This drunk woman ran her friend over and made the whole situation 10 times worse. You guys are ruining my life. [ __ ] it. Refusion. Take her. Cops were called at the reports of a drunk driver spinning out of control and running over a woman, but her story quickly fell apart. Take a look. I need you over here, please. Listen. I need you over here, please. Thank you. There's so much to write on. Where's your driver license at? I don't have a driver license on me. She's the driver. I was driving. You just said you were driving. Had to I know. I know. I know. We were drinking. You just said you were driving. Listen, there's been a lot going on today with my friend's fiance that they they're supposed to have a wedding and they Huh? I live right around the corner. Like I'm not a bad person. I have no record. But you got to be you got to be honest with us. I am being honest. This is it. Please. Were you driving? No, sir. This is my grandma's car driving here because I was worried about her. Like I was crying. What do you mean? What happened? I came here and she was here. I was taking care of her [ __ ] kids. I was taking care of her kids. Did you hit somebody with a car? No, I was taking care of her kids. Can you talk to me? I was Let me call her back. I'll let you stay right here. Okay. No, I was taking care of our kids. Let me call you back. The cops are trying to talk to me. I love you. Later. She was circ. So, um Bri had walked over here and we were talking the one that's laying on the floor that got hit. Um she she got um she walked over here, whatever. We was talking for a little bit and then um Caitlyn and Raven had showed up and they uh was knocking on the door, whatever. Well, we came. They then after come in, they came in. Okay, hang on. Short version. Who hit who with the car? Okay, awkward pause there. So, let me kind of fill in the blanks for you. You definitely have a possible DUI investigation. Okay, we got that going on for sure. But you also have what we call an automobile versus pedestrian traffic accident or traffic collision investigation, right? Auto versus pad. Bri is laying down there and she's injured. She's witness number one for sure. So, I don't know. Uh right now, Caitlyn is not being completely truthful. She's not being honest. She's not being forthcoming and forthright. So, let's see what happens. Take her a little bit. Just take her. Come over here. Oh, dear God. Wh What's why is no one want to let us know who hit somebody with the car? Because they're our friends. So So why do you guys call 911? So cuz she has a big knot on the back of her head. I I'm not intoxicated at all. Okay. I'm here at my house. Who was driving and hit the car? Caitlyn. Who's Caitlyn? The one over there. One behind me. Yes. She was driving. Okay. Were you with her? No. [ __ ] no. Where were you at? I was in I was in my yard right here. Okay. What did you see? Um she gone out right here and then she went really fast cuz Bri started walking and Caitlyn wanted her in the car and she ran Bri over. She ran her over. I'm saying she ran her over. Yeah. Okay. So she came She came over here. I guess the one over here. Can you see the skin on her right here? She she the one on the floor wanted her she wanted her to come with her in the car. She didn't want to. She started walking. So she kind of like I guess what got upset. Yeah. Like she and she spun out and that's when she hit her with the car. Okay. She was driving. She was driving. I don't know if it was accident or I I'm not her. So at this point that doesn't matter. Um she was behind the wheel. She's been drinking and she hit somebody. So, at this point, we kind of have to do something about it. So, okay. Well, can you do me a favor? Can you just say that you see something on the car and you know that it was her or something? Don't tell her that I had told you. Yeah. Okay. You were driving this car. Excuse me. What? You were driving this car? This is my grandma's car. Were you driving this car? I'm asking you a question. I was driving that car. Yes, sir. Did you come here? Me? Yes. Did you hit her with this? What did you hit her with? Huh? What did you hit her with? I didn't hit her. All right. Now, now you're lying to an officer. My grandma. Look, my grandma. You're lying. Now, listen. I'm not lying. My grandma knocked this mirror. I'm asking you how did you hit her? I did. My grandma. I'm asking you how did you hit her? With what? My grandma did this. You're not listening to me. Okay. I need you to relax. Okay. I am relaxed, but you're yelling at me. I have anxiety. Please just go down. What did you hit her with? With what part of the vehicle did you hit her with? I didn't hit her. You did hit her. No, I didn't. Yeah, you did. Now you're lying. No, I'm not. Can you prove it? Yeah, absolutely. You didn't. Let me jump on that, too. We can definitely prove it. See? Okay. So, we have uh Bri, who's injured inside the house. There's witness number one. So, she's probably going to be party two as a pet on the traffic accident report. You got the uh witness number one who told you exactly what happened, right? And you got some of that evidence on the car and you're sitting here lying. And by the way, you're throwing grandmother under the bus. Come on. I've been in trouble. I I'm a good person. All right. You just calm down. Sit down right there. Okay. Just sit down. Just sit down. [laughter] Sit down right there. Do you have a driver's license? No. I mean, no, but I do have a driver's license. I don't understand what's going on. 435. I'm a good person. Look, I love my best friend. 10 4. She going to be the driver. It wasn't her. It was a car in front of a guy. Why wasn't you? You were following behind me and her car and then trying to give me my grandma's car. Does do you have any medical problems? I have anxiety that I have a medical marijuana card before. That's it. Okay, not a problem. So, what what what happened today, bro? We were literally just here and like I started watching because my friend was going to drive, but my truck was out of the road like and I didn't have my keys, so I was like, it's okay. Like, it's literally out of the road. Like, I'll just walk into my truck. And then somebody was coming around the corner sharp as [ __ ] And they literally ran me the [ __ ] out of her. Yeah, you're good. We're gathering. She She's been drinking, driving. Who? You and everybody else. I You need to calm down cuz I'm already upset. I'm I'm about to take you to jail. No, I am calm, miss. I am Don't Don't even talk to me right now. Don't even tell you. I live. Go back to the car. Go back to the car, please. I can get her, please. No, I love I got I got I got nothing to talk to you about. The only reason I I got nothing to talk to you about. The only reason I drove Did you hear what I just said? Listen. Did you hear what I just said? Can you please listen? No, I'm not going to listen to you. You're a liar. No, I'm not. Yes, you are. The only reason I drove Stop talking to me, please. you would be okay because their kids were in the [ __ ] car. You shouldn't be driving while you're drinking. I only drove here. You shouldn't be driving while you're drinking. I know that. But she was You shouldn't be driving while you're drinking. She was. And so I [ __ ] chose to drove. So I'm telling you right now I'm telling you right now, you should you should calm down. Oh, you're calm. No, you're not. You need to calm down. out trying to blame me for something that I'm trying to take responsibility of. Like she or her kid, she was drinking and I'm trying to [ __ ] be the bigger person to come over here and get her and get her and her kids. You should you should have never been driving to her house in Wilbur. You should have never been driving and my mom would have watched the kids and I asked them I asked So we're not here about the kids. will hear about you drinking and driving and and hitting somebody with a bar. Can you go to Can you go to my house? No. Yes, sir. I'm a good person. I'm not a bad person. This doesn't make you a bad person. And you know what, Caitlyn? It doesn't make you a bad person. I'm going to hop on that with the officer. What I will say is this. Look, your friendship and that empathy that you have for your friend's kids, I think that's great. That's fantastic. I think what you're doing is from the heart, right? Because you care about her friends and you want to look over the kids. That's all great and fine. However, you decided to get behind the wheel while you're intoxicated. We're about to find out if you're impaired or not impaired, but for whatever reason, it just doesn't seem to register. In other words, the conversation that the police officer, which by the way, he's maintaining his cool, calm, and collective as much as he can, but you're not comprehending what he's trying to tell you. So, but I'm saying you could This doesn't make you a bad person, bro. You lying. You lying about it makes you a bad person. I promise to God I'm not lying. Yeah. Okay. I can't make you believe me. You're a cop, so you're going to believe whatever you want to believe. No, I don't. I just don't believe liars. That's the truth. You're drunk. I don't I don't believe drunk. That's the truth. You can tell my mom. I told Bren to drive to my house to drop her kids off so she would not be driving drink with them. And me and Raymond wanted to look out for them. It's the [ __ ] truth. And if you don't believe it, then that's you. We're not here. It's the [ __ ] truth. We're We're not here about the kids. We're here because you hit somebody in a car. About the kids. Because the kids are the [ __ ] most important. We're here because you hit somebody with a car. Did I know how it is? You hit somebody with a car. I did not hit nobody car. No one did it. I live right down the road as grandma. I asked my grandma for her car so I could come and get her and her kids so I could get them home safe. And well, did you drive here? I drove right here. Yes. Yes, sir. So, we're doing a DUI investigation. Okay, that's fine. Okay. Yes, I understand. But I don't understand drinking and driving. No, I understand that. But I don't You know why? Because by accident you might hit somebody. No, I haven't hit anybody and that's what I'm saying. So that's why we're doing him to get him to listen. Please listen to me. Please. I'm I'm I'm We're done. You're getting nothing right now. Yeah, you're good. I've never had I've never So, this doesn't make you a bad person? No, I'm not. So, just don't think that accurate in my life. Okay. Well, you're not a bad person. That doesn't make you anything. Made a mistake. No, I've never made It's a mistake that we all make. That's it. Okay. Not a big deal. You're making it worse than it is. Okay. I'm going push that BS button. Yes, you are. You are making it worse. Caitlyn, look, uh, a trip to the Great Bar Motel, uh, it's not going to cost you, but you got to bail out, right? Time and effort and own up to being held accountable for your actions. And again, I've talked about this in other videos is that, you know, when police officers start talking to someone who you believe is drunk, we're never like on the same page now. We're not, you know, like we're working in silos or we're having a conversation in silos. And it doesn't really get you anywhere besides the fact that you have to affect an arrest. And yes, we are gonna go to the Great Bart Motel. No, I'm really not. But I only came here because I was trying to protect my friend. Okay. I had I had possession I had possession of her kids. Where's Where's your driver's license at? My driver's license is at my house, which is literally right down the road, like a corner turn, and I live right down that road on Ridgewood. Can somebody grab your license or no? No, they can. But I can you can drive me to my house. No. Yes, sir. Why is lot here? I'm not a bad person. I have no one said you were. I have no criminal history. So, that's something you're going to explain to the judge. Okay. Like, and I So, I'm going to go to jail. We We don't know yet. We're conducting an investigation. Yeah, because I haven't done anything wrong. Okay. Well, you explain that to the jail. I haven't. I came here to get my best friend so she could be with her kids. And I have her kids. I have possession of her kids. Okay. I I like we're not here for that. I know, but like why is that? Why back on me when I was just trying to do the right thing and go back get her? You can't do the right thing when you've been drinking. No, but I was getting hurt. So I could Especially when you're driving. No, I understand that. But then I could get back to Wellburn. So you were going to drive to Wellburn drunk? I'm not drunk though. That's the thing, man. Come on, man. Are you kidding? Are are you serious right now? Hey, come on. her. I fix to go to her house, get the kids. You want to get your license? Yes, please. Can I I can't go with you. She can go. Yeah, she can go. I don't know where it is. I'll be right back. I don't know where. Okay. Well, I should ask your mom. I see the kids either way. Okay. I'll be right back. Listen, I haven't had any criminal record in Okay, that's something that you I came here for her and her kids. She has her daughter and she just went through something traumatic. So, I came here because she she lives right around the corner and all I wanted was Sabrina to come to her assistance so I could get her kids. I didn't know I'm in the wrong. Okay. I will do anything I have right to resign. Anything you say or do can will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you can't afford one, will be appointed to you. Yellow. You have the right to have an attorney present while bearing any question if you wish. Can you please call her? Listen to me. Let me get through this. What? Hang on. Why are we calling her? Listen, because I am not guilty. You need to call her. She will tell you. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to attorney with you prior, during, or after any questioning. If you can't afford an attorney or desire one, the court will appoint one for you. You may stop the question at any time by refusing to answer further requesting you consult your attorney. Having these rights in mind and still wish to talk to me? Another awkward pause. So, let me fill in the gap for you. Look, I've talked about this in other videos where just know that in order for you to give Miranda warnings, you got to have custody and interrogation, right? Both of those have to meet in order for you to Miranda the arrestee, the suspect. Right. Now, there is case law that comes out of the state of Florida that talks about something about the magical moment. In other words, we can't wait while you're telling me the story, right? When I'm interviewing, trying to get a statement. Cops can't wait for that magical moment to to think to themselves, okay, look, is this accusatory or am I interrogating you or not? So, therefore, you just go ahead and do the Miranda warnings anyways, which is a good good practice. I don't have nothing against it. All I'm saying is is that it doesn't change the outcome. I mean, look, for the last 15 minutes, right, she's been telling you the story about I'm here to pick up the kids, you know, acting a little erratic, just emotional, you know, a little chaotic, if you will. I mean, she's like in crisis about all this. But at the same time, she doesn't want to tell you that she hit Bri, right, at all, and threw her grandmother under the bus. So, my point is is that whether you read the Miranda warnings or not, it doesn't change the outcome. You want to say I never been through this? Basically saying you have I'm not a bad person. I'm not I'm not I'm not saying you are really [ __ ] really good. Listen to me. I'm not saying you're a bad person. I think you made a bad decision. I haven't done anything. Like if I So I think you made a bad decision. No, I haven't. I haven't. I tried I tried to be there for her [ __ ] kid. And I think I think standing here lying to me about the whole thing. I'm not lying. Listen, please. Please though. So, but it happened. You stand You stand here telling me a boldfaced lie. I tried to rescue her kids. Uh-huh. She wanted to go to her. You've been drinking. You got behind the wheel of that car and hit her with the car. I didn't. There's marks over here where you peeled out. I've got witnesses saying you peeled out and that's when you hit her with the side of the car. You did not. Okay. What I'm trying to tell you is So, so here's here's my thing. Why would I trust anything you say at this point when you told us a boldfaced lie right from the beginning? First you told him you drive when we got on scene. Told him you were driving. Then you tried to change it to know I wasn't driving. Then you told him that you're not drunk. Yeah. And that's it's not even that. I'm just saying that I was the one that wasn't responsible. The only one [ __ ] responsible for saving her kids once [ __ ] once again. the only calm down because I'm the only one. I was there for her [ __ ] son. Hey, listen to me. I was there for her son's birth and I'm the only one that gave 10. Yes, sir. I was the only one who gave a [ __ ] Yes, sir. All right. Are you going to calm down now? Can I smoke a cigarette or something? No, that's that's pass. Yes, sir. Now, that being said, are you willing to do FS field sobriety test for me? For what? Cuz you're only going to arrest me anyways. Are you willing to do field sobriety tests? What does that mean? What do I need to do? Are you going to [ __ ] uncuff me cuz I can't [ __ ] do it like this? Y'all are going to stress me out. Anxiety. If you're If you can calm down, I'm going to have a panic attack. If you can calm down. I'm going to have a panic attack. Yeah, I I know, but I'm not a bad person. And you guys just [ __ ] think I am. No, we don't. You're a liar. I'm not a [ __ ] liar. You're a liar. You're not a bad person, but you're a liar. All right, so it to me. Listen to me. I need a [ __ ] napkin. Listen to me. No, I'm listening, but you guys aren't [ __ ] listening to me. You guys are ruining my life. I have had a [ __ ] record. I have to interrupt and say this. Caitlyn, come on. Just turn it down a notch with the fbombs, please. And ever, okay? And I'm a good person. I'm a good [ __ ] person. I live right down the road. The only reason I came here was to say my best friend's [ __ ] kids. And then you guys are going to have Hey, hey, we're going to request that you take a breath test when you get to the jail. You willing to do that? Leave me the [ __ ] alone. So, is that a refusal? Leave me alone. Okay. You realize if you refuse, they suspend your license, correct? [ __ ] it. Leave me the [ __ ] alone. Get up, [ __ ] Refusing. Take her. Okay, final thoughts. Uh, like always, first and foremost, big shout out to I want to say it's Lake City PD who conducted a thorough investigation, right? No stone goes unturned. Uh, look, uh, the Miranda warning, I like it. It's a really good tool. It's a good practice to have. Uh it's just that back in my days, 28 years ago, we didn't practice like that whatsoever. Now, the biggest lesson of them all is Caitlyn, you can't drink and drive. Think about that for a second. You hit Brie and it could have been so much worse. Okay? You got to make better decisions. You really, really do. Okay? I hope you get better. Get the necessary treatment, therapy, whatever it is that you need uh to be better. Okay? Thank you. Hope you learned something. Okay, so Caitlyn was charged with battery, DUI, driving under the influence, and resisting without violence. As a result of those charges, she is to complete 12 hours of probation, 50 hours of community service, complete five weekly job searches. She's got to write an apology letter to the officer, attend DUI school, and her license was suspended for six months. Okay, so go ahead and click that like button, click that notification bell.
