This nightmare 7-Eleven worker is going to get the surprise of his life. Take a look. >> Is that a problem? >> No. >> There's a homeless guy in the back. >> Stop, please. >> Come on. >> Cops were called after a suspicious coworker noticed strange things happening during his shifts. >> So, what's going on? >> Okay. So, like we had a few audit losses back to back and then um we started watching the tapes. So, what he was doing was he was >> was it like 5,000 the first time 15k next time, right? >> Yeah. And then um we started pulling up the surveillance tapes and we noticed like during his shift he starts like stealing stuff like crates of like merchandise, foods, drinks and everything. And then he goes like under the pretense of throwing away trash and then he stops by his car cuz it's reverse parked right there, pops open the truck and dumps everything into the truck. Last Wednesday when we met with you and Officer Lopez, we camped out the whole night. We were watching the thing live and he did steal headphones and drinks and stuff then, but he didn't do the uh trunk dump. >> Okay. >> Um and then Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, he doesn't work. So, today's his first day back again cuz he works Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. >> What did he What did he do on uh that >> Wednesday night he ended up stealing headphones. Uh >> man, they've been watching him like a hawk. >> Yes, but he didn't do the trunk dump on Wednesday. >> Okay. >> Today, he did the trunk dump. So, what did he do on uh Wednesday? >> Monday, Tuesday, he did the last week, Monday, Tuesday, he did the trunk dump. Wednesday, he stole, but did dump it into his trunk? >> Okay, so we have a serial grand theft dump trunk suspect that decides to rip off the boss during his graveyard shifts. No shame whatsoever. $5,000 on one shift, $15,000 on another shift. What else is left to steal, man? Come on, bro. >> Where did he place it though on Wednesday? >> On Wednesday. So what he did was he drank a lot of the drinks and then he put it in his backpack and then um the headphones he he the trash that he takes out he tossed them in there and then he went to the dumpster area and took the headphones over there and comes back like he stopped by his car but he didn't do anything in it. >> But I'm a little afraid like when we go in there um I don't know if we have to >> what's going to happen is you guys are going to stay over here. >> Okay, >> we'll go over there. We'll do all the talking and whatnot. Mhm. >> Um once we have them secure, >> then you guys go over here or go over there and then we can start tallying the expenses that have been acrewed >> from what he was taken and placed in his car. >> And I'm just scared he's going to either like make a run for it or I don't know if he's like armed or anything like that. >> Well, if he decides to get antsy, then that's his decision. And he just knows that consequences will arise from that and whatever the situation is, we'll deal with it. I like you back here for a second. >> I don't that way. >> Is that a problem? >> No, there's a homeless guy in the back. Oh, >> okay. So, that looks like it was a deception tactic. Look, as long as you can articulate the why, you should be good to go. Been there and done that back in my LAPD days. >> Oh, here. >> Here we go. >> NO, NO, NO. Tell me. Tell me what's wrong. What's wrong? What's wrong? Tell me. Relax. >> Tell me what I do. TELL ME WHAT I'M DOING. >> I AM. I am relaxed. I am relaxed. >> Give us your hand. >> Put your hands behind your [ __ ] back. >> I I have a right to ask questions. What am I being arrested for? >> TELL ME WHAT I'M BEING ARRESTED FOR. Tell me. >> Tell me what I'm being arrested for. >> Relax. >> Just please please a second. Hey, >> please. Please. Please. No. Just listen to me. Please. Please stop. Please, man. Explain to you in a second. I'm just about to get off a man. We'll explain in a second. >> Why you slamming me? Stop. My back is hurt. >> Okay, so it looks like your probation might be extended >> and your back hurts from carrying the stolen crates to your car. Bro, >> turn around. >> WHY ARE YOU GUYS FIGHTING ME? >> TURN AROUND. >> WHY YOU ARRESTING ME? >> TURN AROUND. >> HEY, HELP. >> Turn around. >> Tell me what's wrong, man. >> Stop fighting me, man. Please stop. Please. Please. Please. RESISTANCE IN YOUR STOMACH. STOP. >> I'M IN YOUR STOMACH. >> STOP, MAN. STOP. PLEASE, MAN. >> Get in your stomach. >> JUST STOMACH. >> TALK TO ME. I COVER YOUR >> STOMACH. JUST GET YOURSELF TO ME. >> GET ON YOUR STOMACH. >> WHAT AM I BEING ARRESTED FOR? >> Get on your stomach. >> It's fine, dude. >> Why are you cussing at me, man? >> Man, stop fighting me, man. >> Get on your stomach. >> On your stomach. >> I need to know what I mean. >> Got to get him in a pro position. That's what they're trying to do. It's not easy to do, man. >> Not at all. >> Why are you wrestling with me? >> In your stomach. >> I promise. >> In your stomach. >> If you guys just cooperate. >> No. >> Get up. >> Listen to me, man. >> Stand up. All right. Stand up. >> I know my rights. >> Stand up. Stand up. >> I know my rights. Perfect. Well, >> stand up. >> Okay. Now, we're going to stand up. >> You will, man. >> Stand up. >> Stop pulling me. >> Stand up. >> YOU GOT TO STOP PULLING ME. >> STAND UP THEN. >> TELL ME WHAT I DO. >> I WILL. YOU STAND UP. >> I HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW THAT. >> STAND UP THEN. >> IT IS MY RIGHT TO KNOW THAT. >> STAND UP. IT IS MY RIGHT TO KNOW WHY I'm being harassed. >> On your back, dude. >> Stop fighting me, man. >> ON YOUR BACK. >> STOP FIGHTING ME. >> STAND UP. HOW ABOUT THAT? STAND UP. >> Stand up. Stand up. >> Tell me what I've done. >> Stand up. I'm fighting. Stand up. Huh? Stand up. Stand up. >> Tell me what I've done. >> Stand up. >> I'm I'm sitting right here. >> Stand up. >> I'm sitting right here. Just tell me what I've done. >> Okay. So, it looks like it was no taser Tuesdays for the officers. I've mentioned in other videos that officers can use force when you're affecting an arrest, preventing an escape, or overcoming resistance. You know, back in my LAPD patrol days, I would have let him know why we are arresting him. >> Tell me, what's the charge? >> Possession of a concealed weapon and disturbing the peace. >> Disturbing the peace. I got thrown OUT OF A WINDOW. >> It wouldn't have changed the outcome. >> COULD YOU STOP HARASSING ME? >> GET UP. >> YOU CALL ME OUT. TELL ME THERE'S A HOMELESS GUY. >> GET UP >> AND THEN YOU GUYS START JUMPING ON ME. STAND UP. >> TELL ME WHAT I'VE DONE. >> STAND UP FIRST. >> I KNOW, MAN. PLEASE CALL THE [ __ ] >> STAND UP FIRST. >> WHO ARE YOU? [ __ ] >> STAND UP. >> HELP. GET OFF OF ME. >> I WANT TO KNOW WHAT I'VE DONE. >> Here comes backup. >> Get off of me, man. Get off of me. >> HELP. behind your >> back. We're going to explain it to you. You've got to calm down. >> Okay, so you are probably thinking that they should have tased him. I was thinking the same. You know, the taser policy are a bit different in each police department. Generally, it should not be used when a suspect or subject who is believed to be unarmed, passively resisting or merely failing to comply with commands. Basically, it has to be an immediate threat to the safety of the officers or others. Or if that threat is not immediately addressed, there is an articulable risk the incident could escalate to the use of deadly force. >> My chest, my chest, my chest, my chest. I'm right on the corner right here. Okay. Can someone take that blue plastic 7-Eleven hot dog grabbing glove off him, please? >> Stop. Just stop. Stop. Stop it. What I've done, man. >> Come on. That's got to come off. >> Just stop. Believe this. I've been avoiding everything all week. >> Over here. Wait a minute. >> You don't make it to where they can explain things to you when you're fighting them. >> No, but I listen. >> Can All right. Can I say something? You know, you've known me for a while. All right. >> In a minute. Let them finish what they're doing. >> Once they have you secured and Well, >> the cuffs wouldn't be like that if you weren't fighting with them. All right. >> I wasn't playing. I was underground the whole time. >> They weren't. >> Shut up. Shut up. >> Well, you were resisting. >> For sure you were. >> Stop. >> All right. What's your What's your name from your car? >> I got a crate in my truck. >> Okay. What's Where did it come from? >> Uh the store. >> You take at the store? >> Yes. >> Why? >> Huh? >> Why? >> I I I can't take crates with me because I use in the pack cell. >> Okay. That does that part belong to you? >> Huh? >> Does that part belong to you? >> What? >> Does that product belong to you? >> Is just the crate? >> Does that Does the stuff in the crate belong to you? >> What's in the crate? >> All right. I'm I'm keeping Frank. >> Yeah. He's asking you what's in the crate. >> If you own a store, okay, they have video surveillance of you >> in the back of the store with that crate and you putting stuff inside the crate, specifically store merchandise. Okay, I tell you what I saw. All right, you got two crates, one stop, one stacked top of the other. All right, while you were doing that, you put stuff in the crate. You also went from behind the store towards front of the store. Grabbed something else. Took those prints back there. Whatever drinks you had in your hand, put it in the crate. With that crate, put that crate, came outside, put that stuff that content of the crate as well as the crate in your trunk. >> Okay. And also, apparently there have been several instances in which you've done it where they will have camera footage to do in it, too. >> So, you need to be honest with me. Why? Or why did you take the stuff from back of the store, >> put it in the crane, put it in your trunk? >> Listen, I'll stop talking right here. >> Stop talking. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Let me say right now. Right now, you under arrest for shoplifting and resisting without violence. Okay. Put your feet in the car. >> Put your feet in the car. I'm not going to ask you again. >> Okay. So, let me just say that a lot of police departments practice this part of the investigation different. Back in my LAPD days, we never gave Miranda warnings to suspects. We'll leave that up to the detectives. Why? Because they have the experience and skill set to obtain a confession. >> SHE DID IT. SHE DID IT. SHE'S THE ONE YOU WANT. >> THAT is their primary function. Officers here have enough evidence to arrest and continue with the booking procedures to the Great Bar Motel. Thank you. >> Hey Look what I found. >> Goodies. >> Oh, yeah. >> Goodies. >> Oh, it's like almost like the stuff that he took out of the store. How about that one? >> No, it was all we saw was this one from security. >> That one was already in here from the security camera. >> Last time. >> Yeah, this one is the one he took >> from the back. >> Oh, he's already over here. >> Huh? >> Why you said something about having to come over? He's already >> Oh, yeah. This car is right there. >> Oh yeah, he's only over here. I didn't know he was over here already. I didn't know. >> What did he do? >> Uh, it doesn't roll out apparently. >> What? >> He's thirsty. >> What? I could I couldn't breathe. That's why I was I was trying to see if >> Oh, it's called being claustrophobic, man. You couldn't breathe? >> Yeah. Um, >> there's air coming to the back of you into the back here. So, just got to calm down. Take some deep breaths. You'll be all right, man. >> I'm good, man. >> Okay. >> I'm just >> Okay. >> I'm just about to get off probation, man. >> I got you. Well, this doesn't help that. That's not bad. >> No, it doesn't help it at all. >> Continue probation, bro. >> No. >> We didn't throw any punches like that. We just tried to >> What we tried to do was get him off the wall and turn him over his back on his stomach, but he wasn't going for He didn't throw any punches like that. >> We were fighting him like >> All right. >> We're trying to get him turn over face down. >> So, fighting or trying to detain? >> Trying to detain. Let's clarify that because >> fighting to me is throwing punches and >> Okay. >> No, we didn't fight. >> So, nobody's >> hurt. >> And he's not all banged up, right? >> No. >> All right. >> You're the best one out of it. >> Okay. All right. >> Not passive by any means, but it was not >> all the stuff. It was an in between >> active resisting uploaded. >> He's ahead. >> It's a use of horse. He's he's a employee. >> We would do a use of force investigation. >> He's the guy from last week. >> I thought he would, >> you know, it's a takedown, affect an arrest. Listen, >> they purposely didn't do that so they can catch footage of them so we could 105 him >> that moment. >> So they didn't fire him. >> I figured they would have fired him then. >> Okay. So the store owners intentionally kept it on schedule all week just to gather enough footage to completely bury him. GOT HIM. GOT HIM. >> NO. >> OKAY. OKAY. Got it. >> They waited for this moment purposely. >> So he was loading stuff into his thing. Called you. >> Damn. The bot set him up good >> video. Then you went to detain them and that's when he was just >> all right. We're good. >> Sorry about slamming it. >> Tally. >> Yeah. Let me grab pictures of all the different drinks >> cuz we have >> Let me ask you this. You say that's from an audit. >> No. No. This is Okay. So when we had our audits, we found the shortages for 15,000. So we started watching the tapes last week and then we saw him do the stuff last week. So we started tallying it up and then >> you got video booth for web. >> Yeah, last week's videos we had. >> Oh yeah. And in case nobody told you, we're getting >> pract. Oh yeah. Okay, man. >> Excuse me. Officer, I just want to talk with you about something. Oh, I was just asking, man. How bad is this looking for? >> I won't have to go before a judge to get a bond. I have no shame, man. Y'all can just y'all can just say it. >> I've seen this plenty in my 24 years plus during my time with the LAPD. One greedy decision and your whole night collapses, man. The bottom line is cameras catch everything. Lame excuses always fail. Small thefts destroy jobs and your integrity is non-negotiable. Not worth it for a few energy drinks. Okay, so Siobhan was charged with the following: petty theft, resisting an officer without violence, and violation of probation. He was sentenced to 59 days in county jail, $400 in court costs and fines, and was ordered to make restitution to repay 7-Eleven for the Valley of the Stolen Goods. Ring that bell notification.
