Don't you even dare, damn it. >> Come on. >> Stop or I'll break your ass or I'll have a blood clot. Stop! >> Oh my goodness. >> that on her mouth. >> the only places that >> Holy Toledo. >> You. >> How did we go? >> No. >> Behind the surveillance screens tracking shoplifters, urgent calls were made to the police by loss prevention employees. Swift and decisive, that was what the police did to bring them down. Everything is in today's video. Cops surprise stop a shoplifter after Walmart secretly calls 911. We are This is Law. Don't forget to like and subscribe. Starting with this or woman, a police officer who was already on duty. >> Gets her receipt, heads out, goes right past. >> It's not to take I wasn't trying to take anything, honest. Okay, my intention was not to steal anything. >> On the 12th of October 2025, police received a report from Walmart about a woman committing theft, but what made it shocking was that she was an on-duty police officer, still wearing her uniform. Shortly after, officers arrived at the scene to collect evidence through surveillance footage. >> See the video cuz she's selling us something and I want to make sure that what she's trying to tell us doesn't match up. >> I'm watching her on the video. >> Yeah. >> She was when she was in the front end, yeah. >> That that self-check self-checks that are closed, but we have product there, so we leave it open. She went through there, she had her phone out. >> Okay. >> Then she cuts around the corner, goes over to Clint, door two. Clint talks to her, she turns around, she goes to customer service. She waits in line at customer service for a minute or two. She rolls up, says a couple words to Jim Riley, the team lead, comes out, heads back to door two, talks to Clint again, circles back around, and then she cuts through up up through the self-check, turns around, gets in line at self-check five. >> Okay. >> She's at to five, she buys she scans the tote, just the tote. Doesn't open anything, scans the tote, just the tote. Gets her receipt, heads out, goes right past the the door host on one, head and she's past everything, she's past the scan and >> Yeah, yeah. >> And that's when we stop her and say, "What are you doing?" >> So, cuz she's she's claiming that she was trying to find someone to watch her car cuz she didn't know where but that doesn't explain why she would then try to push out with her >> Perhaps wearing a police uniform had made her feel a sense of security while committing the theft. But maybe it was exactly because she was an officer that she became anxious about what she was facing at that moment. >> Sure. So, here's the situation, right? Obviously, you know why we're over here. >> Yes, I do. >> Yep. Yep. What kind of animals do you have at home? >> I have dogs. >> Dogs? How many? >> Uh eight. >> That's quite a few. What kinds? >> Uh Belgian Malinois and New Yorkies. >> Okay. Very good. Um So, why were the items inside of the tote? >> Like I said, I have two separate totes. I was going to do one for the candy and then one for my personal stuff. I was on my way home. >> Mhm. So, why were the items inside of the tote though? >> Just to make room. I wasn't Like I said, you can fit two totes side by side in the cart. >> There weren't two totes in the cart. >> No, I guess I grabbed I thought I had grabbed two but I grabbed two lids. >> Okay. Okay. Um and so, you put up the items in the tote? >> Yes, I did. >> The animal items inside that and those are your personal items. >> Yes, those are mine. >> Okay. All right, so you put those in the tote to keep make room. >> Yes. >> Um W- And when were you going to get the candy then? >> Um I was going to get them probably at the same time. I was going around to make Candy usually melts. I didn't want to put it in my car right away. >> Mhm. >> I was just going to get it on my way out. >> Or >> come back in. >> Okay. >> Get some stuff. >> She tried to justify her actions by claiming she was simply making things more convenient for herself while shopping, but shortly after the officers confronted her with other suspicious inconsistencies. Which one do you think makes sense? >> Well, like I said, I was normally putting the totes side by side so they fit in there. So I can lift the tote in there cuz one of them's usually the heaviest, it's the candy. >> So you went to self-checkout, right? >> Yes. >> And what did you purchase at the self-checkout? >> I just got the tote. I was >> Why not the items inside of it though? >> Completely I didn't know >> inside of the tote. >> know, but >> Then you tried to leave the store? >> Yes. >> And you got confronted by asset protection? >> Yeah, I was trying to go to talk to that lady to see if she could hold my cart. >> Mhm. >> I was looking for my keys. Honest, looking for my keys. >> I understand that. I understand that. Um I believe that you're looking for your keys, right? >> Yes. >> But here's the deal, you did a crime today. >> I know, it doesn't look good. >> Mhm, no, it's illegal. It's not that it doesn't look good, it's it's shoplifting. It's >> That was not my intention. >> I'm not asking you what your intention was, okay? >> know, I got it. >> I'm not saying when you got here you planned to steal stuff. >> No. >> She insisted that she had not come in to steal that day, but the store told a different story. They provided multiple surveillance clips from August 27th to September 30th documenting three separate incidents carried out in the same manner. The items were typically dog food, toys, and household products. At that point the officers directly confronted her about her behavior. >> I'm saying something happened, and along the way all we paid for was a tote, and then we tried to leave the store, and you're saying to find a lady, but you went to customer service, you went to one of the greeters prior to going and purchasing the tote. At any point, at any point, you could have left your property, right? Now, you're a certified peace officer, correct? >> Yes. >> If I lost my keys, what are the keys for? >> My car, my unit. >> Yeah. So if I lost my keys for my unit, I would leave my merchandise and go find it because it's kind of important. Especially you said your weapons in there, correct? >> Yes. >> So why go through self-checkout, purchase the tote, and then try to leave the store? We just need to be We just need to be on the level. That's it. We're done We're done playing games. >> My intention Okay, my intention was not to steal anything. Okay. >> At what point? At what point? >> No, none of it. No, none of it at all. Like I said, I I was >> So So you put all these items in the tote one by one. >> Yes, I did. >> Asset protection watched you do that. They watched you close the lid on the tote after every time you put something in there. They've been They've been watching you. I watched the surveillance video. You look like a thief. I'm going to be honest with you, you look like a shoplifter on the video. I've watched a lot of shoplifters on video. You look like a shoplifter. >> Okay, that's not good then. >> It's not. It's not, and it makes it hard for me to believe that you didn't remember things were in the tote when you went to leave the store. Especially when you grab the bag cuz you know what that looks like, right? What does that look like? >> Yeah, like I >> You grab one bag with a bunch of stuff in the tote you didn't buy, what does it look like? >> Yeah, it looks like I was trying to take something. >> Yeah, it looks like you're going to try to make your purchase appear legitimate with a bag, right? You're going to put some stuff in there, and I don't know at what point your plan was to do that. I don't know. >> No, and that No, that wasn't it. >> Yeah, but >> I always get a bag and I use it for my Belgian Malinois to pick up poop. He's got the biggest >> Yeah. >> In the end, she was charged with multiple counts of shoplifting and fraud after evidence showed a clear pattern of repeated theft. Her actions showed that abusing trust and authority for personal gain only leads to greater consequences. No matter one's position, accountability cannot be avoided when patterns of dishonesty are exposed. Next, this woman only made her situation worse. On the 16th of July, 2024, the police were dispatched to a retail store after receiving a report of a theft. The suspect was a woman who attempted to conceal a bottle of liquor in her pants and fled. This was what happened next. >> Hey, stop. Come here. Come here. No, come here, ma'am. We're not playing this game. Come here. >> You're being accused of shoplifting. Do you have anything on you that you took from the store? >> No. >> Okay, is there any reason why there'd be liquor in your pants? >> No, I have a dick in my pants. >> Okay, do you have anything in your backpack? >> You can check my bag. >> Okay, take it off for me. Any weapons? >> No. >> No? Okay, let's walk over here. >> more dicks in my bag. >> That's fine. >> Look in my bag. >> We're going to go We're going to go over to our cars right now. >> For what? >> Because, number one, we're conducting an investigation. Okay, so you are detained at this point. Okay? >> No, I'm not because you have no reason to detain me. >> I absolutely do. >> What is the reason? >> Because you're being accused of shoplifting. >> Yeah, accused. >> Please. Owners or I'm sorry, management inside the store saw you stick bottles down your pants. Now, we're not >> Do you want to go in handcuffs? Cuz that's where we'll go. Okay, we're going to walk over to the cars. Let's go. >> Hold on. >> Ma'am, now. >> Hello. No, I'm coming with you. I'm talking to my friend. I got my arm. >> We're going this way. >> Can you let go of my arm? I never said I wasn't going with you. I am going with you. >> Let go of me. I never said I wasn't going with you. >> Pull away again, you're going to go in handcuffs. >> [ __ ] you. You put You grabbed me. >> I understand that. >> Arby's, thanks. >> Hello. Where you at? >> The woman denied every accusation the police made, and of course, there would have been nothing more to say if her actions immediately afterward had not started a completely different story. >> How about not listening and walking to the >> Hold down. Ew. Let go. >> No. Let her go. >> You're going to get tased. >> Okay, well, stop it. Stop. Stop. Shark. Shark. >> I got one arm. >> Shark. >> Easy. >> Let go. Let go. >> letting go. >> Shark. Help me. >> arrest. You got that cuff right? All right. >> Bro, let me go. >> Nope. >> Huh? >> Take this. >> Got you. >> Let go. >> You need to. >> Amid the chaos she caused, the bottle of liquor hidden in her pants shattered, and that admitted everything. And it also affected her condition, forcing the officers to be cautious with every next move. >> Yes, sir. >> Yes, sir. >> I'm going to roll you onto your left hip. We're going to sit you up on your butt. From that point, we're going to pick a knee stand up from there. Now, you do anything >> I'm not >> that is not what I ask, >> I'm not doing it. >> you're going to catch additional charges. Do you understand? >> Yes, sir. >> Do you understand? >> Yes, sir. >> I'm just making sure that we're on the same page. Roll to your left. Sit up on your butt. Good. Yeah, you got some you got some pretty good cuts. >> Really? >> You good? >> Yeah. >> All right. Glass everywhere. She's got a good bit of cuts in her leg. So. >> Did you hear what I said about her? I didn't hear what you said about the squad, do you know about it? >> Yeah, they're coming. And fall. Fall safe, dispatch. >> I'll turn it. >> Not yet. Just advise the squad, we do have numerous cuts to the subject's right leg. She concealed a glass bottle in her pants, and it broke on contact. >> Given the woman's condition, the officers immediately provided first aid, but she seemed unconcerned about it and cared more about her belongings instead. >> I don't think it turned out well. Is that embedded? >> I'm serious. Please do not take off my pants. >> Right now, ma'am, we're more worried about providing you aid. >> I'm serious. Please do not rip my pants. I'm serious. I will have >> They're already ripped. >> I know, but don't rip them worse. >> It's not embedded. >> I'm serious. Don't rip my pants. I can just take them off. >> the the status of your injury. >> Yeah, and you can just take them off. >> I'm not taking your pants off right now. >> Oh, yeah. Then she took off running. I almost tackled her and shattered. >> Hey, I'm going to back your car >> You can The city can pay you for some new pants. All right. >> Yeah, we don't have an ID. >> You guys need it? >> Well, let's see what we got. >> I can't see it. >> No, let Squad's here. Let them take care of that. Um, it doesn't look like Was that actually embedded or was it sitting on top? >> No, it's sitting on top. >> Yeah, I I think we're solid. >> I mean, they're still >> For the time being. John, you got an expand? Say again? No, not yet. All right, one second. Janay, is there any weapons on you at all? No? I'm going to use the back of my hand. Put your hands up on me. All right, step on into the car. I know it looks weird. Put your hands up. There you go. >> She was ultimately charged with theft and resisting arrest. Her actions showed that denying responsibility and resisting only escalated the situation, turning a minor theft into more serious charges and consequences. Next, this woman showed absolutely no sense of shame. >> See me? Braids for something you never told me I had to do. >> Hey, you need to relax. >> I want to ask you for one sec. >> On February 6th, 2026, deputies received a call from a hair salon reporting a woman who used their services and left without paying. Deputies quickly located the suspect, and this is what happened when they approached her. Stop. >> Yes. >> Hold on. You're not free to leave. What's going on? Did you just go to the salon? >> What are you talking about? I asked her on our special. I'm going back to Jamaica today. She said okay, she could do it like that, and then that was it. She never told me anything about paying or anything else. >> What's your name? Let's go with that. >> Why? >> Put the food down. >> I'm hungry. >> Put it down, though. >> You can't arrest me. >> You're not free to leave. This is an investigation, okay? So, I need to figure out what happened. >> I just told you what happened. She didn't tell me to pay for anything. I asked her, I told her I was leaving today to go to Jamaica. >> Okay. >> And I told her that's what I was doing. And she said okay, I can come and do it, but she never said anything about paying. >> Come and do what? What did you get done? >> My braids. That was it. >> Oh, she did your braids? >> Yes. >> How long did that take? >> It didn't take that. >> Okay. And so, then you left? >> Yeah. >> Did she tell you that you needed to pay? >> She never said that at first. No, when you tell somebody you have to pay, you have to tell them that up front. You never told me that up front. >> No, but you wouldn't expect that you go to a business? >> You never She never told me that up front cuz I said by chance, can you do it for me real quick, please? >> Got it. Okay. >> And she said okay. And that was it. >> She believed she did not have to pay for anything, and even more shamelessly, she showed no no for the situation, choosing to eat instead. >> 117 to take her in on a 10-45 at 8. >> I'm trying to eat my food. >> All right, just relax. You have any weapons on you? What's your name? >> Chardonnay. >> Chardonnay, what? Chardonnay, what? >> I'm trying to eat here. >> I know. Chardonnay, what though? What is it? >> Are you going to arrest me? >> No, no, no, no. I'm just putting gloves. It's cold out here. Chardonnay. >> Yeah. >> Like h a r o What's your date of birth? Let's >> That's >> Right after she finished her meal, the deputies quickly took action. >> Just do me a favor. Turn that way. You're going to go into handcuffs right now, okay? You're not under arrest, but you are going to be detained, okay? So, just relax. >> You guys can't arrest me, right? >> Why not? >> I'm paralyzed. >> Paralyzed? >> Yes. >> So, how's that possible? >> You guys let me to go get my stuff, please. >> If you don't mind, just hold it for a second. She's right there. I want to go talk to her and >> Shortly after, the deputies approached the salon employee, and it appeared from her account that there was no indication the suspect didn't have to pay, contradicting the suspect's claims. >> So, we were closed. I was closing up, but she came in all like, um, "Can you do my hair? I'm leaving on a trip tomorrow." Like, please. And I'm like, "Okay." So, I thought like I'll be nice cuz she seemed like desperate, whatever, right? >> Are you involved? >> Oh, she's my boss. I just called her. >> Okay. Sorry. I didn't know if you were involved. >> Oh, yeah. Um, and so, I was like, "Okay, yeah." So, it took about like almost an hour, and she nodded right out in the chair, but I didn't realize she was intoxicated until after she nodded out. And uh so So I'm braiding her hair. She had her hands all over standing or whatever color was in her hair. And uh and then then I'm finished. So she said, "Thank you so much." And then so I'm walking to the front and I was like, "Are you paying by cash or by card?" And she said, "Huh?" I said, "Are you paying by cash or by card?" And she said, "Oh, I'll be back in 30 minutes." I said, "No, it's I We We don't do that here. We're closing and we don't you know, you have to pay with your appointment." She said, "Oh, huh? Well, you never told me before that I'm going to have to pay. Why do I have to pay?" And then I said, um "Well, I'm going to need you to like pay for this." And she was like, "Well, I'm going." And then she like dashes out the door. So I I left to to just video her so I have like know who she is. And then I was like, I was like, "You can't just walk out. I'm going to have to call 911." She said, "You can do whatever you want. Go Whatever." And then and and uh and that was it. And then I was just shaking. So that's how I got >> You You said you took a video of her? >> Yeah. >> You have that on your phone? Can I see that? Okay. >> It's not It only has like the side of her cuz I I was behind her. >> Yeah. Okay. >> All statements and evidence pointed to the suspect's shameless belief that she didn't have to pay. Even while sitting in the patrol car, she still insisted she wasn't going to jail. >> I'll break the window. >> No, cuz I'm not supposed to go to jail cuz she never told me anything. I'm not saying you're going to jail. >> I'm not saying you're going to jail. >> No, I just wanted to talk with her. >> She'll definitely be trespassed. Um but I I mean I can like I said, I can ask her about the money I but if she doesn't have it, I can't like force her. >> She's not going to have money, no way. >> I I I doubt it, yeah. >> It's okay. That part takes two. I like definitely have her trespassed. >> Yeah, and that's >> That way if she's seen around the shop, we'll arrest her. >> this Right, in this way in a trespass then I'm not convincing you either way. I really don't mind. Like it doesn't matter to me. I just I have to ask. But in the more manner of a trespass, uh Uh, case number is pulled for a report, full police report is conducted and then uh what's we call a field interview report. We took a picture of her and then it's in our system that if you guys see her um and if we I mean I know but somebody like another shift comes by they don't know. If you guys see her and she literally just comes onto your property, that's all it takes. >> What's considered our property or is it the >> Uh, whatever the prop I I would assume probably like your shop. Not really the sidewalk but inside the shop at all. And if you get a video of that or picture, then she'll be arrested for that incident of trespassing. >> Only if she comes in the store. >> That was what the store wanted for the woman. Yet she still failed to recognize her wrongdoing, growing increasingly shameless with no sign of remorse. >> Please follow me again. Please follow me again. >> Listen. >> I see you never said nothing. So am I going to jail? >> Uh, yes. She just She's listening to what the store >> What the >> Just relax. >> Am I going to jail for this? >> Relax. >> I have $8 in my pocket. I'm giving you $8. You're really arresting me for something you never told me I had to do? >> Hey, you need to relax. >> When I asked you for what to you know what I don't need to Oh, my bad. >> There you go, it's fine. I didn't know that was full. >> Can you put my money in my and don't spend my money, please? >> I'm not going to take your money. Keep your hands out of your pockets. >> I really don't give a damn. >> I do. >> I don't want to go to jail. You can take all my [ __ ] Five guys Guzman I'm not going to jail cuz I she never told me none of this. Please stop grabbing my jacket. That's a dead person's jacket. >> Can I Can I ask you something? >> No, you know I wouldn't talk to you. >> Is ignorance a good uh defense in the law? Does a bank have a sign that says you can't rob it? >> talking about? >> You go to a you go to a you go to a you go to a you go to a place you're >> I did to >> Okay. >> I asked her she can do something for me cuz I'm going to Jamaica. I said that. >> Ma'am, I'm like a foot away from you. >> And she literally said, "Okay." She never told me I had to pay for anything. >> Ma'am, I'm a foot away from you. >> In the end, she paid the price for her own lesson and was charged with theft of service. Ignoring basic responsibility and pretending not to understand payment does not erase consequences. Your actions will always come back and denial only makes the outcome worse. Even more shocking, the woman's actions would leave anyone stunned by what she had managed to do. >> Please, can I go to the toilet? >> Huh? >> Please, I beg you to come with me. >> No, you're staying. No, you're staying right >> No, you come with me. >> Oh my goodness. >> that her mouth. >> Holy Toledo's. >> On the 31st of October 2024, police arrested a woman believed to be the suspect in a scam at Walmart and it was known that her actions had been carried out in the exact same way at Walmart stores across the United States. When she was taken to loss prevention, she showed even more suspicious behavior. >> So, have a seat. You're being detained right now. We're investigating a crime. And uh we believe that you and your husband or that your partner just committed, okay? >> Yes, sir. >> Yep. So, you're not free to go. >> Please, can I go to the toilet? >> Huh? >> Please, I beg you to come with me. >> No, you're staying. No, you're staying right here. >> No, you come with me. >> No, you're staying right here. >> Please, I beg you. >> No, I'm waiting for 354. >> Please, mister. You come with me. Please, can I go to the toilet? >> Okay, I'm going to search you for suspicious items. I want to detain and I'm code four at the mall. You have your ID on you? You care if I open and get your ID? >> I give you my ID. >> I can get Okay. Is it in here? >> I give you the ID, please. Can you open my >> Just tell me where it is. I'll get it if you tell me where it is. >> I said in my bag. >> Right here, this one? >> Yeah. No, this one. >> Back here? >> Yeah, this one. >> Is it in here? Okay. >> This. New York New York. >> Georgia? >> New York. >> New York? Okay. >> I put my this on back. >> 90254 with a name out of New York. Is this real? >> Sorry? >> Last of Vladimir Victor Lincoln Adam. >> Everything had seemed normal, but with such a theft history, police quickly realized that all documents under her name were fake. At that moment, they gave her a chance to be honest. >> All right, so what's your real name? >> Jessica. >> Jessica? >> No, that's my name. >> Okay, you know lying to the police is a crime? >> I'm not lying. >> Yes, you are lying because there's no record on that name. You are lying. >> No, I'm not lying. >> Yes, you're lying. You want to give me your real name or do you want to get charged with giving an officer fake identification information? >> This one is my name. >> It's not your name. >> It's my name, I swear. It's my name. >> You have another uh ID in there? Um can you work on building PC for the >> Yeah. >> the money switch? I'm going to We're going to need a female. >> Can I use the bathroom, please? >> No. No. >> Please, I beg you. >> No. >> Can I please use the bathroom? >> She's not going. >> Please. >> No, she's not going. You can wet your pants, I don't care. Um >> Can you stop talking out loud to me? >> Clearly, asking to use the bathroom was a tactic to create an opportunity to escape. And although she had previously denied that her identity was fake, she immediately changed her statement afterward without showing any sign of embarrassment. >> All right, so this is fake. Yeah, it's fake. It can just go in the garbage. It's fake. Yeah. >> It's fake. >> It's fake. Hey John, if you have any um with the former incidents, if you have any like uh evidence there that this is an accomplice, then we can go that route also. >> Okay, I have something to show you. >> can add that. >> I have one from a couple months ago. >> Okay. >> So, 319937 is what we're short right here. Cash long short. >> Okay. >> So, basically 3200 probably. >> All right. Hey John. >> So, can >> So, like $3200 short there, too. >> Yes, the guy did. >> Okay. So, how how are you going to put this together with her to do this? >> We're going to have to get the video of of her handing them cash. Okay, who was she handing And cuz he was he was there from part of this with the beginning him and Cole. We might have to talk to all three of them. Cuz they were kind of all together. >> She was so much stuff. >> There's still more stuff up there they can't get. >> It became clear that her actions had been carried out as part of a coordinated plan with the assistance of others. At that point, the cashier provided information about their prior behavior. >> It was just normally like it was kind of weird cuz he kept asking for like at first it started with watches and then she started like asking for like the GoPro, the headphones, like all this stuff. >> Yeah. >> And then the husband was asking for like PS5 and like and other stuff. >> Mhm. >> And so eventually when he was checking the lady out, he she ended up not wanting some stuff. And then and they were counting the money, um she took it back and then that's when I saw her like slip her finger like through the bills. >> Okay. >> And then um she kept like eyeing me cuz she saw me like standing behind like there. And she kept eyeing me, that's why I kind of like look suspicious. >> Okay, so had she already paid for the items she had? How did How did that work before the switch? >> that um checkout that you you saw, she had checked out that stuff before and that's when I went to go look for her. >> Okay. And then when did you At what point did you see the switch her do the switch? >> I didn't see her take the money. I just saw her finger like the right cuz I um Isaiah stood up in front of her, so I didn't see her take stuff anything. I just saw saw like it was weird that she >> Okay. So it was when Isaiah was between you and her, you thought >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> At that point, police were certain enough to take her into custody and bring her to the station, but before doing so, surveillance footage evidence had already been collected. >> All right, we got hard evidence. >> She took it back. >> Yep. Okay, so you're under arrest for and it's going to be a felony charge for stealing around $3,000. We're going to get the exact number. You're under arrest. Okay, stand up. I'm going to unhook her and take this off. All right, perfect. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in a court of law. You have the right at this time to talk to a lawyer and having present with you while you're being questioned. If you cannot afford to hire a lawyer, one will be appointed to represent you before questioning if you wish. You can decide at any time to exercise these rights and not answer any questions or make any statements. So you're under arrest for theft of $3,000, give or take. We'll get it the exact number figured out, but um that's what's going on. Do you understand your rights that I read to you? Yes or no? Huh? >> I stole nothing. >> Okay. >> She still insisted that she had not stolen anything, but she seemed to forget that she was already a familiar face to Walmart so frequently present in their system that her repeated appearances had become strikingly noticeable. >> Oh my goodness. >> Get that amount. >> Holy Toledo's. Let me take a photo down. $800,000? >> And all the places they hit. There's got to be an investigator on this. I don't know. >> There's got to be. >> One of them got caught costing one of them got caught like 2 weeks ago and he's over a million. >> What's her name you said? >> Basful Montanau. >> So that kind of sounds like the name the other officer said her her real name was or something like that, you know? Something like that. Like >> Well, she's getting booked so they'll figure out who she is. >> She was placed under arrest and charged with felony theft for the loss of approximately $3,000. The incident shows how repeated deception and reliance on fake identities can escalate quickly into serious felony charges as surveillance and financial records eventually expose even carefully repeated scams. Next, this group of shoplifters proved to be far worse than expected. >> All right. Um >> Food. >> Do you know how much that costs? >> 25 25 a can. >> Before I pull my gun out, you going to piss me off. >> Food. >> All right, you heard him. >> Food. >> Three times, yes. Come over here. >> On the 29th of August, 2024, police were dispatched to a Walgreens store after receiving reports of a man and two women concealing merchandise while shopping, all of whom fled immediately afterward. Upon arrival, store employees provided specific descriptions of the suspects. >> All right, so Okay. >> It's a woman with dreads. She looks like a man. >> Yeah, what all did they take? >> At least seven to eight infant meals. >> See, she's showing it. >> Mhm, showing it though. >> All right. So you guys prosecute for that? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> And we do want to We do. They walked. They walked. >> And that was and then there was a woman or some whoever drove that car. So they both went walking and then the car backed up. I don't remember seeing the car. Like a dark gray, charcoal. >> We did not know that. Wow. >> Oh, so it was a it was a associated car. >> Yeah, that was a female, I believe. >> Was she alone? >> No. >> So our manager that agrees to prosecute >> She just said yes. >> Okay. All right. After time this one >> You have a >> And she threatened she threatened to come and get her. >> Apparently it's over a hundred or something like that. >> Yeah, over there. >> It's over a hundred dollars you guys do. >> It's over a hundred at least. Cuz it was infant meals. It was like seven to eight infant meals. And they're like 30 >> 26 >> And but it was all in a black bag and >> No, the guy the baby he had more. He had more in a backpack. >> So yeah. Right. >> The one with dreads looks like a man but it's actually >> That's a woman. >> Yeah, so this it looks like a man but this is a woman. >> No, she she walked out too fast. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Cuz she realized that I was yelling corner cuz I heard the alarm go off. I was like corner. >> Well, we need to know how many they took and we're going to need a voided receipt for the exactly what was taken. >> All right. They took some of that. They took some of that. They're like >> Uh She has access to the cameras? >> Yeah. >> All right, so I have to figure that out. >> Yeah, they took some of that. >> It's over two hundred for sure. >> There was stickers on it, too. So that's probably why it was making noise. >> The total loss was determined to be around $4,000. Meanwhile, police intercepted the involved suspects and the situation quickly became tense. >> 519 for sale. Yo, get out the car before I pull my gun out. You going to piss me off. Three times, yes. And >> Okay, everybody hang out on the bumper till I get more Hang out on the bumper for me till I get more people. When I get more people here, then I will have a conversation with you. >> Hello, sir. >> Hey, all right. >> All right. How you doing? >> So far, so good. >> Uh he doesn't have his ID. Can you take him and get his get his wallet? Yeah. >> All right. >> You come over here with me. >> She had took the milk out the um car. I mean, she I think she took some milk out the store and then she took it out the store and then I don't know. I heard her arguing with them. No, they start arguing with her first. So, what they had stopped They had stopped her for? >> Huh? >> Her taking the milk. >> Huh? >> Cuz of her. >> Cuz of who? >> Why they call the police like >> For what? >> What do you think? >> For her taking the milk and not giving it back. >> The woman in the orange hat claimed that she was just the driver and was fully aware of the actions of the other two, but the situation grew more serious as what the officer said next clearly implicated her in the crime. >> And you buy something and they give you a receipt, right? >> No. Yeah, I'm saying. >> Okay, so how many receipts do you think we found in those bags? >> None. >> Probably none. No, definitely none. So, you're you're kind of you know what I mean? You see the road we're going down? It's not super good for them. Their problem is you're driving with them. Right? So, what did that What do you ever hear that saying, "Birds of a feather, they flock together"? Right, see you're already finishing it for me. So, you know, you had to have some sort of knowledge of what they were doing. >> After a while, yes, I did. I'm not going to lie. After a while, but I said, "I ain't I ain't stealing the stuff, so >> I get you. >> You know what I'm saying? I ain't stealing it. They ain't catching me doing that. Like when I was with >> But what conversations are you guys having in the car? Like did you drive them around, they get out, they go into a store, they come back. What are they scoring? Oh, we going here, there, there, like >> Mhm. >> just drive me like You see I don't have no map in my phone. >> Okay. >> You know what I'm saying? Like if I pull up my map, I'm not GPSing it. I'm just >> I hear you. >> If they put the map in, I'm >> And they say, "Go up here." Okay. >> In contrast to the driver, the other woman in the group appeared completely unable to stay calm, and her words came off even more tense and aggressive. >> My license is revoked for 40. >> Not here, but up north, they be a lot of, you know, >> What? >> Yeah, they didn't like the police. >> I'm from up north, and I was a cop up north. What do you mean by that? >> what? So, how long you you right now in West Palm Beach County? How long you been in Palm Beach County, sir? >> 3 years. >> 3 years, but I've been a resident of all my life. >> Awesome. Then, how do you know about up north, so? >> Well, what you mean? Because I see it on the news, sir, and it's sad. >> Well, I was I was actually there in person. >> Okay, I know, sir. It's even more sadder on you. >> Man, it wasn't really that sad. There really wasn't that much you were talking about. >> Man, no. I can see it on the news. You Don't you know what killing up north? It be on our news down here. >> No, that's fine, but I'm telling you as somebody who actually experienced >> Okay, yeah. I don't experience somebody lost their life. >> Officer sir. >> What's your name, man? >> Officer Caceres. >> I'm Rashad. >> Nice to meet you. My hands are dirty. >> Oh, no. Yeah, I can Yeah, I can give you that paper. >> Yeah. >> I can't give you that paper. >> Officer Caceres Palm Beach Gardens. >> You know, too. You know, hey. The other detective is arresting your cousin, which is the female. >> Mhm. >> Right? And arresting also Antonio is his name? >> Antonio Martin. >> Okay. All right. So, on unfortunately, that detective says that you got to go to. So, kind of like an accessory thing. I know. I mean, I'm sorry, but that's that's where we're at. Well, let me tell you Yeah, I'll try I mean, I'll I'm going to help you through this cuz you were you were helpful with with with this entire thing, but that that's not my call, you know what I'm saying? So, it's a it's a it's it's it's basically a misdemeanor. Do you Do you know what that means? >> No, don't come back but they about to take me. Huh? Accessory you said? >> Kind of an accessory. >> Kind of. >> Assisting in this and that. >> It was like it's a misdemeanor, he said though. He said the other detective said I have to go because you know, I was the driver, basically. >> So, then what he told me to do is just left my job to come to >> Yeah. An officer returned to the store shortly after where an employee who had witnessed the theft provided a statement about what had happened. >> So, our manager came and >> Okay, Carl is your store manager? >> Not store manager. She's the lead person. >> Okay. Okay. >> was She was like, "What happened? What happened?" I was like, "They stole it, you know?" And then she they one one of them white shirt and raggedy pants. >> Okay. >> And she had dreads. >> About how tall was she, you think? >> At least a little bit. No, she's my height. She >> Okay. And then so, what what How did you know that they had stolen the formula? >> Oh, cuz when I was in the aisle, first thing that one was holding the bag open and one was just stuffing stuff in. >> Okay, so which one was holding the bag open? >> The gay dude. >> Okay, and who was stuffing the bag? >> The one with the uh the dreads. >> The white t-shirt. So, what was the majority of the items that were stolen? >> Baby >> All three suspects were ultimately charged with retail theft exceeding $750 and resisting the recovery of stolen property, while the driver was also held accountable as an accessory to the crime. Being aware of a crime and choosing to stay involved can be just as damaging as committing it yourself, because in the eyes of the law, silence and presence can turn into accountability. More chaotic. Let's come to the horror at this McDonald's. >> 57 >> Damn Thor. >> [ __ ] y'all. >> He's got >> I can't go to jail. Don't make me. >> On the 6th of January, 2025, police received an emergency call from a McDonald's about the presence of a mentally unstable woman causing a disturbance and refusing to leave. I didn't see it. >> What happened? >> Did she get like naked? >> She flashed. She flashed one of our employees and the the customer or two that was in here at the time when she did it cuz she did it right in the middle of No, she did it right here. Right here, so >> Just go. And even after calming down, it seemed that they were not what she truly cared about. >> Can you get my keys off the floor? Get my keys off the floor. I'm not going nowhere. >> Can you take a seat inside of the car? >> I don't want to sit in the car. >> Well, you have AC, so you're let's >> I'm fine. I don't need AC. So, we have to figure it out. >> The lady asked her what did she steal? She's saying that she walked out with the merchandise, but she walked out with nothing. So, what is she talking about? She sounds stupid. >> If you get here to I can head over to Walmart and probably start a show. >> At this point, the officers returned to the reason they were there, and it seemed she also had her own explanation to justify herself. >> Like I said, we're conducting an investigation that occurred at Walmart. All right? For a shoplifting. Okay? Unfortunately, you match the description 100%. >> Isn't it shoplifting is you out the store with the stuff? >> Without paying for it. You passed all points of sales and you passed all points of sale, which is all the registers, even the register by the little pretzel spot. And past the pharmacy on that stuff. And they said they caught you on camera. All right? So, camera is not edited. You can't edit a any video within a few minutes. Okay. All right. Just so you know. All right? Can you explain what happened? I want to hear your side of the story. >> Yeah, I was scanning the stuff and then the the lady was taking me out of the cart. >> When you say the lady, you're talking about the customer service rep? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> So, I was just standing there and I got to go to work. So, I left the cart there. >> So, you left the cart over there? >> Yeah, left the cart. >> your stuff? >> Yes. >> Okay. And then when you left, you obviously left in a particular way, okay? And we saw it on camera as well. So, they're saying that you left in reverse out the store. >> I left in reverse cuz she was trying to get my tag. >> Okay. >> What she doing with my tag for? I didn't take nothing out the store. >> But you passed all points of sale. That's the main purpose. >> The woman had not realized that her actions were already an offense and she even completely denied her earlier resistance. >> Regardless of the fact, when an officer stops to request for you to get out of the vehicle and we tell you to >> Okay. >> Hold on. And you start resisting and saying no, >> It's the way they got me out the vehicle. >> Yes, because you you said no multiple times. >> No, I said it once. >> When you're not cooperating with officers and we give you an lawful order to stop because we're conducting an investigation, that's when it turns to resisting. And then when you got violent with the other officer and you start You actually >> No, I didn't get violent. >> You got violent. You actually hit him. >> I didn't hit nobody. That's a lie. That is a big lie. I did not hit no officer. >> Seriously, yeah. >> No, I did not. Don't don't do that. Don't do that. I did not hit nobody at all. I don't I didn't put my hands on nobody. Let me see the camera cuz I didn't hit nobody. >> Ma'am. >> So that's a lie. That's a big lie right there. My hands didn't go on nobody. And then you pull me out the car. >> Yeah, at the end of the day when we're conducting an investigation and >> When you when you open my door and say get out the car, you don't do that. >> Okay, so we told you to get out the car multiple times and you denied >> The first time that he told me to get out the car officer I said why do I have to get out the car? Then he pulled me out the car. You don't do that. >> So we were conducting an investigation. That was the main reason. We We were conducting it. We gave you a lawful order. All right. For cuz we were conducting an investigation. That was the main purpose. >> The woman was charged with shoplifting, resisting an officer with violence, and battery on a law enforcement officer. Actions driven by denial and resistance only make consequences worse. Taking responsibility early can prevent a situation from escalating beyond control. These mothers even use their own relatives to shift the blame. >> I would never, you know, tell my kids to like steal that Walmart thing. >> When his kids steal stuff, it's not like Walmart like big item like they're going to go to the bathroom. When the officers arrived, the women assumed they could just walk away, but they were immediately stopped. >> You can stop right there. But I don't know if that thing's going to fit there is the only thing I would worry about. >> I'm going to take this. You can stay with him right now, okay? >> Do you want them all under the same card with the sister or no? >> Yeah, they can. Yeah. This one was the two little kids. This one was the other kid. >> This is the one with the >> Yep, this is the one that was with the little itty bitty one. >> Okay. Okay, got it. >> So, we'll just do separate receipts for each, you know, person. You did? You're no dummy. >> One of them has a new pair of shoes on. She said she those were hers and these were her daughter's. >> Okay. >> So, her daughter had >> Okay. Which which daughter, hon? There's three other girls out there. Like the itty bitty, medium, or taller? >> one. >> Taller, okay. >> So, did you pay for these because >> I didn't even know those were up there. >> Because these are in those are no good until you activate them. >> Right. >> And you don't have anything else in your purse? >> No, ma'am. >> Those are your shoes? You didn't take any shoes? It's the other one. The other girl? I don't know. She said someone else had shoes on. >> Shoes on my >> Those are yours, okay. >> Even more shocking, the mothers casually let their relatives carry unpaid items on their person, forcing the police to reclaim the goods to take control of the situation. >> I paid my house in >> Is it you that has stolen shoes on your feet? >> are with my mom. >> Okay, yeah. So, those are stolen. Your mom said so. We got to take those, hon. >> Does she have my Crocs? >> I will get them for you. I think she's wearing your Crocs, I believe. >> No, we have to find the Crocs. >> Well, I got to We got to take those shoes, okay? >> No, no, they're not have these on. >> No. >> These are her white ones. I have black ones. >> No, your shoes on your feet. >> No, but my mom has my black >> Yeah, I'll get your shoes, but we got to take those, okay? Your mom told me that those are stolen that's on your feet, so I got to get them. >> I think that. >> And then I'll be sure I'll come back with yours, okay? Just black Crocs? Yeah. Okay. >> I mean, what do you want to do? What What did the kids say? >> So, they should have said that like mom told me to take it. >> Okay. >> Just walk out. So, >> Clearly, the children were naive, unaware that what the mothers were doing was wrong while the police discovered even more items that had not been paid for. >> This you paid for? It looks like this. So, you didn't pay for this? Correct? Or this? Is there anything in your purse that you didn't pay for? Ma'am? >> Yeah. >> Yes, there's stuff in your purse as well? Okay. All right. Are these items items you took out of there as well? >> No. >> No? Listen, this whole place got cameras all over the place. I'm going to be able to tell if you put these things in your purse. If these are things that belong to the store, listen, it's not going to make a difference if you took five items or if you took 12 items. I just want to make sure they get all of their things back. So, are these things that They from the store? >> Inside the loss prevention office, the woman in white tried to defend her actions, but her statements directly contradicted the testimony the police had already gathered. >> So, here's the thing. I was talking to the kids outside. They said, "Mom told us to bring the stuff out." Is that like tell me about that. >> No. I told them I'm not buying all that stuff. So, put it back. I never saw them leave out of the store. I told them to go back. I'm not buying all that stuff. I told them I'm in line. First of all, my things aren't ringing up. I paid for a couple of my items. I This is stuff that I bought, so I don't have a problem with buying stuff. I told them, "Look, I'm not buying all that stuff. Go put it back." I couldn't I did not see them walk out, so I would have stopped them. >> Okay. So, why why do you think they would lie to me about that? >> Cuz they're scared. >> Okay. >> You know, and they know I'm in here. >> Mhm. >> So. >> So, here's the thing. >> They said they were scared. >> Um with the amount of stuff they took, like we can easily charge them with felony retail theft in the amounts. >> Right. >> Um >> Yet, with the other unpaid items recovered from the carts, it was hard to say the children had done it. But, the mother still tried to shift the blame and take responsibility. >> You know, I'll take the blame. But, I'm not sure if this will ever happen again. Like you know. >> Okay. >> I told them to put their stuff in their drawers. With my children. You know, cuz kids can pick up things. You know, I was a kid before, too. >> Mhm. >> You know, and parents they know. >> Right, but kids don't pick up that amount of stuff. Like I know kids >> Right. >> take stuff, but not that amount unless they're kind of told otherwise. You know what I mean? Like that's just a lot of stuff for them to just walk out with. >> You know, I I told them not to walk out the store with that, but for my children's behavior, I will take the on their mom. I will take the blame. >> All right. So, let me go talk to the other woman out there cuz they just You're going to have to stay in here. So, uh your kids The kids out there were saying that you guys had told them to walk out with the cart and go wait in the car. Did you tell them to walk out of the store with the stuff? Why would they lie to me about that, then? >> Because they they probably scared. We told them do not come in here touching anything. >> It was alarming. If the police suspicions were true, this mother would rather pin the crime on her relatives than admit it herself. Even the other mother outside, facing the same question, thought the same way. >> Uh your kids The kids out there were saying that you guys had told them to walk out with the cart and go wait in the car. Did you tell them to walk out of the store with the stuff? Why would they lie to me about that, then? >> Because they they probably scared. We told them do not come in here touching anything. >> Okay. So, here's the thing. Like, when kids take stuff, it's not like Well, like, big items like that, like a vacuum. Like, that's just kind of bizarre for a kid to take, you know? Like So, why would they take that stuff out of everything in here? >> I'm not sure. I know they said they was getting They wanted to get Christmas gifts for people. They wanted to get Christmas gifts for they self. >> Where are you going? >> You guys were waiting out there? >> So, here's the thing. With the amount of stuff that they take, we can charge them with a felony. Um So, if you guys had told them to take the stuff out, it's not the end of the world. It's not the crime of the century. But, I don't want to have to charge juveniles with a felony. If you guys had told them to take it out to the car. >> At this point, the police noted from the receipts that it was clearly intentional on the part of the mothers with a mix of paid and unpaid items. It was time for them to face the truth. >> Here's the receipt of what you paid for. What's your first name, ma'am? >> Shala. >> Shala, okay. So, we're trying to get the honest truth of what's going on because right now you're all looking at felony charges, which means in the case of uh you know, the situation with these kids, if you guys are charged with felonies and we decide to detain and hold you, the kids are going with us to DCFS. So, we're asking for honesty because we have to take we'll have to take the children protect custody if you have to go that route. We need to know what was going on. I don't want these kids getting jammed up with something if the intent was, and I've been doing this a long time, if the intent was able send the kids out, you know, it's you send the kids out because it's going to be less conspicuous or whatever. Just be honest with us. You know, people are in hard times, we get that. We're we're trying to work with you. Your honesty and everything can be a determining factor of how we can handle this. >> You know, money's kind of funny, so we picked up a few extra items. >> Okay. >> Um I'm not happy with this whole situation. I'm not thinking it's cool. It's not something that, you know, I do on a regular basis. >> I believe that. I believe that. >> Um this being like single moms and stuff is, you know, >> Struggling. >> Struggling. >> Sure. >> All right. So, we did pick up some items. >> Okay. What happened with the with the kids? Did you guys just tell them to go and push the carts out? >> Um >> And the reason I'm asking you this, I don't want them kids catching charges because they're involved as well. So, I just want And again, I don't get stuck on hesitating on your answers. Just spill them out. I'm Listen, I'm dating a single mom that was single before me. I get it. Struggling, scraping change up to pay for gas. I I've watched it. It's hard. It's hard. That's why I'm trying to like empathize and sympathize with you because I've watched it with her, okay? >> In the end, both women were charged with retail theft and unlawfully contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Even when children are involved, parents are ultimately responsible for teaching right from wrong. Trying to manipulate or shift blame only compounds the consequences and ensures the law catches up. Next, this foolish shoplifter stole alongside her friend who helped get her caught. >> I was It was stupid is what I did. It was really stupid. >> I'm not sure what that is yet, but where's all of Kimber Kimberly's stuff? >> some of it. This is like I said, this is the only >> We have a lot of it. >> On the 13th of January 2025, police were dispatched to a Walmart parking lot after receiving a report of suspected theft involving a woman. When officers approached her, the woman appeared to display a conspicuously suspicious sense of panic. >> You want to step out for me? >> Uh for what? >> Uh you're being accused of retail theft. So I I need you to talk to asset protection. >> talk to asset protection. >> Sure. Sure. I need you to talk to asset protection just to get this cleared up. >> I'm sorry? >> I need you to talk to asset protection to get this cleared up. But they followed you out of the building. >> What? They followed me out? >> Yeah. >> Nobody followed me out. >> Okay. They're not allowed to leave the sidewalk area, so they're not allowed to leave the sidewalk area, so they just followed you. >> Nobody followed me. My boyfriend walked up to me to come get me. >> Sure. They didn't They didn't walk you out. >> that was with me. >> Okay. >> She's not in here. >> Where's she at? >> I don't know. >> All right, so that be the reason why you guys circled back around. >> Huh? >> Cuz you were at the AT&T store. >> AT&T store. >> Uh-huh. And then you came back to here. >> to go get Yeah, cuz my boyfriend >> So where is she at? >> I don't know. My boyfriend and her boyfriend were over there playing slots. >> Ah. >> I came over here so that she didn't have to walk or anything and I had some things I had to get, towels and things like that. >> Okay. >> my receipt. >> All right. >> I don't get it out of the bag at the moment. >> Well, you Your clothes don't match the description, so that makes sense that you had a friend in here. What was her name? >> Kimberly Green. >> Kimberly Green? >> Thus, it was clear that no described suspect appeared at the scene, and with the cooperation of the suspect's friends, the police made their decision. >> You guys are free to go. If you want to figure out what's going to happen with her, and if you want to wait or does she cause you a bunch of grief? If you just want to leave her here, but I would appreciate if you took her home with you, cuz I don't need her here in Litchfield. >> Yeah, I'll take her home right now. >> Okay. All right. So, we have her detained right now. Yes. So, more than likely we're going to run to the police department. Depending on how much she's taken, I'm probably just going to write her a citation and then let her go. But, I have to go figure out with asset protection. Okay? So, if you guys want to sit tight, I'll be right back with you, okay? >> No, but we were going to go We were going to go over to the We were going to go to the police station. >> Okay. Well, that's where they're at. >> Oh. >> So, if you want to If you want to hang out there, that's fine, but I need a way to get a hold of you if >> phone. I gave you my phone number, so >> Okay. >> we'll be there. >> All right. >> I want to >> All right. I'll be back with you, okay? >> At this point, the police had identified the location of the suspect at a gambling venue, and her appearance there seemed to take her by surprise. >> Like Kimberly? >> No, I'm not. >> Hello there. >> Oh, excuse me. Sorry. >> What's your name? >> Huh? >> What's your name? >> Why? What's going on? >> Kimberly? >> No. >> Go ahead and step up. >> Why? What's the matter? >> Go and grab your stuff. Do you need a cash Do you need a cash out or something? >> What's going on? >> Don't go anywhere. >> I'm not. I'm sitting right here. I'm just getting a cigarette. >> What's your name? >> My name is Kim. >> Yes, okay. So, that that wasn't hard, was it? >> No, it wasn't, sir. I just didn't I just didn't know what was going on. >> Okay, so why do you think we need to talk to you? >> I have no idea. >> Just at Walmart? >> Uh, yeah. >> What happened at Walmart? >> Well, I was in there and I was buying some stuff and then um that guy some guy came up to me and asked me said something about not paying for something or something, but I have money to pay in my purse. >> Got you. Can I see that You can go ahead and set that soda down. Do you want to put that sweatshirt on? >> Yes, please. Thank you. >> It seemed the woman had already guessed what had happened, yet to her it was nothing serious, and she appeared remarkably calm even while being detained. >> We'll get to that. >> Okay. I was It's stupid is what I did. It was really stupid. >> I'm not sure what that is yet, but this point, they want to see you over there, so I'm going to take you to >> Okay, let me see your hands behind your back. >> Montgomery 126 What's here? 135 has a female detained for 125. >> So, Kimberly, what's your last name? >> Green. >> And what's your middle? >> Um That's somebody you just brought down here. >> Hello. >> It means >> Kimberly. >> Oh, sorry. What did you say? >> What's your middle initial? >> It's really B. >> B? >> B. >> B. B boy. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Do you have an ID in there? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay, where is it at? >> Um if you open my purse in my bag up, it should be right there in my wallet. >> Your birthday? What did you think about her attitude of admitting guilt? It was truly astonishing that even after witnessing what the cameras had recorded, that attitude did not change. >> Pictures are just going to be for Lamar, it's not going to go anywhere else. It's just for us and the other Lamar's, all right? >> Where are you staying at around here or where you going? >> Where are you from? >> Panama. >> Recognize that name? >> Kind of, sort of. Are you Cody? >> No. That's funny, that's funny. Yeah, he's my cousin. >> Megan? >> I am not her cousin. >> We are going to be trespassing you today, so that means you can't come to any Walmart across the country, includes the Sam's Club, parking lots, and the gas stations. So, if you're caught on or in any of those places, you can be sent to jail for a criminal trespassing, okay? >> I got a question. Okay, I just took that. know if I took that wrong or if you said you're making me trespassing or you're putting me to where I am trespassing if I come back. >> You're being trespassed. >> banned today. >> I'm banned today. >> After you leave here, if you come back, you're criminally trespassing. >> Okay, I'm sorry. I didn't understand that earlier. You said it. >> Exactly. But yeah. >> Even after everything was explained, she showed no sense of shame. Instead, she shifted the focus, raising new issues about the items she had already paid for. >> Well, what do I do about like the balance of the stuff that I didn't pay for? Like the balance cuz I paid like $70 for the stuff. >> That's If you have somebody that can come get it, >> Cuz like No, because she said there's that, but then there's that stuff equals $70 for the stuff right there. >> The tags that you used >> Yeah, that >> Yeah, we're not going to refund you for that. You used that to steal it. >> Okay, that's That's what I was trying to figure out. I didn't know what was going on. >> Yeah. If you use other tags and put them on other tags to scan them as something cheaper, we don't refund you for that cuz you're using it for the theft. >> Okay, I I wasn't But I I just want to apologize. I >> What does that have to do with time? Time will tell. >> Okay, and then that's stuff's my stuff that I bought from Dollar Tree. So, why is it here? >> Well, because you put stuff into a gray tote. >> No, I know that wasn't me. >> in the tote that the other lady gave me. >> Yeah, I that was sitting at the service desk. You can watch the lady do it. It was in there the whole time I went >> You put bags into it from here. >> And yeah, and I took them out and gave them to you inside the cart before I grabbed it out. You can watch the cameras when we were over here in the other thing. I took the bags out, my stuff was in the cart, and I just took what I got from the Dollar Tree with me out there. I promise you I'm not I'm not lying to you about it. >> We're going to check it just to make sure. >> Yeah. >> At the same time, police returned to the van outside to recover the items the woman had taken. It could be said that the inside of the vehicle was astonishing. >> Audi. No, that's my purse. That's >> So, what was in the tote that you had? >> That my That's my tote. This is >> What was it What was inside the tote? >> Right. Well, what was in there? >> to see the inside of the tote. >> Inside of the tote? >> Inside of the tote, yes. The one The one that you scanned. Can I open this back door? >> Uh no, a lot of stuff is going to fall out. My mom's stuff. >> Okay. Where did you put the tote? >> Hey. >> Can we see what you put in there, yeah? >> Can we Can we slide it? Can we open up the other door? >> Huh? >> Can I open the other door? >> Uh yeah. >> All right. This tote right here. I can't reach inside your car to get it. Is there stolen stuff inside the tote? Like, don't waste my time. Ma'am. >> That's a yes. >> That's a yes. >> No. >> We're getting pressing charges on you as well. >> Just Just grab that out of there. >> It's just some clothes. >> Okay, so where's all this stuff? Where's all of Kimber Kimberly's stuff? >> some of this? >> This is like I said, this is the only >> We have a feeling that she put some stuff in it. >> Okay, you want to >> That's the only thing I know of. My purse has stayed in the van, so >> Okay. >> cuz I took my wallet in. I'll go in and pay for this. It's just some shirts >> Go ahead. >> and towels. >> Take the tote out. >> You guys need to come back for anything? >> The total value of the unpaid merchandise was finalized at approximately $80 below the felony threshold. Police decided to issue a citation without making an arrest. Kimberly was returned her identification, given a court date, and ordered to leave the area. The case concluded with a permanent ban and a retail theft record entered into the system. A calm attitude and partial cooperation did not erase the evidence. Once actions were captured on camera, denial or indifference changed nothing. Every decision still carried legal consequences.
