He was charged with driving under the influence possession of marijuana and methadone and fleeing and attempting to elude. Records also showed his license and registration were suspended. April 8th, 2023. Shortly afternoon in Los Angeles, officers began pursuing a silver Chevrolet pickup believed to carry an attempted murder suspect. The chase stretched across city streets as the damaged truck refused to yield. >> And and you know, when it comes to a carjacking that you might be willing to pull your pursuit back just a little bit. Yes. Okay. Look, look, you might not. You're going to have a bit of a delay bruise. Now we've got it into oncoming traffic and he's on the rim. So we did see some smoke earlier. We thought maybe the driver had hit a spike strip and so now that he's going the other direction, we can see that. So this vehicle is going to be uh not controllable. There's no rubber on that front tire that we can see. >> And you're putting those officers at risk. >> Right. Okay. So that is something that for for viewers who might be watching um the the there are reports there is the possibility that this suspect murder suspect is armed. Officers are not going to stop pursuing as you heard from Bruce Thomas our u law enforcement expert. But at the same time uh there are a lot of variables that must be considered to protect the public um and protect officers. So now we have another uh U-turn possibly here. And again, that would be traditionally a place where you might try a pit, but you don't want to necessarily do that if the person driving is uh a a hostage, if that person has been carjacked. And Bruce, you made another very valid point. They've run the plates. They'll know uh with good certainty probably, I would guess, how the suspect might be related to the driver. If they are authorities, uh there he is. There you could almost see the the traffic that was ready to go. There it is. Now you can see that other wheel. That's what I was talking about, Bruce. It's really started to list and now it's actually at a 90° angle, almost a 90° angle to the direction the vehicle is wanting to go. So that's going to become a massive issue for the vehicle to continue to go forward. Uh it is going to start to get incredibly hot and it's quite frankly going to be causing a lot of damage to the road as well. Now it's broken off. You saw that wheel has broken off and that's going to make it even harder to turn and it's going to make that vehicle even hotter as far as potentially starting a fire carjacking of some sort. That's going to create a very very uh scary situation for the driver. Uh if it is an ally Bruce, they would like if they if they know that Oh, wow. Now we've have damage. Look at this. The vehicle is trying to force his way through and now we're under that overpass. People are going to try to get out of the way. You saw that vehicle just drive. That is an expression of the desperation it seems. Okay. So now you've got somebody opening the door. That is a person opening the passenger side door. The vehicle is virtually disabled. No right wheel, but law enforcement right behind. So we are now going to see what's going to happen. As the person had a car door open, somebody is backing up here. They've bailed out and now they're on the run. They're trying to get into another vehicle and they have. There are two women running away from the vehicle. Now we have a different pursuit. The suspect, it seems, has jumped into that vehicle. Maybe had been communicating with that because that person backed up and opened the door and got in. The two women ran away. So, this now looks like some sort of accomplice in this SU. Yeah, they may be heading back north to get back over into that Westchester area or maybe even that area south of downtown. Um, but I think LAPD is definitely weighing the opportunities to do a pit maneuver and end this pursuit. >> The we're getting word maybe they might be heading in the direction of Long Beach. Sometimes it's just it's difficult to to see, but they're on Vermont. And so now you see that person trying to move out of the way very very slow now. very have have really gotten a lot slower here. Um the the the speed is going to be affected by the inability of anything on that back. So now we have a person getting out. This is so dangerous. The person is out. The vehicle is now not being checked. So that is So Bruce, there were two people in. He was wearing a white t-shirt. That's the suspect that we saw. So he's taken off. One person is running away. This person is now on the run. That is, we believe, the murder suspect who initially got into uh that Mazda and he had jumped somehow into the front seat. He is running from authorities down the sidewalk. Uh they will be able to know where he is. Okay, now he's got his he's got his hands up, but still running. So, let's see what ends up happening here. He is running out of gas, it seems, uh in this circumstance, getting exhausted. He's coming up to someone's house. Now, this is a potentially dangerous situation if he can get into that house. They have two men in front who have moved out of the way. So, officers are now uh trying to get the suspect to get on the ground. These two people have walked away. The suspect is looks to be in front of the garage behind those two vehicles there. They're trying to get him away from that, I would assume, Bruce. And it looks as if he is he's refusing to obey a commands. He is certainly not getting down on the ground. You can see his hands up, but he is not doing what they say at this point. You see less than lethal there in the man's hand in the back, it looks like, or could be a green weapon there. Uh, now, so some of the officers do have guns trained on this person, but he's not turning around. Bruce, he should he be on the ground now or turned around? What do you think the the officers are trying to get? Four individuals were eventually taken into custody after switching vehicles and attempting to flee on foot. Authorities confirmed no serious injuries were reported. The primary suspect now faces charges connected to attempted murder and evading law enforcement. Late night on April 25th, 2025, Arkansas State Police and North Little Rock police engaged a white one-tonon truck dragging metal through city streets. The driver was arrested at the scene after officers removed him from the truck. He is expected to face charges including fleeing reckless driving and resisting arrest. Investigators are also reviewing potential damage caused during the pursuit. On May 1st, 2025, a purple Dodge Neon with defective tag lights caught the attention of Arkansas State Police on KD Road. When emergency lights activated, the driver waved casually but refused to stop, triggering a short pursuit. >> Go. Stay on your toes. This one. Stay on your toes. Additional counts were added for no seat belt and expired registration. January 19th, 2026, Baltimore police responded to multiple calls at an apartment complex on Park Avenue involving a welfare check and reports of an armed individual.
