Return around. >> No, wait. Wait a minute. No, y'all don't do this to me. Let me call my mom. Can you Can you It's okay. It's okay. Stop. Don't Hold on. I'm going to take her. Y'all cuz y'all cuz ain't no way. And you know that you were previously banned from Walmart as well, right? The East Fury one? You're banned from all. All Walmarts? Mhm. You're under arrest. No. For what? For stealing. I I didn't do nothing. What are you talking about? Right now you're being detained, so stand up. >> going to be detained. Shoplifters are not defined by who they are. They can be men or women, and sometimes even worse, they can be irresponsible mothers willing to bring their own family along to commit wrongdoing. So, what consequences will they face? You will see it all in today's video. Cops surprise stop a shoplifter stealing an entire cart full from Walmart live. We are This is Law, and don't forget to like and subscribe. Starting with this mother, she was a bad example for her own daughter. Then they proceeded to bypass all points of sale and exit without payment. Yeah. Is she your daughter? On September 12th, 2024, officers received a report from Sephora about two women committing theft inside the store. But to understand the full details, listen to the story as told by the store's loss prevention employee. All right. So, I'll bring you the synopsis today. Perfect. I place >> [clears throat] >> on CCTV Okay. I observed these two in the area of Dior, which is a high theft area, so I just continued observation. >> Sure. And she just crossed the Dior and my SL, and I observed her selecting and concealing items. Observed her select items, hand them to her, conceal items, and then they just proceeded around the store just selecting and concealing various items. >> Sure. Yeah. And then they proceeded to bypass all points of sale and exit without payment. Yes. I met them right outside the exit and Do you know who had what? At that moment, officers approached the two women and they seemed embarrassed as they realized their own wrongdoing. I'm going to stop Do you want to tell me what happened? Do you want to tell me anything? And I know they kind of already went through it, but um >> [clears throat] >> I don't think I'm allowed to say. No? Okay. What was What was the plan? Not to pay for the stuff or I don't know. I just I don't know what to say. Yeah. Is she your daughter? Mhm. Okay. Okay. Um Is there anybody else that like Do you have a husband or anybody else? Does she have a dad that you are in contact with? No, my husband. No? Where is he at? He's at home. Okay. Do you guys live together? No, he's in Bellingham. Bellingham? Okay. Can I get his contact information? Um cuz So, right now both of you are under arrest for the theft, okay? Yeah. So, and that's I want to call him and let him know if that's okay with you guys. Yeah? What's his contact information? Okay. Do you have your ID on you? Okay. What about her? Is it possible that I pay for it? Uh no, it's already too late. Yeah, unfortunately. All right. Kind of sold That boat sailed when you walked out, right? So Um does she have ID? No, not with me. Okay. What's her name? Their cooperation helped the investigation move forward quickly and shortly after the officer informed them of what they would have to face. So I can put you both in handcuffs now, we can walk all the way through the mall or We'll just walk over. We still got to go to my car, though. It's fine. Okay. All right. And I mean, if anybody runs, right, you're just going to be tackled. >> to run. No. Okay. Um but yeah, if you guys are continue to be compliant, then you know, we don't have to throw you in handcuffs in front of everybody. But, um my car isn't No, too far. So, but we'll just sit in there. I'll fill out some paperwork, and we'll figure it all out, okay? Sweet. And the bag I'm going to have to take, okay? Thank you. All right. You're still going to have to go in handcuffs, though, okay? Okay. So, here, I'll Before you step in there, I'm going to I'll put you in handcuffs. Just turn around. Yes, all right. Thank you. Everything seemed calm on the surface, but the two of them still had to face serious consequences because the value of the items they took was just as significant. I'm going to talk to my sergeant and see exactly what's going to happen because, right now, according to them, it's two felonies. Yeah. So, over $750 is a felony. So, I'm going to ask my sergeant and see if we can figure out something so that you know, both of you aren't going, but both of you had merchandise, and it all equals above 750 bucks, then both of you are going to be arrested for a felony, which is pretty bad, right? Um that doesn't mean that you're going to be convicted of a felony, right? So, how the process works is tomorrow morning, or is today Thursday or Friday? So, tomorrow morning, you guys will both see if you're both going, let's just say, okay? Tomorrow morning, you'll have a court date set. A judge will see you in the morning sometime, probably via like like Zoom or something. And they'll either say, you know, you can bail out that day and leave, or they'll they'll be released, or you'll stay however long the judge sees fit. But considering it's you guys' first time to ever be arrested, they'll probably go a a little easier on you, and it most likely won't still be a felony. They'll probably drop it down to a a misdemeanor. But I don't know, and I'm not making any promises. I'm just trying to tell you the process. Both women were charged with felony retail theft. Greed and poor judgment turned a simple shopping trip into a criminal charge, proving that one reckless decision could quickly destroy a reputation and future. Next, this woman even believes she could manipulate the officers psychologically. Well, we're investigating a retail theft and a criminal trespass to property. Hold on, let me call my mama. Hold on. What's your mom going to do for you? WHY ARE YOU TALKING SO SMART? Cuz I need to see what's really going ON. LIKE WHY IS I'M On March 11th, 2025, officers received a call from Target about a woman wearing a reflective jacket who had committed shoplifting and was attempting to leave the store. When they arrived at the scene, the suspect approached the officers and immediately began playing the victim. Hi. What's your last name? >> you doing? They just walked up on me saying that they clothes is walked me Target stuff, and this is mine, that I went in the fitting room and got. Okay. And they just grabbed me some of they ain't try to say like walking up on me all that one time instead of just asking me some of this all their stuff. And I got a receipt for the stuff that I put in the car that's mine. >> Okay. I'm going to stop you there. What's your first name? What's yours? Mine's Mike. May I say? Sure. Yes. We didn't do that to you. And it's hard to understand >> I'm I'm just making that they just came at me and then I tried to show proof, and they still tried to say that I took that that's my stuff. Absolutely. I'd be upset, too, but it's hard to hear you because you're a little excited. >> yeah. I get it. No problem. So So if I got this correctly, you went into the fitting room, Mhm. you came out, bought some clothes. They stopped you in the parking lot, but you have a receipt for the clothes that you put in the car. Yes. Okay. You want to go You want to go get >> Yeah, come on. Let's take a walk, girl. No, I I only got what you call it I They got what I got It was never in the bag. Okay. So, I'm going to show you this is this right here and my two sheets that they say that I took. Okay. Well, we're going to try and figure out what's going on cuz we got here way before the party, so. Hello. At that moment, the officers proceeded to verify the two items she had mentioned. Before we go any further, do you have a driver's license or state ID I can have, please? Why is I'm getting a phone? Because Well, I'll tell you something. I'm cuz it shows that we've talked to you. Uh-huh. And I got to do a report. Okay. Okay. >> But, this is what um the eyebrow right here. Okay. These are the only two things I brought. I gave them all their clothes, everything. Okay. Like I never Like I never purchased it. Like I said, I don't want it. Okay. And then you said I stole this. And this is mad and you got to see it on the camera that I took this off. Okay. Why don't you grab your driver's Like I don't even play like this. Like don't ever play with me. I shop too much. Okay. So, let's go over and talk to him and see if we can get to the bottom of this. Okay. >> already just walked up on me. I don't want to talk about nothing. I just want to show They told me to show a receipt to the police when I get here. And these are the three items that they told me that I took for the perfume. I mean, they didn't even say nothing about perfume. They just said these right here. And this jacket was here. Okay. Let's go on the other side. I need you to talk to him. Who is him? My partner. Oh, okay. And then I'm going to go talk to him and see if we can figure this out. >> Purchase these two items. Yes. And And one. And my jacket. He's trying to say I stole the jacket. >> And that you you stole So, you walked in with the jacket on. Yes. Okay. That's my jacket. Okay. Okay. He said and then they just they just confirmed it. One officer also approached the loss prevention staff, and they had plenty of information suggesting that she was quite familiar to them. So, that bedding Well, she has had prior incidents here before. They were a little smaller, and then also Oak Lawn on 95th. Okay. Um so, that's why we knew she was a known offender, and we started watching her. Okay. Um but yeah, we have everything on camera. Okay. And where did you recover your items? >> On the west side. Okay. >> side vestibule. So, you were inside the vestibule. Did you approach her and identify yourself, or did she just grab it? Yes, no. We approached saying we're Target Security. Uh we're going to need that stuff back. I tried to explain to her it's in and out. It's 50 bucks. Uh-huh. She would have been in and out. >> Okay. Um but then she started getting really aggressive towards us. So, I told my team to Okay. >> back. But then, I was on the phone with the operator. She was asking if I could get a plate. So, that's why I walked this way, but still safe distance. >> Yeah. Then she hopped out of the car and started charging towards me. >> Okay. Okay. So, what are we doing with her? Um well, I want to cite for sure. Uh complaints. >> Okay. You know, you know what you're doing with an assault? Uh Did you think you were going to be battered by her? I thought she was going to swing, for sure. I thought that Okay. Returning to the suspect to question the differences between the two stories, she suddenly added new details to her version of events. Can you guys like give us your story? >> Well, he mentioned perfume. I don't have no perfume. Okay. But he said you did have perfume. >> have no perfume. I made that >> Y'all, I'm telling you I don't have nothing, and I'm ready to go. >> Okay. >> told me I have to show y'all a receipt, and I did my job. Well, that's a different story than he told us. What he told us is you walked out with three bottles of perfume. >> I don't have no perfume with me. You're not letting me finish. You walked out of the store into the vestibule with three bottles of perfume. When he approached you, you gave him the perfume, and then you came to the car. >> him anything. Okay. Well, he's telling us a different story. He says it's all caught on video. Okay, you do what y'all Y'all can do what y'all got to do. I don't know what y'all, but he asked me to show my receipt, and then when I gave him my receipt, he told me I stole the the shirts and stuff. And I said, "No, I didn't." He said, "Well, he said, "Well, show the police your receipt, and that's it." And then he just told me also that he don't um What he tell me? When I showed the receipt, that's he said I took the jacket, and that was the last thing we had talked about. I said, "What jacket?" And then I went back in there and said I said it's y'all It's all these y'all's stuff. They said, "You just pay for it." I said, "Okay." So, and then he said, "Don't worry about it." And then that's when he got on the phone with you guys. >> Right. Well, then he also told us that you've had a few dealings with Target. Is that true? Who had a dealing with Target? >> You did. No, I did not. Somebody stole Somebody stole from me. Okay. Well, he said that you've had a dealing with the Target in Oakland, and the >> Yeah, that's the That's the one. Okay. And the Target here, and you're not allowed here. Who? I never heard that. Never in my life. Never. They just stole from me from Target over there. Target stole from you? >> No, the the customers just stole some stuff from me, my bags and everything. And they just caught all the thieves there. Just recently, this weekend, that just happened. >> Okay. She then claimed that she had been the victim of another theft in an attempt to distract from the main issue. The officers quickly shifted the conversation back to what she had done to the employee earlier. Okay. Well, the problem also is that after he does Loss Prevention said you came to the car, that he got on the phone with us, and then you got out of the car, and then you charged him. Did I charge him? Yeah. In an aggressive manner. Did you do that? >> I asked him. I said, I said, "So, what's this your stuff again?" I said, "What did the police say so I could tell them that this mine." I said, "I've been walking your store." Cuz yes, I did say something. I didn't charge like, you know, running toward him like that. I said he told me to step back, but you didn't step back with me when I told y'all to step back and asked for a receipt, but did y'all step back? All y'all ganged up on me doing this. All y'all doing this to me, but y'all didn't do that to me and ask me for a receipt. So, he got the receipt from me, he told me, "Show the police the receipt." So, now I'm showing the police my receipt, and I walked back up in there. I said, "DO Y'ALL SELL REEBOK in here?" They said, "No, we do not sell Reebok." That's my clue right there. That's it. Okay. Well, unfortunately, at this point, I'm going to have to detain you. So, do me a favor, turn around and put your hands behind your back for me. >> Well, we're investigating a retail theft and a criminal trespass to property. Hold on, let me call my mama. Hold on, but do me a favor, turn around. >> No, wait, wait a minute. No, y'all don't do this to me. Let me call my mama, like, cuz I'm not finna be Hold. Hold on. Guys, >> What? Yes. What's your mom going to DO WHY YOU TALKING so smart? CUZ I NEED to see what's really GOING ON. LIKE, WHY IS I'M She thought that constantly talking would actually change the truth, and her actions afterward did nothing to make the situation any easier. These are all hot cars. So, I'm finna get detained for what now? We're investigating a retail theft. Of what that theft that I took? Hold on. Okay, sir, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Listen. Wait. What What are your reason? I'm not getting Just tell us what you're doing. Just tell us. Where's my other ticket? Hold on. Okay. Wait one moment, sir. Can I get my keys? Let me get my keys, please. Let me get my keys. We'll get it. Can I get Can y'all please give me my keys? CAN I LOCK MY CAR, Y'ALL? CAN YOU CAN YOU IT'S OKAY. IT'S OKAY. STOP. Don't Hold on. Come on. It's okay. Can y'all cuz y'all AIN'T NO WAY LET GO of your phone. I don't want you to break your phone. Come on. Uh We will lock your car. We will take care of this. Just give me your phone so it doesn't get broke, please. I I I will hold on to it and I'll give it to them. It's just No, we we we just wanted to just Where are your keys? I don't want you touching my car. Mike, come right over here. You sir, you you. You or him. You or him. No. I got your phone. I'll get your keys. Just step over here. Both of us can't be in the doorway at the same time. >> can't reach in there. I can't reach in there. >> go. You can This is my partner, Mike. Okay? Mike is going to have your phone. Just give me 1 sec. Let me double lock it so they don't tighten up. After the investigation became clear, the woman was charged with criminal trespass and retail theft at the store. When someone tries to bury the truth under excuses and distractions, the facts eventually catch up [music] and the consequences become unavoidable. Next, this woman only started thinking about her son after she was arrested. So, why do you think they're saying it's fraudulent? Did they say? Yeah, that's why they called. What am I going to do? I need to pick up my son. On December 20th, 2024, officers responded to a Best Buy after receiving a report about a shoplifter at the store, but it did not stop there. The suspect also used those same items to attempt a fraudulent return, and that was exactly when the officers delivered a surprise to her. Ma'am, I'm with police. So, we are just going to detain you for a second, all right? Just under investigation right now. We appreciate your ongoing cooperation. I'm going to explain a little bit more once we go outside so we don't have to blast your information. Do you have your credit card? Is that your ID? Is this your phone? And then this product So, just so you know, you're not under arrest, you're you to detained right now. We're just investigating a fraudulent return. We'll ask you some questions and then we'll try to get you out. So they're calling in cuz they're saying you're trying to do a fraudulent return. Can you tell me what's going on? I'm just buying Christmas gifts. Buying Christmas gifts? >> Yeah. Okay, so are you here to return anything tonight? Tonight with this Polaroid which I have a receipt for. You were returning the Polaroid? >> Yeah. Okay, when did when did you buy that? Uh I want to say within the last weeks? Last two weeks? Okay. And I bought the uh tablet which I don't know if he charged my card. The tablet? Yeah. >> From tonight or >> Yeah, tonight. Okay. Uh I have to check my credit card statement cuz I can't remember if he processed it. She did not even clearly remember her own transactions, which only made the situation even more unbelievable. At that moment, the officers brought up the real reason they were there. So why do you think they're saying it's fraudulent? Did they say? Yeah. That's why they called us. They said you were making a fraudulent return. I have no idea. Did you buy it at this Best Buy last time, the Polaroid? I I might have been. Did they have the receipt? The Polaroid? Yeah. Oh, yeah, this is it. Yeah. I mean, I have a receipt for it. Okay. More questions about that Oscar. And then a couple on top, right? Is that it? Um so, did you bring in the vacuum and the Polaroid today? Uh yeah. Okay. So when we review camera footage, it's going to show you entering the store with those two items. Yes. Okay. Did you go anywhere else within the store or did you just go straight to the customer service department? No, I probably went to the kitchen stuff. Okay. Um did you select anything else? No, only the tablet. Tablet? Oh, what kind of tablet? Uh, the Lenovo. The Lenovo? Okay. That was her version of the story, but according to the investigation, the officers had a very different story. So, yeah, when we review the camera footage, it's going to show you coming in with nothing. Or it's going to show you coming in with the vacuum and that floor camera. Yeah. How did you carry it in? Uh, on the cart. Okay. Uh, is that the beach shopping cart right there? Yeah, the one I had. Okay. So, it'll show those two items in there. Uh, the items should match the serial numbers on the receipt, I'm assuming. You would think so, yeah. Uh, have you opened Have you opened them before? No. Uh, have you done anything like this in the past? No. Why would they say that you have done this before? I have no idea. Okay. Have they called the police before? They have a case number. Have they gotten that far yet? Um, why don't you grab that case number from that folder? Okay. Can you give me the lowdown on this gal, just all together? Um, I've seen her today. We have this. Um, I have all of Mary's stuff also has case number on her. For her doing it over there, I think that's all I got on her. Um, Stevie takes some really good notes. When is this from? Do you know? Uh, oh, dang. It was, let me see. 12:06. Here's your notes on her. Oh, we got time on that day? 12:06. 12:06. 12:09. Um, This is like a >> [laughter] >> everything that she's done like in the store and stuff. Did you guys complete the refund at the now? Did she get money for the items or any kind of goods? Uh, no, she she didn't. Okay, so you so >> Not tonight. Not tonight. Okay, yeah, we know the previous ones. I know she's Yeah, which is why I I got myself involved this one. I'm like, we already lost enough. I don't want to lose anymore. Perfect. The investigation confirmed that this was not the first time the woman had carried out this act. So, let's see what tricks she used when facing this accusation. Okay, so we watched the security footage and you did not walk in with either of the items. So, do you want to change what you said earlier? Did you walk in the store with those two items? Okay. Did you walk in the store and pick up those items and then go to the counter? Cuz they have it on video and we just watched it. No. No what? No, I didn't. No idea? No, I didn't know I didn't. Okay, so what about the previous contacts? Cuz they have a running list of you coming into the store and kind of just pulling the same thing. All within this month. Yeah, because I'm I'm shopping for groceries. Are you But you're coming in empty-handed and saying you want to return stuff that you took off the shelves. But I have receipts. Maybe for one purchase, but the other two times that's not the case. Could be me. You were Tonight, the cameras caught you walking in empty-handed. Wait a minute. You got to call a lawyer cuz I need to go pick up my kids. So, okay, we won't ask you any more questions. You can search her. Okay, go ahead and stand up for me and then face >> Can I please pick up my cell phone? You're under arrest for organized retail theft. I need you to to stand there and face the vehicle. Do you have something in your pocket or something like that? She completely failed in her attempt to manipulate the officers and deny everything, but it did not stop there. Once she was handcuffed, she immediately brought up her family as an excuse to create complications. Facing the car and widening your stance. Don't. Face the car and widen your stance. Face the vehicle and widen your stance. What do I need to do? I need to pick up my son. I need to pick up my son. Stand up. Don't. I need to pick up my son. He doesn't have a phone. Can I please What is What is going to I do to pick up my son? Is there anything I can do? Tonight? You can bail out probably, but you got to get processed first. Oh my god. I need to I want a resolution. What do I need to do to get get get my son tonight? The woman was charged with organized retail theft. A parent should set an honest example for their child because selfish choices and dishonesty will only lead to consequences that can hurt both themselves and the people they care about. Next, this mother turned out to be just as terrible. I honestly I'm not perfect. I've done stupid stuff before, but I don't want to put my kids through that. And you know that you were previously banned from Walmart as well, right? The East Peoria one? On February 2nd, 2026, officers approached a woman at her residence after suspecting her involvement in a shoplifting incident at Walmart before leaving the scene. This was what happened next. So, um, I'm here to talk to you about some incidents that you had at Walmart a few weeks ago. What? So, they have you on camera paying for higher priced items at a lower price. There was like different tickets on them, like different price tags. What? So, there is There's stuff like cameras, um camera film, stuff like that. So, there was at least three separate times that this occurred. Honestly, I don't know what you're talking about. You have no idea? No. Okay. Different tickets? What are you talking about? So, the price tags It was on like It was also kids' clothes. There's all sorts of different items. I'm so confused. There was usually like four to five items per transaction. It was always on non-grocery stuff. Grocery stuff, you pay full price. I mean, I feel like I pay full price for everything. I spend a ton of money at Walmart. Okay. Well, the video and the receipt shows otherwise. Just trying to save a buck? I mean, I get it. Times are hard right now. No, honestly, I don't even know what you're talking about. Well, like one of the things specifically, there was like a $75 camera that had a It's one of those like little kids' cameras uh that had Is it motion? >> The woman denied everything, but moments later she had a story involving the stolen items that the officer had just mentioned. Yeah, people make mistakes. I just got to I got to know why. >> honestly do not know what you're talking about. I pay full price for all my items. Like I Okay. My friend gave my daughter a camera for her birthday, but I didn't buy it. Okay. It's you. Okay, but I I honestly don't know what you're talking about. >> Okay. I mean, is that is that the story that we're going to go with? I'll tell you Do you want me to tell you the specific days? >> I mean, it doesn't matter. >> January 9th, January 13th, January 15th. Those are the only incidents that they have found so far. I mean, I honestly I am Like I said, there's >> and it is Like I said, there's there's two sides to every story. So, I want to come over here and give you the benefit of the doubt. Right. Thank you. And try to get your side, okay? So, that's where a little bit honesty comes in, right? Mhm. >> Um but other than that, like I honestly I'm not perfect. I've done stupid stuff before, but I don't want to put my kids through that and I honestly don't feel like I've done anything of what you're talking about. Okay. I don't switch tickets or whatever. I don't She claims she did not want to set a bad example for her children, yet she spoke about shoplifting behaviors as if she understood them well. In reality, she was already quite a familiar figure with Walmart. And you know that you were previously banned from Walmart as well, right? >> The East Peoria one? You're banned from all. >> All Walmarts? Mhm. They just told me East Peoria because I was trying to pay for my items. I left them with my cart. >> Mhm. >> And me and my kids went out to charge my phone cuz I was trying to scan and go. Right. >> And it just my phone died. So, then I left them with my cart. They said I went past the threshold, which is not like past the doors, but I was looking for help and hey, buddy. It's okay. Mom's okay. I was just looking for >> talking to her. I was just looking for help and then um they they obviously weren't like crazy about that. And then the cops came and they're like, we don't even feel comfortable with giving her a trespass because they looked at the cameras and I honestly didn't try to take anything. I was just trying to pay for it and charge my phone. So, that was the deal with that. Sure. >> Like I never Well, they must have felt comfortable enough cuz you were arrested for that one, right? In East Peoria? No. No? No, I I was No, I wasn't arrested but that was Washington for one but it was Washington. Okay. At that moment, the officer returned to the issue that had brought him there but her response tried to appeal for sympathy rather than actually explain everything. All right. Well, so you don't have anything else to say about it? I mean, honestly, I I really I don't. I just I honestly don't know where this is all coming from and I don't I feel like I have paid a full price for all of my items. Like I honestly don't Sure. get how this is even about. Like I don't try to like swap out anything or whatever you're saying. Like I don't know. That seems very tedious and very something that someone with two screaming kids probably wouldn't do but Sure. Um I wish [snorts] someone would have corrected it then and I wouldn't be in this position. Sure. >> Like I I'm really not about that and I just I don't know. Like I said, I've made mistakes in the past but Sure. I feel like I've kind of grown from that and learned. Right. >> You know, I don't really have a bad record. I do have that on my record but I just like I said, I made a stupid decision and Mhm. definitely don't try to make it again. Okay. Um I have to set an example for the kids, too but Right. >> You know, I I mean, I wish I had more to tell you and I wish, you know, that this could get you know, whatever but I just I honestly I I can't sit here and say that I Without letting the situation drag on any longer, the officer bluntly informed her about what she was going to face. So, you have you're going to get charged for retail theft and for criminal trespass, okay? They both have the same court date. So, you don't have to make multiple court multiple trips. So, like I said, retail theft and criminal trespass. Just don't go to Walmart again, okay? Um and it's any of the Walmarts. You can always call and ask permission to come back. Uh I get it there's not a ton of places to shop around here, but What was that? I don't have to go to Walmart, but Sure. fair. No, what do you mean? I just I really honestly I wish someone would have just stopped it right then. Like I had no idea. I just well, I don't think they were aware of it at the time. This is a thing. They don't get a barcode or anything like that if somebody's checking out in the self-checkout or something isn't right. Something like that. Just like Oh, see here. I feel like I thought it was like all weed and stuff like that. That's why you put it on there or whatever. >> No, a lot of times Yeah, a lot of times, especially if it looks like it's a legitimate item because it's a legitimate barcode. But, when they review they get alerted to it through whatever ways. They have different reporting, but when they see there is, you know, This is supposed to be a Starburst, but it's a $70 camera. In the end, she was only charged with retail theft, was not arrested, and simply had to wait for her court date. Trying to deny the truth may delay the consequences, but repeated dishonesty will eventually expose itself and make the situation even worse. Worse, the couple even treated committing the crime 20 times as something trivial. Oh, there's cameras all over. It was a big deal. I accidentally missed this [ __ ] today. When all the big deal times 20 turns out to be a big deal. On March 18th, 2025, officers were dispatched to a Walmart after receiving a report that a group of suspects had committed theft by skip scanning items at the store, and it seemed the loss prevention staff there was already quite familiar with them. Simmons is the last name. We've got multiple out of Waverly. They bagged, they skip scanned stuff at the registers. We got put on to them and ran their card. My boss probably has 20 cases, 15 cases that he's put in. They're over $1,000 from past thefts. And we got a dozen or more items not scanned. I just got to get the receipt, but they're both in there, but that's another dollar. >> Are you from this jurisdiction? Yeah. Um we I've got Aurora pulled up. I can show you where they're in the system with their with they've been doing. But uh we've just been waiting. I had them in the other day, but the handheld was messing up, and it was like two items. And I was like, "Well, we'll wait and get us all in." And this is actually It's all good. I do that every every time you've been in here. This was $188. This one's 50 cents, which is the lower one, $114. I mean, there's 20 20 or more cases that you guys were involved in. I know what you're trying to tell me you didn't do anything wrong, but I mean, why do you think I'm watching you? This is two cases out of Waverly. This is what That's why I mean They've been involved in 18 events. 16 from us so far that's loaded up. This one's $201. That's him pushing it out. There's her blue pickup truck. Um their total value is $13.56 at the moment. And it's it's all either not scanning stuff at the register or um scanning one bag and two, three. We have receipts. We got to We got all the photo There's still some we still have to get in. According to the report, there were a total of 20 incidents involving the same method connected to the two of them, yet they showed no sign of guilt. And that attitude became even clearer when the woman was separated for questioning. So, apparently this is a thing that happens frequently. >> I'm trying to be funny if I say this. No, there's cameras all over. >> I understand that, but I understand also things can be mishandled accidentally. I'm not saying it's always but you can't say that every time we come in here we steal something. That's not You're right. So, not that question. I'm not worried about that right this second. What happened today? No, we were just I always stand there and talk to people because I know everybody in here. So, >> Literally stand and talk to everybody. >> What was it scanned? I guess a few things. It was probably some lotion, something. Um some chicken, some cheese I guess, but we paid for everything in the cart. Like I guess. >> that you paid for some items, but you We paid for all the items except for like eight things I think it was. Like Eight things is kind of a lot of things. They're not scanned. >> get that. I How do you forget eight times that you didn't scan something? Well, he I I think he gets like he said he thinks he confuses someone else's scan when he's scanning his beside him. That doesn't make sense. >> I mean I get that, but at the same time >> me a line of [ __ ] is what you're doing. Not at all. So, at the end of the day no. It's every single time. I don't give a [ __ ] how much you make. >> Okay, that's fine. But listen to me. Every time Every time you come here Every time you come here you guys are caught not scanning things. Okay, that's fine. She arrogantly interrupted the officer to block every accusation made against her, and her uncooperative attitude became even more obvious when she heard that she was being arrested. >> I'll step back in here. You're going to go to jail today though. No, I'm not. Bet. Step inside. Stand up and turn around right now. No. Yeah, you're under arrest. >> No. For what? For stealing. I I didn't do nothing. What are you talking about? Right now you're being detained, so stand up. >> going to be detained. Okay. Let me verify something just real quick. Today right now she assisted in not scanning items, correct? Is that the right assistant you got every every time? Okay. And she She said she was looking around while he was not scanning items. Yeah, they But I talked to a lot of people here. Do I do I not know who you are? I know all of everybody here. Yes, you do. And it's every time they're together they're not scanning items when they're together and she's doing the same behavior. Every time. >> Okay. You're under arrest. >> to everybody. You're under arrest. For what? Stand up. For theft. You cannot arrest me. >> If you don't stand up and turn around you're going to be having additional charges added to your booking sheet. All right, can I give my stuff to my husband then? No. Set it we'll hand it whatever we need to do. >> Well, there's a lot of money here. Can you just put it in my purse? Thank you. Turn around. You're under arrest. You want me to say Did you talk to him yet? Huh? Did you talk to him yet? No, not yet. That's your phone. In contrast to the woman, the man admitted everything. I get you understand. You win. I missed that plastic thing. I missed the body wash. But see when I missed the plastic thing I knew what I did. I hid it. Right. And then I thought I hid it again. And then Right. It's not like I was just like, hey, you know what? No, I understand. I'm going to steal all this [ __ ] I understand uh value thing you're doing with your man and what not, but I I do not believe that she did not know. No, she she she immediately told you to shut up and stop talking to us when we all got in here. No, she wasn't saying that. She said I was talking too much. Mhm. Because you admitted to not scanning the stuff. She didn't want to. She knows she She didn't mean it like No, she didn't mean it like that, bro. I promise you. She didn't mean it like that. She was just telling me to shut the [ __ ] up cuz I was talking. Pretty much saying he had She had nothing to do with it. Um he was the one that missed the items and saying that he knows that he missed them. They were here together every every Uh did you watch the video? No, I haven't. Watch today's video. And then she turned around. But No. She uh They're saying that she's like looking out for him and stuff, so What were the items? The food and stuff. How many things? Food, uh, pregnancy tests, and I offered the paperwork. I really think it was all The officers tried to remind them that this was far from their first time there, but their attitude did not change at all. So, that's where Oh, that's where Waverly, no no no. our like It's okay. That's a tough one. And eight times and pointed it out when I came in and a couple of the items. I knew it. But she was honest and I knew I was going to miss it. She was very nice the whole time. And I said I would pay for everything. It's not like it was a big deal. I accidentally missed this [ __ ] today. Dude, But all the big deals times 20 turns out to be a big deal, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, I I get that, but I did not mean to miss the [ __ ] >> you're you're at the point where you're in our uh, database over all the Walmarts. In what way? Like, how do you I didn't steal anything in Waverly. Waverly, I didn't steal [ __ ] I had my daughter with me. But you're saying you didn't steal anything this time, too, and clearly No, I I just stole it in my mind. I'm not in I saw you in Waverly. Put a video on there that showed you doing the exact same thing happened here. >> What would I do? I wouldn't even overall of it. I'm telling you they have proof or it wouldn't be on there. Their boss isn't going to let them put it on there if it's not I just drove in. still anything in Waverly cuz Yeah, we can lose our job I had a bunch of convictions, so It's all worth it. I'll let you >> In Waverly, it's plain as day, and we're looking at over $1,500 of Walmart total. Well, probably 21 for this today, and then I'll probably send an email to uh, request for a detective to look at all the cases, put it all together for the To them, that many repeated crimes were nothing serious, and they even thought they could change the outcome. Can we just get a summons, please? And I'll take care of everything for So, I can get take care of my kids. That's it. I'm not, you know, I'm not going to come back here. I'm not going to follow anybody. Follow me to my house. You can follow me to the street, whatever you want. Uh, not with not with the history of of doing this for nine months. I'm not going to I'm not going to pay you back here. I'll give I will bring $1,500 back here. And that's 20 times here, right? Yeah, that's just here. So, that's not even counting over there. And that's in 3 months? Yeah, the past 3 months. Yeah, we we don't even have a vacuum. That's the crazy part. We're good. We good? Okay. Thanks. In the end, the suspect faced aggregated felony theft charges, multiple counts, restitution, and even possible state prison time depending on the decision of the prosecutor and the court. Repeated dishonesty never stayed hidden forever. Sooner or later, the pattern exposed itself and the consequences became far greater than the small gains they once thought were worth the risk. And now, we return to these irresponsible shoplifting mothers. Go ahead and turn around for me. No, for what? No, what if I'm not a bad person, but I am a single mother. And yeah, I chose to do the wrong thing, but On June 18th, 2024, officers received a report from a Walgreens store about a shoplifting incident where the suspects were believed to be two women who pushed carts full of items out of the store without paying. Upon arrival, officers also learned that the situation was far from ordinary as there were additional individuals involved. But, to bring kids with y'all and this is every week. This is consistent. Okay. Do you Do you have any idea who they are? I don't, but they're two black girls come in with a bunch of kids. Okay. Um She's got it all. She's got the car. We we did cuz I ran in there and I was like they cuz I seen the second one shot out. She's looking and then she just boom, ran out the door. So, but this is every week. Okay. Same ones. Yeah, they'll have some video footage. Okay. Okay, awesome. Okay. All right. You'll see them run out this way and then their car is somewhere over here. That's their car. You can see them pulling in. And that's them. That's the first one. There's a second one. Okay. And then the kids. In addition, the employees also realized that this was not their first time, and they even discovered the schedule that these suspects followed. They come back every Tuesday about 4:00, 4:45, 4:50 cuz they know that we're doing truck. So, it never fails on Tuesday. Nonstop. It never fails. Okay. Yeah. I will uh Y'all have any cameras that watch the exit, like the where they pull out on the out of the parking lot? Do you know if there's one there? No. No. I didn't know if you >> Oh, wait. Right here? Mhm. I didn't know if there was a light which which way they went. Oh, the red box one. I didn't even think about that. They steal thousands of dollars of crap. And it's mainly those two. So, it would be really nice if we could catch them. Um with that being said, until um I'm going to I'll go ahead and do a report on it obviously cuz it's a recurring thing. Um as soon as y'all see them come in, just call. Shortly after, the loss prevention employee also had reason to suspect that they had used the stolen items to illegally sell them on Facebook. This is one of them right here. Oh. I found her Facebook, baby. Look, and already they did all the tie bundles. They already selling, girl. That's one of them, Azaria Jackson. Azaria Jackson? Yep. I got her picture. You should be a PI. Baby, I'll be I'm looking I'm hunting them. And that other girl, I'm about to try to find her on here, too, cuz they're together, so they got to be >> Okay. That's one of them. I'm going to get you a statement real quick to fill out if you don't care, and then we'll figure out who these people are. Yes, yes, yes. I'm trying to get something done about Yes, sir. This is cuz this is crazy. Right. This is the one thing we're finally getting them that part. No more No more Yeah, look. not You're not getting away Do you know an approximate of how much they took today? They had They had two baskets full. And the basket for the baby diapers, I mean that alone had to be close to four or five hundred dollars. And then the other one had an entire cart full of drinks, laundry detergent. So, both of them together probably equals the amount. Okay. So, it's it's it's every week. Cuz they just posted it. Yeah. So, we're going through cuz they this is they come in every Tuesday. They know our truck that they obviously pay attention to when our stock comes in. >> they know y'all are busy and not doing anything. >> Yep. Yep. And enough is enough, you know? It's And it's really it's even sadder that y'all bring them children. Yeah, she has the kids putting stuff in the basket, too. That is insane. Like, what are you teaching? So, that that trade is going to continue. >> one. Thank you, boo. That That's going to continue. You know what I'm saying? >> Okay. And based on the women's social media accounts, officers quickly found their addresses and approached them later that same evening. Watch the tense confrontation that unfolded afterward. >> [snorts] >> Hello. Police department. What's your name, ma'am? Payton McCutcheon. So, you didn't let anybody upload anything on there? No. If I did, I would have stopped. What about What about uh did you go to Target or anything earlier? No. All right. Go ahead and turn around for me. No, for what? You're under arrest. No, uh what else? You're under arrest. I'VE NEVER BEEN TO TARGET. NO, THAT'S NOT NO, THEY CAN'T do this. Give my phone All my They can't do this. Y'all didn't even ask me. That's for what? That's from where? >> Okay, listen. We got your name and address. No, they're from where? They're from where? I'm confused. You No, talk to me. Okay. >> going to Ma'am, you're under I'm not going to run. Listen, talk to me right here. Please let us go. I NEED TO KNOW what's going on. No, it's not fair. It's not. So, you're you're you're under arrest. The woman tried to deny all the accusations, but moments later she could barely say another word as officers presented the evidence right in front of her. Also, with that being said, you're going to say that this is not you leaving Walgreens with a shopping cart full of stuff that you didn't pay for? Turn around for me for just a second. See this? Go ahead. Go ahead. 2012 Okay. 30 statute Go ahead. 2012 All right, what's a good phone number for you? The next day, the remaining suspect was also located, and of course, her fate did not turn out any different from the first one. Hello. Hey. What's your name? Latoria Young Latoria Young? Who is this Latoria here? Okay. I see you. Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to step on you. I didn't mean to step on your foot. Where is she at? Second row on the left. Stand up. What's your name? It's the police. What's your name? It's the police. Stand up. What's that? This is mine. >> [laughter] >> Here, I got it. I got it. What else can I get? Your name is Aria? The white one. I know that. How are you? Going to the police department. What's the best way to get to the police department? At the police station, the woman behind the repeated criminal acts did not seem to feel much remorse. The statement she made afterwards sounded even more unreasonable. Honestly, I'm not a bad person, but I am a single mother. And yeah, I chose to do the wrong thing, but it was to honestly get medicine and diapers and things I needed for my child. This will never ever ever happen again. Ever. I don't know. I'm just really honestly praying for the best. Like I said, I do have a 1-year-old and he is on breast milk. So, I've been here for 2 days with the milk leaking, hurting, and not and not been able to feed him. He doesn't have formula. I don't have anything pumped for him. Right. So, honestly, um I only have $1,000 to my name. I'm really just trying to go home. Well, the and the best bet for you is to be playing honestly, okay? I I I'm not lying about anything. Okay. So, let's go through it then. So, Walgreens, what did you take from Walgreens? The Tide that y'all seen. That's all I took out of there. Um is this still going to be there? Yes, it's it's it's all still there. Nothing's moved. Nothing's moved. Everything that you seen yesterday Was it yes- yesterday or when you arrested me, everything that you seen I gave back. So, the Tide we didn't take the Tide. >> No, y'all didn't take the Tide. It's it's sitting on the floor. What about the sodas? Are there some sodas in there that Oh, I paid food stamps for all of those. Okay. So, the Tide you took Yes, and the clothes too. The clothes that we took are from Academy. Yes. Okay. So, you got some stuff from Academy. Was that on Tuesday as well? Yes. And then JCPenney's. Those are I'm like about a month old. And returning to the first suspect, she also used her parental responsibilities as an excuse for her actions. Is there [snorts] a reason behind this or are you just a stone cold thief? I do it to take care of my child. >> You're not alone. You're not alone. You're alone? How many kids you got? Two. I don't know y'all. Who was that? So, was that the child that was with you? Yes, sir. How old is she? What are y'all using it for? Are you selling it? Are you keeping it? I was selling it. Okay. Um the only thing I have left is what I had at the Walmart and Target. So, Target or anywhere else? Uh and only Walmart and Target and Academy. But in Academy, the woman like I already seen her watching anyway, so I didn't even have anything. She came all the way outside, too. Mhm. So, y'all No, the baby my cousin baby had some shirts in the basket and they went off at the door. But I wasn't right there, so it was more like I really didn't have anything, so. Okay, you're being charged with theft $5,000 or less, but greater than $1,000. That is a class D felony. Okay? Anything over $1,000 is class D felony. Now, the penalties and fines, these are the maximum, okay? This is the maximum. It's $10,000 and or up to 6 years in jail. Okay? You're also being charged with class A misdemeanor, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, cuz you had children with you when you when you committed the theft and the children were seen on video put stuff in the cart. Both women were ultimately charged with felony theft of property valued between $1,000 and $5,000 along with contributing to the delinquency of a minor for involving children in the crime. Using children as tools to commit crimes not only deepens the legal consequences, but also sets a dangerous example that can shape their future in the worst possible way. Just a ticket to the Just now? Yeah. Oh, okay. He was after walking here back to the terminal. Then I will definitely be getting an attorney and this will be considered a hate crime for me being over here. On May 6th, 2023, police received a call from a rental car center reporting a man who attempted to steal a vehicle at the location. According to employees, the suspect even appeared to be quite familiar to them. I I know him long time, the guy. Uh-huh. He just stole a car from me downstairs before. I got a picture for him. Uh-huh. And then he he come in, he take the police car. He take it like his customer. He put the luggage, he wanted the car. Really? >> And then when I told him I called the police, he keep quiet, he don't say nothing. Go straight to the bus terminal C. He go to terminal C. >> What was he wearing? He got a look like this color shirt. Uh-huh. Jeans, he got a backpack, silver. And suitcase. Looks like a surfer? Silver. Oh, a server. Okay. Interesting. And he got a luggage bag. Luggage bag is black? Uh-huh. And he he So, does he just wander up here? The guy is the cleaner of the car. He said they called me. He said, "What happened?" The guy just jumped in the car and go. I go, "I told you I know him. He stole a car from me 100%." This guy. That's same clothes he had on. This is the same clothes he's wearing? Just a ticket to the Just now? >> Yeah. Oh, okay. Shortly afterward, a photo of the man was sent to other officers, allowing them to easily locate him within the airport. Pull over right here. What's up? Did you just out of the rental car? No. Yeah, yeah, you was. What's going on here? What's the problem? What the problem is, you got in a rental car when you didn't rent one. That's you right there. That's you, right? What is the problem about this car? Okay, I'm telling you what the problem is. The problem is you got in a vehicle that you didn't rent, so we want to know why were you in that vehicle? Huh? Cuz I was checking it out to see if maybe I wanted to rent it before I rent it. Well, you need to go and talk to them before you check it out. Are you traveling today? Or what are you doing? You got somewhere to go? I'm going I'm going back home, dude. I need to wait to go back home. >> I'm just asking you a question. Why were you in the car if you hadn't rented it? You tell me you checking it out. But you got to You can't just go get in the car and uh don't let nobody know. So, you still That's all that's That's what you was saying? That uh you was thinking about renting the car? Yeah, I just sitting inside it seeing if there's something that I would want. That's all. But you can't do that. But before you rent What do you mean I can't do that? You can't You got to talk to them. You can't just go into the rental car facility and go get in the car and decide if you want it or not. That ain't the way it work. And I'm pretty sure you already know that. Did you take off in the car? Did you drive the car? >> not. Okay, I'm just asking I've I've already had that issue with y'all once before. I would never do that again. Never. Where are you supposed to be traveling to right now? Where are you supposed to be traveling to? Is there any way we can all talk somewhere privately? All of us? Nobody know what we talking about? The man attempted to justify his theft, and his statements gradually became increasingly suspicious. I travel back and forth from Love Field to this airport fairly often. All right. And I'm trying to work on some things that's in regards to gas speculation, being around people who use gas to pump gas. They know the meaning of getting gas in Saudi Arabia, different places, and the price of that. Okay. And in doing that, part of that requires me to just check it out. And I'm not doing anything I'm not doing anything illegal while I'm here. So, how may I come to DFW in a way that's more respectful? Do you suggest I speak to somebody and then have them go with me to see the car? Yeah. That's the way it normally works. I mean, you can't If you If you haven't rented a car, you haven't rented a car, you can't just go out there and get in the car and decide, "Well, hey, I want to look at it." All you got to do is talk to someone at the front desk. They can get a attendant to walk out there with you. You look at the car, check it out. If that's the one you want, the type of car you want to rent. But you can't just go out there and get in the car and and decide, "Well, hey, uh I don't want this one." Cuz from their standpoint, somebody trying to steal the car. Cuz we we do have that happen. So, I'm saying that's from their standpoint. I didn't say you was trying to steal the car, but you didn't let nobody know what you doing. So, that's why we at this point where we at now, cuz they thought you might be trying to steal the car. >> Absolutely not. Well, okay. When they approach you, He approached me >> say, "Hey, I just want to check the car out." >> Yes. And he approached me very aggressively. Because they probably thought you was trying to steal it. >> he was ready to hit me or something. You're welcome to I wouldn't know anything about that. Like he was pissed off at me for some reason. Well, we we have We have people come up there and try to steal the car. But what I'm saying, did you even elaborate that with him and say, "Hey, Yeah, I told him >> to check the car out." That's all I told him. Whenever he excused he offered collapsed under police scrutiny, the man suddenly began invoking his civil rights as if they were arguments he had only just thought of on the spot. There's certain things that Chrysler Dodge Corporation can send you here as a citizen, American civilian, to magnify the quality of their vehicles. >> Well, go to the dealership. >> mean [ __ ] to anybody that has a has an underground car place or a dealership. Well, I'm saying you need to go to the dealership. >> Because we're broke and we don't have an Asian car place. Listen, listen what I'm saying. Listen what I'm saying. It's a meaningless task. Listen, listen, listen to me. If you want to check a vehicle out, you need to go to the dealership. All right. So, what was you coming up to terminal C for? I thought you went to A also, but I guess you didn't. >> Who who went to A? Your driver, cuz none of us goes to C and A. So, Well, I mean you got to get on the right one then. Yeah. So, what you going to A for? I had to get back on the train, go back home. So, you weren't coming out of the terminal. You got suitcase, backpack. I was seated by maybe getting in a car and going somewhere different with a family member, but that's not happening. So, it's not. I mean, you didn't go in there to talk to them about renting a car, right? Why would I even pay money for a car you rent if I don't even know what what it is first? Is it that Is it that wrong of me to see what I'm going to rent before I rent it? I mean, what did I tell you you need to do? You need to go to the Asian, talk to them, and then ask them, "Hey, can I take a look?" They'll send somebody out there with you to look at their car. >> I can respect that. >> Or you can ask them, "Hey, what kind of cars do you have to rent?" Okay. They didn't say you did anything. They didn't say you sitting in the car. Well, when he told me to say you started the car, so that's what I meant. Police confronted the man's story directly, and this was what ultimately became their decision. So, what is it, Mr. Shayk? Shayk. Shayk? So, this this is where we at right here. Uh your your story look different from what we've been told that you you know, you put your stuff in the vehicle, cranked up the vehicle, and then that's when they approached you. So, as our standpoint, that's like basically trying to steal a vehicle, burglar a vehicle. That would not ever be the case because Okay. Well, I've already been here before for that exact same thing. Well, cuz you weren't even in the location where you supposed to rent Yeah, it's on the first floor. Okay, you weren't even there. You was at the part where they return. On the second floor, correct. All right. So, what I need you to do, Do put your phone down, and your backpack? Turn around, put your hands behind your back. Really? You're going to be arresting me? Yeah, you're going to be arrested for what? Put yourself down. Burglary of a motor vehicle. Criminal intent. Take your bag off. Burglary of a motor vehicle. Really? Take your bag off. Wow. Turn around and face this way. Take your bag all the way off. Turn your hands behind your back. Okay, we're going to go to the front of this car right here. Can we just go back there and view the footage together? Shortly afterward, police checked the man's identity and belongings, and it appeared that several unexpected truths were uncovered. They say you got eight, you had eight charges DMV. Well, cuz we have keys right here that says, you know, it's a prevent theft, remove valuables from rental car, and lock doors. It's a 2023 Dodge Charger. And it says 10 Texas. There's a There's a QR code. I'm going to try to scan that and see what It just keeps getting better and better. What did they say? Criminal trespass at eight, and there's another report that we had on him, and it was Oh, really? A follow up warrant. Can you give me the report number? I don't know what else So, he's got a Zippo, so let's leave it right there. I'll just let the jail know that there's probably going to be a problem. Yeah. Where is all my belongings? They're in the back of my car. Why aren't you letting me in? I'm sorry? Why aren't you letting me in? Because I have to bring you in first. See, my test gets more trash. They were too old. Oh, yeah. So it's got THC. Yeah. Yeah, um typically this is not something you can buy. This is something that would come from a different state um or from a medical marijuana dispensary. But I don't think it'd be from the medical marijuana dispensary cuz it doesn't have any prescription label or anything on it. Um so maybe from Colorado or something like that. Says But Florida doesn't recognize that as medical marijuana. No, not to my knowledge, no. Typically it comes in a something, you know, it will say It would say, you know, truly or you know, with that name of that company on there right to identify it as medical equipment. I don't even know how to spell it. What is that for? I have no idea. Oh, not for smoking. I don't I don't even know what that is. I I'm not even joking. Does anybody know what this is? The white-haired suspect continued shifting the blame onto others to protect himself, unaware that police had already seen through every trick he tried to play. Yeah. Okay, these are these are two stolen shirts, right? >> Yes, sir. So, okay. These are layered. I tried to I wore them all, okay? Wait. Wait. And then would you say this one's stolen, too, right? Now, hear me out. When we style ourselves before we go out, we want to look nice, right? When you add multiple pairs of clothing on, would you call that layering? Yeah, but it's in here layered. I get it. I know that. So, your typical thing is you layer your clothing, and today you layered your clothing again. I'm wearing it. Okay. It's all good, isn't it? One is a layer, another is All right. Yeah, yeah. Um okay. So, this one's not yours, either, right? Is this one yours? Yes. Okay, you came in the black shirt with these shorts. In the shirt, in the bunny shirt. >> are your shoes, too, that you came in here. Yeah, in the bunny shirt and the hat, but the bunny shirt and the backpack, that is mine. Why'd you leave the backpack by the door? Cuz I didn't I really was genuinely not planning on stealing, and And know that they get nervous when people walk around there stores with a backpack. >> Okay. So in if you didn't genuinely plan on stealing why were you in the store for 6 and 1/2 hours? We literally got stranded. Why were you in the fitting room for 2 hours? I was halfway hiding and then halfway talking to myself. Why were you hiding? From her and her shopping and her eating sweets. So if she already said what's going on to my friends down the road, you know, um I don't want to look at you as a liar cuz next time I open the door I might change up, you know, but you've been pretty straightforward but >> Yeah, like there was no mastermind playing here. You didn't come in here with an intent to steal? I came in here with the intent to return that bracelet. And then what? When they told me that I couldn't because I did not have my identification to be cheap. If you were wondering how thieves managed to remove security tags using that device, police had already investigated and uncovered exactly how it worked. If she says so, it should. Imagine that. Can you do it again for my camera? I want to make sure it's on record. Yeah. Nothing wrong with that. Here you go. Thank you. Appreciate it. I'm sorry about that. >> That was okay. It's all That's crazy though. Yeah, it be like that. Yeah, this is a no-no. It's a current ad. The suspects were charged with theft by shoplifting and possession of criminal tools. This case showed that blaming others and denying responsibility only made the consequences worse as every action was already documented and ultimately led to heavier charges. You had any contact with them? I'm not answering questions. I'm just starting. So question, ask the lady if I give her her money back, I'll give her something in writing cuz I didn't do nothing wrong. On November 12th, 2025, police contacted a woman who was believed to be the victim of a home sale conducted through Facebook Marketplace. Let's see what happened next. You want to start at the beginning for all the paperwork? Oh, yeah. Um God. So he sold me this trailer yesterday. I bought it. He told me I could wait until the end of the month to switch lot rent over so that way I didn't have to pay lot rent. Figured he was just being nice because I'm a single mom with two kids just trying for none of us to be homeless at this point cuz I It's been a [ __ ] show. So, I ended up calling the leasing company today, the Oak Woods, just to like clarify cuz he says he's moving out of state. So, I'm like, I need to clarify and make sure he doesn't need to sign anything. Like I would I just want to get this done and get away. Right. She decides to tell me, "Oh, he's been trying to scam people. He cannot sell this. He cannot have anybody else live here because he owes them over $5,000." Mhm. So, I'm like, "Okay, great. That's cool." So, we came here. We didn't tell him we were coming here cuz I was going to show up without him knowing because based on how quick he's moving, he knows what he did and he's getting the [ __ ] out of this state. Mhm. I was calling him left and right on things. This is the title that I watched his girlfriend sign. It is not in his name or his girlfriend's name. This was yesterday signed in? >> Yes, yesterday. But you said she signed it? >> She signed it. The girlfriend signed it, yes. Okay. Yes. And so, I was like, "Well, for my legal obligations, like I need contact for to make sure this is okay." He provides me one number. I called the number. This guy has no clue what he's talking about. I ask him what the address is. He says, "Oh, I don't know. It's in mourning." I say, "Okay, what's your first What's your middle name and last name?" He goes dead silent. I said, "Hello." He said, "Oh, hang on." and then says nothing. He doesn't know his own middle name or last name. I know it's not him. Yeah. So, then I call him and I'm like, "Okay, well, maybe he sent me the wrong number. Like maybe he typed out the wrong number. I don't know. I don't I don't know. I wouldn't assume people would be this In reality, the current scene was the residence of the suspect's girlfriend who had already displayed extremely tense and aggressive behavior prior to this incident. Is she here? Yeah, she's inside as well. >> I just haven't seen her yet. >> give you a heads-up right now because my stepdad was here before I got here. He got out to try and talk to him and immediately it was an altercation. I don't know 100% what happened cuz I was not here, but I know a table was flipped and then he pulled a knife out on my stepdad. So then my stepdad pulled out a knife as well and was like, I have one too. Like what are you going to do about it? And that's all I know about that situation, but I I will say that that altercation did happen. Yeah. I myself have been over here probably 100 times. So I'm well aware No, no, no. Here. I'm well aware. So he doesn't own this? This It's your fur supposedly unless that's a fake title. Do you think the office would have that info on who actually owns it? What I'm thinking is this female have essentially forged a document. Yep. Could potentially have forgery on her and then theft by deception on him. Cuz it was paid to him. That was what was believed to be the police's initial decision and at that moment officers proceeded to approach the house where tensions quickly escalated once again. So Brian, what's going on with this? >> We sold her this trailer. We never put the title in her name. We're like, hey, we know the guy. We gave him the number. See he's in like he's drunk. So my wife starts relaying everything they're saying from her phone to them. And she's like, oh, well you guys don't own the trailer. If I didn't own the trailer, I wouldn't have title wouldn't be signed. The title signed, we own the trailer. We never put it in our name. You don't have to put it in our name. By law they the trailer court said we didn't have to put it in our name. So we never put the title in our name. I have the message where I borrowed the money from the other dude talking about I sold the trailer. I'm going to have to get something writing to you so so I can pay you back the money I owe you. Here's the she's starting to say there's $5,000 owed on this trailer. No, there's not. There ain't no five thousand owed on this trailer. Lot rent 631 a month. Been paid since I got here. So $5,000 owed, there's no [ __ ] way. Well, that's according to the office. >> Yeah, and I tried I know what he's after. He said, I just talked to him. So I called up there. Mhm. They closed at like 3:30. But you talk to them 10 minutes before you came here? No. They already knew we were putting a trailer up for it. Once since DCFS came and took our kids. Mhm. Because all the [ __ ] We told them it's sold. She goes, "All right, sell it. We'll start sending people down there." So, who is this person? That's the person that we bought the trailer from like a year ago. Okay. Do you have his number? The last number I have is the number I gave her to them. I got him on Facebook, too. Yeah, if you could give me his number. >> Yeah. Are you supposed to go through the office when you sell? >> you don't have to go through the office. You own the trailer. Yeah, I bought it, never registered. I have where he where I can show you his tags right here. I'm going to go back to >> Why would you never get it titled in your name? >> we didn't have His arguments became increasingly illogical as he appeared to be making excuses for his actions and desperately trying to justify them in a roundabout way. I want and I told her if it is that big a deal tomorrow when my bank opens I'll go give her the money back cuz it ain't really an issue with the money. But, they came over here acting crazy and we're like, "What are you talking about? We screwed you over. We don't screw people over. We have no reason to. He gave you the title the same way it was given to us." So, who signed the title? He did. We've had that title since he did it. It was just wasn't dated. Okay. And we didn't date the title. Here's where I bought it back in for 3,000, two bedroom, two bath. Mhm. I don't got nothing to lie to you about cuz I know what I own. Go here to marketplace. I scroll all the way down here. Here it is, sold. That was way back then. I own the trailer. Okay. Well, what I'm saying is according to that title you do not. So, who owns it then? Looks like whoever this girl is. No, I own it cuz here's where So, was it left open and then when you sold it yesterday >> I just never put it it sounds like Katie signed No. No, no, no. signed the title. I have the stuff right here. signed it. They just It was never dated. The only thing we told her July 1st date it cuz it wasn't dated. But, everything was signed. Nobody signed nothing. That title was signed, been in my safe since I got the trailer. We got the title. We never put the title into my name. Because we were told by the previous manager >> you're saying it was signed and Katie just dated it yesterday? >> even date it. There was no signa- The only thing was on there was a signature and a print. >> Then who dated it? She had to have because we didn't date it. I told her yesterday it ain't dated, so whenever you choose to go do with it is it's on you. We never dated it. Okay, that doesn't make sense to me. I told her to date it when I handed her the title and she handed me the title and said there's no date on it. Meanwhile, the man's girlfriend was interviewed separately, but her behavior only raised even more suspicion. We sold that We sold the house. Okay. And she wanted the house, so she gave us the money. Mhm. And yeah. Okay. So she gave you the 2,000 and then do you know this for a guy that the title is on? I wasn't here. I'm I moved from Indiana in May. All right, right. Yeah. But have you had a contact with him? I'm not answering questions. I'm just letting you Well, hold on. You guys aren't leaving. You're staying here. That's fine. We'll stay here, but I'm really curious to what what you're trying to get at. >> I'm trying to get down to the bottom of it is what I'm trying to get >> I just told you to give me an email. I'll email you where this guy had called you and asked him to sign the title. And I have it. When? When I first bought it. Hold on. I got to answer this customer. >> Go for it. Alpha Romeo. How much longer? Cuz I got to go meet somebody. I don't know. Other officer's talking to the office right now. Okay. Cuz I I there's that note on this. Okay. I'm just saying he's talking to the office right now. >> Like I told her, I'd give her the two grand back tomorrow when my bank opens. Yep. She don't She Yeah, she don't want the two grand now. Shut up. Her name is I got to double check. Yeah, her phone number is Looks like that she received After that, police confirmed that the phone number claimed to belong to the owner was actually his wife's number, and they proceeded to make their decision on the case. Cuz that's when he sent me >> criminal forgery and theft by deception for her and theft by deception for him. Okay. I 8121 like Yeah. Do you guys have any idea if I got to get some sort of appointment? Yeah, just hang tight for us. All right, Brian. Can you might get off the phone for me? For what? >> to be under arrest. For what am I being arrested for? The chains behind your back. All right, can I be fully >> Theft by deception. How? How's it theft when I just said I'd give the lady back her money? Yesterday I said it three times on the body cam. I bought the trailer and now I'm going to jail because You're not cooperating. The man was charged with theft by deception, while his wife was charged with theft by deception and forgery.
