Hello, my name is Officer Norman. And this is my partner, Officer Pidez. [music] We work for the San Antonio Police Department, and we are super excited to talk to you [music] guys about our up-and-coming bike rodeos. >> The rodeo is scored not only by how well you ride your bike, but more importantly, [music] how safe you ride your bike. Now, let's roll in a safety first. First off, make sure your tires are [music] properly inflated. We don't want squishy tires, we want firm tires. Protect your head and protect [music] your face. Make sure you have a helmet that fits before you get onto your bike. >> Noise makers warn people you're a coming. You can get a bell, a horn, or even your own unique alarm sound. Make sure you have a light in the front so people can see you at night. Red reflector in the rear, red reflector right here. This way people behind you see you. Chain guards, got to have them. This will stop your shoelaces from getting caught in the chain. You don't want to get tangled by the bike. >> Before we start, let's make [music] sure we set some ground rules that you will have to remember through every portion of this course. Let us remember [music] to keep our feet completely off the ground like the ground is lava. Ride in between the lines without having the front or [music] back tires touching the lines, and most of all, have fun. >> High five them. Let's do it. Let's start the course. First is the steering course. This one you can ride fast. Notice how he zips through quickly, pedaling, and stays within the lines. Now, this one, slower is better. Slow like a turtle. He goes across the course without letting the wheels touch the lines or feet touch the ground. Next up is the circle. Ride your bike slow and controlled through the course. Same as the last one. Don't let your wheels touch the lines [music] and don't let your feet touch the ground. Weaving through cones. See how he zigzags or rides in between the cones without touching the cones or touching the ground. >> We hope that you safely ride your bike not only on this course, but every time you want to ride it. >> We look forward to seeing everyone at the bike rodeo this year and we will see you all very soon.
