On April 17th, 2026, officers were dispatched to the College of the Florida Keys dorms following reports of an alleged battery involving multiple students. According to the victim, what started as a verbal confrontation over ongoing issues quickly escalated into a physical altercation leaving one student with visible injuries. By the time this footage begins, officers were already speaking with the suspect as they continued their investigation. >> If she wants to press charges on me, I'm going to go ahead and let you guys know she sells drugs. She sells coke. >> You You said You said You said I heard you. Did she say she was? >> She was just kind of getting into the beginning of the story, so let me go find that information. >> Okay. Here, in the meantime, you want to while you're doing that, you want to sit Did you run her already? >> The other girl she's getting the information. >> Okay. So, [snorts] you can you read my writing? That's J A S, yep. And then middle name and last name? Date of birth? >> 1992 2003. >> Is anybody else in here with you? >> No, it's just my cat. >> Okay. >> I'm going to get her now. >> Is your cat going to be okay by itself? If >> Am I being arrested? >> I don't know, but in the if you were >> If I were No, I don't have anyone to take her, but you're not taking my cat from me. I'm sorry. She's my baby. That's my emotional support animal. She's a service animal. >> Okay. I understand. But, if you're getting arrested, yeah, your cat's not going with you. >> Well, my roommate's here. >> Okay. Well, that's what I was asking. >> I would like to know now so I can call my mom and let her know that I'm getting arrested. >> So, listen, this is how it works, okay? >> I'm not trying to be I'm just like super upset. >> So, listen, I appreciate your forthcomingness, okay? But, right now, we're just waiting, okay? She's going to go ask her if she wants to press charges. >> Well, she hit me back, so it was mutual. >> Well, she probably hit you in self-defense, it sounds like. But, I don't know because I haven't really spoken to her. So, right now, we're just waiting. You're being cooperative, so I see no reason putting you in cuffs right now. Right? You've been forthcoming. So. >> I really don't want a record at all. I'm studying to do what you do. >> Yeah. >> Like I'm studying criminal justice. I have mental issues. I've been in mental hospitals. I'm diagnosed. I'm not medicated anymore. >> You maybe should be. I don't know. >> Are you trying to tell me something like >> No, I'm asking. >> I guess I'm all right. >> I don't know. >> I feel fine without them. >> Well, I mean were you fine when you lost your temper and hit someone? You know, is that fine? >> No, not really, but it was a heat of the moment type of thing. She disrespected me. And I snapped. I already have a lot going on. >> Come on, everyone. Uh signal 14. We're both with the uh victim and the uh suspect. Don't get on your phone right now. >> I'm trying to text >> So, don't get on your phone right >> I can't call my mom. >> No. >> Why not? >> Because I said so. Okay? You're not making any calls right now. You're not texting anybody. Okay? >> For what? >> Because. >> Because why? >> Because I'm saying so. That's why. >> Okay. >> So, your roommate is you said they're not there now? >> She's not here right now. >> But she is going to come back. Like she's staying here. >> Yeah. I would like can you just be straight up with me? Am I going to jail yes or no? >> Okay, what did I just tell you? You have a hard time listening. Okay, I explained to you very calmly exactly what we were doing. Do you remember what I said we were doing? Which is what? >> Investigating. >> Right. Waiting, right? Waiting to see if she wants to press charges. Okay? So, if she says she doesn't want to press charges, then I guess it's your lucky day. Okay? Cuz she's the victim, so she gets to decide. >> She's really not. >> In this instance, yes. >> It works for each individual. Can you get her and ask her to come up and go in the room cuz I might be going to jail. >> Jail? You like Hello Kitty? >> Yeah. What makes you say that? My socks? >> Mhm. >> I have a tattoo of her on my back. >> It's just signal 14. I'm at room 214 with the suspect. >> This is ridiculous. She harasses me for weeks on end and then finally I end up putting my hands on her now is probably She's been harassing me for months. Months. >> How? >> Talking about me. Just won't keep my name out of her mouth. Just always bothering me. She would come over here and she'd flip my doormat upside down. She'd come bang on my door. Just like causing issues between me and my friends. Saying that I talked [ __ ] about my friends when I never talked [ __ ] about my friends ever at all. She's just been like disrespectful. Like it would just it's ridiculous. And then on top of that it's just been months and months and months and months and months of her just harassing me and bothering me and bothering me and won't stop talking about me. Won't stop flipping my mat and just >> How do you know it was her that she was flipping your mat? She said >> Because they've seen her do it. >> They've seen her do it? >> Can you keep an eye on her cuz I might be going to jail. >> All right, ma'am. Yeah. >> Yes. >> All right, ma'am. >> And then my friend tried to jump me. The black girl with the braids, the dark-skinned girl that's pregnant. She jumped me with her, so >> What do you mean she jumped you? >> She jumped into the fight and tried to hit me while I was fighting her friend cuz her friend was getting beat up. >> Okay. So she tried to help her friend. >> Yeah, she tried to jump me. They They tried jumping me. >> I really wouldn't call that them trying to jump you when you're the one who initiated the violence. >> Can you blame me though? If somebody's been picking at you for months on end, wouldn't you get sick and tired of it? >> So there's [snorts] a difference between you know non-violent actions and violent actions. >> I went to talk to her about it like an adult and then she disrespected me and she started getting loud with me and her body language was giving I want to fight. She stood up. >> So, why didn't you leave? That would have been the more reasonable thing to do. You went over there in good faith to try and talk to her. She was being disrespectful, then why stay there and continue to be disrespected? Why not just walk away? Isn't there somebody here like in charge of these dorms? Like There's no There's nobody in charge of the dorm. There has to be. >> There's the building manager. She's upstairs. >> Okay, so the building manager. >> I'm sure he doesn't know about it. >> So, things like this >> Brie, can you try and find Casey, please, and have her come here? Cuz I don't know. She went with Shay. >> Casey, your roommate? >> Huh? >> Casey, your roommate? >> No, that's my roommate. Casey's my friend who was there who can attest to the fact that they did both try and hit me. >> Okay. So, obviously there was a physical altercation All right here. Um so, supposedly this girl who stays in this room or supposedly just came in the room. All right, with seven other girls. I think there were a total of eight according according to her. Okay? Two of the girls that was part of the eight stays in here as well. Okay? Well, they came in. Words were said. The one female in question that stays in the end just walked up to her when she was sitting on the couch, her and her friend. And then just hit her. All right, and then obviously altercation started exploding in front of them. Okay? I don't know what you need to do, but chances are she wants to press charges, so she's going to be other females are going to probably going to be arrested for that. Okay? So, just let me know. >> case number for her Yeah. Let's go get a hold of Probably, yeah. So, again, somebody's like messing with your stuff in the dorm area. >> already told him about it. Guess what he did? Nothing. >> Okay, well, call us. >> What are y'all going to do? >> I don't know. >> What are y'all going to do for this? Every time I call y'all and tell you something and somebody's harassing me, nobody ever does [ __ ] for me. >> We'll come back. We'll talk and we'll see where where it goes from there. All right? But, I can't tell you all this exactly what's going to happen because I don't know exactly what's happening. Have you ever called us before? >> Here? >> Yeah. >> Yes, in regards to her? No. In regards to her, I've talked to my building manager about it, but >> So, what we'll have to figure that piece out, but obviously, she doesn't she's afraid that, you know, one pressing charges, but I mean, they'll get her out. >> charges. I don't want her to press charges. >> Yeah. So, the you know, it's just more of all right, if intimidation factor, right? You know what I mean? >> Yeah. >> So, the one girl who probably is going to go to jail tonight for battery, now you have seven of her friends >> Mhm. >> that might, you know, I don't know who the other seven are. >> Yeah. >> But, two of them stay in here, correct? Yeah. >> Got you. >> So, I'm going to go down there, talk to the other officer, and what we're going to do is do obviously do a report, transfer that person who's probably going to go to jail for battery, >> Mhm. >> and then uh we'll get a case number and everything. All right? >> I'm moving out soon anyways. This is so stupid. I'm not even going to stay here, so I'm leaving. >> Where are you going? >> I'm moving in with my friend in 3 days. >> Okay. So, listen. You're an adult now. You're in college now, okay? So, you [music] need to leave the high school stuff behind. Okay, and what and what I mean by that? Well, clearly not. Okay? I'm about to explain to you, okay? If someone's talking about you, like who cares what people say about you? >> Usually I don't care, but the [ __ ] that she was saying was disgusting. >> So, that doesn't matter. You know, this is America, free speech, all right? She could Yeah, free speech. >> Nothing in this country is free anymore. >> Yeah. Well, the speech is, okay? So, and that's not true. There's a lot of people who would tell you that they've been getting free stuff. Anyhow, that's a whole different topic. But, >> [laughter] >> all right, my point is, if someone's just talking about you, like they're just talking [ __ ] like so what? People are going to talk [ __ ] throughout your life, all right? Coworkers, you know, like a whole slew of places, all right? Other people, you go to a restaurant, they don't like the way you look, maybe that maybe they'll talk [ __ ] you know? I'm just saying. You need to You need to not not not let it get to this level just because somebody was talking [ __ ] >> I don't care. It was just I got sick of it. Like it's been months of her just harassing me and I >> I'm finding out whether she wants to press charges or not. >> She does. >> She does? >> Yes. >> Oh, okay. Let's get some shoes on your feet. >> Are you serious? Can I call my mom? >> Turn around. Turn around. Turn around. >> That's crazy, bro. >> [snorts] >> Are you serious, bro? >> She wants to press charges, so. >> Okay. I hope that >> That's a tough job. Let's go and get some shoes. You don't want shoes? >> No, I don't. >> Okay. Do you want anything out of Do you want anything out of your uh drawer? >> Okay. >> Stop and listen. Do you want anything out of your drawer, like an ID, a wallet, purse, something? >> Can I go grab it? I'm not going to run. Like, come on. >> Yeah, so we're going to go. >> No, I don't want you coming in my apartment. >> Well, so listen, I'm not going to let you go in there by yourself. >> Can I grab my stuff? >> Okay, so I will walk in with you if you want to grab some stuff. Do you want to walk in and grab some stuff or no? Yes? Okay, good. What's that, kitty? >> I can't. My wallet is right here. >> This is your wallet? >> Yes. >> Okay. What else do you want? Just this wallet? What about this purse? >> There's nothing in that purse. >> Okay, so just this wallet. >> Mommy loves you. >> Come on, sell one. There's one of those belts. Uh excuse me, one of those belts everything. You don't want keys to your place or anything like that? >> No. >> No? >> Is Casey >> Okay. Let's not Let's not yell, okay? >> Well, I need to find my friend cuz >> You're not finding nobody. All right? >> talking to you, so >> Well, I'm telling you you're not going to find nobody, all right? >> This is crazy. Like, she's been harassing me for months. >> You shouldn't want shoes. >> No, I'm fine. >> Okay, they'll give you some They'll give you some orange shoes. I don't know what being Cuban has anything to do with it. Okay. Okay, so listen, I'm going to hold on to you, okay? Because we're going downstairs. All right, I'm going to stand over here. You want to go get your car? >> I can't call my mom? >> So when you get to the jail, listen, this is how it's going to work. They're going to in-process you. Okay, [snorts] they're going to >> I've never done Okay, this is so stupid. She's been harassing me for months. I'm going to kill myself, actually. Let's get there. Let's get there. I'm going to kill myself. How about that? Now what? >> Really? >> Yeah, really. I don't care. I've tried it five times before. I'll do it again. >> Really? >> Yeah, really. Really. >> Sorry to hear that. >> Really. >> And I'm sorry you feel that way. >> You sure? Cuz it really doesn't seem that way. I'm telling you this girl's been harassing me for months. Months. No one does anything. I go over there, I ask her, "Why are you talking about me? I thought we moved past all this stuff." She disrespected me and I snapped. I haven't snapped I haven't I don't have a record. I don't have a record. I'm not a bad person. >> I didn't say that. >> I'm not. Well, you're treating me like one. >> No. >> Like I'm a [ __ ] criminal. >> I'm treating you like someone who committed battery. >> Like someone >> Okay. >> battery. Okay. >> That's what it's called. >> She hit They tried to jump me. >> After you hit her, okay? >> I didn't even really hit her. All I really did was grab her hair and I pulled her on the ground. That was it. She hit me. >> Mhm. >> She punched me first. She punched me first. I didn't punch her. I grabbed her by her hair and I pulled her on the ground and then she punched me and her little pregnant friend tried to jump in. >> Mhm. So, do you want me to explain to you how it's going to work when you get to the jail or no? >> Yeah, go ahead. You can explain. >> Okay. Well, I was trying to, but then you, you know. >> Either way, I'm going to kill myself, so. >> Okay. >> Yeah, so go ahead and take me to the mental hospital. >> So, once they finish in processing you, they're going to let you take whatever phone numbers you need out of your phone and then they have a phone there that they're going to let you use. Okay? So, Jasmine just told me that she wants to kill herself and that she's tried it and that she's tried it five times before. Come over here. >> Don't pull me. >> Then listen. All right, search her. >> Please, I'm on the phone with my boyfriend. Babe. >> Go ahead and >> Don't >> know how you managed that. >> No. What the [ __ ] This is crazy.
