On July 20th, 2026, officers were dispatched in response to a domestic incident. >> Hi, I'm Officer Flores. I also, if you feel more comfortable, you can call me Maddie. >> Hi. What's your name? What's your name? He doesn't say much. >> He doesn't speak much. >> Right now, I've just laid on the talking. >> Oh. Otherwise, he's been good though, I hope. >> So, what's going on tonight? >> Tonight, she you know, Friday night we got in an argument cuz I was trying to come inside and and um she got in the way of me trying to come inside and then started pushing me and scratching my neck and stuff and then, you know, to defend myself, I held her down to the ground. >> Mhm. And then when I let it go, I tried to walk away cuz that's all I did is hold her on the ground. >> Mhm. >> And then she came to the room following me, still yelling in my face, and then took a punch at me. Okay. >> And hit me in the eye on Friday night. I didn't call her or do anything about it. But tonight, you know, he's saying that she slapped him on the cheek. >> On the cheek? >> Mhm. >> Okay. Are you guys >> She's claiming it was the iPad that fell on his face, but when I ask him if it was the iPad, he says no. He says he points towards the room where she's at. >> Mhm. that I to me that he's trying to say it's mommy that did it. >> Okay. >> Are you guys currently together or are you separated? >> We were together but honestly I'm I'm done with this. >> Okay. Are you residing at a different address currently or? >> No, we're live together in number 16 over there. >> Okay. How long have you guys been together for? >> About four years. >> Okay. Has this become a more common occurrence with the arguing and the fighting? Is there something that she's doing like alcohol? >> She just can't hold a temper. That's all. >> Okay. So, you've been married for four years or together overall for four years. >> Exactly. We're married April the year the year he was born 2022. So, yeah. April 2022. Four years. Okay. And there was nothing like that before with her temper or anything like that? It wasn't until after the marriage. >> Yeah. No, it's definitely after the marriage. Okay. >> Honestly, after he was born and stuff like that and the stress of, you know, raising him and bills and blah blah blah and >> does he normally have all the red dots. I understand like we have mosquitoes and gnats and everything. >> Yes. Eczema and then he's allergic to mosquitoes like her insect bites. I get severe allergic reactions from it and it creates little welts and everything that takes forever to heal. >> Okay. >> She has the same thing. >> I'm the exact same way. I once had when I was little, I had a mosquito bite on my knee and it like swelled up three times his eyes. >> Yeah. Scabs and everything. >> Mhm. >> Super annoying. >> I understand that. Do you guys have any family members in town? >> I didn't. She doesn't. >> Okay. All our family's in Argentina. >> In Argentina. Okay. Are you Key West local or were born and raised? >> No. >> Born three years old. >> And you went to the high school and everything. What year? >> Then Archer and everything. Yeah. >> Oh, wow. Okay. Before they switched over to the new high school. >> Yeah. I Yeah, I went to the That was before Yeah. It was the old high school. >> Okay. >> 11th grade, 10th grade. So, I started constructing I think uh 11th grade. When I finished 11th grade, then I started senior year and half of it was new and half it was old. >> I understand that I'm asking a lot of questions and I know you probably don't want to talk, but is there anything I can do to at least try and help right now? >> I just hate what's going to come over this stupid [ __ ] but Hopefully it turns out a bit better. We'll see. >> Does he normally have the red underneath his eyes? >> It's part of the accident. >> Okay. >> He got out there. >> Okay. Legs in the bottom of the arms. >> Okay. All right. Have you called the police before? No. Have they ever been out here for any other reason? >> Okay. Is the um is the residence in her name or your name? own sign leases here, but I was the one that originally got this place. >> You're the one that originally got it. Okay. If something was to happen and you don't feel comfortable staying here for the night, do you have somewhere else that you can stay? Okay. If you're comfortable with that, is it okay if we get that address in case we are unable to make contact with you over here? >> Um, I'll be right here next door anyway. Number nine. My mom lives there. That or >> I don't know my sister's address. It's a Bard Groves. Does your family also know what's been going on or No, >> I mean I've probably known a little bit about arguments and arguments and stuff, but >> Mhm. >> What about everything being physical like her punching you on Friday or her hitting on Friday? >> I found out today when went to go visit >> Okay. >> Did they say anything? Anything of note or they were just concerned essentially? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Is he just shy? >> I was too when I was a kid. Oh, this is my uh my sergeant in case he comes in comes over to talk. >> Katie, >> they're in uh unit 16. >> 16. >> 16. Yep. So, our sergeant speaks Spanish and I just want to make sure what she's saying is correct. >> I went to my car and like hand sanitizer for the kiddo cuz he was like the bugs and they've been bite. >> Oh, do you have >> No, but hand sanitizer works pretty much the same way. That's what I use at this point. You're you're okay with that? Okay, I'll be right about >> Do you guys speak both Spanish and English in front of them? >> I mean, we speak most of Spanish in the house, but obviously school. >> Yeah, >> I uh I don't have kids, but I've heard that it can kind of >> not slow them down. But he needs to learn Spanish. He needs to know his >> It's an important skill. >> Has either of you ever been arrested? >> Well, regardless of what happens tonight, you guys probably need to not be together. He's getting old enough. He's realizing what happened. What's happened? and he's the most important. Like I said earlier, adults, you want to go duke it out, have have at it. But once we have little ones involved, that's that's that can't happen. That's not safe for him. >> I was going to look in my box of many things to see if there's something he would enjoy, but you don't mind milk. >> Really? >> Yeah. Right out here. >> This is us. Just go to the other side of this car. Okay. Just stand right here for me while I open it up. Yeah, sure. >> Okay, go ahead and have a seat down carefully. It's a hard seat. it. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Yes, sir. >> Talking about here police. Um, what's what's going on with the uh with this whole situation? Talk to me a little bit about this. I know you called for the kid for your son with something that uh you got hit in the face. >> Yeah, Friday night she struck me in the face. I was trying to come in the house after I was um drinking here with my coworker and my uncle and she was upset because I was over here drinking. Um and then she assumed that I was cheating on her, but she asked to see my phone and all this and whatnot. But I was just here the whole night and I tried to go inside and that's when she started scratching me. uh put her hands on me, try to swing me on me and I just try to hold her and as I'm holding her, I I rub her around. I tell her to stop. Uh and I let go and I come over to the bedroom, the master bedroom to the right. And she follows me there and keeps on screaming and at my face and everything and try and avoid her the whole time. And then she goes and takes a hit, swing him, hits me in the eye. Um I didn't swing back or anything there. I walked away still and I went to the bathroom and that's the only time she finally left me alone when I went in the bathroom and took a shower then and went to bed and the next morning my eye was this was like this. >> So what did that fight that started there? What did it start about? Like it's just started about because she hates that I go come over here and she always gets angry cuz I come over here a couple times a week or whatever once or twice a week to go hang out with my uncle or my friend my coworker once and she get upset about that but her upsetness is not an argument. It's always um always turns into physical for >> how she get all the bruises we have on. >> She does kickboxing. She could have some I don't know how she got any other bruises. She should show me something some in her thigh. I don't see how she possibly got >> boxing. Yeah, she does kickboxing over from end number 14 and her training. >> Maybe she got some of those from that. But literally I did not hit her. I did not strike her. I put her to the ground. That's it. Held her down on the ground. Try to tell her, "You're not stronger than me. Stop, you know, stop doing this. Always getting physical with me. Never wants to talk about being angry." She always wants to swing at me. She's done in the past and just I've never actually, you know, made a follow at her dad. But every time there's an argument, she's always, you know, first thing to her is just, you know, get and it's not the first time that she's, you know, pushed him or something down. And it was even smaller. She she's cooking and he likes to come and help out, sit on the counter with her to help her cook and um you know she gets upset because she's having to cook or whatever and he's trying to guess she probably feels irritated by him and one day she literally just pushed him and he fell to the ground which possibly how he chipped his front teeth to right here. >> That was you know a year ago. >> What's up? What's your name? But just two weeks ago, she's watching the, you know, the football game >> and I'm in the other room. I didn't see what happened, but I'm in the other room and all of a sudden I hear a dunk. And when I come over, you know, he's crying in tears and I end up having to take him take him from her. And the next day, he had a black eye right here on the side right here cuz it looked like it probably hit that chair that you saw inside the this little thing cuz she sits on the couch and she probably, you know, jumped them in. That thumb was his eye hitting that chair. >> How long's this been going on? >> Arguments arguments between her and I for for a long time now. More, you know, more than a year or so. >> How long you all been sleeping on the second bedroom? >> Maybe two weeks or so now. Somewhere around there. Two, three weeks probably. >> What started that? her issues with me, you know, drinking here or, you know, always arguing. We always arguing about, you know, cooking and the things in the house. She feels like, you know, I do all the laundry every week. I'm the one that bathes them every other day, you know, >> right? >> She doesn't do any of that. I have to do basically all the cooking and she she's So, it's small things like that that leads to an argument and then She doesn't feel like he's doing anything around the house checking us. I don't know. >> But if it just causes an argument all the time and that's probably, you know, part of the fight that she's been >> Did she call the police sometime a few weeks back when we were on the side there with friends? >> That was that was months ago. But no, she never did. She called Did the cops ever show up? No. >> No cop ever came to talk to me that day or anything? No. >> All right. And if it's I had one Oh, well I had a get together. I did a barbecue probably. That's that's >> a cop. I'm going to look up. >> No cop. >> No cop. >> Which part? >> Right around the corner. >> Go look and see if you've ever had the number 16. That was 16, right? Look and see if we ever had any. The woman was charged with domestic violence and a protection order was issued prohibiting her from contacting her husband and son. No further information is available at this time as the case has been marked confidential. However, law enforcement contacted DCF regarding the alleged attacks on the child, opening a separate investigation into possible additional charges.
