Valuchia County residents witnessed a bizarre occurrence on December 8th, 2025 involving a man and a missing convertible. Calvin Curtis Johnson allegedly helped himself to a BMW while the owner was simply walking his dog. A decision that quickly led to a high velocity disaster. >> Hi. >> Hi. What's wrong? >> I got my car stolen >> from here. >> Yeah. >> Okay. I got here at 3 uh4 to 3 >> and I came back down here at 3 4 3 3:30 and it was gone. Um I had left the keys in the cup holder and closed the cup holder. >> Okay. >> Um and so >> Okay. Were you out here with anybody that might have grabbed it? >> That might have What? >> That somebody you were with that might have taken it home or anything? >> No, I was by myself. >> All right. Yeah. >> Who did you see get into it? >> Uh, it was a guy probably maybe 30 years old. Uh, >> it wasn't his car. >> No. >> I kept looking at him because he asked me if I had light. I was like, there's no way he drives a BMW. >> Would you be able to identify that guy if you ever saw him again? >> Yeah. >> Okay. He's 30-y old white male. >> 30-y old white male. Uh, shoulder length hair. >> Blonde. >> Blonde. Yeahond. A little bit like me when I was younger. >> Uh, he kept asking for a light and I was like, "How in the world does he have a BMW if he doesn't have a light for a cigarette?" >> Okay. wand shoulder length here. >> Yep. >> 130 mph and I swear to God >> that's you got the fire extinguisher. >> I got the car. I don't know. I teleported or something. >> Where'd you get the car from? >> I don't know. I don't know. >> I don't know. I teleported. >> Where did you fire? >> Come over here. Give me just one second. Put your hands up on my car. >> Sir or the hospital? Did you come from Bsentennial Park? >> It came from >> Bsentennial Park. >> You came from north. >> They told me X-Men to do it. >> Okay. But the dog park >> I don't know. X-Men told me I don't do that stuff. >> I have a six. >> I got one tent. >> I keep just Hamilton. Someone told me >> just sit tight. >> Someone's in my head. >> Cut him out of his seat. >> It's not his head. >> You know what a part is? I don't want to win. >> I got one secure. >> Thank you for saving me. >> Give me just one second. That's not going to catch up. >> Yeah. Signal 20 says, >> he stole the car. >> I don't know how I got Thomas. >> Hey, can can you give me that tag? >> Christopher Martin. >> Go ahead with it. Oh, you got you got you put you got you saved me from the aliens, >> bro. >> Yeah, I need some water. >> A little bit easy. Watch your lips. >> Yeah, it's one of the same. >> Okay. Step forward. Can I get some water >> here? We'll get some >> Yeah. You're going to need to go to the hospital. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Johnson later claimed he had actually teleported into the driver's seat to escape an impending extraterrestrial threat. This intergalactic traveler was promptly grounded and sent to an area hospital for evaluation. He now faces charges of grand theft and driving with a suspended license. Authorities are currently preparing to teleport him directly to the Valuchia County Branch Jail. December 20th, 2025 became a field day for Ohio police when they realized the driver of a stolen vehicle was barely tall enough for a roller coaster. An 11-year-old led authorities on a frantic chase through Newberg Heights before an abrupt turn sent the car into a local residence. I have A GROUND RIGHT NOW. >> I'm sorry. >> I have two in a backyard right now. >> His name is Clark Delas. Excuse me. >> ON THE STOMACH NOW. ON YOUR STOMACH NOW. >> Please >> do NOT LOOK AT ME. WHERE'S THE THIRD ONE? HE OVER THERE. >> Stand by. Got two prone out there complying. I'm getting you an address. Stand by. Do not look at me. Get on the ground. Do not look at me. >> My mom. >> Do not look at me. STAY ON THAT GROUND. >> You're in there. GET OVER HERE NOW. GET OVER HERE NOW. GO. JUST GET ON THE GROUND. Stand by. I got all three now. Stand by. >> I want to do. >> The young trio later confessed to learning their grand theft auto skills from instructional videos on YouTube. Although they crashed into a home, everyone involved emerged without a scratch. The children were eventually released to their parents. Juvenile court officials are now tasked with handling the legal fallout for these underage enthusiasts. But one pressing question remained. Should parents be held responsible when kids this young steal a car and take off like this? Share your thoughts to let us know in the comments. A routine traffic stop turned into an impromptu track meet on August 11th, 2024 when one driver decided he had better places to be. The Florida Highway Patrol watched in disbelief as the suspect hit the gas. He left the trooper standing in the dust of a residential neighborhood. trans. 301 Kentucky. >> 1542. >> 1542. I got a passenger. Don't move. Don't move. Stay right there. >> He's running. >> Shut the up. >> Hey, passenger ran that way. Back to K9. His name's R or some [ __ ] Black male about 6'2. I deserve it, bro. I deserve it. You know what? a no with no license, bro. >> That's exactly a got [ __ ] brother. >> The runner eventually admitted he was terrified of returning to a prison cell. He claimed his lack of a valid license was the primary motivation for his flight. Officers called in K-9 units to track the individual through the neighborhood. Justice finally caught up with him after his many traffic violations. He spent the rest of his evening reflecting on his poor life choices while in custody. While most people were winding down on November 7th, 2025, a Marshall County deputy was beginning a highstakes pursuit of a reckless pickup truck. Robert Ray seemingly decided that a flat tire and a swaying camper were the least of his worries. He soon escalated the situation into a violent confrontation involving gunfire. >> 21. I just ran him. He had a pole. He's still going. 21 wrecked down the house. He wrecked out the house. Robert Ray sadly didn't make it after the ordeal ended in a collision with a private residence. Investigators determined he had suffered a self-inflicted injury. Miraculously, no law enforcement officers or residents of the home were harmed during the chaotic exchange. The local sheriff released the footage to help the community understand the extreme dangers his team faced that night. The holiday spirit was noticeably absent on December 26th, 2021 when a teenager decided to turn residential streets into a high-speed playground. Trex Lontonio Davis was clocked traveling at a staggering 104 mph. He clearly had no intention of following the rules of the road. I hit him. He's >> I hit him. He's still running. He's going back on. Understand what she said. I am having a difficult time hearing you over the background noise. Please try things like turning your fans down and closing up. Get out of here. >> A search of the Jeep later revealed a treasure trove of methamphetamine and marijuana packaged for sale. Davis was also found to be driving with an outstanding warrant. He was eventually taken into custody with the help of a canine unit after trying to physically assault an officer. The young man now faces a long list of felony charges including aggravated fleeing and drug possession. A quiet coffee run in Battleground took a chaotic turn on December 16, 2025 when deputies surrounded a stolen vehicle in a Starbucks parking lot. Danielle Crosby decided a caffeine fix was more important than surrendering. She quickly turned the parking lot into a demolition derby. We got traffic. It looks like we're set to go north. Northbound 7 seconds. Hands up. >> Back up. Back up. >> Get in your car. Get in your car and pin him. Get in your car. Pit him. >> Back up. Back up. Mike, if you ran your car, he's going to hit us. Back up. I got you. Come back. Come back. Come back. Come back. Crosby was eventually apprehended and booked into the Clark County Jail on a mountain of felony charges. Her history as a convicted felon only complicated her legal standing. Despite the suspect ramming several patrol vehicles, no officers sustained any injuries during the arrest. This career criminal will now have plenty of time to contemplate her actions from behind bars. August 10th, 2024 saw Florida troopers join a desperate hunt for a Hyundai Kona reaching speeds of 110 miles per hour. The driver, 34year-old Luke Adam Arnold, was a wanted man. He was suspected of committing felony battery and child abuse. passing 167. Traffic is light. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Careful. Roll out. Spider hands up. Master let you choose your report. >> Arnold was eventually transported to the Lee County Jail where he was held on charges of felony fleeing and driving with a suspended license. Law enforcement successfully removed a dangerous individual from the highway before he could cause any further harm. This case serves as a stern reminder that high-speed escape attempts rarely end well for the suspect. A blue motorcycle caught the eye of an Arkansas trooper on October 14th, 2025, leading to a chase that the rider was clearly not prepared for. The driver pushed her bike to speeds exceeding 70 mph on gravel roads. She seemingly forgot that gravity is not a mere suggestion. 50 gravel road. Let's see. He wiped out >> lay right here. I got to get you out of this ditch. >> Come here. >> Do you know this person? >> No. >> Are you okay? Okay. >> Although the rider was accidentally struck by a patrol car after her spill, she escaped with only minor bruising and no broken bones. She was medically cleared at a local hospital before being hauled off to the Crawford County Detention Center. This grandmother now faces multiple charges, including reckless driving and fleeing from the law. What looked like a simple reckless driving call on May 9th, 2016 quickly evolved into a life ordeath situation for a trapped passenger. Troopers realized too late that the woman inside the car was a victim. Thomas Gorman chose to hit the gas and drag a trooper along for a terrifying ride. 319 in front of me. Got a female. Down. Keep going down. He's about to lose control. He lost control of the 39. 39 over one. You lost control. Heat. Heat. go hey Gorman was finally subdued after a brief struggle and now faces serious charges including kidnapping and felonious assault. The female passenger was reunited with her family after receiving treatment for injuries sustained during the ordeal. This incident highlights the incredible bravery of officers who risk their lives to rescue those in immediate danger. June 5th, 2022 was a busy night for the Georgia State Patrol thanks to a motorcycle rider who thought the highway was his personal stage. Alexander Aldridge darted through traffic at speeds exceeding 100 mph. He clearly felt the laws of Georgia were optional. Coming up on camera. Hey, is that unit that started his 108? Is he still with me or did he just break off? >> Yeah, I lost visual. Did that other unit got visual on him? Yeah, I'm 1022 on that. He's going to be he's going to be passing camera now. >> Yeah, they're 285 passing Canler now. Left lane. Tag number X-ray Lincoln 032. XL uh 0342. XL 0342. Left link. All right. >> Okay. >> Aldridge was eventually captured and transported to the Fulton County Jail. He was also discovered to have an outstanding warrant from a neighboring county. His motorcycle was towed away while he faced charges for reckless driving and fleeing from police. It seems his days of taunting troopers on the highway have come to an abrupt and legal end. Montgomery County police faced a nightmare scenario on December 13th, 2023, involving a suspect who decided traffic laws were strictly optional. The driver showed no regard for human life. He repeatedly smashed into police vehicles while driving the wrong way on a major thoroughare through uh the grass back out towards >> I just got He just hit my He just hit my car. >> All right, somebody get on a calling at 14. Don't Don't If he has a back in He's trying, guys. >> All right. All right. Step back. Air 2220. I'm going to need another ambulance for two struck. >> Emergency crews were eventually called to the scene to extract individuals who had been trapped in the mangled wreckage. Three people were ultimately transported for medical care. The aftermath left the community shaken and the local police force dealing with significant damage to their fleet. This tragic event serves as a grim example of how quickly a pursuit can turn into a lifealtering disaster. A rented Dodge Charger became a high-speed hazard on May 6th, 2024 as it tore through the Florida night at dangerous speeds. Jaylen Rayan Robertson reached 130 mph. He even turned off his headlights in a desperate attempt to vanish from sight. Yeah. All right. Whatever 10315 Five pound. One more time. out. Rolling. I'm going to cover Dead off in the back seat. >> DON'T ME. HANDS. HANDS. LET ME SEE YOUR HANDS. >> Your hands. Let me see your hands. >> KEEP THOSE HANDS OFF. LET ME SEE THOSE HANDS. Keep them up. Keep them up. KEEP THEM UP. KEEP THEM UP. IF YOU LET ME SEE YOUR HANDS, PASSENGER. I DON'T SEE MY HANDS. GIVE THEM UP. EVERYBODY'S HANDS. STAY UP. >> Robertson was quickly apprehended and faces charges of felony fleeing and culpable negligence. His pregnant passenger was fortunately unharmed during his reckless display. The young man now has plenty of time to reflect on his actions while sitting in a jail cell. His attempt to play hide-and-seek with the highway patrol ended with a very real trip to the booking desk. Arkansas troopers weren't exactly cheering when an orange sport bike flew past them at 144 mph on May 7th of 2023. Jacob Costley even had the audacity to perform a wheelie at 100 mph. He seemed more interested in showing off than staying upright. 96. You got two. Get on 30 westbound. >> He just wrecked out at the roundabout. >> Hand up. >> Hey. Hey. Hold on. Back up. Hey. ON YOUR FEET. BACK UP, DUMBASS. ON YOUR FEET. FACE AWAY FROM US. >> BACK UP. COME ON. BACK UP TO US. Back up. Come to my side. Come to my side. Shoot. Mate, CIRCLE AROUND. LEFT. LEFT. Walk left. Get on your face again, dummy. Get on your face again. >> Iing told you to get on your face, buddy. He's good. We're good. We're good. >> Speeding tickets, bro. Stand up. >> He hit you. >> Costley was eventually taken into custody and found to have no insurance or a proper motorcycle endorsement. He was fortunately cleared of any major injuries by medical staff. The stunt rider was later transported to a detention center to face the legal consequences of his high-speed antics. This case proves that no amount of horsepower can outrun a radio and a determined trooper. May 17th, 2025 proved to be a headache for a South Carolina trooper when a truck driver decided to use his vehicle as a bumper car. Michael Sar allegedly sideswiped a patrol vehicle and kept on driving. He later claimed he had simply passed out while behind the wheel. You >> show me 1023. Step right here. GET ON THE GROUND. >> WHAT DID I DO? >> STEP ON THE GROUND. GET ON THE GROUND. >> WHAT DID I DO? >> GET ON THE GROUND. >> WHAT DID I DO, DUDE? >> GET ON THE GROUND RIGHT NOW. >> WHAT DID I DO? >> GET ON THE GROUND. PUT YOUR HANDS BEHIND your back. >> What did I do? >> Get on the ground. Lay face down. >> What did I do? >> Get on the ground. PUT YOUR HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING, DUDE. >> Right now, you're being placed under arrest. >> For what? >> Roll on your face. Get down. >> What did I do, man? What did I do? What did I do? >> Investigators discovered evidence that Sor had been huffing from a can of spray even after the initial collision occurred. He was promptly arrested and charged with a hit and run. This impaired driver was eventually hauled off to jail while the trooper surveyed the damage to his bumper. Was a clear-cut case of someone choosing a dangerous habit over the safety of everyone on the road. Leyon County became the backdrop for a frantic escape attempt on November 2nd, 2024. Sparked by a simple seat belt violation, Malikaziz Miller decided that fleeing in a blue Kia was a better idea than just taking a ticket. He led officers on a high-speed tour of the area. He's not. >> All right, I'm right in front of y'all. Let me get this intersection going to the TCC. >> All right, we're going right there. Damn. Let's go straight. Got him, baby. Another pit attempt. Another pit attempt. Pensacola Street. Uh, front of Granger. Front of Granger. Looks like bailout. Uh, looks like he might be giving up. Miller eventually admitted he fled because he was terrified of being caught with 75 grams of marijuana found inside the car. He was later booked into the local detention facility. His two passengers were also detained while authorities processed the drug charges and the felony fleeing count. Miller's attempt to dodge a minor traffic stop resulted in a major medical clearance and a permanent spot on a police report. Commuters on the 5 freeway had a front row seat to a slow motion catastrophe on November 3rd, 2022 involving a stolen big rig. The driver bizarrely taped messages to the windshield while sparks showered the highway from a shredded front tire. It was a scene straight out of a low-budget action movie >> right now, but now just smack in the middle um in between two lanes with three or four CHP officers behind him right now. >> Yeah, they They definitely know they are being pursued. They just don't want to pull over. And uh it is one of those wonderful moments where at least uh the great I was just about to say the wrong thing. I was just going to say at least it looks like it's a light flow of traffic. No, these four drivers >> um and they clearly have somewhere to get to. You don't want to go on this artery if you don't have somewhere to get to. And we know how like Thursday afternoon traffic is even worse than Friday sometimes, especially through there. My goodness. >> And you always worry about people if they don't have enough gas. You don't, you know, these these trucks are gas guzzlers, I would assume, but um you you don't know how many miles they can get being that they are long haul. They they do uh support long hall trips. >> But um again, we're watching the slow speed pursuit. You can see we're it's on uh the I5 right there. And uh Oh, look at that right there. That's the best thing about Sky Map 7. >> They might have some sort of strip set up. Yep. There you see the spike strips there along the freeway and the officers waiting there. And so hopefully he will not see these spike strips and just come to a stop or just drive right over them. He doesn't have much choice >> as we continue to follow this slow speed pursuit that's taking place. Again, it originated. >> Oh, and here he is approaching the spike strips. Oh, let's see if he can nope. He's going right over it with at least the right side of his tires and dragging it. Oh, let's hope this did something, but um get it back. Yep, definitely. Colleen, you're right. That tire is definitely low and it's going to be on those rims pretty soon. And that's certainly going to slow him down if it if he can even move. >> Yeah. >> Oh, we have Gabe Santos who's up in Air 7 with a bird's eye view. And what do you know, Gabe? >> Hey, Colleen. Ellen, good to be with you guys up here in Air. We've been monitoring this Big Rick pursuit. Uh well, we first heard about it coming out of Kern Valley. We understand Kern Kern County, excuse me, Kern County Sheriff's Department initiated this pursuit of this stolen Big Rig. And then uh you've been watching our uh our coverage from our news copter 7, our second news helicopter uh taking it over the Grapevine and now up towards Castic. We're still about 5 miles north of Casta now. And you saw CHP had spike strips. Oh. Oh, and there goes the front right tire. The front right tire has completely fallen off the vehicle. And this is going to be a big steering challenge for this driver for this driver as we maneuver air7 around from the driver's side now back to the passenger side to see by those spike strips. The tires in the back and uh from what we can tell Oh, and there it goes. There it goes. The tire's gone. So, that possibility for fire, uh we're clear from that for now. That tire's off and uh at least that tire catching fire, that's not something we have to worry about. The next thing we're going to have to worry about is the wear and tear on the wheel itself and possibly the brake rotors as that starts digging into the roadway surface. And you can kind of see it uh right under that wheel. You can see it drawing a white line into the roadway surface. So, it's definitely grinding in there pretty good. Making this uh big rig uh truck, this big rig cabed up. It's not even spinning. I don't even see the tire there. I don't see the rubber. It looks like Okay. Okay. If uh just in a little bit of the dark uh spot of the picture there, you can see where the rubber actually remains as Rob pushes in the camera. You can see the tread of the tires right there being held up. And you can see now sparks being created because that that rim isn't even turning anymore. Sparks are coming up. And I wouldn't be surprised if we see flames pretty soon here. And that's where you see that smoke. That's why we're seeing that smoke. A very dangerous situation. These cabs carry a lot of fuel and that could all go up in flames if this guy doesn't come to a stop pretty quickly here. >> I just really wish they would cuz they're probably very they're probably unaware of the hazard that is right directly below them. >> You can see where it's melted that rim down a bit. You can >> it's grinded down. Yeah, it looks >> slope. It's a pretty steep slope. Uh you'll you'll you'll see a lot of uh of uh turnout points for big rigs to use if they have brake problems. And you can imagine I don't think uh this driver's brakes. Oh, there he is trying to signal something to us. Look at his note. >> Yeah. Trying to point us to the note. But but unfortunately >> a smoky cab. How about that? >> Maybe he can't stop. Let's you know, never know. Maybe the brakes are locked up. Maybe he can't. I'm always trying to figure out maybe there's something there's there's something that's causing them great distress that they can't seem to pull over. But now he's hood. >> Now it seems like he's using his shirt to try and cover his mouth from the smoke. And there it is. More flames. >> Passenger. >> I mean, it's in the cab now. Well, it looks like they stopped, >> which is good. So, the brakes seem to be working. >> We've we've come to a stop, but that tire that was wedged under the wheel well there is now completely engulfed in flames, and that's only going to help burn the rest of the cabin. There he is. The driver, hands up, stepping out of the vehicle, down onto the pavement. This is a very good sign. And this might have been the only way to bring this thing to a stop was those spike strips actually causing uh this cab to set fire there. You can see there CHP moving in. A K9 unit also moving into position. This driver backing up. Hands in the air. It looks like he's cooperating. That's a very good sign there. Slowly backing up. He's not carrying that white piece of paper that he was so adamant getting us to see earlier. So there'll be questions after this as to what what that said, what he was trying to tell us. And you can see now this cab is going to go up in flames because it has uh it has a lot burning under there and that's going to catch really quickly that suspect >> the suspect was eventually taken into custody just as the massive vehicle was engulfed in flames. Fire crews were called in to battle the intense blaze. Traffic was snarled for hours while workers cleared the charred remains of the stolen tractor trailer from the roadway. This strange journey ended not with a delivery, but with a series of arrests and a very expensive cleanup bill. A South Carolina rookie received a baptism by fire on July 14th, 2025. When a routine patrol turned into a multi-state car chase, Shawn Johnson led a parade of patrol cars through grass fields and ditches. He seemed determined to keep his freedom at any cost. He was eventually identified via a background search and found to be driving with a suspended license. He was later booked into the Lancaster County Detention Center. This rookie's first day on the job certainly provided enough excitement to last an entire career. And you know what? This particular saga of high-speed failure is merely the opening act for the spectacular disasters waiting in our archives.
