[Music] This is Mr. Estbon Rodriguez. He's dead. We have that on camera. So, we have the surveillance camera. You guys are seen walking over here and then miraculously gunshots go off and my victim is dead. Why me? Why me? This is Alex Brinkley, the world's dumbest criminal, losing his mind after realizing his crimes were caught on camera. Now, as he breaks down, stop focusing on the camera. That's evidence. That's rock solid evidence. Absolutely. Alex will find out that there is no escaping what he has done. Did you kill him or did she kill him? I owe nobody killing nobody. I just came home for free. That [ __ ] ain't cool. You somebody you talking about what's cool? On June 7th, 2020, 43-year-old Estavan Rodriguez, who went by Steve, was enjoying a relaxing night at home. The hardworking man has had a stressful few days after breaking up with his girlfriend Rokia just days before. He had been the subject of her wrath. She reportedly broke bottles and smashed mirrors in his house after he ended things, resulting in being banned from the home by Steve and his roommate. After she was banned, things seemed to be on the upswing. That is until early in the morning on June 8th when Steve's roommate returned from an outing to find Steve lying on the carpet with a gunshot wound to the chest. There was a clump of hair in his grasp and wounds on his face, indicating that he hadn't gone down without a fight. Immediately, law enforcement pulled footage from the cameras in nearby homes and businesses. Steve's roommate wasn't particularly shocked to learn that his ex's car was seen on camera. Royeria and her friend Alex Brinkley were spotted leaving the car and walking to the scene of the crime. Naturally, it didn't take long for detectives to close in on them. The following footage was provided to us by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office via foyer request. Oh, y'all need something a little more small. A little more small cuz you small. So, we put you How many of y'all don't come? Just one. They talking about they said they 10D. They going to make I just want to call my lawyer. They don't want to let me do that. They talking about they 10D, man. How the [ __ ] Have a seat, Mr. Brinkley. Sir, I need to talk to my lawyer. I I respect that. Have a seat. I need to talk to lawyer, boy. I I respect sit down. Just have a seat, man. I'm scared, man. We trying to get you out of here as quick as possible. I need to let my lawyer read this paperwork. No, you don't, sir. I don't understand that [ __ ] Huh? I don't know how to read. There you go. Right here. I don't understand that. I'll read it to you. Have a seat. I don't I don't think you going to read it right now. I have a seat right there. I don't trust you, brother. The sheriff of Palm Beach County, Listen, I don't trust you. This is very, very simple. Sir, I need my lawyer to read that. No, you don't. I have a DNA warrant signed by a judge. Okay. The quicker we get this over with, the quicker you get out of here. So, what's wrong with my lawyer reading that paper telling me the same thing? What wrong with that? You call him on the phone. Tell him what this right here. Have a seat. I'm scared. Have a seat. Yeah. I ain't going to walk, but I'm scared. Okay. We're conducting a homicide investigation, sir. Okay. Okay. During the course of that homicide investigation, we developed evidence to get your DNA. Mhm. We presented a judge with a probable cause affidavit. He read the affidavit, right? And he determined that there was sufficient evidence for us to get your DNA. So, he signed this warrant. Only reason we're here is just to get your DNA, sir. Hey, you know I've been in prison three times, right? Don't got my DNA already. I'm not here to judge you, sir. But I'm saying my DNA got 200. Mr. Brinkley, sir, I don't know you. I don't have anything against you. You've never done anything to me. You never done anything to anyone I know. I'm conducting a fresh investigation, sir. And this DNA is to exclude you as it as well as to include you. That's why we do it. Sir, we are conducting investigation. We know you were riding around in a specific truck. I'm not saying you did anything. I was definitely in I was definitely riding around in a truck. That's why we have your DNA. We needed for to exclude, sir, because you were in the truck. Everybody that's been in the truck, what I come to court tell them I was in the truck. We're getting their DNA right here on BTO. I was bad right there. Right there. Yeah. And then when I was at the gas station right here on on Yeah. Yeah. I was at the drug. I the girl. Yeah. I met the girl. Yo. What? What do I want? So what happened? I We have your DNA, sir. You got my DNA. So you need I apologize. We have a warrant for your DNA. We're conducting a criminal investigation. Your DNA you already know. There's a certain truck that's a part of our investigation. Anybody that we know that has been inside that truck, we're getting their DNA, sir. But I know I was in a truck. Yes, sir. We know that. Just like my house. Listen. Listen. This [ __ ] don't make no sense. Let me explain it to you. You need DNA for a truck you know I was in. Let me explain it to you, sir. You got to make this [ __ ] make sense. Let me explain to you for a truck you know I was in. Let me explain to you. Somebody break in my house, sir. Right. They come out to do the investigation on my house. They're going to get my DNA for exclusionary purposes because they know I've been in the house. You got to understand when we do DNA, there's mixtures. When they have mixtures, we have to get everybody's DNA that was in a certain place because you're going to be a part of the mixture in the truck. So, we need to say this profile is Mr. Brinkley. We know he was in the truck. Da da da da. That's why you're here. All right. Sir, it it's very simple. Well, it's not difficult. That don't make sense. It does makes complete sense. No, you got to break. You were in the truck. Yeah. And there were a lot of other people in the truck, too. We have to get everybody's DNA that was in the truck. My DNA. Your DNA is encoded, sir. We don't work with that DNA. We have to get a fresh sample for our investigation. Your DNA is encoded. It's not in our system. We have to get a fresh sample for investigative purposes. Has nothing to do with what you did. release for you could get it from code then. Huh? Uh, excuse me. Let me sign a release. It doesn't work that way, sir. Our lab works with fresh standards. Fresh standards is what we need. That's why we have a warrant. If it was that easy, I wouldn't be here with you. I said y'all know I was in the truck though. Mr. Brinkley, sir. If it was that easy, sir, I wouldn't be here with you, sir. If it was that easy, but it's not. So, I went out and got a warrant. So, you got DNA? my DNA out the truck already. No. And you know ah this how you say you we process the truck for DNA. We have to have that DNA analyzed. In order for our lab to analyze that DNA, we have to get fresh standards from everybody that's been inside the vehicle. Sir, if you look closely, you can see the point sailing right over Alex's empty little head. But you've got to hand it to him. He's turnurning out some comedy gold with this detective by his side. So much so that we're pretty sure they deserve their own buddy crime TV show, Cop and Flop. Little does Alex know that in spite of his reservations, the officer getting his DNA is the least of his worries because he has plenty of other evidence to pin the crime on him. She is what? I can't. That's We're investigating a homicide, sir. This is regarding a homicide investigation. What I got to do with homicide, sir? What I got to do? I didn't say you had anything to do with a homicide. Are you investigating me or what? I don't look what, bro. This says the DNA of Alex Demetrius Brinkley, black male 11 one of 91. That's all it says. Who is Show me on here where it says suspect. Say who? Wait, show me on there where it says suspect. That word right there is contained. It's not the person. Show me on here where it says suspect. Uh-uh. Why does it say suspect on there? Constitute related proof that has been committed with whatever we write up constitute. Show me on there where it says suspect. What right now? That's it. Florida state statute. What it say? Constitutes elevant evidence relevant to proving that a felony has been committed. So you trying to say I committed a felony? Show me on here where it says suspect. That where it say it don't say suspect nowhere on this warrant. constitutes evident related to proving that sir he has been committed. Sir, I have explained to you five times already. Okay, you can get out here and call your lawyer, but we need to get a fresh DNA standard from you, sir. To do that for do that, man. We get the fresh standard for you. You going back to doing whatever you were doing before we made contact with you. Did that [ __ ] right there then? It's just that simple. No, we have to come in a control environment and do it. We don't believe in doing that. There's things called there's there's things called preservation of evidence and we take your DNA and it goes into an evidence locker. We don't like we don't do DNA in the street. That's not how we roll. Let me call the ride. Huh? Let me call the ride. That'll be your Well, no. Something got to give me, huh? Something got to give. Listen, I'll give you a ride back there my damn self. I ain't no how that [ __ ] going to look. What? Nobody give a [ __ ] kind of gave plenty of people out here riding. Nobody give a damn. I ain't no them people, man. Who the [ __ ] Nobody care. I ain't no them people. Okay. I ain't no people. So listen, this is very simple. We have a warrant for your DNA. Warrant signed by a judge. We're asking for samples of your DNA. Fresh standards for our investigation. If you weren't in the truck, you weren't be you wouldn't be here. We have evidence to show you in a particular truck that was used during the commission of a homicide. That's why we have your DNA. That's why we have a warrant for your DNA. So, we're we're exam we have a warrant for your DNA and we have a warrant to examine your cell phone. Yeah, y'all need to give people their phone cuz I ain't I don't own the phone right here. Be down here. It ain't down here. Let's not do this, man. Call your ride, man. Get your ride here. The phone was registered in Alex's name and had been given to police during his previous arrest dating back several years. In other words, it's undeniable that it's his phone. Despite him lying through his teeth, the detective gives him an opportunity to call a friend to arrange his ride home. Surprise, surprise. But that's not what he does. Go on Avenue A. Go to Barbie Store. Tell her I mean Mike store I mean the fish market. Tell her to show you where Fle stay at. Go tell Flyn to come over here to the jail over here to the thing. Basically, it something tells me he's going to spend his day feeling stressed, not blessed. It's at this point that Alex's two brain cells rub together to come to a startling realization. This isn't his first rodeo with this detective. You the way came to the car. You the one came down the corner in Ok. Yeah. Yeah, that was me. So when y'all got me right then, ran my name and all that [ __ ] What happened? We didn't have the DNA warrant then, sir. A DNA. Well, if you saying you know all this, you had enough, didn't it? We didn't have the DNA warrant at the time. The DNA we studed. So you still ain't got it. Somebody you had all this you know this all this all. I What I did? I'm just trying to get your DNA stuff. This detective conducted a lawful traffic stop and took possession of the car several days before this interrogation. And though Alex is acting like he has no idea why he's popular with the law. It might be because his list of crimes is as long as a CVS receipt. At this point, he had already served time for robbery with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery of a pregnant woman, Grand Theft Auto, not a sponsor, escape, Grand Theft Auto, yet again, and finally, criminal mischief. Doing any number of those things will make you pretty popular with the cops. I have a warrant for your DNA, sir. Why you take a lot of H? I need to take a lot of that. No pol. I want some fake bread. Hm. I want some fake bread. No, I want your DNA. Come on. Let me know. We go to the door and do it. I have No, no, no. Have a seat. We're not doing I ain't running. I'm at the counter. Y'all leave me alone. I'm good. We can give you a ride, but nowhere but see you. I'm okay. It's dark. It's late. I'm okay. Are you sure? Yes, sir. Please. Okay. Well, have a blessed day. Escort you downstairs. I escort you downstairs. Alex was surely relieved to finally get out of the interrogation room. But about 3 months later, when his DNA was processed and matched DNA found inside the car, police were finally able to take him into custody for the murder of Steve Rodriguez. At that point, police had footage of the vehicle, footage of the occupants inside the vehicle, and DNA proving that those occupants were Alex and Ryia. That's pretty much a slam dunk. But taking Alex into custody was another story. The details here are hazy, but it's evident that he took a little trip to the hospital prior to being brought to the station. Well, Mr. Brinkley, you know, I believe in, you know, obviously the uh people's rights and everything like that, and I I want to speak with you about this case. I have to read you your Miranda warnings. Okay. Have you ever been arrested before? Yeah, they done arrested me and did all that. It's too late for him running right, isn't it? No, no, because no one's questioned you and I me or whoever. No, no one has nothing like that. I had some questions before. But listen, I I'm straight shooter. I tell everyone straight up off the bat, I believe in everyone's constitutional rights. I have to read that. So, I can't talk to you right now about anything. But let me ask you, you said something about a lawyer. Do you want to have Do you want to talk with your lawyer? You don't want to talk with me? I want to find out what's going on. I don't even know what's going on, man. Okay. Well, I'm about to explain that to you. So, let me go get my stuff real quick and I'll be right back. Okay, man. What? Damn. Come on. First, man, man. Man, listen man. Man, listen man. Boy, this [ __ ] going to be ugly, boy. Boy, this [ __ ] going to be real ugly, bro. And he ain't seen ugly yet. For someone who has no idea why he's being questioned, Alex sure does seem to be going off the deep end about it. What the man of this that [ __ ] dog. Damn, man. Hey, man. What's up, man? Goddamn, man. going get [ __ ] over with, man. Hey, I got a piss, bro. Hey, I got a piss, bro. As soon as he's done, give him one second. He's talking to the attorney. Got to stop me from peeing to go to the bathroom. Yeah, give him one second. He'll be right back. Hold it. You're grown adult. One second. What the [Music] go through this [ __ ] F the parking lot. I got pissed so bad, bro. Oh my god. Hey man. Oh [ __ ] Hey man, I got asthma too, man. I think I need treatment. I feel an asthma attack coming. I'm getting short of breath. I might need some help. At this point, big bad Alex has been in the interrogation room alone for less than 10 minutes, and he's already tried every trick in the book to get out. After his asthma attack claim, which he quickly gives up, he returns to O Reliable. Hey, I got to pee, bro. After some incessant whining and a potty break, the detective finally returns to get down to business. Like I said, I'm Detective Roman. Um, before we get anything, I just got to read you your Miranda warnings. You have you've been arrested before. You've had your Miranda warnings read to you before. All right, man. Alex acknowledges his rights and the interrogation begins in earnest. Well, Mr. uh Mr. Brinkley, I'm doing a homicide investigation. I'm very upfront and everything like that. Did you ever were you into Did you ever hook up with her? Yeah. Yeah. You guys had hooked up. Okay. This is Rokia. The only confirmation we have that she had a relationship with Alex is his word. However, we do have more than Alex's word to confirm that she was working as an exotic dancer. In 2015, she allegedly pulled a gun on the bouncer at the club she worked at and threatened him, resulting in charges for aggravated assault and battery. We're talking about what specifically what I want to go with is June 8th of 2020. Okay. Um, let me ask you, does this area look familiar to you? This is off uh US Highway 27. So basically this is 27 right here. Uh this is um you know where moss towing is. Nothing I explain. So So this is South Bay, right? Okay. You know where moss towing is in South Bay? I probably know it but not by name. I probably have you ever do you do you live in this area? Do you hang out in this area? I live in that area. You don't live in South Bay. Do you have any family members that live over here in this? I have family members that live in South Bay. where at in um the lockets. Uh do you know their address? I can't say. Okay. The reason I'm um having a question about is that this is Mr. Estebon Rodriguez, right? All right. He's dead, right? Okay. You did you know that this is Rokira Akira who you know? Okay. Correct. Yeah. You know she she's in jail. I know. I know she's she's in jail. Um and specifically, we're talking about June 8th of this year, June 8th of 2020, right? Um, my question is, you know, what happened that the morning of June 8th at 12:59 in the morning um between you and Miss Wy and how this individual ended up dead. Did she set you up? Did she set me up? Mhm. I don't know about no set up. No. Did you kill him or did she kill him? I don't know nothing about nobody killing nobody. I just came home for free. I met her. She I had Okay, that's all I can tell you. I got I need to think of the date. I need to find a date. But you could uh see her coming to meet me at the Okachobee in multiple times. Coming to see me. She a I met her. I was having Did you drive her? Do you drive her for F150? I drove her truck before when she came to Belgade. She ain't know her way. Well, she say she ain't know her way around town or whatever. What color was that truck? Her truck is It's a dark color. Dark color. Yeah, it's a dark. Is it a Ford F-150 or 250? No, maybe. It's It's a black F-150. It's a truck. I think it's a It's a truck. Okay. You've driven that truck before? Yes, sir. So your DNA would be inside that truck. Oh yeah. I drove it in Belg. You could see me at Bobby store. I pulled up the Bobby store in that truck before the fish market. Yeah. The the watch house across from Bargain Wines. Yeah. And I have that I have you driving her car on on the night of June 7th, 2020. June 7th of this year. You were driving her truck with her in the car. when she came to Belgrace, uh, she was trying to find, she was with her uncle from Pokei. She got an uncle from Pokei. Do you know his name? Nate. Nate. Okay. Um, so June 7th, leading up into June 8th of this year, 2020. Um, you said, do you remember that you were driving her uh black Ford F-150? Hold on. We knew we missed the time for a lot. This was around the time when you ended up in Okachobee with her. Remember? Do you remember going to her house in Okachobee? Right. And and the sheriff, they came and picked me up. She came and picked you up. Boom. They wanted me to drive. And the next day And then the next day at the sheriff's office. Okay. So remember what we're talking about. And she wanted me to drive. So let me ask you this. When So when did she pick you up? What do you It was like It was late cuz I had been partying all night. So you were hanging out with her on June 7th, right? Okay. Um, did you guys do you remember stopping anywhere? Did you guys go to any stores? I think Bobby store. You went to Bobby's store? I think so. Okay. Did you go to any Let me ask you this. What time did you start hanging out with her? Do you remember? It was kind of like a offer on thing. Uh-huh. Cuz I know one time we dropped. We dropped. Me and my homeboy was with me. Who's your homeboy with it? My homeboy? I don't know. You don't know? I don't know. No name. Well, I mean it's still a name. What's his name? No neck. No name. No neck. Oh, no neck. Yeah, that's his Is that street name? Yeah. I don't know. You don't know his real name? Okay. But like Okay. So me, bro. So she wanted to go to her own party. We ended up dropping her off and that was up in French Village. Yeah. Okay. We dropped her off and then we had then we had end up coming back picking her up and then about what time was that? Do you remember? I ain't no make time with everybody hanging out and drinking. It like a little party. Was it in the was it late evening time, early morning time? Cuz this was Sunday. It was no early morning. It was dark. It was dark. And then she ended up when we picked up she dropping another back off. Where did they where did she drop you guys off that? I think in Belg. She dropped you off in Belg. And then where did she go? I can't. She be doing you know she be doing her own thing. She female and we're talking June 7th when you were driving around in her truck at her mama's when her mama's birthday party. Okay. Yeah. I drove I drove that truck that night. You drove that truck that night. Okay. But then you're saying that she dropped you off? Yeah. Like Okay. We had the truck for a little bit. We dropped her out at her mom. We sliding around. Yeah. Then we go and pick her up and she drop me off back in Vegas. Matter of fact, at my girl high and it's a camera rat across the building on that Christian ceiling place where they just trying to bone rust me and throw me. It's a camera rat on that building. Okay. And then she left for the night. They could see my parking lot. Okay. And then you didn't see her after that? No. I ended up driving to Oko. She came and got me to drive to Oko. Okay. Okay. So, she dropped you off. Then she ended up coming back and picking us up. Okay. Okay. So, you drove to Okachchobee. Yeah. Do you remember how you drove to Okachchobee? Man, I was I was draw through South Bay. You went through South Bay. That's the only way you can go. So, you went up through Kiston. Yeah. That 27, whatever that road is. Yeah. 27. So, you go through South Bay, you pass the pilot, keep or did you make a left and go? No. No. Cuz the only other way is Broward. Yeah. I don't think so. I can't tell you. I don't know. Alex seems pretty confident about his the neighbor's camera saw me get dropped off defense. Unfortunately for him, that doesn't really jive with the real story. Another person's camera caught me running away from a crime scene. Well, this is this is his house, Steven's house, and US Highway 27. Okay. So, you've never been to his place? You've never met him? You don't know him? I don't know him. You don't know him at all? Okay. Um, well, he's dead. He was killed. My question to you is, how does your fingerprint end up inside of his house on his door? Yes, sir. Mr. Brinkley. Mr. Brinkley, let me ask you a question. The only two people alive that know anything that happened that night, how this man ended up dying, is you and her. How do I know? Mr. Brinkley, let me ask you a question. This is 2020, right? We have a lot of things, technology and stuff like that. So on June 8th, 2020 when u TAC agents and Okachobee County deputies made contact with you in the car, which you explained when your your cousin had come pick you up, you were with Rok Star star Kira, whatever she goes by. This is Rakira and you gave my partner, Detective Evans, uh your phone number. Okay. Um, could do you are you familiar with cell phones and how they work? I guess you know that they especially like with so like phones and stuff and I'm not an expert but you know I've kind of gotten a little bit of it's been interesting how to learn how these things but you know how like if you got your Wi-Fi on and stuff like that you know it picks up things and you know your phone it always it's pinging and stuff like that when you make a phone call and stuff like that. So on the night or the morning I I should say June 8th 2020 59 let me actually back this up. I have you with Mr. Ruk most of the day in Belgane on June 7th of 2020 which you said you did. You were with her. Yeah totally. You went to Western Union. Do you remember that? Yeah. Somebody sent her money. Somebody sent her money. Yep. and that, you know, text message and stuff like that with that. Um, what text message? No, she had text message on her phone that she that you did a um you picked up a Western Union with her for $25 or something. I picked it up. Yeah. Yeah. I I got I have it on video. I I just saying I know it was Western Union. I don't I know it was a Western Union. Yeah. And you went to Where did you go to pick that up? I don't know. You don't remember when Dixie? Oh, it was Dixie. It was Wind Dixie. Remember that? It went PDQ. No, PDQ. Yeah. No, it was Wind Dixie. We have that on camera. So, we have the surveillance camera. You know, you guys drove together. You were driving the truck, which you said is perfectly fine. And she was with you. It was only you two in there. You picked up the Western unit. It's not a big deal. Um, what is a concern with me and I I would like to have you try to explain this to me is that at 12:59 in the morning on June 8th, okay, which is Monday morning, your cell phone and curious cell phone have you guys at the scene. We also have surveillance cameras of the F-150 pulling up and parking just west right here actually. Right. Of where my victim's house is. Right. All right. I have your cell phone when we did your um search warrant on your cell phone records. Right. Places you there at the time to parking the truck at my homicide. Right. Okay. Okay. And we have Miss Wy here. Okay. Can you explain to me? Can you explain that? Why your phone putting you here? Maybe I left my phone in your truck. Okay. Can you explain to me if you've never been here and you don't know him, how your fingerprint gets inside of my crime scene? I don't think my No, it is, sir. Absolutely. I ain't never been there, sir. Can you So, you can't explain to me if you've never been there. How did your fingerprint on end up on the inside of his door? On the inside? Yes, sir. No, sir. Did you kill him? Why would I? I don't even know that guy. Sir, did you go there for a robbery and she told you that he had money? Why would I do that? My family loves I don't know. That's what I'm trying to figure out. I don't have to rob anybody, sir. My family loves me. I got a mother and a grandmother, auntie. I'm blessed. They love me. I ain't got to do that, sir. But you can't explain to me how your fingerprint gets inside my crime scene. I don't think my how your cell Oh, it is how your cell phone records put you there. The GPS coordinates put you there. I wasn't there. Maybe my phone was there. So, your phone was there, but your miraculous saying it was. I said maybe. I'm not even sure. Okay. I was drinking. You were drinking that night, obviously. Yeah. You see what I'm saying? Do Were you that messed up that night? No, I know I wasn't there. I probably left my phone. That's the norm was leaving my phone or somebody called something that No, that's that's fine. normal. How do you leave your fingerprint inside the house, though? I can't go for the house, sir. I I I wasn't there, sir. Okay. I'm telling you, sir, I wouldn't Okay, that's fine. And And I'm not lying to you. I know what I'm saying. But I ain't I wasn't I mean, you have all 10 fingers, so we're good. We're good. You're not like missing a finger or nothing like that. I got them all. You can't explain to me how your fingerprint gets inside my house. I don't think I know how it went. I never been never drove through that. Never drove to there. No, never been there, sir. Obviously, Alex didn't spend his 3 months of freedom coming up with a convincing lie. Did she kill him? I don't know what she did. I don't I don't know. She ain't said nothing to me about nothing like that. I mean, a lot of people time she was me. She was cool, calm, collect. They picked her up from right then and there. When she got out, she called me again. She said she was in Lauderdale. I'm in Fort Lauderdale at that time. Fort Yeah. Yeah. And she was at club. I went and picked her up from her back down here. And then that's when she went her own way again. Okay. Cuz when car's down, car I guess she been down here before. I got out of prison cuz she know her. She know people who she You know what I'm saying? But when she chill with me, we chill together. Okay. But she got other people. she know be dealing with. So, does she have a gun? Does she own a gun? I don't. Do you own any guns? No, sir. No. No. I'm defender. I can't own a gun. You can't own a gun? Okay. Oh, yeah. You can't see your own. All right. Cuz I'm trying to get answers, man, and I'm trying to figure out what happened. I'm thinking, you know, did she pull the trigger or did you pull the trigger? Did you Was it Was it a robbery? Did she put you in a bad situation? Yes, sir. Did this guy fight you? When you say you never met him before? I never fought nobody. Nothing, sir. Well, he's dead. I don't He was murdered. I don't know that guy. I don't know him, sir. You never been to no house before? I never been to his house, sir. I do not know this guy, sir. Okay. How old he is? I I said how old is he? I just got out 76. I just got out of prison. I'm 20 years old. I just did like four years in prison. I don't I don't know him. I really don't even if if they not my family. I really don't even know people in South Bay like that. South Bay probably I I don't know people like But you can't explain to me about your fingerprint. That fingerprint. I can't No, it is. It's absolutely, sir. I would not lie to you. It can't be. It is, sir. I don't know who that guy is, sir. Never been to the house. Well, that's what I'm asking. Were was it maybe that were you messed up really bad? Did do Did you do any drugs besides the drinking? You were just drunk that night. I know what I did. I Yeah. No. No. I don't know who that is. And I never been I know who she is. I had her multiple times. Mhm. I don't understand what's going on. Well, you're under you're under arrest for first-degree murder. That's that's the warrant. I have a warrant for your arrest for first-degree murder and and armed burglary. Wow. And she's under she's been she's been in jail. She's in jail for first-degree murder also. armed burglary. Wow. I'm under arrest for murder and murder. Because I have overwhelming evidence that put you there at the scene at the time of the murder. What's the overwhelming evidence? Your cell phone, sir. Your fingerprint inside my crime scene. Excuse me, sir. Yes, sir. My cell phone. How do y'all get this is my cell phone? Because this is the same number that you gave my partner on the the day of June 8th. I'm just saying. I That's why these these phones are pretty cool because they understand they're pretty cool. But who's to say I had that phone? Who name is that phone then? No, no, no. This is the number that you gave my partner, Detective Evans, on June 8th after we we stopped you in Okachobee County and we confirmed your phone number. So, we did a we did a search warrant on your records. You've also used this phone number before in multiple reports. So, you have confirmed it and you confirmed that multiple report. You confirmed that with Detective Evans, Mr. Brinkley on June 8th after Hold on. Let me I'm trying to explain here. So you gave Detective Evans your phone number. We confirmed that with you cuz Detective Evans called and said, "Yes, this is my phone number." Okay. So what we did is we did a search warrant on your phone records. Okay. So those phone records, we have GPS coordinates and stuff like that. So we did all that. All that evidence came back as we're putting you at the crime scene at the time 12:59 a.m. and we have surveillance cameras of the Ford F-150 coming in. Oh, so a surveillance camera. Yeah, there's actually a surveillance camera right here that captures you pulling in here with Yeah, capture me. And then you guys surfentially park over here about 250 ft from the front of the uh of the residence. You guys are seen walking over here and then miraculously gunshots go off and my victim ends up dead. Excuse me, sir. But here's another piece of evidence is that your fingerprint is on the inside interior door of my victim's house. Can you explain that to me? In the days leading up to Steve's murder, his roommate reported that he saw Rokeria drive by multiple times stalking the home. She had a clear motive. It's obvious that she wasn't happy with the breakup. She had motive and Alex had a history of violence. But my question is is did she put you up to this? She ain't put me up to a full thing. You see why I stay with I've got an old lady. You think I'mma let me in. They done crazy things, brother. Come on, man. I just look like this. Cuz I got more I'm I got a girl with a whole house of You think I'mma let a man told me? Sometimes we do stupid things, brother. No. No. What they do that? Where's the gun that was used at this crime scene? I don't know nothing about no gun, sir. Nothing. I don't I don't Well, I I can't be around. I'm going to give you a few minutes. I got to make a phone call real quick. Just give me a few minutes. Hold on. I'm saying Yeah. What's up, man? Can I get a phone call to call my girl? Yeah. When you We're going to bring bring you over to the jail. You can get your phone call. Absolutely. Yeah, absolutely. You get a phone call. Me in the jail. In the jail. Right over here. Why I got to go over there? Because you have you have an arrest warrant for first-degree murder. But give me a few minutes. I'll be right back. Okay. I got to make a phone call real quick. How am I getting to? It's cuz evidence. I ain't making no evidence. What happened? All these cameras out there. So like where a picture of me out there. All these cameras out there. Come on, man. That that like come on, bro. Come on, bro. For real, bro. Yeah, man. Yeah. For I don't lie, sir. I li Okay. You say the camera's camera. These people whatever they did, they did. So like I just want to know, man. I'm going to give you a few minutes cuz I got I'm saying like it should be a picture of what my picture if I'm out there if I'm out there doing what y'all say I did. Like what my picture then? Why on the camera? That's a satellite picture. That's a satellite picture. What I'm saying? You say it's cameras out there. You just say it's cameras right there. Right there. That you just There's a camera right here. It points out the corner here. So if I came out there and I did all this like where I'm at on this camera, man, I know I ain't where I'm at on this camera. Let me ask you, man. Were you that drunk? You don't remember what happened? I'm just saying like why I was there on the camera if I was out here. Let's stop focusing on the camera. Break it. Look at me. So that's evidence. That's one of them. That's rock solid evidence. Absolutely. So is a latent fingerprint. So is cell phone database. That cell phone could have been goddamn. That cell phone could have been in that truck all night. I had this truck ride around drinking. Yeah. And I'm telling you what was left in there. You had the smarts enough to bring it to you all the way to Okachobee County and then have the phone with you in the car when we stopped you. It was already in there. No, we found it in your You had it with you. That's after we done got to Okato. We done got out the truck. We You But you just said it was just you and her when she came and picked you up to go back to saying we me and her got out the trouble. We got over to No, no, no. I'm saying you said that she dropped you off on June 7th and then she came back and picked you up. That's what you told me. She came back and picked me up and said drive to I jumped in the car but we went straight to No, you did not. Well, we did. No, you did not. You drove to this house right here. I have GPS coordinates from her phone and your phone. And then guess what else you did? You drove back south on US Highway 27, which we have cameras of the black F-150 all the way into Broward County. Okay. Can you explain that? I was lost. I ain't know what I was doing. You're a lost, but you know how to get I got lost. What you saying? Listen. Put words in. I'm not putting words in your mouth. She dropped me off. I said when she came back and picked me up, she said, "Baby, let's go to Uncle Show me. Let's go to my house." Okay. I call my auntie and she tell you we going to come and show me. Yeah. when we get down there. So when when she picked you up, you're telling me you went straight from your place? She picked me up and we went straight to Oh, you went to Chroy. We went straight to Chroy. Do you remember how where you went and how you drove? No, we drove 27 and going the wrong way. I had to I had to turn around in in the in the in the in the in the in the in the minion thing. I got her talking [ __ ] in L. See, I I see drunk. Mr. Brinkley, what's up? I have cameras on the gas station across from Moss Towing. Okay. What do I have? I had the GPS coordinates. Okay. You guys come in from Belg. Mhm. At 12:35, you guys arrive and do a driveby down this area right here to the to the victim's residence. Excuse me. Yeah. Hold on. Go ahead. You're saying you guys what's placing me in there? Are you trying to say a cell phone place me in there? Your cell phone and your latent print. Everybody know I was driving. I had been driving a truck all the truck. My my man. What? I know the late and print inside my crime scene at my house. I know my It is a fact. Your print is in there. That's a fact. And you can't explain that to me. I got a dead guy with your print along with your cell phone GPS coordinates putting you at this house at the time of the homicide. You ain't [ __ ] I did. I talked to her. Say what she said, man. At this point, not even the detective can keep himself from laughing at Alex's scramble for lies. I don't know about no crime. I don't know about no crime. Okay. [Music] What? What the Damn [ __ ] about that kill business. That's crazy. Damn, that don't make any sense. What's up? That's in the hell. Yeah, I got crossed up in this [ __ ] I don't know, man. This [ __ ] crazy, man. So, did you kill him or did she kill him? I ain't killed nobody. You didn't kill him. Why would I want to do that? I have no idea. Maybe she said, "Hey, I know he's got some money." She could have said I know their connection, man. She could have said what the she want said. I ain't gonna kill. Come on, man. This is real life, bro. Real life. What the kill? Come on, man. No. No. Not like that. Come on. We need to hurry up at home. What's up with them cameras? Like, I ain't catch nothing out there. All the cameras wasn't I ain't understanding this, man. I'm like, hell no. Well, so don't be f I mean, the cameras are one of this, man. No, absolutely right. Concrete evidence. That's one piece of evidence. That's concrete. So is cell phones. That's another Don't Don't dismiss that. And also the laten print. I ain't worried about no print. Okay, man. I went out there. They can't tell me I was out there. You can't put me out there. I went nothing. I know I for what? I don't know. That's the question that you have. That's the answer. That's the question I have. I just want to know why. Why it happened picked me up. His family wants to know what happened. So, they got it. So, so just cuz I was in Oka with her. No, no, no. Back it up. You're missing a big piece of the puzzle. Big piece of the puzzle. Oh, I ain't even seen it yet. No. No. How like No, you ain't. No. Dang. Well, I need to take a lie to take a test. No, I don't know. I can do one of your polygraph. This ain't the first. This ain't got to be for some [ __ ] They got the cameras playing. Well, they have cameras. Can I get a cigarette? No, we can't smoke anymore. Come on, man. Like, what the Come on, man. No, we can't smoke in here, my man. Come on, man. And I don't even smoke in here. What's wrong with the polygraph test then? That's not up. I We don't do polygraphs, man. No, we don't do that. Why? Do no polygraph. Oh, we need to find some kind of test. Well, Mr. Brickley, I got to get going now. So, I just wanted to ask you about it. Obviously, you don't um and saying you don't know you don't know him, you don't never been to his house and stuff like that. So, I just want to let you are you have arrest warrant for your arrest of first-degree murder with a firearm and armed burglary to a dwelling. So, that's what you're being charged with. Okay. So, they're going to take you over to the jail and then um and just go from there. Do you have any questions for me? I got a bond. No, no bond. Not until you see the judge. There's no bond not for first-degree murder. [Music] Y'all trying y'all trying to railroad me, man. I'm not trying to railroad you, man. I'm just doing my job, sir. I just came home from prison, man. Like, man, why me? Why me? At trial, the prosecution answered that question. Ryeria turned the blame on Alex, stating that she did enlist him to help rob Steve, but Steve valiantly fought back. In return, Alex shot him and left him on the floor of his own home to die. Because Ryia was cooperative and took a plea deal, she was sentenced to just 5 years in prison. As of the publishing of this video, she's been released. In October of 2023, Alex was sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to a lesser charge of manslaughter.
