This scammer was caught using a stolen credit card and fake ID to buy a luxury vehicle. Sorry, what's what's this all about? She said she was born in ' 83, graduated medical school in ' 91, and she's 40 years old. CS respond after employees spot multiple red flags in a woman's attempt to finance an $80,000 truck. But when the questioning begins, her story quickly falls apart. Take a look. Oh yeah. Looking for Dominico Tony. Dominic. Oh, yeah. How are you? How you doing? How are you, Dominic? Yes. I don't want to talk over there cuz the woman's here. Oh, really? Yes. So, what happened was is um woman comes in and says that she's a gynecologist in Mississippi. Okay. And she wants to finance her F150 and take it today. Okay. So we take all her information and I'm like something doesn't add up first of all. So I said the first thing you do is what's the doctor's name? So this is the doctor that she said she is. So she has this lady she has her picture on the license for this lady. Okay. Got it. So the next thing is I said okay on her credit app what does she list? She own her home. And she says own outright. This lady has a $300,000 mortgage on her home. Then the the date of birth on the application is different than is on her license. And if you Google her phone number, it's a New York phone number. Okay. So, I'm not She thinks we're getting the car ready right now. Okay. But she has this lady's stolen credit cuz this lady's like an 860 score. She probably doesn't even know her credit, but someone stole her. Okay. And um did she give you guys any money up front? anything. She doesn't want to get a neckl and we're like, "What are you driving?" Oh, no, no. I'm I'm just getting an extra car. I I have a home. I have an apartment up here. I come up here two days a week. We can find this. Do you have Do you have her documentations with you right now? Do you have her license and all that? Yeah. Okay. Can I see it? Okay. Look, let's just start off by saying that we're not going to push the BS button whatsoever because, as you can tell, this is going to be one of those fraud investigations, right? Identity theft, that type. Okay? And by the way, where are my truck guys out there? Because apparently the title of the video itself says that it's a luxury car. You tell me if an Ford F-150 is actually a luxury vehicle. I don't know. It's a truck. Not a big truck guy. I mean, I got an SUV. Got all the bells and whistles, but just want to know your opinion if you think it's an actual luxury vehicle. You're looking at a license. No, I'm looking for a copy of her license. Did you guys ask why she's from what is in Minnesota? Why did she come here? Yes. She says she has an apartment up here. Oh, okay. She has a license. She prevent. All right. So, this is what we got to do. You guys um entertainer. I'm going to step out. I'm going to call our um financial crime unit cuz they might just come out and you know, yeah, we're going to see cuz she might she might have other stuff on her that we don't know right now. Right now, right now, she thinks her car is getting ready. So you're call right now. I told it be like 45 minutes to an hour. This was the first place that I did. First place. Okay. And she did not give any information on Stanford, correct? Like no addresses or nothing. I asked her actually. I asked like, "So um you live in Mississippi?" So she goes like, "No, I have a place here too, but it's temporary like and I I go back and forth, you know, for work." Okay. So that was a little weird, too. Yeah. Right. If you're a doctor. Yes. So she so she obviously applied under the doctor's information. Okay. Did the did the application go through though? We did not go through it. No, we ran the credits and the credit is good. Very good. As a matter of fact, once you gather all this, you can start going over the paperwork if you're really going to do it. So yeah, keep ready 45 minutes. Yeah, but just tell her the car. Just go over to say I'm going to start going over your paperwork with you. a pal get spooked. So you can actually walk out with no money down. Mhm. Oh yeah, of course. Are you guys like the only place for It's up to It's really up to the banks as long as credit's somewhat stable and it's not something that's completely crazy compared to what you have on your files. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You can throw them like that. Yeah. Let me second that, Anna. Zero down. I mean, your car payment's going to be higher for sure if it's zeroed down. Just out of curiosity, do you think that Dominic is like the owner of the dealership? That's my thinking because he can dress like that because everybody else is financial manager. Everybody's dressed up. And by the way, they have done an awesome investigation. It seems as though, and I always say this, my mantra is what? No stone goes unturned. They pretty much done all the investigative work, all the evidence you need for this identity fraud uh type of case. And that's another thing. If you have a really that kind of credit, she has no issue with anybody. So that's her credit application. I just forgot. She wrote her date of birth wrong. Like she put 82, but it's actually 83. Okay. Even if it is accurate, there's just too many red flags. So here's the thing. Somebody could make a silly mistake about that. But when it's so many red flags, so you can't gynecologist. But how many doctors, you know, gynecologist actually list gynecologist on their Yeah, you don't. That's that's they'll put something. They'll just put MD. Who says apparently she came walked in to that? Hi, I'm a doctor and I want to buy a car. So, yeah. So, I'm going to print I'll print. You want me to print out purchase order and have her sign it? What is she at at this point? What does she sign if she signed anything? I don't know if they finalized anything. Okay. But what I can do is I could finalize it with her right now. No, at this point I don't cuz you know I can um I just want to ask her if she knows her social security number. Well, she can memorize the date of birth, right? And this is not some some easy number cuz I keep looking at this is not something easy to memorize actually. I know it's weird. It's a 56 something kind of. So, do you want me to find or you want me to get the credit application out? I have I have everything here already. I don't think they finalized anything with her. They all got nervous after fraud. Oh, yeah. Yeah, she did. She signed it. So, it's for at this point. Yes. Normally, we don't get this sign until after we get digital signatures when she's sitting in the office cuz we do everything digital. Do you want the application signed? As long as if she wants to sign it. Yeah. Have her sign. Can you get me a signature? She's very um Oh, yes. Oh, yeah. Yeah, that's fine. Yeah. Yeah. I have I have another guy coming. We're just going to color her. Wow. Look at this. the third application signature. It's not even Yeah, it's not even close. Copy that. No, look. She No, look at the last. Yeah. Is it the same? No, you can tell it's different signatures. And let me stop right there because uh handwriting samples is part of this forgery type of investigation where you're going to go file. It's a felony for sure. But what you want to do is you want to be able to when you arrest her and detain her and send her off to the Gray Bar Motel, you definitely as detectives, and I've seen this happen where they'll say, "Hey, you know what? Let's go ahead and do some handwriting samples just to make sure we have more evidence to prove that yeah, this isn't your signature and therefore it's very, very fraudulent on your part." Yeah. Yeah. No, it's not the same. So, you think this woman doesn't even live in Mississippi, you know? I think it's I think it's just Yeah. I got a call earlier from a gentleman, right, who said, you know, his name is Chris. He asked about number give. He asked about a truck and yeah, I've got it. He asked about a truck. I said, I don't have a platinum. I don't have any. Sorry. Then I realized we may have had one. So I went to Gus. He goes, "Oh, yeah. Just be called his number back on the redial." He's like, "Oh, that's cool, Clay. I think you got the sale." He goes, "I've been calling everywhere trying to find a platinum or a limited." Okay. Which is right. And then he said he's going to send somebody. What was his name? Well, no. She walked in and asked for me and then partners. Partners. Partners in C. Uhoh. Bonnie and Clyde. Bonnie and Clyde. So you want the guys? Yeah. What name did he give you? One. That's the number. I sent him all the window stickers. Oh, wow. Okay. I was texting with him. I said coming in. Yes. I apologize. Open it up this way. You can see. So, I got your five five and nine five. What was his name? You said Chris. Yeah, I've got his uh I got No, I'm sorry. Uh Lewis. Lewis. Yep. I go back and look. Oh, actually, I wrote his name down on the You have the window sticker in there. All right, let me go talk to her. So, what's going on? Uh female came in trying to purchase a car. All this information is some doctors from Minnesota and her picture. Obviously, he that's that's not the doctor. So, they he checked the doctor everything. He wants the other officer wants to see right now. She just walked back into the little office. Good. Good. So, we're going to we're going to call her. You got the story, right? She's a She's saying she's a doctor. All, you know, crazy story. Nothing matches. So, I want to I want to first question her and then we just want to, you know. Okay. So, Okay. Where is she? That's okay. Hi, Christine. Yes. Hi. Hello. Uh, so we're here because there's some questions about your application. Yeah. Okay. So, can I give you see your license, please? Sure. Okay. I'm going to stop right here because I want to talk about Miranda warnings. Right. I have mentioned in the past the formula custody plus interrogation equals Miranda. Right. And let me tell you something. The state of Florida is locked on when they mirandize at scene and I'm starting to lean a lot on the fact that hey, if we're going to be asking questions that are very accusatory in nature, then you're better off just giving the Miranda warning, right? Because they're either going to wave it or they're going to invoke either or. And the majority of people don't know that, hey, you know what? I don't want to talk to you. So, back in my days, and I can tell you the way we practice, we don't even do Miranda whatsoever. Why? Because look, I have enough evidence, particularly in this case, you have a substantial amount of evidence to go ahead and arrest her and book her and send her off through the whole procedure onto the Greybar Motel. But with that being said, yeah, Miranda, especially when you're going to be asking some very accusatory type of questions, you know, like, why did you come in here? What is your social security number? Everything that relates to the actual fraud investigation and identity theft, you're better off giving Miranda warnings. Okay. So, you are trying to purchase a vehicle, correct? Yes. Okay. Which one? The um F-150. F150. Okay. You're here by yourself? Yes. Okay. And where do you live? H I live in Mississippi, but I travel from here. What's your address in Mississippi? 110 on the plane. Okay. Go ahead. Phone lane. What? Um sorry. Cool. What's What's this all about? Uh there's some questions about your application, so we're just going to double check that there's no floor going on. That's okay. Okay. Um Madison 39110. Okay. And what's your date of birth on? Uh February 13th, 1983. Okay. Okay. Let me just kind of interrupt right here because I want to be fair on both sides right now. Let's put on our defensive hat on. And she mentioned the word fraud. Like we just want to make sure there's no fraud here. You know what? If you know you're going to be asking a lot of questions about this application and you just have this sense or this hunch that oh [ __ ] I think I'm in trouble, then you know what? Push the BS button. What's your social number? 57. What was my last? I don't remember the last of my social. That's not correct. That's not what you put on application. So, what's your home number? I told you. No, you did not. You did not tell me your What's your phone number? my phone number. Yeah. Well, I lost my my number. So, I lost my phone, so I've been using my Wi-Fi. Okay. I've been using Nine. Okay. And what do you do for employment? I'm a gynecologist. Oh, you are? Okay. Which which hospital? Um St. Dominic. St. Dominic. What's the What's the phone number there? So, if we call St. Dominic, they're going to verify you work there. Yeah. Okay. What's the number over there? Um, hold on. Let me Why are you shaking? I'm not. Okay. What's the doctor's office number? I have to find it. Okay. Do you have a business card? I don't have a business card on me. Do you have your medical license with you? I would like to I don't have it on me. I was I have a home here as well. I have Where's your address in Stanford then? Um I I I live in the apartments that are right by the water by right by Prime. Okay. So, what's the what's the address? I'm sorry. Like why? Why are you guys? Because you're not you're trying. So I'm going to be straight honest with you right now. You came in, you're putting applications and running running stuff, right? None of the stuff you're saying it makes sense. Why doesn't it make sense? Because it doesn't. None of the information that you just gave me is what you put on application. Okay. So Ford, as you're putting everything in, they they caught up to it and we feel that this is you're trying to purchase a car under somebody's house name. If you run this name, Yes. Yes. There is a doctor in Minnesota. Yes. Or Mississippi or Mississippi. Yes. Yes. But that's not that's not her. It's your picture with her information on it. That's my ID. That's your ID. But we rent the ID and there's no information coming up. There's no information coming up. Different name. How? That's how system works. When three cops show up to a car dealership and they're asking you questions, I think something's like a little wrong. Like something's going south real real quick. So if you're saying you're a doctor, I would need to see your medical record. I have it on me right What's what's your medical um ID number then? I don't have it on me right now. And you don't have that memorized. Like see I have an employee number that I go by. That is like the number that you memorize and you know because God forbid something happens and you can help someone here. How you going to identify yourself? Well, I understand that but I don't have the number on me right now. So you don't have a number on you. Okay. Mhm. So like I said, nothing that is that you're saying is making any sense and nothing is adding up. So, uh, obviously, you know, and what hospital do you practice at? St. Thomas. And what year did you graduate? I graduated in, uh, um, sorry, 1991. 1991. Well, that'll make you really old. How old are you? I'm 40. So, you're born in 83 and you're 40 years old. Yes. Let me tell you, if you were my doctor, I wouldn't come see you. You said graduated in ' 91. in 91, born in 80 in 83, and she's 40. Yeah. Stand up, honey. Yeah. Your math doesn't add up. Okay. Yeah. Oh my goodness. So, you're being arrested for for activity. Okay. Okay. I don't have anything there. It's No, this looks like a motel or hotel. No, it's it's supposed to look like it. Okay. Well, what I'm interested in, and I'm sure you are, too, is that I don't think she's acting alone, right? She might be part of this. I don't know, criminal enterprise, a chain of events that went down where maybe she's working in cahoots or in concert with another suspect, right? So maybe perhaps, and again, this is where financial crimes detectives are better at this, right? Personally, just me, there's no reason for me to ask questions about any of her personal information. Why? Because I have a substantial amount of evidence, like I mentioned, to arrest her for fraud, right, and identity theft, both. So, let's just leave that up to the financial crime experts, the detectives, the ones that are trained, that have a lot of experience with these type of investigations cuz maybe they're able to to get more information. You tell me what you think. To help yourself, it's better to start speaking cuz right now it doesn't look good for you. That's what I'm telling you. No cell phones, no nothing. I lost my cell phone. You lost your cell phone? Okay. Do you mind just getting her in your car? I'm just going to grab the rest of their information from them, you know, and she's just going to 39 and I got all the charges. I'll meet you right there. I'm just going to grab the stuff from them. Well, if you want to hang out here, you can go process cuz he's four. Okay, that'll be great. That's a good one. You got that up. So, is she the Oh, yeah. What's Do you want to go say hi to her? Cuz you're very excited with this. Oh, she does want to go say hi. So, uh, she said she was born in ' 83, graduating graduated medical school in ' 91, and she's 40 years old. So, I'm not good at math, but just saying. I was asking. Do you have any weapons, knives, or anything on you? No needles or anything? Nothing's going to poke or hurt us? No, I have no All right. So, what's your last name? What's your last name? Um, can I have a lawyer? It's just for like your property. So, like in order like to process you and then we're going to give you your like we'll review your rights and stuff like that. Okay. It's just like basic information right now. I'm not questioning you or anything like that. It's just getting like like your social security number, date of birth, just like just stuff like that. We're not going to question you about anything right right now. Okay. All right. [laughter] That sounds a little contradicting. just asking you questions about your personal information, but it's just stuff like that. She's saying, "Can I have a lawyer?" Yes, you can. And here's the uh the bigger issue, right? How do you know that the information she's going to give you, whatever name or do or phone number is actually true and accurate? You don't know. I mean, she's being arrested for identity theft. My thinking is you're just better off just arresting under the name she gave the car dealership. Last name. Menddees. Thank you. Um, Victoria, middle name. Do I have to give you all this information? It's just like what we have to put in the required. What happens if I open a different because we have to find out who you are. That's the only not trying to make it. There's only so much I can I just ask for just uh K. Okay. Date of birth Jan. How tall are you? About 530. 530. What's your weight? 160 170. What's your address? Do I need to get address? Yeah. Just so like if anything like your property gets missing, just so we can sit like something like that. Uh actually. Yeah. Who's Chris Lewis? Um he's a friend of mine. Friend of yours. Okay. What kind of friend? So, was the whole thing set up by Chris or you? No, it wasn't set up by Chris. What is What is Chris right now? He's not the one that dropped the whole dealership. No, you dropped the dealership. Yeah, that's fine. No problem. What info did you get from? You don't have any ID with this name, correct? No. Okay. So, we still don't know if that's her. There's nothing. That's all she has on her. Have you ever had a connected or New York license? No. A long time ago. Okay. So, underneath that name, but I'm saying like, have you ever had a New York state license in that in that name? Yes. So, this this is your actual name and date of birth because if it's not, then it's another charge. Okay. just go ahead and take the other charge because I don't think she's going to be honest. You know, push that BS button. I don't think her name is Victoria or Miss Mendes, if you will. And you know what? She invoked. She really did. You know, she has a right to counsel. I mean, we got to be fair on both sides. Just you're better off not even asking her no questions and just go through the whole process. That's about it really. So, this is just all the list of everything I on your person if you want to just look that over. Make sure. Sorry. What's this? It's just like the form the the stack of paper that was on your personal but I think going forward we're just going to seize that so it's not going to be in your property. Okay. That's what I thought. So are you sure this is really you? I'm sure cuz once you sign that paper and I understand it's another charge. Right. But the only way for you to get out of here at all is by somebody coming down with an identification showing it's really you. Okay. Wait. So someone has to bring an ID. Yeah. That's because we don't know who you are. We're not going to go just by first. You're here for identity theft obviously. Well, hold on. Hear me out. And by you just telling us who you are, we're not going to believe you. So, the only way for you to have any chance getting out here between now and Monday morning is if somebody physically brings an ID with your name in your picture. Yeah. After we're done, don't know what we're doing. We'll let you make a phone call. Okay, let's go ahead and wrap this up. Final thoughts. Uh, first and foremost, like always, big shout out to Stanford or Stamp forward, right? PD. Good investigation, right? again getting some guidance and I know that the uh female officer, I think her name was Anna, got some advice from Financial Crimes Unit to proceed and move forward with the investigation and ultimately ended up in an arrest. I get that part. But here's the biggest lesson of them all. This is kind of like free advertisement. Just make sure that you're checking your credit reports, all those bureaus, right? And to make sure that you're not a victim of identity theft. It's very, very important. It happens all the time. And uh let this be a lesson learned for all of us that someone can just very simply like that get your information and go and start making all these purchases. Okay. Hope you learned something. Please be safe out there. Up next, I'm looking at a road rage insula that turns into a shooting. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Oh [ __ ] We got to get him somewhere fast. The other truck standing. Shoot. Like you could see the blood squirting at him. But that's over on my second channel where I'll be covering some of the most critical incidents in policing history. Ultimately, she was charged with forgery and identity theft. However, at this time, we don't know the outcome of those charges or how the case was ultimately resolved.
