when we were standing out here at the restroom, he walked up and none of the merchandise he had in his hand was in bags. >> When he walked up, I didn't see when he walked up, but every other time he's walked up to me, he has had bags. >> She blamed her husband to save herself, but the truth was about to turn against her. Watch how security proved he was never the thief. So, real quick, just to kind of hear where I'm going, um, you saw her in the stroller walk in with the stroller and all those bags. >> No, no, the stroller was over at the restrooms when I first clocked her. I was walking up uh from uh north deeper into the park approaching the restrooms and the I was in the street approaching restroom on my left. >> You saw her take from the store was that back? >> Yes. So, what I saw is I saw her with the stroller. I saw her leave the stroller across the street, walk from the stroller into the store. Since I had observed there was a lot of merchandise in the store, I thought I'd walk just walk into the store as well just to observe what she did. I observed her approach the display for the backpack. Observe sling the back over pack over her right shoulder and observe her exit the stroller without paying and go directly back to the stroller. When she was at the stroller, she took possession of it, tried to bag up the backpack that she had not paid for in a bag that was hanging from the stroller. Gotcha. Um, so when you went, so you said you you left the store, you walked over to the restrooms um to check on your kids. >> Well, not to the restroom, to my stroller. >> But I mean by the restroom, right? So you walked over there um and you're to check on the kids, right? >> Well, to get the card out of my my her card out of her bank back on. >> Oh, that's right. Yeah. >> Then when I saw the dad was missing, I'm like more focused on where why do you need my kids? Security confirmed she walked out with the backpack and tried to hide it in the stroller bag. Flustered and defensive, she called it a misunderstanding, but her shifting story only made things worse. >> That's how I am. I've never stole anything in my whole life. >> Is he still out there? >> Her husband counterpart. >> Yeah. >> Okay. I'm going to go talk to him. Um I might be more inclined if he admits to taking all of it. taken instead of the kids. >> Okay, that's understandable. >> Just because >> I was getting the same sense that maybe he was doing more of this, but her crew steel. >> I still think she she I think she's she's a part of it because she >> she still won. >> Her so-called clean record was about to collapse as officers concluded she had taken part in the theft herself, even if her husband might have been the one behind it all. >> This time your vehicle is under arrest. Are you serious? My daughter's competition. >> Can you leave her property with her husband? >> So, I just want to get something I didn't do. >> Uh, well, I mean, you did walk out of the store without paying for merchandise. >> I can pay for it, but I have money. >> Well, that's the problem, ma'am, is that after the fact, after the crime's committed, everybody wants to uh to, you know, rethink their initial decision. >> I've missed my daughter's competition. I've never been in handcuffs. It feels so weird. >> I'm just embarrassed of my kid. >> When officers informed her of the arrest, she broke down, begging for another chance. But the decision was made. The law doesn't change just because she regretted it too late. She was charged with thirdderee grand theft for stealing over $1,100 in goods, a felony carrying up to 5 years in prison, probation, and thousands in fines. This case is a harsh reminder Think before you act because one reckless choice can turn a simple mistake into a lifelong regret. >> I'm not going back inside. I have done nothing wrong. I've lived here for 9 months. I have nothing. >> Right now, you are going to be detained for retail theft. >> On September 4th, 2024, police responded to a Walmart theft worth $14. Moments later, they found the suspect's car, and what followed revealed something far stranger than simple shoplifting. >> Hello. >> Hello, ma'am. Uh, what what do you have right there between your legs? >> An unopened bottle of esolan. >> Okay. And where did you get that at? >> Uh, I got it from a friend. I have also se >> Okay. Um, >> rum. So, so what did you just take out of the store at Walmart? >> Excuse me. >> Okay. So, they just called us and their loss prevention witnessed you and has you on video taking stuff out of the store. Okay. >> Taking what out of the store? >> Merchandise out of the store. All right. So, I'm going to have you Yep. So, go ahead and set those down for me. I'm going to have you step out of the vehicle. Okay. >> Okay. >> So, all the all the produce, all that kind of stuff on the floor over there, where did that come from? algae. Uh algae uh algae algae. And this I've had for a day. Again, unopen. >> Okay. All right. So, go ahead and step out of the vehicle for me. You can if you want, you can roll the window up and and turn it off. Okay. >> I'll I'll have no >> As officers approached her car, she appeared calm. Yet her fidgeting hands told another story and tension spiked when she failed to back up her denials. >> The reason we are here is Walmart lost convention called us and said that there are some items in here that you did not pay for. That is why we're >> I believe I stopped. >> That's why we want to walk you in there and see what's going on. >> Get it figured out. >> Uh no, I'm from New York. I'm not, you know, I have my I don't have my receipt. on my digital receipt if you guys want to see that instead. >> Do you have a digital receipt? >> I do. >> Okay. >> It's from my sister's card. >> Okay. Is it on your phone? >> Huh? Yes. Yes, it is. >> So, hold on. I've been here counting and budgeting and all of this stuff and now you guys just pulled me up. I could have left. Like, what's the problem? Well, again, we've already explained >> The problem is loss prevention is saying that there are some items that you did not pay for. >> What items? >> That's why I >> That's why we want to go inside and talk to >> what we're going to figure out. >> Um, no. I would rather wait for my attorney. My sister listens to >> Okay. >> I I'd rather wait outside, bring your supervisor, everything. >> So, he is the supervisor. >> You are the supervisor. >> He is the supervisor. >> You witnessed me take things. >> I did not tell you that. The woman kept dodging questions, trying to act as if she were part of the investigation herself. Even then, she refused to step inside the store. A clear sign she was hiding something she didn't want uncovered. >> Here's the deal. Do you have a receipt from Walmart from the information? Uh, >> I have a receipt. It was a refunded receipt. My sister has it. That's why I said my sister will come and bring the receipt. I I exchanged it and then I walked out. I'm cleaning my car and then you guys pull up. I have no qualms about you doing your job. Like, I get it. I'm fine. >> Sweet Jesus. Midwest is >> All right. So, at this point, we need to go inside. If if you're clear, then we want to clear this up and make sure >> I don't want to go back inside. I don't want to go back inside simply because if a loss prevention so person if it's the same guy or woman that was looking at my butt and making inappropriate comments then no I don't want to like >> Okay. So we'll we'll get to that portion when we get to that portion. Right now I just kind of want to figure out what's going on here. Okay. >> Sure. >> Um so to make that a little bit easier if we could walk in there >> and and talk to them. No, >> but all her stalling did nothing but waste time. By then, police had already reviewed the surveillance footage. And with the evidence clear on camera, there was nothing left for her to deny >> everything here in just a second, but go ahead. I need to put you in handcuffs. Okay. >> Okay. >> All right. So, put your hands behind your back for me. Okay. What do you think? >> What? >> That's all right. If you sit back, I'm I'm going to re >> No. No. Go ahead. Go ahead. Got her. >> Let me get that. >> Nah, you Gucci. Just, you know, this is also I see my phone. Okay. >> Jesus Christ. I've been in the back of these [ __ ] since I was 7. >> All right. I'm going to turn up the air real quick. Okay. Just so you get some air back there and you don't get too hot. Okay. >> Finally, she was charged with retail theft, facing up to one year in jail, fines of up to $1,000, and restitution for the stolen goods. This is a reminder. Every excuse digs you deeper because no lie can out talk the truth and evidence always wins in the end. Before the next petty theft, let's watch a sly couple pull off a major theft together. >> Hey, Jasmine. >> On March 4th, 2023, Savage police received a report about a suspected stolen vehicle. After confirming the situation, the officer traced it to a shopping mall where the car had been spotted. Inside, they identified Jasmine, accompanied by a man matching the suspect's description. Lee, who immediately showed reluctance and refused to cooperate when approached. >> Hey, JASMINE. >> On the ground. On the ground. Hang on. Hands behind your back. Now, now >> you're under arrest. What? >> You got warrants and a stolen car. >> No. >> Don't move. >> Why am I swear stolen for what? >> You have a stolen vehicle and you have words for your arrest. >> Let me >> Don't move. Put your hands behind your back. >> Why are you in here? >> Cuz you're under arrest. >> Yes. 35 minutes. >> Jasmine was then searched and escorted to the police car. At that point, she claimed she didn't personally know the suspect. Lee, only his name and refused to provide any further information. >> What are you guys doing? What are you guys doing? For what? I'm not kid. Look at the Dude, what are you guys talking about? Dude, check my pocket. I don't got no resist. >> Dude, I'm not resisting. >> I'm not. Dude, I check video. >> Stop resisting, dude. You guys got the wrong person. >> Dude, I'm not driving. I don't have teeth. >> Let me just check the video. >> Check the video. Here, here. Here. Dude, I'm telling you, I >> I'm not [ __ ] stomach. When discovered, Lee immediately tried to flee, but it was far too late. Caught in the police net, he began shouting his innocence and rambling about car keys before anyone even questioned him. >> I know. >> Roll over on your side. >> Bring your Bring your knees to your chest. >> Bring your knees to your chest. >> Let's move around. >> Bring your knees to your chest. I can't breathe. >> I need >> move your knees to your chest. And now sit up. Sit up. >> Sit up. >> I can't breathe. >> Sit up. Sit. Stand up. Sit. No. Come on, man. >> Okay, relax. Relax. Relax. You're good. >> Hey, you know this is illegal. >> Can you guys search them video cameras? Look, look how you guys did me. >> No, I I didn't drive. No, I got no keys. I got no nothing. Please. >> Instead of cooperating to make things easier, he foolishly chose to resist and challenge the officers at every step. Not going. >> Chill out. >> I'M NOT GOING. >> YOU ARE GOING. >> NO, I'M NOT. I DIDN'T have no possession. >> I didn't have possession of no vehicle. You guys don't understand this. >> Don't I don't figure it out. >> No. Don't over stand up. >> I can't stand up. I can't. I'm a rift. >> All right. >> He pretended to struggle for breath, clutching his side in pain, prompting officers to call medical aid. But his desperate act failed to save him from the charges. >> Painful. Painful. I promise. You guys want this? >> Oh, that's so I'll do it. I'll do it. I'll do it. I promise I [screaming] In the end, Lee was charged with theft of movable property valued at $2,500 in disorderly conduct. He plead guilty to theft and was ordered to pay $871. While the second charge was dismissed, Jasmine faced charges of operating a vehicle without consent, resisting or obstructing an officer and multiple counts of drug possession. She plead guilty to unauthorized vehicle operation and resisting arrest. with her drug charges dismissed. The court ordered her to pay a total of $362 in fines. Do you think Jasmine really didn't know Lee or was that just an excuse? Leave a comment and keep watching. Next, let's see how this little crew decided to turn shoplifting into a family activity. >> NOT BEING ME. I'M NOT DOING YOUR HAND. >> I'm not officer. >> You want to lie to me and jerk me around? Make my job harder? >> I'll take you to jail. We'll figure it out that way. On June 29th, 2024, police rushed to a $1,200 shoplifting call at JC Penney. The suspects fled, but one woman caught driving away boldly claimed she wasn't a thief, but a victim herself. Let's see how the officers exposed THEIR LIES. >> TURN THE CAR. >> I got you running on foot. Give me your keys cuz you're Turn your car off. Turn your car off. >> What? Sir, I didn't do What the hell did I do? That lady just jumped in my car and had me just had a knife in my throat, bro. >> Step out of the car. >> Good lord. >> Mhm. >> Where you at? >> Step stand right there. >> Turn and face the car and we'll figure all this out. >> Oh, you ain't do nothing. I'm >> Well, I'm by Wells Fargo. Male and female ran um westbound. Oh, excuse me. Eastbound >> toward the 62nd. >> Them two go. >> Okay. All right. Do you have any ID on you? >> Yes, sir. >> Where's it at? I'm right there in my blue purse right now. >> Who had the Who had the knife? >> The damn girl in the front. >> She had a >> first one was shorter tan pan uh tan shirt. The other one taller uh like a white shirt. Allegedly, the one with tan uh in the tan had a knife at this driver's throat >> in here. >> Yes, sir. That's cool. >> Look, I'm going put this on the ground. Okay. >> I appreciate that. >> Yes, sir. Allegedly they just hopped in her car and put a knife to her throat. >> Hopped in my car with damn bags. What the >> That's the bags that they got. >> And they did the other man like that, too. He He end up going leaving. >> Okay. Take a seat. >> Can I explain? >> Yes. Now you can. >> Man, my girl was fighting. >> Okay. We were fighting. >> We already had cold and stuff, but we were arguing about the kids. >> So, I told her if that's the way it's going to be, then you can pay for the [ __ ] by yourself. >> Okay. Correct. I didn't have my card anyway. And she was like, "So, you tried to I'll come talk to you in a second. Hold on." >> On the other side, officers arrested another suspect mentioned by the woman, but strangely, this suspect too claimed to be a victim. >> I TOLD HIM I'M NOT PLAYING. HE BE I'M NOT DOING YOUR HAND NOW. >> I'M NOT OFFICER. >> OW. That's hard. >> Help. >> No. >> Stop pulling. >> In these bushes here. >> I just hit cuz I'm scared. >> Honestly, I'm scared. >> I'm scared. Let me get up. I'm not going to do nothing. >> Yes. >> The other one's in his car. >> Roll over. >> Please >> roll over. >> I'm coming. >> Sit up. The girl just >> handed me something. She handed me something. I just put in my purse. >> Put your other foot in front of you. I'll help you up. >> What? My knee. >> My knee. >> Your knee. >> You ready? >> It's almost funny how suspects always blame someone else, yet the evidence and witnesses always tell a very different way. So, >> you caught your BMW people here. >> You did? >> Yes. >> Excellent. >> So, can you tell me exactly? There was two that ran to the car, >> right? There was one that actually hang on the short [ __ ] whatever it is. Guy or girl, would you not figure out this is like the fourth time they hit got into the BMW. >> So, the BMW was waiting for them or they >> Yeah, it was open. He just climbed right in the back seat. >> But then There's a different car. >> That car right there that's also involved because the shower cat girl got out of bed. >> You see this lady right here? I think she owns the BMW. >> Go right ahead. >> Police soon learned that all three suspects were connected after questioning the store manager. Yet even then, she still believed she could keep playing her role. >> Find out who that is. >> That's what that's what we're doing. We got him caught. So, we're going to figure out >> is that? I don't know, but we're gonna find out. You know, verify your side of the story and whatnot. >> We got somebody over there. We got somebody over there. >> One, my subject over here is saying potentially there's a third subject that was in the vehicle with them. Um, I don't know if you seen anything. >> I only have the driver. Do they know the driver >> and she says one of So, okay. Three person total. Well, then we have two and then you have one. >> Um, cousin or something. >> Oh, so the driver is the cousin of the people they got in the car. >> I don't know what that is, >> I believe. So, they will know her name. Find out they know her name. What's going on? >> I need to ask you some questions. Before I do, I I understand. Before I do, I need these are because of the nature of the questions. I need to let you know what your rights are. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can it be will can be held against you. >> The driver is the cousin of the subject on our person. She doesn't know what happened. >> Officers investigating the driver's side received solid confirmation and the woman's role instantly collapsed. Her every action and lie unraveled at once. >> I know. >> I don't even >> How she How does she know your first name? >> Cuz I don't know how my first name, sir. My information in my damn glove box. Mhm. >> But they just ho they just hopped in your car and >> Listen, ask the lady. But >> and then and then why they they had time to go to your glove box? >> Tripping. She she was tripping enough. >> You put it back. >> What's going on? >> Well, right now I have to ask you a couple of questions. >> Do you know your license is suspended? >> Personal information that the cousin may So that's why you're under arrest for your license being suspended. Number one. Okay. >> Number two. your cousins are in the car cuz they have your phone number in their phone. So, if you want to continue that lie, here's here's the thing right now. Okay? >> The truth shall set you free. May set you free. A lie will take you to jail. Okay? Right now, depending on how much property that is, we're looking at a misdemeanor. If we're looking at a misdemeanor amount, you're looking at a notice to appear. You want to lie to me and jerk me around, make my job harder, >> I'll take you to jail. We'll figure it out that way. So, I'm going to let you sit here and think about it for a minute. >> Okay. That's what I'm thinking about. >> Whether or not you want to tell me the truth or you want to go to jail. >> Finally, all three suspects were charged with shoplifting and obstruction while I while the two who fled were additionally charged with fleeing and eluding officers. This serves as a stark reminder. No lie lasts forever. Those who play the victim may deceive others, but never justice.
