This woman was already at traffic court when she drove towards three people. Want to press charges? Yes, I do. This is so unfair. But they almost got assaulted. Yeah. Cops respond after a dispute over a parking ticket when witnesses say the woman sped through the parking lot and headed straight for them. Take a look. What you said to me on the phone when you called me was that you she created a situation where you weren't fear for your safety vehicle. If that's true statement, that's what you got it right. You got to be specific about it. I am. Why you thought that? That's that's the the specifics here. Can you tell something exactly what happened? So um so we respond in the parking lot. Um [clears throat] we saw that she had parked the vehicle in the uh city uh city hall parking. Uhhuh. So we went ahead and started writing the the parking citation. Uh-huh. Um, as we was writing, as he was writing the citation, the young lady came from uh the courthouse and went across and said, "No, no, no, no, no. You're going to take take that ticket back." Yeah. So, she was already upset. Um, she kept following us, following us, and then um we kept telling her, "We can't take it back. Call you guys where?" Huh? Following you guys where? Just following us in general in the parking lot, telling us to take back the ticket. Did you guys already give her the ticket? Yes, she already it was already in her vehicle. Okay. as I noticed she wasn't stopping. So I Was she in her car at that point or walking? No, she was walking following us. Um then I noticed the sergeant was parked there. So we approached the sergeant and said, "Hey, listen. This lady, she's harassing us. I already got the ticket. There's nothing we could do." Yeah. Already told her that she would have to um if she felt something was wrong with the ticket, then she can go ahead and follow the instructions on the back of the ticket to appeal it. Me and them were talking by the stop sign and I was at the third row of the parking lot. Um all of a sudden, she came out. I guess whatever she conversation she was having with the sergeant. Um, she got in her car, got out her car, she passed the exit. The way she came in, she completely drove past it. She passed the stop sign, almost swerve like swerved into him kind of to to either to hit him or what? I What do you mean by swerve into like she swerved? So So this is the parking go back. So what which way did she go out? She was she was part ter. Uh-huh. And then she went out through that way. No, she came straight. So, there's a stop. There's a stop sign there. Uh-huh. Um, she went past the stop sign towards and then she came almost I had to I actually had to move cuz I was on the phone on the phone. I moved out the way cuz she actually almost hit me with the car. You think she purposely try to hit you with the car? I have no idea cuz she was mad. Did she say anything whenever? She ain't say nothing. All she did was speed around that corner. She passed that stop sign and then leaving the parking lot. She passed that stop sign. She almost hit you. Yeah. And you were in fear for your life? Yeah. Okay. So, there you have it. You have one victim who pretty much says that look, this parking citation has turned into a felony charge, right? It's what we call an ADW with a vehicle, assault with a deadly weapon, the car being the weapon, right? In the state of Florida, that's what we call it here in California. However, in the state of Florida, they call it something along those lines. Aggravated assault uh with the weapon being the vehicle, so on and so forth. But what's going to be interesting to find out is what she has to say the suspect. Even though it's kind of shady to know that you're here uh to go to traffic court regarding a citation that you received and now you're getting a parking citation while you decided to come to the courthouse. You know, not good luck going her way. So, let's see what happens. [snorts] What? What happened? Leaving the uh city hall. I was right into the guy leaving. I didn't two of us. So myself and she landed two stop signs. I ran two stop signs this time. I was very confused in that parking lot. All I did was throw the paper in. I I don't understand what I did wrong. Let me just explain it to you. He's explaining. All I did was throw the paper because they gave me a traffic ticket. This security guard came inside. Yeah, whatever. Okay. Um and he came outside to inform me because I don't live here. I'm unfamiliar. It's my first time here that I can't park there. So, I come back and and the security officer is already writing a ticket. I'm like, "Hey, can you please take this back?" So, yes, I I started getting angry, but that's not a crime to yell at someone. No, it's not. So, even yelling at them, yelling at me, or asking Yeah, it's not a crime. You threw this. Yeah, that's not a crime either. I was just upset. You threw You threw it on his hood. No, I did not. [laughter] I threw it like Huh? How did I get it? I threw it on the top of the car. I didn't So that's literally Okay. Wow. It was It was a piece of paper. I mean, I'm pretty sure you eat this. I don't know. They'll probably send me an email about it. Oh, trying to Were you purposely trying to drive in here? No, I didn't. No, I was speeding around the parking lot trying to figure out a way out because I literally don't know where to park. I still clean the high school, huh? Clean the high school. Yes. Okay. Well, you're saying you don't know where you're at. So like that. There's clearly signs that articulate that. Hey, no courthouse. I thought it was a city. This was all city hall. That's not clear. It just says city hall parking. I thought this was considered part of city hall. Well, obviously you got traffic issues in there and traffic issues out there, but just please be more careful with the city's here. Okay. Okay. You need your driver license. Give me a second. 21 Bravo. 21. Did you ever come back? I'm sorry. Thank you, sir. Okay. So, looks like she's in the clear. But what I will say is, let's concentrate on the word purposeful, right? Because her actions, the purpose of her trying to hit someone, that's pretty serious. That's what's going to determine from this parking citation or even a misdemeanor that's not committing your presence to a felony charge being that ADW with the vehicle, right? The assault with a deadly weapon, the car being the weapon. We're about to find out. We got one victim. Seems as though that there might be other victims. But let's find out. So, the parking lot has signs interest. They have red signs saying no courthouse parking. So, she pulled in, she jumped out, ran over to the courthouse. So, I wrote the ticket and when I put the ticket on the car, she was coming back out saying, "Oh, she didn't know." She was like, "I need to take the ticket back." I walked out. I was like, "No, you it's the signs are clearly saying no uh courthouse parking." So, she got mad and followed me with the ticket. She followed me with the ticket. You guys or you? She followed me and ticket. Yeah. She followed him with the ticket and the officer was in the parking lot. So, she went over to talk to him. Yeah. And I don't know what was said between him and her, but as I was walking back, my supervisor came out and I was talking to her. We were standing right there in the parking lot and she jumped in her car and she ran the stop sign. She was speeding through the parking lot and came in our direction. So luckily we were able to move out of the way. And how did she how did she almost hit you guys? Like she like go like that or like she she ran the stop sign. She didn't stop. She punched it and came towards me. She kept going straight at us. We like had to get out. But we had to get out of literally get out of the way. And you think it was intentional? That was intentional because if you were going to the courthouse, you would have went out and you you weren't in fear for your life. Yes, I mean I have a three-year-old daughter, man. You want to press charges? Yes, I do. Man, it's not looking good for her. You know, the suspect intentionally tried to, I guess, run him out of the road, right? And and here's the deal. Whether you want to press charges or not, hey, if it's a felony crime, we don't need that okay from you, right? From the victims. citation. Oh my gosh, why am I getting arrested? What am I doing right now? We just so we just had a discussion and we found out I didn't do anything. We both said that there was no crime committed. We got So why am I get an explanation? Yeah, I got you. And I'm going to read you something. I mean, what is it? So confused, right? I'm excited. Let me just get to my car. Right. But I don't know. I feel like this is against the law getting arrested without evidence. No, there's probable cause. Okay. What's the probable cause? We got three witnesses alleging the crime occurred. But I was I I'm so confused. I told you what happened. I did admit admit to speeding off out of the parking lot cuz I was upset. Yeah, but we got three witnesses in the How are you? 24. You never been arrested? No. I'm studying to be a veterinarian and I'm a future doctor. That's why I'm like, "What is going on?" So, I'm going read this real quick. Okay. Are you kidding me? So, you have the right to remain silent. Anything you say or do can and will be held against you in the court of law. Do you understand these rights as they have been read to you? I do. Yes, I understand my rights. Okay. Having these rights in mind, do you want to speak with me? Yes, I do. So, what happened at the parking lot there? Oh, what happened at the parking lot? Yeah. Yeah. To continue, you know, I park. I I was under the assumption it said city hall. So, I thought a courthouse was considered city hall parking. At least in Orlando, I think that's how they do it. Um, so I parked there and then I have the security guard come out yelling at me out of this building to go back. I'm super confused. I walk back and he's already writing me a ticket. I'm like, "Can you please get rid of this?" The security the security guard for this building from the parking lot over there in city hall. Correct. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, um, he's already writing it. I I admit I got angry. I started cursing at him. I'm like, "Please, can you get rid of this? Get rid of this." Because I'm like, I'm already here for a ticket, you know, and I didn't know where to park. I immediately came back. You parked in the first row. Yeah. Cuz it says city hall and it's right across from this building. And I also was confused getting out of that parking lot. So, I keep following him. They make me go talk to the officer cuz they're saying I'm harassing the security guard. Um, the security guard or code enforcement? I don't know what they are. I don't know their title. the person who write wrote the ticket, the black man. Yes. And um then I start, you know, following them and then they talk to the officer about it cuz they say I'm harassing him. I talk to the officer. Okay. So, I'm about to push that BS button. My thinking is is that if you were harassing them, that's what they said. You have a couple of witnesses that tell you a whole different story. And so it's one of those situations where we're going to hear you out to hear your side of the story, but it doesn't look good because your actions pretty much have consequences to know that, hey, just get the ticket and go, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Whatever. I'm getting angry. Obviously, I can't do anything about it. My license is right here in my hand. So, whatever. So, then I get upset. I throw the piece of paper on the hood of this car. I get back into my car and I speed off out of the parking lot. So, when you speed off, which way did you take? Uh, I think I took a like I backed out. I don't know. I was confused. I can't remember in the heat of the moment, honestly. So, if you make the right, you know, there's an exit right away, right? I do know. This is my first time here, so I don't know. So, this I mean, it just, you know, if we come out of here, I mean, I'm going to see an exit right there. You know what I'm saying? Mhm. If I come out, I I don't see one right, so I'm not going to take this. Yeah, I came out that way because there was like a do not enter sign on this side. So, I was confused where to park. So, I'm, you know, uh, going around. But whenever whenever you were riding your car, did you almost hit them by accident? I mean, it was an accident. No, I didn't. No, they they were standing in the middle of the road and I went around them. Nowhere did I try to hit them at all. This is outrageous that that's considered whenever whenever they whenever they were on the road, did they have to like jump out the way or? No, not at all. Has there been cameras checked? Because that's not fair that, you know, it's based off of their side of the story. Obviously, I'm upset with them and obviously they're going to try to stick it to me because I'm being a little [ __ ] at them. I get it. Well, no, that's a [ __ ] Like, she was I have three witnesses saying something else and I got and three witnesses on the same side, you know. So, obviously they're going to stick up for their co-workers. I get it. I was addicted, but you know, I was upset. You can't arrest me for being upset. You know, I'm literally a 24y old. Right now, right now, the charge is aggravated assault. What? Come on. Are you kidding me? No, the officer's not kidding at all. Look, the fact that you have three witnesses where they're going to kind of make up the story that all of a sudden they're coming at you and they had to get out of their way. I I just don't see how they benefit from that. I don't think that code enforcement security guards that are writing these parking citations, you know, have anything to gain from telling the police, hey, you know what? Yeah, she just came at me and I was in fear for my life. No, I mean, it's probably factual. And the fact that you actually have three witnesses, not one officer, I'm literally studying to be a doctor. Like, I've never been involved in anything like this. I came here to do my court, you know, violation. It was for a traffic ticket for speeding. That's all. Like, how can they press a charge against me when there's Can you check cameras? Like, there's no cameras. How How is that considered a knock? The three windows is all Can I talk to them to drop the charges at this point? Is this going to be on my record? I'm studying to be a doctor officer. What I would highly recommend is possibly getting a lawyer and go for that. I don't have money for that, sir. This is a whole world of problems. Like, can I please just talk to them and apologize to drop the charges? No. I I'm applying to vet school right now. I've never been involved in anything like this. I don't understand. How is that a You know, Yeah. Do you have anything on you that you're not supposed to have to jail? No, not at all. I have my phone and my vapes in there. That's not illegal. I'm 21 and older. Two one. You're really going to hold me with us, sir? Why? That doesn't make sense. We have a female available. Wait, wait, wait. I'm not leaving. I'm not leaving. I'm not leaving. It's just there. Is there someone else I can talk to this about? I don't understand how I'm getting charged for something based on Okay, three witnesses. They're all working together. That's enough. That's enough for probable cause at this point. What? How? Are you serious? And just to educate ourselves about PC probable cause, uh what the officer is pretty much saying is is that there is a set of articulable facts, you have one, two, three witnesses that say that look, when you were coming out of the parking lot, your car was coming pretty much at full speed and I had to get out of the way because I was in fear for my life. So that particular description are facts. It's not opinions and it's not assumptions, right? So those set of facts leads the officers to believe that [music] you are the one that committed this crime. So that's what elevates a reasonable suspicion to PC. Like I don't do anything wrong. I'm here for a freaking speeding ticket because I was trying to save my parents dog in the first place. I got you. I it's I'm not going to lie to you. It's an unfortunate situation. I understand you want to say you know they they work on the same side, but three of them that are willing to Yeah, of course. because I was already bitching at them. Okay, they're going to obviously try to press charges because I was being a [ __ ] to them. What? What did I do wrong? There was no crime committed. I need the cameras checked then. There is no cameras from what I'm hearing from my father. Okay. Well, then how is that? You have three witness. That's up. That's the way the law works though. Anyone can say anything against it. Okay. Let me go file charges against them. Like what? You know this is [ __ ] You know it. I would suggest I'm an upstanding citizen. Like this is crazy. Say that you aren't. I would highly suggest I don't have money for a lawyer. You might have to look into possibly going. Oh my god. But this is going to take so much. I'm in school. I have class at 4 today. Are you kidding me? I have finals coming up. Oh my god. I got my my temper got me in trouble. I'm sorry. Those yours? Yes. Just a water bottle. You see what they did to me over this? Like this just is freaking Do you Do you want your purse at the I'm getting bugged. I can't believe you want your purse in your car. I I I don't know what to I feel like I shouldn't be getting arrested right now. Is that what you feel at this point? So, how what can I do because I don't think this is a charge. Well, the sergeant's coming to search you so I mean you can pass. I don't got anything on me. I'm astanding citizen. You want this in your car or do you want to take Are you guys towing my car? My car's in public property right now. So, so is it okay there? Did I finally park at the right place? Yeah, you parked in the right place. You could have parked right here. You would have parked. I didn't know how to get in here because there's a do not enter sign on that side. Get out. Um, do you want this in your car? I can put it in your car for real. No, I want it with me. They're okay. Cuz a lot of this stuff is not going to be able to go to the jail. So, they're going to throw away a lot of stuff. Go to jail. What is that? Yeah. So, I'm So, do you want this stuff to go with you or do you do you want your phone and your wallet? Your phone and your wallet? Why am I getting arrested, bro? This doesn't I need I need to answer. Like I said, if I take a lot of this So, you want me to put it in your car? So, you're cool with me going to your car real quick and putting this this part inside there. I mean, there's no re like I just don't understand what's happening right now. Obviously, you're going to jail and a lot of the stuff that you have there. I just told you aggravated assault. That's not Oh my gosh. So, what's going to happen with this? With what? I'm I'm at a hearing right now. I'm in the I'm sure they'll talk to I'll talk to them. See if they could they could But I don't understand how I'm getting charged if the officer already let me go. How is that not illegal? Because they already talked to me about the situation and said I was free to go and that there was no crime committed. [clears throat] Let me address that because you know little critical on the actions of uh of the officers. What they should have done right is maybe perhaps get all statements right because you did know that you had one and possible a couple of more victims to give her their stories as to the actions of the suspects. So I kind of get that part. So I don't know nothing about that. You saw when I got I understand but what lawy cuz like I feel like I'm being I'm not feel like I am being unfairly prosecuted right now. So what can I do on my end? Allow me to explain what you can do. Uh that is called malicious prosecution and you're more than welcome to retain an attorney or they'll give you a public defender and you can argue that with the courts in front of a judge if you feel that way like my partner said look into they want a lawyer or a public defender. But it's already at this point. How the [ __ ] am I getting arrested? This is ridiculous. I have to take a mug shot. Are you serious? No. [sighs and gasps] This is so unfair. They're still filling out statements. I can't get them to drop the charges. That's not fair. How? That'll have to be something they speak with the state attorneys themselves. Oh my god. This has to go through a whole process. Are you kidding me? Like why? Okay, I'll try and get my either. I have class today. [snorts] What time is your class? 4:30. Definitely won't make it by 4:30. Are you kidding me? Are you guys going to bring me back here? Can I go home later? I was like, no. Uh, I can't tell you. It was aggravated assault. What? Don't put me in jail. You're going to be in jail. So, either you get a bond or you won't get a bond, but I [crying] You're kidding me. No. No. And just to be clear, uh this aggravated assault charge uh could be what they call a wobbler, right? Either a misdemeanor or a felony. I'm not too familiar with the state of Florida. Uh someone out there, please help me out. But my thinking is that's the reason why you need the statements, right? And they asked the victims, "Hey, do you want to press charges?" That's ridiculous. That's a huge charge. No, I need to talk to them to drop it. That's a huge charge. It's already passed off. I'm sorry. How though? I didn't have a say in this. They already let me go back to the courtroom. How? An aggravated assault charge is crazy. For what? I don't know. Exactly. I was in here for Exactly. Nobody can say that they saw that besides the people that were already pissed at me because I was yelling at them. No [ __ ] Like, come on. Are you kidding me? But like, once this is on my record, can I get it off? Like, how does that work? That's something you have to speak to a lawyer about, possibly. Oh my god. They need to drop the charges. Look at them smiling about it. They know it. They're just [ __ ] around. Like clearly there's no bodily injury. They're all just [ __ ] keen over there about it. Oh, it's so funny to them. All right. No, I need you to step back. [ __ ] up my life. All right. Time out for a second, okay? Because you have to hold yourself accountable for your actions. Let's not act like this code enforcement officers created this situation for you, okay? You're the one that created all this. It's your actions, you know? So, kind of take some accountability. It's so funny, right? Is this funny to you? I'm happy. So, I'm going to let you know now. I need you to stop yelling, okay? Cuz that could be another charge. Oh my god. For yelling cuz yelling's a charge. Yelling in public. You can't yell in public? No. You're going to cause a scene now. Statement yet or no? Okay. I got um and I got your statement already, right? I gotta give you guys Marshall law. You guys don't want your information out to the public, right? Let me get that for you guys. Hold on. Um I read So I did read her Miranda. She she said that she did get into argument with them that they called her, flagged her down to move her car. They already put the ticket on her dashboard. Um she started arguing with them, following them. That's when she talked to um Sergeant Morgan, threw the ticket on the hood, and then went into her car. She said that she turned her wheel and sped off and then but she said that she had no intentions of hitting them cuz that's what she said. She denies intentionally trying to hit them. She said that she at no point almost hit them. Y literally over there laughing. Like that's just so [ __ ] ridiculous. But they almost got assaulted. Yeah. All right. Sergeant Boare, I'm going to pat you down. ain't got anything on me that's going to stab me, poke me, make for unenjoyable day for me. All right, just turn around. I know. Just step closer. I just don't understand how this happened. All right, let's go. Open the door. Let's go, please. Do I get a phone call when I get there? Wait, real quick. Real quick. The person I need to call, I don't know his number. It's in my phone. They'll let you look at that. They'll let you get that. So, you're being trespassed on city hall. Okay. Do you have any questions? No. They want you to trespass. I have a question. What's going to happen with my court? I told the deputies to talk to the to the judge and then they'll see if they can extend it. Okay. All right. I don't know what to do right now. And I have my dog at home alone. Okay. Do you have somebody that can call? And she's a special needs animal. I take care of her and she's locked up in her grave right now and I don't understand what's happening. I was just wrongfully arrested. They literally told me I was okay. I went back into the courtroom to try to Well, we had to come out here and get all the We got your story. We got their story. I understand. But it's like I understand that's the law, okay? Except three witnesses can give probable cause, but it's just like we literally just talked about it. We have to go off of what what was said and what was written down. I you know, there nothing I do, but what I can give you advice on is you shouldn't act the way you do. It just it's a simple it's it's a simple simple $25 ticket. That's it. It was 40. It was 40 told me to go back because I was about to go up there and ask him. I come immediately back and stop him while he's waiting and he wouldn't stop and I'm like I I I don't understand. I'm not stopping there. I thought city hall dead including the courthouse. You know, there was no reason. I know, but why get upset? Everybody gets so upset over little things. I know. Good job, Hicksarts. Great advice. Look, just $40 it would have cost you, right? And chances are you wouldn't be going to the Gray Bar motel for that matter, right? And it just sucks because she does make a point. You know, I get it. The fact that, hey, I didn't know where to park and I'm confused. I'm not from here. That's all legitimate, but at the same time, you got to have consequences for the way you behave. It's little things. I know. And I definitely let my anger get the best of me, but I know I yelling at someone, cursing at someone. I've had that happen to me many of times at my job. Do I go abuse? No. Do I go out of statement? No. All right, I'm headed to the gym. What do I do? That's so embarrassing. I already told you. Learn to control your temper. It's just something so small. All right, buddy. Okay, let's go ahead and wrap this up. Final thoughts. Uh, first and foremost, big shout out to Sanford PD. Look, it's not many times that you get to uh get a service call to the courthouse uh to arrest someone for a felony crime or for an aggravated assault ADW with a vehicle type crime. Okay. Now, the biggest takeaway here is this. Look, these emotional escalations can turn a minor noncriminal inconvenience into a lifealtering felony. Okay, that's pretty much it. Be safe out there. Up next, I'm looking at how a shoplifting suspect evades the police and ends in a fatal car accident. Get out of the car. Look. Oh my god. Please help me. Please. I need to call my parents right now. He's got a pulse. You got four. But that's over on my second channel where I'll be covering some of the most critical incidents in policing history. Okay. So, the woman was charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill. Her case is ongoing. So, her sentencing information is not available yet. Okay, let's go ahead and click that like button and that notification bell. Don't forget to subscribe. Okay, please comment below because we want to hear from you.
