October 1st, 2024 began with a rather bold career change for one woman who decided a stolen service van was her ticket to freedom. Clayton County deputies were alerted to a white Nissan cruising near Flint River Road. They were more than happy to provide a professional escort for the unlicensed technician. Stand by. >> Back one radio on Flint River coming up Boulevard. >> I'm clear. Hey, somebody thought that passenger street. >> I'm going try again. Stand by right there. 60 mph road. I'll be calling radio ubi uh 138 coming up on government sharp 138. >> Pete Pete Pee, roll over. Roll over. >> Reach up. reach up. >> You put her in her down. The suspect seemed more concerned with her lighting than her legal rights. She famously requested a photo shoot during her final moments of freedom. She was eventually chauffeurred to the Clayton County Jail to contemplate her brief stint in the heating and air conditioning industry. This budding influencer found out the hard way that the only thing rolling in this neighborhood is the law. May 31st, 2023 proved that a mismatched license plate is the ultimate invitation for the city of Kain's police department to join your morning commute. Officer Jay Bruno spotted a Honda Accord, acting suspiciously shy. However, Melvin Marquez decided he was not in the mood for a roadside chat. That vehicle still headed westbound, approaching segment road, passing Farmer this time. West on 560 company for also signal. intersection. >> Radio just pass intersection. Roll over. >> Roll over. Do not reach for anything. >> Give me your other hand. Marquez eventually traded his driver's seat for a bunk, receiving an 8-year sentence with 3 years of mandatory state prison time. He is expected to breathe free air again in May 2026, provided he can settle over $6,000 in fines. It turns out that taking the plea deal was the only fast move that actually worked out for him. The holiday season took a dark turn on December 23rd, 2023 when Kevin Jacobs found himself at the center of a highstakes kidnapping investigation. Sergeant Schwarz spotted the fugitive on Verona Road. He was determined to ensure this unauthorized road trip ended much sooner than Jacobs planned. right here. If you want to go in the turn, >> you're on junction. You just passed Garfield. You're coming up directly. Sorry. He uh just turned on right here. All right. Come back up to junction route. He wouldn't let me out. >> You okay? >> You okay? >> Oh, yeah. Okay. >> Thank you. >> Jacobs was promptly hauled off to face the music while the arresting officer evaluated his new, albeit accidental, career as a submarine captain. The incident report remains open as the department tallies the cost of a waterlogged patrol vehicle. Justice was served with a side of pond water, ensuring this kidnapping suspect won't be taking any more unsolicited trips. In the early hours of June 8th, 2024, a white Jeep Renegade decided to turn the streets of Rogers into a personal playground. Arkansas State Police were called in to assist low officers after the driver decided that traffic laws were merely friendly suggestions. We're keeping Stop moving. >> [screaming] >> Who's on the radio? here southbound 64 primary is going to be forward now. It's >> [screaming] >> Hey, hold on. Legal proceedings followed to address the trail of property damage left across multiple private parking lots and fields. It was a long night for the local tow truck operators who had the pleasure of clearing the wreckage from the grass. July 31st, 2025 was a bad day to have illegal window tint and a heavy foot in Clayton County. Mr. Smith learned this lesson the hard way when his Dodge Challenger caught the eye of the Blackhawk unit during a routine patrol on Flint River Road. for radio show right be road northbound speed 73 mph whoever is behind me called >> [screaming] >> [ __ ] You got to stop. I ain't got no gun. >> Nothing. >> All right. Hang on. Hang on. >> Yes, sir. >> Smith was ultimately escorted to the Clayton County Jail after failing a secondary cardio test against the pursuing deputy. He later admitted that his frantic flight was fueled by a lack of insurance, a problem that pales in comparison to his new felony record. This residential racer won't be cutting off any more traffic for the foreseeable future. While most people were enjoying their holiday on May 30th, 2021, Deputy Hernandez was busy hunting a murder suspect in a bright orange Jeep. The suspect made the mistake of stopping in the middle of an intersection, effectively handing the deputy an invitation to a high-speed pursuit. Shut it off. Shut the car off. 29 Charlie. The legal system ensured this case was closed with a hefty sentence, providing a somber conclusion to a weekend that began with a life taken too soon. May 25th, 2023 started with a welfare check at an Olive Garden that quickly spiraled into a high-speed buffet of bad decisions. Aramus Butler allegedly snatched a woman's car and fled the scene, proving that never-ending bread sticks aren't the only thing that can last far too long. >> He's taking off. Heat. Heat. GET ON THE GROUND. GET OUT of Dispatch, just north of North Cars crash and do a harder stop. [screaming] >> 14 hours. My license aren't working, so I make my way. One more up here. >> Butler capped off his evening by reportedly spitting at the arresting officers, a move that earned him a $3,500 cash bond. No bystanders or officers were injured during the chaotic arrest in the parking lot. He now faces multiple criminal charges, proving that running from the law is a recipe for a very expensive disaster. On November 16th, 2023, a brand new Cadillac became the centerpiece of a very public domestic dispute on Highway 167. The driver was more interested in chatting with her wife on the phone than addressing her 90 mph speed habit. Trooper L was not exactly impressed by her multitasking skills or her choice of open containers. >> Oh, we going about I pass him low. They think it's a it's a bad thing when you pass them low. It is when you're going 90 to 65. It is. Yes. Yes, it is. You also got two open containers. >> I got two open containers. Hold on. >> Well, don't. >> Okay. >> Now, you about to litter. >> OH MY GOD. I'm good. >> The suspect [snorts] was eventually treated by medical professionals after a brief and painful encounter with the side of a patrol vehicle. She was booked for driving under the influence and fleeing while her wife expressed a very relatable frustration over the destruction of their new car. This late night turkey leg run ended with a jail cell, proving that some phone calls really should be saved for later. June 1st, 2023 saw the Florida Turnpike transformed into a high-speed obstacle course by a man in a Ford Taurus. James Jerry Dawn Williams thought he could treat the highway like a video game, clocking in at a staggering 123 mph while dodging trooper Lampia and trooper Yep Tovar. You signal it over. You got his hands up. Clean your hands. Williams was eventually pried away from his cell phone and placed into handcuffs, facing a long list of charges, including possession of over 20 gram of marijuana. His laundry list of legal issues already included a suspended license and an outstanding felony warrant for grand theft. The wreckage of a rolled over tractor trailer served as a grim reminder of his recklessness. But fortunately, everyone involved survived the impact. A routine check for expired tags on July 9th, 2024 turned into a tripledigit nightmare on Interstate 630. Ryan Ward decided that a silver Lexus was the perfect vehicle for a 123 mph escape attempt from trooper Trey Smith. 147. You guys are really He just crashed down. Roll over 16. >> LET ME SEE YOUR HANDS RIGHT NOW. LET ME SEE YOUR HANDS. LET ME SEE YOUR HANDS. LET ME SEE YOUR HANDS RIGHT NOW. >> Let me see your hands. >> GET ON YOUR STOMACH. >> GET ON YOUR STOMACH OR I'M ABOUT TO PUT YOU ON YOUR STOMACH. >> Ward was eventually restrained and treated for his injuries before being booked for felony fleeing and possession of a loaded firearm. This aspiring escape artist is now facing a future behind bars where he won't have to worry about his expired registration for a very long time. The pursuit of his medical recovery began at Baptist Health Medical Center following his sudden exit from the car. February 4th, 2022 featured a 30-inute tour of Milwaukee that the local tourism board definitely didn't approve. Three suspects led police on a winding journey through the city. Seemingly unaware that Greenfield officers were waiting ahead with a very warm welcome reckless driving. We are now going to be stand. We're going to be southbound 160th. South stand by one second. I promise you. >> I promise you. [snorts] >> The trio was eventually rounded up without any injuries to themselves or the officers, ending their evening in a much less glamorous fashion than they had planned. One suspect attempted a brief career in cross country running over local fences, but he was quickly outpaced by the long arm of the law. They are now facing a mountain of charges, proving that three is definitely a crowd when it comes to criminal conspiracies. January 21st, 2025 brought a whole new meaning to a close shave when a local barber was spotted in a white Cadillac. Bobby Lee Atkins had already dodged the police once, but Clayton County deputies were determined to make sure he didn't get a second haircut on the house. >> Stop the cop. Hey, took off. Took off. I got one taking off on me. We're going to be flagged down GSP. 93. We're still on Le and Highway. Damn. I got you. Okay, y'all get off the radio. There you go. >> What did I do, sir? >> What did I do? >> I'm sorry. >> All right. Please, sir, tell me what I did. Tell me what I did, sir. >> Atkins was eventually taken to the hospital where tests revealed a cocktail of alcohol and cocaine in his system. He was later discharged and booked into the Clayton County Jail. Facing a series of charges, including driving under the influence, his Cadillac suffered substantial damage, which is a fitting end for a man who decided to mix narcotics with high-speed maneuvers. The quiet afternoon of March 16th, 2022 was shattered by a bank robbery suspect who thought he could outrun the law on Highway 14. Santa Fe authorities were in hot pursuit as the fugitive pushed his vehicle to over 100 mph in a desperate bid for freedom. about 277 I got to shut down the 287 >> 183. I got it spiked at the 297. SHOW IT OFF. SHUT IT OFF. SHUT IT OFF. HEY, I GOT COMMANDS. SHUT HIM OFF. SHUT THE CAR OFF. SHUT THE CAR OFF. [screaming] SHUT THE CAR OFF. >> THE suspect's flight was terminated after a lengthy pursuit across the county, leaving him with nothing but a pair of handcuffs to show for his efforts. He was promptly handed over to detectives to answer for his alleged crimes against the local bank. Officers checked each other for injuries, relieved that the high-speed chaos didn't result in anyone passing away during the final standoff. November 21st, 2025 saw DaVona Dean attempting to navigate a red light in a way that would make any driving instructor faint. Trooper Loftess was forced to join the chase as Dean led them on a frantic journey. clearly in a hurry to be anywhere else. >> Crystal Valley 56 ASB. The local fire station traffic equipment narrowly escaped the encounter without a single scratch. She is now facing charges for her blatant disregard for traffic safety, ensuring her next trip will likely be in a transport van. On March 21st, 2022, a shopping trip at a local store turned into a terrifying kidnapping scenario that spilled onto the interstate. Bueno Diaz allegedly forced a woman into his car and decided that driving the wrong way on Interstate 25 was a sound exit strategy. The vehicle is continuing southbound and northbound lanes runway in the northbound lane. runway. >> Trying to hit spikes with a 242 >> 69 pass that 246 southbound. >> State police just pitted him. Clear that car. >> Clear that car. >> There's no clear. >> I can't walk. Oh my god, that hurt [groaning] so bad. >> You realize how many people you could have killed? >> Roll over. >> Stay there. [snorts] >> Diaz was eventually taken into custody and faces a laundry list of charges, including battery on a household member and aggravated assault. The legal system will now determine his fate while investigators check on the well-being of the woman involved in the ordeal. His decision to resist and evade has only added years to his potential stay in a state facility. January 12th, 2025 featured a black Jeep Cherokee attempting to break the sound barrier on the streets of Baldwin Park. The driver spent nearly 30 minutes zigzagging through traffic at speeds that reportedly topped 143 mph. >> Turned off. So now we have another crime here trying to evade um trying to hide yourself and turn the lights off and get off at Garfield. This looks like and collision with that driver and they were able to get off and lose the uh the lead officer in this pursuit with one headlight on. Might have knocked out one of the headlights. We'll see if one of the secondary officers was able to continue on. They have ditched the vehicle. It looks like it is rolling onto the shoulder now looking for someone on foot. >> Bailed out of the vehicle, dodging in between those trees. It's difficult to see because it's so dark out there right now, but it looked as though somebody dove out of that car and tried to duck into those trees in this neighborhood. >> Yeah, as we gain up on the camera here, we have the night sun from the overhead view. Um, but right in this area here, there were some trees. You could see a shadow moving among the lighted areas, but it is very dark in this area. We did not see where Yeah. And is this an officer who was pulled up or is this just a vehicle? >> Well, and there were at least two vehicles in close pursuit of this car. As soon as it exited, though, it didn't appear as though those cruisers followed it. Okay, we've got a police chopper overhead. Now, this all began about a half hour ago in the Baldwin Park neighborhood uh when police say this car was going excessive speeds as soon as they began pursuing this vehicle. Police say the car was blowing through red and yellow lights, not stopping for officers. At one point, exceeded miles of or exceeded speeds rather of 120 mph. We've been told that that was a black Jeep Cherokee, but it's difficult to see with the lighting out there. >> I see some movement up by the house. If we can go back up to that house, you saw some movement up on the uh on the far porch. There's someone there. You see a shadow moving there right on the corner of the house. Now, the other house uh down at the corner, we saw someone outside right on the corner at where that lighted area is. We see the night sun there. Right there. So, there was someone on that porch. You can see a shadow moving right there. I don't know if whether that's a resident checking something out or whether that has to do with the person who just bailed here. There was someone on this porch um likely just coming outside to see what's happening in your in your neighborhood. When you hear this commotion, we have the first responding vehicle right here. Two officers now pulling up. Uh we don't know what jurisdiction they are from, but finally getting here on the ground. It's a little difficult when resources are thin like this to try and lock down a perimeter to make sure this person can't escape. And you have all that time that has now spanned elapsed after this came to an end where this person could be blocks away by now. >> Yeah, we did see a law enforcement helicopter overhead. So perhaps the helicopter has eyes on this person. You can see officers getting out of the vehicle, flashlights on, running across the street, perhaps being guided by officers in that in that helicopter. Well, they're they're checking out the vehicle first >> in the area. But it's very dark. Yeah. >> In this area right now because the officer's flashlights are doing most of the work there. >> And you hope that the um airship overhead, the helicopter has a fleer system set up, that forward-looking infrared radar to be able to see some hot spots. Um if someone's hiding in a bush, if someone's up in a tree or hiding in in an alleyway. This is the video of the the foot bail. You can see uh they looked like they might have dropped something in the middle of the road and it's tough to follow them right behind that bush. You see them hop a fence. So, slow-mo this down for you. The vehicle continues to roll. The person looks like they fell down, dropped something, picked it up, and ran over into these trees and bushes, and it looks like um hopped a fence. So, on the left side of your screen, this is a live look. These officers on foot now training their attention on an alleyway or a driveway between two houses. I don't know. Uh we'll have to wait and see if they saw something, if they were told something. Maybe again the airship overhead might have that infrared radar to be able to see if there's a the the heat um sensor of a of a body that is outside of a home and hiding somewhere and that will make quick work of this. It's just a matter of whether they have that system in use. >> New Avenue. This started around 6:00 this evening. Just ended about what 15 minutes ago in this neighborhood in San Gabriel. And this driver pulling a dangerous pursuit to get away from pursuing officers. Turning off his headlights in the lefthand lane, veering across all lanes of traffic. And they have someone in custody on the ground right now. So they do have someone in custody. It looks like this is about to come to an end. A man in a tank top being checked for weapons on his person. And CHP officers, their their work pays off. They've been combing this area for the better part of 10 15 minutes on foot. This driver was able to get off the freeway without a tail, turning off that those headlights, driving across all lanes of traffic. It was too dangerous of a maneuver for CHP officers to pull off. So, he got off the exit, got out of his car once he had pulled off, letting his vehicle roll into a nearby fence, and has been hiding. But now, the hiding is done. >> Yeah, he >> The man in the tank top was eventually discovered hiding in a dark residential backyard, proving that you can't outrun a police helicopter forever. After a brief search by officers with flashlights, he was escorted to the station to answer for his dangerous high-speed stunts. The neighborhood returned to its quiet evening. Once the threat was safely behind bars and out of the trees, an Arkansas evening turned chaotic when Nicole Harper found herself in a disagreement with a state trooper over the best place to pull over. She was clocked doing 84 mph, but she decided that the highway shoulder simply wasn't accommodating enough for her tastes. Wow. Flash. Okay. Did they hit the inside wall? It rolled over. Get me AMS started. Got the number three lane shut down. Can you get out? Come on out. Come out this way. Right here. Come out this way. Can you come out here? >> Yeah. Hold on a minute. >> Can you get out your passenger door here? I'm going to I'm going to move this. Watch your head. Why didn't you stop? >> Because I didn't feel like it was safe. Well, this is where you ended up. >> Watch your head. Can you come out this way? I got plenty of room right here. >> Are you the only one in the vehicle? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> I'm pregnant. >> Well, ma'am, you've got to pull over when we come. >> I had my flashlight. >> It doesn't matter. Ma'am, >> I feel like it was safe. >> I've got an ambulance coming for you. >> You need help? Thanks, Sheila. >> I just left the movies and cabin. I went with my dad's girlfriend and my nieces and I was on my way home. >> Okay. Well, I told you you were running 84 and then when I >> I know that I know that I was speeding. I agree with you. I was >> you had to pull over, ma'am. But >> I didn't I didn't even think it was safe for you for me to pull over there. >> That's what we do out here. Okay. Their shoulders on the right and their shoulders on the left. I just didn't feel like the shoulder was big enough. >> This is what happens when people don't stop for us. We >> wreck us. >> We hit the vehicle. Do we anticipate them rolling over? Absolutely not. But we we stop the vehicles. I have no idea what's going on inside your vehicle or why you wouldn't stop >> because I didn't think it was safe for you. I didn't stop. >> I have no idea about that. Been doing this for 27 years, ma'am. And when people don't stop, we have no idea what's going on inside the vehicle. Okay. >> The legal battle highlights a growing debate over police tactics and driver expectations during traffic stops. While the court decides the outcome, the footage remains a stark reminder of how quickly a routine speeding ticket can escalate. Nicole Harper is currently seeking damages for negligence following the incident that left her vehicle on its roof. And you know what? The cases we covered today are just the tip of the iceberg in a world where common sense is becoming an increasingly rare commodity. You need to check out the next video to see how the next set of fugitives handled their inevitable introduction to the pavement.
