Devon McCollum discovered that crossing multiple lanes of interstate traffic on foot is not a viable strategy for professional athletes or fugitives. As a convicted felon on parole, he now has plenty of time to explain his brilliant escape plan to a judge. He was found with suspected narcotics, adding a few more chapters to his already lengthy criminal biography. On August 11th, 2024, during the afternoon hours, a routine Florida Highway Patrol traffic stop suddenly shifted gears when the driver refused to comply. Instead of answering for simple violations, the suspect accelerated away and forced troopers into pursuit. Vehicle. 301 Kentucky. Don't move. Don't move. You know what? I have no life, bro. The chase concluded with the driver placed under arrest after a pit maneuver brought the vehicle to a stop. He now faces charges related to fleeing and attempting to elude law enforcement along with traffic violations tied to the initial stop. The passenger was also detained and the case moved forward through the local court system. A black Mustang with Kentucky tags was spotted tearing through Trrowdale County on the afternoon of September 30th, 2025. The driver apparently felt that a high-speed pursuit and swerving at deputies was a valid way to spend his Tuesday. >> He's taking off. >> 814. He's taking off. He's right there at 810. He is now facing a laundry list of charges ranging from assault on a law man to driving without insurance. His Mustang was impounded due to some very questionable paperwork. A hearing is already scheduled to determine just how long he will be staying as a guest of the county. The first day of 2026 started with a very loud bang for a pair of suspects in a stolen Honda. Authorities in Arkansas were notified that a high-speed pursuit was heading their way at speeds exceeding 100 mph. 625 county Circle TV 42. CFS com. We're back to Parag North. Right. The result of this New Year's Day drama was a successful felony takedown involving multiple law enforcement agencies. Both the driver and the passenger were placed under arrest without further incident after their vehicle became disabled. It was a very productive start to the year for the local police departments. The stolen Honda has finally been retired from its life of crime. A local racetrack gas station became the stage for a white Ford F350's grand escape on August 26th, 2024. The driver was sporting a stolen license plate from Pennsylvania. A bold-fashioned choice for someone trying to keep a low profile. 23. Yeah. 96. 93. Samuel Martin Road Rhodess eventually traded his heavyduty truck for a set of matching steel bracelets and a fresh booking photo. His passenger, Misty Stove, also joined the party once officers discovered the vehicle was essentially a mobile pharmacy for drug paraphernalia. It turns out that having an active warrant for eluding in New Jersey makes for a very poor reference on a professional resume. On November 7th, 2025, around 8:00 p.m., a deputy in McCracken County noticed a pickup truck towing a camper driving recklessly with a flat tire when the driver ignored attempts to stop the situation intensified as multiple agencies joined the pursuit through the Lone Oak area. >> 21 right on towards New North. Authorities later confirmed he did not survive, and investigators stated no law enforcement officer discharged a weapon. The incident remains under review as part of a multi- agency investigation. Lee County troopers were on high alert on June 17th, 2024 when Joseph Stanley Jerez Owens appeared on their radar. He was pushing a Kawasaki motorcycle to 120 mph while sporting a very suspicious and obscured license plate. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. 131. [music] Stay right about travel. 168 go. arm. >> The impact of his decision-making resulted in a messy collision and a stack of felony charges for eluding the law. Mr. Owens discovered that resisting handcuffs is a losing game. He was eventually hauled off to face several counts of reckless driving and property damage. His motorcycle career has been put on an indefinite hold while he navigates the Florida legal system. November 23rd, 2024 saw David Gilbert making a series of very poor decisions, starting with a broken tag light and ending with a high-speed head-on collision. He maneuvered his Dodge Avenger onto the wrong side of the road with a complete lack of concern for anyone else's safety. >> Coming up to 85 now. We're going going northbound 85. >> They just crossed over the medium. Uh 85 going back southbound. It's a black Dodge 41 41 41 right here at Main where you want. >> Show me youring hands. I'm in the parking lot of the Family Dollar. You start a four on arrest. Gilbert was eventually apprehended in the bushes after a taser failed to penetrate his thick winter wardrobe. The innocent driver he struck, Miss Harris, had to be transported to the hospital for her injuries. While Gilbert was processed for 15 separate charges, he eventually signed himself out of medical care only to be handed directly over to the staff at the county jail. May 25th, 2023 started with a welfare check at an Olive Garden that quickly spiraled into a high-speed buffet of bad decisions. Aramus Butler allegedly snatched a woman's car and fled the scene, proving that neverending breadsticks aren't the only thing that can last far too long. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Get on the ground. Get out. Dispatch just north of North cars crash or do a hybrid stop. [screaming] >> 14 hours. My license arm up here. Butler capped off his evening by reportedly spitting at the arresting officers, a move that earned him a $3,500 cash bond. No bystanders or officers were injured during the chaotic arrest in the parking lot. He now faces multiple criminal charges, proving that running from the law is a recipe for a very expensive disaster. Orange County became a playground for a reckless biker on July 12th, 2024. Taj Anthony Haynes was spotted operating a motorcycle without a license plate and promptly performed an illegal U-turn to avoid a patrol car. I copy 1031 call 333 traffic at this time 1720. The charges authorized against Mr. Hannes include felony fleeing and operating a motorcycle without a license. He was [music] eventually cornered on East Colonial Drive after nearly causing several collisions with innocent motorists. His night of jumping medians at 130 mph has earned him a permanent spot in the Florida criminal database. While most people were enjoying their holiday on May 30th, 2021, Deputy Hernandez was busy hunting a murder suspect in a bright orange Jeep. The suspect made the mistake of stopping in the middle of an intersection, effectively handing the deputy an invitation to a high-speed pursuit. >> Shut it off. Shut the car off. 649 Charlie the highway. >> All right, I'm going to need you to slow down. I can't understand. Heat. Heat. Yeah, down. middle. You got the radio. Brandon Take1 Boozer eventually traded his freedom for a 28-year stay in a South Carolina state prison. He will remain behind bars until at least 2045, at which point he will be 58 years old and hopefully much less inclined toward violence. The legal system ensured this case was closed with a hefty sentence, providing a somber conclusion to a weekend that began with a life taken too soon. 81-year-old John Leon White gave Conway officers a very confusing welfare check on September 20th, 2025. He was spotted wandering the streets in a Kia Forge with a flat tire and no lights on in the middle of the night. >> He's going down the wrong side of the the highway on 65. Uh 48 miles an hour past the Volonia cutoff. The highway is no longer divided. Still in the opposite line. Conway is back on our side of the road. >> Make sure you give them in case. >> Copy. Oh. Middle of the road. >> They're pushing pushing. pushing with you. >> Asking for your call. Do you want to call out this old man? >> The primary lesson here is that age is just a number, but traffic laws are mandatory for everyone. Mr. White was eventually presented with a very long receipt of charges, including reckless driving and a violation of the Omnibus DWI Act. It appears this late night excursion has resulted in a permanent spot on the local police blotter. His days of hazardous midnight cruising are likely over. July 14th, 2025 marked a tense patrol shift in Lancaster County when South Carolina Highway Patrol units were alerted to a stolen vehicle out of North Carolina. Trooper Ferrari located the car speeding north on Highway 521 and the driver refused to stop for blue lights. >> One Van Wick Road, 521 at Vanwick Road. We turning left on Van Wick Road 13. Traffic is medium. Let us clear. You can try to hit him off. We might get spikes filled up on 69. If he slows down and you can get a P on him, what's speeds are 73. Still traveling Van Wick Road. GET OUT OF THE CAR. >> Shawn Johnson was taken into custody after abandoning the vehicle and attempting to flee. He was charged with failure to stop for blue lights and driving without a license while additional warrants for possession of a stolen vehicle were pursued. The vehicle was confirmed stolen and transported for further processing. A stolen pickup truck nearly collided with a city vehicle in Houston on October 1st, 2020. This reckless maneuver sparked a halfhour pursuit that saw the driver repeatedly weaving into oncoming traffic and circling the same neighborhoods >> on the feeder road of the Gulf Freeway south of Telephone Road. This is where this chase started, southeast [music] part of Houston. Looks like he's going in the wrong direction. That's southbound 45 trying to turn around and head the wrong way. We have two police helicopters up above. We have numerous HPD officers on the ground. And again, he's heading northbound in the southbound direction of the Gulf Freeway, heading back towards Telephone Road. This is where we picked up the [music] chase reportedly for a stolen vehicle. From what I can see, it looked to me that it was a male driver uh in this pickup truck. Again, allegedly a stolen pickup truck who's been driving erratically several near misses. And now you can see uh caught in a parking lot here uh near a gas station. So many times it looked like the driver was boxed in but was able to maneuver his way around as he's doing right now. And you can see how many police officers are behind him on the feeder road of the Gulf Freeway heading southbound [music] towards Telephone Road. It looks like they might be performing the pit maneuver here shortly, trying to get to the uh rear of the vehicle. [music] usually performed under 40 miles per hour where they just tap the back of the vehicle. Just crossing Lawndale and again in the wrong direction. Writing the median and going in the wrong direction. And it looks like a we do have an accident here. The first accident that I have seen. He has hit another vehicle as numerous police officers are behind him. It looked like it might be coming to an end right now. Again, collided with another vehicle going in the wrong direction. Smoke coming from the vehicle. Yes, it appears to be over. They do have him uh handcuffed. Several people handcuffed. Two in custody. Two in custody. The ultimate lesson from this chaos is that running from the law only adds more years to an inevitable sentence. The suspect was found to be carrying a handgun and three active felony warrants at the time of his arrest. Thankfully, the two small children in the Dodge Charger escaped serious injury after their terrifying encounter with the stolen truck. On December 8th, 2025 in Valuchia County, Florida, a BMW convertible was reported stolen from Bsentennial Park after being left unlocked with the keys inside. Minutes later, deputies responded to a crash involving the same vehicle at Old Dixie Highway and Plantation Oaks Boulevard. >> Hi. >> Hi. >> What's wrong? >> I got my car stolen >> from here. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> I got here at 3 uh4 to 3 >> and I came back down here at 3 4 3:30 and it was gone. Um, I had left the keys in the cup holder and closed the cup holder. >> Okay. >> Um, and so >> Okay. Were you out here with anybody that might have grabbed it? >> That might have What? >> That somebody you were with that might have taken it home or anything? >> No, I was by myself. >> All right. >> Yeah. Who did you see get into it? >> Uh, it was a guy probably maybe 30 years old. Uh, it wasn't his car. >> No. I kept looking at him cuz he asked me if I had light. I was like, "There's no way he drives a BMW." >> Would you be able to identify that guy if you ever saw him again? >> Yeah. >> Okay. He's 30-y old white male. >> 30-y old white male. Uh shoulder length hair. >> Blonde. >> Blonde. Yeah. A little bit like me when I was younger. >> Uh he kept asking for a light and I was like, "How in the world does he have a BMW if he doesn't have a light for a cigarette?" >> Okay. Blonde. Shoulder length hair. >> Yep. 130 mph and I swear to God. Do you have a fire extinguisher? >> I got in the car. I don't know. I teleport or something. >> Where'd you get the car from? >> I don't know. I don't know. >> I don't know. I teleported. >> Where's your fire? Your fire. >> Come here. Give me just one second. Put your hands up on my car. >> Or the hot. >> Did you come from Bsentennial Park? >> You came from >> Bsentennial Park. came from north. >> They told me X-Men to do it. >> Okay. But the dog park, >> I don't know. The X-Men told me I don't do that stuff. >> Calvin Curtis Johnson, aged 36, was detained after witnesses removed him from the wrecked BMW. He now faces charges of grand theft of a motor vehicle and driving with a suspended license. He was transported for medical treatment before being booked into the Valuchia County branch jail. Missouri state troopers found themselves in a deadly game of cat and mouse on September 6th, 2024. Ryan Phillips was the man behind the wheel of a red Range Rover, a suspect wanted for a terrifying arson, and the disappearance of his former partner. He just took off from the traffic stop on approach eastbound 44 in the far right lane. >> Approach 455. >> What' you say? >> 68. Well, when we can see him, but he's leaving through traffic right now, and traffic's heavy. And he just passed on the shoulder. >> No, he's passing traffic on the shoulder. CNI, >> you take on the shoulder. He's exiting it. Oh, I'm behind him now. He almost lost control in the ramp. Clear. >> We're taking a ride on him. I'm directly behind him. Uh, let's be south on him. behind him. He's passing my shoulder. Traffic's heavy. And he just ran a stop sign. He just ran a red light at Watson. And we're still south. Now, what's your speed? >> I'm at 60 right now. We're passing party road. >> 1050. Rolled over. Start EMS. PUT YOUR HANDS UP [screaming] RIGHT NOW. PUT YOUR HANDS UP. PUT YOUR HANDS UP. Put your hands in the air. Drop it. >> Well, shots fired. We still fire. HOLD FIRE. DROPPED IT. >> SIX. WELL, now I believe he's been shot in the head. He dropped the gun. I don't know if anyone else is in the car. PUT YOUR HANDS [screaming] UP RIGHT NOW. PUT your Get him. [screaming] HOLD FIRE. HE DROPPED IT. >> 10 FOUR >> SHOTS FIRED. I believe he's been shot. He drop. I don't know if anyone else in the car. This tragedy serves as a grim reminder that a history of violence rarely leads to a quiet retirement. Both the suspect and his passenger were gone by the time the dust settled on that Missouri roadside, leaving a young daughter to pick up the pieces of a shattered life. Investigators later determined that the victim had likely passed away well before the high-speed drama even began. May 17th, 2025, a South Carolina trooper located a silver Chevrolet Silverado connected to a hit-and-run collision. When the driver attempted to flee and struck the patrol car, the trooper immediately initiated pursuit. >> 910, you show me 1023. I believe the other involved party is 1012 here at old Charleston Palm branch 109. He just struck me. He's taking off. Go ahead. 103. >> I'm going down Old Charleston right now. YOU DIDN'T STOP ANYBODY. >> I didn't hit anyone. >> Michael Terrence Sour was transported for medical evaluation before being booked into the Lexington County Detention Center. He was charged with driving under the influence first offense failure to stop for blue lights and two counts of hitand-run attended vehicle. The case moved forward following his release from the hospital without reported injuries. And that wraps up this pursuit, but this is only scratching the surface of what unfolds next.
