A call that would cost her thousands of dollars. Someone called claiming she has a warrant for her arrest and owes money. >> And it was this very authoritative male voice going, "This is Detective So-and-so with the San Antonio Police Department. >> Scammers will often claim to be a government agency. >> So then I get on the phone with this attorney who um tells me he's working with me to get the fine reduced. >> Scammers will often pressure people to stay on the phone while making a payment and giving instructions on how to use a Bitcoin or crypto ATM. >> From this point forward this call cannot end. You have to stay on the line. And so he tells me to get you know, go get the money. >> A reminder, no government agency will request payment through cryptocurrency. Kathy shares her story so others can recognize the signs. >> I want them to stop and take a breath and think. Understand that if they say you can't end a phone call, you can always end a phone call.
