in the moment when when you're in the moment, you don't think about the future. You know, you think you see things that you need and you take them, you know, because you need them, you know, like like that Red Bull, you see it, you're thirsty and in the woods, been out there for days, you find a Red Bull, you're like, "Oh my god." You know, I open up and I drink it. >> Mhm. >> But you don't think about the consequences of if it's right or wrong. You just think you drink it because you need it. On June 14th, 2020, in Kadas County, Washington, Jorge Alcantara Gonzalez was taken into custody after a week'sl long manhunt in connection with the disappearance of Ian Eckles, who vanished near Liberty in May 2020, and is presumed to have been killed. The full case summary is in the video description, followed by criminal conviction and sentencing details at the end of the video. Thank you. Thank you. >> Like it better? >> Much better. Thank you. >> The only person that has an extra pair of sweatpants is me, and I don't think those are going to [laughter] fit you. I don't think you would like them. >> Probably not your color. >> I appreciate. [laughter] >> We said sweats, but if you sweat, I won't, I guess. >> Okay. Uh, feel better? >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, [snorts] >> you know that at first when we were talking about the revolver, the superhawk red hawk red hawk. >> Red hawk. >> Can you tell I'm not the hawk? >> The red hawk. Um, said you found it in the woods. I mean, I know you're, you know, a little nervous about stuff. And now you said you found it from >> Yeah, it was inside a house. Okay. >> So, did you did you file the number off with the file that we found in the um in your stuff in the in the expedition? Yeah. How long did that take? >> Yeah. Like >> I mean >> I know I know it's going to be longer for me to pay for that legally because of what it represents. I think I I heard someone say that if you do that it's a long time in jail. So I at this point it's okay. But I did that. So that's too bad. >> Yeah. No. And I and I know that you did that on the like the black powder rifle and I think on the shotgun that you had that day. I was trying to, you know, I just, like I said, when when you're out there and you you have this situation, you're like, what can I do to avoid getting caught, you know? >> Sure. >> But it wasn't because I wanted to damage the guns or hurt. >> Sure. And I we all can appreciate that. I mean, it's it's what everybody does. And I know you had a lot of time out there. Yeah. >> Um that you know, you're doing things all on my own. like I've never had any contact with anyone or you know because of the way that I like you know I like to live you know it's on my own. >> I feel like just you know we don't we don't know each other that well Jorge but I feel like just from talking to you and and talking to your family like you're kind of maybe at a point to kind of end some stuff, you know, to just get your court stuff taken care of. you know, do whatever you need to do with this stuff. >> Yeah. >> Um, is that is that right? Is that wrong? I mean, your brother Miguel, he says he really wants to help you. He just, >> you know, he said he he can't help you until you help yourself a little bit, too. >> I know what he means by that. Do you know what? He's right in saying that because there are some things I don't I don't totally agree with, you know, being family issues, but >> apart from that, we've always worked together. >> He's been kind enough to give me work every, you know, for years. >> Mhm. >> And I have nothing but good things to say. You know, it's like >> he's my brother. I love him. Mhm. >> And I just felt that I couldn't be around them anymore because of my issues or my way of my way of life. You know, I like I enjoy being outdoors more than anything. And >> I just uh decided to be on my own. >> But that was that was it. >> And you know, you're lucky to have a family like that for me. I mean, I don't even talk to my brother. >> So, um you know, not all not all families can have as much conflict as you guys have had. and at the end of the day still say, you know what, but I love him. He's my brother. >> Exactly. Yeah. >> So, I mean, you're you're really >> bottom line. My bottom line is he's my brother. >> There's nothing I would not do for him. You know, >> I saw the uh the note that you wrote the the Ganos. Do you mind if I if I read that to you? >> I just want I just write just written it down. I was just about to take a shower and cook some food and I was I was just about to walk away, you know. I I took the guns back and that's what that's the main reason I came back is because I didn't want to carry those guns with me. I knew they wasn't right. >> What did you do with the safe? Like how did you get that? >> I had to open it up. I had to I opened it up, you know, my hands and a pry bar and I just opened it up. >> But how did did you you were on foot, right? We had your expedition, right? >> What do you mean? >> So you went there, you said after when you were running from us? >> I was on foot. Yeah. >> So where did you take it to? I took it a few few hundred meters west up the hill. >> Yeah. Like up in in through the trees, you know, wherever I could just feel safe. And I I found probably bar in his garage and I that's what I used to open it. >> So you left with two bikes, a safe, guns, all that food. >> I was carrying the safe on the right side and I was carrying the bikes on the left side. >> Both the bikes at the same time? >> Well, no, one bike because like I said, I took one bike first >> thinking I was going to be able to fix it. Both tires were blown. >> Okay. So then you went back a second time. >> I came back the same like an hour, like less than an hour. I realized I was getting the get the other back. >> And then the third time today >> and I was like I couldn't make one work so I just took it back. >> So your note says, "Mr. Gono, you mind if I read this?" >> Sure. >> Finding your cabin and saved my life. Starving and with no food. Only God knows that I am here. How I made it here. >> How I made it here. Sorry, there's a there's a pin over what you wrote. Uh, the sheriff's had me on the run. I found a vehicle that did not belong to me in the woods. I had nothing. I took it and now I'm on the run. They may think the worst, but I can say life goes on. Please forgive my trespass. I will pay you on this life or on the next. May God show you his light. Alpha Omega. >> Yeah, I wrote that. What's the alpha omega mean? >> What does it mean to you? >> Honestly, I see alpha omega and it means like a college thing. Probably has nothing to do with what your meaning is. >> See, that's the thing is most people don't know what it means. >> Yeah, I I don't. Yeah. >> So, >> do you mind telling me what it means? >> Not today. >> Okay, fair enough. >> Maybe next time. And it says, >> "Maybe, maybe you'll find out through God and not through me." >> Are you spiritual, Hory? You believe in God >> by your note. I I believe in God. >> Yeah, I believe in God. Some people don't. So, I don't want to make that assumption, but I think we all believe in God. >> Um I mean, that was a nice letter that you wrote them. So, >> I mean, I just thought, you know, >> I had nothing to pay him with in the moment, but like I said, >> sometimes just someone's apology and their word is all people need, too. >> There you go. >> Making things right. >> That was my intention was not to try to repair the damage, but just to say that I'm sorry. >> You know, honestly, talking to his wife, I I think she I think you stayed the night in their house or something. Maybe just took showers. I just I just took one shower. I was going to take a shower. I took the first the first day I took a shower and this time I was going to take a shower. That's why they found me like they found, you know, it was just too like seconds, you know. >> So, you didn't stay the night then? >> No. Okay. >> No, I didn't I didn't do anything to their stuff or anything. Everything is where it's supposed to be except the guns and, you know, the safe that I took from there and and the bikes. >> And I remember I took uh the what's it called? a frying pan [clears throat] and a a frying pan and something to cook. >> Did you take a plate? A plate from their cupboard. >> The glass plate. >> I was going to use that, but I didn't take I just left it. >> Oh, >> I was going to use it for cooking. >> Okay. So, is there any of their stuff that you took on the the first time um up the road behind those rocks that you were talking to us about? >> A blanket. Just a blanket >> from their house. >> From their house. >> Okay. Okay. So, there's a blanket. >> No, the safe's a couple hundred yards up the hill, >> but it's not where the safe is at. The safe is really is nearby their house, like like 100 meters. >> So, you have a piece of paper. >> Could you just if we drew their house, could you show us where the safe would be? >> I thought about taking it back, but it's too heavy. [laughter] >> That must have been quite the trick. >> Yeah. No, that was that was tough. You know, I guess adrenaline makes you do things that otherwise you would not. >> So, I'll just do this to kind of navigate right here. So this is this is their house sits off this is that Tianway road. This is this is north. So this is their house and they have like kind of a long driveway that goes down there around some corners and this this is Ellensburg over here. >> Okay. So if you picture it like this way and let's say for example let's say this is the house real quick. So this is the house and this is the walkway in a garage. >> Mhm. >> Which is like a square. I can't really tell, but it's it's this way. >> The safest >> 100 meters. Yeah. There's a there's a road here. It's like a dirt road. Small. You go past a little trail which is right outside their property line. And it's right through here in this area. >> Okay. And this is the back of the garage. >> 50 from 50 to 100 meters. >> And that's the back of the garage right here. >> Yeah. This is the back. This is where the garage doors where I broke the garage door right here. Okay. So, it's this way, you know. And then your other spot up the road that you're talking about where you had the blanket and stuff, where where would that be at? >> That's that's further this way >> towards flip back over. >> So further further away. It's only a blanket and a tarp. >> But is it on the same side as their house or is it across the road? >> It's in the It's on the same direction >> of their house. >> But no, no, towards the garage. I mean, let's say this is the house. This is the front of the house. Uh-huh. >> This is the garage. And there's a spot right here, a jacuzzi. And they have a fire fire lodge right here. >> Fire log. >> Yep. >> And so you go past that. And this is the property line. There's a trail, little tiny trail. >> And it's this way, like 100 meters where the safe is. >> So it's past the safe about 100 meters. >> And the stuff the the place where I was staying is probably like a mile. It's further than further than a mile. Maybe like a mile and a half this way. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> So, >> that makes sense. >> It could be difficult to find, but >> this is just a blanket there. >> Okay. >> So, um All right. The next thing and I might I might just have you listen for a little bit. Is that okay? If I if I talk about a couple things. M >> um so and I I appreciate you you talking to us and our main goal um like I said these burglaries we don't you know they're not we understand your situation that you've been in so just know that okay um and I we can appreciate what was happening what We, you know, like you were surprised to find Ian's car. What we really want to know is we want to try to figure out what happened to Ian and that's why we've been looking so hard. Um, and again, just let me let me explain a little bit for him. um because uh you ended up with his with his car. And one of the things that the family remember the three people that you said that contacted you that shot at you, they uh since you don't remember the exact conversation, one of the things that they remember you saying was it's not what it looks like and you got back in the car. Do you remember saying that to them? >> No, I remember that I just Well, what was it I said to them? Like I said, I said, "Why did I even stop?" And I just kept on and I said, "Have a nice day." And I just moved on because I I I I felt that I felt as if maybe he was trying to find out something information. And I knew at that moment that the car wasn't mine. >> Okay. >> And so I thought that the owner had come back and not find his car. One thing I do remember is that one of them said, "Hey, where's that's our friend's car." And I said, "Oh man, they you know the guy knows that I took his car." So I immediately forgot to try to put the car back. >> Gotcha. >> But that's the thing is I didn't know you were. >> So were you planning on keeping his car just because you thought that you weren't? >> No. No. Like I said, man, I wasn't even going to drive it. It was only because it was a split decision because I thought, you know, well, it's a six-cylinder. If I go look for a deer, it's going to it's going to use less gas than if I take the expedition. >> So why did you take the time to peel the stickers off of his car? I found them in your vest. In your blue vest? the stickers that were on the side windows of his car, >> those were peeled off. >> Those were those were left on the car. Okay. So, those were on the car. I took to to make to to try and make like they you know, to to make it less apparent that it was someone's car. >> Okay. >> But but like I said, it wasn't it wasn't, you know, like I wasn't thinking of of anything except just trying to trying to stay on like hidden, you know. I remember that I took him I took him off because I said, "Well, if somebody sees them, they're going to recognize me. You know, I'll be driving the car." >> Okay. >> You know, and I wasn't going to drive it except because of, you know, I thought I could use it for a little bit and come back. >> Sure. >> Leave it there where I found it and just move on. >> Okay. >> But that's that's it. >> You know, everything was like like I said, like almost surreal, you know, because there was stuff that was in there. And so I immediately thought that the owner had forgot to turn the keys off or the switch off or something. He left the light on >> overnight and the next morning try to turn it on and it wouldn't turn on. So I thought maybe he went away to get some help. >> And so at that point I didn't think about it much, you know, I just like going with the moment. >> I did and I took the stuff this and that. I remember I took some gas out of the car and I said, "Oh, I hope he doesn't doesn't find me." But it turns out that you know there was people that knew the car like you know that I found out the next morning on Sunday. >> Did that surprise you when you ran into them? >> Of course I was scared. You know I was so I was scared but I was fearing for my life because like I said this guy shot fired shot at me. I thought he was the owner, you know. >> Mhm. [clears throat] >> When when the guy when the guy in the first vehicle stepped out of the car, he he was carrying a handgun on his hand. And believe it or not, I had the red I had the red hop right there next to not on me, but it was right there on the on the little compartment. >> So I thought, "Oh man, should I grab it? Should I grab After?" No. I said, "No, man. I better move on. You know, get away from these guys." And that's what I did. And if you see them, they can tell you that. You can ask what I did, you know, if I if I even did a motion, like an aggressive motion. I didn't do anything like that. I just knew that it was a dangerous situation that I needed to get away from. Well, and when you dropped the the his shotgun later on when you saw us, you weren't aggressive. >> I was out there looking for something to >> He didn't want to hurt us. He just put the shotgun down. >> I I I took off my my back and cuz I had it under my, you know, around my neck and I remember that, you know, I was looking for turkeys cuz I seen turkeys days before. And I was, "Oh, maybe I can buy me a turkey and that'll that'll give me something to eat." So I was walking around when I looked back and I see this officers and I just like immediately took it off and I ran and they were like, "Hey, stop stop." And I didn't stop, you know, because of fear or whatever. You know, you can say whatever, but I was all alone. >> And you don't you don't strike me, at least from what we've been talking about, you don't strike me as a as a violent person or someone that's wanting to hurt people. >> You can see I've been in I've been in jail, I mean know for that situation. >> Never have problems with it. Even when people are, you know, confronting me for whatever, never have problems with anybody. You can you can tell people, you know, I can tell you not, you know, that I've worked for for people over the years and, you know, I know I know how to fight, you know. I I learned karate years ago, but but I don't like fighting. You know, it makes me feel bad. It makes me feel like I don't know, it's not worth it. So that's something that I would like to just put out there for you guys. >> Can you can you understand how, you know, his family is just really concerned? I mean, if it was you, right? If that was your brother Miguel, right? You would want >> That's what you know, that's that I, you know, like I said, you know, I didn't know about, you know, because here's the thing. After that day when they chased me, I thought the owner was the guy behind the the passenger, the drivers, you know, there was this large dude, you know. I thought, "Oh man, that may be the owner." So, I didn't want to stop there and I said, "I'll I'll go as far as I can, leave his car, and then take off." That's that was my intention, you know, that honestly, >> but >> but I never saw anybody. I never I never saw this guy or anybody. >> Okay. So, Jorge, we um so we've been working on this since, you know, for a long time now. Okay. This is a part that I want you to listen to. I want to make sure you're understanding what I'm saying. So when you're saying that you saw, you know, Ian's vehicle on that Friday and then the family contacted you on Saturday, >> Jorge, >> it was a Friday. I can't remember the day, but I think it was a Sunday. >> I mean, it was a Sunday when when they when they first saw me. >> Sorry, the Sunday. >> There's other dudes or people. >> So on the the Wednesday before that, Jorge >> Mhm. you were contacted by somebody that was picking mushrooms and he saw you and the FJ cruiser on a lower landing and again just just hear me out here. >> He contacted you on a lower landing which is an area with a campfire that you we know from your GPS. Hold on just just let me talk. >> Okay. >> Um and then and then I'll let you talk when I'm done. Okay. >> So that it's an area that on your GPS unit that was tracking everything you did about every 5 minutes. It's an area that you spent time and you camped at, which is also where we found Ian's Bud Light cans that were in his car from the cooler. And then that's where Ian's vehicle was. >> That's where I found the car. That's where I found the car. Now that I remember, that's where I found the car. But the thing is, I didn't remember about the guy. You see, there was someone that said, "Hey, there's a car back." That's how I found the car that I remember now. >> Okay. cuz I had it confused that that's when they found you know I was I was taking it the Sunday I pulled it up there and that's why okay so and I remember that there was some dude on an ATV I remember and he said hey someone left a car somebody parked back there and I was parked cuz I thought that was the end of the road so now now makes now I remember this so this this guy comes in in an ATV I was in I was in a tent right there I was set up in the tent on on that landing, lower landing, and someone comes in, looks at my truck, and I go I walked over to the truck. He kept on going. I said, "Where'd you go?" Because I remember that there was bushes everywhere, you know? It's like it seemed if you go there, you can see that it seems like closed. So at some point, I think I I remember that I asked I said, "I didn't know there was a road back there or something like that." I told him, "I didn't know there kept on going." He said, "Yeah, it goes for a mile." No, quarter mile. And then I said, "Oh." I said, "Oh, well, yeah, with that thing, man, you could you can go anywhere." And I remember he was wearing a a handgun. And I was like, "Oh." I didn't want to say anything wrong, but but I he said, "I'm picking up some he look for something." And I said, he said, "There may be mushrooms." Mushroom hunters. That's what I remember now. He said, "The must there may be a mushroom hunter." I said, "I don't know. I never seen Oh, maybe campers, maybe. He said, and and I told him because he asked me, "What are you doing up here?" Said, "Well, I'm I'm getting rest, you know, I'm just getting some rest." And it was it was real. I was trying to get some rest. I was looking for actively looking for deer and for stuff to hunt. So, that's I remember that now. And the thing I didn't remember is because because of the timing, you know, the timing. I was thinking of the day that that I was found. So the day I was found, yes, I was a little bit higher up, but I had already, like I said, I I to I took the car up there and I remember it was it was a span of time, like a day or two that I that I saw there, but I I didn't go up to it. >> So what did you do after you saw that guy then? >> The what? The >> the guy that came on the ATV that >> I never saw him again. I never saw him again. I took off took drove away from there. Uh, I had my camp my my tent in there, but it was it was uh, man, I can't remember the So, yeah, I remember the car was the car was parked uh, and the at the end of that road, which I didn't know there was a road back there. Like I said, I didn't know you get done going there. And so I said, I didn't know there's a road back there. I said, yeah, it goes for a quarter mile. Somebody parked there. It must be mushroom hunters. I said, "Oh, maybe campers." And so after that, it was when I I didn't go that first day. I I took the car, my my expedition, I went back to the middle campground. >> So after he told you that, you didn't go down there. >> Well, like I said, I didn't know I didn't know there was a road. I mean, I didn't know the road kept on going. So, >> right. No, but I mean, after he told you that and he left, you didn't go back down there. >> I didn't go that day. I took away. I took off normal. I didn't think anything. Like I said, you know, I thought I was home. I curiosity that that's my I walked back up there. I saw the car and I tried to turn it on. It didn't work. And so I said, "Oh, maybe I can use my battery." So I I I went back to my expedition to grab the battery and I turned it on. I remember I turned it on. I didn't put it on there. I just turned it on. And once it was on, I saw that was that it had gas. And so I was like, "Oh man." So it was it was in that time that I remember that I took it up there towards the end of the road and I parked it there so as to so as to you know hide it the the car and so I went back from my expedition and I parked there but it was it was on it wasn't on on Wednesday. It was on a Thursday or Friday because it didn't take that long. till it's it was it was uh I think it was Thursday Thursday or Friday because it only took me about a day basically to move the car up to where it was where you guys found it and it was there that I turned it off. I remember that I turned it off. I left it there. The battery was still in the expedition and the expedition I I left it in that landing. So I walked back from the expedition. I took it up there and it was on on on Sunday. On Saturday morning, no, Sunday morning like it was early in the morning on Sunday that I drove that I decided to drive the FJ, you know, to drive it away from there. I went down and I went to Tina Roo, but it was on the weekend like on Sunday. I didn't I didn't I didn't take it anywhere except on Sunday. It was one day that I drove it. So, >> you know, from the day that I found it there where you guys were where the guy says that it wasn't, which is I remember now it was there on the landing. I fired it up leave I left the expedition there with my battery on it. The MJ was still on. You know, I I thought it was going to, you know, I thought the battery was going to charge. So, I I drove up there to the end of the road and I left it where it was right there for two days. Two days or one day or two. I I don't know that the time. And then I came back with the expedition and that's when I took the battery away from the expedition. I put it on the FJ and then I went for a hunt. >> So >> I don't remember exactly. So the car was not exactly there, but it was down further down a little bit down on the on the it was like a I don't know if it has a number or anything, but it's it's a land to landing there. It's a little trail. It seems like nobody goes through there. >> So why why did you why did you clean out all the glass from the car? No, I didn't clean it. >> Are you sure? Cuz cuz the guy he has mounted he had trail cameras in there. That's what he was doing. He was checking his cameras that he has mounted in that area. >> And that glass from the back window was like spread out all over the embankment. >> I remember that is because that's how I got into the car. I remember that. >> Okay. So, let's talk about that cuz that doesn't make sense to me. >> I I I remember that I I broke the glass because the car was locked. >> Okay. >> But the keys were inside on the ignition. >> Okay. Okay. >> So, I had no way to get in the car. >> I remember that I grabbed a rock and I broke the car. The glass. The rear glass. >> The rear glass. So, the part that you told us earlier about you saw it broken >> because I remember I cleaned the trash and the glass. So, the glass. Yeah. I remember now that that I broke the glass. >> Okay. >> To get in the car. >> So, you broke it with a rock. >> With a rock. >> Okay. >> Yeah. And then I I cleaned it. >> You didn't shoot it out or anything like that? >> What do you mean shoot it out? >> Like cuz you had like your their superhawk or >> No, no. I grab the rock and I just threw a rock like you know the moment you like oh man cuz I >> here's the thing that's when I saw the the keys were there I saw w and saw the cooler >> and I turned it on and it would still work and so I saw oh man it has gas in it. >> So you could see inside the cooler too that there was stuff in there. I know enough from the outside because it was locked. It was closed. But when I finally got in there >> and it was the sleeping bag, the cooler, the shotgun's in the front, the shotgun was in the front seat >> and uh his wallet was by in there just all was all dirty, you know, like not not too dirty, but it's kind of like muddy like like like you could see the guy didn't wash the car for a year or months or whatever. >> Do you remember what you did with the wallet? >> It must be in the truck somewhere. If if it's not there, I might might have just left somewhere. No matter if it just fell, but I remember that I took the stuff that was in there, which I thought it was valuable, you know, but I didn't use it or >> So that bag of trash that you were talking about earlier, where did you leave that bag of trash at? >> It must be up there by where the cars were. >> Where? >> Up there further up the road. >> Okay. So, not down there. >> Not down there. Yeah. >> What about the wallet? Did you toss the wallet out with the glass? >> Might have might have tossed it out >> like just over the embankment. I think I may have been carry I think I may I might still have it somewhere. It might if it's not in the clothes that I just left in the house with Mr. It must be in the expedition somewhere. >> Okay. So, it might be in the the might >> cuz I know the family would really like his wallet back probably. >> Well, I mean I >> Do you spread that? How did you just take it out with the shovel? Cuz the glass is spread out like all like a huge section >> where >> um over the embankment. Did you use a shovel to get it all out? How did you clean out the car where the FJ was parked where you said you broke the window? >> Yeah. Yeah, but that was further down. You know, if you if you check on the trails that that road, it it ends in a in a little embankment or it's a little like a parking area, like a camping area, but car was facing forward like like the rear to the back. >> Now, we're Are we talking about a different area from where the mushroom hunter found you at? >> Yeah. No, that's where the mushroom Yeah, I remember the mushroom hunter. Well, I didn't I didn't know. I never seen him before. >> Okay. Are you saying you broke the window though in that area? That's where you broke it. >> Yeah. From where? That's where I And I I only knew because of of this guy. >> And how did you clean out the car? >> The glass? >> Yeah. >> With my hands. >> Oh, just with your hands. >> You know, as much as I You know, I remember that I remember now that I broke it. I broke with a rock. >> Where were the keys at when you >> in the ignition? >> So you could see them in the ignition. >> Yeah. Yeah. That's And that's the main reason why I decided to go in there because I was like, "Oh man." So the doors were all locked and the keys were in the ignition. >> Everything was windows locked, doors locked and and the keys were in the ignition. >> Okay. >> So I tried to turn it on. It wouldn't work. It was like the battery was dead and I was like, man. So I remember I went back to the expedition. I had my jumper cables. I made turn it on and then from there I drove it away up further up to where you guys found it. >> Okay. >> I left it there for a day or two. It was if you said it was a Wednesday, it might have been a Wednesday. So for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and on Saturday is when I went back up there with the expedition to battery out with the expedition. I put it on that J and I went for that drive and I was like, man, they haven't come, you know, they haven't found it. So it was like, you know, maybe I'm still I can use it for for whatever. >> Did it look like someone was living in it? It >> it just kind of looked like it's like they used to sleep in it, but but nobody was there, you know, like >> I mean, you could see like the blankets and the seats were like down and you could see the the you know, the area where the guy was sleeping or whatever. >> The when you say the seats were down, the back seats were down. >> The back seats were like folded. >> Okay. >> And so that's what I remember. >> The back seats like folded down um forward >> towards the front seats. >> Towards the front seat. Okay. And there was blankets and stuff set out. >> There was a sleeping bag. That's what I saw. And I took it because I it was cold. It was still too cold. >> Any pads or anything like that in there with the sleeping bag? >> Not that I remember. Not that I can remember, but you know. >> So, I have this picture I want to show you, Jorge. Um because this was, you know, your GoPro. >> Oh, yeah. Yeah. That's See, that's the setup. That's where I was. See, that's my my the that's uh I set it up over there by where I was staying and it was >> the landing that we're just talking about. >> And that's that's exactly the point where the guy on the ATV came and told me, "Hey, somebody parked back there." I said, "Wait, back where?" So, I didn't know the road goes back there. Said, "Yeah, it goes for a quarter mile." So, I thought about it and I came back. Uh >> and you packed up all your stuff. >> Yeah. Pack all that stuff. I packed it up and >> and you left. >> And I left. And then you went back the next day. >> The next day to see what's going on. And that's and and there was nobody and I didn't hear see anybody. And so I open that's when I broke the glass but I didn't I didn't take it that day. I broke I tried to turn it on since it didn't turn on. I had to walk back to where the expedition was and bring bring the expedition to where the FJ was. >> And you never camped at that landing again after that, right? >> No. No. I just left. So, Jorge, I I um I'm going to set this picture down to you. Okay. >> Mhm. >> And I I really am trying to understand everything that you're telling me. Okay. >> And no, I mean, >> and I want I want to give you an opportunity to think about things that we've talked about, okay? because I know that your family and I know that you um there's probably some other things that are weighing on you and I want to give you an opportunity to to talk to us about that because this photo right here, there's things of Ian's that are inside this tent already. And there's no way that his shotgun can be inside your tent if you haven't been to the vehicle yet. >> That's what I'm saying. >> Okay, so hold on a second. >> That stuff was still that that tent was still there. I left that tent sit up for for 2 or 3 days. >> Well, you said you packed it up and you took it out. >> That picture was on Saturday. No, on Friday. >> This was 3 days after Ian went missing and the the guy doing the mushroom hunting, he came back to the area and the and this stuff was gone. So, I know you I know you packed it up and took it with you. Okay, just hear me out here. Okay. >> Yeah, I'm listening. >> Okay. I think what you just said about packing up your stuff and and taking it back, the problem is is that you already knew that Ian's car was down there because you have his stuff. And I I just want to give you just hear me out. I want to give you an opportunity because >> I think that you know more of what happened to Ian. And my personal feeling is hear me out >> is that you you didn't mean for whatever happened happened. I think there was an accident. I think that just hear me out. >> Well, yeah. I think that there was an accident and I think that there was some reactions that were made in the heat of the moment and you didn't mean to have happen. What happened? >> But I think I think that you know Hold on just a second. I know. >> Well, I want to give you an opportunity if that has happened. >> There's no way that you can have his stuff already at this point. We have the time stamp from when these were taken from your hero GoPro that you had set up. Okay. We have your We have your GPS coordinates of your track, >> so you know exactly where >> of everywhere you went. We know when Ian came to the area and we these are all your points. This is your whole path that you were taking when you were wearing it on your wrist the morning that he went missing. >> This is This is And he'll be able to fill you in here, Corey. This is from 2:00 a.m. to 3:20 a.m. in the morning that Ian went missing. Mhm. >> I think I don't think you intended whatever happened, Jorge, but we're giving you an opportunity. I can tell you right now what the family wants is they want to find Ian and they want to give him a proper burial. >> That's what they want. >> That's what I'm saying again. It's like now you're saying that that I'm responsible for >> I you you tell us. You tell us. >> I can't tell you that because I am not, you know. Well, hear me out. You're telling me like coming out of me from >> Hear me out. All right. Okay. Here's what I have. Here's what I have. Hear me out. >> Go ahead. >> Okay. I have pictures from your GoPro and from your GPS, which took very accurate GPS locations of where you were at during this time frame. Okay. I've already done you. You went to a lot of places. You went to places. >> Each picture stores the locations. Each picture stores the location. >> So, hear me out. Mhm. >> You're saying this mushroom hunter found you and told you that there was a listen. You say the mushroom hunter found you at your location and told you that there was a vehicle down at the end of the road. And what did you say tell him? Didn't even know that road was existed. Didn't know it went down that far, >> right? Yes, I did. >> Okay. Well, Jorge, I have information that says you did know exactly where that road went. You had walked down that road in April. I have that on on your GoPro. You did a little hike down that road. You GPS located where you parked the expedition. You've already been to that landing before. Way before this mushroom hunter count tells you. >> Way before Ian went missing. >> Way before Ian went missing. You already knew that area. I have it on GPS and I also have it on your GoPro. I have a film of you on the GoPro actually walking down that road to the very end. >> To the very end. >> To the very end. or hey, I have you walking this evening. I have you walking all the way up to 9738. I have you walking down the 130. I have you walking down this 180 little 180 spur where these two campsites are. This is on the night that Ian should have been here. I have you walking right into this campsite right here. Right here. This is where I have you at >> at 3:20 in the morning. 3:20 in the morning. Walk like we walk for hours, you know, looking for. >> No, Jorge, I know that you've already told us. >> You guys telling me something that that I cannot say. >> Okay, because that's that's hard. >> You're telling me something that it's completely out of the >> Okay, this is where I'm at with it. This is where we're at with it is that we know that you go around, you forge for supplies, that you need stuff. We already we've already made that basis here that you have to have necessities. You have to have food. Sometimes you need water. Sometimes you need other things. >> We already know that sometimes you have to go break into somebody's house to get some stuff. Sometimes you'll find a window open times. I can tell you that how many times have broken it was like three times. >> Okay. >> But we already know that you you're out here at 3:00 in the morning. What? You're not hunting. You're probably wandered around looking for some things. Okay. >> Wow. >> My my theory is this is what we have going on. I again I think that you're out foraging for supplies. You're trying to find some stuff. I think you come across an FJ cruiser that looks to be abandoned or that's you think is unoccupied and has some stuff in there that you need >> because he's sleeping in the back and you can't see him. >> I just think Jorge that something happened here. You didn't mean it to happen. >> You didn't want it to go this far. But guess what it did? Some encounter happened between you and Ian. thing is that >> something happened between you and Ian that you >> did not expect him. >> No, man. I can tell you honestly, man. You see, if I if I go that far back, if I go that far back in the memory, >> I may be able to to say that I found the car, not where it was, >> you know, [clears throat] but but that's that's something that you telling me that you know where I've been. It's not so much. >> So, where do you remember where do you remember seeing the car then? before before the landing where you broke at the window. Where do you remember seeing it before that? >> Might have been might have been over there. Might have somewhere in that area. >> Okay. So So this is and this is what I believe >> somewhere in that area. So honestly, if I was trying to like lie to you guys, I would say I found it after the guy, but maybe I found it down there. And >> but Jorge, if you run into somebody unexpectedly, >> this is a chance encounter. This isn't something you were seeking out to go do. Okay. This is happen chance. >> You run in. Exactly. >> I found the car. >> Right. You found the car. I was like, "Oh, man. >> What was the unexpected thing that happened here?" Ian was actually there. >> He was actually there. >> I never saw anybody in the car. That's the thing is that's why I took it because there was nobody around. >> If If you think there was somebody there, you think I would have just walked in and said, "Hey, give me your car." >> No, I don't think you I didn't. I don't think you I didn't think you >> I think you broke the window and you were shocked when he was in there. >> I think when you broke the window or whatever happened, you were shocked to find that somebody was in the car because the person Ian was in the car and he jumped up. I don't know if you know he was supposed to meet his hunting buddy at 4:00 a.m. >> 4:00 a.m. >> So, and he didn't show up. So, we know he went missing. >> Man, that's >> during during this time frame. >> You know, you guys know more than anybody. So, I just found a car and I took it for the stuff, you know, because I saw stuff in there. I was like, "Oh, man." It seems like it seemed like a gift, you know, like like someone had just left it there. >> If it was just for So, if it's just >> kind of, you know, or if it's just the car and you have people out in the woods stopping you saying, "That's our buddy's car. Why did you not just get out of the car? Why didn't you just drive the car down the road 200 yards, hop out, leave the car, and take off into the woods like you did with us a time?" >> They were chasing. No, before that this this happened like a week before those people were chasing you. If you if you're saying that you found the car down lower, did did you break the window down here or up top on the landing? >> Where did you break the window at now that you're remembering all this? >> It was It was at night. It was at night. So I think I think it was there. >> Okay. >> Down lower there. >> Down lower here. >> The car was the car was locked. you know that I I picked in I peaked in there was nobody but there was this the stuff the cooler and I saw the keys in there and I was like oh man so I looked around there was nobody right so I took it >> okay so if you broke the window down there and then then you did you take the car that day up to the top or did you leave it down here >> it was I was walking that day I was walking that night in the morning and I found it that's when I found it >> okay >> and it was a split moment decision I broke the glass and I took Okay. And where did you take it? Did you take it that night? Then >> it what night? >> The night that you broke the window? That morning? >> Early morning. Early morning, >> I think. So >> you took it that morning immediately. And >> there was nobody. So I thought maybe if there's somebody going to come back me and I remember that I went up to that road and uh I took it up there. I left >> to the landing. >> To the landing. >> Okay. I w I walked back for days and nobody nobody was there. Nobody found it. So I at that point I thought, well, maybe like I said, maybe someone just left it. So the landing up there, when did you decide to clean it out, the glass out? >> So you brought it up there that morning and you left it up there? >> Glass I cleaned it up there where you guys found it, but I I I remember there was it was mostly big pieces like I I sweeped everything out and I just put it in the bag. Like the bag was I left it there and just right by the car. But the thing is days went by and I didn't touch like I didn't I I didn't drove the car. >> But I mean the morning shot. >> Yeah. >> The one I took off. Okay. So, now we're getting closer to the truth. So, now we have This is why you have This is This is Ian's tent, right? >> No, that was in That was in in the car. I remember that, but everything I left it there. I mean, I don't think any of that. >> So, this is Ian's tent and his shotgun. >> That little blanket. The green blanket. That I think that was his. >> Which was >> I think that was his his blanket. >> Yep. That blanket >> and the green sleeping bag. >> Okay. >> And shotgun. >> Not his boot. >> That's a shotgun. And that's my pack. >> That's your pack, right? That's yours, right? This water jug. >> This one I found in that one cabin that you told me that you showed me. >> The little cabin. >> Yeah. >> Oh, okay. So, >> it was on the outside like somebody left in the by the deck. >> Okay. This is Ian's bag. And then these are your shoes. >> Those are those boots. Those are mine. >> What's this thing? >> What's >> this thing in the picture? >> Might have been something that where where the GoPro was standing on. >> Okay. Oh, I think it was the I think it was one of those uh frying pans. Not frying pans, but casserles. I just turned it turn flipped it over. >> Yeah. Okay. >> And I just put my GoPro on top. >> So, just go back. Let's back up. >> So, the morning at 3:00 in the morning or early in the morning. >> Yeah. Yeah. That's >> okay. You get the car, you break the window, you take it up to the landing where we where the broken glass is. You leave it there where the where the mushroom hunter found that landing. >> You leave it there. You're saying for a couple days. >> They will suspend. Yeah. Was it from the from the Wednesday or what day was that? You said >> Well, it's got to be pretty close cuz you go back and you get this stuff out. >> It was somewhere. It was from there. It was immediately that night. That's where I dropped it off. >> The car I dropped it. I dropped it off. I backed it up because the rear glass was already, you know, I broke it. So, okay. Like maybe they won't recognize it. So, I just left it there for days, you know, >> like days or two days. >> Like I can't remember even the day. >> It was days, many days. Like it was Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and on Saturday. Saturday night to Sunday morning. That's when I went for the car. >> But when did you take the stuff out? >> The next day. That next that next day or the next the next morning. >> Okay. So, you take the car early in the morning. You bus out the window. >> 4 like 3 3:30 3:30 in the morning. It was early in the morning. >> So, 3:30 in the morning that happens and you take it up to the landing where the mushroom [clears throat] hunter you left it there. Did you clean out the broken glass that day or did you clean it out in a couple days? >> It was uh it was the next morning. >> Okay. So then you bring it up there and you leave it and then the next morning you go and clean out the glass. >> Yeah, that's when I took this stuff >> and you take all this stuff, >> the shotgun and the blanket and that stuff. >> Okay. The next day. And then you leave it up there. >> The car will stay there. >> You just stay there until the mushroom hunter when he >> until he went Yeah. until he went he went past the my this tent. >> Okay. So, in the meantime, you've taken the stuff out of of Ian's car the next day, and now you've set it up, and you're using this stuff in the car. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> So, it was it wasn't much. Like, I'm telling you, it was the tent, the the tent, the m inflatable mattress, the blanket, the sleeping bag, and the shotgun. >> The inflatable mattress, was that in a box? >> No, it was it was just laying there. Laying there. >> Okay. >> I think it was inside a bag or a trash bag or something. I didn't even know that that it was good. I thought it was broken, but it's still I used it for a couple of I I I slept there three two nights and then I went back to sleeping in the expedition down at the down at the mineral spring campground. >> Okay. So, when the mushroom hunter guy saw you, you eventually moved the car up to the top where we found >> I think it was that day earlier earlier that day or after after this picture. Not before this picture. I remember. >> But after the mushroom hunter saw you, then you moved the FJ Cruiser. So you knew it was back there. You put it up there. >> I remember that because I I thought, well, maybe they're they're going to he's going to probably say something to someone, the owner, and they're going to come find it. So I went up further. >> So that's why you didn't tell us that. >> Yeah. >> And that's why you didn't tell him that cuz you didn't want him to put you with that vehicle. It makes sense. >> Exactly. So like I wouldn't say his name. See, whoever that guy was, [clears throat] he may he may work for the police or I don't know if he does or not, but if if if like I wouldn't ride on someone. I wouldn't say, "Hey, I saw somebody." >> I don't know if the guy I don't know if the guy in the ATV knew the guy or saw the guy. >> Mhm. [clears throat] >> Mhm. >> You know, >> so after he leaves, you move the FJ Cruiser up to that landing that day or the next day? >> I'm sorry. Can you say >> after he leaves and says, "Hey, >> after he leaves, >> what do you do?" >> That's when I I I got the expedition. I went I jump started it. Wait, you packed up this stuff, right? >> That same day? >> Yeah, >> I packed up. I put it in the expedition. I went I jump started. I left the expedition there >> for hours, maybe. I don't I don't know if it was a day or hours. I left the expedition there. And maybe that's why you have the camera or the the location. >> Mhm. >> I took the FJ up there. I was looking for a for for a spot to put it to hide it, you know, just I wouldn't find it. And I went back. I grabbed the expedition and I went back to the campground. And it was until Saturday night. Saturday night. Yeah. Like around 12 or 1 in the morning that I I went and got the FJ and I took the expedition up there because it was too far. You know, I would have walked back because it's too far. And I didn't want to carry the battery with me because it was too heavy. I grabbed the expedition. I went back up there. I fire it up again. At that point, I said, "Well, if it turns off on me, wherever I go, it might may not be able to turn it back on." And I don't want, you know, people to find it or police find it because, you know, it I knew it was it was the wrong thing to do. But that's the thing I remember now. And that's basically what happened. I took it to the landing. I left it there for days. The mushroom hunter came and then that very day I packed up everything and I was I moved the cart further up and I left it there for another day or two. And it was until the Saturday night to to the Sunday morning that I went for it and I went for that hunt drive. And it was on Sunday morning when I f saw these people, these individuals. I don't know. They look like police officers, but I don't know. And they say, "Oh, that's that's our friend's car." You know, >> let me ask you this, Ry. You probably know these woods better than any >> No, not not really. I mean, I've been there a few times, but >> No, I would I would argue that you know these woods probably better than any of us. >> Okay. >> Okay. I would you agree with that? >> I would agree with that. >> Okay. You're very wellversed without out here. Okay. If we were looking cuz I feel like if you weren't responsible for what happened to Ian, you would want him to be found, right? For his family >> or was it even me, you know? Do you guys think it was easy for me to be out there? Like I said, you know, bears, even bears chased me like chasing because maybe they thought I was bringing, you know, whatever. Maybe they saw me as food or whatever. >> Yeah. I mean, >> for whatever reason, I'm lucky to be alive myself. >> Your brother Miguel, he would want to bury you, right? Exactly. >> Okay. So, Ian has a daughter and she would like to bury her father. >> You know, I like I said, I never saw him, but I saw his ID. I saw his driver's license. I I saw that, you know, it was a person. >> He has a daughter. He was also has a new grandbaby. And they they would like to have a service for him. Um the more time that goes on, the that makes it less possible for us to be able to do that. And because you know of the woods, >> tell me where do you think that he could be? Did you find him? And you don't want to tell us because >> Oh, no, ma'am. I can tell you one thing. >> Okay. >> There's there's a lot of people going in there that did damage. No, I mean that you could feel it that, you know, they they w they drove in there to do, you know, whatever. Drink, get high, or do whatever. >> Mhm. >> You know, I can tell you that I saw uh vehicles like a black pickup Ford F-150 with a bumper on it that looked like a police vehicle, but it wasn't. that would just come and dump bunch of trash bags and and gallons of something that it looked like water, but I mean stuff like that, you know. There was another guy on uh Dodge intrepid red. It was a white guy. I'm not going to say names. I don't I don't know the names, but like I can describe people, you know, things >> individuals that I saw coming in to do bad things, >> you know. >> So, are those places that you >> see my laptop, you see what I did, you know, the things that I used to go and do over there. So, we've got, >> believe it or not, I even felt I even felt pressure from those people at night because maybe they thought that I was like a some kind of officer or some kind of agent. And so, me me staying in that area, it was it was getting hard. It was getting difficult for myself, for my own safety. >> And it could be that you saw something that you're not even aware that you saw, Jorge, that could tell us to where Ian is. So, let me ask you this. These areas that you're saying that you saw these people that are some shady people Do you see that's where the 130 starts and there's an entrance right here? That's where that's where I found the FJ. There was a car, a red intrepid bar right here. The guy had a cigarette on his mouth. Kind of look thuggish like straight up. >> But but you know these areas, right? >> What I'm wondering is if would you be willing to take us to some of these areas that you think that maybe that you've seen cars that if they were that his body could be somewhere? >> Man, that that's a hard one for me because I never been to a situation like this. You know, I've been through a lot of things. >> But this is finding someone so they can have a proper burial. >> That's fine. I understand that. But >> I mean, and you know the woods. You know the woods better than we do. Like you could take us to this area and say, "You know what? I saw cars in this area. I saw cars in this area." >> That's one thing I can tell you in this entrance right here. I saw a red car, a trap, dodging trap. It kind of like old, you know, it wasn't brand new, but the guy looked at me and I just felt like he was some something like like he was bad person, you know, like a gangster. >> Do you think they would have buried Ian somewhere in here? >> I would not I would not go that far, man, because I don't know. But I can tell you this, there's there's many people and that's why I had those c the little camera and I had another one closer to my truck just so that I would whenever I walked away so that I would know who who came close to my property. >> And where are you describing this is that road that you're talking about. >> So if you go if you go on 130 >> and you go up here up around this area is where the campground is. So it goes a couple of turns and there's the entrance >> to Mineral Springs >> to Mineral Springs but but the upper side not not where the camp not where the campsites are. is in little forest. There's a little tiny cabin here, like a forest service cabin, which is abandoned. >> That's where I found those silver coins that I told you about. >> Okay. >> Days before, like weeks before. >> And in that in this little entrance here alone, I I counted like three or four suspicious vehicles, you know, the ex the the the the F-150, the black F-150 that had a bumper like uh you know, those those you know those things. >> So, is that an area that you could take us to? >> Absolutely. to show us where those vehicles were. >> I can even show you where I where me personally I I did a little entrance to where I could hide my expedition just to be a little safer, you know, away from people's view and sight because of, you know, whatever. And that was days before, weeks before I even saw when I when days before I found the car. So that's why I can tell you and I can show you the places and I can show you if I still if you guys still have those cameras, they may still be pictures of all the vehicles that came in and out. doing that time lapse. >> Do you think that you'd be able to take us to those areas where I mean, are are you thinking that maybe these cars had something to do with >> I'm not saying that, man. Like I say, like all I'm saying is I was not the only person there by a [clears throat] long shot. You know, I was there for because of the place because I had all my stuff in there and I was doing the prospecting. I was doing hunting. I was trying to, you know, find some mushrooms. I even I even found some mushrooms and stuff like that. But I never I never came across any people's way or or in any way. And there's all the people there's, for example, let me tell you something. There's uh see that's the thing is people come in and people say hi, people wave or people whatever. But there was this this couple that just came in and say hi. Hey, this and that. And you know, it was a little weird, but they said this on their truck. It said Rocky Mountain something. Rocky Mountain something. And I was like, they walk up to me. I was making coffee and uh and they surprised me. You know, the both of them they kind of scared me. I was like, "Hey, how you doing? How you guys doing? What's going on?" And they were very close. Like I didn't know they were it seemed like they were trying to find out what I was doing. So I just said, "Well, I'm getting I'm getting some rest. I'm just making some coffee. It was like 9:30, 10 in the morning. I just waking up." And so it was like brief interaction. But there was like I this is I'm just giving an example of the people I go in and and like that people a lot of people you know that I didn't talk with that I didn't interact with because I didn't want to have any issues or any problems with anybody. So basically I remember that I asked this person if he had a business card. Hey, do you have a business card? Because you know he it seemed like they were checking on people like what people were doing. And so they kind of gave me a little scared like I wasn't expecting to see anybody. So I asked him for a business card and you know they they he said he didn't have any. I said, "Okay, well that's fine." You know, as long as you guys are safe, you guys official. Yeah, they're watching. Okay, fine. You know, they went away and I went back to the truck and I pulled out and I I I drove off. You know, I didn't I didn't see them again or anything. But like I'm saying is what I'm trying to say is many people went in and out of that place. people that that I would have been like fearful or just, you know, trying to get my distance away. >> And these are areas that you'd be willing to if we if we got some clothes that we'd go drive to. >> It's all it's all right there in the campground. We can I could we can go any day, tomorrow, today, anything. And I'll show you where like my camera was, where the other, you know, the area that I was just trying to like stay safe, you know, >> to protect, you know, to to keep give me a little freedom. But we talked about we talked about the the Red Hawk, right? And you say you had found that in the woods. We eventually came back around and you said exactly where you did find it. >> The what? >> The Red Hawk. >> No, the Red Hawk. I didn't find it outside in the woods. >> Right. Now, listen, I'm just telling you, I'm giving you a recap of our conversation. What's been going on in here? >> Yeah. Yeah. Lot of lot of this, lot of that. All the information. >> I get it. But we start there, right? Okay. And initially it's found in the woods. Then we kind of go around this little uh Q&A that we have for a little bit and then suddenly the truth comes out that it was actually found at Mr. Doll's residence. >> Okay. Mr. >> Mr. Doll's residence. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> Right. >> Okay. It's something I know that there's a lot of these things that are could be difficult for you to wrap your head around. There's a lot of >> days many days has been. No, I I and I get it. I get it. There could be some stuff that's cloudy, but these facts, they don't dispute themselves. I already know that, like I was telling you before, that you're a forager. You're out there looking for your supplies. That's the stuff you need to live. If you're going to remain in the woods, you have to have stuff. Okay? And >> and you can't haul a lot around on your back. We already know this. So, you have to go for these supply runs. And sometimes these supply runs are occurring very late at night or very early in the mornings. I know that you're on a supply run that night. I know that you went down to the Mineral Springs store. I know that you went down there and checked the dumpster. I know everywhere that you went that night, Jorge. >> Well, there you go, man. You can see that you >> I can see I can definitely see. Here's where the discrepancy is coming in or is I believe that you did break that back window with the rock and I think you did right. I'm not going to lie to you. Right. >> They will not recognize me because >> but again that's Listen, >> initially you said that you found the FJ after somebody told you he was parked at the end of the landing and that was not true. >> Well, like I said, >> that was not accurate. It was not It was not accurate. >> It was accurate. So, but it's accurate is that I found it >> right >> right here by the >> which I didn't know where it was because it was at night. >> This is 9738 and 13. You've been going up and down this quite a bit. Quite a bit before you enter. >> That's because that's the only way into where I was. >> It is. I'm just saying you're familiar with the area. Night or day. You know where you're at >> in that area. >> I can tell you the only thing I can tell you is that this area I did not go into those camping grounds or camp spots often. >> No. Because it was all people. >> But on the morning that there you did. >> You did go into that campsite. You found his FJ. You broke the back window with a rock. I don't believe that you thought anybody was in that rig. Just like your stadium now. Just like your stadium now. >> Nobody was in there. I didn't see anybody in there. I saw the keys in the ignition. I broke the back one with a lock with a rock. I believe that. >> I think what we're what we're missing because >> what we're missing, Jorge, got to listen. >> Got to listen. What we're missing here is the fact that Ian was in that vehicle. He was sleeping in the back of it. He was camping right in the back of it. Here's what I believe. I think it startled the hell out of him that his back window just got broken out. I think he reacted which caused a reaction on your side. I don't think this was a this was some sort of per purposeful thing that happened out here. This is a chance encounter. You're looking for one thing, not knowing that this that he's actually sleeping inside the rig. Jorge, >> he's in the rig. He's asleep. You break the back window. It wakes him up. No, man. That's what I'm telling you. That's why I'm trying to make you guys understand that there was nobody there. Like, you think I would have tried to grab stuff just like that? No. You You broke into the brick. Have you looked through those windows? >> Because there was nobody in there. >> Did you look through the windows? >> Of course. You know, >> right? How dark are those windows? >> You you can see Well, the back window was dark, but the ones in the front, you could see them. They're they're clear, >> right? And the seats are folded down. There's no sleeping bags in there. >> But there was nobody in there. That is the reason why I took the the broke the glass because I said, "Well, this is a chance, you know. I can grab some food and this and that." There was nobody in there, man. I can tell you that. And I We can walk there as as many miles as you guys can. I can keep up with you. Whatever. Whoever wants to walk left and right, up or down, anywhere. I can tell you that. There was nobody in the car. That's the reason I took it. That's the reason I broke the glass and took the car because there's nobody in there. And if you want is not I mean yes you can believe anything you want. I got you guys can see you guys can see in those in that in that in that laptop you can see more than than a lot of people have known about me. >> That's true. And so there you go. You tell me you come up to me. Okay. I can take your information. >> Right. >> But that's that's a long shot. >> No. And and Jorge, I'm not in any way, shape, or form saying that you're some sort of bad guy. It's cuz the things that are on the table are are delicate. You know, >> they are. They're very delicate. And you have to understand for whatever, you know, I took the car. Yeah, sure. Give me 5 years. I'll I'll go because I broke the I took the property and the other properties and the other property and whatever you put it together. If it's 10, 20 years, I can go for that. >> All right. >> But what do you people here? That's that's a very far long shot, man. >> Okay. Tom, >> understand my position. Jorge. >> No, man. >> You're found with all of his stuff. You're found with his Come on. >> Of course, the stuff was in the car. >> Okay. But what am I going to do? All I'm saying is you have to understand where I'm coming from. >> Somebody Hey, here. Take the stuff. No, I'm the only one. But, you know, come on. Okay. Is the stuff in there. I took it because I needed the stuff. You know, there was a little bit of food. There was a little bit of gas. There was a little bit of money. So, I took it because there was nobody there. Okay. And now you telling me I never saw the guy. But do you think it was it didn't even surprise me to see the keys in the wallet and this and that? It surprised like like you wouldn't believe. I thought it was like a gift from from someone like like God. And I took I was like, "Oh man, is this real?" >> There you go. You think about it. Look at the end. Look at what I got. >> I will I will There you go. >> And I I've been going over and I'll keep going over. >> It's a little It's a little There's >> It's a little hard, man, because I never been in a situation like this in my life. I never will. >> And there are hard questions that I have to ask. And this is not an easy situation to get through, >> man. Okay. But I have to ask the hard questions. We do. We have to because we have a family out there looking for a loved one. >> I know that. >> Okay. So, the hard questions. I have a family. I have a lot lot of sisters. A lot of >> the hard questions. The hard questions are coming. And we do. We deal with them as they come. All right. It's part of our job. >> I'm going to need some I'm going to need a little break, man. Because like right now, you you're coming up with all this stuff, man. This is this is not something that I come across every day. This has never happened to me in my You can see my record. >> Okay. See, I broken into I broke I broke into a car last year because I was on the street. People were chasing me, you know, bad people in the city. I had nowhere to hide. >> Okay. And this and that and I you know, >> let's take a break then. All right. >> That's a different story. >> Okay. Let's take a break. Okay. We're going to take five. >> Do you want? >> Sure. Okay. I appreciate it. >> We're going to take five minutes. Appreciate it. >> Hey, really quick before the break. Um, >> man, that's >> I know. Hey, Ian had a compound bow in that car. Did you see that? >> No. Like a bow? >> No, man. There was no bow. >> There was no bow. >> No. I I was the one that had a natural bow. >> Okay. >> Like a wooden bow and some arrows. >> Okay. >> Like a you know made out of wood >> and I had it hang on the side of the truck on the expedition. But that was mine. >> Was that yours or was that from uh the cabin where the black powder rifles were? >> Actually, yes. That's where the Yeah, that's >> it was yours now, but it used to be somebody else's. >> No, no, it's his. what I said it wasn't it wasn't Ian you know I didn't see any bow when Ian struggle they struck the MJ >> okay >> like I said >> you know >> so um >> man that's that's that's hard >> you know I don't know what happened that night but I do know that [clears throat] >> I was listening to I was listening to uh Matt talk to you a little bit and >> you know if you did break the window and it startled him >> I remembered But no, there was nobody in there, man. >> No, but just listen. If you if you did startle him up >> and like I don't know if he was armed, if he had a gun or anything in the car, >> but you know, >> the shotgun was in the passenger than the drivers on the passenger side like like just lifting like that. >> But you know that if >> that was one of the first things that I saw there, >> but you know if he reached and grabbed for it and you felt threatened, you know that that would be >> the gun was over there. >> But you know that that would be self-defense though, right? >> That's what I'm saying. Like you break into a car and you startle the person that's in there. >> For me, I figured that if somebody's there, I would I would just walked away. If there's somebody sleeping there, I mean, come on. That's >> I'm just saying if you shot somebody back, right? That would be self-defense. Do you know what that means? Like if you if someone if if someone what that Do you know what that means? I'm trying to explain what that means. So, like if you come to let's say I have a car >> and you come to steal it from me or whatever, >> of course you you have your right to defend your property. No, it's a self-defense, >> right? But if you ended up shooting me back because you're scared now, right? Then that's self-defense. That's what I'm saying. >> That's not something I would do. Okay. But I'm just saying a lot of things you you can look at my record and you can blame me on many things. Anything you want. You know, like I told Matt, if you say that I'm I'm about to spend 20 years for whatever the property that I took, fine. Give me those 20 years. Give it whatever you think is fair. But going as far as saying that I did something harm to someone else, that's that's that's a whole other story or another ball game like you guys say. did um >> and for that that that's something that I would not be willing to talk with you guys any further or say this or that without any further information because it seems like you guys know a lot. >> Did his car smell at all funny? >> Well, it smell smell of marijuana and cigarettes and I I can tell you there was one can of beer can open. It was like not even halfway. It was on It was on the on the driver's side. And what did you do with that? >> I I dump I dumped it. >> Okay. [clears throat] >> Drink it >> down by the creek where you found the car? >> No, later. It was later later after. >> What about Was there any marijuana in the car? >> It was there was marijuana. >> Like can you describe that to me? Like where it was? >> Well, there was this little pipe glass pipe there and it seemed to be like he somebody had smoke and been smoking recently because you could still smell it. It was in there. Have you smoked marijuana before? >> Personally, yeah. >> So, you knew what the smell was? Of >> course. Yeah. I'm not going to lie to you. >> No, I don't. And I don't care. It's legal. I don't care if you mean is that there was there was somebody was somebody had been smoking recently within hours maybe. >> Okay. >> There was cigarettes. There was a pack of cigar open pack of cigarettes which I smoked a few and I dumped the rest because I didn't like it. I don't know. I I felt ill like it it made me feel ill. So, I just dumped the rest. And uh the cooler, the blankets, papers. >> Did it look like I know I know you What were the papers? >> Just like flyers, stuff like construction stuff. I don't know. >> And where'd you put that stuff at? >> Mostly I just put it in the in a trash bag. Like in a trash bag. And I I don't know exactly if I tossed it somewhere like left it there. I think I left it where it was clean. I'm not even sure where he is to be honest with me. But if you >> Was it a trash bag from Ian's car or was that >> It was in there. It was in there. >> Okay. >> It was It was in the backseat of It It seemed like he already put some garbage in like papers and cans and some like soda cans. >> But you don't remember where you left that garbage bag? >> I couldn't tell you for sure, man. I think it was either on the either by the first place where where the car where the mushroom hunter found it. >> Mhm. >> And or some up up higher. I can't remember. where we found it eventually that night when we contacted you or when you ran from us that night. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Is there other locations that you had the FJ cruiser? >> No. No. No. >> Are you sure? >> No, I can tell you. >> We're not going to find any other trail cameras with it on >> from that from the from where I broke the glass. Was it early in the morning? 3 3 I don't know. 3:00 or 4 in the morning. Broke the glass. I went in there and I took it over to the to the landing where where the mushroom hunter told me that he's found it and I was like I took it away from there. I took it further up and I left it there for another day or two till Saturday Saturday night. That's when I came back and I I came back on the expedition because it was too far. >> Mhm. >> So I I left the expedition there, grabbed what I needed. I put it on the FJ. I drove down towards Stinaway River looking for deer, which I didn't find any. I was I was on my I was on my way back when I saw this people this this which they say that was my friend's car and the and the guy walked out and he fired shot me and so I thought that was the owner. I just I just took call. >> What about the case of uh Cola that was in the car? I think you took that from a campsite a couple nights before in the middle of the night. No, >> there was a guy at the top of the night. >> That was that morning. That was that morning. >> That morning? >> Yes. Because I didn't have anything to drink. I was I came across this this campground and I saw this box. I took it. But >> well, when you say that morning, the morning the people contacted me >> on Sunday morning. On Sunday morning, like early like at 6:30, 7. >> So that coat came from his campsite. >> Yeah. I only took like two or three, you know, because I was thirsty. >> Mhm. Is there other campsites that you've taken stuff from? >> No. So the where the um where you broke the window at on the FJ cruiser J >> there was a a tent stolen from there a couple days after we started looking for you and I think you >> that night that was that night the night that the helicopters came on a Sunday evening >> uh I didn't see anybody till when I the tent was even folded down like >> it was on the ground like it wasn't put up you know it was it was split it was opened up but it >> and it seemed like it was taken down by somebody like maybe they took it down for some reason in a >> bear with me here. >> Mhm. Oh yeah. Yeah. I see that turn. >> So this is the 9738 road. You come up here. This is the 130 road at the end of 13. >> And then it and then it turns up here and then there's like a camping area right here. And this goes at the mountain. Right. >> And yeah, that's the tent. Here it becomes 131. >> Okay. And this is when the helicopters when we were looking for you that night, this is the tent you took that night. >> That's the little tent. >> And a couple nights later, the same road that you first contacted Ian's car at the I think it's the 180 spur. There's like a little creek along here. And the campground that Ian was at was it had these little stairs um that go into the creek right there. His car was one of these camp. Was it in a campground or just on the road in there >> when you broke the window? >> It was right there by where you where you pretty much where I couldn't tell exactly because it was dark, but it was in that area. >> But it was it like just walking down the road and it's parked on the road or was it pulled into one of the spots? >> I think it was pulled in spots >> on the left or the right. >> It was next to the creek by >> next to the creek. Okay. So, a couple days later after this tent was taken right here. >> Mhm. There's another tent that was set up. That was me. That was me. I s I can promise you that wasn't me. I was not even in that area by then. I was on far way back like miles that way towards towards the west. >> So after you took this tent, >> then you hunkered down for the night and then you event for how many nights? >> Like two nights I think. >> Two nights in this tent. >> And I wasn't using the tent. I just had it in case I I would need it. Okay. >> You know, cuz if you know in case it rained. >> And then you went to that for service cabin and took up shelter in that cabin for a couple days. It was not even a day, a couple hours, and I had to go back way into the woods past the medicine creek, which is further this way >> or that way in this way. >> Mhm. >> And that's that's where I was trying to heal my leg because I cut my leg open. It was really bad. Like I couldn't move my foot, you know, like if I try to walk, it would hurt. Like I couldn't walk. >> So I was there for two days. >> Can I can I ask you one thing? I you and it it might be a little insignificant, but >> No, no, it's fine. Go You know, before you talked about the Ruger the or the >> the Red Hawk. >> The Red Hawk. >> And that first you said you found it in the woods. No, >> I know. I know. You remembered that you found it at Doll's house. >> Yeah. >> So, I was just I was going to ask you though >> those um those those coins. >> Yeah. >> That Are you sure that Nancy didn't give you those coins? >> No. >> You're positive? >> No. Yeah. No, I'm positive. >> Think about it because >> No, man. I think those coins may have came from You might be confused cuz um I think Nancy may maybe those were in the expedition um when you had you're for sure you found those in the cabin. >> I found those metal detecting. >> Okay. >> I I can tell you that. >> Was there anything else that Nancy gave you? >> Some food. >> Some food. >> A hat. A cowboy hat. >> That cowboy hat. >> Yeah, here for the rain. like, >> you know, she was I mean it was brief and and I can tell you that she was she was it seemed like she was sick, you know, like she had she was she's sneezed >> quite a few times and more than a few times actually and she was like blowing. >> What did you fix for her again? >> It was the bathroom. Not not the toilet, the sink. >> The downstairs bathroom or upstairs? >> The toilet. The toilet valve was turned off. So somebody had turned it off and it wasn't working because all I had to do is turn it back on. >> But was it downstairs or upstairs? >> It was downstairs. Okay. Okay. >> And I remember that she I said I told her I didn't have any tools and then she said, "Oh, I'll get some tools." And she grabbed a little duffel bag. >> M >> and that's I used the little pliers to fix to make it work. It didn't took me like it took me like an hour, maybe less than an hour. >> All right. Well, I just wanted to ask you about those coins cuz I I I thought those were maybe in the expedition or from from her house. >> She had some pictures of coins. So >> Well, no. I can tell you. >> Yeah. Well, if you if you remember that in a couple minutes, if it comes back to you, let me know because I'm sure the pictures that she has are going to match the coins that we have maybe. So, that's why I'm asking you cuz I don't want to I don't want it to be a discrepancy if you think it's possible that they came from there. >> No, no, no. Those Especially the silver the silver there was another silver dollar from the 67. I think it looked brand new. >> Mhm. >> Cuz it was it was inside this little pouch. >> But that wasn't part of the money she gave you. >> No. No. No, no, that's that was in the cabin. And you know, it's interesting because >> in the cabin when I first got there, there was there was nothing in there. It's still nothing in there, but there was this plywood and on top of that plywood, there was a stove, rusty old stove, >> like somebody else had been in there. It's >> like somebody had been living there, you know? So, but it was it was odd because it didn't it didn't it didn't uh line up with the vent. It's awesome. >> So, we found a lantern there and some a tarp. That's all your stuff. >> I guess because I was, like I said, I slept there for like not weeks, but on and off during a period of weeks. >> And where did all that come from? >> That lamp, the rechargeable lamp. >> Yeah, it's like a red lantern. I think that might have came out from the from from where the muscle loaders cabin. >> Okay. The black cat ones. >> Yeah, I think so. >> Okay. [clears throat] And Doll doll's cabin you said with the red red hawk. What else did you take from there? >> Nothing except food. Just the red and the gun. Yeah. And some bottle some bottled water like cherry flavor or something. >> And a bunch of ammunition was taken in all this. Did you happen to you shot the guns out in the woods, right? But you never did. I had ammunition, but not for every not for everything. You see, I have the 50 cal, the the muscle loaders, and the 44. >> Did you shoot some of those up there? >> No, because I didn't have like the 3030s. I didn't have any of that. >> No, I mean the the ones that you did have ammo for. Did you shoot? >> Oh, the muscle loaders. Yes. I even had videos of the 50 cal, you know, because it was funny, you know. I didn't know how to load them up. I had to, you know, learn, you know, just figure it out. >> Mhm. You know, you put the powder, you put the ball, and then you tuck it in, and you put a little piece of cloth to hold it in the the shot so that in case you lean it over, it doesn't fall off. So, >> and you put the little cap on to make it fire >> the Did you the 44? Did you shoot that out there like at target? >> I shot I shot three I think three shots, but it was like like for fun, you know, to see. It was loud. It was It was so uncomfortable. I didn't want to shoot it again. And I remember I put I saved one of those shells and I left it in that container where those coins were. And it was I found a couple of the pennies, you know, like Indian head pennies. >> Wait, where did you leave it? >> It was in a little container. Did you It's probably in there >> in the expedition. Yeah. >> What's it look like? >> It's a glass. It's like a plastic thing with a cap on it. >> Okay. >> It's a rusty cap. And it was a grasshopper, some Indian pennies, and I had that as a measurement for the 50 caliber small trapper. See, >> that was my measure to know how much powder to put in the shot each time. >> Okay. And you left the casing in there. >> Yeah. But you know, just as a measure, >> the measure to to I would fill that in all the way to the top and then I would put it on the gun on the 50 on the trapper >> which I hope is back to the owner. But that thing >> and that would tell me how much powder to put in each time for each shot. >> Cuz I know that uh there's a container in there like a plastic container with a dead hummingbird in it. Is that the >> No, that was a different I found that hummingbird, you But I didn't touch the hummingbird and I thought about it and if people find it, I found it laying on the ground. I've never heard of a hummingbird or anything like that. >> I picked it up and I was I was so in awe and I was I didn't want to toss it. I was I thought about >> I But you're talking about a different container though. >> Yeah, that was a little bigger container. There's a smaller one, thinner one with some head pennies like Indian head pennies which are like from 1920 19 I mean all pennies that I found metal detecting >> not not in the campground but different different areas you know over the period of month like not months but like yeah maybe a few months. >> So that was basically what I had you know if you if you if you I mean if you realize it is it's the stuff that that came across my way you know that's how I want to put it. you your phone that's up there at the the Ganos. What what kind is it? So I can tell them to look for it plugged in where? >> It's an LG LG. >> Just an LG LG smartphone which is almost broken because I stumbled on the ground so many times that the you know the screen just cracked. >> Okay. And you said Ian's wallet might be there. >> It might it might be. But no, but that I don't remember seeing that wallet after that night because I remember I took everything. I I might have put it in the trash bag or somewhere. Maybe just tossed it. >> So I cannot tell you where it is. >> So you took everything and put it in your wallet. >> You know the cards, you know, in the ID >> because I didn't want to be found, you know, whatever. I was like at that point I was like, man, >> how much money did he have on him? >> It was $21, $22 actually. >> And what did you do with that money? >> I went to Safeway in Clean. I bought me bacon, eggs, and some stuff like I think it was coffee and sugar. that very next day or when did you do that? >> Almost on Thursday. >> So after the mushroom hunter? >> You can probably see it on the on the on the video. Like you probably see it on the camera. >> Okay. >> I went I load out some gas >> and I went to the to the Safeway. >> Got some food and I headed back. >> Was it after the mushroom hunter though? >> Yeah, >> after the mushroom. >> After the mushroom. >> Okay. >> Yeah, right after that. >> It was in one of those days. I can't remember exactly the day because so many days have passed. Mhm. >> Did you use his cards for anything? >> No. No. >> Okay. >> And you never saw his phone? >> Never saw a phone. And I never saw him. I like I said, you know, that's the that's the main reason at that date that I took this stuff because I was like, man, there's nobody. No, man. A little little window of opportunity. I said, I'll take it. >> So, what are you charging your phone for, Jorge? >> I was charging it so that I could know which way to go, like not to get too lost. >> Oh. Oh, cuz I still had the maps, not the Google maps, but I had offline maps that I would just look and see where basically, you know, would give me not a very accurate location, but kind of accurate, you know, >> through Do you need internet for that? >> No, he just had offline maps. >> Offline. It's just like looking at a map. >> Exactly. Yeah. >> Oh, okay. >> Landmark based. >> Okay. >> It just kind of gives you a point of reference of where you are, you know, roughly. >> Okay. I think it's by I don't think it's a GP or GPS or it might be the self cellular. >> Are you willing to let me verify that that's what you're looking at on your phone that it's your phone and not Ian's phone? I want to make sure it's not Ian's phone. >> No, no, no. Absolutely. You can go ahead. >> I will I'll uh I need to have you sign that though. Um >> is there a Do you have the phone pin locked? Is there a security lock on it? >> I think so. >> Cuz I know the family's going to want to make sure that that's not Ian's phone. >> Absolutely, man. Absolutely. You can go. You can check the America. >> Okay. Jorge Alcantara Gonzalez was originally charged in 2020 in Kitus County, Washington with seconddegree murder and more than 20 related felonies in the disappearance of Hunter Ian Eckles.
