Rutherford and Sullivan are currently busy trading their street cred for a permanent record in the local jail. They managed to rack up charges for tampering with evidence and failure to comply. It was a truly brilliant strategy. Their evening adventure ended with a very quiet and sober meeting with the booking officer. The scenic route through Monunroe County became a high-speed disaster on August 25th, 2023. Michael Jones decided that a stolen semi-truck was the perfect vehicle for his 50-mile afternoon joy ride. The local prosecutor is currently reviewing the extensive damage he caused across multiple counties. Eight different law enforcement agencies are coordinating to ensure his future stays strictly behind bars. Shopping in Slidell took a dramatic turn for Kelsey Baird on November 1st, 2025. After attempting to lift items from a department store, she sprinted toward a getaway car driven by her friend Eric Budro. The duo likely thought they were home free until a helpful citizen decided to join the pursuit. >> Okay, come on. Walk with me. Baird and Budro were promptly introduced to the local jail staff after their ride ended in a less than luxurious fashion. It is safe to say that the local shopping scene is much safer without this dynamic duo's presence. A routine crash investigation was cut short by a stolen vehicle report on August 26th, 2021. Florida Highway Patrol troopers spotted the target vehicle and were soon pushing tripledigit speeds on Interstate 75. The driver was seen reaching under the seat as the chase reached dangerous levels near Fort Meyers. marker. nearby. The stolen vehicle has been recovered and the driver has been removed from the public roads for the foreseeable future. This case serves as a stern reminder that troopers are always watching even when they are busy with other calls. A motorcycle enthusiast decided to turn Interstate 10 into her personal drag strip on February 19th, 2024. A Florida Highway Patrol trooper spotted the rider cruising at 92 mph, which apparently was not fast enough for this aspiring racer. Sanders window. middle. Give it up. The writer later explained that she ignored the flashing lights simply because she did not want a ticket. An excuse that worked about as well as her escape attempt. Her career as a corrections officer is currently on a very awkward pause after her bike was impounded and her freedom was revoked. She traded a simple fine for a felony charge, proving that math was never her strongest subject. Wednesday night, November 26th, 2025 saw a silver sedan playing a dangerous game of tag with the California Highway Patrol. A group of passengers decided that red lights were merely decorative as they sped through the San Fernando Valley. >> In the air as well, you can see the night sun on the suspect here. Wanted again for speed and running red lights. Uh Gil, do we know if this started on the freeway uh or on surface streets where you would find red lights? >> Yeah, we believe it started on the freeway. CHP tried to pull the vehicle over for uh high speed. when it got on surface streets, it was running red lights. So, that's really kicked up the uh the urgency to get this guy pulled over, but he's been driving like this ever since on surface streets. He really hasn't reentered any of the freeways in the area. Now, here he is. Look at this. They're going to do a pit right there. They they tapped him. He's out of control. And not enough. And they're going to do it again. There it is. Oh, look at that move. >> Wow. That That might do it. That's going to do it. Oh, passenger jumping out. Oh my god. >> Two out of the driver's side. We're going to stick with the driver here. >> One, two, three, and two on the other side. >> Passenger tackled there. >> Oh, >> and there goes the driver here. And two right together now. And that guy's going to get tackled. That's the driver that's uh going to go down underneath the tree. Here's a passenger still running down the street. We'll stick with him. They got the driver and two passengers or one passenger in custody. This guy running out of steam here trying to get around that car. He's going to be taken down by the CHP here in just a second as he goes right around the car and the trash cans. This is it. They're both exhausted, it looks like, but >> it looks like the officer is going to take him into custody there under that tree. So, wow. Uh we didn't know that there was that many people in the vehicle, >> but uh uh two pit maneuvers there ending the chase here. This is on uh Garden Grove Avenue off of Dorman. And uh at this point, the driver down here uh the vehicle here looks like he might have tapped a parked car. There's one of the suspects there. And the vehicle, I don't believe that's the driver. That was the uh passenger coming out of the passenger side of the vehicle. And the driver's about mid block somewhere in here that was taken down. So all three, it looks like they're all in custody at this point. But uh dangerous pursuit. Thankfully, no one was hurt. And it sounds like all three are now in custody. >> Are we looking at only three? I thought I saw more than three suspects. So maybe maybe four. I could have sworn I saw five to be honest. It just looked like so many people coming out of that car, but I could be wrong. >> I saw two come out of the driver's side, which was interesting. Uh, one I saw come out of the passenger, but there may have been others. Uh, it happened very quickly. They were able to jump out very fast after they made that turn. So, we do see at least three in custody at this point. And I'm hearing the CHB talking about the driver in custody. We have this is one of the passengers here and uh the other one that ran by the the trash cans there in cuz here they come down uh the street. So, those are the three that we know of that are in custody. >> Yeah, it looked like the silver sedan suffered the most for the driver's sins when it was tactically crushed against the pavement on Garden Grove Avenue. It ended its career as a crumpled hood ornament, likely feeling very betrayed by the people who pushed it to such extremes. The poor car never asked for a life of crime. This once reliable machine is now destined for a scrapyard. July 5th, 2025 began with a blue SUV behaving more like a pinball than a luxury vehicle on Highway 128. Shawn O'Bryant led deputies on a frantic chase that proved his driving skills were as questionable as his life choices. >> 7300 bomb. We're still inbound. Airborne if you can box them in right now. Troopers. Trip. I got both of them here. I need his life started now. You >> good? >> I'm all right. >> I'm all right. I'm good. >> O'Bryant eventually ended his morning joy ride upside down in a ditch and in the custody of Garland County deputies. He is now facing a laundry list of charges including theft by receiving and reckless driving. His temporary freedom was very short-lived. He will be spending a significant amount of time reflecting on his driving skills from a jail cell. Alexander Petrades apparently thought the speed limit was merely a suggestion on December 21st, 2023 when a state trooper attempted to intervene. He tried a friendly wave out the window instead of actually pulling over his gray sedan. be coming to a stop here in the Cottage Hill Drive. >> What's going on there? >> This guy just pass those people, >> huh? >> Did I just pass those people? >> Yeah, you just passed me. >> Yeah, but I was just trying to pass everyone. It was It was open lane to pass. Speed limit 55. >> How fast I going? >> Going 63. When you pass me, you got your driver license on you? >> No, I don't have my driver license on. >> Do you got a valid license? >> Yeah, I do have valid license. >> All right, go ahead and slide that forward. >> I got to go, bro. Sorry. Get on the ground right now. Get on the ground. >> Get on the ground. >> Get on the ground. Get on the ground. >> I'm going tase your ass. You better get on the ground. >> Better get on the ground. >> Stay down. Stay down. >> Stay down. Get on the ground now. >> I'm scared, man. Get on the ground now. >> On the ground. >> I didn't do anything now. >> Don't Don't put me on the ground. >> Get on the ground now. Now. >> Mr. Petrites eventually traded his sedan for a series of taser shocks and a very uncomfortable wrestling match in a field. He was found to have an active felony warrant, which certainly explained his sudden burst of athletic ambition. This was a masterclass in how to turn a minor speeding violation into a multi-day stay in the Saline County Jail. The residents of East Los Angeles got an unwanted front row seat to a mechanical meltdown on September 30th, 2022. A stolen SUV owner decided to test how far a vehicle can travel while melting its own tires down to the rims. >> For sure on the driver's side, yeah, the left side, the the passenger side does look a bit flat up front or at least really low. >> Sure. I can't I can't uh I I I can't really make out if it's just because the vantage point that we're at they the back tire obviously is not. But you know when the car is going that slowly it it makes it all all the tires look like they're um a little wonky but we Yeah, it looks like it is flat. Yeah, absolutely. When you see Okay, watch for a pit maneuver here. This could be an ideal spot. Uh he's not going too fast. They're certainly set up for it. Looks like they might do it. Yeah, they're tush. Okay, a pit maneuver. Not super aggressive there, but they did turn it a little bit. Uh, it didn't work. Now he is, you can see the back tires kind of spinning out there. He's trying to get away. He's in the oncoming lanes. Keep that in mind. So, oncoming traffic. Uh, now he's moved over. They may try this again because he's not really moving very fast. Now, uh, with two flat tires, it's debatable at how much maneuvering he can actually do here. is getting worse when it comes to his ability to get away and maneuver. Not sure what's going on in the driver's mind here, I'm sure, trying to figure out what to do, but clearly they're not going to get away at this point. They just can't move fast enough any longer. So, the CHP is there right behind them. This started with the sheriff's department as a a stolen vehicle and then they transferred it over when it was on the freeway, but now off to Surface Streets now in East Los Angeles. He just turned off of Medford Street. I don't know if that's still Medford southbound eastern. And it looks like he's taking a left. I don't know if this is an entry ramp or just a bridge getting back on the freeway as that passenger side uh tire just completely disintegrates. There it goes. Now he's on the rim. I don't know what the driver's side tire looks like, but there's no way he's going to be able to maneuver that thing on on steel. All right, you're you're watching our live streaming newscast at 6:30 right now. This is an end of a pursuit. This is happening in Monterey Park. You can see the driver was driving um kind of in circles in this area on a Bajo in Monterey Park. And now police, they they really kind of cornered this person because they must not know this area very well because they went into a culde-sac. Their front rims are they are on rims basically in the front uh tires because they hit a spike strip earlier and they just hit another spike strip. Now you can see what is this driver going to do? Are they going to get out of the car? Are they going to keep police trying with their guns drawn? also joining us during this pursuit. What's that that he pulled out? Do you see that, Bruce? He pulled out something that looked like a long stick. Are you there? >> What we thought maybe >> Oh, he's breaking the windows, Bruce. >> ASP. He's got an ass. They're going to break the windows out. >> Yeah, they just did. >> Yeah, that's an ASP, which is like a baton. It's an expandable baton. >> Yeah, I've never actually seen that. I know that's like sounds crazy, but I've never I've never seen um them pull out something like uh oh, what's that? Oh, he's trying to go. Bruce, his there's lots of there's so much smoke coming from his tires right now. He's not going anywhere. >> Yep. This This guy does not want to give up. Um, I hate to say it's going to end uh poorly, but uh at this point there's obviously a lot of irrational >> I've never seen this driver. >> The suspect's ability to create massive plumes of smoke suggests he might have a future in theatrical special effects. Unfortunately, his navigation skills led him straight into a dead-end culde-sac with nowhere to run. He will likely spend his next few years honing a different set of skills in a state-run facility. April 2nd, 2024 was a dark day for a 75-year-old man who just wanted to wash his car in Colombia. Jaze Lopez decided to escalate a carjacking attempt into a 28 mile chase toward the Jefferson City airport. >> Pulled me out of my car, had me out here on the ground, beating the crap out of me. >> Okay. >> Do you know who this person is? >> No, it's a Hispanic guy. >> Okay. >> And then he got in my car, tried to take my car. I was poking my demons in his eyes, you know, trying to keep >> let them know. >> Wow. >> I can't believe it. We were >> He beat the crap out of me. >> Who would think that would happen in the middle of the day if >> he left his phone, too? >> Okay. >> His phone was in my car when he got out. >> This This guy >> I pulled away. >> You did? >> And that's what saved me, I think. >> Okay. Okay. Were you just here doing business at the car wash? >> Getting ready to >> just he opened my door and pulled me out. I was like, "What's going on?" You know, >> he yelled to me. I was over here. That's my truck. I was over here cleaning my truck up. He yelled at me and I said, "Look, get out of there." And I wasn't sure >> which car it was, right? I wasn't sure. >> He had blood coming all the way down his face. >> Okay. >> And I want to have medics cuz that that >> Yeah, they need to be looked at. I agree. Did he get medic for >> How old are you, sir? >> 75. >> 75y old male. >> So he yelled at me and I went and I said, "Look, get out of there." And I went and I said, "I'm getting my gun." I grabbed my gun out of my truck. I branished it. I didn't put my trigger on the trigger or anything like that. I said, "You need to make the right decision and get out of here." >> Okay. >> He walked over to his car. He took off. I got pictures up to Highway 63. on be going back onto just driving in circles in the grass. Driving circles in the ground. >> He's now going to be going south on 63. station Paul 65. Running towards the ramp to your west. He's trying to go get >> 450. >> Okay, he is on the airport ground. Uh, red shirt, red shorts, had a hanger here. He drove through the fence. He's at the north corner of the hangers on the west side of the field. >> Copy that. Hangar the north corner. The hangers the west side of the field. Red shirt and red shorts. >> All right, I got units making copy. Uh, making contact here. >> They're making contact on the field. Lopez's violent rampage left a senior citizen injured and the Columbia community in a state of total shock. The multi- agency pursuit caused significant traffic delays and forced several motorists off the road during their daily commute. The impact was felt by hundreds of people. Residents are now resting a bit easier knowing this individual is no longer a threat. Thursday, July 13th, 2023, a black Dodge Challenger with dark tint was seen tailgating and driving recklessly on the interstate. The driver utilize the emergency shoulder to overtake traffic at speeds exceeding 120 mph. >> There's traffic somewhere in there. There's a whole bunch of launch trucks that are blocking. just on the right shoulder. We've lost camera. He's behind the white semi on the right. >> Do you want aviation? Have the door. Looks like he's stopping. >> Vehicle stopping. Bravo shoulder. Vehicle stopping. Get out. Get your hands on the corner. Hands down the corner now. Get your hands out of the car. Stop. Stop. >> Stop. Could you give me the dog? >> Oh my god. The two occupants were involved in a heated debate over who was actually driving during the high-speed flight. The male passenger was concerned about his probation status, while the female occupant claimed she had been at the wheel. Both individuals were detained as animal control was called to take possession of a dog found in the car. Tripledigit speeds became the norm on Arkansas roads on April 6th, 2022. A blacked out Dodge Charger Hellcat decided to test its horsepower against the Arkansas State Police in a high-speed game of tag. The driver wo through traffic, hoping the stealth look of the car would help them disappear into the horizon. 076 102 your face. Come back down. Heat. Heat. Heat. Law enforcement took immediate control of the scene once the powerful vehicle was stopped and the driver was secured. This particular speed enthusiast has traded his horsepower for a stationary cell in the local jail. On February 24th, 2023, a stolen Toyota Highlander pulled Wawaossa officers into a slippery pursuit across snow-covered streets. An all-terrain vehicle turned city streets into an illegal racetrack on April 25th, 2021. Daryl Stury was spotted speeding through Fulton County and initially ignored the sirens to make a U-turn and flee into a nearby park. After a brief medical check for a pre-existing wrist injury, he was delivered straight to the Fulton County Jail. This was a very long and complicated way to avoid a simple traffic stop for an all-terrain vehicle violation. On June 20th, 2023, just before late morning traffic settled along Highway 50 in Otto County, deputies were scrambling after reports of shots fired and a driver allegedly trying to force head-on crashes with other motorists.
