Police catch these D and Dash sisters after they make a run for it, leaving behind an unpaid $137 restaurant bill. I understand this. So, like, I'm telling you, I'm ready to do what you got. When you get to our house, you will see it's big as [ __ ] All right, you put your hands behind your back. Deputies get called to investigate two women accused of skipping out on the restaurant bill. But check this out. They conduct a follow-up investigation, and it escalates to a tense confrontation that ultimately leads to one sister's arrest. Take a look. Hey you, Brett. How you doing, sir? Good. How are you, sir? How are you? Good. What's going on? Good. Uh, not much, my friend. Just about I would probably say about half hour, 45 minutes ago. Had uh two younger black females. Okay. Sitting on the other side of the patio. Um I took a uh Who you the server? Uh this is the server right here. I took a copy of the bill. That's the what they owe us. Okay. Um they ran Oh, they ran Yep. through the parking lot. They witnessed the whole thing, jumped in their car, almost hit a couple citizens walking on the sidewalk as they peeled out of the parking lot. He was only able to catch a video of the back of the car going by the street sign right here. So, we have a video of the car, but you have the license plate. It's It's blurry. I mean, we tried to go still frame by still frame to try to make it out, but it's like a probably like a 6, seveny old Chevy. Looks like a Equinox SUV. Yeah. If I give you a phone number, can you send it to me? Yeah. Yeah, I do. You have video surveillance in the store? I mean, inside of the restaurant. Fortunately, uh nothing past the end of the building here. I don't have access to any kind of back recording. Will that be something owners or the GM has access to? Yeah, I would need video of them coming in. All right, man. So, tell me what happened tonight. I was taking care of a table that one of the other servers, she got cut. We let her go home. She transferred me to the table. Okay. I gave them the drinks. Who's them? The two females that died and dashed from us. Can you describe each one? One, they were both, if I had to guess, African-Amean, darkkinned. Um, they had one had long braided hair. Uh, probably about, if I had to guess, somewhere about my height. Okay. Um, and then the other had a had short, really short red hair. Um, she had a neck tattoo. If I had to guess, four or five letters on the neck tattoo. Uh, they were both really skinny. Um, and they both had tight clothing on. Okay. So, did they order any alcohol or anything? Through the server before me. Okay. So, how much was their bill in total? and 130 the same the same receipt you gave me. Yes. Save. And did they leave anything behind with them? Two single dollar. Okay. So you showed me a video of them leaving and you said describe where they were, where they parked, what type of car it was. So facing the building, they were parked in our left leftsided parking lot. And that is that is the Waverly's parking lot. Okay. Waverly's parking lot. Yes. They were parked in our parking lot all the way to the left side. Yep. Um, they ran out to their car, got in their car, and they peeled out almost hitting I think a few people that were on the side of the sidewalk, side of the road over there. And they took they went north down Beach Road. And then about 5 minutes later when I got that video that I showed you, that's when they were coming back down this way. Okay. Okay. There you have it. Look, Dine and Ditch, right? or done and dash or what they call defronting an inkeeper. You know, when I was in the police academy back in 1998 to 999. Shout out to class 798 LAPD. You know, we did study defunding an inkeeper. It sounds so fancy. You never knew what it really was besides the fact that it's it's ding ditch. That's what we call it here in the state of California. But you know what? You're going to leave $2 tip but say, you know what, deuces, I'm out. Leave the bill and then peel out almost hit a couple of people. I mean, come on. I'mma give you that face that I gave on the other video. Like, um, they were What type of car were they driving? I believe it was a From what I could tell and everything, what I saw was a Chevy Equinox. Like a tannanish uh, green. I'm bad with colors, greenish tannanish. Yeah, it's like almost goldish. Goldish. Yeah. What were you guys doing tonight? Okay, before we get to this right here, the possible suspects. Look, I got to tell you something about the wonderful state of Florida. The fact that you conduct a follow-up investigation, it's what they actually call a bolo, b on the lookout. You know, you get all the information like they did at the Waverly restaurant and they put out a crime broadcast and dispatch puts it out to all units, all jurisdictions and you know what, hope that you can find them. And the fact that they actually found the possible suspects with the description, that's fantastic. I got to keep it real with you. I'm going to tell you right now, here in the city, Los Angeles, we don't do follow, especially for defunding an inkeeper. Literally leaving a place. I asked her to give me water. What's that? You asked her to get you water? Yeah, we stopped at a bar to give me water. Okay. How many bars were you guys on the beach? No, we just got the place I think like three or four miles from here. Not even. Are you guys from here? No. Okay. Did you guys just drive down? No. My little sister has a boyfriend here. Okay. Oh, liter. That's the only reason why we're here in Florida. Okay. I know. I know nothing about Florida. So, like if I go to jail in Florida, my mom's going to be mad. Like, my family's going to be mad. How old are you? I'm 21. Okay. Just turned 21. Yeah. So, I'm like I have no business to be in trouble. I'm not trying to be in trouble. I didn't do anything. Only thing we know, we just literally left a bar. What bar did you guys leave? My sister can tell you. I can tell you from from GPS. Okay. When I charge my phone, I can tell. That's the only thing about police. I could tell you the actual address. If you if you guys followed us, you'll see. I stopped there to get water literally cuz she dropped me off from a restaurant and I got drinks. I'm 21 years old. I'm allowed to drink. Get drink. Yeah. Drinks for what restaurant? Um, it's in Port Charlotte. Uh, okay. Before we go any further, let me just kind of chime in on the fact that what I like about these follow-up investigations is the skill set that these deputies have or they're gaining, right, to ask these questions and put on their investigator hats on. Right now, you got to be a detective and ask all these questions knowing that you really have all this evidence. You know, I said in past videos, let the evidence lead you, right? lead your investigation. They already have all the info. They have a lot of evidence. You know, they just need to get a full confession. That's what it's really all about. And the thing is is that, like I was saying before, in the city of Los, it's too big in LA. Just don't have time because we're constantly chasing the radio to be conducting follow-up investigations for, you know, misdemeanor crimes and something of that sort. I don't know the address. I'm not from here. Okay. I understand. I just You don't know the what the restaurant the restaurant's called? Look, it's in Port Charlotte and obviously in Port Charlotte. My sister picked me up got that drinks water. Literally, that's it. Cuz you don't drink. My little sister doesn't drink. That's why she's literally borderline crying because she's like, "What am I a part of?" Like I called her to come meet me. She's mad and I'm older than her, so I feel responsible. How old is she? She's 20. 21. Okay. So she feels like she she she has the legitimate things to drive, but she's like, "Don't put me in no extra stuff." That's the only thing. Okay. So why I'm with you guys? Obviously you're at a bar. You tell them in Port Why What? You don't know what restaurant you're at or what bar you were at? You said it's in Port Charlotte, but why you out here in Englewood? You see the difference? What's that? Of where? Like I'm new here. Yeah, of course. So I'm in work. Yeah. She knows cuz she's driving. You just don't know what bar you were at. Yeah. Like Okay. Not even like to drink there or nothing. We just like stop to get to where we're going. We're going to Port Charlotte. Yeah. We're home. Like if you follow us camera and all like you will see we don't want to go to jail. Like we don't want to have a record. Like you can follow us home. Like we will get there safe. When you get to our house you will see it's big as [ __ ] Like we're not trying to understand start drama with nobody. I understand. We're not that type of That's why we're just here talking. Yeah, bro. We want to get home. What did you have to drink tonight? Am I going to jail? I know. I just said we're just talking. I'm asking questions. You asked where I got to drink. That's Yeah. What What did you drink at the bar? Tequila. Tequila. Yeah. At the at the restaurant. Restaurant. Okay. You're tell He said you went to the bar for walk. You see what I'm wearing? Look at my shoes. Okay. Those are non-slip. Okay. Let's be honest. Let's be honest. Those are nons. How much did you have to drink tonight? Three. I don't drink at all. Okay. Like never in my life. Like me, my sister, my mom, my dad doesn't play that. Record it. They can see. My parents will tell you. They don't. Patient patient parents, they don't play that. Okay. Yeah. Well, patient parents don't know that you're actually out there dining and ditching. Why I'm here? You guys are at the bar over there on the beach to get water. My sister's trying to take me home. Now you told me you weren't on the beach and now you're telling me you are. No, my sister is just trying to take me home. I understand that. Were you guys together at the bar? I mean the restaurant. No, he wasn't at the restaurant. You're I'm confused. What you're telling me? I said we stopped at the bar. Yeah. So her sister me would sober up. Okay. You What? You were at a restaurant earlier though. You said no, I never said that. Look up the the bar the the restaurant author I I'm I'm literally five days into Florida. Like I would rather just go home. Like damn, I want to make you I want I just want to know what happened tonight. Arthur Arthur restaurant. That is where I work. This is my first day there. Okay. They give me three shots to sober up and the fact that I'm drunk, I'm mad. Like I just want to go home. How how how intoxicated you think you are? Literally from 1 to 3. So at any time did you guys walk out on a bill that wasn't paid or anything? Mass. I'm just asking an honest question. my [ __ ] I'm I'm like being like totally I understand you got nonsip on this like jeely like I have work shoes on like je this is just like extra like these are non-slip like if I was in a bar shaking my ass I I would get that but like okay this is just inconvenient you know we wouldn't be you have distinguishing features about your hair a lot of people have red hair and that's I'm like that's what sucks cuz I'm actually I had a shot or two that's what makes me look bad cuz I had a shot or But my hair Where did you guys eat tonight? Arthur's. Arthur's. Okay. Okay. The uh fact that he mentioned the hair and she just like took it way somewhere else, right? Where were we at before Arthur's? Where? Where? Where were you at before Arthur's? Home. Where's Okay. And they live Where did your sister live? Dinner. We both live together. We just moved into a house. Like I literally told you you can follow us home. Like all of you guys can follow us home. My dad will be there to tell you like they do nothing wrong. Like he will show you his license and everything. He will. We're literally going to get in trouble when we go home. Like I'm 21 years old and I'm going to get in trouble when I go home. Like I just want to make it home. Like I cannot go to jail. I can't get arrested. Like how old are you? 21. I just turned 21. Like I'm like damn. Like I'm sorry. How old is your sister? She's 20. That's why I'm like can we get home please? Like I'm sorry. Like I'm not trying to do nothing wrong but can we please get home? Where were you guys at that you ate and had food home? Like my but I would tell you like he will you don't know black guys like we get in trouble that we're getting pulled over. Listen, we had we had something happen over there at the beach. Some two people didn't pay their tab. Same car you guys are in. Has nothing to do with Has nothing to do with you guys. Why Why are the people there saying you two match the description? We had to go. Okay. I probably Okay. You remember talking to a waitress or anything? Maybe maybe he g you gave him your his uh he gave you his number or anything. You or your sister you got a waitress his number a waiter's number? No. I got a wait number with it. Listen, I'm just asking. Like I said, I'm not trying to I'm not trying to put words in your mouth, but you got to be honest with us. There's a bunch of ways to go about this. Okay. We just moved here. Now, straight up. I'm going to be straight up with you. Please do it. Okay. You were out at the Waverly. No. And you walked out on a bill. Okay. Me and my sister. Yes. No. Okay. There's eyewitnesses. There's video. There's a description of your car. So, you're going to tell me it's somebody else. But there's several things that can go on here. You live in Port Charlotte and stuff that can do, you know, you can I can write you a ticket and you can appear in court or I can physically take you to jail. But that depends on your honesty. Okay. Absolutely. completely. So, if you're going to get go against all the facts and the witnesses and stuff, that's not going to end up well for you. So, honesty is the best policy. So, quit playing dumb right now and be honest. You You're not dumb. You're a smart girl, I'm sure. At all. I'm going push the BS button on that. You definitely sound smart. Uh, you know, you're not dumb. You know what? Hey, I'm not here to pass judgment whatsoever. So, forgive me for saying that. However, comma, think about this. If the bill is $137, right? The defunding an inkeeper, the bond's got to be way more than that. So, you know what happens, right? Period. And you literally know. I'm telling you, me and my little sister have to go home. Okay. Period. We have to go home. But there's a fine to be paid. The fine can be paid. Why would you pay a fine? That's what I'm saying. Why would I pay literally no no physical harm to you guys? So you want to pay for what you No, I want to go home. My mom and my dad is expecting for me and my sister to go home. Like period. Like they're they're they're literally texting my little sister's phone and asking me what's going on. Yeah, but you know what? I hate to be the barrier of bad news, but it sounds or it looks like you're going to end up at the Great Bar Motel. So you might as well call mom and dad, which by the way, they're probably going to be pissed off, right? So regardless, I have to go home. So what's going on tonight? I don't know. Where are you guys coming from? We're coming from our Which one? I have no idea. I'm not from here. So we just put one in on Google and then went to Okay. What? Where's Where's in that direction? This direction? I gota do you know where like what it was near or anything? I'm not. I got you. Where's Is that your sister over there? I got you. How old are you? I'm 20. 20. Gotcha. So, I'm not I'm not I'm going to cut straight to it. We're not playing games. We know what happened tonight. Honesty goes along with you guys live in Port Charlotte now. Yeah. Now, okay. Your sister was how She's a little intoxicated, so I'm trying to You're Have you had anything to drink tonight? A little bit. Okay. Honesty goes a long way. Why we're here is because Were you guys at the Waverly tonight? The restaurant? I don't even know where we at. That's That's a It's a restaurant/bar over there on the beach. Where are you guys over there? I'm not answering much. You don't want to answer any questions? I'm ready. Just do whatever you got to do. Do whatever I got to do. Okay. You done? You're done talking. I understand like why we're here. I understand what you have to do. I may just Well, what I'll explain is when I was explaining your sister was not really understanding. When we we can work with honesty cuz you live here, correct? You have Look, we're from I'll tell you. You want to know? We're from Ohio. We just came down. We don't got nothing in our pocket. We don't We're down here struggling. Like I understand that. So, like I'm telling you, I'm ready to do what you got to do. have an address down here that you just stay in the car. I got you. You guys have family down here that brought you here? No. Any reason why Englewood or anything? No. Uh we're really originally Port Charlotte. Went to Englewood cuz we started working here. We just got a job so we can start Okay. Where do you guys work at? It's called Arthur's. Arthur's? Yes. Okay. We just started working there. Today was our first day. You don't have any permanent addresses or anything? Well, I was saying while I explain to your sister like honesty goes a long way. We can honestly go with a court date if we get honest. But like I said, ball's in your court and when you say you don't want to talk to me no more, that leaves me now leaves me with one choice. You understand what I'm saying? You're here because of the Waverly. No, no, no. Okay. Look, I totally get the fact that, you know what, I'm done. I don't want to talk anymore. Just do what you got to do. That's like implied self- admission, right? It's not expressed. With that being said, you have to empathize for sure, right? She says she's homeless. She's living out of her car with her sister. My thinking is mom and dad probably don't even know or maybe their relationship is not as solid, right? Like the other sister said. And the fact that uh what's that quote? Desperate times calls for desperate measures. I totally get that. So, let's not forget that element, right? That we want to empathize, but you leave us with no choice. She's not going to tell you uh what happened. She's not going to give you her version, her story. She's not going to self-admit. She kind of implicitly already did that for you. Okay. You don't want to talk anymore? Cuz what I read it already. Okay. Now, you said balls in your court. You guys remember leaving two single dollar bills at a restaurant? This is my question. I know nothing about Florida. Like genuinely, if I can reverse two weeks ago, I'll be in Ohio. Okay. You know, Ohio and Florida is different. Mhm. So therefore, with every recording and every video being recorded right now, what can I me and my sister do to make sure we get home? Like gen like J. Hands behind my back, hands in the air. Explained to you already. We did not want the truth that you guys are saying. We're not saying you did anything. We're asking what happened at the Waverly, the restaurant you guys were at, you and your sister. Does margaritas ring a bell or anything? So what do we do? right now. I don't know what you want to do. I don't need to go to jail. I'm a literally college student. Like, I understand. I know. And I don't explain it to you. You don't know. You don't try and help. You don't understand what I have against me. And that's why I asked you. I'm not I'm not I'm not from Florida. I'm from Ohio. And he's holding my back. And I have no I'm not aggressive at all. I got you. Just once you're in handcuffs, you're our responsibility. And that's understandable. But you being a person employee of the government, you're going to do what you have to do. And I understand it. It's something that's on my hands. I give you a chance to talk to us. But if you ask me a chance, if you ask me if I'm from Waverly, you asking me if I had a bill. I have a sister who's right there who's depending on me. Regardless, that camera can look at I cannot allow her to go to jail. So, I'm gonna say whatever the I need to say, but however, I will I will genely take whatever whatever whoever whoever at this point at this point whoever did whatever and run out or whatever, I would take that responsibility. So, my little sister does not get handcuffed. How I feel being like this, I don't want her to do this. I don't want her to go through that. Her she's 20. I'm 21, okay? I had that responsibility to say that. She doesn't even hear me. But I would tell you I would take whatever and I will go in that back seat so she doesn't. I'm sorry I didn't take a couple shots. I will go in that back seat so she doesn't my phone and you can take me so she doesn't. I'm sorry. She does not deserve that. I don't know if she deserves it more than you do, right? I mean, deserving to commit a crime is both of you should be held accountable. That's the way I see it. And the fact that you're saying, "Well, you know what? She doesn't deserve that. Just put it on me." fabricate it, make up a story. It's all me. Which, by the way, I don't remember going into Waverly because that's not what happened. You know what? That's just not the way it works. We are both in college. You can literally look that up. Literally, my dad will cry. He will [ __ ] be so mad at me right now. And I will take that. I will take that. You want to I will take that. Put it in him. I'll take that. So, kick the left. Fine. Fine. Fine. Fine. I just said one at a time. Nothing. My whole body. I can literally take my phone off. You don't have to. I'm not a drug person. Like my parents have money. Like this is sad. Like really this is sad. This is sad. Like this. Can you turn on real quick? You have anything on you that's going to poke or stick us? Nope. All right. Can you put your hands behind your back? Okay, let's go ahead and wrap this up. Uh, final thoughts. First and foremost, like always, big shout out to Charlotte County Sheriff's Office. Look, these deputies from beginning to end. Spot-on job. Look, you started with uh preliminary investigation, right? Getting the information from the witness, from the PR, right? The person reporting or the RP, the reporting party. Then you conducted a follow-up, which is great because now you get to uh hone in on your investigative skills, right? put on that detective hat and ask all those questions knowing that you have a lot of evidence that led you to arrest him. Right now, the biggest lesson of them all is this. What I got out of this, I was writing down as I was watching was um you know, my uh my parents have money, right? And this is so sad. It is. It is extremely sad to know that these desperate times calls for desperate measures. I believe uh the sister that got arrested, uh the younger one, the 20-year-old, she says, "You know what? I'm homeless. this is what we did. And if your parents were really there for you, maybe you just could have made a phone call and said, "Hey, can I have some money so we can go eat?" It sounds so simple, but that's not the case. It never is, you know, and that's about it. Hope you learned something and please be safe out there. Up next, I'm watching two brothers execute a random guy in a hitstyle murder. So, I went to the stairs and that's what I see now. Step out now. Step outside. Hands high in the air. No, you're not for that. You're not going to say that, bro. But that's over on my second channel where I'll be covering some of the most extreme incidents in policing history. Micaia was charged with defrauding an inkeeper under $300. Unfortunately, there is no other public information as it relates to the outcome of this charge. Okay, you know the drill.
