Tuesday evening, September 3rd, 2024, wasn't exactly a quiet night for the Hilltop neighborhood in Columbus. Jolan Rutherford and Andai Sullivan allegedly decided to spice things up with an armed robbery before attempting a grand escape. >> S16 approved. >> Was it a dead end back here? Go, go, go, go. >> He's bailing right now. >> No, he's not. >> Come back to Maine. Come back to Maine. He's going to head back. He's going to come out on Maine over by the towers. Eastbound Maine. We're still southbound Alm Creek. >> We're going to be at Linstead. Lines. Bailing. Bailing. Bailing. Bailing. Rutherford and Sullivan are currently busy trading their street cred for a permanent record in the local jail. They managed to rack up charges for tampering with evidence and failure to comply. It was a truly brilliant strategy. Their evening adventure ended with a very quiet and sober meeting with the booking officer. Downtown Kansas City officers got an unexpected fireworks show on August 8th, 2019. What began as a simple traffic stop turned into a mobile shooting range when three suspects decided to open fire on the police. >> I think they're shooting at me now. YEP. THEY'RE FIRING AT ME. LIMITED MARTIN LUTHER King 66. It's a red start. Drop me a [ __ ] Okay, we're headed on Woodland. Captain 66 on Woodland. I tried three times. TAKE ME SEVEN. HEAVEN. TAKE ME. I'M SORRY. Westbound on Truman approaching Locust. Going through the curb right now. The legal system is now processing the trio for their highstakes gamble with a rifle and a handgun. Prosecutors are making sure this reckless display of marksmanship leads to a very lengthy stay behind bars. The case continues to move through the courts. Fortunately, no one was physically harmed during their desperate attempt to rewrite the law on the fly. Nashville fugitive Cordarius Caldwell turned February 24th, 2016 into a citywide demolition derby through Chattanooga. He ditched a window for a stolen silver Impala and treated rush hour traffic like a personal obstacle course. The 20-year-old was apparently determined to meet his quota for property damage in a single afternoon. 925. I'm I'm on hold here. Everybody know 925 Naple Rick. I'm in the median chat and it was a new Naple Rick at the pass. Uh speed across about 60 mph 22 always traffic 31 right now. Get your hands up. Get out. >> [ __ ] GO. >> I'm going to back up. I'm going back up. >> [screaming] >> Caldwell's destructive tour left 15 civilian vehicles in ruins and a state trooper named Calvin Neipo with minor injuries. The local community spent hours dealing with the traffic nightmare and the metallic confetti he scattered across the interstate. The impact was felt for days. Local residents won't be forgetting this particular rush hour anytime soon. A Glendale police captain spotted a stolen Honda Accord on March 12th, 2024, sparking a high-speed tour of the local streets. A driver named Javier thought 70 mph was the magic number to outrun the law. He even navigated a construction site in a desperate attempt to lose his persistent followers. Continuing northbound 943, 50 mph, light, medium traffic. He's signaling a left lane 02 right behind you. We're approaching Brown speed about 57 65. He's taking off power in pursuit. Negative states. Negative states. Aggregated states. All right. Getting off the ground here. Coming up to medium traffic. Red light. Coming up to the ground here. There's a construction area. Losing it. Losing it. He maintained it. He's corrected. Coming up to heavy traffic at the offer 84. Call this >> all over construction area. Losing it. Losing it. Maintain. >> What the is wrong with you? >> Traffic at the offramp. I don't know if he's going to be able to get out. He's got a flat front tire. We're in the construction zone. There's nobody where we're at. And it looks like he's going to have to drive potentially off a bridge or ledge here. Down a big ledge. He's going to be stuck. >> A flat front tire. We're in the construction zone. There's nobody where we're at. And it looks like he's going to have to drive potentially off a bridge or ledge here. >> STOP RUNNING. GET ON THE GROUND. GET ON THE GROUND. GET ON THE GROUND. >> WE GOT ONE RUNNING TOWARDS THE FREEWAY. DO NOT move towards the freeway. Uh Mike's changing. He's heading back TO THE FREEWAY. RIGHT. GET UP. GROUT. PUT YOUR HAND BEHIND YOUR BACK ON the freeway. You got him. >> Is your problem. >> Javier learned that stealing cars and fleeing officers leads directly to a 5-year prison sentence. He now has plenty of time to reflect on his life choices while completing 50 hours of community service. The lesson here is quite clear. His passenger, Marcus, was lucky enough to walk away from the wreckage without a single charge to his name. October 25th, 2023, proved that some drivers never learn, especially when they're piloting a stolen car at over 100 mph. A teenager named Jeremiah led Hail's Corners officers on a frantic dash that eventually ended in a literal blaze of glory. >> Terminate. Terminate. He's back lane two for 68 Okay. Yeah. yesterday at Oregon. And uh he's going to crash crash crash crash crash. That's 49. Roll over. Diesel on fire. Auto lock. Three occupants running. Multiple buildings. Multiple buildings. Jeremiah's high-speed hobby came with a staggering price tag of $700. $ in fines and $1,600 in restitution. He managed to turn a stolen vehicle into a charred heap of scrap metal that isn't worth a single dime anymore. This was a very expensive way to spend an afternoon. This pricey lesson in physics will follow him through his 2-year stint at a community reintegration center. Wednesday night, November 26th, 2025 saw a silver sedan playing a dangerous game of tag with the California Highway Patrol. A group of passengers decided that red lights were merely decorative as they sped through the San Fernando Valley >> in the air as well. You can see the night sun on the suspect here, wanted again for speed and running red lights. Gil, do we know if this started on the freeway uh or on surface streets where you would find red lights? Yeah, we believe it started on the freeway. CHP tried to pull the vehicle over for uh high speed. When it got on surface streets, it was running red lights. So, that's really kicked up the uh the urgency to get this guy pulled over. But he's been driving like this ever since on surface streets. He really hasn't reentered any of the freeways in the area. Now, here he is. Look at this. They're going to do a pit right there. They they tapped him. He's out of control >> and not enough. And they're going to do it again. There it is. Oh, look at that move. Wow. That That might do it. That's going to do it. Oh, passenger jumping out. >> Two out of the driver's side. We're going to stick with the driver here. >> One, two, three, and two on the other side. >> Passenger tackled there. >> Oh, >> and there goes the driver here. And two right together now. And that guy's going to get tackled. That's the driver that's uh going to go down underneath the tree. Here's a passenger still running down the street. We'll stick with him. They got the driver and two passengers or one passenger in custody. This guy running out of steam here trying to get around that car. He's going to get be taken down by the CHP here in just a second as he goes right around the car and the trash cans. This is it. They're both exhausted it looks like, but >> it looks like the officer is going to take him into custody there under that tree. So, wow. Uh we didn't know that there was that many people in the vehicle, >> but uh uh two pit maneuvers there ending the chase here. This is on uh Garden Grove Avenue off of Dorman. And uh at this point, the driver down here uh the vehicle here looks like it might have tapped a parked car. There's one of the suspects there. And the vehicle, I don't believe that's the driver. That was the uh passenger coming out of the passenger side of the vehicle. And the driver's about mid block somewhere in here that was taken down. So all three it looks like they're all in custody at this point. But uh dangerous pursuit. Thankfully no one was hurt and it sounds like all three are now in custody. >> Are we looking at only three? I thought I saw more than three suspects. So maybe maybe four. I could have sworn I saw five to be honest. It just looked like so many people coming out of that car, but I could be wrong. >> I saw two come out of the driver's side which was interesting. Uh, one I saw come out of the passenger, but there may have been others. Uh, it happened very quickly. They were able to jump out very fast after they made that turn. So, we do see at least three in custody at this point. And I'm hearing the CHB talking about the driver in custody. We have this is one of the passengers here and uh the other one that ran by the the trash cans there in custody. Here they come down uh the street. So, those are the three that we know of that are in custody. Yeah, it looked like >> the silver sedan suffered the most for the driver's sins when it was tactically crushed against the pavement on Garden Grove Avenue. It ended its career as a crumpled hood ornament, likely feeling very betrayed by the people who pushed it to such extremes. The poor car never asked for a life of crime. This once reliable machine is now destined for a scrapyard. The evening of December 4th, 2025 took a tragic turn when a routine traffic stop in Oklahoma City turned into a highstakes flight. A driver decided that fleeing toward Interstate 44 was a risk worth taking. They pushed their vehicle to the limit before losing control on a sharp exit ramp. If you get a moment, turn your pursuit. Looks like I might have for sure. Speeds are slowing down. We're about 70 right now. Still waiting. Hey, you just crashed out 23rd Street. >> Uh 107 23rd Street. Hey, just crashed out 23rd Street. >> Uh, 1070. >> Start fire. Car's on fire. >> Start fire. >> The driver's career as a high-speed fugitive ended permanently, and they certainly won't be looking for any new job opportunities. They unfortunately didn't make it after their vehicle collided with a solid concrete barrier. This was a tragic end to a very poor decision. This permanent conclusion serves as a grim reminder that no traffic ticket is worth a human life. Springfield residents watched a real life action movie unfold on March 1st, 2022 as Johnny Joe Coffer Jr. hijacked a truck. The wanted fugitive even shoved his own cousin out of the vehicle to start his 41minute dash. >> Traffic >> speed westbound line speed. We'll be back northbound Monday. Clear northbound on 101 guys around clear speed 600 primary second There's still clear northbound westbound westbound downfield. direction. We're going to be pulling into Carl's Tuxedo Battlefield. No traffic. >> They're pulling a car off field now. Coming out southbound now. Southbound for south. Broadway. Let's go. Okay. popcorn Johnson. Call Johnson. Atlantic drove through a fence back towards whatever street is back on the east here. Drove through a fence on high concord through an alley. This is television radio northbound on Grandale. Congratulations are in order for Mr. Coffer for successfully trading his freedom for a long list of felony charges. He managed to turn a simple warrant into a spectacular showcase of how to lose everything at once. His performance was truly one for the record books. He is now being celebrated by the local jail staff who will be looking after him for a very long time. Saturday, December 21st, 2024, offered Dennis Davis and his two associates a very dramatic ending to their GameStop shopping trip. They decided that a 95 mph rollover was the best way to handle a theft investigation in West Memphis. Pass the police station. We're going through a try to get big. straight through. There we go. Roll over starting at 106. [screaming] >> Don't rush it. Don't rush it. Show me your hand. Show me your hand. Show me your hand. >> I'm not. Okay. I'll be with you in a minute. >> All right. Use that tree to get up. Hey, man. Hey, >> you grab your leg here, buddy. Listen. Is there any guns in the car? >> No, sir. >> Yes, sir. >> Can they move, >> sir? >> Can they move? >> Yes, sir. Congratulations are in order for Davis and his friends for successfully turning a retail theft into a spectacular automotive gymnastics routine. They managed to lose over $2,000 in merchandise and their dignity in one high-speed move. It was a truly remarkable performance that earned them a standing ovation from the local booking staff. Chico County officers clocked a driver at 114 mph on May 19th, 2022 after they refused to pull over. This wasn't a race for a trophy. It was a desperate attempt to outrun an Arkansas state trooper. The pursuit quickly shifted from a high-speed engine roar to a very undignified foot race. There we go. 216. We got lanes two and three walks. Be careful. Chris, he's got a pistol. >> Show me your hands. >> Put your hands up. Put your hands up. Put youring hands up. The driver's grand escape plan was executed with all the grace of a bowling ball in a china shop. Their decision to flee a simple traffic stop resulted in a flipped car and a very long walk to the police cruiser. The execution left much to be desired. They are now facing the reality that their grand escape was actually just a very fast way to get arrested. July 5th, 2025 began with a blue SUV behaving more like a pinball than a luxury vehicle on Highway 128. Shaun O'Bryant led deputies on a frantic chase that proved his driving skills were as questionable as his life choices. >> 300 miles. We're still inbound. And here boxing in. Little heat. Triple R. Trippers. I got both of them here. I need that starting now. You >> good? >> I'm all right. >> I'm all right. [screaming] I'm good. O'Bryant eventually ended his morning joy ride upside down in a ditch and in the custody of Garland County deputies. He is now facing a laundry list of charges including theft by receiving and reckless driving. His temporary freedom was very short-lived. He will be spending a significant amount of time reflecting on his driving skills from a jail cell. Wednesday night, December 3rd, 2025, featured a gray Honda Accord with a serious identity crisis. A woman decided to test the patience of Los Angeles police by blowing through 25 red lights with plates that didn't match the car. >> Again, it's going to put other drivers at risk. And and you know, you don't ever expect to see something like this, but without the heads up or the lights, the sirens, or the night sun, uh it becomes more dangerous for everyone. It's just the news going out on the scanner of a pursuit. Uh I guess you could call it a service that we provide as a news station. We send out alerts to phones letting people know that there are pursuits. So it the driver in that car could be streaming us right now. You never know. But it also lets people know where the pursuit is and to, you know, I know when I hear about pursuits on the radio or something, I I want to make sure I'm not in that area or if this was happening in my neighborhood, I would want to go and lock my doors if they weren't already, >> right? And you should uh you know, right now we're here at Kester Avenue and Broadmore. Look at the cars partially blacked out here. So it might be looking for a place to bail. Here's a culde-sac. He turned down the wrong street. Oh, he hit some trash cans right there. He hit the trash cans. This might be it for them. Here comes the driver out right now. I don't see anybody else jumping out. They're talking about the suspect running down the street here and underneath a tree. So, okay. They're, if you can see it, it's kind of dark there. Now, walking now. Let's see. He's going to the corner. It might be a female. I'm not sure. They haven't said yet, but red shirt. Let me come in a little tighter. Look at that. looking at a car trying to maybe get into that car. >> You need to spot. >> We do. And here we go. So, here comes the person here. It I'm not sure if you can see. It does look like a female on the phone. It does. Now, she's going to start running here. It does. Okay, good. So, uh we're running here on Caster Avenue. I hear the airship uh directing officers into the uh location here right now, but looks like she's looking into other cars there for an opportunity maybe to get in there, hide or take the car. But looks like she's on a cell phone and slow moving here. I'm going to come out wide. She has a flash maybe on her phone. There's the airship. >> Yeah, they're >> Yeah, possibly. So, we'll see. We should be seeing units coming shortly here. Yeah, I hear him talking about units coming northbound. And there's the nice sunlight on the suspect there. So, they're calling in that there we go. Here's the first officer coming up. And uh she's going to be taken into custody underneath the tree. >> Yep. Just like that. And fortunately, you saw >> the Los Angeles District Attorney is now busy reviewing the woman's decision to blow through dozens of red lights in a stolen vehicle. Prosecutors are preparing formal charges for felony evading and driving without the owner's consent. The legal paperwork is piling up quickly. She will soon have a very formal date with a judge to discuss her late night driving habits. April 2nd, 2024 was a dark day for a 75-year-old man who just wanted to wash his car in Colombia. Ju Lopez decided to escalate a carjacking attempt into a 28-mile chase toward the Jefferson City airport. He pulled me out of my car and had me out here on the ground beating the crap out of me. >> Okay. >> Do you know who this person is? >> No, it was a Hispanic guy. >> Okay. >> And then he got in my car, tried to take my car. I was poking my fingers in his eyes, you know, trying to keep my car. >> Okay. I'm going to let them know. >> I came over and we were >> He beat the crap out of me. >> Who would think that would happen in the middle of the day? And he left his phone, too. >> Okay. >> His phone was in my car when he got out. >> This guy >> I pulled away. >> You did? I did. >> And that's what saved me, I think. >> Okay. >> Were you just here doing business at the car wash? >> Getting ready to watch. >> He opened my door and pulled me out. I was like, "What's going on?" You know, >> he go to me. I was over here. That's my truck. I was over here cleaning my truck up. He yelled at me and I said, "Look, get out of there." And I wasn't sure >> who which car it was. Right. I wasn't sure. Yeah. He had blood coming all the way down his face. >> Okay. >> And have medics cuz that that they need to be looked at. Did >> he get medic? >> How old are you, sir? >> 75y old man. >> So he yelled at me and I went and I said, "Look, get out of there." And I went and I said, "I'm getting my gun." I grabbed my gun out of my truck. I vanished it. I didn't put my finger on the trigger or anything like that. I said, "You need to make the right decision and get out of here." >> Okay. >> He walked over to his car. He took off. I got pictures. [screaming] Susan be going back onto driving in circles in the grass. circles in the ground on southbound. [screaming] [screaming] Come on, Paul. 65. We're slowing down pretty good. He's losing control. He wrecked. T-Rex. >> Uh, well, now he's going down a hill. Going down a hill for >> He's trying to get to this road underneath this uh bridge underneath 63. >> Going back out to the airport overpass. >> All right. Control cart the overpass. Just stay put for a second. He's coming. Uh he's going to go straight across airport road headed on Hiburna towards Equipment. I'm sure you can see what's going on here, but he is the vehicle we're chasing right here coming on to the airport. Make call just let them know that running out of this white car here shortly. Copy. across towards the equipment. >> Okay. He turned on to the airport property here. He's driving through the grass uh eastbound on the airport property. >> Yeah. He drove through the fence. You're going to have damage to the fence. Out on foot wearing a red shirt. Running towards the ramp here. West ramp. You got to go get me 450. >> Okay, he is on the airport ground. Uh, red shirt, red shorts, had a hanger here. He drove through the fence. He's at the north corner of the hangers on the west side of the field. Copy. Is it a hanger to the north corner? The hanger's the west end of the field. Registered short. >> All right. I got units making copy. Making contact here. >> Copy. They're making contact. Not every day security on the field. >> Lopez's violent rampage left a senior citizen injured and the Columbia community in a state of total shock. The multi- agency pursuit caused significant traffic delays and forced several motorists off the road during their daily commute. The impact was felt by hundreds of people. Residents are now resting a bit easier knowing this individual is no longer a threat. Love was definitely not in the air on February 14th, 2023 for one Chrysler driver in a big hurry. They traded a romantic evening for a high-speed pursuit that ended with a very unromantic encounter with a flatbed truck. The suspect apparently thought the laws of the road were purely optional on the most romantic day of the year. 2027 moving up a bit. We got traffic now back up. Show me your hands. Hands. >> Show me your hands. Do it now. Show me your hands. Hands. Driver, come here. Driver, come here. Walk to me. Walk to me. Walk to me. Turn around. Turn around. >> The morale of the story is that you should probably just pull over when you see the flashing lights. Attempting to play a game of tag with the police at high speeds almost always ends in a very expensive wreck. It is a lesson that is best learned the easy way. The suspect now has plenty of time to consider a more lawabiding lifestyle. Waldorf residents woke up to a high-speed tragedy on March 11th, 2022 involving 50-year-old Daryl Bird. After a hit and run, Bird attempted to flee in a pickup truck but couldn't outrun the sirens. He led officers on a chase along St. Charles Parkway that unfortunately ended in a permanent silence. >> 8 North 2624. He's driving away. 73. [screaming] God. Hello. Bird's final decision resulted in a total loss of property and the destruction of a perfectly good pickup truck. The financial cost of his flight is significant, but the true cost is measured in the permanent loss of life. He unfortunately passed away after hitting the trees. This final crash serves as a sobering reminder of the extreme risks associated with high-speed flight. The streets of Los Angeles turned into a scene of devastation. On November 23rd, 2024, thanks to Kevin Laa and a stolen MercedesBenz, after a 2-hour stakeout, Lara decided to treat the city like a personal racetrack at incredibly high speeds. We got back. >> Go. Let him go. Let him go. Let go. Let go. >> 1083. [music] >> What out? Somebody stay with me. 1083. The passenger jumped out a beautiful house. Come out. Let me see your hands. Keep your hands up. >> Come on. Scoot out. >> I got his belt. >> Turn around. >> Turn around. >> You guys are >> the white SUV suffered a violent end for Lara's sins when it overturned and collided with multiple innocent vehicles on Satakoy Street. It ended its journey as a twisted heap of luxury metal, likely feeling very betrayed by the man who pushed it to such a deadly extreme. The machine was never meant for this. This once valuable car is now a charred reminder of a choice that never should have been made. April 26th, 2024 provided another high velocity headline for the Arkansas State Police. A driver in a stolen vehicle thought they could outmaneuver the law at speeds that would terrify a professional racer. They weaved through traffic and crossed medians in a desperate attempt to stay ahead of the patrol units. Roll. Roll over. >> He's on foot. He's on foot. GET ON THEING GROUND. GET ON THE GROUND. GET ON THE GROUND. GET ON THE GROUND. Anybody else IN THE VEHICLE? ANYBODY ELSE IN the vehicle? Crawl to me. Crawl to me. Crawl to me. Crawl to me. >> Somebody else in the vehicle. >> Crawl on over here to me. Get your ass down. Get your ass down. >> Behind you, babe. How many people? >> This driver's audition for a professional getaway driver ended with a spectacular rollover and a very permanent rejection from the local authorities. They managed to trade their dignity for a collection of felony charges that will look absolutely stunning on any future resume. They certainly won't be hired for a driving job. They now have a lot of time to reflect on their poor life choices from the comfort of a prison cell. That is all for this round of bad decisions. Yet, this is merely the opening act of a much larger story. The global supply of human error is seemingly bottomless, and we have a fresh batch of evidence ready for your review. Click on the next video to see the latest achievement in the art of the poor life choice. Thank you for your time and hit subscribe to stay ahead of the curve.
