This 18-year-old ends up getting a taste of karma before being arrested. [ __ ] at me and then he did this to me. I can't believe it. I just cops respond after a woman claims her ex-boyfriend smashed her window. But the situation takes an unexpected turn when officers discover she has an outstanding warrant. Take a look. Where's everybody else at? They They're inside. Inside. Okay. What's going on? So um I came um we had plans to me and my boyfriend to see each other. So as soon as he come into the car, you know, he has aggression in him because he got upset about something earlier and then he I told him to get out of my car because he grabbed my phone and I literally had to fight him to get it. He bucked at me and then he did this to me. I like he was going to punch me and then when I told him to get out of my car, he got his foot and he broke my windshield. Are you arrested on the vehicle? Oh, no. This is my um under my dad's name. Where's your dad at? So, he's um home at home. Hey, how you doing? Yeah. Okay. Okay. No matter what what's wrong with the with the windshield, if she she has to pay, I going to pay. I want to say something, sir. I don't want she her coming here no more, you know, because always when she come in so many trouble, okay? She's my She's my my son is girlfriend now. Okay. It's it's like a boyfriend and girlfriend. That's is too much. Same. We was living in another apartment. She make the move. Be honest. Ma'am, where's your son at? Huh? Where's your son at? He's not here. Okay. He's an adult, right? Yeah. Okay. We'll make it clear that if you and your son live here that she doesn't need to come back here, but we need to talk to your son. Okay, hold on. Okay, time out. Hold the phone. It's a good time to stop it and kind of flush out some details here. Mom's wasn't having it. You know what? She's spitting facts and I got to tell you, you know what? That's his ex now. Now, we do have a vandalism, so that's a crime. Got to talk to the boyfriend. And you can tell she calls. So, she's going to be the PR. uh she's going to be the person reporting depending on where you work or RP the reporting party. Either or, right? And you can also say that maybe she's also the victim. So you got PR or RP and the victim calling 911 to tell the police to come help me, right? Come fix her problem, protect and serve and let you know that somehow someway I need him to be responsible for uh kicking my windshield and kind of threatening me, you know? I don't know. Let's see what else happens. Stand up. You mind getting her info for me? Sure. You might sit back there with Officer Chadam. Corporal Chad, do you have your ID with you? I do. Okay. Oh, no. My key is in my car. They're locked in there. There you go. Okay. Okay. I'm have go ahead and lock this tag. It's temp tag. Yeah. 36. 36. Can you go in22 my call, please? Okay, come on down here. I'll stand by. I'll get to you in a second. How you doing, sir? What's going on? What's going on there? So, basically, she came to my house, wanted to see me, fix things, I guess. Have been having some issues? Yeah, we've been having some issues lately. So, I just She came over to see me, I guess. and kind of just got into a little argument. What was the argument about? I was happily getting out my car. I was She broke my glasses while I was trying to find them. What was the whole argument about this? It was basically about cuz this other girl. Okay. How long y'all been together? Almost two years. Almost two years. Okay. I got it documented. All right. How old are you? 19. 19. All right, man. You're an adult. All right. I got to figure all this out. That's what I was arguing about. Tell you she Well, just a couple of days ago, she found a girl on my phone that I was involving myself with. Yeah. But she's mad because we was we was broken up around this time. Mhm. So, when I was involving myself with another girl, you know, it wasn't behind her back or, you know, on the break. Yeah. We was just on break. So what transpired inside the vehicle for the windshield to get broken in her some glasses to get broken? So basically we was just talking about the whole situation and she basically she got mad because I kept trying to let me tell her that I was single, you know, and she just she doesn't like that. So she grabbed my glasses. Oh, she broke them. How' she break? See what she do and break them. She hit me. She hit me first, but then one of my glasses flew on her side. Um, I tried to grab them, but she grabbed me first and she twisted them. And you know, I'm I'm half blind without my glasses, so I can't really see. Okay. So, that's probably what set you off, right? Like, if I'm half blind, I need my glasses, right? I get that part. And by the way, you probably weren't caught creeping because you're you're single. You're the ladies, man. You're ready to go. And she tells me to get out her car. Get out of her car. While in the meanwhile all that, I guess my elbow hit the glass and that happened, which wasn't meant for it to happen, but while you're getting out, your elbow hit. Yeah. Well, when I was trying to reach for my glasses, like Oh, that's interesting. Y'all ever live together? Uh, yes, we have. And y'all been together for about what, two years now? And whenever the windshield and broke, I try to explain her. I try to apologize and tell her I'll fix it. I'll fix it. But she didn't want to listen and [ __ ] Called you guys, I guess. Yeah. You know when I tried to tell you because I tried to tell her like all we got to do is to go to the windshield place, you know, they'll fix it. I'll pay for it, you know. But she really trying to listen or not. I got you. I got you. Okay. You get your ID with you or no? Okay. What's your last name? Delo. Yeah. Listen. I want I don't I want resist against her because he used to hit him. He He look You have to do all that through the courts. Yeah. Look. Yeah. You see how that long time ago she used to hit him. Okay. You know, I get it. I get it. But for attorney to go through the court, that's not today. There's not much I can do on that. All right. Yeah. I just want to let you know what what is going on. Yeah, I love mom. This is Miko protecting him, you know. And the thing is is like, you know, a son sometimes like, "Mom, like mom, stop." Like, you know, don't get involved. Like, shut up, mom. Go back inside. Something like that. But Caesar here is super chill. But yeah, TTRO, temporary restraining order. You got to go through the courts uh to get that. What I will say is in a domestic incident, especially domestic violence, when you have cohab, I want to say depending on the relationship, you can have what we call an EPO here in the state of California, an emergency protective order in which you call the judge and if the judge warrants, right, says we're good to go. Yes, let's go ahead and do that a protective order. I want to say it's good for 5 days, at least back in the days it used to be. And it's got conditions and one of those is to stay away, you know, 100 ft or something like that. and police can come and escort you, take all your stuff out and all that good stuff. Once that EPO expires, then it's up to the victim, if you will, right? To go into court to get that temporary restraining order and then maybe even a permanent order, right? It all depends. But just to let you know about the TTRO, how long have y'all been together? Almost two years. Almost two years. Have you ever lived together? Yes, we have. For just a month, though. How recent was that? No, it was just a year ago. That was a year ago. We only lived together for a month. Yeah, that's I told him to get out of my car so he wouldn't get out of my car, right? I understand. Come with me over here. Okay, let's go over my car. Where you staying at now? Okay. Is it the same address on my Yeah. Anything like this ever happened before? Yes, we've had multiple cases, domestic cases. Um, he is actually banned from my house for 3 years after putting his hands on me. Just want to touch on the fact that, you know, when you do get to these uh type of service calls where there's this domestic incident, you know, some violence. You got a domestic incident and as a result of the domestic incident, you have a vandalism that transpired, right, that occurred. And guess what? He's responsible for that. However, it's not committed in your presence. Certain misdemeanors have exceptions to go ahead and effect that arrest. I don't know in this state if it's one of those. However, I don't know. I don't know. I'm I don't want to push the BS button. We have the report and everything in my house. Okay. Was he ever arrested for it? Yes. Um he at my old job he punched someone in the face and he got arrested for that. Not just that, I mean the domestics. Oh, no. No. Okay. He's going to pay for the windshield, right? Um As far as the re windshield getting replaced, that's not something I can dictate. That's between you, him, and possibly the courts. Okay. No, but like I'm saying like he you can get his insurance and that insurance will do that. Cover it, right? His car insurance. Yeah. No, his car insurance. No, that car insurance covers vehicle to vehicle. It doesn't cover this individual damaging a vehicle. Car insurance doesn't work that way. He'd have to come out of pocket to pay that. So, what is the point of calling the police if there's nothing I could do about my windshield? I mean, well, there's something that can be done about the situation. Time out. You call the police. Did you think that the uh police somehow someway is going to write this report and you're going to tell your ex-boyfriend now, right? Hey, call your insurance company. Here's a police report. And tell them to pay for my windshield. H We're going to get your information. If we can find probable cause to make an arrest, we're going to do that because this is a domestic situation. Now, as far as restitution goes, that's not something that we can enforce. I can't force someone. I assume that's why I call so we can just file a report and get that windshield fixed. Honestly, this is this is a point in your life you need to make a decision. How old are you? Like, I'm not here to get lectured. I'm just here to Yeah, I know you're not, but I'm just here to get my windshield. But here's the thing. He's put he's put his hands on you. He's busted your car up. Okay. So somewhere in there, the decisions you're making are not helping you. Okay. But this is about the windshield. This isn't about the relationship. It is because you're in a relationship. Yes. But as of right now, this is just the windshield. As of right now, yeah, sure. You're done with him. You're broken up. But he broke your windshield. You have lived together. You're in a relationship. That makes it domestic violence. Can I talk to that officer instead? Because I understand. No, trust me. I understand. I completely understand. and my decisions to keep going back to him. I completely understand. Well, that's you. You're an adult. You can make that decision. You're right. But I just want to file a report just on my windshield. I don't want to be lectured right now cuz I completely understand. Trust me. The situation's not going to change. Okay. You know what? She's got a point. Which, by the way, I thought I heard wrong, but yeah, I thought she was living with her boyfriend in mom's house right there. But that's not the case. Look, we as cops and and I get it. Look, I'm a dad and I'm here to tell you, yeah, it sounds like something that I would do also is to lecture you. Tell you, look, he's no good. Part your ways. Let bygones be bygones. All that stuff, right? And sometimes we kind of take it to another level and just keep lecturing and lecturing and lecturing. When in reality, all we really have is just we got a vandalism in a domestic incident. You know what? Write the report and call it a day. Because chances are, and I don't know how busy this city is. I mean, can you imagine you're right in the middle of writing this report and you're giving this lecture, if you will, right? Trying to calm the situation down and make her understand that look, this guy is not good for you. He's your ex now. Don't come back. All that Dr. Phil type of advice. And all of a sudden, a hot problem or robbery in progress comes out at the local liquor store. You know what? You got to go. Stay here. I'll come back with the report or something along those line. But you're just you're southbound through the houses and you're gone. What we have here is possible criminal trespass or criminal damage to property domestic violence. This isn't a car accident. Okay, I understand that, but I'm just trying to file a report, but it seems like you're just trying to lecture me right now. Well, I'm trying to offer some helpful advice. No, I can. But that's fine. Don't worry. I need you to stay over there, ma'am. Stay over there, please. You want to talk to him? No, I don't want to talk to him. You don't want to talk to the other officer? No, I do. Okay. Well, then please stand by over there. Okay. All right. So, I got his side. I need to get your side. Okay. So, he's 19. I look at 03. I'm the same age. Okay. So, how long how long have y'all been together? Two years. Two years. Do you ever live together in the past? But I don't want to say it's just living. It was just for a month. Okay. Let me stop right here. Something worth noting is when you have uh a partner, right, and you have this domestic incident, you have two separate parties, it's best, just a suggestion that when you hear one side of the story from one party and then the other officer hears the other side of storm from the other party, you know what? After hearing the stories from both parties, gather up, talk about it, and then make a decision. So, what what happened today? Why why did you come up here? So, um we had plans to come see each other. Um I had meet up with somebody. I guess he got upset about that, but he still texted me saying that he still wanted to see me. And so I that's why I came here. And when I came in the car, the first thing I did was just hug him. He looked at me dead in the eyes with like anger in his face. So that's when I was like, "Okay, can you please just get out of my car?" I was going to leave. He would not leave my car. He um put up his foot to my window to um pretend like he was going to hit it. And I I just stared at him. And then um when I told him to get out of my car, he would not get out. And then we had a um fight. He grabbed my phone and um he wouldn't let go of my phone. So he bucked at me and um raised his fist at my um my face and which made me like jump. And then um what else happened? And then um that's when I drove I tried to drive away, but I was like, "Please get out of my car." And he wouldn't get out. So that's when I grabbed his glasses and just put it and I put it in the back seat. And then that's when he started hitting my uh windshield with his foot. And then um when he broke my windshield, I did grab his glasses and I um that was in the back seat and I broke it. So that's what happened to his glasses in his hands. Okay. But I did not um I don't know. Interesting. A whole different story. Who do you believe? It's so crazy. That's crazy. I'm It's my fault for everything. That's so crazy. That's where I probably would have asked, you know, why do you say it's your fault for everything? Why don't you kind of talk to me about that? Explain that to me if you don't mind. I'm sorry. You mean to break the glasses or not? Oh, when he broke my windshield, I did. Yeah. At what point in all this, you said he raised his fist at you? So, when he grabbed my phone and I tried to get my phone out of his hand. Okay. Now, did he motion like he was trying to hit you or did he just raise his fist down? Um, he motioned it to like he was going to hit me. He didn't raise He didn't just raise it like this. He went forward with it. He always does that. Before we get to the other party, right, the boyfriend or the ex-boyfriend, I should say, is my thinking is when she says that, you know what? It's all my fault. It's all my fault. because she can probably hear what the other officer is saying or having that conversation with her ex-boyfriend and the mom, right? Mom's boss. Don't mess with my miho. Okay. How old are you? 19. 19. All right. You got a job? Yes, sir. Okay. I tried to explain to her that all we have to do is just go to a windshield place, you know, they replace it. I'll pay for it, you know. Okay. But she didn't listen. She wanted to freak out like it couldn't be solved, I guess. Well, I think she's under a misconception thinking that your car insurance would fix it. And then car insurance doesn't work that way. I can pay for I I understand that as as far as the window get fixed. Just someone misunderstood the idea of how vehicle insurance works. Thinking that his vehicle insurance would cover the cost of damages to her car, but no, it doesn't work that way. Sir. Yes, ma'am. I'm his mom. I understand that you see that car like that because because she he or she a lot of damage on that car 33 that's a one she I told him I don't want her no more here I don't want because we I think that's great advice I do too I tell I don't want because she do the she used to hit him I got pro that she used to scratch him I I used to be in the home because she coming okay sorry I got to stop this again because this is the part where he has to say right there some mom. Mom, stop. Go inside. I got this. She uh she she come and it's too much. What she do? Feel like I just said that to someone about two minutes ago. I got told I didn't want to be lectured. Was trying to give advice. Dude, you got the best chance right now. Split your ties. Go. Get away from her. Don't talk to her. It's this ain't going to get anywhere but worse. Yes, sir. And it's going to push it to a point where either one of you or both of you winds up in jail. Okay? And I'm not saying that as like someone's going to come back here, if we come back here, we're going to lock someone up. I mean, one of you is going to put yourselves in a position that you're going to be arrested and yeah, getting a DUI or getting shoplifting or something like that, getting arrested for a misdemeanor charge ain't that big a deal. But domestic violence stuff, that's crazy, dude. It's It's not a felony. It can be at times, but most of the times it's not. It's still a nasty charge to have to sit there and explain when you want to apply for a job or you want to get something. Yes, sir. Okay. If you want to hang out in the back of my car real quick. I just got to log some stuff for the call. Okay. Okay. Ashley needs to get away from my car. Ash, we are doing an investigation. Get away from my car. He needs to get away from my car. You set the car alarm off. about what we're doing. He needs to get away from my car. He needs to get away from my car. Ashley, what did I say? He's not going to touch your car while I'm standing here. But he's near my Mustang. I don't want that. Can he just stand like over there? He's also standing on the sidewalk in front of his house. Can you stay over there, please? Can my car at least park my car right there? You can stay right there. He's going to stay right here. Just breathe. I understand my car whatsoever. Okay. He's not going to hurt your car. I know he's not, but I want I don't want him to hear my car at all. Unfortunately, we don't always get what we want. That's life. I'm just going to move my car. Don't move your car. I'm I'm telling you right now, don't I'm just going to move. That's not an ask that's not a question or a request. Do not move your vehicle. Okay, that sounds good. I don't want him near my car at all. He's not going to touch your car. this Mustang that I pay for it. I don't want him near it. I thought your dad bought it. No, he bought it under his name, but I make payments to it. Okay. Well, he's not going to touch your car. You know what? Thought your dad bought it. You know, we don't need all that. It just seems as though that we can handle this different because, you know, she's just being annoying. Got that part right. I'm sure you can agree with me that it's really unnecessary to be sounding off the alarm and doing all that stuff. My thinking is why don't we just uh tell mom, "Hey, get back in the house." Why don't we go inside the house with a boyfriend so we don't cause a scene? I mean, think about it. You're in an apartment complex and everybody's look, right? Cell phone videos and the whole nine. You know what? Kind of keep it private as much as you can, right? But, you know, it didn't happen that way. And now she's acting up. So, let's see. All right. You better not. You better not touch my car. Ashley, you need to go back over there to the grass. I offer it to Come here. Come here, Ashley. Stand over. Stand right here next to my car. Come stand over here for right now. Okay. You just want to stay near my car. This is my like this. Okay, I get that. I get that. Oh, this Can you text me? This is my cell phone number. If you can text me the phone number, I'm busy dealing with her. I just want to be near my car. This is the only thing that makes me happy. 67 28 Really? I just contacted them and they said, "Yeah, where cooler?" Okay. Wow. And it's 28. So Mhm. Huh. Guest. All right. Well, [ __ ] We'll figure this out. Okay. All right. So, right now, you put your hands behind your back. Give a warrant for your arrest for uh battery DVA. That's Not through our jurisdiction. That's just in the system. Another jur another police department put a warrant in for her arrest. Okay, let me stop right there and just kind of let you know the reasons why it's important to let you know that when you call 911, you're either the PR person reporting or the RP, the reporting party. And sometimes when you call, you're also the victim. And sometimes when you call, you end up being the suspect. I was supposed to go to court for my family on January, though. I can't believe it. I just want to ask you to confirm. Can I put my stuff in the car? Yeah, sure. Absolutely. If you want to unlock it, would you like me to set it in the car for you? Okay. Where do you want me to set it? I can't believe it right now. Can you just put it on my passenger seat, please? Well, I don't want to leave your wallet and your phone sitting in your passenger seat where everyone can see. You want to put in the glove box or we can put it in the trunk. Um, I don't know. I don't know what to do. Unlock the trunk. You would do this to me. It is not. It is not known. Fuller police department has a warrant out for your arrest. Okay. All right. Bowler Police Department have the warning for your arrest. It's not him. I know. I know. You want your stuff? You see the keys? Okay. Okay. Okay. Just unlock the trunk. Okay. Take it right there. Okay. Well, all I did was look make a phone call. I have her ID. Okay. You've got her ID. Do you want your Ashley? Do you want your cell phone so you make a phone call? Yes, please. Okay. All right. You get phone. The jail will let you get phone numbers out of it. Okay. I came here to love you and this is what you do. This isn't him. You had to break my windshield. This is not him. This is No, I know it isn't him, but he brought the windshield. I told you I was y'all hang out for me. I'll get the paperwork for y'all. My parents said they dropped the charges. I don't understand. I just spoke with Huler. They confirmed it. Okay. They told me they You have any weapons on you or anything? No. You got any pockets on the shorts? No. Oh my god. They said they were going to drop the charges. Go and step in the car for me. Surf the pre or something. Um cuz I we still got to figure all this out. What happened? She's got warrants out of Pooler for I don't know if it's an incident to do with you or do with her family. She said something about it being dealing with her family. That's nothing that we can do. At some point or another, if she had come into contact with law enforcement, she'd be going to jail for that warrant. This situation just happened to be the chance that it was found out. She got pulled over in the car and they ran her information. She would have had a warrant. They would have arrested through that. It's nothing to do her getting arrested right now. has nothing to do with today's incident. Well, he he's feeling bad. I get I get it. You feel bad. She's got some problems. Yeah. Okay. You know what? What I will say is this. And again, look, I appreciate the cop doing a lot of explaining, a lot of talking, a lot of lecturing, and on top of all that, he's got to go through the uh arrest and booking procedures. Get all that, but you know what? It's just best to just look, she's got a warrant, and we got to go. No need to explain further. I get it. She's young, but she's an adult, too. And I think she hasn't understood that yet. I don't know if either of you understand it yet, but you both better start cuz you're starting to make adult decisions. And when you make bad adult decisions, you get treated like an adult. And it suck. Yeah. But the point is the I tell her I tell him is the person is not good. uh be you know feel bad. I get you feel bad man. Listen but what she did she call the police on him. So should be go to the jail she don't want to feel bad. That's how I tell her. You know some women I'm a woman but some women are really crazy and they a lot do a lot of stuff. All right. Bye. Damn 36 transport one Hispanic female from my location to CCDC. Mileage is one5 one5 211 pig rude as hell to me for no reason and I just wanted to get mying windshield report. Okay, let's wrap this up. Final thoughts. Uh first and foremost, like always, big shout out to Savannah Police Department. Look, those officers, great investigation, a lot of explaining, some lecturing, right? Got that part. And great investigation. The fact that you're able to find that she has a warrant for arrest for a DV that even speaks more volume. And here's the deal. I know we kind of had some fun with it, right? I mean, for me, I was humor. I always talk about humor. Humor is the best emotion to have uh in such a traumatic job. It is. It's believe me, we see the worst that God has to offer. The biggest lesson is Ashley, please. You're young. You got to get help. have your parents really be there for you, your whole family to ensure that incidents like this don't happen in the future, right? Especially when you start talking about getting involved in relationships, okay? And the same thing goes for the boyfriend. Look, man, you know, these are lessons learned. You're going to grow from this, get better, and make better decisions, right, as it relates to getting committed in a full exclusive relationship or not. Hope you learned something. Be safe out there. Up next, I'm looking at a large police response to an active hostage situation. Street Southeast still southbound. I got it. I got her. I got her. But that's over on my second channel where I'll be covering some of the most extreme incidents in policing history. Ashley was arrested and booked on an outstanding warrant from another police department related to a charge of battery in a domestic violence case.
