daily You guys, I don't know he he kept accusing me of being a horrible person and making something out of nothing and I didn't even understand what he was talking about. >> On November 28th, 2025, 71-year-old Dennis Schmidt was fatally attacked inside his home in Woodland, Washington. He suffered multiple blunt force injuries to the head and was strangled. His body was later found hidden in a barrel on the property. His roommate, Ricky Miller, was quickly zeroed in on as a suspect, but after 24 years of living side by side with zero police reports, zero complaints, and only one brief argument, what real proof did the police actually have? Spoiler details are in the video description, and the full results of all charges in the case are laid out at the end of the video. >> He's been living [snorts] I've been I'm He's lived at my house for free, no rent, no electricity. He's got my internet, everything. I I And I And I've asked him to move a few times, but I'm always I always just forgive forgive because I didn't want to I didn't want him to have to deal with moving. I mean >> Mhm. So he moved in 24 years ago? >> Yeah. >> So we're we're talking 2001? [clears throat] >> 2001. Yeah. >> So he's been there the whole time? >> Yeah. >> Have you guys been fighting the whole time or has he been good up until recently? >> No, mostly I I'm very I I'm a very forgiving forget guy. I I had an abusive wife for 20 years. I never treated her bad, but you know, and finally Finally she's dead. I didn't think I'd try to not follow me. Let's get a divorce and guardianship or whatever, and the next day I got divorce papers a restraining order of all things. And that was that sucked, but I didn't do anything to her. I just left. Same with Dennis. Except when he grabbed me and and it freaked me out. >> Mhm. >> Uh I made a mistake of uh thinking that I gave him a I wrote him I finally wrote down the act of moving and I and I started asking Copilot how why can't I why can't I get him to my my Why won't he move? He's not fairly an abusive, button-pushing, control freak is living in my house and I have to care for him sleeping. >> Mhm. >> It's not fair. And I learned that I have to go through hoops and whatever that make to get him to evict him. >> So, you called the sheriff's office or did you call to ask about the eviction process? >> No, I didn't call anybody. I talked to Copilot on my computer. >> Okay. Okay. So, okay. >> that you have to babysit. is really stupid right now, but it's a useful tool. Anyway, so I finally wrote him a letter, put it in his car because the last [clears throat] time when he when he wanted to throw me out, he he all he He he He said he would uh drive me I could drive to the store with him or he would take me to appointments and that's all I never asked him anything else than other than that. And then he stopped it I stopped being able to be in his car with him because he's really weird. I I did mention you can check phone records or emails or whatever that I think he's uh experiencing some uh what do you call it uh Alzheimer's things. His dad died of it. >> Okay. >> And and the way he acts and the way he uh projects and uh onto me what that I'm some kind of horrible person and I'm not. The only people left to ask is my sister and anybody I talked to at the doctor's office. You might even find out that he is a horrible with everybody. He's got a terrible attitude, but No, I didn't that I didn't I wasn't I didn't I never thought about hurting her. I was defending myself. Uh I made a mistake of after a week going in and saying uh we need to let's Can we work this out because I don't know what's wrong. Why do you hate me so Why do you think I'm so horrible when I've been nothing but nice to you? And then he just lit up started yelling. I I'm not even sure what he was yelling, something about me making uh big things out of nothing, which I don't even know where that's come from. I'm sure it's some kind of projection. And then [clears throat] uh uh uh he stood up, pointed to the door, yelling, "Get out of my house." Which he's done that before. He's told me to get out of the house, which I do. I mean I do. He doesn't get out of my house. >> And you live in one in one house or are you living in a separate one? >> Yeah. >> Okay, cuz I've never been out there, so >> Yeah, when he when he when he decides to push buttons, he will come into my house. I will ask him, beg him to leave, and he won't leave until I am so miserable and he is got his arms crossed and he has to walk away gleaming his eyes and small face. So, that's the kind of cruelty he's coming up with and and I I just I would just wanted it to move. So, I finally wrote it down. It was a smart-ass letter. I'm I apologize for that, but uh I uh I uh And then after a week, I went in and and yeah, he did he started yelling and pointing to the He grabbed my shoulders, spun me around, which knocked me halfway down. I barely caught myself and I and I uh I I I got scared. I I I hit him with I had my walking stick. I hit him. I know I hit him a couple times. But maybe more. And then I don't remember except somehow everything was really quiet. I looked down and this is the part that doesn't look good. I was uh kneeled down standing on his throat with my hand over his mouth. So, I actually but I don't know how or why that happened except that I got scared and I I was only defending myself and somehow I don't I somehow all that happened and that freaked me out. I I couldn't I barely made it home and it took me a while, a day or I don't know how long, two days, I don't even know how long, to uh to to even be able to function. And uh because that was that was awful what I saw. But anyway, uh and then and then I and then I I I I'm not smart, I guess. I I mean I'm I I got it. I I was worried about Arty. All I cared about was Arty. And Arty My life has been [ __ ] for 25 years. Nothing but pain. The doctors kept me doing nothing. That that 24 years ago tried to destroy me. I told him I had been a year without sleep. Serious pain. I don't worry about my jaw. Feels like it's been ripped off. My arms, horrible pain. And me and I told them I've been up with them hardly no sleep for a year. And they And so I was hearing things and And and and and and and I and they just they they prescribed me a bunch of medicine and called me uh what was it? Bipolar and what's that other schizophrenic crap? And gave me a bunch of medicines, didn't do nothing about Didn't solve anything. Didn't make me feel any different. >> Didn't help you sleep or anything? >> Nothing. No. And uh Over time I wish I would have got a second opinion, but 22 years later, only a year or two ago or whatever it is, then I'm I'm sorry about the [snorts] times. >> That's fine. >> Uh my uh primary health um provider uh tested my thyroid and it was bad and gave me thyroid medicine and my problems went away for about 5 days. >> Uh-huh. >> Then they they came back with a vengeance and I've been horrible ever since. It takes me forever to stop vibrating and calm down after I move. And then when I got to move again, it's going to [ __ ] me up. I'm sorry. I didn't I shouldn't have said that. >> No, you're But anyway, just say whatever you want and you're not going to offend us. >> Okay, I apologize. >> That's fine. >> Anyway, I I I have a weird attitude that came up last night and that's the only reason I complained about handcuffs or driving or I just I can't believe that I'm in I I can't believe it. If I get in trouble for this it's not fair because I've been doing nothing. And there's so many criminals running around, so much corruption. I certainly I didn't even want to be put in handcuffs or walked in barefoot or any of this stuff like that. >> I I I don't I don't blame you for that. I wouldn't want that either, especially when you've been cooperative and you know, you're not giving me any >> I just don't want anybody to think I'm a dick because I'm not. I want to apologize right away. Uh I just This whole This is weird. This [clears throat] This is pathetic. >> Yeah, yeah. >> Uh and uh I [snorts] know that I'm more I uh I spent most of my time in my imagination because that's the safest place especially over the last 24 years. And uh Uh that uh that made And then I I only worried about Arty and uh and this is going to sound dumb, but I've been trying to build a computer for my sister and me for three or four years now and I finally I wasn't happy with what they had, so I finally took got got all the stuff and this one to give that stuff and Arty to my sister and before I called you guys, I was definitely going to call you guys and tell you all the [ __ ] up things I did because I thought originally I'm sorry. I just wanted it to go away. I just wanted to claim ignorance or whatever and then but I knew better right away. >> Yeah, yeah. You know, that you better eventually you're going to tell somebody. >> Yes, and uh and so I I did all this stuff to make the smell go away and stuff, but I didn't use it because you know, I didn't go that far and I did stick him in that drum. >> So, tell me about that. You said you went, you know, after this whole I did my scuffle where he grabbed you and you guys got into the scuffle where you said you went back to your place. >> Yeah. >> And a couple days go by. >> Yeah. >> So, tell me what happened next. >> [snorts] >> I uh I was still I was still on uh I was still afraid of losing Arnie. I know that sounds dumb. That's It's all I care about now, that and my sister. Which [clears throat] I already get to talk to her on the phone. But anyway, uh my brother, he's he's just he's He's like my dad. He's he's got his own thing going. But anyway, uh uh um Sorry. I went back there and I Oh god. >> You can take your time. >> Okay. I uh It took I I could barely do it, but I did pull him out of his house into the area where the drum is. And then I And then And then I barely made it home again. And it It was another day or two and and I did that take putting him together, shoving him into the getting him in the drum, which I could barely carry in these in the early days. It was easy. It was The whole thing was difficult and the emotional part of it was And then of course all of that realization that I was being really stupid and probably making things worse. And I wanted to call you guys, but it really wasn't I really wanted my sister to have Arnie first. And even even then, uh even then, uh I was thinking about calling you tomorrow at least. I just I just needed to work up the nerve to do it. And then because maybe Arnie thinks he's going to I know Arnie thought he was too old for it would be too much trouble. >> Mhm. >> So, anyway, I can't find any dirty anything. I'll lay them out more clearly and I was definitely going to call you guys and face whatever it is I have to face and hopefully hopefully it'll work out. As long as I get to have already and if if I get in trouble for this I'll just uh I don't know. I don't know what will happen to me. I'll think myself to death or something. >> That's what you did. >> I'll I'll I'll have to trade on it cuz there's no way I'm living in jail or deserve to what I did doing anymore I can't defend myself from a really creepy guy. >> So, you mentioned a bucket. What kind of bucket are you referring to? >> A bucket? >> Or a a drum a drum? >> drum. >> Okay. >> It's in the it's in the it's behind it's it's walk in the yard around his yard and there it is. >> Just Is there any more or was it just the one? >> It's got a No. Why? >> Is there more than one drum back there? >> No. Why would there be more than one drum? >> Well, I don't know. I mean, we we've never been out there. I've never been out there. I don't know if you have a bunch of drums back there or just one or >> I thought maybe you I was lining them up or something. >> No, no. I thought maybe you used drums for something and just happened to use one to >> No, I I actually went and got it. I actually looked for it and couldn't find any find any found it. I and yeah, I drove around to do that. So, >> Okay. >> that's probably terrible. >> Where did you find it at? >> Uh >> [snorts] >> way way cool. No, somewhere in Wilco. >> Somewhere in Kelso. >> Wilco. >> Is that somewhere >> Somewhere in Kelso past the school and way down in that road somewhere, I think. >> Okay. What color is the drum? >> Orange. >> It's an orange drum? >> Yeah. >> [clears throat] >> But uh I only did all that because again, I'm I don't think I'm not taking care of yet. And I've been living with this pain and >> [clears throat] >> it just got worse and worse and worse and for some reason this guy way worse. And uh I was just I just I [snorts] just want I just I just wanted to I just give her the sorry note. >> [snorts] >> Um how long had he been getting to where he's mean like that? And was he mean [clears throat] at first or was it just slowly hit or just all of a sudden? >> No, he he got only in the last year he's been really really out of line. >> And just kind of got at you all the time? >> Yeah, trying to kick me out of the car and I uh I don't know what I don't Like I said, I think he's I think he's I think there's something wrong. >> Mhm. [clears throat] Has he been to the doctor for any for a diagnosis to see if maybe he's got Alzheimer's like his old man did? >> Well, he's been to plenty of doctors, so if I you can you can check maybe I was finally going to After about 20 years, I I asked for something for the pain. >> Mhm. >> And apparently that's not allowed. I have to live with it. But apparently again, a lot of people have pain reliever for anything. Okay. And so, I decided recently just days ago that I'm going to ask someone to have to get a lawyer or whatever it takes to I want to be able to function normally. I don't want to talk to you like this. >> Yeah. I don't blame you. Nobody wants to be in pain all the time. >> I am in >> [clears throat] >> a lot of pain. I'm sorry. I >> And this has been going on for 20 some odd years? >> Yeah. >> Wow. >> Yeah. >> And has to take me back to >> I was going to ask the doctor. I also thought that I I wondered if I was stressed because I am I had learned long ago that to just let things flow and be peaceful through no matter what. And maybe I didn't recognize stress. But I was going to ask my doctor if extreme stress could be anything like a malfunctioning thyroid and that maybe try to adjust my thyroid but it wasn't working because of this some kind of stress problem. So, all I want is All I want is to feel normal. I don't want to get high. I'm not a druggy. I don't know what the problem is why I can't get a pain reliever or something. >> Yeah. Yeah, I I I don't know. You would think somebody who has 20 years of pain that they'd be willing to give something to you to help you get through the day. >> Well, I should ask sooner. Do you I It took me 20 years to even ask because I I can't a lot. I I like I used to feel normal. I need more energy. I can't have anything. >> So, this altercation with with Dennis. >> He didn't even give me time to get out of the house. I definitely would have left because that's what you do. >> Uh-huh. >> That's not what he does. That's what I do. And he definitely believed it a couple of times because I would try to ask him what's wrong or why why how are things over the years. Uh he would claim to be this super mechanic and so I couldn't function very well. I let him work on my new truck. He replaced every part on it and then finally said that's the way they ran in 1989. So, a couple of months later, I I worked up the energy to look and right away you get the air cleaner off and then the [ __ ] manifold there intake manifold is all messed up. He's got He's got I remember he did it. He had a weld the intake manifold when I first got the truck. I don't know. And but there's a bunch of solder or something. All go up. He's all messed up. That's the first thing I would I would have looked at. So, he's no mechanic. And he also claimed to be a super painter. So, he painted the tank on my Triumph. And I know it's a fraud. I didn't think anything. But he's claimed to be a liar and that he knows I'm not and he's got some kind of super IQ and all this weird stuff. But with no proof, which I don't care if be yourself. Just why why why are you hurting me? I'm taking care of you, actually. You're You have what you have because you don't pay rent. >> Yeah, right. So, did he work for anyone or is he on disability or any sort of like retirement or something? >> Just Just disability act, I think. >> Disability act. Any ex-wives, kids, anything like that around [snorts] here? >> No. Oh. No. No. Long ago he had an ex-wife, I guess. >> But nobody [snorts] you know or no one that saw him regularly? >> No, I don't know. I didn't even I don't even know if I don't think he had a decent place to live, so. >> [snorts] >> Um so So, other than about a year ago you guys were pretty good. I mean, 20-some years living >> well, I wouldn't say good because uh I asked him to move out many times and and I was tolerant of his nonsense. >> Mhm. >> And I thought you know, he would I got my ride to the doctor's office because I I didn't trust myself to drive until I got off that stupid medicine that I was on for over 20 years. All that brain chemical crap. So, many. And my dreams came back. That That That's a big part. That's My dreams came back. I I used to dream so good >> Mhm. >> and so vivid. I knew all the details I could recall. And then they just went away with because of the >> Because of the medicine? >> Yeah. And then but they started to come back. It's It's not at all what it used to be. Not at all, but a little bit. And then I I felt okay to drive. Uh but uh now it's everything Now I I can't even hardly walk. And I'm only I don't I don't I I'm starting to I'm not driving anymore either. So, I set up a >> [snorts] >> Walmart thing to deliver my groceries, whatever I'm coming to just I just want to I just want to be I just want to be a stay home and be with Arnie and live happily ever after and not bother Genesis anymore. And I He took I wish he just would give me a happy 20. He He said He grabbed me once before years ago and claimed something and I thought it was so dominant I just whatever. I let it go. I didn't I don't know what that was about, but uh this time it was it was it it was different. I mean, when he grabbed me, he spun me around. >> What What did he say when he did that when he grabbed you? >> He was yelling, "Get out of my house." after claiming I was horrible and everything else. And I don't [snorts] know. I can't believe it. But anyway, it it felt different. Yeah. I never felt like I had to defend myself ever in my life. >> Which shoulder did he grab? Do you remember? >> This one right here. >> And your back [clears throat] was >> I was facing and getting ready to go, but he was so quick to stand up and yell and put it and grab He was pointing you with his right hand. He grabbed you with his left. And you were facing him and he kind of spun you like he was going to throw you out of the house. Sending you on down the hallway or whatever. But I felt like he was going to hurt me. Or do something different. >> Where were you guys at in the house at this point? >> In the living [clears throat] room. >> I was He was sitting in his chair and I was uh standing by the heater. I guess you'll know. Just a little [clears throat] ways away from the Well, that's where the couch and the heater but I was just standing right there. >> In the front? In the front door? The front door? Near there or somewhere? >> The sliding glass door, yeah. It was on the >> Is that Is that the main entrance and exit of the house? The sliding glass door or the >> The current Well, no. The back door he uses for entry. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Is that how you got in there? Or did you go through the sliding >> No, I go through the back door all the time, yeah. >> Okay. So when you came, you went to the house and >> I went in. >> Which you have always done. I mean, he's never come >> I mean, I just come in this house. >> Yes. You come in and you try to talk to him about the >> I wanted to know what I wanted to know what was wrong because he's got it made. Why is he treating me so bad? >> Mhm. >> And I I I figured he's got a problem, some kind of problem. But anyway, uh So, I was I I just wish I could have built up did whatever I had to do to make him move. >> Mhm. Do you remember what you said to him and then what he said back to you or anything like that? >> No, after he grabbed me, I didn't say anything. I didn't I didn't say anything. >> So you just walked in and he immediately said get out? >> No, I Oh, when I walked in, he was sitting in his chair and I said uh I asked him uh what what's wrong? What We I can't do this anymore. This is not good for either of us. Why are you so mean to me when I've been nothing but good to you? That set him off. I guess he doesn't like to be I guess that I made a mistake. >> Yeah. >> [snorts] >> So he started bombarding me about how horrible I was. I didn't really I don't I don't I don't listen to nonsense. >> Mhm. >> I don't take it to heart. I don't Otherwise, I would be I would be I don't know what I'd be if >> Do you remember what he said to you? >> Not necessarily, no. I I don't uh Uh just to get out of the talk, he just a part where when he's telling me I'm horrible and how horrible I was, I didn't I didn't listen. I was just I was just kind of shocked. Thinking, "Okay, well, I got to do that paperwork stuff." >> Yeah. >> And before I even had a chance to go myself, >> Mhm. >> he told me to. And before I had a chance to you know, leave like he told me to, >> Mhm. >> he was up and pointing and yelling and grabbed me and and then I I almost fell. I barely caught myself with my foot. So, now I, you know, a hard step and a >> Mhm. >> And it hurt. And uh I I had my cane, so I swung it and hit him and and uh it didn't seem to do anything. >> Where did you hit him at? That work? >> I don't know. I think the arm. >> Mhm. >> But then after that, I don't know because it didn't seem to do anything. >> Mhm. >> And I don't remember any more yelling. I don't remember anything except hitting him. And I don't even know how many times. And then that part about and then the rest, I don't know what the [ __ ] happened. I I don't know. I swear. I just I uh it was like uh It was like everything was real quiet all of a sudden. Like I was coming back from whatever and I looked down and noticed what I did. >> And what was he doing? Was he laying on his back or his front or his side? >> On his back. >> Okay. >> Yeah, and uh and uh of course he it was right in front of him and it was so I grabbed him and leaned him up against the uh his rocking chair. That's where I left him until I figured out how to get to do my dumb [ __ ] stuff. I I I wish I would have just called you guys. God damn it. >> Well, that would have made it a lot easier for everybody. [clears throat] >> I know. I know. I just got scared. I don't >> Did he have any injuries on him that you saw? >> No, I don't know. I have no clue. I didn't look. I covered his face. All right. Yeah, I guess he must because I I I put a tarp over him after I got him in the house. And when I come back, I I stripped a t-shirt over his face because I didn't want to see his eyes again. >> Mhm. >> So, and then by that time I got him Yeah, this this is terrible. I didn't know how to get him in the drum, so I kind of wrapped it, strapped him. That was gross. >> You strapped him with what? I'm I'm sorry. >> I used ratchet straps to kind of >> Oh, okay. >> make him sit. And then and then uh I could put a couple of plastic bags over him and then I kind of took me to there to figure out how to get him in the drum and and then uh and then uh after that of course my senses started coming back to me. >> Mhm. >> And I started realizing that I really [ __ ] up, so >> And when did this happen? >> I think it was the day after Thanksgiving. >> What makes you remember that? >> Because uh I remember it was Thanksgiving. So, and I think it was the day after that. >> [snorts] >> Did you guys spend Thanksgiving together? >> No. No, I don't even Thanksgiving like ever. >> Sunday. >> No, I don't do holidays anymore. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> All right. Um did he have anybody over for Thanksgiving? >> No, he I I don't know if he did he knows anybody. >> Okay. >> I think I think he lost his last friend five or so many years ago, so. >> How long do you think he was in the house before you went back and took him out of the house? >> I think it was a couple of days, but I can't I can't even be anywhere near sure. I was [ __ ] up, totally messed up. I I can't believe this. It's it's messing with me a lot. I can almost feel what it is. I hope I don't see him uh I like to still care and something like that. >> I know. No, no, I I I think I can tell you regret what happened. >> Yeah. >> Um >> I just wanted him to move. I just wanted him >> So, you So, [snorts] he's on the ground and when when you say you hit him, did you hit him with your fist or did you hit him with something >> No, a just stick. I'm They my walking stick. >> Okay. Okay. So, that's >> It's a heavy maple >> Or is it maple? >> Yeah, it's >> It's heavy. >> Hickory. Hickory. >> All wood then. >> Yeah, it's all I thought it was walking stick cuz it was in my bedroom against the uh where that little when you walk in the bedroom and turn left, it's right there. You can't miss it. >> So, it's in your house? >> Yeah, my walking stick. I didn't clean it or do anything with it. I just I mean, somewhere in my maybe you know, when I wasn't thinking about it, I knew I mean, I didn't want to hide anything or didn't to get away with anything, I just I just over the years I I'm more childish than grown up lately. I don't I don't know what that sounds like, but all I care about was partying was all I So I thought about it. >> What kind of dog is Arty? >> He's just a little cute dog. I don't know what they call him. He's a mocking He's a year and about 4 months now. >> Oh, so he's pretty young. >> Yeah, he's so sweet. He's a good He's what you call a good dog. >> good boy. Good boy. >> Yeah. I got him from the grocery store. >> All right. >> A girl I cleaned down the South Mountain and uh showed up with him. >> Oh. >> And uh and I gladly took him in because my dog had died recently. My If person knows like I never owned a cat for when I was a kid, so I can big dogs until Arty and then uh >> [snorts] >> I even He's even rarely He's got his nuts still. >> Oh, really? >> Yeah. >> [laughter] >> I said, "Nah, I'm not going to take those away." And then and I swear I've never seen him lick them once. >> Is that right? >> But I have seen him make passionate love to my blanket a million times. I mean, he's better than cuddling a pillow, right? So Arty is all he He's all I care about. He's all I got. I know it sounds crazy, but Dennis was my friend. I had no other friend. I have Arty. And I I was I was I never did anything dumb like rub his nose in poop to teach I was impatient. Uh and uh and very patient and uh told him you know, it'd be okay. I taught him very I've ne- I've never I've been real good to him and I love him a lot and he loved me. Now, I'm worried about him because he loved uh Dennis uh Bertha right away and attached himself to her and annoying her and she finally gave in and said, "Okay." And then he lost her and then he lost Dennis which is weird like he he'd run into Dennis himself every morning jump in his lap and then just flip and fall into the crook of his arm and look at him like and then sleep maybe for a half hour. I've been told he's told me Dennis told me and then he'd come home and spend the rest of the day with me but every morning we did that. >> He'll visit Dennis? >> So he he he he lost that and then now he might lose me so or he might be in a kennel or might get If you know any- if I anyway I don't know what to do. If you know anybody really nice and I don't get to keep him maybe you can help me. >> Okay. >> But I'm so worried about him. >> Does he still talk to your sister, right? >> Yeah. >> [snorts] >> Where does she live at? >> Jedi Cove, Oregon. >> Okay. About 6 hours away. Let's drive. >> Yeah. >> [snorts] >> I uh I did call her and tell her that uh I needed to come down and pick up her computer and >> [snorts] >> some stuff and I didn't tell her about Dennis of course. Until uh and I I told her that's why I was going to call you right away. I didn't want to get her in trouble. >> Yeah. >> In case I thought maybe she might have called. Or I didn't maybe he might have called or maybe she called. I don't know. >> Yeah, I don't know what I'm going to talk to the guys to see exactly who called. >> Okay. Anyway, I was going to call you. I I know I was going to call you. Especially since I didn't want to get my sister in trouble. I told her what I did. >> Mhm. >> I told her how sorry I was. How weird it was. >> So, what do you think caused him to die? >> Huh? >> So, what do you think caused him to die? >> I'm pretty sure it's because I was standing here on his throat and holding his mouth shut. That's >> You don't think it was getting from getting hit with a walking stick? >> I don't know. I don't have a clue, to be honest with you. I don't know. I don't know. I know how I woke up and that was That was weird. I don't know how I don't know what I was doing. I don't know if I was Was I defending myself? I don't know. Because how did I do that? I didn't have any I could barely function. I don't know what happened, man. I don't know if I >> You ever had that happen before? Like kind of blacked out or >> No, never. I I've never And I've never I'm not a violent person. I uh I only I only I do uh I calmly say what I need to say. Uh But most of the time if I'm getting an obvious if begging for mercy or please stop, go away, leave my house. >> Yeah. >> That kind of stuff. I'm not a I'm not a mean person. >> So, what part of your body was on his throat? >> My foot. My right foot. >> Your right foot? So, you were kind of kneeled down because you had your right foot on his neck and your hand was on his mouth? >> Yeah. Yeah. [clears throat] >> And so, you mentioned you remember hitting him with a stick maybe a couple times. And then you have kind of a period where you don't really remember? >> I don't remember. I'm sorry. >> And the next thing you remember is you got your right foot on his throat and your hand on his What happened to that point? You started to come to, you find yourself in in position, I I uh >> [sighs and gasps] >> I saw the look in his eyes. It was really weird. >> Okay. >> Scared or surprised or frightened or I I tried not to think about it. But uh I uh I lost it a little bit. I I I It took me forever to finally get up or move or and then made it back to my house. >> Mhm. >> I uh I And uh I I took me forever to step over that damn uh drain pipe. I kind of I remember that part because I had to I kind of bent down and put my hands on the ground and pulled my leg over it and and and then half crawled and finally walked home. I mean, it was hard. It was very hard. I think I was emotionally messed up. >> I would say so having something like that happen. >> Yeah, I mean, I guess that could mess with somebody. >> How did you know he was dead? >> He just looked so dead. He looked dead. I don't know what else to >> Did you check to see if he was breathing or try to wake him up or anything? >> You just knew? >> No, I didn't even I guess I didn't know. I mean, I just I got I thought I figured >> Mhm. >> because look at me. I mean, [ __ ] And his eyes were and he didn't look alive. >> Did you have any injuries on you? >> No. >> Okay. Did he have any obvious I think I asked you this before. Did you notice any obvious injuries on him? >> Um not except that I did notice blood like I told you and that uh when I moved him from the office chair, that chair has a some blood on it. >> Where was the blood coming from on him? Do you know? >> Apparently his head because that's what was against the chair. But, >> I don't have a clue where, how, or why. >> You just saw blood in the vicinity and then >> Yeah, when I when I when I went to get him, I didn't see it earlier. >> Oh, you didn't see it that night. You saw it when you went back to the house. >> and I went back to try to do my thumb stuff and tell you guys that you went you told me you'd been back in three weeks kind of nonsense, you know, stupid stuff. Yeah, really stupid stuff. >> Yeah. >> Had you guys ever gotten in a physical fight before? >> No. >> Never? >> No. >> [snorts] >> So, you finally you got the courage to [snorts] go back over the house and you mentioned a tarp and a t-shirt. Was that then or was that later? Or did you take him outside and covered him with a tarp? >> When I mashed the house and pulled him through the sliding glass door by his legs and into that little covered area. >> Yeah. >> I I really think I covered it with the tarp then I I did that. Maybe maybe I did, because later when I came back I looked at it like I knew I didn't want to see his face again, so I put a t-shirt, you know, without lifting the tarp over his head. >> Mhm. >> And and that's where I said I when when I was putting getting in the drum, I noticed blood on the t-shirt, so I told you that he obviously had some injuries. So, uh >> [snorts] >> uh and then uh But, I left him on the tarp for a couple of a day, I think, maybe. I don't know. I don't know the I'm sorry. >> No, that's fine. You do the best you can. >> I don't know a while. >> Yeah. >> I and uh and [snorts] then I uh I can't believe I did this part. When I dug when I did all of it and did the putting in the drum. Then I even went and got it from. And then I I ordered stuff to make smell go away that I wasn't even going to use because >> Was it still smelling from the decomposition? >> I think so, yeah. It's not good. >> Yeah, it's not good. >> But uh >> Definitely the stink smell. >> Yeah. >> You ordered stuff through like Walmart or through Amazon or >> No, online. So, it's not like I was I knew, you know, you'd find out if I was going to try to kill him or something, right? >> Yeah. >> I just I just was I just I uh Of course, I came to my senses. >> Mhm. >> And I was definitely going to call you tomorrow because I told my sister about it tonight. I don't want to get in trouble. >> Yeah. Do you remember what Dennis was wearing [snorts] that night during the incident? >> No. >> No, I didn't. >> Uh Uh Well, obviously obviously Yeah, obviously he had that. Boxers on and something and a t-shirt. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> And did you Were those clothes on him when you put him in the bucket? >> jeans I put jeans on him because I didn't want to >> Touch bare skin? >> Or ratchet strap bare skin or anything like that, yeah. >> Okay, so you put a pair of jeans on him? >> Kind of halfway, mostly all the way over. >> Cuz then you got ratchet straps and were able to >> Kind of hold hold him in the bucket, which was really gross and almost impossible to me forever. >> And then was the bucket standing up or did you Were you able to tip it over? >> No, I tried to I tried to hold him in place and put it up over him, but that didn't work, so I just laid him down and slowly worked him in. >> And then tipped it over? >> Was he able to lift it up and I uh I also thought that uh I should throw his medicine that he was supposed to have with him and his wallet in there, too. >> His wallet? I let his phone in the house because I figured he must have forgotten his phone kind of nonsense. And then I thought it was all a lie. I didn't even think I was clever. I just thought this is stupid. >> Mhm. >> And uh it just took me a I just wanted to do I wanted to try to get already taken care of and and a couple things first before I called you. I >> Mhm. >> I I I'm not I don't know. I thought I did uh it'd be okay as long as I called you. >> Yeah. >> I don't know what I was thinking. >> Okay. So, you You said that you and Dennis have never gotten in a physical fight before. >> Uh >> It was some kind of like he grabbed you or before you said something [snorts] like that, but didn't really go into it. >> Let's see. It's so hard to remember, see. It's so hard. >> 20 years is a long time. >> It's so complicated. I think maybe maybe maybe he He was He was slamming my computer table. I remember he was slamming my computer table with my computer on it. >> Mhm. >> I asked him to stop, but he wouldn't stop. That's when I we had a shove fight, basically. >> Okay. >> And I and I managed to shove him down and uh he's got a lung disease and he told me to stop and I stopped. >> He's got what kind of disease? Lung disease? Some kind of pain pain problem, a really long one. Okay. How long ago was that? >> That is He got that when he was 20-something, probably. I don't >> How long was was that as to where he was slamming your table? How long ago was that? >> Oh, many years ago. Yeah. >> Now, that's the only other time you can remember you guys put your hands on each other? >> Yeah. >> You never hit him before. He's never hit you. >> Never. No. >> You you threaten him before? No. Did he ever threaten you before? >> Uh no. Oh well, he kept the beating he kept he kicked my ass a few times. Yeah. >> Okay. >> And I asked and uh I said whatever. >> [clears throat] >> He said a lot of things. He supposedly knows everything. >> Okay. >> He reminds me of that idiot president just destroying our country. [clears throat] So >> He knows He knows everything. He's the He's the best at everything. >> Yeah. Narcissist. >> Yeah. >> Narcissist. >> Yeah. And we're letting it happen. I can't believe America. I can't believe our corrupt Supreme Court just gets to keep doing what they're doing because they have a life appointment. Why don't we hire people then? Well, he calls it a hire. That way if they [ __ ] up, they're fired. And this all makes sense. Apparently Trump has 3 more years to destroy America and and well his Putin buddy. >> We'll see. We'll see how that goes. He already He already >> pardons criminals. >> If you think about it, only criminals can be pardoned. So if you look at it that way. >> That's it. >> [laughter] >> No, I mean he he pardons criminals. >> Oh, yeah. Yeah. >> Come on, who do you like? Rapists. >> Murderers. >> Drug dealers. >> Um I can't think. I mean >> Is there anything else he wants to know about this incident or your dynamic with your relationship with him or anything like that? >> No, I just No, I I was I was working on getting him evicted. >> Mhm. >> And uh I wish I wouldn't have went in. I wish I just would I want to go home and do it already. >> Mhm. >> I want to do it as soon as possible. >> And so when he grabbed your shoulder what's everything you were thinking at that point? >> I wasn't thinking anything. I was cuz he told me he told me to go home. He told me to leave the stuff. He told me to get out of the house. >> Mhm. >> That's what I was thinking. Get out of the house. >> Mhm. >> [clears throat] >> And then it all happened. I mean, I didn't have time to think anything. >> Okay. >> Don't fish for anything weird cuz there's nothing weird going on. >> That's for uh >> He he I felt like I had to defend myself and I did. And I I don't know why it got created, but I did not do it on purpose. I did not plan anything. I did not This happened and I did the stupid thing about hoping or thinking I was worried about Arnie and I was being dumb. Other than that, if if if you If anybody wants to invite for a high five, >> Mhm. >> I'm fine with that. I just don't want to be blamed. I don't want to be called some kind of I don't want to be I mean, I'm not guilty of this. I didn't >> You didn't go over there to hurt him. >> No. No, not even. >> You didn't go over >> Not even. No. I didn't >> [snorts] >> He can have whatever he He's He's trying to steal the money all the time. Now, I knew he always wanted to show me for some reason. And I knew the only reason he had it was because he doesn't have to pay rent. He needs money. So, uh Well, I don't know what what I'm doing now that I And I knew that I I was starting to think that he did it on purpose because he likes to push my buttons, Arnie. But, it didn't push any buttons. I don't care. Whatever. >> Mhm. >> I would I didn't ask you anything of him. >> Mhm. >> And I I don't care if he's saving money because he doesn't pay rent. >> Yeah. >> He was just supposed to drive me around very little and that was it. And he stopped doing that. He stopped taking the garbage. He That's why there's so much garbage in my house. It's disgusting. I know that if I got some pain reliever in me, I I it would take me 3 days to get it back to normal, which is not great, but actually I wouldn't be embarrassed. And of course I am now. I mean, my toenails are wrapped around my toes. I I haven't been taking very good care of them. I don't remember the last time I took a shower. Which is a a constant pain because it's it's so difficult to do anything. But if I if I get some pain reliever, I'll clean my house and and uh I'll even you know, once I fix that truck and make it reliable, I'll take my garbage to the garbage. But uh I didn't do anything wrong. >> Do you remember what clothing you were wearing that day? >> No. >> Same thing I'm wearing right now. >> No coat or anything? >> Except my t-shirt because it smelled funny. >> Okay. So you were wearing those pants. What shoes were you wearing? >> Those tennis shoes that I wish I had right now. This is all too long mommy. 20 over 20 years ago. They're so tore up. I just >> So are they your only pair of shoes? >> No, I got perfect fit shoes. I just wear the ones >> What kind are those ones? >> My my mom bought them for me. >> Okay. What What kind are they? >> For 10 bucks or whatever it was. They're terrible. They're just tore up tennis shoes. I just >> White in color? >> Yeah. I just uh you know, I love my mom and so I I'm going to wear those shoes until they're not wearable anymore. >> Okay. But you were wearing a different shirt. >> Yeah, I took it off because it smelled funny. >> What What Do you remember what shirt that was? >> It smelled funny after I had so much acid in my stomach. I knew damn well that alcohol sulfur >> Uh-huh. >> right in the bathroom. All I had to do was open the door, reach grab it, close the door, and go home and and take care of that. It was horrible. I just I I did I I couldn't drive to the store on get own. So I did do that. That's why all of a sudden that's all I could smell. >> Okay, so you went over there to grab Alka-Seltzer? You mean Alka-Seltzer? >> Yeah. >> Easier for me to say. Alka-Seltzer at one point This was after he had died. >> Yeah. What? Just the other Just a couple days ago. >> Okay, so after you had put him in the [clears throat] >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> He finished >> And you went over there and it smelled funny. >> Definitely smelled funny. >> Do you remember what shirt that was? >> It's a uh It's a uh What do you call it? It's got long john bottoms and the top is long sleeve top and it's made of uh some kind of fancy wool. Heavy duty wool. It gets in the bathroom on the floor, I think. >> What color is it? >> Gray. >> How long ago do you think we asked? How long ago did you put him in the barrel? >> Few days. >> Well, uh Hopefully they're Hopefully >> If you find five minutes for you, you'll figure out where I got the barrel and the date I got it, right? >> Yeah, probably. >> It was probably the day after that. >> Oh, when did you do that? >> Like how many days Like how long ago did you put him in the barrel? Like a week ago, three weeks ago? Like when it when it happened or just more recently? >> No, all of that. Let's see. Yeah, I did. What? Did that day or two go by and then I took him out and then I another day went by, maybe two, I don't know. Then I put him in the drum and then I stand uh a week, maybe even longer. Probably longer, I guess. I don't know. I'm not sure. But uh >> It's probably within a week of the incident, you think? >> Yeah. Yes. That I got him in the drum, yeah. >> Yeah. >> I think so. About that, yeah. And then uh And then I I uh I opened the plastic parts out of you guys. So, that I could at least give my sister. And I thought of my brother, but then I I changed my mind because I remember when I bought my house from him, that's who I bought it from. >> Mhm. >> I only got $15,000 off. It's all I owe on it. I've been paying that long. It's almost done. >> Mhm. >> And I thought I was going to be so rich after that. And next thing I know, I had busted my >> Yeah. >> I don't know why they raised them 600 to something 900 almost. They claim taxes. It's It's a dick move. They claim to change the taxes. So, I don't know if I'm getting ripped off or not or they're trying to make it so I can't make payment because it just got big. >> Well, it might be based on the value of your property if you're paying your taxes through your mortgage. >> Yeah. >> So, that's probably what it is cuz property taxes go up. You know, based on the valuation of your home. >> Yeah. Anyway, why did I bring that up? >> Um we were talking about uh I don't know. Like you're just talking about your property. >> I was going >> And you gave it to your brother. You said you bought it from >> computer. You want to get the computer done. >> Oh, yeah. >> And you thought about giving it to your brother but then >> And then I changed my mind because when I bought my house, he He jumped his dog on me, a big dog, and that dog was so dirty. It took me forever to wash. I forgot about that. And so, there's no way I would give it to Randy. Damn it. >> Okay. >> He was going to be either him or originally my brother. >> Okay. >> But then I I I I remembered and I changed my mind. And uh my brother I I've tried to talk to him over the years, you know, connect with him, but if I write him an email, he doesn't say anything about anything in the email. He might say something about something >> Mhm. >> or not say at all. >> Okay. >> So, he's kind of a weird guy. >> What's his name? >> Randy. >> Does he live around here? >> No, he lives in Encortus. That's where he lives. >> [snorts] >> Um did you look on the internet at all about how to get rid of the body or how to set him up or anything like that? >> No. >> No? >> No. >> Okay. >> No. >> You just ordered the products, you said. >> I Yeah, I uh I uh I said it was I had a mouse problem in my truck. I I was telling my sister about it. >> Mhm. >> And uh And then I I thought that was clever. >> Mhm. >> Yeah. Nobody ever That's why I got it, but uh no, I I I got a >> great idea. >> And then uh >> What is it actually bought? What is it? Like a cleaner or >> It's called Dead Scent or something like that from Dead Scent. >> Ooh. >> You put a sponge in apparently I haven't opened the box. >> Okay. >> But you have it at your house? >> Yeah. It's It's in a box right there on a monitor right when you open the door. Or maybe maybe I moved it. >> In your In your house? >> Yeah, in my house. >> Okay. >> And still boxed. I I never I wasn't going to use it. I came to my senses somehow during all this process. >> Got you. >> And I swear all I was worried about was already and being having my life after so many years of being [ __ ] up ruined. >> Mhm. >> And I didn't think I deserved it because I didn't mean to kill them. >> Mhm. >> I did not I didn't I can't even believe it. >> Mhm. >> I can't believe it. I wish I wish I knew more. I I stopped I I've been trying so hard to wonder how I how that was even possible. >> Mhm. >> So uh I know I was scared and I don't normally get scared, but long ago I had one fight when I was a kid. I I I just punched this kid for real and I finally hit him. >> Mhm. >> He fell down. I went into the house, started crying. My sister told me that I had to go back out there. That was the best sisterly advice ever because after that, even if I was afraid, I would never show it. I can handle a shitstorm around me. And my life. That was very good advice and that's the way I I used to think. So, and now I can't even remember what I talked about. It was for a reason. So, I'm not thinking clearly now. >> Yeah.
