She also said that you weren't supposed to have her for ID and that there was no reason in the past for you to have it. >> That is a lie. >> She said that she had to let you go because you were writing checks from the company's check. >> Yes, I did write checks. >> All right, we have a pattern here. You know, >> I just found out I was pregnant. I wouldn't tell him, please. I didn't know it was stolen. If I knew I did something wrong, I probably would have dipped out of there. >> Oh my gosh, you're on for a fraud. >> Yes, I do have a history of fraud, but I didn't use the credit card. It's honestly unbelievable how confident these Karen fraudsters are while scamming, lying, and pretending nothing's wrong right up until the cops show up and the act falls apart. >> It is a felony. So, I mean, it's over $10,000 in life or whatever. So, >> $10,000 in product. >> I'm running a business. I work full time. I take care of two kids. >> What are you thinking? >> Welcome to Police X10, where attitude meets authority. Let's take a look at today's cases in Cops versus the Dumbest. Karen fraudsters got caught while scamming, starting with this case where a spoiled girl's $450 salon scam exploded in her face. >> What's going on? Um the nail price there and then we do everything $50 and we have time to pay her outside and she keep on we we know something going on. We all like be uh like um be careful you know and then try to get in the car and then she back to go to the bathroom right and she go to the bathroom why she open the door even she should tell us what we can her but her friend already gone the already runs and then she gave me the car she run the bag I grab her back [laughter] and then she run the back I screaming my friend got her roll and then she gave me the car the cars don't have money in there so she got to pay for what She tried to run away. >> Okay. So, so her and a friend, I'm guessing they so they came in here. They both they both got their nails done, right? >> And last year done and last. >> Okay. So, nails. So, they obviously Okay. So, there were services that were done. So, the services get have not yet been paid, right? >> Okay. So, she's still here. Her friend is her friend ran away. >> Should she leave on foot? Did she drive away? I I don't bike so I don't pay attention. >> Can you tell her to sit down? >> Miss, can I have you sit down for a minute? >> Can I talk to you? >> Can I finish with her and then I'll go speak with you? I promise. >> After talking with the owner, the officer came to speak to the suspect, but the scene was a mess with the staff and the suspect yelling at each other. >> Okay, miss. >> Thank you. So, let me start with um your your ID's in your purse, right? >> Huh? >> Your ID's in your purse. >> My ID is in my >> Can I please go get my phone from outside? >> The lady grabbed me when I was trying to go. They locked the door on some weird cuz me and her was supposed to pay too. >> I was trying to go outside, but was not trying to let me go outside or some weird exit in the back door and she tackled me. So, I panicked. I got scared and Junior didn't rush there. So, I ran away. Why did you tackle me trying to >> Let me start with >> I was I never What's your first name? >> My name is Andy. >> Spell it for me. >> Andy. >> As the backup officer arrived to separate the staff and the suspect, the male officer could finally take her statement. >> She said they were supposed to pay together. I don't know what happened from that point. I'm still getting the bottom. She's still here. Her friend took off. >> So, what? >> Well, actually, they chased her. >> They had to chase her and bring her back. >> Anyway, she wasn't talking to you. She was talking to me. >> I don't care. I don't care. >> I don't care. [laughter] >> I don't care who the you are. I will beat you. >> Do it. DO IT. DO IT, BRO. Cuz I got 450. I [laughter] got 450, bro. Don't get my DON'T GIVE MY OUTFIT TO >> I'M NOT OKAY. OKAY. >> You're talking with me. >> Me, not her. >> Okay. >> Ignore. >> All right. >> Let her let her speak with them. Okay. >> Talk. You're talking to me right now. All right. >> Anyways, like I was saying. >> All right. So, last name is Reynolds. R E N. >> Huh? >> Reynolds. How do you spell that? >> R E Y. >> R E Y. >> Uh-huh. N O LDS. >> If I pay for this, can I please get on this weird hair salon? >> That's what I'm in the process of. [laughter] >> She's speaking with her right now. >> Weird. >> Okay. So, what happened? You You and your friend came in. >> So, me and my friend had came in for a set and lashes, right? >> Okay. >> So, me and her already agreed before we came over here that she was going to pay for her half and I was half. We were supposed to put our money together to pay for the whole set, >> which was the 450, right? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> So, when >> when it was time like when I was getting my lashes done, she had left out to go smoke and I was trying to tell her to come out. So like she was like, "Oh, the dude in front of the door and whatnot." And I had realized that the dude was standing in front of the door. So I went to push the door and whatnot and the door was locked. So weird. So she was like, "Just go the exit door." What? So I tried to go out to the exit door that way to go to her so we could talk about how we going to do this cuz we was never going to run away. That's stupid. the came and grabbed me and and trying to like hold me and I panicked cuz I wasn't expecting that from I I I wasn't expecting that. So I panic and I took my jacket off cuz she was trying to like hold me so I ran because she scared me and then they had caught me. >> Okay. >> And then the car when her back come back she tell me try the car she have money but when I rent the car the car say decline mean don't have no money. >> So it still hasn't been paid for. And she went back. Oh my god. She gave me no fair. She acting so crazy. >> She keep running around walking around the middle. No, no, no. That's is a a pirate only inspired people walking. No. >> The officer then tried to find out who her friend was who ran away. >> Who's your friend? >> The one that's the one that took off. Where is she? Do you know? >> I don't know. >> Okay. What is What is her name? >> M I R I C L E. last name? >> I don't know. >> Do you know her date of birth? >> No. >> Do you have her? Do you know her number? >> Not by her. My phone is back there. Kind of go get it. Okay. Can >> you escort me back there to get my phone? >> Hang on. So, Miracle is no longer here. She straight up. >> I don't know where she at. She probably panic when she seen me running. So, she probably ran the other way cuz that's what I would have did too. Why is y'all chasing after me like I'm trying to steal or something? Y'all weird. >> Okay. Okay. So, how did y'all get her like get in here? Oh, when I I I >> she just and she everything stole and I screaming, "Bro, don't hit me." She ran out. She ran out. So the tall one, she run quick and they try every screaming in the back over there. >> But how did y'all get her back in? Like did y'all She was just holding her. I promise they that's each guy had her hand like this. They didn't touch her. They just was holding her bringing her back in. That's it. >> Okay. But but when we bring her back, she good girl. We hope >> Exactly. You want to show when the police get here, girl, you you ain't none of that. We was talking all cash money about her before y'all came in her face and she was saying that. Girl, you going to talk all that crap cuz you got body, baby. Cuz I was so strong. You so strong. Oh my god. So, >> man, I missed her. >> I didn't even know when I got >> So, she was escorted back in when they got a hold of her. She wasn't dragged back in. So, let me ask you this. Do you by yourself have the means to pay for your services that you guys got today? >> Yes. >> You do? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> So, cuz like if so, when they get back up, I'll [laughter] speak with I'll speak with the store, see what route she wants to go. Like I said, if you're more than willing to pay for the services, then I don't foresee us having too much of a problem. But like I said, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. I just have to wait for them to come back up. Okay. >> The officers then let her pay for the nail service. However, her attitude in the meantime is absolutely horrendous. >> Miss Reynolds, what are the other means that you have to pay for your services? >> Can I call them? Can I get my phone so I can contact people? >> I mean, I don't have a problem with that. >> Thank you. Want to know how to mind this business? >> Ma'am, weird. >> Get your get your money up, not your up. I don't give a that's not the reason why I'm red mind your business $200 hairstyle baldheaded ass >> for real that came out today you still pay for it you're weird >> what's your um how you say your first name >> and D and D >> Y and D Y and >> A and D that's the that's like it's no nickname that's not nickname she said that's that's are you what are I'm 18. >> 18. Um, >> looking at Do you have a problem on that? DO YOU HAVE A PROBLEM? OKAY, AT LEAST I HAVE ONE. Do you have hair under that that you wear? Okay, then. So, shut up and stop. If you're not GOING TO SWING, THEN SHUT the up. Shut the up, >> man. Wish your mama. I'm not I'm not dealing with these. They not going to swing then. What the >> man? I don't want to talk no weird, man. >> Okay. This funny. Keep talking. She be looking at me. I'm going to beat her ass, bro. I'm going to give her my jail time. >> Could you send one more to this? >> Pop me. Hop me. Excuse me. >> We got to press charges. Can you [laughter] pop me? >> We're not doing that. >> $2,000. >> We're not doing that. >> Let her go. You ain't got to press charges. I ain't going to press charges. >> Pop me down. POP ME DOWN. >> POP ME DOWN. We not >> shut up. >> The more she stayed in that salon, the more agitated she got. So the officers decided to put her in handcuffs. >> I started talking when you when you came mind your business. That's when I started talking. He wasn't talking to you. He was talking to me in LA. It didn't have to do with you. I was the But as soon AS YOU START, YOU STARTED GETTING [ __ ] THAT'S WHEN I STARTED TALKING. >> Just figure out how we going to get this paid right now. Let's just focus on that right now. >> I'll call you back home. Let me call my girlfriend. You said what? >> 450. >> 450. >> Yes. You said what? >> Yeah. >> That's how Yeah. >> All right. Let me go. Let me go run this. You okay? >> Yeah. Yeah, I'm good. I just >> What happened? Did she start? >> I'm Well, I'm I'm probably going to have to detain. >> That's what's going to have to happen. Stand up. Hold on. Adriel say I'm have to detain. I'm about to put you in my car because >> she finished calling. >> You can call but you got to call out the car cuz put your invite back. >> Can I get my phone? >> You can get your phone when you get in the car. >> Yeah. >> Cuz if y'all going to keep arguing, >> we not doing that. >> After separating them again, the officer let her call somebody to pay her. Right. >> Uh, so what about payments? >> We're working on She's making a couple She's making a couple of calls. Like I said, we're working on >> Okay. >> Thank you so much. >> I'm just like So, we're just going We're holding on to this as well. >> Stop. >> No. Stop. >> Whatever. I'm sorry. Thank you. >> Slow down. I told him we was I said I was sent for him. >> All right, I'm about to take these handcuffs off you. What I need you to do is call me. >> Hey, I'm in the police car. Can you please call your mother? >> In the police car. >> Can you please call your mother? Jay, >> she right here. >> Well, actually, no. Stay in these for right now. You're sucking. Okay. >> Who is Mrs. Jay? >> I'm going have to keep you in these room. >> Can you put on merch? >> Huh? >> Who Who go to Who? I need to call. >> Um, go up. >> Where's your home girl? >> I don't know. This This is a thing. >> This is That's a theft by service charge. I'm just let you know that. So, >> the girl who left, she needs to come up here cuz if y'all don't pay this, that's a charge. >> We're going to pay this. >> Oh, >> yes. It's me. >> Hi. >> Off on uh >> who's um >> That's my car. >> That's fine. >> This is yours. Okay. >> That's not right anymore. >> And they're not on Utah. >> No. >> All right. So, >> what's going on? Let me Let me get that. >> Why' you take my phone? >> Because you're in handcuffs. >> I know most places they don't >> The thing is >> Thank you. >> is we at a great area. They kind of did a kidnapping when they pulled her back in here, right? So if she get charged, they going to get charged. >> So the person >> So the person who's coming to pay for it, >> why did y'all run out of >> $450? >> $450. >> What kind of nails did she get? >> Look at them Nintendo. She said that she said her friend came on to have a cigarette. >> Any charges or miracle, too? >> I mean, theft of services, but that's that's about it. She's 16. I think she's 16. >> In the end, she was charged with theft of services and disorderly conduct. She was banned from the salon. You can fix the bill and still lose the situation. Calm cooperation could have ended this with payment and a warning. Hostility turned it into criminal charges and a permanent ban. Just when the officer thought they'd seen it all, along came a daughter who tried to scam her own elderly mother. >> Let you go because you were writing checks from the companies and checks. >> Yes, I did write checks. >> Pattern here. You know what I'm saying? This is >> I understand that an ongoing pattern of you using other people's stuff without their permission. She also said that you weren't supposed to have her for ID and that there was no reason in the past for you to have it. >> That is a lie. On the 6th of May, 2022, an officer responded to a follow-up investigation regarding a fraud case in which a woman's credit card had been used fraudulently to make purchases totaling thousands of dollars just days earlier and was used again that morning to book a hotel room. Here's what happened next. >> Hey, can Allison, come on out. Hey. Um, >> yeah, I was just on the phone with my mom. They weren't supposed to charge the um >> I don't want the door shut. >> Um they weren't supposed to charge the room. It was supposed to hold the room. It says on the app. Like I just talked to my mom about that. >> Well, for her visa. >> Yeah. Like I didn't even know her visa was on there. >> So I wanted to talk to you last week before all this. >> About what? >> About here. Actually, I'll tell you what. Because I want to talk to you about it. I'm going to redo your rights because the nature of what I'm asking you about. It doesn't mean I'm placing you under arrest right now, but because I'm asking you about it, I got to read your rights. >> Uh, is there anybody else inside right now, by the way? >> No. >> No, I just I didn't have my key, so I didn't want the door to shut. >> You have the rights to remain. >> After reading her rights, the officer began to question her about the fraudulent case. >> Request. Do you understand these rights? >> These rights are mine. Are you willing to talk to me? The reason I wanted to talk to you last week was about the charges on her Target card from the weekend. >> From what? >> From last weekend. So, I was called. She had charges on her card. Didn't know who it was. Um, but they were over the weekend. >> They were over the weekend and they were at Target with a Target card. So, That was the initial reason that I was called. >> Do you have any clue about the charges on her card? >> No, she said something about her. Um, I got to look at my text messages, but uh, no, I don't have her target card. >> So, she has it. It's in her possession. Yeah. >> Okay. >> I'm asking if you know about the charges. >> No. >> All right. So, they did get footage of someone using it. Now, our process takes a little longer to have access to the footage, but they described a younger female that matches your description. So, eventually, we're going to look at that footage. Is it going to be you on the camera using her credit card? Because >> I I I don't have her card. >> I I'm telling you, I know that she has it. I understand that, but there's only so many people in her life who could have gotten into her home, picked up the card, went to the store within the time frame that you borrowed her car, and then returned the car to her purse. There's not a whole lot of people would have accessed like that. >> I wasn't even home at the time that she said that the charges were happening. >> No, it sounds like you borrowed her car on like a Thursday and you brought it back on what was it, Sunday? >> Uh, Monday morning. >> Monday morning. So that same time that you picked up our car and brought the car back was the same time that the credit card was same window that the credit card was used within. So I could totally see a scenario where when you go to pick up the car >> grab a card >> use it for the weekend, bring it back cuz there's going to be footage of whoever used the card at the store. >> I understand. >> And then we just so happened to have you using her car here. No, I used the Choice hotel account to hold the room because they were going to book up. They're not supposed to charge anything. It's It says on it no prepayment or anything like that. >> So, you don't have her Visa card with you? >> No. >> Would you be willing to show that like your wallet or your purse doesn't have any of her credit cards in it? >> Upon inspecting the woman's wallet, the officers discovered her mother's ID tucked inside, which further solidified the proof of her scamming her own mother. >> You had mom's ID with your stuff. Oh, that was um it's an expired one. But when I had to do her I used to her basically her system. So I do all of her payments, everything for her and I just >> This is like expired 2 years ago though. >> Yeah, that's when I used to work for her. >> I still have all >> and why not just have your own choice account? Why not? Like why still use it with hers? >> Trying to get free nights. >> Hey, so they want to verify when I gave you my ID. I gave you my ID, my card. Correct. >> Do you guys have it saved like on file? What ID and what card was given initially? >> Yeah. The first time you pay on with your credit card entard that was on April 27th. And is there still money owed right now or is she all paid? >> Well, with this credit card is uh probably in charge for tonight tomorrow. >> Okay. Last night it's all covered. >> Last night it's covered. You have until 11 to leave. >> And what card was last night? >> I paid cash, right? I paid cash. >> Well, they paid to the third party. We had no information. The only >> That wasn't her card. It was >> Yeah, it was paid with a speedia visual card. speed. >> Does it show how much it is? >> Yeah, she pay according to this this she paid $80. I don't know because charge extra. >> Was there any like $200 charges on there? 240ish >> uh for tonight for this money. Yeah. >> Okay. >> Do you have the receipts for any of the ones you paid for on your like from the website emails or anything like that? >> Um yeah. Yeah. I was trying to find [music] out cuz my Dave card's not in there. The master card he was talking about is not there. >> The first one. >> Yeah. You said the last four. The master card was >> Yeah, I think right now >> I'm going to print the information right now of the credit card to use now. 236, >> right? That's the one that went on my mom's. >> So, here's um >> Give me one second. The officer then called the mother to confirm if she had shared any transactions with the woman. >> Just today, it seemed like they were done through a choice app. Is there an app that you all have shared together in the past? So, you've never had the choice app for hotels and you never put your card in any kind of choice app. And this one is a new card. The last one you canled. Okay. >> Not really tech savvy, I'll be honest with you, but because um I just had so many fraudulent charges over the time. Have you ever given her permission to have your ID? >> My ID? Yeah. >> Your Florida driver's license, even an old expired one that expired in 2020? >> Uh, no. [laughter] >> Okay. She said that she she had one and she said it was cuz she used to help you take care of certain like bills or something like that. >> She she worked in my office, but I had to stop that because she was writing checks and stuff. >> But you never part of that process of working for you. She was never supposed to have your ID. >> No. >> Okay. All right. I have a feeling she's going to be coming with us in a little bit. We're at the front. Is >> my granddaughter there? >> There's no other people here in the room. She was in room 102 and there's no one else in there right now. >> Okay. >> I have no idea where my 14-year-old granddaughter is. >> Okay. Let me ask her about that first all of this. You know, I have to look that way. She thinks I want her because I don't want her. my daughter to be irresponsible when I >> of course. Yeah. >> All right, let me talk to her really quick. I'll I'll have some more news for you in a little bit. >> The officer now returned to ask the woman about the whereabouts of her daughter. >> Was there supposed to be somebody else staying in the room with you? >> My daughter. >> Is she okay now or is she at now? >> Um my brother-in-law passed away on Friday. >> Sorry. >> Um she's at my sister-in-law's house. >> Okay. Um the choice app that you said you all shared. >> Mhm. >> Okay. Your mom said she's never been part of a choice app or never used a choice app. >> She is. She used the window and the choice and the Hilton. >> Okay. She said that she's had to cancel her card because her card kept ending up on those accounts and the card that's on there now um she just replaced as recent as a month and a half ago, which means in the last month and a half her card would have had to have been manually entered back in there to be used, which she did not do. I mean, I don't know what to tell you. I just booked it on there and I was trying to get it paid. Like, I wasn't trying to have them do it. They >> It's just It's >> It would have made sense if she did. You both had shared access with the app. >> She says she's never needed that app, never used that app, and her card would have never been put on there with her permission because she doesn't use it. >> So, we're at a point where I get what you're saying. It was on the app, but it's not an app she's a part of in any way, except for the fact that her credit card ended up on there. For real, between you and I, are you going to be on the target footage using the card? >> No, I We were just talking about that before you walked in. I'm like, >> it's going to be clear. >> I understand that. I know that. I know how Target works. I mean, they've got like a screen in front of you when you're doing it. You know what I mean? I'm trying to be as forthcoming as possible with you guys. Like, I paid for every single night that I've been here. >> The info I'm checking out. She also said that you weren't supposed to have her ID and that there was no reason in the past for you to have it. >> That is a lie. >> What was it? What was the reason again that you had it? >> Because I have done everything for her. >> What does that mean? I don't understand. >> I paid all of her bills. I've been her basic personal assistant up until last year. >> Yeah. She said that it was when you worked at sports medicine. Yes. She said that she had to let you go because you were writing checks from the companies and checks. >> Yes, I did write checks. >> All right. We have a pattern here. You know what I'm saying? This is >> an ongoing pattern of you using other people's stuff without their permission. [music] >> And I don't see why you would if you guys work together in sports medicine. I just don't see why you would need her ID in your possession. Nonetheless, 2 years later. >> I I just I mean I kind of keep every single card. >> After finishing talking with the woman, the officers then proceeded to put her in handcuffs. >> Do you still want to go with trespass? >> Yes. >> All right. I haven't done the paperwork yet. They are going to have you trespass here. Uh I just got to file the paperwork. It's not a criminal charge. It's a It's a warning saying you can't come back here. Um, all right. There's a lot of things pointing against you that just don't make sense. >> So, I've got to a make a phone call. He's got to fill out paperwork. >> For now, I am going to put you in cuffs. It doesn't mean you're going to jail. I want to make a phone call. My supervisor talked to him about this, but for now, I need to set these things down real quick. Okay. >> Do you have anything sharp on you? It's going to poke me or stick me. Really quickly, I just got to fill this pocket in front of you. You got nothing in here? No. >> Okay. All right. You can go ahead and sit down. I'll get the AC blast in here. If you want the window cracked, just let me know. My supervisor and you are going to be going today, okay? I'm going to be straightforward about that. That's that's what we got to do. >> The woman was charged with unlawful use of a credit card and possession of another person's ID. Fraud cases aren't won or lost on attitude. They're decided by documentation and verification. Once the paper trail and possession line up, accountability is unavoidable. As officers wrapped up their report on the case, another situation was taking shape. This time involving an employee who thought helping someone by scamming the store was just part of customer service. >> Whole time I take care of two kids and you got cops out here out of my house. What are you thinking? >> Felony. So, I mean, it's over $10,000 in in product or whatever. So, >> $10,000 in product. >> So, >> are you kidding? >> On September 12th, 2022, a Sarasota officer responded to a theft call at Dollar General. Seemed like a petty shoplifting case until it unraveled into a full-blown side quest. >> Hello. >> Hi, I'm Jim. >> I'm Andrew. >> I'm the loss prevention manager. So, we This is a high shrink store for us. We just had we just had an inventory. >> So I have I'm required to come in here about every 60 90 days do an audit. I've been out the last 6 weeks that had hip replacement. So I was just here last week and we found a situation >> employee >> money associates. Okay. >> She's been doing um transaction voids allowing people to go through the selfch checkout and then allowing them to leave with merchandise after she voids it out. >> Okay. >> Okay. Um, >> is she is she getting any anything? >> She says she's not. She says she's it's just a friend that she's trying to help out that she feels that he's taking advantage of her own. >> So, there's some miles and bones. >> Yeah. She has a couple ch children. She is married. She has admitted to $10,000 >> over what time? >> The last nine months since she's been here. Now, okay, that's all I have for since June that I can prove. Okay, what I don't have is because I just this just got dropped on me a couple hours ago. I don't have all the video that corresponds to these dollar amounts, but we can get that and burn that. So, you have all the video that corresponds with these dates and times. >> Yeah. >> So, all these transactions, everything is highlighted. This is for you. >> That's for Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. time 2232 >> for $424.93. >> Okay. >> So just in the course of these four days about 1,000 bucks. >> So you've gone through and highlighted the ones that are involving her. >> Yeah. The store manager has validated. He's verified them on video. She's been very cooperative. >> All right. How did she get caught? [clears throat] >> So yeah, last week when I was here, I was explaining the important cuz he's only been here about four weeks. So he started going back and started looking at him and he couldn't believe what we found after he got done talking to us. So he started going back and digging for the last since he got here. >> The manager who verified on video is he working. >> Turns out the woman wasn't just working the register. Not for money, not out of fear, but because she just felt bad for him. >> So these highlighted ones you verified >> majority of them. Uh cuz I I did them yesterday. I went through all of them. Okay. It's just today I had to remake it so because I didn't want them to see it and so I highlighted I'll need to go through it again double check. >> Okay. >> But most of them they should be right because they're all the same time frame, you know, cuz it's always at 2200. >> Y what are you seeing on the video? Are you seeing the same individual? >> Same individual. Yeah. Guy will come in at night and go through the selfch checkout. She'll be in tandem with them. Void out the transaction. Take the cart, walk out with it. >> Okay. Can I get you to write a statement? Um, I'll grab one of our statement forms. I'm just indicating that once this was, you were made aware of this. You reviewed video, you verified by reviewing the video. This is a current, so I know there could be more down the line here. >> I'm going to grab a statement for him. >> Sounds good. >> Fact that someone else is involved, I don't know. That's going to be something where our our detectives want to >> investigate a little bit. >> Investigate more before So, >> yeah. >> You guys cool with that? >> Yeah. Yeah. Yes. This is not a quick uh >> Yeah, however you want to handle it. I >> I know you're already deep into it, so you know. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, I'll be right back and we go to my >> Jessica. So, >> yes. >> You know why I'm here? >> Yep. >> I'm just going to tell you right off the bat. Um I don't know how this will play out. >> Okay. As far as is this going to be a larger investigation that our detectives will handle, or this is something that I'm going to be arresting you, taking you to jail tonight? >> I prefer not the latter, but >> hate to break it to you, but you don't really get to say here. Now, let's rewind and figure out why she did what she did. >> Okay. So, having that in mind, >> okay, >> your cooperation is is important, obviously, and it seems like you've been cooperative so far. >> Yes, sir. You're not under arrest at this time. >> I'd like to not be under arrest if possible. >> And I saw you wrote a statement that was on your own. >> Yes. Okay. >> I was not forced to. It's completely of my own free will. >> Okay. So, before I go any further in my investigation, >> even though you're not under arrest, I'm going to read you your rights. >> Okay. >> Okay. To represent you, having these rights in mind, do you wish to talk? >> Well, to revoke my cooperation now is only going to make it look bad. So like yes. >> Okay. How long have you worked here? >> The company or the store particularly? >> This store. >> Uh Jim was saying I think 9 months. >> Okay. And what is your position here? >> Assistant store manager. >> At any time have you stolen anything from the store or acted in a way to allow someone else to receive goods services from this store? >> Obviously the latter is why you're here. >> Okay. So, can you explain to me? >> Unfortunately, to my [clears throat] bleeding heart generosity for this person that's claiming to have been my friend, and I'm like an adopted sister, I regretfully aborted transactions on a selfch checkout for him and let him have it. >> Do you know how many times this occurred? >> I No, sir. I don't have >> How about Do you know when it started? I think the furthest back Jim told me he had was in August. >> So, you think this started in August? >> Yes, sir. I believe he's correct. They had paperwork. I just have a memory. >> About how many times a week? >> At least two times a week, maybe. >> Okay. How was this arrangement set in place? Did you know they were coming to the store? >> He was here on this type of day I worked. One of the guys wanting to help me help me work around the store. >> Jessica definitely took going out of your way to help others a little too literally. She claimed it was just her way of helping someone in need. No money, no favors, not even a thank you card. She might have had good intentions, but stealing thousands of dollars in merchandise isn't exactly the best way to show compassion. >> When would you know to abort the transaction? Did he ask you? Did he talk to you? Did he >> send you a message? >> He would ask me. >> Okay. What would he say to you? >> Hey, can you help me out with this? And I should have just said no. >> Did you ever get anything in return from him? >> No. >> Did you ever abort a transaction that you kept for yourself? >> No, sir. >> Okay. So, in the course of this, you never receive anything in exchange for what you were doing. >> Do you want to identify this individual? >> Do I have to identify him? I mean, you have his face flashed all over the camera [clears throat] right there. This is part of the cooperate cooperating with us. And look, the course of where this goes >> is going to depend on the information you're providing. >> Yes, sir. >> Because this isn't as simple as you're taking something out of the store. Even though you didn't retain anything, >> I still assisted in it. >> And there's there's two people involved here. Okay. >> Yes, sir. Whatever I can do to help you >> is only I'm not saying you're not going to be in trouble. >> No, I know I'm going to be in trouble. Just to save me from having to be arrested is what I would like to look like right now. I don't want to walk out here in cuffs. I don't want you guys to have to escort me. >> I can't I can't guarantee that either. But, >> you know, the more information I have, we we can be in to, you know, help you out in that way. But >> same as Jean. Can you describe him? >> 6 foot something, 200 plusb white male balding. >> Somehow she wasn't arrested right away. The officer let her go pending an investigation. But that luck ran out fast when the guy she was helping strolled right back into the store a few days later. >> Jean, are you Jean? >> Can you come over and start talking to him? >> I guess I'm getting arrested because the I don't even know what I did at Dollar General. >> Okay. Do you have any ID on you? >> Yes. Okay. >> I said Chris, I'm getting arrested. No one said that. >> Are you talking to me or talking to the person on the phone? >> I'm talking to the person on the phone. I'm talking to my mother. >> Okay. Do you mind talking to me first? >> I'll call you back. Okay. >> I was here earlier. >> Yes. >> You are suspected in several thefts. >> How was I expecting a theft? I don't remember. I'm not aware of stealing anything cuz everything I know I get I paid for. >> Okay. Like I just bought three loaves of bread >> tonight. >> Tonight I have the receipt in the bag. >> Okay. I'm not accusing you of anything right now. >> Okay. >> But previously >> I don't recall doing anything. >> Okay. Do you know any of the workers here? >> I know Jeff. Actually, I know basically everybody that worked here. >> Here's here's the here's the deal. I'm not arresting you. >> Okay. >> You are suspected in several thefts. >> Okay. >> It is being investigated. >> Okay. They do want to pursue charges. >> Okay. I'm trespassing and coming in this door. >> They don't want you here for a year. >> Okay. Can I >> So on on their behalf, I'm issuing you a trespass right now. >> Okay. Can I at least go in there and get my bread that I >> Yeah, I'll let you take your bread that you paid for. All right. So here's the other thing. A detective is probably going to want to talk is going to want to talk to you. >> Okay. >> So you told me you haven't done anything. >> Not that I'm aware of cuz I know everything. I have food stamps and I work daily jobs and I get paid for my daily job. >> Okay. So if a detective wants to talk to you, how do they reach you? So you >> I can give you my phone. >> Honestly, my honest opinion, I don't like you guys. I hate you guys. >> A lot of people do. >> So just keep in mind, >> don't come on the property. Don't >> No, no, no. We already talked about that. Okay. So when a detective comes to talk to you, it would benefit you ultimately to talk to them. >> Okay. I know you don't want to talk to me right now. You don't like the police. >> I won't do that. >> Okay. Do you have any questions for me? >> No, I do not. Officer >> Okay. >> Have a good day. >> You're free to go. All right. >> Thanks, man. Take care of yourself. >> Once officers spoke to the second suspect, the final piece clicked. So, they did what any good detectives would do. They paid Jessica a return visit. >> Is it Is it because of my former job? >> It's a It's scheme to defraud warrant. >> So, you have a warrant. Okay. >> Wait, what? >> She has two kids in the back. >> Okay. Wait, what? What's going on? >> Like I said, we can do this over here as long as she cooperates. >> Okay. What? >> All right. >> I'll I'll explain it to you in a second. Okay. >> So, just give me a second if you want to do this over here. That's your mom. >> Okay. I understand. We'll do this over here. Okay. >> And I'll explain it to you here in a second. >> Hold on. >> All right. >> Hang on. That won't work. >> Are you kidding me? >> So, you know what this is about then? >> Yes. >> I told you to be honest with me. I didn't know what to tell you about being mad at me. >> Should I help somebody and die? >> What are you doing? >> Here's the thing. I don't know what the case entails, but it's a scheme to defraud. That's all I know. All I know is what the charge is. I don't know what the case entails >> or the specifics like that. She can probably tell you more than I can. So, >> you was told you wasn't going to Okay. What What the is this secret bull you got running, bro? with two kids here. I'm running a company and you're what what in God's name is happening right now? >> You guys are going to have to get it worked out at some point. What What is the What are we going to do with the children? Are you Are you guys together? >> Yeah. Yes, man. For nine years, bro. What the stupid >> Hey, are these both of your guys' kids? >> Yes. >> Yes. >> Okay. All right. So, they're biological kids. >> Biological man. I know. So, where where are you guys going to take her? >> To the SSO jail, Sarasota County Sheriff's Office. >> Wait, what? >> Yeah. Why you think you in handcuffs to not >> I was told that I was not going to be arrested if I was cooperative and I have been an active warrant. So, apparently at some point you might have not been a cooperative. >> I didn't know I had an active. >> She worked as a manager of the store though. So, I don't I don't know any of this weird shady that's happening right here. Look, military family, law enforcement family, what >> I wanted. >> I wanted to handle those before it really >> handle it. How? By not by not >> I wanted to get it taken care of so you didn't have to get involved. >> What? What the did I these dudes out here is ain't bro? >> Let me I got to I got to confirm the warranty. So, like I said, >> please give me a second if you want to hang out with the kids. I'll give you a chance to talk to her before we leave. Okay. Um, is it is it nothing that you can do? >> There's an act of warrant signed by a judge. That's there's nothing I can do. I can take her to jail and then maybe they can release her depending on what the bond is. I don't know what that bond is. >> What am I So, what am I going to tell my what what am I going to tell my family now? What am I going to say? >> I'm a What the are you doing? Let me go get the kids inside, bro. Cuz I don't >> I'm going to keep I'm going to be here for a minute. So, I I'll I'll absolutely give you a chance to talk to her. Okay. >> So, just do what you got to do with the kids. I'll be out here. >> I'm just kidding. I'm stand up here real quick. >> No, I want to go. >> Yes, you are. I don't care. After we're done with this, you're going to your mom. I'm running a business. I'm running a business. I work full time. I take care of two kids and you got cops out here out of my house. I bought you that vehicle. I have mine and that one in the yard. >> What are you thinking? Dude, let me tell you, >> please. Go ahead. >> Told me the one that's investigating said that he wasn't going to arrest me. >> All right. So, there was an active warrant in the system. >> I gave nothing from it. I was just trying to help somebody out in the back. >> That's probably the overall scheme. Then, I don't know. Like I said, I don't know the specifics about the case. I never read the PCA, but that's what the arrest warrants. >> I I could have had this fixed if you said something. >> I didn't know. I don't even know what I'm sure she's got a lot of explaining to do, but that's between you guys. >> Anything though, I'm I'm done with that. >> So, but they did they get the detective told her that he wouldn't write a warrant as long as she cooperated. >> Yeah, she was probably afraid to tell me anything. >> It is a felony. So, I mean, it's only $10,000 in in product or whatever. So, >> $10,000 in product. >> So, >> are you kidding? >> Over $10,000 total. I don't know if that's product and cash or whatever how that's split up, but it's over $10,000 total. >> So, you want the number to the jail? >> Yeah, >> you can just Google that. But, >> okay. >> I don't know what her bond's going to be yet, but once, like I said, once she gets processed in, she can make a phone call. I mean, I can look it up right now and see if there is a bond on there, that'll help. >> So, let me let me see if I can find it. >> Okay, so the bond the bond's only $1,500. So, it's $150 to bond her out. that. Can Can I bond her out now? Okay. >> As soon as she gets processed, you can you can call the jail and let let them know. Give give them their her information. They'll let you know how to how to handle that. >> Three vehicles, a house, two kids. I work all the time. >> I wish I could explain it to you better, but that's that's all I got for you. >> God couldn't even explain to us, bro. It's all good. Y'all take care, man. >> She's like, I don't know. >> It's all good. >> Hey, best of luck to you. I'm sorry the kids had to be out there. I tried to do it away from them. I I have no feelings, but thanks for being professional, man. My name is James, bro. What's your name? >> Brian. >> Brian. All right. Thank you. All right. I'll be down there in an hour. >> Okay. >> In the end, she was charged with scheme to defraud. Her bond was set at $150, which ironically is a lot less than what the stolen goods were worth. Over Grand and Dollar General inventory. Compassion without boundaries can become criminal liability. Helping someone doesn't give permission to break the law. And once a scheme is established, good intentions won't save you from the consequences. Just when the officers thought they'd seen it all, along came a girl who got caught while gambling with a stolen credit card. Don't lie to me. >> Don't run. Do not run. >> I just found out I was pregnant. I want to tell him, "Please, I didn't know it was stolen. I didn't know none of none of that. If I knew I did something wrong, I probably would." I didn't know. >> Oh my gosh. You're on for fraud. Yes, I do have a history of fraud, but I didn't use >> On June 4th, 2024, officers responded to a business regarding a couple committing credit card fraud while gambling. Here's what happened next. >> That's all right. You got your ID with you? >> Yeah. Can I ask Mark what's going on? >> Well, we have a problem with a credit card inside, I guess. Huh? >> I use no credit card, bro. >> Okay. >> Oh, really? >> All right. Just ID would be great, man. >> Did you try to use a credit card to pay for some soda or something? Sir, I have not used anything. We were just playing the slot machine. That's it. >> What's your name, dear? >> Fellow, >> tell me something about your your current driving record. >> I don't drive. >> You must have had a citation sometime in your life. >> I've never been pulled over or anything like that. >> Never. >> You never got a ticket for nothing? >> No, I've just been >> You ever been arrested by anything? >> No, I have not. >> How do I know this is you? >> It should come up under my name. And uh >> Well, anybody can give me a name. >> This is my boyfriend. He knows that I'm Bella. Well, I understand that, but I'm trying to confirm who who everyone is. You understand? >> I understand that, sir. >> So, sometimes people have a contact with police. >> Do you have a C type Charger? Um, I can get this turned on. >> So, do you know why we're here right now? >> You said something about a credit card. >> Okay. What were you guys doing inside? >> I was playing the slots. >> And how were you playing the slots? What were you doing? >> How were you playing on the slots? Did you use cash? Did you use a card? >> Okay. And how did you get the cash? Did you already have the cash on you? Did you use it from them? >> No, I already had it on. So, why would we get a call about you guys using a credit card? >> I have no idea. I don't even use credit cards myself other than my cash app card. That's it. >> You have a Cash App card? So, you don't have any on you, you're saying? >> No, I don't. >> Where do you guys stand? >> We actually just >> Did you give your ID to those guys? >> No, I'm there with my friend. He uh somewhere around here. That's where we were just headed. Tuki. They call him Tuki. >> Tuki. >> Chuki. >> How does a guy get a name to Chuki? >> I don't know. His name is Jackson. I guess it's really distracting. This is what ID says, but I call this trick. >> Who do you work? >> I work at Red. >> Given how anxious the woman was, the officer suspected that she had given the officer the wrong information. >> Oh, nice. >> It was a description of you and her that were using said card. So, >> no, I didn't use no credit cards. She don't have no cards on her. She didn't even have a purse on. >> Was she using a card or what? So, you guys were using the slot machine. You said I was playing the slots y with her. >> Yep. >> And uh >> win anything today or did they take you? I went a little bit. >> Went a little bit. >> This will be even easier. Let's just use your finger pick real quick. Just your index finger. >> You ever dealt with officers before? >> Yeah. >> What' you do with us for last? >> Guys, you guys stop this one for Stop this on the east side. >> Can you guys able to just both take a seat on the curb for me just while we're talking here? You don't need to be anxious. I just don't want you to take off running. That'd be a foolish thing to do. So, >> I don't know. I don't know. >> People do weird things, right? Told you that before. So, >> I have to do something. >> Okay. Where do you have to be? >> Work. >> Where is work? >> Red Lobster. >> Red Lobster. What do you do at Red Lobster? >> Waitress. >> What time is your uh your shift for? >> It's not a shift. I have to go pick up some stuff. >> That doesn't make sense. You work at Red Lobster. >> Pick up my check. Since I don't have a mailing address, they just gave me a paper check and I haven't had a way to get over there till Jackson came along just now. So, he's my ride there. >> Who's Jackson? >> Our friend. >> Was Jackson just here with you guys? Did he leave already? After running her fingerprint through the system, with no surprise, the officer found out that she was lying. So, they immediately put her under arrest. Don't >> lie to me. Don't run. Do not run. >> Okay. Do not run. >> I'm not running. I'm not running. I'm not running. >> Anthony, I love you. >> Anthony, I love you. Please look at me, Anthony. >> Just relax. Hey, >> look at me. Anthony, I love you. >> Just relax. >> I told you stupid. Let go. >> Please. >> No. No. We're done that. We're done with that. Please, Anthony. I love you. >> Please stay seated, sir. Thank you. >> Why am I under arrest? >> You lied to me. >> And >> yeah, you can't lie to me. >> I have a warrant. >> You cannot lie to me. >> I have a warrant. Please tell me if I have a warrant. >> Oh, that's why you're in cuffs right now. >> Because I have a warrant. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> No, cuz you lied to me. >> Oh, there you go. You told me the wrong I would still would have gotten arrested with the war, right? >> Yeah. Well, you don't lie to me. Now you got another charge. >> Can you please just talk to him? At least talk to him. Please. I begging you. Please just talk to him. >> Relax. Hey, I'm closing the door. >> All right, just to be honest with you, I'm not in the mood to deal with someone lying to me. Did you use a credit card to try to pay for pay for a soda or not? Did you ever try to pass a credit card? >> Did she try to pass a credit card? >> I don't know. >> What do you mean you don't know? You were sitting there, right? >> I was playing slots. >> You was playing the machines? >> She wasn't. She didn't use my credit card. I gave her cash. >> Okay. So, why do you think we got called here? >> I have no idea. >> Okay. You do understand. If you're lying to me, I'm not going to be happy. >> Yeah, I know that. >> Okay. Credit card. I'm going to go find out. >> The officers now turn their attention to the casino staff to take their statement about the case. >> Where is the credit card or what's the story with the credit card? >> So, here is what happened. Um, so they tried to purchase a soda up at the bar. They were strictly came in with our vending machines. They tried to purchase a soda. Immediately after that, it declined it. Immediately after that, a woman called and said her wallet was stolen and that her car just tried being used here. >> Where's the card? >> We don't have it. >> Okay. So, you tried to run it? Yes. He is the one that they wanted to purchase the soda from. The woman tried to use both cards. >> She has two cards. >> Yeah. >> Did the male do anything? >> Well, he did a couple of things that were pretty odd. So, he won like 20 bucks out of the machine. He kept going into the women's bathroom to check on him and he was pacing back and forth, but he would just come up to the bar and ask for that $20. And then he like said something about my tattoos, but that was it. >> Okay. But he never used a credit. After finishing talking with the staff, the officer returned to inform the man and the woman about their situation. >> For now, I'm going to release you. Okay. I find you have more involvement into this. >> Well, there's more to this story that I don't have completely told yet. There is a credit card being used that is stolen. >> I didn't use it. >> That's not okay. >> Do you understand what I'm saying? >> Yes. >> Okay. It got stolen from somewhere. If you were there when it got stolen and you show up as part of being when the card got stolen, then you're going to be involved. Does that make sense? Okay. It appears you guys may have some issues being homeless. Got to try and figure those out. Fair enough. >> Yep. You can take your bag back. >> This your bag? >> Okay. Can I look in it for those cards? >> Who's this? >> That's mine. >> That's not your name. >> That's my girlfriend. She's in jail. I use it. >> Anna Louis Skinador is in jail right now. That's my baby. >> Okay, hold on one second. He's figuring a couple things out. >> It's not your name. And you have a credit card that doesn't belong to you. It's cash at birth. >> You're you're a suspect in all this stuff. So, I mean, I think you can put two and two together of what we're doing here, right? >> She's yelling at me. >> Whatever. That's She's going to yell. She can yell all she wants. >> Is this the car? >> No, they're both purple and pink. >> Purple and pink. >> Yeah, that's not it. I >> I mean, I can't confirm that that's your girlfriend. Obviously, you know that, right? >> I don't want to get you into trouble. I just don't want the person that has a stolen credit card to keep having trouble. I'm not sure if this is a friend of yours or new girlfriend of yours or who she is to you. >> My girlfriend's in the back. >> Ah, thanks. >> Yep. >> I get it. But you understand what you're hanging around with, right? >> Let me ask you a personal question. >> If I may. >> That's hers. No, that's hers. That's not my >> If if I may ask you guys into >> I don't use No. And remember, I'm not new to this game. I see all the marks on her face and I see a few marks on your face. There's anything I can do to encourage you to get off of it or help you try and figure out how you can clear that stuff up? >> You got her cell phone, right? >> Yeah. I back money as >> I get that, but I I get that. But I'm not blind. I see what's going on. I know what goes on in the world of and sometimes your world. So, my goal here is to try and encourage you to get off it to get yourself back on. Playing at the casino or playing gambler machines is not going to make your life any better. It's only going to make it worse. Fair enough. >> After giving a heartfelt advice to the man, the officer returned to the squad car to transport the woman to jail. >> It'll help my anxiety, everything, please. I'm begging you. Can I just hear his voice one more time? I don't know how long I'm going to be going away. Please, I'm just begging you. Please. Just Just one time, please. >> You already talked to him. I >> I didn't talk to him. We wasn't talking. Please. >> You guys talked. You were talking. >> Please, sir. Please. >> No. >> Why? What did I do, Mom? I just need to tell him something. >> No. >> I was supposed to tell him at the end of today. Please. I just found out I was pregnant. I want to tell him. Please. That's all I want to tell him. Please, sir. Please. We've been wanting a baby for so long >> now. You could wait longer. >> NO. ANTHONY, CAN I GET BUILD OUT TODAY? Uh potentially. We have other charges with you, too, though. >> What? >> You used the credit card, fraud only. >> I didn't use the credit card. Okay. >> He handed it to me and told me to go try to pay and that's all I did. I didn't do I didn't know it was wrong. I threw them away because they were gone. They just didn't work. He said to throw them out, so I threw them out. I was in the bathroom forever because I have a picking problem. I just threw them in the container. I didn't try to use them, though. Like, he's the one who found the thing. He gave them to me. He got them at the courthouse today. He told me that they were his friends. >> ANTHONY, I >> In the end, the woman was charged with unauthorized use of personal identifying information, resisting arrest, credit card theft by acquisition, and theft of movable property. [music] In fraud investigations, evidence moves faster than excuses. The moment a lie is exposed, options vanish, and consequences escalate. Moving on to the next case, where an entitled woman chose jail over a ticket. Basically, she was doing like three different types of scams. All with >> If you could guess how much you gave away to him alone, how much would you say? >> 40,000. >> $40,000. >> On the 20th of December 2023, officers responded to Wind Dixie regarding an ongoing course of defrauding the business. Here's what happened next. when the police arrived. >> Associate that's working at the service counter. Um, every day she works, she's giving a customer hundreds of dollars of lottery. >> So, like just taking the lottery tickets, bagging it, putting it and giving it to the customer and not taking payment. Um, she would also give them grocery products and then um also just sometimes he would buy tickets and she would cash it out without taking all the money. So, basically she was doing like three different types of scams all with the same customer. I pause there because I know you're catching up. I'm sorry. >> So, she would get she would give him lottery tickets, sometimes grocery items, and then cash. >> Yeah. So, like like if it said it was like $40, he'd give her 20. If she would just say he gave her 40. So, that's a cash shortage for the register. >> So, like if she scans the tickets, then it's then it'll be a cash shortage. But if she just gives him the ticket, it's a bottle shortage. So, it's kind of >> Okay. >> Yeah. So, it gets a little bit crazy. >> Do you have like video of this? >> I have video. I have receipts. >> She wrote this. >> Let's go look at that. Yeah, let's go. >> It's all back there where she's at right now, too. So, >> okay. >> I can pull It's on my laptop, so I can pull it out if you don't want to watch it with her. >> Yeah, we'll we'll we'll go ahead and watch it without her. >> Okay. >> Um >> and then that way we have we have all that. Let me get your name. >> Lotto loss. So, right now, our total loss that we have uh on video confirmed is 6832. >> Okay. And what we're looking for though that she knows and we know based off of our reporting that it can only be from motto total including that is 23 252. >> So she admits to this 20 23 whatever. >> So we did so even today before I got here cuz I was paying Santa Claus off the other store. He came in and I said what would you give him today? Four packs of cigarettes $250 $230 $20 $10. So I said even just today you gave him 700 bucks. Right. So and that kind of goes in line with all the toes that we have. So I say, "So if you So she works 5 days a week." >> Yeah. >> I said, "He comes in every day?" Yep. Every day. Sometimes twice a day. So I say, "So you're you're really like $40,000." But that's not I'm not going to chase her for anything that I can't prove. This is what I know I will be able to prove if needed. And that's what I have. >> So far, this case has already sounded so ridiculous. Let's see what's more the security footage can provide to this ridiculousness. >> So, you know, we got like I I made it to where like there's no way she's not going to tell me anything, right? So, so, and even on some of these where she brings up the $2, she brings up all the cheap ones. If she accidentally brings up a big one, she'll void it off. So, like right this one, 100% she gave him $50. Now, with our camera systems on the back of the big bills, it says 50, 20, 30. So, I can tell the value of the bills cuz it says right on the back of them, or not the bills, but the tickets. So, um you know, like this one, she's voiding, you know, voiding the cigarettes, rings up a whole bunch of cigarettes and voids it off. This one, actually, this whole transaction, it doesn't show it on here, but she actually just voided that whole transaction. just all the sweet potatoes, all this other stuff. >> He would >> and then he'd give her cash, but she like it's not there's no money. So on some of them, >> you know what I mean? So So she's doing cash, she's doing lotto and she's doing product. She's doing she's she's like trying to win the Olympics. >> So like this one, he she rings up $10. She rings up a 20 and a 50 cuz somebody walks by, but then she voids off those. So he paid $10, but he probably got $500 worth of tickets. So, >> so if there's another employee back there, he'll wait for her. >> Oh, if there's customers, he'll wait. Like, see how he So, so if I zoom out right now, you can see her pulling tickets, like just pulling all these tickets while he's talking to the customer, kind of blocking so nobody can see. And then the other manager is over here. You were saying, uh, you know her. So, see how he's like talking to her to keep her distracted. And then when she goes over here to the register, you'll see that's when he calls her and gives her, you know, hey, come here. Come here. And it gives her like 20 bucks or whatever. See how he just slid that there? I slid 20 bucks across to her. Look, this guy, she he just gives this guy five bucks, too. Oh, here's cigarettes now. Get the whole stack. She rang up one cigarette. He just keeps pulling out money and just keeps giving her money. It's like that's why they love him. That's why they know she's 19, 20 years old. 100 bucks. >> She literally gave away $40,000 to a stranger in exchange for some tips here and there talking about being stupid. Now, let's see what she has to say for herself. >> A lot of money. That's my number one question. What is going on that we got called here? >> Giving away free product. >> You're giving away free product. Who are you giving away the free product to? >> Pretty sure his name is I He has an accent so I don't know if it's Kee or Keith, but it's a customer. >> How did you meet Keith or Kiche? >> Oh, he was one of my regulars. >> What's up? >> He was one of my regulars. >> Why do you give product away to him? I >> actually don't know. He he gives us tips. So, I think I kind of persuaded to just keep doing it. And >> how much does he normally give in like tips that >> a lot? Like he'll like one one time he gave me like $300 in a weekend >> like in one day or just like >> the way like in like 3 days. >> Did he ever tell you like, "Hey, I'm giving you this like can I get >> stuff to like >> try like trade type thing?" What all do you give him? So you give him product. What What all do you give him? >> Scratch offs. >> What type of scratch offs? >> Like a lot of just the regular scratch off tickets, like the bigger ones, [snorts] $50 tickets and stuff. And he'll come and get beer and whatever like stuff he needs, >> like grocery items. >> Yeah. Did he ever question like, "Hey, this I I I purchased three $50 scratchoff tickets and I gave you $20. Why is it so cheap or >> like did he ever question me for?" No. >> Okay. So, he just once you give him the stuff, he just leaves after. Does he give you the tip before or after you uh you ring him out or both? >> Yeah. Like today he did come in and I told him that too. Same thing. He gave me $40 today. But usually like he'll come in, leave for like 3 4 hours, come back and leave and come back like throughout the whole day. >> So when he leaves and comes back, is he always purchasing like lottery tickets or beer? >> Any other items like >> purchase cigarettes? >> Yeah, cigarettes, too. >> Have you ever met him outside of work? >> No. >> When did all this start? >> I think like September, October. Do you know of any other employees that are doing this? >> No. >> Does he always come see you at customer service or does he get rung up by anybody else in the store? >> Well, it's easy to be generous when it's not your money. >> How many scratch off tickets did you give him? >> It was a not like a lot a lot, but it was a lot for >> like if you had to if you had to if you had to estimate how many you gave him, >> how many would you estimate that to be? More than one, more than five? More than 10. >> More than 10. >> More than 10. >> Yeah. >> Of the $50 ones. >> Not just like it's like a mixture like 250s, 210, 220. >> How are you deciding which you're just randomly grabbing or >> asking for specific ones? >> No, just random. >> Is he [music] just h how does how do you determine that he wants scratch? Is he saying, "Hey, give me some scratch offs." He just he just asked for scrap >> and he never questioned like, "Hey, I just gave you $40 and you gave me at least $200 worth of scratch offs and I just gave you $40 and some beer." >> Okay. So, you said this happened since September October area. >> Yeah. >> So, we're looking at 2 months, give or take a couple more days. >> Yeah. maybe three months. How much have you, if you could guess how much you gave away to him alone, how much would you say >> within the months? >> Sure. >> 40,000. >> $40,000. >> I think that's what we came to. >> Is he the only one that you give this stuff to? >> Yeah. If you had to estimate how much has he given you monetarily with these tips? >> Probably a little over a thousand. >> Yeah. >> Have you exchanged phone numbers, addresses? >> Have my phone number. >> Okay. Do you have his phone number? >> I think I do cuz I got it though like when he was starting to be my regular. A couple of a couple of plays have it so I thought it was okay. [snorts] >> Has he ever called you on it? >> Yeah. What did he >> I don't answer. [laughter] Oh, >> I don't answer people. >> When he calls you or when he has called you, has it been in the daytime, evening hour? >> Probably evening. >> Does he leave you any messages? >> Yeah, he'll leave me voicemails. >> What do they What What do they say? >> Negro. What's up? I hope you're enjoying yourself. Give me a call later on. Text me. I'll talk to you later. Right. All right. kind of weird. >> Does he text you at all? >> I think he has before, but I went through my phone and deleted his phone. But [snorts] >> did you just do that? >> No, I had to do a phone sweep cuz my storage was too full. >> In the end, she was charged with secondderee felony grand theft. She was hit with 3 years of probation and was ordered to pay $23,252 in restitution to Wind Dixie. It's not generosity when it's not your money. You can't donate what isn't yours. When sympathy overrides judgment, the law steps in to correct the damage with interest. Let's move on to the next case where a scammer got caught in a midfake check scam. >> Did not. >> Did you authorize a check, personal check number 9875 in the amount of 2015? >> No, I did. You do realize your story makes absolutely no sense. >> Okay, that's what you're saying. >> That's a terrible lie. >> On October 21st, 2025, officers in Miami responded to a Bank of America regarding a check fraud in progress. When the officers arrived on scene, the suspect was still in the lobby attempting to cash over $8,000 in fake checks. Here's what happened next. >> How she said that? >> I called her and she said this. Absolutely not. >> Yeah. But maybe because she was just at another center. >> Me? No. >> My name check. >> No, my name and there >> the same. >> It's a I just coming from Hong Kong to here. I don't do that. >> Yeah, this is not it's a frog check. Unfortunately, it's >> Wow. >> No, I got to call her. >> You have a seat over there for me, miss? >> Yeah, for sure. I got to call her. >> You have a seat over here for us. >> Yeah. >> Miss. >> Yeah. >> Can you come over here and have a seat for me? >> Thank you. >> Did you already speak with this account holder? Is this >> the the same check was presented for a copy of the computer for $6,300 over at the Canyon on Lions in Boon. >> Okay. Is this >> what they say in my name? >> I called the client. >> Watch me. Talk to me over here. They went to another another branch and tried this one that got us with them. They first tried this one. They were denied there. Then they came here and tried this one. It's a legitimate routing number, a legitimate account, and a legitimate account holder. But these checks um appear to be they printed up themselves. So I wouldn't doubt that. You know what he said? >> She's got a kid in the car. >> Oh, that complicates things. >> Um she said she's got her baby in the car. >> How old is the baby? >> I don't know. She just said before we came back here that she's like, "Hey, my kids in the car." >> Okay. Well, >> um just call her grandma or sister or something like that. >> What's going on, brother? >> How are you? >> I wasn't sure if that was you cuz you had your glasses on. Looks like it. >> What's going on, bro? >> Uh, did you deal with each other or no? >> No. >> Shouldn't be friends with him. >> I'm not. We just just got We're just >> That's just how it is. >> Say hi. >> Um, >> we used to work ballet together. >> Many moons ago. >> Yeah. Remember that >> I did ballet when I was young one time and I said >> after talking with the bank employee about the woman's previous scam in another bank and investigating her current fraudulent check the officers returned to the woman to >> Can you come speak with me real quick? >> Yeah. >> Just do me a favor, sir. Just wait out here. Dress in sport coat. Do you speak English, ma'am? >> Me? Yes. >> Okay. But if the thing >> Are you under the influence of any medications that would affect your ability to tell the truth or understand my questions? >> No. >> Do you have any mental condition or impairments that would affect your ability to answer my questions? >> No. >> You have the right to remain silent, not answer any questions. Any statement can and will be used against you in a court of law. Do you understand those rights as I've read them to you? >> I hear you. >> Do you want me to explain any of them to you? >> Say I mean you can explain that you want to. I I I can tell you guys go to take me to jail already, you know. >> Do you need me to explain those rights to you? >> So, do you want to explain? You can explain >> with with that bearing that in mind. Do you wish to talk to me >> about what >> about that check? >> About that check. I do the job to somebody who she gave me that that check. I I mean I do like I don't know how to say it in English. They check it. I'm coming today here trying to change it and I don't know what happened. >> What's the name of the person that gave that check to you? >> What? >> The name that's on that check is the person that gave that to you. >> Well, I don't know. She gave me the check. I don't really like that. >> Where did you get this check from? >> From that from that person. >> Where where were you located when you got that check >> in Miami? >> You got that check from someone in Miami? Yeah, I do the that that job I say to you. >> Okay. And that job was in Miami. >> Yeah. >> Why'd you drive up here to Palm Beach County to cash it? >> Well, because I'm working around here, too. >> And Yeah. >> Can you describe the person that gave you that check? >> She's more like it than me, you know, like look white, but I'm not white like that. >> Mhm. >> With how bologoney her story is, the officers then began to put her under arrest. They also put her male friend under arrest. >> You do realize your story makes absolutely no sense. That's >> okay. That's what you're saying. >> That's a terrible lie. >> Okay. >> I'm just trying to figure out whose idea it was to come. >> That's not my idea. >> Whose idea was it? >> I don't know. >> Was it Ed? >> I say what I say to you and I'm in it. So I don't know what you say right now. I'm sorry. I got my history and you got it already. You go to take me to jail. You can take me to jail. But I don't want to sit here and doing the same thing again and again and again. >> Okay. Let me see your purse. >> Yeah. >> Let me see your phone. >> Sit. Stand up. Stand up. >> Mhm. >> Do you have anything on you right now? >> What? >> Do you have anything on you? Any weapons? >> Any drugs? >> Don't grab me like that, please. >> I'm not grabbing you. Well, but you do it hard. Don't do it like that. >> Well, >> okay. >> I'm about to get searched harder than >> another. >> You don't wish to talk anymore. >> Yeah. Nice. >> What a great deal. >> These are my extra special ones. >> I will give them back to >> Make sure it's this one. That one. >> Absolutely. >> Yeah. All right, let's go. Uh, >> so I go get on body cam, I can go to the other Bank of America and go get a statement real quick from that branch manager. >> Perfect. >> All right. Thank you, Mike. >> Do you want to bring the boat? >> Uh, yeah. >> I don't know. Both of the suspects were charged with felony uttering forged instruments. Fake checks aren't a gamble. They're evidence waiting to be documented. And once a bank flags you, the arrest isn't a possibility anymore. It's a formality. Starting with this entitled woman who thinks trespassing is a joke. >> Put it behind your back. Stay in the row. Stay in the row. right now LIKE I HIT THE [ __ ] >> On October 14th, 2024 in Ohio, officers responded to a local mall after receiving reports that a woman was threatening employees of a phone repair kiosk at a mall. Here's what happened next when the officers approached the woman. >> What's going on is I came and got my phone fixed from her and literally the day of me leaving my phone broke again. I come back the next day, she fixed the screen again. Look at my phone. She fixed the screen again. Now the screen is like this. I didn't crack. I swear to God, it literally last night it popped up out of nowhere and just spread it. And now my phone just drained. So boom, I paid her $310. Wasn't a problem. Okay, cool. Came back today. I asked her like cuz she fixed it. So I went to Apple. Apple basically said it's the way she installed it, the screws and stuff. That's what caused the screen. So basically now she trying to tell me it's because of me but I had a because of me and you fixed it before and it literally broke the next day. So now he asked for at least her to fix it again. She talking I can give you a discount but this is my second time coming to you about the same phone that you fix and I just paid you $310 and you saying I can't get my money back and you can't even fix it cuz it's my car but my call Apple just said something you did. So yes, I told her we started laughing in my face. I don't find [ __ ] funny for $300 not a little money. >> So, and then he want to sit here and be doing all the moves. I'm not talking to you. Just know I don't give her I'm not going to lie. And I told her I would flip her whole thing. I don't care. $300. >> Yeah. >> And now I'm just out of a phone. It's a 15 Pro. The phone was $1,300. I don't see phone now. >> So, the woman showed up at a mall kiosk for a phone repair, broke it again, and then returned just to start trouble. Sounds about right. After speaking with the employees and the manager, they agreed to refund her and not press [music] charges, but she still had to be trespassed. >> So, I here's the thing. When it comes to something like this, it's a civil matter, right? There's really not anything in the wall that says, you know, you paid them to do a service, your friend's still broken, you know what I mean? So, if you want to take it out with your credit card company or whatever or take it, you know, do a civil matter to get your money back, that's the best I can tell you to do. I pay him. >> Okay. >> I'm just out of a phone. >> I mean, again, there there's you're paying him a service. If he's not, you get what I'm saying? Like, it's not it's not really a law standpoint at that point. It's you ask him to do a service and your phone's still not working. That becomes a civil matter. There's no >> Okay. So, I'm letting y'all know I'm going to be her up. I don't care. I don't give a I got to come back every day this week. I'm going to be her up. >> Okay. Will you be trespassing tomorrow? What's going to happen? That's fine. >> So, if you come back, I got to rescue trust. >> Understood. >> So, I'm not worried about anymore. >> Don't do it. >> No, because that's not fair. That's not That's not right at all. I don't care. So, now I just don't have a phone and I want to turn around and pay another $400. You can get another phone ID on you. >> What do you mean ID? >> Because this is now a trespass matter. I don't have ID. And you can't ban me. >> The security right there can. and he's going to >> Well, I don't have ID for you and I'm not selling my name. >> She refused to hand over her ID and refused to leave. And honestly, that combination was the absolute worst move she could have made. >> I can't get her information since she refused to give it to me. >> So, if she refuse to leave, then I'll have to >> get the shea. Yeah, I'm going go in the first turn. Uh-uh. Stop. You need to stop. >> Don't come touching me. Don't come touching me. >> Stop me. >> Damn. Put your hand behind your back. >> PUT HIM BEHIND YOUR BACK. Stand around. Stand up. >> I got hit with you. >> Walk around. >> Some Karen shoppers argue with cops while others fight them. But this one, she initiated a high tension, slowed walking flee from the police. I don't have Look, you cannot leave. You're under arrest at this point. You're not listening. >> You cannot leave. You are under arrest. [snorts] >> Look. Press the charger. Then I'm pregnant. I'm pressing charger. >> That's fine. You're You're at this point where you're refusing to cooperate, though. >> Okay. >> I don't care. >> Well, you need to care. >> You're not free to go anywhere. >> I don't care. >> Call CPD. >> Huh? >> CPD? I'm I'm Hamilton County. I don't need to call CPD. >> I don't care what you are. We can swim right here. >> We can walk around all day. >> We can We can walk around all day. I got nothing but time. >> All right. Well, >> resisting me. >> You're already under arrest for resistance. >> I didn't do [ __ ] So, I don't care. >> It's all on camera. >> I don't care. I'm not doing [ __ ] You just slam me. You slam me. I don't care. When you're trying to get away and you're not stop, then stop. >> I GOT A CAR, [ __ ] >> STOP. >> Need to stop. >> Look, just you you cooperate with us here. >> Y'all have no reason to arrest me. >> You refusing to leave the mall. I told explain this to you. >> THEN I STARTED WALKING AWAY >> and then you made a threat at him. >> I don't care. >> And then you threatened him. >> Y'all don't understand my frustration. I DON'T CARE. >> I UNDERSTAND YOU'RE FRUSTRATED. >> I DON'T HAVE NO PHONE. UNDERSTAND YOUR I do. I tried to understand with you and talk to you >> and she my face like I'm irritated. I don't care. >> I'M IRRITATED. LIKE, NO. >> AND THEN YOU WANT And then you want to cooperate with me and tell me your INFORMATION EVERY TIME. >> LIKE I'M IRRITATED. LIKE >> I KNOW YOU'RE IRRITATED FOR ME. >> I KNOW YOU'RE IRRITATED. >> I DON'T HAVE NO REASON to arrest. >> We're not You're entertained right now. OKAY. [screaming] >> All right. I tried to work with you. I TRIED >> OUT OF ME. >> AND you did not want to cooperate with us on this. And then you thread it. >> Going to help me. >> And then you THREAD IT THE OTHER [screaming] >> THE EMPLOYEE. >> I DON'T CARE. I DON'T CARE. [laughter] >> I I UNDERSTAND. >> She doesn't care. Yeah, that's the problem. Now she's going to face the consequence of her action. >> Get off of me. before they try to put charge in. I'm going to get you out. Stop talking here for right now. >> All right. >> No. >> Let me tighten this that way it doesn't tighten [clears throat] on your wrist. >> All right. >> Step in the vehicle. [snorts] >> No, y'all don't have no reason to arrest me. >> Step in the vehicle. >> No. When y'all can give me a valer, I will. >> I've already explained it to you. I I I have multiple times. >> Okay. >> What's his name? You right there. What's your name? >> Jeffy Rob. >> Yep. Okay. >> All right. I need to step over. >> No, I'm not. >> Oh, come on. >> Stand up. Come on. >> No. >> I don't care. >> I don't care. >> You got to stand up for us. Come on. Where's >> Pete? Where's your car? >> My car is all the way up front by the cheesecake. >> Come on. >> No. >> Stand up here. >> All right. Come on. We don't want to hurt you. Please stand up. issues. >> That's you going to have a nice >> In the end, she was charged with menacing and resisting arrest. If the police tell you to leave, you leave as fast as you can. Don't stick around and find out like that woman. Moving on to the next case where an unhinged woman pushed the cop's limit to the maximum. On October 28th, 2023 in Barabou, Wisconsin, officers responded to a local gas station regarding a female who was refusing to leave the store after being caught stealing a vape the previous day at the same location. What happened next was anything but routine. Here's what happened next. >> Hi, Herb. How you doing? I just came to get some [music] stuff. >> Honey, how are you doing today? Being a cop is such a hard job. >> Mhm. Mm-m. [clears throat] >> You get dressed to yourself, Amanda, and I'll >> Thank you. We'll chat. >> I appreciate your service. >> All right. I appreciate you saying that. >> You are strong. >> Mhm. And >> so is he. >> There we go. Right. >> Meet one of my husbands. >> Oh, that's one of your husbands. >> Yeah. >> Came up. I put two together. I told her I was coming and get her a bed. [music] >> I I'm guessing she's not going to have any money for that stuff. and she's getting no trespass [music] from here as well from yesterday's incident. So, if she doesn't have money, I would probably not waste that guy's time anymore. >> It's never a good sign when the police recognize you. And there's definitely something wrong with her. And you are about to find out why. >> And I have some located. I'm getting I'm cutting down because these ones they're too high of a dose and it makes you it's not a healthy dose, right? Wait for it. >> And I'm pregnant. I need to cut down on this. >> That's a good thing. >> So just trespassing. >> Given her erratic, disorderly behavior, the officers began issuing warnings. But will she listen to them? Let's see. to use marijuana >> more than anybody else. >> 41y old female very high heart rate down >> here. I'll buy you a >> What's up? That peach strawberry that I flavor you're coming here like, >> so that's why. But I told him I was after this she's not going to be allowed here. >> Can I get another? Oh, I need to cuz they run out too fast. >> Even after multiple warnings, she refused to listen and just kept screaming nonsense. Still, the officers gave her one final chance to comply and she didn't take it because when entitlement is behind the wheel, you usually crash straight into handcuffs. >> They call me [laughter] the only thing safe for pregnancy. Amanda, I'm >> okay. You need to calm down or I'm going to be honest. You're going to end up at the jail. [music] >> You're going to end up at the jail. >> Okay. Well, that's great. Then I'll have a day off, I guess. >> Good. I'll take care of you. >> I'll protect you. >> I don't know your name >> and I will never turn my back. >> Your vape, so >> I hope you have a great day and you continue to do your job, >> right? >> I need a bait.
