September 19th, 2024 provided a fiery finale for a stolen Kia Rio in the streets of Independence. William Bryson decided that flipping his car and fighting the law was a solid, if not painful, plan for his Thursday. >> Still westbound through White Speed 70. We're straddling number one and number two. He's missing a driver's side, so someone can get all the other ones. Oh god. All right, he's sparking pretty good and we're going to turn. My hands behind your head, sir. My hand's here. >> Please, sir. I can't breathe. Take that. Get off me. Please help me. Sir, please. Please help me, sir. My hands on my back, sir. Please. Sir, please, sir. >> 25. We're fighting. >> Sir, I can take sir, please help me, sir. >> The Kia Rio gave its all before striking a median and ending its life as a literal fireball on the side of the road. It was forced into a high-speed sprint on shredded tires until it simply could not take another mile. The vehicle's final act was a dramatic flip that left it mangled and discarded by the very person who took it. Monday, January 30th, 2023 put a stolen SUV on a collision course with Arkansas State Police at highway speeds. The driver allegedly refused to stop, ran near 100 mph, and headed toward a busy interchange as troopers worked to isolate the vehicle. >> Got it. Looks like a green. I don't know if it's somebody else. >> Yeah, 51. Car right in front of you Pit pit pit pit pit pit >> pitted right after the 11. here. STAY POLICE. GET OUT OF THE CAR WITH YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR. Bubble again. >> A police dog was used to help secure the suspects after they initially refused to exit. Two individuals were taken into custody for motor vehicle theft, and the K9 team was credited with preventing a longer foot chase. A routine traffic stop in Canton took a flight of fancy on April 26th, 2024. Rifad Ahmed decided that a conversation with the Ohio State Patrol was the perfect time to demonstrate his complete lack of a plan. >> How do you say your first name? >> Raf Amed. >> Rafat, >> can you put in my uh registration number? >> Yeah, we'll get that later. All right. How much have you had to drink tonight? >> I haven't had anything to drink. You haven't had anything to drink? >> No. >> Okay. All right. The suspect's vehicle was last seen performing an impressive yet entirely unprompted impression of a low-flying aircraft. The sedan suffered greatly for Mr. Ahmed's sins, ending its life as a crumpled heap of metal on an exit ramp. He now has a 5-year driver's license suspension to help him memorize the local bus routes. On April 21st, 2022, Corporal Dwight Griffith conducted what should have been a standard traffic stop for improper passing on State Highway 25. The encounter turned tense when the corporal detected a strong odor of marijuana, and the driver adamantly refused to exit the vehicle for a legal search. >> Out of the vehicle, >> we're going on record that I'm not concern. >> No, you can say please, sir. I'm not answering you please. I'm telling you step out of your ve. >> I know my law. I know my rules. And I arrest. You're under arrest. [gasps] >> Turn down. >> Let me call my lawyer right now. You got him. >> Yeah. I don't know. Thank you. There. >> You got him. >> Yeah. You got both on you. >> The combative suspect was eventually secured after a local citizen stopped his own car to assist the officer in the physical struggle. This brave intervention allowed the corporal to safely handcuff the individual and place him in the patrol unit. For his selfless actions in aiding law enforcement, the citizen was later honored with a formal commendation from the state police. July 2nd, 2023 began with a report of a stolen blue Scat Pack Challenger weaving through the streets of Atlanta. The situation took a dangerous turn when a passenger suddenly leapt from the moving vehicle as the driver accelerated away. We are passing north side. Oh, he's losing it. Semi. All right, he got it back. Still uh still on West Wesley. Still on West Wesley up there. Be careful. >> We're good. Coming up to the interstate here in a second. Atlanta. >> All right. Law enforcement recovered a backpack filled with vehicle theft tools and several firearms from the abandoned car. Detectives have placed a hold on the vehicle for further forensic processing. A routine day on State Highway 34 turned chaotic on October 5th, 2024. Chaita Kavon Mloud decided that a police presence was merely a suggestion to drive faster and in the wrong direction >> right Yeah. All right. Go pick. Go pick. Go pick. Take her out. Take her out. Don't let her drive the wrong way like that. Hold this channel for him. >> Channel 446. >> You got to get as quick as you can. You got a tractor trailer coming your way. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. back. >> The takeaway here is that a sedan with two shredded tires will never outrun a radio and several determined deputies. Running into the woods only adds a cardio workout to your list of impending legal problems. It is much easier to just pull over when the lights start flashing. A quiet Friday in Alberta turned chaotic when Charles William Moore spotted a police officer approaching his home. He immediately hammered the throttle of his vehicle reaching speeds of 90 mph while tearing through residential neighborhoods and crowded parking lots. The 12-minute chase only ended when he tried to hide inside a local auto parts store. >> 301 point trailer park. >> All right, 301. He's coming back. Back on 98 to the con Three. >> Get up on him. Coming back out on 59. ARROW 59 >> Moore managed to find himself in the Baldwin County Jail with no bond to his name. His bank account will also likely suffer from the numerous traffic citations. The community is likely breathing a sigh of relief after his chaotic tour of local business parking lots. He will have plenty of time to consider a more traditional way to shop at McDonald's in the future. Springfield residents watched a real life action movie unfold on March 1st, 2022 as Johnny Joe Coffer Jr. hijacked a truck. He is now being celebrated by the local jail staff who will be looking after him for a very long time. A white Dodge Ram transformed a Kansas City gas station into a launchpad for chaos on December 6th, 2024. Jonathan Davis Marin decided to skip the pleasantries of a traffic stop and instead lead deputies on a tour of the local neighborhoods. >> Right. Speed's about 70. Nobody's in the truck. >> Mr. Marin's theatrical performance ended at the dead end of a street where he finally ran out of road and luck. He was charged with aggravated fleeing, a title that was upgraded once the law realized his skills had caused actual injuries to innocent bystanders. His dramatic claims of having children in the vehicle were quickly debunked, leaving him with nothing but a long list of felonies and a very muddy truck. Just before sunrise on November 17th, 2021, Milwaukee officers located a silver infiniti G35 wanted for reckless driving. When they attempted a stop near South 27th Street, the driver allegedly took off, cutting through streets and alleys as more units joined in. 62. >> Good. >> Car's fleeing south on the car. trying to catch up. >> 763 put me in the area. >> Okay, I behaved. Nashville fugitive Cordarius Caldwell turned February 24th, 2016 into a citywide demolition derby through Chattanooga. Local residents won't be forgetting this particular rush hour anytime soon. March 15th, 2025 saw the Clayton County Sheriff's Office respond to reports of a large-scale street takeover in progress. Jaime Alamio attempted to flee the scene in a vehicle registered to his mother leading deputies on a chase through several local roads. >> Oh yeah, there's a lot of cars out here. A lot of cars. In the early hours of July 26th, 2023, St. Louis County officers attempted to stop a stolen Audi Q5 and got a violent response. Jeffrey Henry decided his red Chevy pickup was above the law on November 20th, 2024 when deputies in Pawpaw tried to serve a warrant. The 60-year-old simply shifted into four-wheel drive and began a slow motion escape through the village. He even threatened to damage patrol vehicles before attempting to flee back toward his residence. >> Out of the vehicle. Okay. >> Yeah. You're going to catch another charge, buddy.
