This is 21-year-old Elijah Daily. Elijah is walking into this hotel with three of his closest friends to escape the gang life, unaware that he is being lured into a death trap. >> He's passed away. >> Because on this day, Elijah will be assassinated in one of these rooms set up by five people. And with three of them still inside this hotel and two on the run, what follows is a desperate hunt to catch them all. >> Where are you at? Get on the ground. >> Dude, why do you keep lying? Why do you keep lying? >> You got to lose. It's time to be honest. >> Nothing good happens after midnight. And on May 8th, 2025, guests at a Ramada Inn in Florida saw that on full display. Numerous calls were made to police reporting a shooting that had taken place in one of the rooms and that a victim, 21-year-old Elijah Jordell Daily, was bleeding to death in the parking lot. By the time police arrived, it was already too late. >> How did he make it out? >> Looks like maybe made it about three got shot. >> Yeah. >> You can see the drop drop >> At 21, Elijah had already been through more than most. After struggling with the wrong crowd through high school, he temporarily relocated to Texas for work, where he made a good honest living installing solar panels. Unfortunately, after getting laid off, he found himself back in Florida and back with that same bad crowd. And now, he wasn't just a friend of theirs, he was a target because Elijah had something they didn't, money. Police had inside to speak with the so-called friends that Elijah was with that night in the hotel room. 18-year-old Jamari Mitchell, his girlfriend 19-year-old Lania McCloud, and their friend Yosha Bell Yoshi Edward. The three appear grief-stricken claiming that a masked man who they didn't recognize burst into the hotel room and attacked Elijah, but appear is the key word in that sentence. Now, moving forward, keep in mind that pretty much everyone in this case goes by a nickname. And with names like Yosha Bell, that's not surprising. Elijah, the victim, went by Fat. >> My brother got shot. Fat, me, Naya, and Yoshi at a hotel and I heard a water. Somebody came Somebody came in the room big with a mask on or whatever and Fat got shot or whatever. Like, bro, I had walked to the car. Like, police there now, man. It's a lot going on, man. No, I thought I did. >> Tell police. >> Just Fat. It's like a It's like whoever was he wasn't even like worried about it. Like, dude like >> [snorts] >> came straight and he flew straight past me. Like, I'm sitting right there on the bed. He flew straight past me. >> Nothing in the story is making sense to the police. If Elijah was in a hotel room with his friends and the killer fled out into the parking lot, why is that where Elijah ended up? Why would he follow behind the killer? Unless perhaps he thought the real danger was in the room with him. Playing the role of caring friend, Jamari approaches police for details. >> Sir, how y'all feel Fat head? Yeah. Is he Is he good? No? Bro, go walk, bro. Bro, go walk, bro. >> Me, too. Thank you so much, man. >> Sorry, we just have to pause here to point out being barefoot on the lobby floor of a Ramada Inn, post shooting or not, is crazy [music] work. >> Well, are you his family or his friend or what? >> Well, I as like her dog. I was like what? >> Okay. He's passed away. >> What? What? No. No. What the [ __ ] No. >> [snorts] >> Babe. Babe. He gone. He gone. What the [ __ ] What the [ __ ] >> Were they in the >> Oh, [ __ ] >> Were they in the room, too? >> Sir. >> Were they in the room, too? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> The tall one with the >> Did she see anything? >> That's my baby mama. >> Okay. >> The tall one, that's her friend. >> Did they see anything? Did they see it like you did? >> No. >> Where were they at when it was happening? >> They were in the room, but Yoshi, the tall girl, she was in the bed asleep. Me and my baby mama was the only one that was up. Somebody came in the room and I don't even remember. I wasn't even paying attention to what the Yoshi was doing, the tall girl. I wasn't paying no attention to what she was even doing. All I know is that Hey, where did Did >> I was I went to the wrong place. I had to run in the grass. I had to run in the grass. I had to run in the back of the place. I heard gun shots so I ran. I ran around the building. I don't know I'm not from here so I don't know where I was going. I ran around and then I ended up with my friend down there so I tried to run down there but I got tired and stopped running. >> Elijah was tragically pronounced dead in the parking lot. The cards he had been dealt in life were far from ideal but he was working hard to put himself in a better place. He wasn't selling drugs or dabbling in illegal activities. Unlike the friends he had grown up with, he was working on the right side of the law and unfortunately, that cost him his life. At this point, police are certain that his three friends have something to do with the case so they decided [music] it's time to separate them. >> As best as you can, maybe try to separate them. If that's so that they're not talking to each other. >> Um you guys are going to have to separate till the detectives get here, okay? >> It's okay. >> So who's coming here? >> Detectives. >> Why are we getting separated? >> Just trust me. So I need one of y'all in there. >> But this is my baby mama. >> I know. Y'all are going to have to separate. I'm sorry but that's just the way it's got to be right now. >> But this is my baby mama like if anything y'all at least be like in the same room until until the detective come. Like Like Like you really like at least try to work with me here, fam. Like Like >> So you want to go in there? And then one of y'all can go in the dining room and one of y'all stay in here. >> Yeah. Yeah. Like >> I know but it's not that far away. >> Yeah, but it's not going to be that far. >> I know but I'm saying I just at least want to be with her. >> I know. I know but right now we got to be separated. >> This is >> Okay? We can't We're not able to talk to each other for now. >> That level of panic the trio has at being separated tells police everything they need to know. The minute they aren't together, their story is going to crumble. Meanwhile, they have other things that they should be more concerned about because in the parking lot, Elijah's aunt and mother have arrived, and they have vital information to tell law enforcement. [music] And if you enjoy killers like this realize they're not winning an Oscar, subscribe and check out our Spotify, where we upload podcasts every week. >> Can you give us a second? >> Deputy Barr, you all the victim's family? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Who are you? >> I'm his aunt, Tommy, and this is Mom. >> And Mom. I'm Deputy Barr, with the Sheriff's Office. I'm just going to take some information. >> Elijah's aunt and mother tell police that the previous day Elijah had been set up for a robbery, and that they believed it was orchestrated by none other than the three people sitting in the lobby. >> But they were the ones that set it up. The girls told him and they were at the house. So, they're involved. When you feel something as a mother >> Yeah. >> I know. I wanted him to talk yesterday about these kids, because I knew that this was going on. Elijah's a grown kid. I told him not to go. But this has been, like I said, this happened 5 weeks ago. I had to make a report. Money and Tayvi. LT is the name, too. Those three right there. I got a call that my son was shot, and LT says I'm just trying to protect your brother before it really happens. >> Unfortunately, it did really happen. And in this case, word on the street was vital, as well as the cameras perched all over the Ramada Inn. In the footage, police were able to identify a car that the shooter fled to, which introduced them to two new suspects. The shooter, who they believed was a man named Laterrius Lotto Johnson, and the getaway driver, a man named Jair Marcus Jenkins. Police were quickly able to take Latarius and the three so-called friends who were in the hotel in for questioning. But, Jair Marcus, he went on the run, and with that, police were left with not only hours of surveillance footage to comb through and four suspects to question, but one to hunt down. They were able to trace his car to a neighborhood, but approaching it had to be done with the utmost caution. >> All the windows are closed. Let's Let's go up and clear it. Blind. Blind. I can't see in. Watch me. Watch the crossfire. Watch the crossfire. Crossfire. If you can't see, breach. If you can't see in, do we need to clear it? >> I don't. >> Yeah, you got to ask I got one of pop my trunk with one of my gun belt. >> Are the doors are unlocked? >> Just as police realized the car was empty, they received a call from a nearby home reporting that the homeowner had seen someone run into their garage. >> Do what? >> I just don't want to be in the crossfire cuz they [snorts] said >> Yeah, we going. >> They said that he's standing in the grove? >> You want to hold that entry way right there? >> I just I'm going. >> Coming in. >> That's clear. >> Your hands STRAIGHT OUT. >> STRAIGHT DOWN. GET ON THE GROUND. GET ON THE GROUND. >> HANDS STRAIGHT OUT. >> WITH THAT, police had all five suspects in custody and after reviewing all the footage, they had a picture-perfect view of what happened in the hotel second by second. But the people they're questioning, well, they don't know that yet. So, police start with the weakest link, Linnea, Jamari's girlfriend, who was pregnant and was at the hotel at the time of the shooting. >> It's really we have to do certain things that otherwise are laws and get on the show. You know what I mean? Nothing to alarm you and just one of our things. Okay. Have you ever had rights read before? No, I don't get in trouble. No, I got you. I got you. Linnea hasn't gotten in trouble because frankly, in order to get in trouble, you've got to get caught. [music] They read her her rights. So, three months pregnant, huh? >> I'm staying out of trouble like >> Well, yeah. Well, you still got a little thing. So, Pregnant? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. All right. You're what? You're home? >> 19. >> 19? >> 19 in November. >> Do you know what the uh gender is? Yeah, or no? >> No, I was going to do a gender reveal on June 1st. >> Really? >> Is that your birthday? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Do we Do we have a light? >> Okay. >> See See, I read you your rights. You want to sit down? >> Okay. It's just procedural stuff. So, I'm Detective Tony. I'm the lead investigator on the case. >> After a bit of small talk, investigators get down to business asking about what happened that night. Linnea tells police that she, Elijah, Jamari, and Yoshi innocently went to the hotel together to hang out, but that something was wrong with Elijah. >> He's been He was on weird timing all night. Like He was so like he uh Elijah. He was so like Like even on paranoid. I'm sorry. Even on the ride to like while on everything, he's playing with the guns in his hands. He's saying like no one's going to hurt him. I said he was saying some weird like And I'm like like I respect how you feel, but like at the end of the day, accidents happen. He's saying his hands are not by the trigger. I'm like I don't care. Like I'm not going for that. Like it wasn't even like a real argument, but it was like a little back and forth cuz it's like Yeah, that's okay and normal to you, but that's not normal to me. Like you know, like I don't do guns. And then uh when we got in while we were out, Jamari talked to him like just like saying on some stuff like cool down. Like she really like they're not from here. Like you feel me? And then when uh we got my passport back when we got to the hotel, he was like He was like watching his surroundings. And I was like basically like if you don't like It'd be on the dresser then it'd be in his pocket then it'd be in his bag then it'd be back in his pocket then he'd go to the bathroom with him. Like the guns are just following him. Really? So I'm like if you like if you really feel some type of way like I promise you you could just go home like I we're we're not going to do this like I'm not going to try to figure out like be comfortable in your plan then he's like bro you're straight you're straight it's nothing about you this that and the third. >> She then claims that she went downstairs to get DoorDash but just as she did the unthinkable happened. >> I um I looked back I hit that that staircase and I went downstairs. Um I heard gunshot and I looked back and um I was lost. So I looked back and I heard it and um I just heard I just heard Jamari screaming and she's laying. And then um I saw Jamari and Yoshi running together that way but I was like by like the trees of by the pool I guess or something whatever is on the other side of Ramada so I couldn't like basically if I would have tried to go running the way they went I wouldn't have like I would have ran into them. You feel me? Like I would have made it in time so I went around and then um Jamari was running like this way and Yoshi's running around the curve of the building and um I had well I had seen her I had yelled her name I seen her. She seen me and we started running towards each other. Um she yelled Jamari's name then they started running towards me. I ran towards them and then as soon as I asked him if he okay he threw up and then I seen her blood on him. I asked him if he got shot he didn't know if he got shot or not so then I checked him out and then the man um I don't know if he's the owner or the worker. He um He started walking out and Jamari just couldn't stop throwing up. So, then he had said, "Just call the police. Call the police." And then I told the man to call the police. And then he told us to follow us follow him in. And then that's when I fell asleep. >> While Waniya was outside of the room when the shooting happened, Yoshi, her friend, claims that she was inside the room and she tells police what happened. Well, her version of what happened, that is. >> You know, we're drinking and we fell asleep. We're eating. I ate my sandwich. He ate his sandwich. We all ate our sandwiches. Uh we fell asleep. Now, as I fell asleep, um let's say I don't even know the time frame. That's how quick I got about the bed. But, um we're sleeping. I'm so deep in my sleep. I wake up to just immediate um Jamari. Jamari, "Yo, Yoshi, Yoshi, Yoshi." And you know, because me, I'm close with Jamari like that. He's like my brother. I'm like I'm like, "What? What? What?" What? What? What? Like Jamari is in the bed like trying to like kind of like warning me, kind of. Like, "Yoshi, Yoshi, Yoshi." Immediately is uh like this this huge like I just feel this big and I can just tell it's not my friend and it's not him cuz they're small and I'm taller than both of them. So, I'm like, "This is This is strange." Um the body gets on top of me and like my first reaction is I'm in danger. Like a split second and then like that split second went away and I was just like, "I'm not in danger." cuz the way this boy like like moved past me to like get to Fat. Like you would have thought like like I was in his way or something. Like, "Move. I'm not for you. Like I'm not here for you. Like I'm here for it." Like somebody like the way like I thought I was in danger the way the man just jumped on top of me. But, it was more like it was like a you're in my way. Like I'm in the same bed as Fat. So, I immediately So, I just fell. How was he on top of you like like like charging at the bed? Like charge at the bed and like like this is the bed for example. Fats here, I'm laying here. No, that's a bad example. >> the bed closer to the door or the >> No, I was So, Jamari was sleeping on it. That's the door. Jamari's bed is here, my bed's here. So, he kind of like he kind of like comes out from the This is obviously where the bed I just see a body just charge on top of the bed, right? So, once he does that, I'm thinking I'm in danger until like he kind of like we're on the bed and he kind of like I damn near fall off the bed from him trying to nudge me off the bed. So, I immediately hear this Jamari go, "Yo, yo, Shoshi, go, go, go." Like I'm hearing him do that and I'm seeing this boy on top of me like push me off trying to push me off the bed. So, I immediately look I don't see my friend. I don't see my friend and So, I'm not thinking about you, right? I'm not thinking about Fats. I'm damn near not thinking about myself. I'm thinking about my friend like where's my friend? So, I immediately run out and I go down the stairs and kind of a lightning walking through. No, not at all. Backtrack. I'm skipping steps. As I'm walking damn near out the door, I hear a scream. And then I hear two screams. I hear Jamari, I hear Fats, and then I hear pow pow pow pow pow like a couple of them things going on. Like I as I'm like stepping out the door which like rushes my adrenaline more because that's not what I think I'm thinking maybe a robbery or maybe like I'm thinking maybe a fight. Never would I think nobody was about to die that night. >> Back in Linnea's interrogation, police have had enough lies. They've seen the footage and it shows something completely different from what she's told them. In the footage, Jamari is seen outside the room in the hall casually chatting on his phone as the masked gunman enters the hall and heads for the room. Before he reaches the door, Linnea exits and walks by the gunman pretending not to even notice him. The two brush right by each other and before she's even at At end of the hallway, shots are fired. The footage tells police one very important thing. Linnea knew what was going to happen. She just didn't want to be present for it. >> You need to think really hard before you get involved. >> Okay. >> Do you know the whole thing's on camera? >> Yeah. >> Okay, you didn't start walking. You You didn't start running. You were walking. >> With all your stuff. >> You know that guy was first there waiting and that door opened. You need to think hard. Because we have stuff on camera that tells a different story. >> Okay. So, what is >> Hey, before you get too involved in this, all right? You need to think [clears throat] about your child. >> Okay. >> And that's not [ __ ] We're telling you the truth. >> Okay. >> Because the cameras, which she's already seen, tell a different story. >> Okay, tell me what it is telling. >> Well, we know dirt was with that guy and his car when he left. We saw the way you opened the door casually, turned, and walked. There wasn't no running. You didn't run. You didn't run. >> I did run. >> You had all your stuff with you. You didn't start running until you were out in that parking lot. You were out in the back parking lot when you started running. >> And I went down the stairs running. >> There was almost a minute in between the time that you made it to the bottom of that back parking lot back there when you heard gunshots and took off running. >> At this point, Linnea seems to realize that there's no getting out of the reality of her involvement, which really she should have realized from the beginning because the idea that you can do anything without being caught on camera in 2025 is frankly insane. >> Then why tell the truth? And y'all get proof. Am I going to have to look in his eyes in court and say it was him? Like he's going to know like I'm the one that put him in there. There's evidence and everything. >> But by that point, he can't hurt you anymore. Same thing. By that point, he can't hurt you. >> Okay. >> It doesn't matter. He's gone. >> Okay. So Elijah and What's the boy's name? I mean I don't know if the release doesn't know what they are, but they're closer to one and Jamari is kind of like he has a good decent hood so everybody is cool and so he's telling like if these boys are suspecting he's like doing weird things. Jamari was like y'all need to lay off him like this is not okay like y'all are doing weird stuff. So then he was generally saying like the first half of the story is true. The boy went to get up and he said he was going to go with this but he changed his mind. He said he didn't want to go. And so then wait And Ari Yoshi were sweet and like they were aware of what was going on but Jamari was like no like this is all going to get me in trouble cuz he was the last person seen with me this that and the third. I was like yeah I understand but he's not and if there's any and like before anything happens I want to get gone like I don't care like I just I just want to get my stuff and get gone. So the whole night like his cousin was like just he was like if you don't open the door I'm going to just shoot the window down I'm going to bust the window down like and whoever here is his cousin. >> He go by Latari. His name is Latari. >> Latari? >> Latari. >> Johnson. >> Latari Johnson. >> Okay. >> So, how did you know that he was going to shoot the window down because of Jamari? >> He was telling Nate me that and I feel like him and Jamari would have it easy to get to me as you can see. Um >> Was it by a call or was it by text? >> Like both. He was blowing me up. >> Mhm. >> And um he was like um Elijah, he was like he consistently just wouldn't get off my friend like and so like she was just trying to go to sleep because he wouldn't just stop touching her. Jamari, when he died, he's just no good. Like there's no getting to him like so he just text me like basically if he has to shoot down the window, he'll shoot down the window. Whatever. You know he got money on him. His homeboy text me saying um what y'all got going on. Nana hit me up saying that y'all there. I said no, bro. That boy don't have no money on him. We went home. We're not even there. He was like, "Y'all lying on my mama cuz my my sister dropped y'all off." >> Basically you opened the door for Latari so it didn't get to that point. We had to kick it in. >> You had to kick it in quickly. >> Okay. That's true. >> And that's what we can see that on video. >> That's true. >> Yeah. I just wanted to get going. I didn't I didn't I didn't wake up Jamari. I didn't wake up Yoshi. I wanted to get out there. I wasn't thinking about nobody but myself. I tried to wake up Jamari. Jamari wouldn't get up. I felt bad for him. Like I just >> [snorts] >> And Jamari he he got blood on him and it makes it worse cuz it's like you were you were in there. Like and it makes it harder to like, you know, point a finger cuz you don't know what the other person look like, but Jamari, you have more evidence. And I can't let you go down for somebody else. And you got baby mama. I'm my baby. I did something myself. >> I want to say the same thing to him. Like, dude. Oh, yeah. That's your child. You know what I mean? >> Yeah. >> Smart decisions, right? >> In fact, the child discussion is exactly what police use when they speak with Jamari, although he's not quite as receptive as Lenea is, even when police make the footage of him known. >> You have a child coming, right? Okay. So, here's what's going to happen. We're not going to start with a lie. Does your child needs you living? >> Of course. >> Is there a life? She needs you. You're her life. Jamari, tell us what happened. All right? Because we confronted her with what was on the camera all on that building, and how it I totally contradicts everything you said. >> Yeah. >> Oh, yeah. We know the name. We know what happened. Well, let's not start this song and a lie. Your child needs you. Don't [ __ ] us. I'm telling you don't [ __ ] us. Cuz we have evidence. >> And the camera footage is pristine. >> Now, we know Lenea opened the door. We saw it on the camera. >> Lenea was kicking the door down and all that like that that that that wasn't to my knowledge at all. Like, I didn't even know that Jamari was there after Jamari. That's what I'm saying. Like, we all chilling in the room and stuff like that. We Jamari >> kicked open the door. What what do you think? >> I didn't even know it was him. Like, I don't like >> When did you notice that your baby mama left the room? >> Right when I was She woke me up. She woke me up. She said, [clears throat] "Baby, um See, the thing is, she knows she she got got some sense on her. I took She She said, "Baby, I'm hungry." I said, "What you want to eat?" She looked Everything was closed besides Walmart. She was going to go to ask Walmart just to ask [ __ ] like that. She went outside. All right, it's like right when she went outside, like 10 seconds later, before I can even like move, get up out of the room, whatever, Lotto Like Oh, no, this is what I'm having a problem with cuz I know at some point you were with Lotto that did this tonight. Last night? Yeah. No, like I will go back down to Brown's Inn. Cuz we have a video footage of you there with him after the shooting. >> We have a video footage of you running out with him. >> No, I don't >> out of the car with him. >> Huh? >> Yeah. >> Mhm. >> [clears throat] >> I told you the video footage is really good. >> No. I appreciate >> I want you to think really hard cuz we're back at the point of no you having to worry again. >> Don't feed me no lot of [ __ ] >> There's cameras everywhere. >> Scratch everything I just said. Scratch everything I just said. Scratch everything I just said. >> Don't feed me no lot of [ __ ] >> Scratch everything I just said. >> Yeah, you right. I had a towel over me. I got to scratch out the camera, bro. I'm going to do it. I was doing this stupid [ __ ] dude. [ __ ] started started with this stupid [ __ ] >> Yes, sir. I'm sorry. >> Bro, Lotto knew that fact that he was having a lot of money on him. So, we all got a room and stuff like that and we was all supposed to be chilling and stuff like that. >> Okay. >> Lotto I I I don't know my baby mama had text Lotto or whatever cuz my G, I swear to God I'm not lying about this. I didn't never text Lotto. I never called him on my phone none of that like I never talked to I never talked to him. All I know is that my baby mama and all was talking to Lotto or whatever and stuff like that and she told Lotto that we was at the hotel and stuff and when she Lotto found out we was at the hotel with Fat, that's when like stuff just went sideways and stuff like that. Lotto was I guess Lotto said that he was going to come in there and blow or he was going to go in there and do what he had to do and if Nardo opened the door that he was he was just going to do what he had to do and I was like damn scared what do I do and I was like I don't know but like like like like just go like just go like whatever. So she opened the door and then she was like babe I don't know what I was going to do but I don't want to be in here while he do it. So I'm just like just go just go. Like Yoshi was sleeping. I'm trying to wake Yoshi up. I like Yoshi I'm trying to wake Yoshi up. Right when I got up I was going to go like Yoshi was laying down on the bed. Yoshi was laying down on the bed. I was going to go wake Yoshi up. I'm like Yoshi like we got like I don't know what but he talking about how them boys they still want that from earlier or whatever and [ __ ] like that and that like it was like if y'all know anybody y'all better get or whatever and [ __ ] like that. So of course me not thinking anything of it like yeah I love fighting them but I'll be damned before I sit in the room and die with somebody when I know I got a future myself you know and [ __ ] like that. So my girl she was already scared when she got up she just took off and she just she just took off and then I was when everything happened I just ran out. I'm like what everything happened but then I >> Tell us what happened in the room. >> Yes ma'am. >> Was he armed or did he shoot the man with his own gun or was he already armed? >> I I could have swore he had already had a gun on him but I could be wrong though he probably could have had a shotgun but it just happened too fast like for him like it happened too fast. >> When he came in that room and charged toward that bed what was your first thought what popped in your head? >> What the >> What? >> What is an off reaction? What what >> He tripping like he tripping he tripping and tripping like he tripping and then it's like while we're in the room he got up Yoshi got up she she screaming she yelling she ran. I'm like >> Did he call out my name like Latarian or Jonathan or anything like >> No sir I wasn't I didn't even call him by his name. I didn't even say anything. I'm just I'm just like, "Man, this [ __ ] going down." Like >> At this point, Jamari seems to forget that the footage literally shows him following the shooter, Lotto, through the parking lot and stopping to speak with the driver of the car and the shooter at length. >> I started running out. Well, he headed out the door before you cuz you were like right behind him, right? It was him and Theo, yeah. >> Did you say What did you say to him like at the car? I mean >> To Lotto? >> He said, "We all got through the woods to the car." What conversation It was a conversation. And who was driving the car? Cuz he got in the passenger seat. >> got I don't know that. I Yeah, I ran to the car. >> You know because you had a conversation with the driver. >> Who No. >> You spoke to the driver in that vehicle. >> No, ma'am. I No, ma'am. I swear to God on my mother, I didn't speak to no driver in the vehicle. >> You did. Why do you keep lying? Honestly, why do you keep lying? Just explain to me why you're lying. Are you scared? I'm going to tell you like I tell everybody. This is what happens when you put yourself in big boy stuff. It's big boy consequences. >> Big boy consequences that Jamari somehow doesn't realize the extent of, but unfortunately for him, Jair Marcus, who was the getaway driver, knows that the more he can frame himself as just the driver, the easier he may get off. So, he tells [music] police a lot of details everyone left out, including the fact that everyone in the hotel room was in on the planned robbery of Elijah and what he did with the gun after the fact. >> You know why? Cuz I wasn't supposed to be no shooting. He was supposed to go in there and put pillow over his head. So, I wasn't even supposed to put pillow over his head and smother him like that. Like that. Now they kill him and they going to pocket the damn chip and pull off on him and walk out. But I've been telling them the whole time it's not going to be that easy. The man got two or three times. He's not going to Y'all Y'all think I'm just going to walk out of the hotel and come get in my car and he's not going to do nothing? And I don't want to be getting shot up or anything. I don't want nothing. Y'all I'm telling y'all. I've been telling them They don't care. Nobody don't give a [ __ ] about me. call me a >> Where was that gun thrown at? >> I told them that when I got on my way home to get on my on on I when I went home I stopped on the side of the road and actually you get rid of all these guns, bro. I really shouldn't have kept them, bro. >> Police have everything they need to put not just one person away, but four. And now they're ready to question the shooter himself. Though out of everyone, he puts up the biggest fight, which makes sense because he has the most to lose. >> At that hotel, not only did it have 360 cameras, it had great audio. Okay? Not only did the hotel have great video and audio, the business next to the hotel had great cameras. Okay? When you're ready, we're here to listen, okay? >> I wouldn't even think about it. I just told you all. I'm ready. >> Okay. >> I don't know what you're talking about. >> Okay, but we have people talking to us. This is facts. This is evidence, okay? This is video. This is This is audio. And I think you hearing your own voice in this audio will help you show that this is reality. This is for you. We are here [clears throat] for you. No one else. It would be nothing to arrest you tonight and walk you across the street to the jail. That's That's the That's the easy part. >> I didn't know that was the I didn't know that was the case. >> Because every case everyone matters. >> Yeah, I'm sure of that. >> It's not about right or wrong. You are a person. You are someone's son. You are someone's father. I remember on road show dealing with you and your first baby mama where your son getting older >> Yeah. >> and having to go to Mercy. And that was me and how we talked. >> Yeah, I know. I remember. >> So this isn't about right or wrong. You are a person and this is your life. >> We have everything that was involved in that case, man. Everything. I'm crazy though. >> I understand like You were there or like >> I know you I know you're going to keep saying Listen, I don't I hear you, bro. I know you're going to say that, but listen, I want you to understand that being real don't lie, man. >> You know? >> And don't lie. >> They're not going to see the father that I know. Those facts. I want you to hear this I don't know if I can say what you say. Y'all got facts and stuff like that. But I'm here. >> Because we wanted You know why? You want the honest That's the honest >> Yeah, cuz you want to hear my side. >> Yeah. >> My story time. >> That's the honest truth. >> Mhm. >> What made you kill someone? >> I didn't kill nobody. I don't have no gun no I don't own no gun there. >> Wait, you're telling me you're on video and you didn't do nothing. >> I didn't kill nobody. You didn't even see me kill someone I didn't kill nobody. >> What were you doing there? Were you visiting your your friend Bo? What happened? How did you get there? I know how you got there, but >> What do you mean I got I got to get there? >> You know how you got there. You know where you guys parked. You know everything. I know it. >> No. >> You know how. >> I don't know how you know how. >> I'll tell you You know I already know if I find you know that I know, man. I personally don't believe that you went there with the intention to kill someone. Is that what I'm going to tell you, but I know that you were there. >> But police know from speaking with everyone present and the extensive surveillance footage that Latarius did kill someone and finally after over an hour of prodding they bring in the evidence to prove it. >> I can't believe you're allowed >> Yeah, but you're not going to hear it. There's no way that court reporter is going to hear that because these kids were traumatized. So, I'll I'll let you watch yourself in the hallway. That's it. Mr. Murray, that's it. That is what I sent you. >> Oh, but can you send it to me? How can you say that we actually only put in this footage? Can I see more I want to see more footage. >> Of course you do. Of course you do. >> How can you say that we only How can you say that we only put >> I just showed you a video of Jamar screaming your name. >> He was not screaming my name. >> He screamed Latto. >> No. >> Clear as day. >> No. >> You know what they as police officers what we're not allowed to do? You know the one thing we're not allowed to do? That I would lose my badge over. >> What are you talking about showing a video? >> Fabricated evidence. You know what that means? >> No. >> Fake evidence. That is real life video footage. That is from all the hotel of Jamar screaming your name, Latto. >> No. >> And it gets worse. That conversation that y'all had going to the car, that's captured as well. >> Yeah. Me and him going to the car? >> Running through those bushes when y'all got to that car, that's all captured. Every bit of it. I'm not going to sit here. I'm not going to waste my time cuz this takes me away from my family talking to you. But I pushed my family aside to come talk to you to help you. >> No, I mean, y'all Y'all said y'all got evidence and stuff like that. You're not wasting I'm saying? >> That's okay. You being a big tough guy. >> I'm not trying >> You're going to see how far it gets you. >> I'm not trying >> And you're going to look back at this interview and you're going to remember our faces and how we tried to help you. >> I'm not trying to be no tough guy. >> You are, though. >> Uh, I'm not >> You are. Everyone else, you know who they chose? They chose themselves. And I don't blame them. And coming into here, him telling me about you, I thought for a fact, father of three, he's going to choose himself. He's going to choose his life >> tough guy. >> which you're not. You know that you're not. >> You keep You keep saying my name so like that y'all trying to make it seem like I had committed that or something. I did not do that. >> You were not choosing yourself. As a matter of fact, you're not choosing your children. That's what you need to think about in this situation. Can I tell my story? Can I tell what happened? Can my sentence be reduced? Can I go home to those babies? Absolutely. Can I sit here and be prideful and deny evidence right in front of my face? And do a life sentence, possibly the death penalty. That's the decision that you have to make. Me and him are going to step out this room and you think about that. Let's go. >> Thinking about it, you know what I'm saying? >> Go home to your babies. Go home to your babies. Or do life in it. >> I can really do that. But I did not commit it at all. But you know what's up. >> Okay. Let's go. Let him go and think about it. >> You got to be honest with me. Well, I mean, you got to be honest with me. You have to. You can't lie to me. I know what you You know what's up. You know, you trying to say I committed I did not commit that. I did not do that. Were you there? I did not commit that. Are you going to lie to me? Were you there? You know what I'm saying? That's all we did. You know what I'm saying? Be straight with me, man. I'm not freaking one of them yet, I'm over there, man. >> I'm not I'm trying to I'm being straight with you. >> You know you were there, right? >> I'm trying to be straight with you. >> You know you were there? >> No, I wasn't there. >> I mean I got the video footage of y'all saying you screamed my name. >> I'm being honest with you. If you're not going to be straight with me. >> I'm not being honest. >> I am being honest. >> Can you hang tight for a little bit, okay? >> All right. >> Ultimately, Latarius didn't cave despite being forced to watch footage of himself seconds before and after murdering someone. As of the publishing of this video, all five of the suspects, Latarius, Jamari, Lenear, Ja'marcus, and Yoshabel, have been charged with first-degree murder, robbery with a firearm, and use of a two-way with first-degree premeditated murder, and use of a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony.
