In today's video, some unexpected marathons broke out. >> You're under arrest. Press that. Come back, ma'am. Stop. Don't run. >> Nothing. What do I have? >> You're in the custody right now? Because you Yes, >> I'm in custody right now. >> All because these shoplifterss refused to pay for the goods they stole. >> Why are they accusing you of shoplifting? Is that Is that true? Did you shoplift? >> I did not shoplift. Get out here. >> I didn't try running officer. I I I didn't try to resist at all. Wait. >> Here are the times when DUMB shoplifterss refused to pay at Walmart. Starting with this mother who pretended to know nothing. >> But was that my intentions? No. Then I said like I'll pay for like I was intending to pay for it. And >> then she had all this under her red purse. On the 29th of April 2024, police were dispatched to a Home Depot after receiving a report that a woman had been detained following an alleged theft there. She wasn't even there alone. And what was revealed afterward would set the stage for a far more complicated case. She came in a whole bunch more. Um, and put up a baby shower, a bunch of lights and [ __ ] [ __ ] and then went out to the plants. Gave her the benefit of the doubt at the plants. You know what I mean? I'm like, "All right, I even stopped her at the door. I got to stop her at the door. All right, I'm going to go out with the plants and then they just put those plants over there on the other side of the the parking lot there." you know, like tonight's looking at there, all right, I'll give you the benefits out again. And then she started making like a live that way. And I was like, I got to sell something. And she was like, oh, well, I'm going to buy a shed today. I was like, okay, so that's interesting. as she went from buying a shed to now fixing a shed door and apparently to the tea the exact measurements of the door frame were on there and I'm just >> and I was like did you buy your shed from Home Depot? She's like no. I said so how's the door going to be the same size as your shed at home? >> So [clears throat] I I just think that to me honestly it's just an excuse um it's 250 so um like to charge over it. Based on the employees account, police could get a sense of the suspect's attitude toward the alleged wrongdoing. And it became clear when the officer approached her as she even seemed to believe she was the victim. >> Okay. Why do we have to now? >> Cuz we're going to charge you. >> You're going to charge me with it? >> Did you get a grand tour of everything? >> You just told me you weren't going to charge me. >> No, I never said no. Absolutely. >> He did. He said all you have to do kicked out of the store. >> No, I said you're going to sign trespass. I never said I was going to charge you. Are you serious? Like I just told you like Dang. Like I just told him that it was not my intention. >> Okay. Where the items are now, >> huh? >> Still right there somewhere. >> Yeah. Yeah. I took it out of there. I don't know her bag or anything like that. >> Okay. >> So, can you can you before we do that, can we make a break to have >> Yeah, I would have did that. My daughter already called. I hope she didn't leave >> cuz he told me that I would only be 10 more minutes to sign a paper and I'm out of here. Now I have dial dialysis and everything else. >> Okay. >> Hey, Mom. >> Miss, can you come get the baby? >> Yeah. What's for you? >> I'm at Home Depot. The guy told me I was signed try I was going to sign papers to kick me out for 3 years and that was it. Be out of here in 10 minutes. But I guess since I said I like I signed the paper, but it says I was knowingly stealing. I wasn't knowingly stealing. Nothing was concealed. Concealed and I was going to get the measurements. >> Were you able to secure a video of her? >> Not anything in the car. Wild shoes, but I mean the selection of the the flowers did select flowers out there. >> Um actually, and then just >> No, six and six. >> Six and six. Well, >> does that how many do you put around your freaking mouth in the front? >> The woman claimed she never intended to take anything for free, but the actions she described afterward raised serious questions about how she viewed them. >> Like, I wasn't stealing. >> Okay. >> Okay. He explained it to me. The way he explained it to me. Yes. You know what I'm saying? I agree with them. >> Okay. You can't put pass point. You're supposed to leave your cart at the register when you go outside to purchase stuff. Okay. Then then then if that's the case then okay I understand what [music] he's saying. >> But was that my intention? No. Then I said like I'll pay for like I was intending to pay for it. I'll show you. I have the money. No. No you can't pay for it. Okay. I'll go back here and somebody called she was going to buy a shed. Come buy a shed. Oh you can afford that? Yes I can. But I wasn't buying the shed. I was buying getting the measurements on a tape measure. I don't have a tape measure because [snorts] the thing on the front of the door has all the measurements, the paper, right? >> So then he's like, "So this paper says, yeah, I was knowingly stealing." No, I wasn't knowingly stealing after he explained it to me. And I agreed with him after he explained it to me, right? Like, okay, I understand now. like and he's like, "Well," and then I said, "Listen, you were in my position." Then he's like, "I'd never be in your position." Okay, cuz you went to the law field, but I didn't. >> Okay? Like I was trying to explain the situation. Like nothing was concealed by that. >> Nothing was concealed. Nothing was concealed. >> Okay. I got the flowers. I looked at the palm trees. I was walking to the shed. He said, "Man," I said, "Yes." He said, "Can you come back here with me? I got the merch paper." I said, "Yes." I was just getting the measurements on the shed. Turned around, went with them, everything. >> Her story kept going in circles, seemingly to blame the employee for unintentionally letting her take the merchandise past the point of sale. But there were a few details she had conveniently left out that the employee now pointed out. >> Flowers, right? And then she had all this under her red purse and the baby. >> So, how did you get that from her? >> How did I get that from her? >> Yeah. >> She turned around, walked back, we talked, >> and at first she tried to say it was just the flowers >> and then I talked about this stuff, too. And that's what she took the purse out. And then >> she willingly took everything out from underneath the baby stroller and all that. >> Did anyone else witness you taking this from her? >> The lady that lady that did Um, I mean, when we got back into the store, her taking out of it was all the money from the candy. Um, I told her like, we talk about it, figure it out. I'm sorry. And I asked my boss what he said no. He said chocolate day. >> Yeah. >> Um he's technically get technical with that under the car last one sale. >> You know what I mean? >> Um and uh you know and then she got back here. She told me, "Yeah, I made a mistake. I know what I did." And then she made it she started arguing. I was like, "Ah, well, they didn't make a mistake." >> Mhm. >> And then she's like, "I don't have Walmart for a thousand years." And she pulled me. I was like, "Okay." I said, "Well, I guess they just haven't caught up with me yet." But I said, "You can't do that here." And I said, and then that's when she was like, "What would you do if you were shooting?" I was like, "Well, I wouldn't be in that situation." >> Back to the suspect, her denials began to hit a dead end when she started revealing that she might not actually be able to pay for the merchandise. Do you is there any way that you show proof that you can pay for it? >> Yes. >> Can I see that? >> Yes. >> Well, we don't have Apple Pay. We don't have any kind of for mobile payment. >> Do you have any cash on you? >> No, I don't have cash. >> Do you know the amount that you were trying to pay? >> 251. 25. >> 252 I think was >> at this point. So, >> listen, she was opening everything. Everything was falling out of the cart. This is what I suggested. Let's just go get another cart. >> Mhm. >> Everything you had in there right here. That's why I didn't use this. >> I just use this >> because I wanted it to be on camera taking everything out, >> right? >> But I mean, oh, you know what? Here we go. This is your granddaughter? >> No. >> This is your daughter. >> My daughter. Oh, >> what's her name? >> She's with you while we're investigating. >> Can you spell her name for us? >> Okay. >> You want to say $400 in in an account? >> She only proved that she had money without ever saying how she would pay for it. At this point, even though she still refused to admit the truth, police had made their decision. >> How am I being charged when nothing was concealed? That's what I don't understand. I wasn't shopping. >> So, we can get this going. >> I know. I'm just We can get this going. Okay. >> Back. Yeah. Yeah. I guess I got right >> now. Put your arm around here. Put your arms to someone. >> Yes. There you go. >> There's no pressure. First thing we have an officer back. You want to grab these things real quick? >> Yeah, I got Is that her belongings there? >> Yeah, these are hers. Okay. In the end, the woman was charged with shoplifting. [music] Under New Jersey statute NJS2C 2021, [music] anyone convicted of shoplifting could face penalties ranging from a disorderly person's offense for thefts under $200 to a secondderee crime for thefts of $75,000 or more. [snorts] Denying an alleged theft does not erase the evidence or the circumstances surrounding the incident. When your actions contradict your explanation, refusing to acknowledge what happened can make an already difficult situation even harder. Next, this mother was no better either. >> What do you have? >> What's your first name? >> What do you have? >> You have to give me your first name. >> What do you have? >> And pick up your daughter. Okay. From here. All right. So, in the time being, we're going to have your daughter. On the 9th of September 2025, officers approached a U-Haul after pulling it over because they suspected it was connected to a theft at Walmart. But things quickly took a worse turn when the female passenger provided false information about her identity. Okay, do me a favor. Can I get both her IDs, both seat belts on you driving? Uh, do you have a seat for her or no? Before we leave, I'll just have to have you get out, make sure the seats go cuz I can't see anything from my >> Do you have your ID, ma'am? >> No. >> No. Okay, go ahead. >> Please verify that I last name comments. Charlie, Oscar, Lima, Lima, Ida, Sam. First name Deja, Delta, Echo, Julia, Alpha, TB, J. >> All right, Deja. So, you have a problem. I believe this is not your name. I believe you. So either A I give you a correct name or B if either we'll stay in Station Collins or if not I'm going to take you detain you the PDF your fingerprints and I'll find out who you are. You've already obstructed. Do you have anything with your name then? >> No. Do >> you have no credit cards? >> You have no credit cards? >> No. >> Let you know what's going to happen then. >> Your seat belts are not. >> It was. >> No, it wasn't. It's literally buckled behind you. I don't appreciate mine. So, so your your final offer, your name is DJ Call. >> Yes. >> Okay. So, right now you'll be detained. >> You open the door for me. >> So, I have to go to >> Open the door now. >> I have to go to the station. >> I'm on the station. Open the door. >> I'm trying to figure out why. >> You ask question [music] right now for lying your name. >> So, open the door. >> Open the door. >> He's telling [music] me she afraid this is my name. So, I don't understand. >> Open the door. >> I don't understand what you're doing. >> I'm going to ask I'm asking her to open the door. >> What you telling me to get a a sea? You going to open the door or not? Obstruction. Correct. >> Obstruction because of what you think. >> No, you have a purse. Allegedly, nothing's in there with your name on it with the name of Deja Collins. >> The vehicle seemed to become the woman's fortress of defense, but the officer's persistence soon forced her to step outside. >> Now you're under arrest. >> Why are you touching me? >> I'm not. But I'm not doing anything. >> What is the problem? >> Not do that. >> I'm getting my vape. I'll put everybody in the pocket. >> Who am I? >> Stop. >> Oh, no. I'm just trying to figure out who >> am I? >> Why are you lying? >> Who am I? >> I don't understand. >> I mean, why am I doing like What is all of this about? >> I believe you're lying about who you are and there's no proof of who you are. There's no record about who you are. >> There's no record. My name is Dave. >> I'm not going to miss you. Check your pockets. Okay. >> Give me a second. >> Okay. >> All right. All right. So, before we leave today, we figure out how you get her home. I got to make a call. All right. Let me get a couple. >> So, what's going on? >> She's detained. >> You try one more time. >> For what? >> What's your first name? >> You know, Do you really want to catch another charge? >> I really don't, but I mean, >> so your first So, you're >> What is all this for? >> Come on. Come on. >> What is all of this for? >> You're here already. All right. >> All right. >> So, what's your first name? >> What do you have? >> What's your first name? >> What do you have? >> You have to give me your first name. >> What do you have? You really want to catch another chart? >> YOU KNEW YOU WEREN'T GOING TO GIVE IT to me. So, if that's what you feel, you're going to do your what you're going to do. >> What? What am I doing wrong? >> What's What's your first thing? >> What do you have? >> She really wants >> There was good reason for the woman to confidently talk back to the officer. After the U-Haul's plate was checked, it was found to be linked to alleged retail thefts in three other towns, [music] which could explain why she showed no sign of guilt at this point. >> I don't know. Y'all going to take me to the station regardless. So do what you got to do and just get into my place. We at time to return a microwave and we're getting pulled over. >> Why are they so worried about the microwave they just tried to return? We didn't even know about that. >> No, we're not worried about it. We're just telling y'all what's going on. >> So why you know you're in DuPage, right? >> Am I? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Hey, so why do you want to catch a charge in DuPage? >> I don't I didn't even know I was IN NEW PAGE. >> SO WHAT'S your first name so you don't catch a charge in DuPage? I think that's fair, right? >> That that seems reasonable. So, you just told me you're going to charge me for a misdemeanor for not having a seat belt with a high rate. But like, that's crazy. >> I mean, really, if I want to be difficult, I could charge you with a battery on a police officer cuz you whack. >> I didn't never touch you. >> She whacked out of my hand, >> bro. >> You being petty, though. >> But you being petty. No, you being petty. You know, I didn't touch. >> All right. I'll tell you, mother. You just that. That's what it is. No, >> but I want to go home with my family. >> All right, so make it easy. What's your name? >> I don't understand why I have to go through all of this. >> So, what's your name then? >> Victory. >> Thank you. >> There we are. >> You got a couple more. >> I knew that. You can't tell me that I lied about I didn't have the information correct, but you could have waited to let me get this handled. Bro, >> you could have not swatted my hand. >> I never touched you. >> I think my body cam would show differently. >> Well, let's see. >> Back to the man. He wasn't going to get away from the police so easily, either as officers eventually took him into custody. Retail. >> Whatever she told you. So where am I? >> So where's the retail theft? Out of >> Z Park. >> Out of who? >> Z Park. >> So what did I just steal? >> It's not mistaken. All empty boxes. >> Brought boxes in. Put them on the shelves. Grab the microwaves. Plug the microwaves. >> So they tell me I can walk to the third. So, what about uh >> Sit down? Ask a question. You sit down. What's up? What? My wallet is wallet. Where's your wallet at? What do you need out of the car right now? Here, pick. What do you need out of the car? My wallet. Cuz where I'm going to go right now, whatever. Uh, it depends on your record. If you don't have a record, you'll be out in half hour. If you got a record, might be walking back. I mean, I got a record. Look, I need some items out of there. >> What do you need? >> My book bag for sure. My book bag. Where's your book bag at? >> It's in the front. Is it? Look, it's in the daycare for sure. Like, it ain't in the back. It's in the front. It's a black book bag. So, I need my book bag. >> All right. So, we're going to get your wallet, backpack, and her purse. Worst case scenario, I'll give the CSO that is going to hang out with your daughter. I'll give her the phone that I got so that at least she's got that number in there and all that. All right, man. Good luck. Okay, >> watch your knee. Then the officer's search for the hidden treasures began. >> What' you say? >> You got his book bag or no? >> His? No, I got her purse and then two of her phones. >> You said no thing. >> I didn't see one. No. >> You uh so I'll search the back. Make sure there's no products or anything. >> Okay. >> You can put them in the back seat >> in all in your car. >> Uh front seat. Yeah, >> front seat. Okay. Let's see. Are these for them? >> Possibly. It's from Walmart or is it unless they have a box right now? >> Okay. >> Yes, that's impossible. I'm already >> Oh, sorry. this up real quick. >> This looks just like it's just a diaper bag. Do you want me to have no products and no weapons? Yeah. >> Okay. From the bag the officer found, this became an alarm for police to shift their attention as the woman's family members had unintentionally been pulled into the situation. But it seemed the mother showed little concern about that. >> Happening that you're going to go to parking your daughter to go to the park. Your uh boyfriend, I don't know what he is to. He's calling someone to pick her up in case you guys are there on the law. >> Okay. I know. I'm going I'm trying to figure out why is he getting in custody because I thought the baby was >> He could tell you if he watched just his business show >> but he won't be able to tell me if I'm in custody. >> You're going to the same place. >> How he going to tell me? I'm able to talk. >> We're going to the same place. I'm not saying to talk. We're going to the same place. >> That's my baby daddy. That's his dad. I mean that's his dad. >> Okay. >> But someone is coming. >> He has I don't know who it is. He's he's literally on the phone with him again right now. >> Originally they were going to come here but now we're having to go to the PD cuz we know I don't want your daughter for the next 20 minutes. >> Yeah. So, I'm worried about that, but I don't know. You can you tell dad if it's okay? I'm pretty sure it's okay. I just want to know what's happening >> so I can know what's going on. >> Talk to her. >> Yeah, go for it. >> Hey, ma'am. >> Yes. >> Okay. Antette, you know her? >> Yes. >> She's going to come here. >> Okay. >> And pick up your daughter. Okay. From here. All right. So, in the time being, we're going to have your daughter sit with our lovely officer, uh, Giana. >> Hi. >> Okay. >> So, that way she's safe out of the car cuz we have to do some things with the vehicle right now. Um, are you good with that? We're not coming to pick her up. >> Yeah. So, I'm trying to figure out where will my items go. I know your customs. >> Yeah, we can grab your purse. No problem. Okay. We'll get your purse. >> But I don't want y'all going through my stuff. Ain't nothing >> here. >> Y. We'll leave it in the car. >> Well, we're searching in the car. >> Oh, that's cool. >> What do you mean? >> Just my money. >> My money. >> Where's your money? >> In my purse. >> I'll grab your purse. >> Okay. >> What else? Cell phone. >> Cell phone is in there also. I don't know if he has got my >> All you need right now is your purse and cell phone. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> I ask him the same thing. >> Can you ask the right side? I believe there's a phone on the ledge that's hers and the purse. >> What's up? >> Can you ask him if it's okay so I can almost >> In the end, Antonio Collins was charged with retail theft, failure to signal, not wearing a seat belt, a child restraint violation, and transporting open alcohol as a driver. [music] Victory Swanigan was charged with retail theft, obstruction of identification, and not wearing a passenger seat belt. while she was also taken to jail on two no bond warrants from Cook County and Kendall County. When a traffic stop uncovers a larger investigation, arguing, giving false information, or refusing to cooperate can quickly turn a simple encounter into additional charges. Staying truthful and cooperative may not erase the original allegations, but it can prevent the situation from becoming even more complicated. Next, this woman would face the consequences of her foolish actions. Stop. You're not afraid to go. Stop. I don't have >> I really did it to get answers. I'm really rich, you guys. I'm rich and I just This is the only way to do it. >> On the 7th of June, 2025, officers received a report from a Burlington retail store about a theft that had just occurred. The suspect was reportedly seen leaving with more than $500 worth of merchandise. But when officers found her, the theft quickly turned into a pursuit. My book released an arrow. >> Hey, stop. You're being You're being detained. You're under arrest for assess. >> Come back, ma'am. Stop. Don't run. >> Nothing. What do I have? I have nothing. I don't have nothing. >> Stop. Stop. >> I don't have anything. I have nothing. >> Stop. You're not afraid to go. Stop. >> I don't have I don't have nothing. >> Okay. >> I don't have nothing. What? >> Stop. What? >> You're under arrest now for resisting. >> No, I didn't resist. >> I don't care. >> You're lying. >> You ran away from us. >> Oh, no. Cuz I I wanted to see if we got a break. Yeah, you're using excessive force. We're >> not. >> I'm already hurt. Look at the glasses. Wait. Okay. >> With that outfit and a heavy necklace, she was hardly dressed to escape. But what she said after being restrained was even more unbelievable as she started playing the victim. >> I'm not playing this game. >> Hey, can you please explain what books they're released in Aram? And I don't resist. I'm not fighting. You won't ever win. So, let me go. Am I resisting? >> You ran. You ran from us. You ran all the way. >> Look, I just wanted to see if you guys are in good shape. >> Amen. >> I bet I'll beat you in the >> You're not going to outrun us. >> I promise you I would. >> You want to put on your sleeper? >> Oh, I didn't even try. >> Okay. Look, you got to hurt me. I'm really bruised. >> No, you are under arrest for theft. >> I didn't feel nothing. I don't have anything. >> Cooperate. >> NO. What did I feel? I don't have anything on me. What the are you talking about? >> What do I have? We'll check the video. That's fine. >> I didn't. >> Okay. So, look. Can you answer what books are released and error is? >> Books means you go to jail, >> right? And and books or release and error. >> I don't know. >> Well, it's your system. Please look it up. Books are released and error. And you're heard me. You got somebody to hit me. What is book or release and error? Police. Police. What is book release and error? You guys speak English? >> Yeah. I'm ignoring you. Why are you ignoring me? What is the hood? Scream. >> Okay. Okay. What about you? >> No, I'm not going in the car cuz I didn't do anything wrong. You guys can't do that. >> You guys can't put me on that. >> I'm detained, right? >> Yeah. You under No. For what? >> Go to the car. >> For what? No. What did I do? I didn't. No, I didn't. >> She still had no intention of cooperating. And when officers tried to put her in the car, her attitude escalated in a completely different direction. >> Okay. No. Why? Why you guys You can't do that. >> You can't do that. >> You can't do that. You can't do that. >> You cannot Why am I being Why am I being No, look. I'm hella bruised. Look at my knee. You guys keep If you No, you got >> I don't see anything. >> You don't see anything? You're a liar. >> You're on the ground. Stop hurting yourself. >> No, you're hurting me. You No, I don't need help. I don't need help. >> Okay, then stand up. >> Hey, I'm the queen of the law cartel. Do your job right. >> You guys can't do this. You guys cannot do this. You guys can't do this. Do you have anything under your dress? >> No. I don't You guys can't do this. Why are you guys breaking the law? Why are you not You guys are You are Oh, [screaming] no. No. I refuse to go in there. >> No. I'm going to put YOU IN A WRAP COOPERATE. >> FOR WHAT? >> Because you're not helping. >> You know, I didn't do anything. >> I didn't do anything. I didn't do it. WHAT DID I >> WHAT DID I STEAL? You got What did I steal? >> What rap? WHY ARE YOU RAPPING ME? RIGHT HERE. >> I don't trust you guys. I don't care. Sit. Okay. >> I didn't do nothing. I don't have anything on me. >> So why are YOU GUYS ARRESTING ME? >> I ALREADY TOLD YOU. >> WHAT? >> Stealing and running from my >> I didn't steal. I don't have nothing on me. >> Then why don't you stop? >> What? Why? Because you guys were chasing me and I'm traumatized. You ran first. We weren't chasing you. >> Yeah, I'm traumatized. I answered your question and I don't have on me. So you guys cannot arrest me. >> Despite her actions, she showed no remorse. Then she gave an excuse for running that officers quickly rejected. See >> you on camera walking out of that store without paper stuff. You're under arrest. >> You know why I'm doing it? Cuz I want you guys to explain what buck or release an error means. That's why I did it. Cuz every time I ask, no answers. >> We'll talk once you get in. Go to jail. Okay. Duh. Like really though, >> but I I really did it to get answers. I'm really rich, you guys. I'm rich. Okay. But I I just this is the only way to do it cuz I've been I've been track down police town police and they run from me. >> Have seat in the car. That's way more comfortable. >> No, I I don't want to go in the car. I don't I'm I'm paranoid. I'll sit here. I will sit right here. >> I can work with you. >> I'll work with you and I'll sit right here. >> Go grab your stuff. >> No, that's not my stuff. I don't trust you guys. I didn't do anything wrong. And no, cuz then you guys are going to roll me. No, I don't trust you guys. Sorry. We'll answer YOUR QUESTIONS ONCE YOU'RE >> NO, YOU WANT the country. >> Okay, we'll get the medics here, please. I'm That's why I did what I did cuz I want to know what Butcher released in Araine and I've been trying to track Seattle police down and they run away from me. >> I want to investigate that call the medics. Thank you. >> Yes, I want the medics. >> Okay, I'm calling the >> and I just I need you guys to investigate that for me, please, because I have three charges that say booked a release in error and I don't know what that means. While playing the victim, the woman unintentionally revealed her condition and one unexpected confession made the situation even more serious. >> To a mental institution, do you know? >> Because I was going to Oh, cuz I was going to Pierce County. They skipped back like this. I got a back spinal disc injury. So, this hurts a lot. Ma'am, >> do you take medication? >> I take methamphetamine, too. >> Okay. Well, thanks for being honest. >> Yes, I do. >> You take any today? >> Not today. Okay. Yesterday. Yeah, ma'am. How about now? Can I help you to get out? Do you have a seat in the car? >> You were just positively identified for stealing. Okay. So, you are under arrest for theft. You're going to be under arrest for resisting since you ran from us, but we're going to wait for the medics to come check you out. Make sure you're all good to go. >> I just have to advise your rights. Okay. Standard procedure. So, you have the right to remain silent. Do you understand each of these rights? I have explained to you. >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. >> As well as some drugs. I thought you said you didn't take anything today. >> Are you feeling effects of these drugs right now? >> Actually kind of boring. >> All right, let me help you get up. Okay, on three. Ready? >> Just be careful cuz I got mic. >> Sure. Okay, 1 2 3. >> Here we go. >> All right, have a seat. It's easier if you back into it. Okay, >> let me turn up the AC for you. Okay. Okay, I'm just going to bring the stuff and get a receipt. >> Just when officers thought they had recovered all the stolen goods, another argument broke out because the suspect was still carrying stolen items. >> You said I got a receipt. >> I need to take those. >> No, they're mine. >> They're not yours. >> They are. >> You have a receipt for boxers, not for slippers. >> No. Okay, take them. >> They're not theirs. >> I have to take them. >> They're mine. >> I have to take them. >> Why are you stealing from me? >> These are Please steal them from store, man. >> How do you know? >> They're brand new. >> No, they're not. They got dirt in them. >> Do they have a tag? >> From Burlington. >> I see from Burlington. >> Is that Burlington tag? >> No, it's not. You guys are liars. >> I don't know. >> You guys are liars. >> That's old. Okay. >> Yeah. How? >> They're old slippers. What color did she >> I don't know. She said she told me that the slipper she had on. Let's close this real quick. >> You got the lockers. >> So I don't know. I mean >> you got her shoes. Huh? How about this? You take a photo confirm with Paula. If it's I'll bring it back. If not, I'll just >> That's a liar. >> And then she's working on a statement right now. Okay. What the honest one? >> In the end, Padilla was charged with theft in the third degree and resisting arrest after allegedly taking 36 items worth more than $622 and running from officers. Denying theft does not erase the evidence, especially when your actions create additional charges. Running from officers and refusing to cooperate can turn a shoplifting case into a much more serious situation. Next, the suspects made a series of bad choices that only made the situation worse. >> I got some bad news. >> I would have tried to run. >> You both you when I grabbed the turn around, ran and you saw him. >> On the 3rd of June, 2021, officers approached two women at a liquor store after receiving a report that one of them had used a fraudulent credit card. But things did not go smoothly when she suddenly made an unexpected move. >> I got some bad Hey, get it. Get it. Get it. Get it. Get it. Got it. Got it. Get on the ground. GET ON THE GROUND. >> GET ON THE GROUND. GIVE ME YOUR HANDS. >> GIVE ME YOUR HANDS. >> GIVE ME YOUR OTHER HAND. >> YOU GOOD? YOU GOOD? YOU GOOD? B, YOU GOOD? >> I'M NOT TRYING to move. >> Get on the ground. You're going to get You're GOING TO GET TAGS. GET ON THE GROUND. >> BUT IT'S MY DOG. I'M NOT I >> DON'T CARE WHAT YOU HAVE. >> I HAVEN'T RESISTED AT ALL. >> I haven't resisted at all. >> Can I get my shoe? >> And wait, WHY AM I BEING >> HEY, PUT YOUR HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> WAIT, WHY AM I BEING ARRESTED? I have my ID in the car. >> God damn. >> What did I do? >> Punch me in my That's not my name. I'm not I swear to God. >> Hold up. Why am I being arrested? >> Can I get my phone? >> You're being detained right now. >> MY WALLET IS NOT ON MY PHONE. It's right there. >> We're working our way up. >> Why are you trying to >> detain? We're working our way up. >> Why? I'm not. Why? >> Why are you trying to Why you trying to run? >> I'm not. >> Okay. >> It was hard to understand how quickly the woman denied trying to run, seemingly showing no shame as she continued making the same denial even after they were outside the store. Don't try to run from the stop room. Stop. Tighten up. >> I'm not. >> Yeah, you are. You tried running. >> I'm not I'm not a idiot. >> You I'm not resisting. >> Here. Hold on. [ __ ] heavy. >> Yeah. >> Um they're running it now. They're running them now. >> You have anything on you that's going to poke your stick? >> I I just cut you both. currently on. >> So, what's your name? >> What's your name? >> What's your name? >> Do you want to just keep adding to the charges? >> What's your name? >> Look, look this way. >> Give me your name. >> If you grab my phone, I I can pull it all up. I mean, you can see on all my >> Idiot. Why did you guys try to run? >> I didn't try running, officer. I I I'm didn't try to resist at all. Hey, wait. >> What seemed to be just a credit card fraud case took a more serious turn when officers discovered the woman had a troubling history. >> False name. False name. She has like five warrants. >> We'll take this. >> Punch. We got this one. Yeah, >> she'll throw everything in her her purse. >> Just take just take everything off of her and put it in We'll put it in her purse for now. >> We are good. >> We got this. I got I have We have this one. >> Yes. >> I'm going to tell her I'm going to tell her. They can confirm the warrant. >> Yep. They already Yeah, I already told them that. >> We're taking this one. >> Yeah, we're taking this. Is this all her [ __ ] >> This is hers. I'm getting the clerk to find out who's this >> who? >> Yeah. >> Yep. Yep. >> Number 203. >> Well, when we put her in the when we put her in the cell, we'll go through a good thorough search of all. All this is hers. This is hers, too. Cuz >> I'm finding out whose this is. The clerk's watching the camera to see who had this. >> Okay. >> Do you remember who was holding this? >> No, I just >> cuz it was just on the ground when I picked this up. >> I just I [ __ ] had her and it caused the whole >> I'm just making sure there's nothing crazy in here and then we'll think we got the easier one. Hey dog. To determine exactly who the evidence belonged to, officers went back to the store's camera footage and trace their movements, eventually confirming that the woman had dropped the purse while trying to run away. >> No video. >> No, I'm looking to see who had the blue purse. >> Uh, what were >> uh um fraud credit card stuff? Yeah. >> Sweet. No, she uh she tried to run that way. So, I ran this way and then that one already had her. >> Yeah. >> And then the other one went >> towards the back. >> I saw saw you. She took off. >> Yeah, she dropped the purse. >> Oh, let's see. Oh, okay. >> It looks like her. >> Those are too. >> Yellow. Yellow's got the blue purse. Okay. >> Okay. Good to go. Thank you. >> Appreciate it, guys. Oh yeah. >> Is that coke and [ __ ] or is that all in? >> All right. So this is all here. This is all you >> This is all she's got. We're going to charge her for every bundle of >> Mhm. Oh, mama. >> Yep. All right. and a do >> finding Dory. Going to have everything under the sun over here. I'm >> sure you got a whole bunch of narcotics, >> multiple IDs. >> Have um >> back to the blue-haired suspect. She kept trying to negotiate with the officers from asking to smoke a cigarette to giving bizarre explanations in an attempt to make the situation work in her favor. >> No, it's my decision. No, >> I've been very cooperative. >> I don't care what you've been. You're under arrest. >> I know, but you know I'm going to be gone for a while. >> What? >> You know I'm going be gone for a while. >> Yeah. Consider me helping you. >> No. >> That way you don't acquire cancer. >> Listen, like I'm I'm I'm trying to like take care of my >> I feel like I'm saving your life over here. >> You don't like I'm doing a a real service for the community. >> I'm not a bad person. >> No, I mean like I don't want you to get cancer. That's why I don't want you to have a cigarette. >> Excuse me. >> Really? You got to do it to me? What? >> Please. >> No. >> Did you guys take off? >> No. I was just trying to think about um >> In the end, the woman was charged with credit card fraud and theft. Denying what officers can already verify rarely makes the situation better. Once the evidence starts adding up, continued resistance and excuses can only make the consequences worse. Strangely, this shoplifter returned to the store and waited for police from 5:00 a.m. >> Yeah, we ain't gonna have time to smoke that, so we can put that out. >> Somebody came in. They're like, "Hey, this chick's been in the car since 5:00 this morning." We're like, "What?" And um we pulled it up. On the 23rd of February, 2023, officers were dispatched to the Walmart parking lot after receiving a report that a woman who had previously stolen from the store had returned. Police even had evidence to back up the previous theft, but the woman didn't seem worried at all. >> We're just not taking the call. I don't have any details. >> Yeah, we ain't going to have time to smoke that, so we can put that out. >> 57y old male caller calls in. She believes her husband. Yeah, I just put it right there. >> As further as I have it. >> All you need is your ID. >> I don't have my driver's license with me. Um, I need a card or something. I need a phone. >> Bank card. Just take your little wallet right there. >> Some phone numbers though. I was trying to find that. That's what I was trying to >> All right. Come on. Step out the car for me. 89 Rose. >> Okay. >> I think so. that. >> Yeah, I got you. >> All right, put your hands back here. >> 35. Are you still going to continue? 23 95 one time. >> She [snorts] was easily taken into custody, seemingly accepting her actions, but the mystery remained as she became evasive about letting officers search her car on that one. She's got >> Where's the key at? So I can lock this door. >> Um >> you you can just hit the lock button. >> 911. >> It's it's it's fine. >> Okay. 298 and 22 that they just arrived. My wife's trying to get him off the bed, but she's unable to. >> All right. Is the key in there? Because it won't lock cuz that key is in there somewhere. >> I don't know. I'll have to look. I don't know. I'll have to look for it. I'm not sure. >> All right. I can go look for it real quick. Well, I can't take those off for you to go look. So, that's why I'm asking where's the key at. >> I mean, I can just I don't know. I don't know where it is. >> Unable to find the key, the officer continued checking other items and uncovered another issue in the woman's ID wallet. >> I'll be 1091 for the PD. Beginning mileage is 430. Got a whole bunch of different IDs. >> All right. Whose phone is this? >> I don't I don't know. >> It doesn't work. >> All right. Whose car? >> That is my car. I bought it. >> Okay. >> I bought it. You got like I'm not looking for I'm looking for the key. But I came across four different IDs in that car. >> Yeah. I don't know. >> Three black females. Another white female. >> Yeah. My friend left this up to me. So, but um >> So, where you got to give me a better idea where that key is. You got a lot of stuff in that car. Everything in the woman's car pointed to a life of crime, and an employee even confirmed she had arrived at 5:00 a.m. when the store was quiet to carry it out. >> What's going on? >> Indeed, >> I guess. Go back and pull that video. See if anybody got out. Um, Kimberly Tidmore. >> You can just >> I'll send it to you. >> Perfect. >> Cuz it's kind of strange. She come back up unless you're just feeling lucky and was going to try it again. >> Yeah, it is weird. >> And uh Leslie took her phone yesterday cuz she left it in the laundry basket. So y'all have >> So we do have her phone. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. She said that's why she came back up here to get her phone. >> Oh, okay. She the somebody came in. They're like, "Hey, this chick's been in the car since 5:00 this morning." And we're like, "What?" And um we pulled it up and >> I'll tell you [laughter] M >> T I D M O R E. >> Oops. Whoops. Thank you so much. >> All right. We'll see y'all later. >> Enjoy your coffee. >> In the end, [music] the woman was charged with theft under Florida statute section 812.014. If convicted, she could face penalties ranging from a misdemeanor to a [music] felony, depending on the value of the stolen property. Returning to the same store after a previous theft can quickly put you back under police scrutiny. When the evidence is already there, avoiding questions or acting suspiciously can only make the situation worse. In the next case, this man seemed determined to pick up as many charges as possible. >> Is she in the custody right now? Because you're Yes, >> I'm in custody right now. Detained. What's up? Huh? Smash me then. Smash me then. >> On the 2nd of May 2025, police were called to Walmart after receiving a report about Benjamin, a man who had previously been banned from the store and also had three outstanding warrants. But when officers approached him, he immediately began trying to avoid them. >> Hey man, what's going on? Um, do you know you trespass on this property? >> Say what? Do you trespass from this property last year? >> Uh, I'm buying I'm buying things. >> You trespass. That means you're not allowed in this property. >> I didn't know that. >> You trespass from last year in October, September. >> Okay. So, like >> means means you can't be here. >> Okay. Can I just leave? >> Let's walk out. Yeah. You got to come. >> Yeah. Uh, >> I got to come with you. >> Yes. >> Really? >> Mhm. >> Really? You don't me like that? >> This is not me, man. >> I'm literally buying stuff. I completely understand that >> I did. Look, >> we just >> Can I pay? Can I pay or not? >> No, just leave it right now. >> So, here's the thing. We just don't decided >> leave then. I mean, like like like >> No, you had to come with us. So, here's the thing. >> I got to come with you. >> Yes. So, here's the thing. >> Really? >> We don't decided to just come here and just bother you. We got to call. That's why we here. >> Who? Who called you? >> Okay. So, >> no. Come on, man. Like like like literally like like that's first of all that's profiling. It's not profiling. Profiling. Yes it is profiling. How do you know my name is Ben? My name is not Ben. >> You're a fan from the store. >> Is my name Ben? >> Know who you are. >> No you don't know who I am. >> Start walking out. Okay. >> So So then I don't need you guys with me. >> No. >> No. But you had to come with us. You had to go with us. >> You're in the custody right now because you Yes, >> I'm in custody right now. Unexpectedly, [snorts] after asking to confirm that he was being taken into custody, the man calmly turned around, quickly sparking a surprising chase. He quickly cut through the aisles toward the nearest exit, showing how familiar he was with the store, but officers caught him in time. Dude, you >> stay right there. >> Trying to get in the driveway. >> You're trying to kidnap me. >> Put your hand behind your back. Put your hand behind your back. >> Roll over. On your stomach. >> On your stomach. >> I'M TRYING. >> I can't breathe, dude. I can't breathe. >> I can't breathe. >> Give me other >> Give me your other hand, dude. Stand back. Stand back. >> Well, I'd like to know what's going on. >> I can't breathe. >> I can't breathe. >> You're screaming just fine. >> What's going on here? >> I CAN'T BREATHE. >> DETAIN HIM. >> One more unit. >> Can't take my money. >> I can take money for I'll take it. >> Just step back. >> Step back. >> What's going on? >> Step back. I will tell you. >> Step back. Bus break my wrist, dude. >> Dude, you dude, >> GET OFF OF MY BACK. I CAN'T BREATHE. >> YEAH, YOU CAN'T. >> YOU'RE SCREAMING, DUDE. >> YOU'RE SCREAMING AT ME. YES, you are. >> I can't breathe. >> You're screaming. That means you are. Dude, he's trespassing the store. He's got two warrants. That's why he's under arrest. >> Should we congratulate him on picking up more charges beyond the warrants he already had? Apparently, he was still trying to add more by provoking the officers. >> Leave it there. Let go of it. LEAVE IT THERE. LET GO OF IT. >> Give it to my my >> Let go of it. >> Let go of my money. Let go your money. We will give it to him. Hey, they're going to smash my head if I will give him money. Robbery mother >> here. I can take I can take his money. >> Just step back. Step back. I don't know how many TIMES I GOT TO TELL YOU. Step back. >> Hold down. >> You guys like this? >> Is this kinky for you guys? Do my You going to break my leg? You break my leg. Come on. Stand up. Break my leg. Stand up. >> SET UP. >> COME ON. What's up? Huh? What's up? Huh? Smash me then. Smash me then. What's up? Huh? What's up, man? >> Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Play with me. >> Hold on. Hold on. >> What's up? >> Hey, >> what's up, mother? >> You, dude. Smash me on the car, man. Come on. Let's go. Come on. >> Let's go, bro. Stop moving, >> bro. You too. I'm chasing you down. You do the same thing. Mother, >> get the on my arm. [screaming] >> Relax. Okay. >> HEY, TELL HIM LET GO [screaming] OF MY ARM. TELL HIM LET GO MY ARM. >> Just relax. >> Tell him TO LET GO OF MY ARM. Don't touch me. F. You want, bro? In the end, Benjamin was charged with resisting or obstructing a peace officer causing injury and criminal trespass to real property after receiving notice while also being held on three outstanding warrants. Running from officers and provoking them can quickly turn a simple trespassing case into much more serious charges. One bad decision can add consequences to problems that were already waiting for you. What's the deal with this? >> Why are you Why are you doing this? >> Training, >> huh? Training. >> On the 30th of March, 2026, police approached a petty thief in an airport restroom where they caught him trying to remove items from his bag. Suspecting that he was attempting to destroy evidence, they quickly intervened to stop him. Come here. What's up? >> Why are you stealing stuff? >> Lucky behind your back. >> No, I'm not going for I got flight books. I'm not stealing your back. >> You can check everything. Don't steal. >> No, you're not stealing this [ __ ] Behind your back. >> I'm I'm I'm going to call Morgan and Margan. >> Got one thing in the bathroom. >> Yo. Yo, someone should be Look at this. The >> [screaming] >> Get him. >> No one resisting. with you. I >> don't hear me. >> We're all right. Put your hands behind your back. Hands behind your back. >> Why you Why are you choking me? WHY YOU SO CHOKING? Bruce bastards. >> Hands behind your back. >> Put your hands behind your back. He deliberately screamed loudly as if trying to make himself look like the victim for people outside to hear. He clearly knew what he was doing as he remained completely calm afterward and talked back to the officers. >> You ready to get up? >> Yeah. >> Let's go home. >> Why are you doing this, bro? >> Doing what? cuz I'm ow. >> All right, stand up for me. >> You right. >> No, he's twisted me out. >> Ready? One, two, three. >> You can check anything. >> All right, lean up right here. Lean them against this wall. All right. You were being detained, but now you're under arrest. You good? >> Yeah. Why? Why you exhausted? >> I'm fine. >> Take a deep breath. >> Yeah, for him, not me. >> Why are you Why are you doing this? >> Training, >> huh? >> Training. >> Training for what? >> Confidential. >> Please maintain conform. At this point, the officer escorted him away, but he made things difficult by suddenly acting concerned about his belongings. Something he clearly did not show when he was taking other people's property. >> I want my stuff. You check my stuff. You know, I'm Am I missing my flight again? I'm missing my flight again. >> I'm not getting MY MY WIFE IS EXPECTING ME. I haven't seen my son since January 28th. MY WIFE GOT FLIGHT. YOUR BOOK'S A FLIGHT. WHY? Let's just keep him right here until we get a core. Call my wife. My wife. HE'S BING TO LOCK ME UP AGAIN. I'M A CITIZEN. I'm citizen. >> That's my social security number. >> We need elevator over here. I'll meet All right. Yeah. I need water. All right, let's go. This is what happened last night, right? [music] Yo, I I went, "Oh, okay, sir. Please, sir. Free bag, sir. The guy held me up for three or four days." >> So, you just got uh >> my wife >> denied Gordon or what? >> No, you know, it got cancelled again. You know, I keep getting kicked around, you know, my wife didn't tell me A.M., it told me P.M., You know, so where you at? >> Why am I sex Friday? You know, I want some hot food with my wife tried. >> He showed no remorse whatsoever for what he had done. In fact, he was already on probation, something he admitted shortly afterward. >> Probation in Long Island to call officer Lally and so I can get the call. >> What's going on, bro? They're going >> probation. Right. So, I left New York because I had a heart attack. I had a stroke. December 10th. Okay. Right. And I went to Las Vegas, but my flight got cancelled because some said I wasn't allowed out. But the fact is I thought I deserved it cuz I've been through a lot. I got really bad PTSD. Mr. Goodwin, >> what happened today, man? >> I came here early. And if my wife told me PM, I would have stay I would have gone to the shelter. >> I haven't slept. >> Okay. In days. You want ID? >> You got a driver's license on you anyway? >> I got my British passport, but I did go to get my real ID and the racist vestments denying me three or four times. >> Okay. So, where's your passport at? >> It's in my bag or all my stuff >> in your bag. >> Yeah. Which one? The backpack. >> The backpack is called let's say the Indian hot dog right there. The simple. >> Afterward, the police returned to the store to receive their decision. >> All right. So, we got called to I guess someone at uh Neo Diamond or whatever stole something. So, we're watching him and he stole a bag of y'all's chips and ran off and we had to fight him and stuff. Um question is, do you want to press charges for the chips? >> I got the mod question. >> Let me just get your BNA um construct. You got a bean bed for the manager for the castle. Okay. >> All right. The disent though. >> Cop. >> I just need a report. >> Cop. Wait. They don't want to press charges. Um, what's my report number going to be? >> On you. >> Hello. >> Yes, sir. >> I'm looking for the I think black female that works here, maybe. Do you have Do you have her name? Uh, >> you know what I'm talking about? >> Yeah. Yeah. That's our supervisor. >> She uh she's someone stole apparently over here. >> Yeah. What what do you attempt to steal? >> He tried to steal one of the I say one of these when he steal the sky blue one. >> So >> So I went with her cuz when he took it I cuz I went with her out there cuz he was sitting out he's out on the balcony smoking. He just kind of had on the counter. I just took it back from him. >> So he had it at the >> Yeah. He he had walked all the way out to the the balcony outside and then he was just standing up on the rail and like leaning on a smoking cigarette. And then um >> can you call her and see if she wants to prosecute cuz we had to tackle this guy and fight him. So >> no. >> Um no just cuz like I mean I did get it back. >> Yeah cuz he just left it like on the counter so I just kind of like walked up slight back and >> they didn't want to prosecute. >> I guess I'm taking him for resisting. >> He was charged with resisting arrest. The stores declined to press theft charges because the merchandise had been recovered while he also had a prior criminal trespass conviction at the same airport. Trying to play the victim does not erase the consequences of your actions. When the evidence is clear, resisting officers only makes the situation worse. >> Cuz I was pregnant. I just thought I was pregnant today and I was [ __ ] doing that. I haven't even been stealing. >> Is that your first time? >> No, it is first time. It's a charm. >> Just kidding. >> I'm sorry, guys. I'm literally just kidding. On the 22nd of September 2025, police were dispatched to Kohl's after receiving a report of a theft that had just occurred. Three people were believed to have been involved and had just left the store. But the real surprise came from the third woman. First, here was what happened when officers arrived at the scene. >> Excuse me. Where they at? >> Where the retail? [clears throat] >> I don't know. >> Wasn't here. That's why. >> Okay. Thank you. Hello. >> Who's racist? Me. >> Oh, not you. You just walk on me. >> Exactly. I just showed up. Are you guys waiting for >> Yeah, I'm just waiting for a picture. >> Okay, just hang out here. >> How can I help you guys? Okay. Hello. >> What you mean, >> Ashley? >> Feel like I've met you before, have I? You might cuz of my exe to Philly. Oh god. >> He's my ex for a reason. >> You got bad taste. >> He's the reason he's in King County cuz he tried to kill. >> I'm sorry. >> And I'm sorry this is happening. But >> here we are. Are you okay? I see you shaking and stuff. You all right? >> Cuz I'm pregnant. I just found out I was pregnant today and I was [ __ ] I haven't even stealing. >> I'm just asking cuz I see you shaking. Okay. So >> if at any point during this >> you need medical attention for whatever reason, just let us know. Okay. >> So even the police seem to recognize this woman. But when they asked about it, she tried to change the subject while in reality loss prevention had quickly recognized her from a previous theft. >> We're going to go back to the PD. What's going to happen when you get that product out? You're going to go back to the police department. Okay. How many time have you gotten a conviction for retail theft already? >> Uh yeah. >> From where? >> Um Walmart and Crystal Lake. >> Okay. And it was a $50 thing. Um, I stole it was literally a ankle bracelet cuz I got run over and I stole two vitamins things. >> Yeah. After he's done with this, we take you back to the PD. We get you processed. >> Okay. Are you still living out of Mckenry? >> Um, no. I'm kind of homeless at the moment. >> Okay. Do you have a car here? >> No. >> No. You're just here with the friends. >> Okay. So, I want to show you. Um, she's got more stuff than just these two items. She says she claims she was not behind, but I've never left my eyes on her off camera. >> But, did you check the show? >> Hey, hey, hey. This is her. >> I I know you got a lot of stuff going on right now, okay? And I can sympathize with that, but right now, there's nothing else to do right now. We're not going to argue with them. Do me a favor. Just don't argue with us about anything. We're going to try and get this done as quickly and as simply as possible. and then we see where we go from here, right? But if you start bickering and arguing with everybody and whatnot, I'm not saying you're going to, but I want to prevent that from happening. Does that make sense? Okay. >> Earlier, the woman had claimed that she was pregnant, but it turned out that there was no medical confirmation behind it. She was only guessing. Was she simply using it as an excuse to gain sympathy? >> And she's like, I have a feeling you're pregnant. And I was like, and I'm 30 days late on my period. I was like, >> sometimes parents just know. And you'll learn that at some point, >> which >> I don't know. I just keep right close to my life. >> Well, today hopefully is the day that you start changing things, right? >> Like fixing things for your life cuz you got a reason to now, right? >> Yeah. >> I'm not saying you're a terrible person or anything. None of us are thinking that. It's just a matter of now. We've already gone so far. Now it's just we have to do the steps that follow. Okay. >> I'm going to take the items out. >> You want me to step out? You want us to turn around? What do you want us to do? Oh, >> we got a female officer here. Okay, just hang out right here for a second. >> We'll step out. She's got product. >> They be like all extra fancy. I'll be like, you did it. >> Broke my promise. >> Huh? >> I broke my promise. >> It's fine. There's another retail theft. >> There was one earlier today. You guys were here, right? >> Yeah, but no. Q just called out another one. >> While waiting to confirm the value of the merchandise for the charge, the officers answered all the questions from the two people outside. >> Why don't you get out tonight? We don't know. >> We don't know because say it all depends on like what comes back from her record. Um, normally if it was just simple that she just stole from here and this the first time then yeah she get processed and then released. >> I don't know if she does or doesn't. So >> then I'm assuming maybe she gets released, maybe she doesn't. I I don't know. >> It depends on a few things. So for right now I would give you an answer. >> I got these now cuz he had a way to get these. I just go outside real fast and my bay >> for right now. Do me a favor. Just hang out here. Okay. It's I don't know if they're going to have to any questions for you guys or if they want you guys to just hang out. >> Um >> well, we told us that we could >> I don't I don't know. But when they arrived and spoke with store employees, it appeared this wasn't the first time the woman had been caught. >> Uh, do you know who called us about someone sleeping in the vest? Okay. >> So, pretty sure I've got somebody that's homeless. We've already asked her to leave twice. So, um we're actually she's in the building somewhere now. I also have a receipt for everything you stolen from me, too. >> Is this all from today? >> All over the past couple of days. Thank you very much. I'm sorry. Your cart's the only thing I HAD TO PUSH MY IN. YOU STOLE MY LEG. >> SHE IMMEDIATELY began shouting the moment officers made contact. Fearing the situation could escalate, they moved to detain her. But her refusal to cooperate only made things worse. >> We're done doing this. Put your hands behind your back. Put your hands behind your back. Get your hand behind YOUR BACK. >> DON'T GANK ON ME AGAIN. >> GET YOUR HAND BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> Quit pulling away. >> Quit being an abuser. >> I'm going to get resistance charges, too. >> Get off me. >> [snorts] >> Put your hand behind your back, Murray. If not, you're going under a strange chair. It's your choice. >> I have no problem getting up. Okay. >> That's not what I'm asking you. Are you going to change out? I don't know what that means. Are you going to change your clothes tomorrow? >> Yeah, I'll change my clothes. Okay. Cuz if we have to fight you again, you're going in the restraint chair. Do you understand? Do you understand? You don't answer. You're just going to go in. >> I said yes. I'm not talking. Not to her. >> The woman was charged with two counts of fourthderee felony assault on a peace officer, obstructing official business, resisting arrest, persistent disorderly conduct, and criminal trespass. [music] A situation that begins with a simple trespassing complaint can quickly escalate when someone refuses to cooperate and becomes violent. Every act of resistance only adds more consequences, turning a minor incident into a much more serious criminal case. >> I don't think she got through. I have no intentions to steal. And that's% true. >> That's 110% true. On the 10th of June 2024, police received a report from Walmart about a shoplifting incident. The suspect was believed to be a woman who had intentionally used the selfch checkout to skip scan items. But what she didn't know was that every move she made was being watched behind the screens. Or the ketchup or I don't think she got anything on the bottom. Let me check. >> She wearing a white. Yeah, she she has a big number. She told me last time, "Excuse you." I said, "Girl, you gave me a job." >> As soon as the woman confidently pushed her cart out of the store, believing no one had caught her, she was stopped. Just get them in there with him. Okay. >> You do with me this way. You guys wanting to do trespasses too? What do you want? >> Just trespass off. >> Okay. What exactly? So the shoplifting and trespass or just trespass? >> Yes, both. >> As soon as she was seated in the loss prevention office, the woman immediately played the victim, explaining her circumstances in an attempt to deny what she had done. I'm just going through. I have no intentions to steal. And that's the 110% truth. That's 110% truth. I have no intentions to steal. Whatever I have, I'm going through. And like I said, it's selfch checkout. I mean, everybody >> I see some of yours. You use like different tags. Try to use different tags for me to Where did I do that? >> Oh, I don't recall the date, but yeah, you have. >> Yeah. So, do me a favor. Hang out here and then I'm going to go to trespasses and then we'll scare >> someone around. Okay, >> I told CJ like where are you sending? Not that I don't mind but policy bring you down. >> With no shame showing on her face, nothing she said convinced the loss prevention staff or the officer. They therefore placed her in handcuffs temporarily to continue the process. >> Come here real quick. You're going to go with these ones here. >> Excuse me. >> Carly, let me stand up. Put your hand out. These people are out here screaming, yelling. I'm like, I don't know what to do. Like, I'm sorry, man. Like, I got nothing to help you out with. And then like AC's like, oh shoot over it. >> Oh, no. That's the thing is it's still alive. >> Oh, it's alive. >> Yeah. You have a necklace on or anything? >> No, I don't. >> Okay. Go over here. Go over here to the back of the car. I'll make sure to put your stuff in the bag. All right. Have a seat for me. Oh my god. What is that? That looks great. Okay, hop in. And then I'll get on the other side. >> Afterward, their receipt showed a total value of $100. Police approached one of the two suspects to ask how they wanted the refund handled and learned that they had an EBT card. >> Hey, quick question. So, they were asking about the groceries. Do you want somebody to come by and pick them up or do you want them to refund it to your card? >> Um, probably just refund it. I don't think >> Just refund it. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Would they would they be able to do that though? cuz it's through uh the EBT. Would they be able to do that or no? >> They should be able to. I can ask really quick. >> Yeah, if they can do that, then just responded. >> In the end, Madison was charged with shoplifting and trespass. What do you think about cases like this?
