And then I was like, "What's going on?" And um They took like a cart and a bag inside a cart, which is like >> right now >> blue bag. >> So they had it in in a cart? >> That's how that's why I thought because I thought it was weird you have a cart and one of our blue shopper bags, you know, in the >> cart was in the bag with the items in the bag? >> Yeah, she put them in the bag and then she just walked out with them. >> Okay. And then the third female left before? >> Yes. >> Yes. I let her in the bathroom like maybe like 5 to 10 minutes before and then she left. >> Turn it off. Turn the car off. Turn it off. I have a feeling she's not in labor, huh? >> I don't even know what you >> Taking off running? That's crazy. Any weapons on you? >> What's she >> Man, that's what happens when you run. >> She's pregnant. >> Hold up, well she shouldn't be running. >> Yeah, no pregnant woman in labor can almost go full track and field sprint like that. And if she truly is in labor, that belly flop will surely pop the baby right out. Just kidding. >> Comply. LET ME GET UP. >> YOU'RE NOT BEING COMPLIANT. YOU'RE RESISTING. >> Don't mind grabbing me, please. Please. Please. Please, you guys. Okay, I just Stop. I'm getting up. Listen, you guys. I'm saying. Just get me off my stomach, please. I wasn't even in I don't know what you guys are talking about. >> I'm going to tell you exactly what to do so we don't have to get physical. >> Yeah, no, it's not cuz I don't even know what's going on. So, please explain to me. >> This is what I'm going to have you do, right? You're going to leave your hands like this. I'm going to open the door, just hold them like that. >> Okay. Oh, okay. I'm I'm just trying to comply. Okay. Go ahead. I'm not going to do it. Just go ahead. >> Listen to me, okay? >> Okay, cuz >> When you get out, I'm going to grab this arm. I'm going to push you towards the front of the car and put your other hand behind your back so I can put the cuffs on, okay? >> Okay. All right. >> So, leave your hands where they are right now. There you go. Step up for me, like I asked you, and face the front of the car. Don't grab nothing. Leave your hands up. There you go. >> Oh, wait. My phone's going to die. >> You're okay. You're okay. You're okay. There you go. Perfect. >> Please. I don't know what's >> we're talking right now? Can we stay this way? All right. Um we'll just need once they're done dealing with that. >> Since they're Old Navy. >> No, look what happened to me. My stomach. >> Is she the one that ran? >> Yeah, she came out of the backseat. She just sat down. She's like, "I'm in labor." And then all of a sudden she just bolted into the road. And so Rankin and I think Dale chased her Rankin and somebody else chased her down and driver was complying for the most part after they after they tried >> Don't hurt me. Don't hurt me. >> This is your shoplifting vehicle, right? Okay. >> Over a thousand bucks from Old Navy. >> The runner continued to scream her lungs out about being pregnant. >> You're an adult. You can get in the car. >> I am, BUT I DIDN'T WANT TO >> PREGNANT. BE RESPONSIBLE. GET IN THE >> TOLD YOU MY FEELING. IT'S JUST HOW I'M FEELING RIGHT NOW. PLEASE. JUST GIVE ME A MOMENT. PLEASE, JUST GIVE ME A MOMENT. I'LL BE IN COMPLIANCE. I'M ALREADY OKAY. >> [laughter] >> OKAY. >> YOU'RE NOT >> LISTEN. YES, I am, SIR. I SAID I'M PREGNANT. CAN YOU GUYS JUST STAND RIGHT HERE AND GIVE ME A SECOND? MY STOMACH. THAT'S IT. JUST GIVE me a second. >> Stop talking. >> JUST GIVE ME A SECOND. >> KEEP TALKING. >> Just give me a NO, JUST GIVE >> I NEED YOU TO STOP TOUCHING ME AND GRABBING ME. >> I JUST because my right SIDE AND I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU'RE SAYING AS A WOMAN. >> I'M SORRY, BUT HOLD ON, LET ME TRY >> I RAN, OKAY, I WAS JUST ABOUT TO RUN, SO THEY have to do what they have to do. >> Let me take Let take a breath. Let me talk with you for a second, okay? >> Please leave me alone. Please, I just want to talk to you. >> you to take a breath because I can't talk to you like this. >> Just listen real quick, I I, okay, I know you're doing your job. I ran, I know what happens when you run BECAUSE I'M PREGNANT. OKAY, THAT'S UNDERSTANDABLE. I JUST NEED A SECOND cuz I'm pregnant ON MY RIGHT SIDE AND TURN ME. I JUST NEED A SECOND. YOU CAN STAND RIGHT HERE. FIVE OF YOU GUYS CAN STAND RIGHT HERE. JUST GIVE ME A SECOND BECAUSE I KNOW THAT I RAN AND I KNOW I'm wrong. >> It's okay. I will help you. It's really uncomfortable. Your right side, you're not helping it and not getting into the car. So, let's get up into the car and that's going to help you, okay? It's going to relieve a lot of the pressure on your right side. So, I will help you stand up and we're going to sit in the car, okay? All right, let's do it. >> I don't want Can he not touch me cuz he keeps pulling my AND I ALREADY I KNOW, BUT I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU'RE SAYING. I I KNOW THAT YOU HAVE TO DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO. I JUST DON'T WANT you to be rough with me. I understand you have to do your job. >> Don't turn around to him. Let's stand up. And now sit back on the seat, okay? I will help you pull your pants up. >> It's just because I'm leaking, that's why. >> Okay. We have medical coming, but they're not going to be able to to see you when you're >> Finally, she was able to calm down and follow the sergeant's instructions. >> Why do you think we're all here like this? >> Well, honestly, I really don't have no clue cuz I just was coming from Target. I went in the Old Navy and I used the bathroom. I went to uh Sunglass right next door. I had to get my prescription and then I walked over from Target. >> Okay. >> And then I walked over from Target and then my friend called me. She was like, "Hey, like, we're we're leaving Old Navy, but where are you?" I was like, "I just left out of Target." But, once I got in the car, it was fine. It's not like nobody was dramatic or nothing. I just now got picked up. I went in literally when you guys got picked up. And then we just got pulled over and I'm just like, "Why are we getting pulled over?" I'm like, "Well, that's fine. I got my L's, so you have Everybody has a driver's license." I'm like, "So?" And I'm just like, "Wait." Then I see police coming in the front. And I'm just like, "Okay, now what the [ __ ] is going on?" But nobody's saying anything. I was not It's not me. >> You'll know the one when you see her. >> Yeah, so and then that's pretty much it. It's no clue. I don't I couldn't even give you guys a clue about anything. >> are any of the items in the car yours? >> Yep, my purse is right there. >> Anything else in the car yours? >> I have my food in the trunk that I just got from Safeway like about an hour and a half ago. Yeah, so I I just went grocery shopping, so. >> Okay, so we opened the trunk and there's a bunch of Old Navy stuff right there. >> Oh, no. No. No. Right. Yeah. No. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, that's it. Yep, right there. Yep, right there in the >> Is there anything in there that isn't yours? >> Nope. >> Okay. >> I mean, that is >> me to show you and have you take a look while we stand here and then you can tell me what's yours and what's not? >> Yep, absolutely. >> to switch you back over. >> Yeah, cuz I'm I can't stand up like this. >> Now you're good. One, two, three. There you go. All right, so we'll stand right here and we'll look right there. Your coat? >> Yep. >> Your purse? >> Nope. Just my purse right there and the phone on the floor. And then my uh package I just picked up from my mail right there. Right there on the side door. You see it on the side door? It's pink. Yep. That's all you >> none of this is back here is yours? >> Nope. >> That Safeway bag would not be you or anything like that? >> Nope. >> Okay. That's not your food right there? >> Nope, my food's in the trunk. >> Cool. All right. That's what we're going to do. >> Mhm. >> That's so you're not sitting on the ground and spectacle for everybody else. You're Do you want to sit in my car while I talk to these other >> I don't care. I don't mind. >> Okay. That way I can walk away from you and have some privacy, yeah? >> Yeah, go ahead. >> That's the driver. And when the officers ran her information, they found out a not-so-shocking truth about her. >> Sure you guys >> I see it though. She's got priors for assault and trespassing. She's a driver and she's RO suspended. RO suspended. Lines were evidence tape used to be on the gas cap and [ __ ] It was about to steal before. >> No, but you should be happy cuz I was >> Do you know you're wanted out of California, miss? >> No, it's not wanted. I was living in Las Vegas. It's currently a case that's closed. >> Well, I mean I heard the charge. How'd you catch that though? >> Okay, so when I lived in Las Vegas, this this guy in Las Vegas that has been arrested for other charges um I wasn't the only one. He was He had a car lot in Las Vegas. I drove it to you know, me buying a new car, boom, going on my first trip. I was with my son, my family, everybody in the car. >> Mhm. >> When I got pulled over, he was just like, "Hey, do you know a guy named Paul or whatever?" And I'm just like, "Um no." They were like, "Well, we've been trying to find this car because this car's been flooding from California going to a car lot in Las Vegas. I'm like, "Well, that's crazy you said that cuz I got my plates, my paperwork, all that in the in the glove compartment. So he seen all my paperwork or whatever. And then when I was getting bailed out, that's what the the charge was for uh what was it? Like a GTA or something like that. But when I was going to court, they finally found the guy that was selling the car that he was getting from California. So but this happened around COVID. So it's not really like a wanted wanted case. I'm still in complying with my attorney in California trying to figure out how can we do a Zoom call to officially close the case. >> Well, they're saying that you're wanted still, but it's only out of California. >> Yeah. >> Your friend's a little baddie. >> And again, I'm sorry. >> Your other friend's a little baddie. She's got some real charges. Um I'm going to the driver. wherever the driver girl was. All right. You are getting charged with theft three. Huh? Yeah, maybe theft two. I haven't looked at how much the dollar amount was. They said they believed it was over a thousand bucks, but I got to verify that. So, theft theft three, maybe theft two. Um, and then obstructing. I'm going to watch my video and stuff, but to me, from my perspective, when I had you penned in here, I saw the reverse lights kick on, and then it felt like to me my car whole move out as you were trying to rev out of it, like get out of the pin. And so, that's why all the guns came out and stuff. So, because of that, that's obstruction as well, cuz you're trying to escape when we have you penned in with red and blue lights on, okay? Did you not I'm You literally went reverse and like revved your car and pushed my car back. You didn't do that. You realize that You see that red light up there, the camera? Okay. From my perspective in the moment, it's loud out here, it seemed to me like that happened. I'll watch the video and verify, but I'm I'm 99% confident that's what happened, okay? >> In the end, the runner was charged with third-degree theft, obstruction, and disorderly conduct. The second female was charged with third-degree theft. The third one was released on the scene because she didn't take anything and cooperated with the police. Moving on to the next case where police surprise a woman after a Walmart shoplifting spree. >> paying for higher priced items at a lower price. There was like different tickets on them, like different price tags. >> I'm not to everything I did. >> You are barred from all Walmarts. >> You're going to get charged for retail theft and for criminal trespassing. >> On February 2nd, 2026, officers responded to a residence after a delayed report of a shoplifting incident at Walmart. Here's what happened next. >> Rachel? >> Yes. I got you. >> Good. Officer Pieper. >> Sorry, I was playing dumb. Neither. >> Oh, no, you're okay. I'm Officer Pieper, just so you know, our body cams are on, okay? >> Okay. >> So, uh I'm here actually, real quick. I just got to read you something, okay? I just have to let you know what your rights are, okay? Before I start asking you questions. >> Okay. >> You have the right to remain if you wish. Do you understand? >> I mean, yeah. >> Okay. So, um I'm here to talk to you about some incidents that you had at Walmart a few weeks ago. >> What? >> So, they have you on camera paying for higher priced items at a lower price. There was like different tickets on them, like different price tags. >> What? >> So, there is There's stuff like cameras, um camera film, stuff like that. So, there was at least three separate times that this occurred. >> Honestly, I don't know what you're talking about. >> You have no idea? >> No. >> Okay. >> Different tickets, what are you talking about? >> So, the price tags is on like There's also kids clothes. There's all sorts of different items. >> I'm so confused. >> There is usually like four to five items per transaction. It is always on non-grocery stuff. Grocery stuff, you pay full price. >> I mean, I feel like I paid full price for everything. I spent a ton of money at Walmart. >> Okay. Well, the video and the receipt shows otherwise. Just trying to save a buck? I mean, I get it. Times are hard right now. >> No, honestly, I don't even know what you're talking about. >> Well, like one of the things specifically, there's like a $75 camera that had a And it's one of those like little kids cameras, uh that had Is it motion? That had uh a sticker for like a 70 cent Starburst. >> Stop giving the officer your confused look. That Pikachu face only makes you look more suspicious. >> This can't be real. Like what is going on? >> I get people make mistakes. I just got to I got to know why. >> really honestly do not know what you're talking about. I pay full price for all my items. Like I >> Okay. >> My friend gave my daughter a camera for her birthday, but I didn't buy it. >> Okay. So, it's you. >> Okay, but I I honestly don't know what you're talking about. >> Okay. I mean, is that is that the story that we're going to go with? I'll tell you Do you want me to tell you the specific days? >> I mean, I It doesn't matter. >> January 9th, January 13th, January 15th. Those are the only incidents that they have found so far. >> I mean, I honestly I am >> Like I said, there's >> stealing. It is >> Like I said, there's there's two sides to every story. So, I wanted to come over here and give you the benefit of the doubt. >> Right. Thank you. >> And try to get your side, okay? So, that's where a little bit of honesty comes in, right? >> Right. I mean, I always have my kids with me. They're always like crazy. >> Yeah, I saw that. >> like I don't try I mean, that is just I don't know. I I don't have >> So, I'll put it this way. If it were just if it happened one time and you know, there was one item, maybe two. I'll even give you two items that were switched, you know, that was significantly less. That I could understand as a mistake. When it happened three times in a matter of a week, that's >> I mean, why would I say something like say something to you? Like and like correct it. Like I would definitely >> Well, they probably didn't see it at the time. >> like I don't like I just scan and I pay for it. You know what I mean? >> Sure. >> Like I don't like like inspect every item unless I'm looking for a stuff in my cart. >> Sure. >> sure I ring it in. >> Mhm. >> Um but other than that, like, I honestly I'm not perfect. I've done stupid stuff before, but I don't want to put my kids through that and I honestly don't feel like I've done anything of what you're talking about. >> The officer continued to question her about her shoplifting spree, and guess what? She has a history of shoplifting. And you know that you were previously banned from Walmart as well, right? >> The East Peoria one? >> You're banned from all. >> All Walmarts? >> Mhm. >> They just told me East Peoria because I was trying to pay for my items. I left them with my cart >> Mhm. >> and me and my kids went out to charge my phone cuz I was trying to scan and go. >> Right. >> And then just my phone died. So then I left them with my cart. They said I went past the threshold, which not like past the doors. >> Mhm. >> But I was looking for help and hey, buddy. It's okay. >> Mom's okay. >> I was just looking for >> We're just talking to her. >> I was just looking for help and then um they they obviously weren't like crazy about that and then the cops came and they're like, we don't even feel comfortable with giving her a trespass because they looked at the cameras and I honestly didn't try to keep anything. I was just trying to pay for it and charge my phone. So, that was the deal with that. >> Sure. >> Like I never >> Well, they must have felt comfortable enough cuz you were arrested for that one, right? In East Peoria? >> No. >> Yeah? >> No, I I was No, I wasn't arrested for that. >> That was Washington for one, but it was Washington. >> Okay. Well, either way. >> But there is also someone who used my name um and got a theft charge and my [music] um stepdad's the ex-warden of the correctional facility in Spring River. >> Mhm. >> Um and he even had sent me the emails and whatever and it's some other girl's picture with my name on it in East Peoria. >> Okay. Well, the at least the in Washington, that was you. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> And like I said, I'm not perfect. >> You were right. And people make mistakes, and I get that. That's not what I'm trying to What I'm trying to say is you were you were you were >> up to everything I did. >> barred from all Walmarts. >> They made it seem that it was just that Walmart. >> No, it's all. And did you read the agreement with >> Yep. >> That confirmed it. She is a repeat shoplifter. I mean, you don't get trespassed from all Walmarts for nothing. >> I I was like, "Okay, so is it just this one?" And whatever. Yeah, it was just the East Fury one, I thought. >> Yeah, no, it's all It's >> So, I shouldn't go to Walmart at all? >> Anywhere in the whole US. >> See, honestly, that was a misunderstanding cuz I had no idea. >> Yeah, so I wouldn't go there. >> It's okay. >> Uh >> But, um I honestly I like I said, I've made mistakes in the past. >> Mhm. >> I, you know, stupid idea. >> Sure. >> Um just times are hard, but you know, I >> Do you at least >> to that. I honestly I >> Do you at least remember being at a Walmart on the >> I mean, I go to a Walmart. I get groceries. I get stuff like that. Yeah. >> So, like sometimes 8:00 at night, >> I It's whenever I can. >> Yeah. >> Um it's not like a strategic um plan. It's just honestly when I can get out. >> Sure. >> Um so, it's just when I can. >> Okay. >> So. >> All right. Well, so you don't have anything else to say about it? >> I mean, honestly, I I really I don't. I just I honestly don't know where this is all coming from, and I don't I feel like I have paid full price for all of my items. Like, I honestly don't >> Sure. >> get how this is even about. Like, I don't try to like swap out anything or whatever you're saying. Like, I don't know. That seems very tedious and very something that someone with two screaming kids probably would do, but >> Sure. >> Um I wish someone would have corrected it then, and I wouldn't be in this position. >> Sure. >> Like I I'm really not about that and I just I don't know. Like I said, I've made mistakes in the past, but >> Sure. >> I feel like I've kind of grown from that and learned. >> Right. >> You know, I don't really have a bad record. I do have that on my record, but I just like I said, I made a stupid decision and >> Yeah. >> definitely don't try to make it again. >> Okay. >> Um I have to set an example for the kids, too, but >> Right. >> You know, I I mean, I wish I had more to tell you and I wish you know, that this could get you know, whatever, but I just I honestly I I can't sit here and say that I've done that. >> And that's the end of the questioning. The officers then give her the charges and court date. Okay. All right. Well, so you're going to get notices to appear for them, okay? So, you have You're going to get charged for retail theft and for criminal trespass, okay? They both have the same court date. So, you don't have to make multiple court All right. Multiple trips. So, like I said, retail theft and criminal trespass. Just don't go to Walmart again, okay? Um and it's any of the Walmarts. You can always call and ask permission to come back. Uh I get it there's not a ton of places to shop around here, but >> I just put it on there. >> What is that? >> I don't have to go to Walmart, but >> Sure. Well, what do you mean? >> I just I really honestly, I wish everyone would have just stopped it right then. Like I have no idea. >> I well, I don't think they were even aware of it at the time. This is a thing. They don't get an alert or anything like that if somebody's checking out in the self-checkout and something isn't right. Something that's >> Just like >> Oh. I feel like I thought it was like all weight and stuff like that. That's why you put it on there or whatever. >> No, a lot of times Yeah, a lot of times, especially if it looks like it's It's item because it's a legitimate barcode. But when they review, they get alerted to it through whatever ways. They have different reporting, but when they see there is, you know, >> I don't I don't know how it happened. >> to be a Starburst, but it's a $70 camera. What do you mean you don't know how it happened? So, those are your copies. >> I mean, like I just don't understand how is this happening? Like I don't understand. >> Don't understand what? How did you get caught? >> Yeah. >> I also hate it when the tag switches itself. Well, like I said, if it were one time, I'd say that that's probably a mistake. If it's several times and several items, totally like $100, that's not a that's not a mistake. >> This is crazy. >> Mom's okay. >> We're just talking. >> She's okay. Well, if you have anything else to add or you have, you know, any questions, feel free to give me a call, okay? >> I mean, there's nothing I can really add or do. I feel like I'm getting punished for something I didn't even do. I am not like a freaking criminal, whatever, but I just >> No one's calling you criminal. We're just dealing with what we got to deal with. >> Right, and I understand it's your job, but I just it sucks. I I already had a charge, but I don't feel like I've done anything wrong, you know? I have to face this, but I just don't understand how >> Ticket switching, that's I mean, that's what it's called. Ticket switching, pay less for >> I mean, I've never even heard of that. I didn't even know you could do that. >> It's not uncommon. >> Cuz I figured everything was weighed, that's why they make you put it on that. Like well, who would I wouldn't even have the time to think about that. >> Well, >> but I won't go to Walmart again, but I honestly didn't know that it was every Walmart, either. >> Yeah, like I said, it it wasn't a mistake, okay? >> I mean, to me it is. I I really honestly don't do that. I have never even heard of it before. >> Stuff like that doesn't happen three different times in a matter of a week with almost $400 worth of items. So, it wasn't just it didn't just happen to you. This is something that you did. >> I I don't do that. Like, this is crazy. I don't understand how it could even happen more than once. >> I don't know. >> It's the same person. Like, this is >> Well, like I said, it wasn't a mistake. Okay? It's not like it happened to you. >> Well, I didn't do it though. >> All right. Well, like I said, if you have anything else to add, you can give me a call. Okay? Cuz at this point we're just going in circles. I I do appreciate you uh giving me a call back because, you know, I didn't want to just show up here out of the blue and >> know that straight. >> I know I knew that you had kids here, so I want to be respectful of that, okay? >> I appreciate you for that. >> Yep. >> The woman was charged with felony retail theft and criminal trespassing. Let's move on to the next case where a shoplifter couple got arrested after stealing 17 times at the same Walmart. >> Well, that's why >> They've been involved in 16 from us so far that's loaded up. This one's $201. Um their total value is 13. Scanning one, bagging two, three. We have received >> I'm not. Like, I'm I was trying to tell you I saw it and you're like, you kept getting mad at me. >> So, you don't want to answer any more questions? >> On March 18th, 2025, officers in Ohio responded to a Walmart after loss prevention reported a skip scan group involved in multiple active theft cases across multiple states. Here's what happened next when the police arrived. >> Statewide. >> Simmons was the last name. We've got multiple out of Waverly. They bagged, they skip scanned stuff at the registers. We got put on to them and ran their card. My boss probably has 20 cases, 15 cases that he's put in. They're over $1,000 from past thefts. And we got a dozen or more items not scanned. I just got to get the receipt, but they're both in there, but >> Is he is he hours. Are you from this jurisdiction? >> Yeah, um we we have I've got Aurora pulled up. I can show you where they're in the system, what they're what they've been doing. But, uh we've just been waiting. I had them in the other day, but the handheld was messing up, and it was like two items. And I was like, "Well, we'll wait and get us all in." And this is actually This is all of it. >> I do about every every time you've been in here. This was $188. This was $56, which is the lower one, $142. I mean, there's 20 20 or more cases that you guys were involved in. I know what you're trying to tell me you didn't do anything wrong, but I mean, why do you think I'm watching you? >> This is two cases out of Waverly. >> This is what That's why I mean >> They've been involved in 18 events. 16 from us so far that's loaded up. This one's $201. That's him pushing it out. And it's her blue pickup truck. Um their total value is 1350 >> You see what I'm saying at the moment? >> And it's it's all either not scanning the stuff at the register or um scanning one, bagging two, three. We have receipts. >> Oh, we got to tell them we got >> Oh, yeah. >> 18 times they had been involved in shoplifting. 18 freaking times. And 16 of them were from Walmarts. And they still dare to go back again. Such confidence. Really wish that they had used that confidence to get some honest jobs instead. >> We got put on to it by self-checkout host. >> I've only >> And she said, "Hey, I don't think they paid for all their stuff," which is common how this happens. So, then we pulled the last four of the credit card, ran their name, and pulled up all their Walmart transactions. That's why we got one hit out of Columbus and a couple out of Waverly, I believe. On Facebook, it says he's from Waverly, but that's how we got their name. Uh I believe it's Heather Simmons. >> Well, that is old address in Waverly on his ID. >> Okay. And then, so we just started watching the transactions, and sure enough, every time they're in. They miss scan. She'll stand and stare at the self-checkout host. He'll do most of the bagging. >> Do Do what you got here. >> Yeah. >> And then, you know, we can we can reference the other cases of of elsewhere. And then, uh the court could take that into account. >> Yeah, no. >> But >> All that stuff is completely up to you. We just want to make sure >> Y'all make sure to put all that news together for the court hearing or whatever before you >> What is it? >> I'll make sure to get all the news put together. >> Okay. >> I'll meet y'all down there. >> How many times for this store? >> Well, 3 months. >> How many cases? >> Well, Scott, right now on this one, got one. Two, three, four, five, six, seven, and we did the same thing Try to >> 18, 19 count on this one. >> And some of them are $27, some of them are $218. >> Probably 2 days ago. >> This one was $288 or $188, $207. You know, >> Some of them were like that. >> Well, they got a sweeper the other day and it was $400 or almost Well, $300, right? >> It was. >> You can put it in the one report now these days, but But at the end of the day, on the court side, each one is a Yes, now I know in the past they've grouped them together before, so they may do that. >> Well, the last time when I talked to you, uh Fife, he he was like, "Well, if you get them all put together, if we got another one similar to this, get them all put together, and then, uh we'll get with the prosecutor >> It's kind of there. >> find out if they want to do all of them together or >> Right. >> or they want like 20 charges. >> I might give him a call and see what he wants to do with it. >> I I think it's going to be all of them together are going to be over $1,000. >> Is it both of them every time? >> Yeah. >> For every single case? >> Well, not every single case. Sometimes it's just her, sometimes it's just him. >> So, that's what we're going to have to determine also is, you know, the accumulative yes, together. but >> Yeah, we got to separate those with five guys. >> When they're together, you count them as as both of them, but when they're separate, that total can't go for both of them. It's got to go for the single person. >> Yeah. >> So, we got to figure that total out. >> Yeah, well, the majority of the bigger the the bigger time or the more expensive ones were what both of them together. >> Right. >> She had a couple times with small stuff like hot food, stuff like that, and he got a couple times with, you know, smaller stuff, but >> Let's Let's work on today right now, and then we'll figure out that after this. >> After speaking with the loss prevention, it's time for the officers to deal with the shoplifters. >> Talk to him. I'll talk to her. >> Because we don't we don't have the authority to >> Just sit right here and talk to me. >> Can we get away from all the people? >> No, step out. >> Let's go up front. >> I'm not going to do that for you. Sit right here on this bench. So, apparently this is a thing that happens frequently. >> I'm not trying to be funny if I say every little thing that comes out of my mouth is a >> Oh, there's cameras all over. >> I understand that, but I understand also things can be mishandled accidentally. I'm not saying it's always, but you can't say instead every time we come in here we steal something. That's not >> So, not that question. I'm not worried about that right this second. What happened today? >> No, we were I always sit there and talk to people because I know everybody in here. >> So >> there and talk to everybody. >> What wasn't scanned? >> I guess a few things. It was probably some lotion, something, um, some chickens, some cheese, I guess, but we paid for everything in the cart. Like I get >> that you paid for some items, but you obviously didn't >> all of the items except for like eight things, I think it was. Like >> Eight things is kind of a lot of things that not scanned. >> get that. >> How do you forget eight times that you didn't scan something? >> Well, he I think he gets it I he said he thinks he confuses someone else's scan when he's scanning his beside him. >> That doesn't make sense. >> I mean, I get that, but at the same time feeding >> line of [ __ ] is what you're doing. >> Not at all. So, then the day No. >> It's every single time. I don't care how much you make. >> Okay, that's fine. >> But, listen to me. Every time >> to let you disrespect me. >> Every time you come here Every time you come here, you guys are caught not scanning things. >> Okay, that's fine. >> I'm going to step back in here. You're going to go to jail today, though. >> No, I'm not. >> Bet. Step inside. Stand up and turn around right now. >> No. >> Yeah, you're under arrest. >> No. For what? >> For stealing. >> I I didn't do nothing. What are you talking about? >> Right now, you're being detained. So, stand up. >> going to be detained. >> We paid for all items except eight items things. Yes, ma'am, that's called stealing. I guess she can't hear that right now, can she? Also, that's a lot of attitude for a shoplifter who just got caught red-handed. >> Okay. Let me verify something just real quick. Today, right now, she assisted in not scanning items, correct? >> She's got the register receipt there every time. >> Okay. And she She said she was looking around while he was not scanning items. >> Yeah, they >> But, I talk to a lot of people here. Do I Do I not need to video this? I know everybody. >> Here you go. >> And it's every time they're together, they're not scanning items when they're together, and she's doing the same behavior. >> Every time. >> Okay. You're under arrest. >> talk to everybody. >> You're under arrest. >> For what? >> Stand up. For theft. >> You cannot arrest >> If you don't stand up and turn around, you're going to be having additional charges added to your booking sheet. >> All right. Can I get my stuff from my husband then? >> No. But, it will hand it over when you do. >> of money in here. Can you just put it in my purse? Thank you. >> Turn around. I want your purse. >> No. >> It's all right. Okay. Just uh keep them separate while you're talking to him. I'll stay out here with your two daughters. >> Are you allowed to go through my purse like that? >> Yeah, you're under arrest. >> What does it mean you're on my property? >> That's one in handcuffs. Only one more to go. >> I have a past. I didn't mean to miss this. Like honestly, I didn't mean to miss >> Right, but you do realize that when you come in >> I I get I get what you're saying. >> You will >> I missed that plastic thing. I missed the body wash. >> But see what >> When I missed the plastic thing, I knew what I did. I hid it. >> Right. >> And then I thought I hid the gun. And then >> Right. >> not like I was just like, "Hey, you know what?" >> No, I understand. >> I'm still on this [ __ ] And that's a valiant thing you're doing as a man and whatnot, but I I do not believe that she did not know. >> No, she she >> She immediately told you to shut up and stop talking to us when you guys got in there. >> No, she wasn't saying that. She said I was talking too much. >> Mhm. Because you admitted to not scanning the stuff. >> She didn't want to do >> She didn't She didn't mean it like No, she didn't mean it like that, bro. I promise you >> feel like that. >> She was just telling up cuz I was talking. >> Pretty much saying he had >> This is a >> She had nothing to do with it. Um he was the one that missed items and saying that he knows that he missed them. >> We're here together every Uh did you watch the video? >> No, I haven't seen >> Watch today's video. And then she's trying >> No. >> She uh they're saying that she's like looking out for him and stuff. >> Good for him trying to defend his girl, but sad for them for trying to steal. >> Or the items the food and stuff. >> Food and >> Food, uh pregnancy test >> I really >> I knew it was all >> Everything was a food with a pregnancy test and like a body wash. >> Storage bump thing. >> You have a hard direction cards and cash on the same But how do you forget to scan eight items and then do it consistently over 20 times? You know what I'm saying? Like you I went to the store and I've scanned things and I make sure I'm doing a thorough job. And it And it happened one time, maybe, but eight times in one sitting and then and then multiple times in multiple sittings, it's beyond a it's beyond just a mistake, it's a pattern and it's showing that you're being thoughtful in stealing. >> I understand. >> After finishing with everything, the officers then put both of them under arrest and escorted them to the squad car. >> We good? We good? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Thank you. I appreciate it. >> Thanks. >> In the end, both of them were charged with felony theft. Let's move on to the next case where a shoplifter got herself arrested after pushing the police. >> But we're they were concerned because they thought you might be wearing them in both of them. No. No. No. No. Ashley, don't do that. >> Ashley, you No. >> Are you Are you insane? Insane? >> I'm not doing nothing wrong. >> You don't push a cop. >> On September 23rd, 2024, officers responded to a Walmart regarding a potential theft in progress. Here's what happened next. >> I tried two bras on and they were too small for me. >> Okay. >> Yes, sir. >> The ones you have on now, they found the tags for in the room. >> Oh. >> So, you you're just going to have to pay for them, right? >> This is my bra, though. You want me to pay for two bras that don't fit me? >> You walked out the dressing room with a pink and a black bra and went in the bathroom. Now you coming out the bathroom with a different set of bras on. >> I had a black one on. >> Yeah, we can't get both of them. The concern is that you're you're using an item and you're not paying for it. That's that's the concern, right? >> Apparently, but I'm You know what? I'll pay for I'll get a large and I'll pay for it. You want a large, but don't want these other bras. >> So, um do you have Do you have your ID? >> So, apparently, she walked into the bathroom with a set of bras and came out with another. Sounds suspicious, if you ask me. Let's see what excuses she will give. >> So what So what happened there? You You obviously went in there and they weren't your liking, right? >> Yeah, and they were too big. >> Okay. >> They were I'm sorry, they were too small. They were medium. They were too small. >> Okay. And so >> And I brought out the pants and shirts and I got one shirt that I'm fine. >> Okay. Was it like a variety pack or was it a >> It was a just a black and pink and green one, I think it was. >> Okay. Thank you. Are you uh living at any particular address though? >> I I don't. I'm >> Homeless currently? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> I'm staying at Safe Haven shelter. >> Do you know Oh, okay. What about Safe Haven? Have you tried Safe Haven? >> Um I usually talk to Officer Pony about um doing Tent City. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. He's the guy to stay in contact with, okay? >> Yes, sir. >> All right. Um nobody can make you pay for the things, but the thing is if you walk out of the store and they and you have them on you, it would technically be theft. >> I'll pay I'll pay for them, but I'm going to return them because they're not going to fit me. >> Well, that's the thing. Their concern is that you have them on you somewhere. Or you left them somewhere maybe in the bathroom. So we're just making sure. >> There's no browsing here. >> Okay. Well, let's show let's show Hey. Um she doesn't have them in her purse. So >> I don't >> Is it the black one that you have on? The black one she has on? >> they're mine. >> What? Okay. They didn't fit me. >> Okay, well did you leave them in the dressing room? >> I brought them back out. >> And where did you put them? >> I set them on the counter and then lady asked me where they were and I gave them to her along with the other short or the pair of pants >> Okay. >> and the um shirt and the sweatshirt. >> Okay. All right. So you don't you don't need them then. >> Still acting all confused, she continued to deny every accusation the employee made even though she was wearing the stolen goods on her body. >> I'm not a You guys are like $25 and no, I don't. I have This is crazy. >> What were you saying? >> It's $17.99. Set for two bras. >> As the investigation proceeded, she grew increasingly agitated. >> Give me a large. >> No, no, hold on, hold on, hold on. Hold on. No, no. Ashley, Ashley. Ashley. >> This pisses me off. >> I know. Listen, listen, listen. I'm trying to work with you. I'm on your side. I'm trying to understand the full story. My my >> is that lady was rude to me. >> Okay. Which which lady? >> The black lady. >> Okay. Just show me where >> Didn't even need the bra. >> Just show me where you put them and we'll work it out. >> I gave them to her. >> Okay. Okay. All right. Well, then if you're good, >> You know what? I'll pay for the $21 bras, but I I'm going to return them because I can't afford $21. >> you don't need to pay for something that you didn't buy, but we're they were concerned because they thought you might be wearing them in the bathroom. That's all. >> Okay. >> That's all. And if you're not, you're not. But if you are, they just want the product back. >> Where am I >> That's all. To prevent the whole theft issue. No, no, no, no. Ashley, don't do that. Ashley, don't do don't >> I'm just saying like there's I know I'm in public. >> That that's the concern. That was the only concern, okay? I can get food. >> No, Ashley, you can't You want to sign your trespass form? >> No. >> Okay, you trespass >> At this point, she was free to go. And that's the end of it, right? Of course not. Let's take a look at what stupid thing she's about to do next. >> Ashley >> Ashley >> No. >> Are you [ __ ] Are you insane? Are you insane? >> I didn't stop. >> Are you insane? >> I'm not doing nothing, mom. >> You don't push A CART. I just want you to hear Don't yell. >> This can't be right. That's my mascara, mama. >> Okay, well we're going to make sure. >> The same time you tell that this is what's yours, mama. >> We're going to rewind it. I asked you if you took my nails that were in my car. You said no, there they are all over the ground with the glue. >> No, those are mine. I got them on my hands. >> Stop talking to me. >> No, you stop lying. They're on my hands. >> I know cuz you glued it. >> No, I didn't. I promise. I got it for $5 at Five Below yesterday. >> So listen, let's find out. I'm going to rewind to make sure that the mascara isn't from here. The other red I'm going to try to keep the sports bra. You can still wear the [ __ ] >> Mine? The black one? >> That goes with the pink one cuz it's the same as the gray one, too. >> Okay, so I can't wear two bras? >> Sports bras? I don't care if you found a pink one. I didn't steal your bra. >> Lady, you are still wearing the stolen bra. Stop arguing and face the consequences of your actions. Ashley, are you are you wearing one of the bras that was from the pack? Okay, it's this it's the thicker one, right? Okay. Thank you for being honest. >> bras >> Undeniable. I want to go home and lay down with my medication. >> Ma'am, if you do that again, it's not going to help you at all. >> Just relax. Relax. >> Nothing is helping me. >> I'll bring this to you. >> Do you want your charges to keep racking up? You cannot do that. >> Because I'm speaking up for myself? >> No, because you're trying to escape and you're under arrest. >> I'm not escaping. I'm asking you to please just take me so I can get out. >> I know, but they still have a job to do. >> I didn't go to jail. What do you mean they're letting me out? >> She was charged with battery on a police officer, theft, and disorderly conduct. I'm an officer going to walk with you. I have my body camera on. Do you have your ID on you? >> No, I don't. >> Okay. Have you ever been arrested before? Okay. Here's the deal. We'll we'll Typically on these we don't go a criminal route, okay? But we do have like questions and stuff we got to ask. I know it's a lot right now. We'll work through you with you, okay? Not right now. No. You are detained. You are detained. No, it's that it We have to talk to you guys first and figure out exactly what's going on. Um there's a possibility you could be arrested, but that doesn't mean that's what we're going to do, okay? Do you have your ID on you? >> No. >> Okay. What's your first name? >> I'm Jayda. >> How old are you? >> I'm 18. >> Do you go to school here? >> Mhm. >> Okay. I'll have you hop up and we'll go chat over here, okay? >> The officer then moved the girl to another room to continue the investigation. >> Okay. Like I explained, you're just detained right now. We have to we have to read your rights before we're able to talk with you and figure out what happened, okay? >> Can you tell me like the worst that's going to happen? >> Worst? It depends on the amount of property that was taken. So, yeah. So, if it's anything under $300, it's a misdemeanor. >> I don't know how much it was. >> We'll figure it out. >> [snorts] >> I promise you. Hear me out for a second. I know a lot of people that have committed, you know, these thefts, and it doesn't affect I know it's a lot. It and it and it doesn't [snorts] I promise you, Jaden, hear me out. It'll be just fine. Just be honest about it. I promise the honesty. >> Well, not to be rude or anything, but if you're scared of getting into trouble, then don't go stealing stuff. Just saying. >> Okay, so um well, first, our friend told us that they had like Jellycats here. So, it's like a stuffed animal and then like I gave me a like um other people just like told me like that stealing's like easy. >> Mhm. >> So, then like I don't know. And I didn't even think about like looking at the price tags cuz I just like wasn't really thinking about it. I didn't know how much the like stuffed animals were. Kind of my intention was like come here cuz I didn't have any money. Cuz is that Is this thing Is what I'm saying is bad? >> No, just be honest. Yeah. >> Okay, I just don't want to go to jail. >> Yeah, no, it's okay. It's okay. >> this isn't going to happen, right? >> I I can't promise anything, right? Cuz I don't know all the details yet, but I just have to figure out what happened, okay? >> Okay. >> So, you did Did you have any money on you? >> Um well, yeah, I have my card my credit card, but only like $10. >> Okay, so not not very much. >> for the things. All of it I can pay for all of it. >> We'll talk about it later, okay? Yep. And then uh do you remember which items you stole? >> Um Jellycats and then some Skims stuff. >> Do you remember the specific ones? >> Uh a bra and then I think underwear. Bra, underwear, [snorts] and then a pajama thing. >> Um and how did you like take them? >> Well, I put the top on. >> Mhm. >> And then the Jellycats I just like put right here. >> Mhm. >> And then >> your pocket or something? >> Um well, like right here. Like right >> Like on your person. >> here. I think I actually have the underwear on me. >> Okay. You can just set that down. >> That's why I didn't feel anything. >> No, you're okay. >> Like right here. >> Okay. >> I put it right there. >> [snorts] >> When you left, do you know how far you made it? Like I'm assuming you didn't attempt to pay or anything like that. >> Um no. Well, well, my cuz I'm saying like let's go out that way, so we went out that way, and then this guy stopped us, and we just came in with them. >> Okay. So, did you make it outside the store? >> Yeah, but the guy like stopped us, and we didn't get far. >> Okay. But you never attempted to pay or anything? >> Mhm. >> That's Yes, you never attempted to pay. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Is that worse? >> No, that's okay. I'm just like I said, it's not a worse or better thing. It's just I have to understand the details of what happened, okay? Came here with These are all your friends, family, anything like that? >> Um one of them's my sister and one of them's um my cousin and then another one's just a friend. >> As the officer continued to talk to her, the loss prevention found more stolen goods inside their vehicle. >> This one is hers. She still had it on her. >> You wearing Uggs that you stole? >> No. >> I got you taking Uggs in your car. I just pulled it off. >> That was not my car. >> That was your car. I can show them right now. >> That's not my car. I drive a >> Whatever white car it is, you were with your friend and you guys both took Uggs and you ran out. >> That's her car, not my car. >> Well, she's getting charged, but I think it was you that was with her. >> No. >> Mhm. >> I pulled up. It's cool. Something about Uggs? Did you take any Uggs? >> Mhm, no. >> These ones are yours? >> Yeah, these are mine. >> Your friend told me that your friend always said it was you and her. Don't lie. I got everything. We already filed the police complaint. >> Okay, guys. I just don't want to know what's happening right now and this is just really >> It's hard but that's what >> Just just be honest about it. It's not good to lie about it. >> Okay, I don't know what Can someone just please let me know what's happening? >> Did Did you take the Uggs? Yes or no? >> Yeah, this was like a long time ago. >> 9 25. I got it all there. We filed a police report. He just [snorts] wasn't here when you did it. He was on the ones, but he had them all for it. >> Yeah. >> Oh, so this is a pre This is a pre >> They weren't our shoes cuz we had to wait for her to come back. I didn't know that was Uggs, so >> So this isn't the first time that you've stolen? >> Well, from here because our friend told us that they had like all these things here. We wouldn't have just We didn't even know about this. >> Were these from her? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> We didn't Sorry, I didn't I didn't know they were on me. >> That's okay. So, what Do you remember stealing those? >> Yeah, it was like a while ago though. I haven't even like worn them or nothing. >> Okay. So September sound right? >> I don't know. >> Okay. That time when you took the other Uggs, was it just the Uggs or did you take more than one thing? >> Uh it was just the Uggs. >> Okay. >> Does this make it worse, too? Is everything making it worse? >> Well, I can tell you one thing, lying about it does not help it at all. >> Okay. >> So, just be honest about what happened. >> Okay. >> Right? That's That's really all we're looking for, okay? This It's I promise you that most of the time we're able to figure out, you know, like between your criminal history, all that things come into play. Once you lie about it, it's a problem. >> this criminal or something. >> No, I I get it. I get it, okay? >> Sorry, I just turned 18 and now I'm like I'm probably going to get arrested or It's all right. >> You're You're just a teen right now, okay? We still got to figure out the amount of value and stuff like that, okay? >> Okay, but that's That's fine. >> What's that? >> I don't know. I'm just Can you tell me? >> going to go in and chat right now, okay? If you could just go back in here and we'll sit down with your friends, okay? What's that? >> If it's over 300, I'm getting arrested? >> Uh, we still got to figure out the value. It's a possibility. >> As this officer was questioning this girl, another officer was speaking with one of the other girls involved in the theft. >> Have you ever been arrested for retail theft? >> not. >> Okay. With retail thefts, um, the felony amount is $300. I don't know what your amount is yet. They're They're pressing it up. >> What do you think about that? >> Okay. So, with that, if you don't have any prior charges and it's $64, I'll write you an ordinance violation, okay? An ordinance violation is like a speeding ticket and it doesn't go on your record if it's paid or if you go to court. You have to You got to do one of those two things. If you neglect the ticket, you then get charged for >> Yeah, absolutely. >> for it and you'll get a warrant out for your arrest, okay? >> Yeah. >> Let me find out the the price. >> Yeah. >> If it's like you said, just the one item and it's that price and you don't come back, I'll write you an an OV, okay? >> Yes. >> So, I'll have you come back in here. Do you have a total for >> I >> her? >> Oh. >> For her? >> Which was >> Just this $34. >> 34? >> The officer then moved the last girl to a separate room to question. >> Come on over here, okay? Has an officer spoken to you yet? Okay, just got your name. >> Mhm. Okay. Okay, so here's the deal. Um, here you can have that back. Here's the deal with this. I got to you're technically detained right now, okay? I have to I have to read you your rights before I'm able to talk with you, okay? Um, so let me just do that and then okay. Realizing that you don't want to talk to me. That's a yes? Okay. How old are you? 24. So the biggest thing I just expect honesty like I said I we have to investigate the whole thing fully but if I come back to it later and hey, they left out this part, this part, this part, you know, to me that shows that even though you're caught you're not really going to change your actions after, right? Um, so can you just explain to me what what exactly did you steal today? >> Some Skims stuff I think like three Skims bras, the Skims pajamas and other pajamas. >> Okay. Um, and then how did you steal those? >> Um, I put a bra in my bag and then I put on the other stuff on. >> Okay. Um, and did you have intent like did you ever go up and try to pay or anything or you just left? >> I just left. >> Okay. How far did you make it past the last point of sale? >> Um, well the dressing room was just right by the door so I didn't even walk. >> So you left out the door to like the outside you made it outside? That's a yes? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Did you return all of the items? Okay, 100% you have no okay. Cuz Jayden still had one on her so I was like making sure. What's up though? >> I would say just more probable cause separate love wards for all four of them. >> Why? >> And that's what are you planning on doing over here? >> Um, I still got to look at the I still got to still got to look at the values. >> Okay, I wrote the one value of that the first girl. >> Yeah. >> Um, I don't know her value. >> Okay. >> It's going to be the most. >> The most value? >> Yeah. >> Okay. All right. Um okay, I think that's >> still the same? >> The officers then informed them about the result of the investigation. >> You guys are going to be good to go. You guys have to get processed before you're released, you and her. We're going to be taking you down to a jail, but you'll be released from there. You're not going to be staying, no. You have to go to get processed, okay? It's basically like fingerprints, photographs. There'll be a court date assigned to you, yep. >> Like it's possible to go to jail from this? >> Yes, it is possible. If you got sentenced that, remember that you have no criminal history, right? Okay. Um so, what'll happen is you guys will come with us. I was explaining this, but She explained it. Yep. Come get you guys. It It takes typically like an hour, 2 hours to get processed in, okay? >> And what? >> We're just talking about the values cuz you're getting uh a non-criminal ticket for the first ugg thing, okay? >> Think of it like a speeding ticket. You pay it, it goes away. >> Yeah. >> Are we really going to have to get arrested to go there? >> Yeah, you have to be placed in the custody. I'm sorry, it's our policy. >> Are we in different cars? >> Yep. >> Okay. >> It would be nice. >> We got to do it, so I'll take this. Just put your hands on the wall. Sorry, just make sure it's being done. >> Do you have your paperwork still? It's in your pocket. Okay, cool. It's being put in handcuffs. Understand it's only temporary, okay? We'll get down there, uh transport you down there. Bless him, 10-minute drive, and you'll be released from there, okay? It's just a process that we have to go through, okay? And I'll explain everything. If you have any questions, seriously, just talk to me. We'll get through it together. >> Both girls were charged with felony theft. Moving on to the next case where an entitled shoplifter went bananas when things didn't go her way. >> Here's how this goes. Are you going to listen to me? Will you listen to me?
