On July 19th, 2024, a suspected drug investigation suddenly spilled onto Interstate 555 when a black Nissan Altima refused to stop for Arkansas law enforcement. Troopers quickly realized the driver was not interested in a conversation, especially after reports surfaced that bags of marijuana had allegedly been tossed from the car during the getaway. >> Speed 110 underneath the overpass at Southwest Drive. Can I help you? >> The pursuit ended with the driver, Daylon Hall, being taken into custody after refusing commands to exit the vehicle. He was later transported to the Craighead County Detention Center while deputies recovered suspected marijuana connected to the chase. Investigators said Hall faced multiple charges, including felony fleeing in a vehicle, while officers also documented reckless driving allegations tied to speeds topping 100 mph. February 25th, 2023, started with something as simple as a missing license plate on a motorcycle in Alexander, Arkansas. Instead of stopping for officers, the rider twisted the throttle and turned Interstate traffic into a rolling headache for everyone involved. >> The 2000 7 118 There's still left on the truck. I'm good. I'm good. >> STOP. STOP. HEY. GET ON THE GROUND. [screaming] HEY, GET ON THE GROUND. GET ON THE GROUND. GET ON THE GROUND NOW. GET ON THE GROUND. GET ON THE GROUND. GET ON THE GROUND. The damaged motorcycle even kept sliding forward long enough to collide with an Alexander Police Department patrol vehicle, adding another expensive problem to an already terrible afternoon for the rider. On October 9th, 2024, bail bondsman tracking a man with multiple felony warrants spotted him leaving the area in a blue Chevrolet pickup truck and immediately alerted deputies nearby. The moment Arkansas State Police activated emergency lights behind the truck, the driver reportedly decided that county jail could wait a little longer. >> GET ON THE GROUND NOW. I pulled over to see what he wanted. He started shooting at me. See what you did to my car? >> What? >> Get in. >> Oh. >> The driver was eventually arrested and booked into the Saline County Jail after investigators accused him of fleeing, reckless driving, and weaving into oncoming traffic during the 6-mile pursuit. Authorities also added charges including driving on a suspended license, fictitious tags, and no insurance while troopers documented minor damage to a patrol vehicle from the tactical stop, November 11th, 2023 became unusually dramatic after a driver speeding through a construction zone decided he would rather lead troopers home than pull over on the interstate. Even after officers repeatedly ordered him to stop, the man calmly announced he was just going to his house, which is not how traffic stops usually work. >> Pull over. You are being pulled over. Stop your vehicle. >> Still rolling on the wrong one. 176 now. Give me a one sec. >> Get back in your car, bro. I need you to follow me to my house. It's an emergency. Investigators said the incident began after he was clocked driving 83 mph in a 50 mph construction zone, and the situation eventually led to fleeing-related charges along with additional violations connected to the pursuit. August 6th, 2022, turned into a dusty rural pursuit after the driver of a black Chevrolet Silverado ignored an Arkansas State Police traffic stop and accelerated away instead. Troopers watched the truck weave through traffic and head toward isolated back roads, a strong hint that the occupants already had an escape plan in mind. >> Go and shut the truck off. Shut the truck off. Step on back here. Warning, took off on me. Warner, both leaving. Both of them went to the woods. I'll be 10-6 here with the vehicle. One of them went in the woods by the electric store. The other one's going back towards log cabin. Come on out, Morris. >> I don't see him, though. Tanya, come out. Okay. What do you run for? Huh? Come on. Give me your hand. She got caught in the briars. Okay. All right. There's your warrants, you put them on. Nope. Walk right up to him. Tanya, what else you got on you? Where's your purse at? Okay. Stand right there. Hold on. Here, you got a briar on you. Turn around so I can pull it off. Put the tailgate down. Sit down, Tanya. What'd you run for? Do you? From where? Do you? I looked at your record. You have zero warrants. >> Uh-huh. >> You have zero warrants. You don't even have a warrant. >> I don't have a prior history on my record. I don't understand anything. >> Okay. So, why'd he run? >> He's got warrants from >> What else he got in there? >> Uh >> Where's the meth? >> That was on him. I don't know what happened. I Me and my son, we had went to where he was working at and our son still where he's was working and we were headed to Poplar Bluff to go get a motorcycle he bought and we got pulled over. >> Yeah, 35. >> So, you don't have any meth at all? >> No, sir. >> That plan ended badly once both occupants abandoned the Silverado and sprinted into the woods where troopers eventually tracked them down one by one. Authorities secured the truck, detained both suspects, and wrapped up the chase without anyone successfully disappearing into the tree line despite the attempted vehicle and foot escape. On September 27th, 2025, an Arkansas trooper sitting on a traffic stop heard his radar suddenly scream with a reading far above the speed limit on United States Highway 167. Seconds later, a white Chevrolet sedan blasted past at more than 90 miles per hour and the driver apparently had no intention of slowing down for anyone. >> TVI Hot Springs, go ahead. >> Send an ambulance. He's wrecked out, rolled over. >> Can you get out? NEED TO GET OUT. YOU NEED TO GET OUT. GET OUT. >> OKAY, I'm a police >> Get out. >> Okay, I'm a police >> Well, running ain't going to do any good. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Come over here. Get on the ground. >> You can't see my [ __ ] LICENSE PLATE. >> GET ON THE GROUND. >> CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS. IT'S ON VIDEO. >> You're right, Turn around. Put your hands BEHIND YOUR BACK. YOU FAILED TO STOP. GIVE ME YOUR OTHER HAND. Why didn't you stop? Yeah, I'm good, man. Thank you. What's your name? Joseph Henderson? >> Joseph Henderson was later transported to a hospital for evaluation before being booked into the Sheridan Detention Center on a long list of charges tied to the pursuit. Investigators accused him of felony fleeing, reckless driving, possession of marijuana, refusal to submit to arrest, expired tags, and driving 107 mph in a 60 mph zone after the violent rollover crash. April 10th, 2022, became a muddy mess after an Arkansas trooper spotted a van crossing the center line on a gravel road and attempted a traffic stop. Instead of pulling over, the driver accelerated into the back roads where loose gravel and bad decisions quickly became a dangerous combination. >> C-33 jump for 10-24. >> Show me your SHOW ME YOUR SHOW ME YOUR RIGHT NOW. GET OUT. GET OF THE CAR. ON YOUR KNEES. ON YOUR KNEES. HANDS ON YOUR HEAD. CROSS YOUR ANKLES. What are you running for? Both hands. Both hands on your back. I don't care. Stand up. What are you running for? What are you running for? I'm on 15. Got ID on you? Got any weapons on you? I'll work on your hands, though. >> The chase ended with the suspect in custody after losing control on the rough roadway while troopers sorted through the muddy aftermath beside the damaged van. Officers later identified the driver as Patrick Ramirez Hernandez from Houston, >> Texas. >> And investigators also documented contact damage involving patrol vehicles during the pursuit. On July 1st, 2022, a driver with outstanding warrants decided running through fields and blackberry patches sounded better than dealing with Arkansas State Police. Troopers quickly realized the suspect was trying very hard to avoid going back to jail over what officers described as relatively minor warrants. >> Yeah, I'm going to left on 37th and 37th. We're going to left on highway 367 right here by the library. >> Okay. Going to the parking lot to the library. Okay. I'm going to put it in this driveway. Okay. 321 321 321 321 321 321 2110 19 that way. I'm passing the library. All right, 2110 19. What's the address? 367 we're in a subdivision. What is the address? >> I'm looking at the guy in the mirror. Look like he's running with a 219 violation. >> I think we're about to get him. >> Be careful. I don't care if he's doing anything with his hands. >> Something crazy with his hands. >> 10-50. Yeah, put your hands up. >> Put your [ __ ] hands up now. >> Okay, put your hands up. >> Put your hands up. >> Put your hands up. >> Stupid, stupid. Stupid. >> On the ground now. On the [ __ ] ground. Get on the ground. >> I'm trying to do something, officer. >> Got one >> Got one white male, dark shirt, shorts. Jumping fences. >> Going across the pasture. >> the pasture here. >> Yeah. Thanksgiving 2001. >> What did you say his name is again? >> Seth. >> Can you give us a description of the subject you're after one more time, please? >> Seth Stewart Henderson. >> His name is Seth Stewart Henderson. If you can query that, Seth Henderson, white male. >> White male. >> How old is he, about? >> Uh 18 to 20. >> Approximately 18 to 20. >> The driver was eventually caught hiding after fleeing into the woods wearing shorts, which turned the blackberry thorns into an unofficial second arresting officer. Deputies later explained the man likely escalated his legal problems from simple warrants into felony fleeing charges. While the pursuit also created additional headaches involving the vehicle towing and arguments between family members at the scene. A stolen truck investigation in Arkansas took an unusual turn after the fleeing driver practically suggested the perfect place for troopers to stop him. Officers followed the truck through rural roads while the suspect drove recklessly enough to force other drivers off the roadway during the daytime pursuit. >> Anyway, take over. Clarksville, can you see if RPD wants to take over? >> 10-4. Clarksville, 4 County 1 1 1 take over take over. >> They're not advising they're not saying anything. >> Dylan Polk County are is RPD needing us to take over? >> Preparing for RPD needing us. You guys can clear the net. Copy that. >> The chase ended after troopers forced the truck into a field and arrested the driver without any further escape attempts. While nearby property damage and fence repairs became part of the cleanup afterward. Authorities later identified the suspect as Jonathan Peter Brown, and deputies noted the stolen truck pursuit also involved reckless driving complaints and an outstanding failure to appear warrant. September 12th, 2022 started with an Arkansas State Police trooper spotting a motorcycle rider speeding aggressively through traffic. The rider immediately abandoned any idea of cooperating and launched into a high-speed escape that quickly pushed beyond 130 mph. >> Okay. Okay, bye. >> All right, bye. >> PULL OVER NOW. >> Troopers continued tracking the motorcycle for miles as the rider repeatedly weaved through traffic and ignored emergency signals during the dangerous pursuit. The chase eventually concluded after sustained monitoring by Arkansas State Police with investigators highlighting the extreme risks created by the rider's reckless lane changes and excessive speed. On August 25th, 2023, Trooper McCord noticed a silver Toyota Camry behaving strangely on Interstate 30, especially after for occupants appeared unusually nervous during a routine traffic stop attempt. The situation escalated instantly when the Camry stopped at a gas station and then suddenly blasted away through the parking lot before the trooper could even finish the stop. >> And 36 are out. Final stop is the show of Palm Springs. 10-37 Got one on foot. He had a house trying to jump the fence. He had a blue cap on. He had a backpack. >> Uh-uh, GET OUT. [screaming] GET ON THE GROUND. Subject on gunpoint. GET ON GUN Get on ground, dude. >> Want to jump the fence? >> Come around. Let me see your hands. Just keep your hands up, okay? All right. On the ground. All the way. I know it's hot. Get all the way on the ground. Okay? >> I'm going to go to jail. >> I don't know. Just stay right there, okay? >> I ain't even driving. I'm just in the car, man. >> Okay. So, but can you hear me? No? Yeah. All right. Here's what I want you to do, okay? I got to keep eyes on him, right? I'm by myself. So, what I want you to do, while I can see your hands, you're going to crawl out that passenger side, and you're going to come over here with him. Do you understand me? Don't grab anything. Don't reach anything. Do you understand? Yeah. Go ahead, set it down. I swear don't. Don't reach. Okay. I'm just letting you know. Okay. Okay, go ahead. You can do that. That's fine. We're at the roundabout on Windermere, got two at gunpoint. Go ahead, lay down with him, okay? So, what I want you both to do is put your hands behind your back and don't make any sudden movements, okay? All the way on the ground. I know it's hot. You won't be there long. All the way. >> The pursuit came to an end at a dead-end street, where officers boxed the vehicle in and arrested driver Stephon Staple, while passenger Terrence Bailey was detained and later released at the scene. Investigators charged Staple with felony fleeing, reckless driving, driving on a suspended license, careless driving, and impeding traffic after another passenger escaped on foot carrying a large bag and was never identified. April 8th, 2022 featured one of the slowest police pursuits imaginable after a man driving with his hazard lights on calmly refused to stop because he wanted to see his mother before going to jail. Troopers followed the vehicle at painfully low speeds while the driver openly admitted he already knew there was a warrant waiting for him. >> 13 >> Well, I'm at Downey's requesting my assistance. I got a vehicle they're trying to stop. It's not stopping. He's got the flashers on. I'm right here behind him on Highway 98 coming into Waldo. All right, pursuing trying to stop. I've been trying to stop him since McNeil. They're not stopping. They just slowed down at the stop sign. Uh we're heading into Waldo. Waldo rolling 13 miles an hour. 10-4. Yes, I'm right here. I'm right here in Waldo. I'm right on the line. Going to just stop. 10-15. >> Hey, show me YOUR HANDS NOW! PUT YOUR HANDS UP NOW! PUT YOUR HANDS UP! PUT YOUR HANDS UP NOW! TURN AROUND! TURN AROUND! GET ON YOUR KNEES! Get on your knees now. Get down. Get on the ground. Get on the ground now. >> Yes, sir. >> Lie on the ground. >> Yes, sir. Watch my back. >> Put your hands behind your back now. >> Yes, sir. Did you swallow anything? >> No, sir. >> Lighter. >> Is what it >> I'll get you a lighter. What is it? >> I was working on my car. >> Did you pick whatever that was up? >> I got some keys. >> Okay. That's what he threw right there, whatever landed right there. >> Yeah, I got >> The car >> I got these. I'm just making sure you didn't throw anything else. >> Well, my cell phone's on top of it. Go here. Yes, >> Why wouldn't you stop? >> Well, look, I take a ass whooping every time I get stopped. That's why I got the all with me. I was taking the car to the house. I got a bench warrant. That's why I'm done this. >> You got anything else on you? >> No, sir. Yes, sir. >> Roll over. Roll over. >> Yes, sir. >> Check it. You got anything in your car? >> No, sir. There's nothing in the car. >> Where's your dentures? >> Yes, sir. That's why I come to this world. Three more times. >> Drop your cigarette for me. Drop your cigarette. Drop your cigarette for me. >> Love you, Mom. >> Drop your cigarette. >> Yes, sir. >> No, ma'am. Go this way. >> I cannot see. >> Huh? >> I cannot see. Sorry about that. >> Daniel Scott Wilson was eventually arrested outside his mother's home after officers recovered suspected narcotics paraphernalia and questioned him about methamphetamine use. Investigators said Wilson admitted he had a bench warrant and was preparing to enter rehab while deputies also documented additional evidence allegedly tossed from the vehicle during the pursuit. November 22nd, 2022 became a federal problem on wheels after officers attempted to stop a woman wanted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives for alleged weapons charges. The moment she learned about the extradition warrant involving accusations tied to an unregistered firearm and a tampered serial number, she reportedly chose acceleration over surrender. >> How you doing, ma'am? Trooper State Police. Do you have your driver's license with you? >> Yes, I do, sir. >> All righty. Clutch it 88. I'll be right back. >> You have two warrants, ma'am. >> My one is in Oklahoma and I just >> Ma'am, ma'am, ma'am, ma'am. There's two warrants and they do want you. They just called. >> Warrant, where? I don't have time. >> Please, I can call my mom. >> Ma'am, I don't have time Ma'am, I don't have >> What's the warrant for? >> Ma'am, come on out of the car. >> What's the warrant for? >> Ma'am, don't make >> Let me call my mom, please. >> No. I'm going to let you call your mom. >> Please, can I call my mom? >> me break this window. >> Please, I'm not going to go nowhere. Can I call my mom? >> Ma'am, come out of the car. Step out of the vehicle. >> Each one of She just stepped out. She took out her phone. >> The pursuit stretched through multiple roads as officers coordinated around the increasingly dangerous driving behavior while trying to avoid putting civilians at risk. Despite the growing police presence, the woman ultimately escaped capture and was believed to have made it back to Memphis before officers could successfully stop the vehicle. On July 2nd, 2022, Arkansas State Police chased a fleeing driver through residential streets after the suspect ignored attempts to pull over and started blasting through stop signs. Neighbors suddenly found themselves watching a high-speed pursuit tear through narrow neighborhood roads that were never designed for this kind of chaos. >> I want him right now. Send by 30th in Ohio. >> Hey, SHOW ME YOUR HANDS NOW. >> SHOW ME YOUR HANDS NOW. >> COPY. >> HEY, slide back. We want to I got you. Slide back. Slide back. Let me get some dollars for you. I need you to slide back. Why did you slide your foot back? I will. Why did you put back? Hey, just have a seat. No, sit in my car. >> The chase came to an abrupt ending when the fleeing driver failed to stop at an intersection and crashed into a stop sign before officers rushed in to secure the scene. Authorities quickly detained the driver afterward while investigators documented the reckless driving allegations connected to the pursuit through the residential area. October 27th, 2022 proved once again that traffic stops can turn unpredictable in seconds after an Arkansas trooper pulled over a vehicle because of a license plate cover issue. Before the stop could even properly begin, another driver slammed into the rear of the patrol vehicle on the entrance ramp. >> 42 to Adam 11. Kelly. I just got rear-ended. All right, where are you at? 6:30 West at 6A. Oh. You okay? You okay? >> Yes, I'm okay. >> Okay. Well, I have a cell Okay. Just stay there. All right, sir. >> 42 you need a deal kitchen? Negative. Go ahead and start 10-11. >> I just got rear-ended. Are you okay? >> Yeah, I'm good. >> All right, ma'am. >> Oh my god. What happened? >> It's okay. Do you have a license on you? Registration? >> Yes. Yes. Yes. >> 42 are we doing for your unit and the ambulance? I believe my unit's fine. Uh just another vehicle. I'll give you a 10-28. >> Hey, do you have a license and a registration on you? >> Well, the >> I think I hit you from getting rear-ended from her. >> I know, but why did you pull me over? >> So, I pulled you over cuz it looked like you didn't have a tag. >> I got >> I I've seen your type of plate. >> Yeah. >> Do you have a license and stuff on you? >> Yeah. >> Yeah, I tried to pull the I pulled this car over and this this car rear-ended me. She She stopped on uh it it's an entrance ramp right here, but she was way behind me. So, she had plenty of time to see me. So, you'll probably have to work the wreck. >> Yes. >> The reason I stopped you is cuz you had that cover over it, so it looks like you don't have that the a tag on there. That's the reason I stopped you. Are you okay? Did I hit you at all? >> Yeah, my back is hurting and my head is hurting. >> Okay, did you hit your head or something? >> No. >> Do you want an ambulance to come? Okay. I'll go ahead and get this information. Do you have insurance information? >> Yeah. Here, I'll I'll get it to you. >> Just Stay right here. He's going to get He's going to He's getting some for me. Just stay >> Stay right here. >> You You can stay right here. Did Did you not see me here with my lights on? >> No, he had He did not have the lights on. >> I had my lights on. >> Wait a minute. Excuse me. Wait a minute. I have to think now. I came down here. >> [snorts] >> I couldn't I mean I I have no clue. >> Okay. >> Wait a minute. We Stop. Make his right blinker come on. All right. Wait a minute. I think he did. There is There was no way I could not stop. I could not stop. >> The warning 4688301512. I got her license. You going to the hospital? Do you want an ambulance for you? Okay. >> I need to speak to her. Everything's okay. I'll have the whole intersection shut down. >> When I just stepped out the door >> Yeah. >> an hour ago and then >> Yes. >> What happened to your vehicle right now? I can't talk to talk to you right now. >> Yeah, I'll be able to drive that back to the bay, though. >> No sir, you cannot. >> Try to get it I mean, obviously it's going to have to have some repair done to it. >> Yeah. It sucks. I just got it out of the shop. >> Did you really get Yeah, from that pursuit. Yeah. >> Yeah or no? >> No. I don't think No, there it is. It's probably going to pop back out though. Which I don't do more damage to. Try again. I guess I need to send him my my video or Just hang Just mark it as a uh Go ahead and mark it as a uh >> The aftermath left both vehicles damaged while officers checked on everyone involved and [music] worked to sort out exactly how the collision happened despite the patrol lights being activated. Investigators later continued the original stop involving the obscured license plate while the rear end crash itself became the main event of an otherwise routine enforcement stop. April 4th, 2022 turned into a tense silent pursuit as an Arkansas State Police Trooper chased a fleeing vehicle through winding rural roads without any radio traffic or narration. With only engine noise and tire sounds filling the video, the suspect continued pushing through curves at dangerous speeds while the patrol car stayed close behind. >> The pursuit ended when the suspect lost control entering a curve and crashed hard along the roadside before the trooper slowed to secure the wreck scene. The video closed shortly afterward with the damaged vehicle resting off the roadway, underscoring how quickly reckless speeding on rural roads can spiral into disaster. On January 17th, 2025, a late-night speed check near Interstate 40 turned explosive after a vehicle blasted past an Arkansas trooper at 90 mph near the casino area. Instead of slowing down once emergency lights came on, the driver allegedly accelerated beyond 135 mph and started swerving through traffic with passengers inside the car. >> ANYBODY ELSE IN THE VEHICLE? DRIVER, PUT YOUR HANDS OUT THE VEHICLE. RAISE THEM HIGH! DO NOT MOVE! DO YOU UNDERSTAND? DRIVER, PUT YOUR HANDS OUT the window SO I CAN SEE THEM. KEEP THEM HIGH! DO NOT MOVE! DRIVER, PUT YOUR HANDS OUT THE WINDOW, HIGH, AND DO NOT MOVE! >> CRAWL OUT ON YOUR BELLY! CRAWL OUT ON YOUR BELLY! YOU GOT IT. YOU GOT IT. COME ON, JUST DO WHAT I TOLD YOU. COME CRAWL OUT ON YOUR BELLY. YOU GOT TO GIVE ME SOME HELP. KEEP ROLLING. KEEP ROLLING. >> LET ME OUT, PLEASE. >> Keep rolling. >> KEEP ROLLING. >> KEEP ROLLING. KEEP ROLLING. >> Come on. >> Do not move. >> Come on. >> Do not move. >> Come on. >> Use your hands. USE YOUR HANDS. >> GOOD. YEAH. DO NOT MOVE. >> SIR, MY ARM FEEL LIKE IT'S BROKE. >> DO NOT RUN. >> OKAY. My arm feel like it's broke. >> That's fine. >> My arm feel like it's broke. >> Probably is. Which one? >> Hey, what about that window there? >> Nope, ain't got that far yet. Okay. All right, let me know if anything start. >> Driver Christian White and passenger Kaiysha Johnson were both taken into custody and transported to a Memphis hospital after the violent stop sent the vehicle into the guardrail. Investigators later accused White of felony fleeing, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, fictitious tags, speeding, suspended license violations, and marijuana possession. While Johnson also faced charges tied to marijuana possession and an open alcohol container inside the vehicle. The road finally cleared up after this chase, but situations like this are exactly why troopers never assume any stop will stay routine for long.
