and she was freaking out, >> telling me that uh he's going to kill us and uh he's not acting like himself. >> That was referring to the name you wrote down. >> Mhm. >> Okay. >> Apparently, it was completely different. Didn't act like literally himself at all. >> Okay. >> Like a different version of himself. On October 19th, 2025, near Sequum in Clum County, Washington, Nicholas Well was identified as a suspect in the stabbing and carjacking of Melvin Swagerty, a Door Dash driver who survived the attack. Spoiler details are in the video description, and the full results of all charges in the case are laid out at the end of the video. >> Well, tell me what what happened like the last 24 hours. that kind of cuz seems like everything culminated right with the you said that people are after you. Tell me about that. >> Yeah. And I let Port Angeles know that. >> You let Port Angeles know that. >> Yes. The officers and uh my wife did the same. >> Okay. >> And uh that's the only reason why I got out. But I took me a few seconds as soon as I walked out the door to know that it was a trap. >> Okay. So, >> I should have just stayed in. >> You're talking about when you got arrested yesterday, went to jail in Port Angeles. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Me getting out was just another easy way for them to >> see what my next step was going to be. >> Okay. where was I going to go do next? Cuz um they're very strategic and I didn't know what to do really. And all I wanted to do was hug my kids and go to bed. All I wanted to do was [ __ ] make pancakes in the morning. >> Well, it sounds like a nice time. You enjoy making pancakes with your kids? my famous pancakes and the kids love them and >> I haven't made them for a while and going through all this stuff. It's stressful. >> Well, it sounds like it >> for all my kids and I just want to get over it, but doesn't seem like it's going to get over anytime soon. >> Tell me what happened after you left the jail. So, you said they they had a were finding out your next move. What was your next move? >> Yeah, because there was like six of them posted. >> [snorts] >> like different cars. >> Okay. >> But they they were like you can clearly see that randomly when we came out. Random traffic just started rolling in and rolling around just randomly out of nowhere. Can notice when someone's moving around. that is not like a normal person. They have other intentions to actually hurt you. >> Okay. >> Like I I got that feeling. >> Okay. You got that feeling. >> And the sheriff's, it took a minute for them to go inside cuz they were looking around as well. They saw what I was seeing. >> Okay. It's just I don't know like who to trust really. >> I get that >> and it's hard for me and cuz I just want to be left alone and why I got picked to get messed with. I have to figure out who is the one that did it to me. >> Okay. And out of all my friends, been trying to narrow down the list and I have no idea. I have a couple people. >> Okay. Why do you think these people are out to get here? >> I don't know. >> Okay. So, you said that you saw a lot of random traffic in the the parking lot right when you got out and the sheriff's deputies went inside. >> Yeah. Not right away. >> Okay. >> Because [snorts] I told him like out of anything I just want unfortunately Liz and kids to be okay. >> Okay. because if everything is true of what Liz said [snorts] and um what I've seen I don't have many people left. >> Well, your family's safe right now. Okay. That that much is for certain. Can you tell me besides Liz and my kids? Who else is still alive? That's our families. >> Well, I don't know your whole family tree. Um I like I said, I talked to Liz and she told me about some family members and things like that. We were going to go stop and talk to them, make sure she's very worried about her mom, so we were going to go stop and talk to her mom and make sure she's okay. She wanted me to go talk to her in person. So, I'll go do that. But before we can do that, I kind of we kind of have to like find out exactly like who are we talking about and like what happened. So after you left the courthouse, tell me about what happened next. >> Then um I had several different cars just following me and my mom. My mom had to come help get the kids. >> Okay. and just following us, trying to get us to leave town for some reason. >> Okay. >> All I wanted to do is go home, but for some reason, Liz thought it was a trap. Told me not to go home. >> Okay. >> So, I don't know if that was real or not. >> Okay. like I literally wanted to do >> what the sheriff um that was talking with me. It's what I wanted to do. >> Go home. >> Yes. Just wanted relax. >> Where is home, by the way? Um what is your where where do you live? It >> is 23 01 West 18th Street, apartment B2. Okay. And just uh can you confirm your birthday for me? Just so I have it. >> 427 1995. >> Okay. Thank you. >> So what? You didn't go home because Liz said it was a trap? >> Yes. >> Okay. Why did she think it was a trap? because I was already locked up. And she got a ride from um my brother. >> Okay. >> Brother-in-law. >> Okay. And um apparently after I got booked in, a lot of stuff happened. >> Okay. >> And I was trying after I done doing all the paperwork and stuff. I got make phone calls. I called her and she was freaking out saying that she was on her way to the courthouse already, saying that uh he was going to kill her. Why did she believe that? >> Because she was crying while she was >> No, I meant like what I guess what did the brother do that made her think that? >> Do you know? >> Apparently, he wasn't acting like himself. >> Okay. Okay. And what's your brother-in-law's name? Which >> prefer to write it? >> What's up? >> I prefer to write it. >> You prefer to write it? >> Yeah. >> You can write your brother's name down. So here >> why would you prefer to write it? because he [snorts] highly connected. >> Okay. >> I'm being honest. He knows a [ __ ] ton of [ __ ] people. >> Okay. Well, I >> cuz one minute >> I don't know. >> I was not being messed with at all. [snorts] >> Okay. >> I was fine until I cheated on my wife. And ever since then, nothing but problems. even when I went back to my wife and was working on things and we were fine. So, if it's not him, then it's just someone that's really pissed off. >> Okay. >> Or it's just uh Nicole Rogers uh that is just saying a whole bunch of [ __ ] >> Okay. >> Because that's who I cheated my wife with. >> Okay. >> So, >> Okay. You said all the Okay. So, and all this started, you said after you and you had the affair with your on your wife and then you got back together though. It sounds like you're working things out. >> Yeah, we were fine. >> Okay. And then, so you mentioned that your mom was with you last night and then >> did you drop her off at home or what happened? >> No, she was the one that was driving. >> Okay. ended up um stopping at the store and telling my mom to go home because I don't have many people I can call. >> Okay. >> Cuz a lot of people have moved. I don't have their number anymore. >> Okay. And uh I kind of know that some of this is a joke. I just don't know who's the one that did it cuz of what happened yesterday at her mom's house. Was kind of shocking to me. >> What happened at her mom's house? >> Um apparently we weren't allowed to go there >> to check on Eva. Eva >> because Eva uh was freaking out the day before. >> Okay. >> And uh so I took Liz to go see her sister. >> Okay. >> Because everyone else was out of town. She was by herself. >> Okay. >> We didn't know that at first. We thought uh besides Jose, but he was at work. >> Okay. >> Has been working. But it just seems like someone's messing with all of us and I don't know who it is. >> Okay. >> What happened when you got to your uh her sister's house to check on her? >> It was her mom's house. >> Mom's house. >> And uh I'm just pretty sure they did a big giant joke. Like I was trying to calm her down. I was like I think they're just joking. It was a sick joke is what happened here. They just wanted us to come here for some reason. >> Okay. >> For the sheriff's to tell us to leave cuz they're trying to tell us that uh someone called saying that we were trying to break in. >> Okay. >> And we're trying to break in their mom's house and Emma [clears throat] wasn't answering the door. >> Okay. And I only knocked I didn't touch no door knobs. >> I'm not sure. >> So, well, they have >> the sheriff's come and talk to you there. >> Yes. Then they had to do a sweep and everything. >> Okay. >> And they magically got a hold of her mom and dad that supposedly died the day before. and because she was getting phone calls and everything about um about her family and about mine. So, I'm like, "What am I supposed to believe?" >> Okay. >> Who was making these phone calls to her? >> I don't know. >> Okay. >> I don't know who it was cuz I don't really have her phone in my hand. >> Okay. So I don't know who who joke is it on me the family cuz I caught on. I was like because of something He told me the day before. That's why I was like can't believe it baby. Can't believe it. I want to get in your head. >> So you said you um going back to like your mom was driving. Was she driving your your car? >> She was driving her car. >> What does she drive? Um, what is that? Toyota. It's like a Toyota hatchback. >> Okay. >> Has a kind of a weird axe on it. It's got like a little midsize SUV type of thing. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Um it's blue. >> Okay. >> Um it was parked >> obviously there's cameras in the parking lot at the sheriff's. Obviously you can see that how when we left um that we parked right next to or she parked right next to my car. >> Okay. Who was driving your car then? >> Um she drove to me or had someone drive there and then I drove. But I can't even drive that far with my car because I had to fix the radiator. Oh, >> okay. >> Um if I even have a car anymore. >> So you you drove your car and your mom was driving her car. >> Yes. >> To the store. >> Uh yes. >> What store? Um, we're heading to uh IGS. >> IGS. Okay. >> And then once you guys got to IGS, your mom went home. >> Uh, yes. Cuz I told my mom we need to go out of town. >> Okay. >> Um, that's what Liz wanted to do. >> Get out of town. >> Yeah. When we were just out of town the day before. >> Okay. And then so what hap where do you guys drive to next then? Um, all I can really remember is drove to my car only made it to the movie theater. >> Okay. >> Is it just not even that far really from IGS? Just >> Yeah, it's down the street. Yeah, go like that. You're pretty much there. >> Okay. [snorts] >> And what happened after you guys made it to the movie theater then? Everything just changed there. >> How so? like how she was talking, I don't know, the people around, it's just the feeling was all off. >> Okay. >> For some reason, >> okay, off how >> like you can usually have a feeling something's off. Okay. >> Something doesn't add up. Usually people have that sense you gut instinct. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> And that's also what I've had in my house. I had a feeling something was in my house because some things would be moved just a little bit. >> Okay. >> Or slightly moved when I know my kids not going to do that because they're zoned into the TV playing with toys or eating food. you know, they're not going to be messing with anything really to like this just doesn't make sense even if it was my kids doing it. >> Yeah, I get that. >> It doesn't make sense to me. >> Okay. Yeah. >> But the problem is they're making it so everyone has a hard time remembering. How are they doing that? >> I don't know. >> I just know for me it started about two and a half months ago. >> Okay. Okay. >> Uh it's really hard to remember like details. >> Well, we'll sit through and we'll try to work through them together. Okay. >> Um like everything's still really fuzzy. >> Okay. right now and uh I just am trying to figure out how to get out of here because I need to make sure I don't lose my place that I'm about to lose. There's things I need to do and I can't do them in here. >> Yeah, I get that. We got to handle one thing at a time though. Okay. >> I know. >> It's the best way to handle it. So, um, what happened after you got to Deer Park? You're desent moved by the movie theaters. >> Yeah. Um, then she wanted to leave. >> Okay. >> And um I don't really remember much after that. >> Okay. >> What? Because for some reason there was a lot of cars >> at the movie theater. >> Okay. >> And he's really busy and my back. That's for sure. >> Had a long night. >> I feel like an an old man. >> You're 30 now, right? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> So, what happens when you get 30? You just start feeling old. >> Yeah. I don't even know how that's possible. >> I mean, just non-stop doing something. You guys are picking up from the kids, giving them food, >> being there like I always have been. And I got pushed away from them. >> Pushed away out to the point that I don't even know I'm going to see my kids now. >> Like I said, the fastest way through this and the best way through is just one step at a time. And part of that is us trying to figure out what exactly happened like and so that's what I'm here to learn from. >> I told my wife to tell the sheriff's there what she had to do and the sheriff's told me what then there what she has to do. >> Okay. So, >> take a second. Try to tell me everything you remember after you guys got near the movie theaters. Okay. >> Oh, I know. She just started freaking out for some reason. >> Okay. I'm guessing she ended up seeing someone that I didn't see cuz like I said, there's a lot of people. >> Okay. >> And I was busy cuz I trying to keep my kids to stay close to each other. >> Yeah. >> So, >> was that inside the car or outside the car? >> Outside the car. >> Okay. >> Where do you guys Where do you guys go after the movie theater? I don't really remember. >> Okay. What do you remember from that back to the movie theater? And Liz was just repeating herself over and over again. >> What was she saying? That >> they're going to kill us. >> Okay. Oh. So again, I don't even know if she's playing me or not. >> Why do you think she'd be playing you? >> I have no idea. >> Okay. Was she seeing things that you weren't? >> Uh yeah. >> Okay. What type of things was she seeing? >> Um saying she sees. Um, well, that's the thing. I saw some of the things that she saw, but not all of them. >> What were you seeing? >> Because I was busy with my kids, not looking around all the time. >> People watching you usually will know when someone's looking at you too many times. Okay. >> Glancing over too many times. or something. >> And this is when you were still with your truck. Is that Durango, right? >> Yes. >> Okay. Did you guys walk anywhere after that? >> Um, we're just walking around the movie theater. >> Okay. >> Um, I wanted to go home constantly saying that. >> Okay. and constantly telling me you can't go home. So, either someone put something in her head or she honestly believes cuz she got told that someone was actually going to kill my whole family and then us. >> Okay. Why do you think she believes that? >> I saw it in her eyes, honestly. >> Okay. >> You look and see if someone's telling the truth. >> Yeah. or she just has a down pat with the point. I can't even tell. >> Okay. >> And you said you saw some of the things she did and that was like people glancing. Did you see anything else that she was pointing out? It doesn't help that at first when I first got the car, my new car, nothing was wrong with it. And then magically car slowly breaking apart and giving me problems. >> Okay. >> And then I have other problems now. So, when you were walking around the movie theater, did you talk to anyone or >> No. >> Okay. What happened after you left the movie theater area? >> When we left, I don't really remember much. >> What do you remember? >> I don't remember getting in the car. >> You remember getting in the car? >> Yeah. Tell me about that. Tell me about the car. What it looked like? >> No, my car. >> Oh, you remember getting into your car? >> Yes, that's it. >> Okay. You So, you were walking and then you got back into your car? >> Mhm. >> And then you don't remember anything after that? >> Cuz we were going to go out of town or back home. I finally talked to her to it or I don't know. I >> don't remember what we ended up doing. >> Okay. >> What time was it around this time? >> Um 10 10 I don't know. It was dark. >> It's dark already. >> Yes. >> Okay. And you got back in your car? >> Yes. >> Were you driving? >> Yes. I'm usually the one that drives. >> The car start working again. I know you said you were having some issues with it before then. >> No, I I still had issues. I just trying to figure out why I can't remember much of anything. And that's all of our family. All of our family is magically having a hard time remembering, >> which I don't believe at all. >> Okay, >> it's not a coincidence that one or two maybe three people starting to have some kind of memory problem, but when every single bar is in, I think it's something else. >> Okay. >> And that's what I said. Anything. I was like, "We just need to get out of here." Apparently, someone wants us to be not on this planet anymore. >> Okay. >> Put in the ground. >> So, what happened after you said you got back in your car and you were cuz you normally drive. What happened next? I wake up and I'm in a different car and that's when the cop or sheriff was holding my hand. That's what I remember and everything started then. >> Okay. >> Tell me about the car you woke up in. >> Woke up one. It's like a hatchback. Okay. >> Kind of like my mom's, but it's shaped different. >> Okay. >> Pitch black. And the car won't even turn on. I tried turning it on. Did turn on. So, I don't know. >> Okay. Tell me about where were you sitting in the car? >> I was sitting in the driver's seat. >> Okay. Where was Liz? >> Passenger seat. >> Okay. >> And how about the kids? >> And then all my kids >> were in the in the back. >> Back seat. And >> all I know is I was I was holding um one or two of my kids. >> Okay. and um trying to keep warm because magically we had no phone. >> What happened to your phone? >> My phone and my son's phone ended up getting soaked before [snorts] I even got out of the um sheriff's office in PA. >> They got soaked. >> Yeah. Because it wouldn't turn on. Oh, >> okay. and she didn't grab a charger. >> Okay. >> So, I didn't have a charger. So, like it doesn't make sense. There's no way I could call anyone. Didn't know what to do. Didn't know where I was at. >> Did you try borrowing someone's phone last night to call someone? >> I couldn't. I was in the middle of nowhere. Oh, I meant before that when you were still in Port Angeles. >> No, I tried. >> Okay. >> But I was trying to remember because of my memory problem now. I was trying to remember the numbers because every everything's saved in my phone. I don't really have to remember it. >> That's for a lot of people, not just me. >> Okay. But that's why I'm having a hard time believing any of this. And this is just a [ __ ] dream. >> Well, I can promise you it's not a dream, okay? It's not a dream. Never a joke. Okay. >> And I still think it's a joke. >> Well, it's really important >> a joke on me. >> No, we're not trying to play a joke on you. Okay. >> No, not you guys. >> I know. But it's really important that we kind of determine what happened. last night. Okay. >> Yeah. >> After you got to the movie theater area. Okay. >> Yeah. >> How did How did you get into that other car? The hatchback one? >> I don't remember how. >> Don't remember. >> No. >> Okay. Have you ever seen that car before? >> No, I've never seen it before. >> Okay. So, so and you don't remember borrowing anyone's phone last night to make a call. >> Try asking a few people. Okay. Did anyone say yes? >> I don't think so. >> Okay. >> Okay. Where were you asking people to borrow their phone at? >> Um, >> where was I? >> Yeah. Where were you? >> Parking lot. >> Uh, parking lot of the movie theater. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Um, who would you have tried to call then if you did did someone did let you borrow their phone? >> I was trying to call I wanted to call for help of either go to my family's house. It's just up the road. >> Okay. >> Or the other one that's just down the road. >> What are their names? Um, and I still don't know what's going on with them. >> Well, I can always check in on them, but I got to What's What's their name? >> The one that lives on deer park. >> Yeah. Miss Beverly uh two Oh my goodness. I can't say the last name. >> Can you spell it? >> No. >> Okay. >> To the logo. >> Okay. Do you remember where she lives at in your park area? >> Third Street. Third Third Street Main Street. When you leave the movie theater and you go up, I believe it's the third street on on the right. >> Okay. And is she a friend or a family member? Oh, >> that's my aunt. >> That's your aunt. Okay. What's your mom's name? >> Ray and Well, >> does she live in that area, too? >> Uh, no. She lives in uh more Westside PA. >> What's her address? >> I don't remember. I just know it's right next to um apartment's next to what is it the name of the school. >> I'll try to >> school, but I'll >> try to check in with Beverly and >> I also was curious. >> [snorts] >> Okay. So, you you would have tried to get a hold of Beverly or >> Yeah, if I can remember her number or I would have got a hold of my other aunt that's just down the road the other way. >> Okay. >> Um >> what's her name? >> Donna. >> Donna. Okay. I don't know if it's Well, >> so you mentioned that Liz was freaking out a lot. >> Yeah. >> Was that Tell me more about that. Was that like inside the Durango, outside the Durango? Both. >> Both. Okay. Well, >> it was really difficult for me to calm her down at all. >> Okay. >> Did something end up calming her down or >> No, not really. >> Okay. >> And I was trying to keep her calm because then she kept making the kids starting to freak out and that's why I wanted to go home. >> Okay. >> That's it. >> No, I get >> because I can't be in the car and take care of seven kids. It's got to be tough, right? Actually, >> I don't know anyone that can do that by themselves when they're also having their significant other uh trying to calm them down on top of that. >> No, taking care of seven kids in general must be a lot. >> I'm sitting here in handcuffs. >> Like I said, it's kind of why we're we're here talking is there's a lot of stuff happened and we're just trying to figure out what exactly happened. >> Yeah. Cuz if someone is out to get you, like that's our job to keep people safe. >> Yeah. >> Keep everyone safe. >> I hope you guys can figure it out. >> Even if you guys move us, I don't care. Okay. >> I just want to be with my family. >> Okay. So, were you walking on the highway at any point or walking? Do you remember walking anywhere? We were walking on the highway. >> Do you remember walking on the highway? Like did you cuz I mean so we're in Kids App obviously, right? Um >> Kids app. >> Yeah, we're in Kids App right now. You're you last time last thing you remember was your Durango being near the movie theater. It's quite a distance from point A to point B, right? So, we're just we're trying to figure out what happened between point A and point B, like how you ended up down here in this area >> in a different car. >> Yeah. >> Okay. See, that's kind of that's kind of the puzzle we're trying to put together right now. >> And we're here to learn from you today. That's just >> Yeah. Yeah. I figured you guys are going to see me. >> Yeah. So tell me more about how how big of a diff how what's the distance? >> Um probably >> it's a hike man. >> Yeah. >> It's like 2 hours of driving. >> 2 hours. >> Yeah. >> Jesus Christ. >> So >> So I don't think you hoofed it. >> Yeah. So I'm trying to figure out like did you get picked up? Did you take a bus? What happened? How do you get from the deer park area to kids? >> Okay, fine. Tell us more [snorts] about the car. You said you woke up in the car. >> Yeah, there was nothing. >> There was nothing in the car really besides just someone else's stuff, obviously. >> Okay. I noticed. I was like, "Babe, where the [ __ ] are we?" >> Like, honestly, cuz I had no idea. And I can't just start walking because I went and looked and like friends on both sides and either go that way or this way. And it's really cold. So, I'm supposed to have my kids outside freezing, possibly die >> because I don't know. because I don't know where I'm at. >> Do you remember driving the car down here or >> I don't remember driving at all. >> Okay. Okay. What do you remember about the other person's stuff in the car? What was that? >> I just know it was a guy. >> I never seen him before. >> Okay. What do you Why do you say it was a guy? >> Well, there was a card with a picture on it. Oh, okay. >> What the picture look like? >> Was older guy. >> Okay. >> Short a little bit shorter hair. >> Okay. Where was that picture idea at? >> Um, the picture I saw was in the center. Okay. >> I was looking around for anything cuz I was trying to either find a charger to see if the either my phone would work or not or this was just a big giant joke. >> Okay. >> Cuz I did see a car coming when I was going to get out but ended up stopping and turning back around. So, it never it never came to us. That was after you woke up. >> And that was after I woke up. Okay. >> And then that made her started freaking out. So I had to calm her down again. I'm like, I have no idea what I should do. I have no phone. Don't know how I got in this car. It's not turning on. So what am I supposed to do? I'm pretty left with zero options. >> Why do you >> as in leave my family and me go try to find help and the time I get back, they're not even going to be there. >> Why would they not be there? >> Because of what Liz has said and what I've seen and what I've been told. >> Okay. >> Why do you think that you're having issues with your memory last night? >> Because I am. Do you think I'm guess my question is >> my brain >> what caused it >> hurting right now my back is killing me >> and it wasn't before like 2 and 1/2 months ago >> well what started 2 and 1/2 months ago >> nothing >> nothing's changed that's the thing that I've been trying to figure out >> okay >> you go to the doctor at No, I haven't had time. >> So, you don't got any diagnosis or anything like that with what's going on with your memory? >> No, because I had had some appointments that I had to do for my kids and her >> just kind of busy taking care of the kids and her. We got a chance to see >> and then dealing with CPS. I had to make sure the house was clean, picked up. So yeah, I was stretched pretty thin in about every category. >> Um, so I don't I didn't really have time to do anything for me besides laying down in my bed watching TV or listening to music. [snorts] So >> do you ever have any diagnosis before that um that might contribute mental health diagnosis or anything like that? mental diagnosis. >> Yeah. You know, I don't know. Um PTSD or anything like that. >> That's it. Okay. >> I don't have anything else. >> Okay. >> As far as I know cuz I've I've been doing what I've been what I've been doing, what I'm supposed to be doing. >> Hopefully. >> Yeah. I mean, it sounds like you're stretched pretty thin like you said. You got CPS, you got seven kids. >> Yeah. >> You got what what's going through your head like uh yesterday when you got seven kids stuffed in a pretty small car. You're >> I was scared. >> You're seeing others kind of >> especially when I saw someone come and then not come like at that moment. I knew I was like someone wanted me to wake up and see that car do that and figure out that uh that I'm stuck there because they knew that I wasn't going to leave my kids and my wife alone and I didn't want my kids to be outside so I couldn't just leave the far. And if I did, I didn't go far. I went looking to see what was around me cuz I didn't know. I could barely have any light. There wasn't much from usually I can use the light from the stars and the moon depending on how bright it is. But for some reason in that area just was really dark. Like I had a hard time seeing anything. >> I know you said it was really cold. Did the And the the car wasn't turning on. Did you >> Would it turn on at all? >> Did you have the Did you have the key? >> The key was in the ignition when I woke up. >> It just wouldn't turn over for whatever reason. >> Yeah. >> What do you remember when the cops showed up? cuz for some reason end up falling asleep because I was thinking so much trying to decide if I should leave or not. And then uh I was holding my baby in my arms and then he was like, "You need to get out of the car. I'm like, what? What are you doing? Like, hi. Like, where you come from? I remember is him just taking me to the squad car, talking to me and telling me all this about um the car and who owns it and how how did I get blood on me? stuff like that. >> How did he get blood on you? >> I don't remember cuz again I was asleep. >> Okay. >> Or something put me asleep. One of the >> I don't remember. I don't know. >> Well, I mean I guess the jail looked at you. Did you have any cuts or anything? >> Um yeah, I got a couple tiny ones. I don't know if it's enough. It was only a tiny bit. So, I figured it was me. >> Where was the blood at? Cuz it looks like you all washed up now. >> Well, I I haven't washed up or anything. I've been so tired. I just wanted to sleep. >> Well, I mean, the blood's gone, right? So, >> Oh, there's a couple little bit here and there, but it was on my pants and that's why that's where my arm usually sits. >> Okay. Um, >> you don't remember how blood got on your pants or your arm? >> No. >> Okay. >> Cuz again, it pitch black. Nothing would turn on. There was no light. >> When you turn the key in the ignition, did even like the dashboard lights turn on? >> No, there was nothing. >> Okay. So, I guess let's bring it back a bit to uh when you got picked up by the sheriff's in up in Port Angeles, you were doing donuts in the Safeway parking lot from what I understand. >> Correct. >> What What was that about? Tell me more about that. >> Um I was going to be meeting a friend. I was just doing a donut. Usually whoever gets there first do a donut to see if the other one's there. >> Okay. >> They're driving their normal car or a different one. >> Okay. >> The sheriff thought it was funny, but I stupid. I told him I'll never do that ever again. >> What friend were you going to meet? >> [snorts] >> know what I was talking about earlier? >> We talked about quite a few. >> Yeah, the one I wrote down. >> You're you're meeting them there. Okay. >> That's what I thought. Or somewhere else. >> Okay. >> I don't know. And that was after you tried to go to swim and check on your uh >> wife's mom. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> And I had people following me all over. >> Tell me about the people following you. >> Either from older people to like younger people >> than me. >> Why do you think they were following you? because their car was behind mine, >> okay, >> constantly, no matter what I did, >> okay? >> Or they would just sit there and just stare at me. Like, it's kind of some giveaways. People's giving you a look or something. >> Well, I get it. Like, but I wasn't there, man. So, I got to learn from you. >> Yeah. Yeah, I know. You got to try to get a mental picture for your own stuff. Yeah. >> We're trying to paint a picture of what the last 24 hours. >> It's fuzzy. >> Yeah. I probably remember only a few hours. >> Okay. >> Honestly, >> so um I'm not trying to like pass any judgment. It's just things I got to know. Have you have you taken anything in the last like week that would mess with your any type of drugs or anything that would mess with your memory or mess with your >> That's the thing I don't remember cuz the only thing that I normally do is I smoke weed. >> Okay. >> But I don't I don't smoke heavy like I used to. >> Okay. Did you smoke weed yesterday? >> No. >> Okay. >> That's the thing. That's why I thought it was odd. I didn't even have it with me. >> Okay. >> When's the last time you remember smoking weed? >> And it was like >> now. I think it's coming up on like either two or three days. I don't remember. >> Okay. cuz I don't remember if today is Monday or Sunday. >> Today is Monday. >> That's what I thought. >> Yeah. >> So, three days. >> Okay. So, when's the last time you got like a full night? I know it's hard with a baby. I get that. Sleeping with a baby is almost impossible, but when's the last time you like had a mostly a full night's sleep. >> A full night's sleep. How long am I sleep? Huh? 8 hours. >> Well, like I said with a baby, I know that's almost impossible to get up, but I guess when's the last time you spent the night in your own bed? >> Uh, let me see. I think it was Last time I can even just lay on my bed, it was Tuesday. >> Tuesday. That was a week ago. >> Wednesday. Okay. >> I don't know. >> So, I mean, not last night, but where did you sleep? Saturday night. >> Saturday night. >> Not last night, the night before. >> I was in my car. >> Oh, you slept in your car? >> Yeah. You mentioned you were out of town um Saturday, right? Yeah. >> Okay. Where where'd you go when you were out of town? >> I was on my way to um like [sighs and gasps] Tacoma. >> Okay. I was going to go see my brother or my cousin. >> Okay. >> I was trying to get a hold of them. I was wondering I was cuz what was going on at the house. So, I was getting sick and tired of it and I was losing energy and I was losing strength and I was getting burnt out completely and I was hoping that I could get some help from one of them either staying a couple days just to get out of the house. >> Yeah. Because my house, it felt like like something was in the house that was hurting my kids cuz my kids were fine. Okay. [snorts] >> When we were in the car or not in the house and that's why I'm mad cuz something happened to my kids >> and I wasn't there. Okay. They're safe now. Okay. >> Yeah. But >> so what did the deputy tell you about the person that owned that car? >> Nothing much. >> What? What is nothing much? >> You just kept asking me the same questions you're asking me. >> Okay. Well, they are kind of important questions. Okay. So, did they tell you why you're in the Kitsap County Jail? >> No. >> Okay. So, right now you're in K the Kids County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle. >> Yeah. That's why he's >> Yeah. In reckless endangerment. Okay. >> That's why you're in the Kitsap County Jail. Okay. Cuz And the reason why I'm here is cuz the owner of that vehicle is currently in Harbor View. >> Okay. And now I'm just trying to piece together >> what happened in between >> because it sounds like it you're someone that really cares about your family. I'm definitely getting that feeling from you. Okay. >> And I'm just worried something may have happened where you felt like you had to protect your family or if there was a fight or something that may have happened that may have caused that. Okay. Cuz I get it. Like you want to protect your family and if someone's after your family like you're going to protect them. Okay. Well, I hope so. >> Yeah, >> but again, I have a hard time remembering anything. >> That's fine. >> Even this last week been really difficult. >> Okay. >> Been like a stretch too thin in my head. >> Well, that's no good. Okay. >> So, I don't even know how to fix it now. Especially now where I'm in here and me having a hard time remembering anything when that was never a problem for me. >> It came out of nowhere. >> The fastest way through it unfortunately is kind of just figuring out what happened, right? That's our job. Figuring out what happened and then working through from there. That's the fastest for everyone is kind of knowing what happened and then moving on from that. Okay. >> Mhm. >> And that's why we're talking to you. We talked to Liz already. >> Yeah. >> Okay. And we're kind of just trying to figure out and work through. Okay. But it's kind of like putting a puzzle together in the dark upside down. It's not >> great. >> So, but I mean your piece of it is a large part of that puzzle. Same with Liz. Liz was a huge part of the puzzle. You're a huge part. >> I don't know. >> Okay. So, you said your, you know, we're talking about phones and stuff earlier and you mentioned that your phone was dead. >> My phone and my son's phone were dead. >> Okay. What about >> and either soaked in water and Liz magically forgot her car? I magically forgot her phone at home. >> She forgot her phone at home. >> Yeah. >> Okay. And I guess was that after you got out of the the Clone County jail that you figured out she left for it at home? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Oh, no. What did she say? She left her phone in the car. was calling her, you know, she was there. So, yeah. >> She left her phone in the car. >> Yes, she's somewhere in the car. >> Which car? >> My car. >> Oh, the Dango. Okay. And you said you were calling her? >> Yeah, I was calling her in the jail when I was first getting locked up >> when she was when I had to get done doing some paperwork. >> Okay. and I finally got a chance to call her and she was freaking out telling me that uh he's going to kill us and uh he's not acting like himself. >> That was referring to the name you wrote down. >> Mhm. >> Okay. >> Apparently, it was completely different. didn't act like literally himself at all. >> Okay. >> Like a different version of himself. >> Okay. >> You keep And then you said they a lot like who >> whoever he's working with. >> Do they have a name like something to go off of? >> No, I don't. >> Okay. >> I don't have any idea. >> I just know he has a lot more people than I do. I have no one. Why do you think they are? You said that. Why do you think they're after you? >> They're not after me. They're just after >> the fact that me and Liz don't want to separate. >> Are you saying that they want they want you two to separate like marriage wise? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Yes. That someone else wants Liz or just doesn't want me to be happy. >> Okay. with my kids and my wife that I hurt because I left her at a very important time. >> What do you mean important time? >> Um, having my last baby. >> Okay. Well, in when you had when that part happened. >> Yeah. Having my last baby. >> Okay. And uh that's why I believe the whole time I was gone, I was giving I was like I swear she was giving me something cuz I have a hard time remembering. >> Do you think she was giving you something? >> If she wasn't she was working with someone that did. >> Which she you talking about? Liz she or someone? >> No. >> Oh >> Nicole. >> Nicole. Okay. >> Did Nicole ever give you anything? like >> I don't remember. Okay, >> that's the thing. There was plenty of time. I didn't pay attention. I was just trying to relax and uh she could have slipped me whatever cuz she has like a mountain of pills that she takes on daily basis or weekly or you know daily whatever. Same with her kids too. So, she has access to a lot of medicine. >> Okay. >> Um, and plenty of time me not to even notice anything. >> Okay. So, you mentioned that you smoke weed, like that's legal, right? But yes. >> In the past, have you ever did anything like harder? Anything? >> Um, harder. >> Yeah. Um, I was just um in the math a couple years ago. >> Okay. >> Three years ago. Did that mess with your memory at all? >> No, I was fine. >> Okay. >> I still could remember everything and did everything like every day routine was the same and didn't change anything. But it's not my cup of tea. Again, I only smoke weed, but I only smoke like >> Yeah, we are very different. So, >> yes, exactly. >> Couple um just like couple bowls. >> Okay. >> Nothing like I used to smoke. I used to smoke very heavy. >> Well, weed's legal, so >> yeah. Yeah, >> that I just there's not much time for me to be able to enjoy, I guess, being stoned. Well, not having kids. >> Exactly. So, I have to stay focused >> most of the time. >> So, >> okay. >> Did any of So, any of these people in like the last 24 hours make direct contact with you? Did any of them attack you? Did any of them come up and talk to you? Did any of them the last 24 hours. >> Yeah, like last two days, last day. Any of them come up and talk to you? >> I only remember seeing seeing him. >> Who's him? >> Him. The one I wrote down. Oh, >> okay. >> And I saw Nicole driving but didn't talk. And then my mom. >> Okay. >> I And then a couple random people that I don't know. >> You talked to them? >> Yes. >> Tell me about those conversations. >> Well, one of them was >> in the Safeway parking lot. >> Okay. >> In Port Angeles. >> What did they say to you? told me a name which I don't remember. I don't remember the other thing he said. >> What does he look like? >> Not you or not you. That's all I know. But I guess he looks more like you. A little bit taller. Tall and handsome. >> Yeah. [snorts] Yeah. >> And Okay. And that was in the Safeway parking lot. >> Yes. >> Okay. Um >> who else in Utah do you from that that group? >> I can't even. >> Okay. >> Okay. Well, hey, give us one second. We're going to step out real quick. We'll be right back. [snorts] Um also this other person. That's right. I forgot. I don't remember his name. >> Okay. >> But it's um a person that is >> pretty dangerous, I think. >> Okay. >> If I didn't like it, then they've been in my house. I didn't like it very much. When did they >> If I can't remember a name, I'll tell you. But he's bigger than me. Um, >> that was about a week ago. >> Okay. >> Why was this guy in your house? >> I was a friend of my wife's. >> Okay. a friend. My wife's friend's boyfriend. >> Okay. What was >> So, their stuff is in my house, too. In my closet and on the couch. >> Okay. >> But I don't know. >> What did he do that makes you think he's a very dangerous guy? >> Well, he told me what his background is or what I can remember still. And I told Liz, I was like, I get a really strange feeling around him. >> Okay. >> Like strange, dangerous. >> Okay. >> Like afraid to uh not wonder where exactly my kids are when he's in my house. Okay. I can't think of his name. >> What you think on that for a second? Uh, Nicholas, we're going to step outside. Okay. >> Yeah. I need some more water. >> Yeah. Give me luck on that name. >> Believe it was James. [snorts] >> James. That's your uh your wife's friend's friend. No, my wife's friend's boyfriend, but I think his name was James. >> Okay. [snorts] >> Okay. So, I was going to ask you, you said uh you live on in an apartment off 18th Street. >> Yes. >> Is that in Breton? Port Angeles. >> There's a lot 18. >> I'm sorry. I thought I said Port Angeles. >> You may have and I was just scribbling it down. Why would you come down to Kitap then? >> Kids? Yeah. It doesn't make sense to me. >> Okay. Do you ever spend any time down here? >> No, I don't know my way around down here. Like >> Okay. >> That's why I was have no idea. >> Okay. Have you ever been in our jail or anything before? >> No, I'm I have a clean record that I don't know anything at all. >> That's what I was going to say. I don't know who you are at all, man. So that's why I was wondering why what even brought you down here. >> I'm wondering what's happening. >> Okay. [snorts] >> And um where exactly I heard the car was found near Manchester area, right? >> Yeah. Do you know do you know where you were at when you uh >> No, I said I didn't know where I was. >> Okay. Yeah, >> I just know there was a fence on both sides of me and I get to pick a direction either straight or behind me. >> Okay. >> So, >> no idea how you got there. I never seen that area before. >> No, ever. >> Okay. Um, besides the fence, what do you remember seeing anything? >> A sign on the fence saying only authorized personnel. >> Okay. >> That's all I remember. a little sign on the fence said. That's what I was like. Uh, definitely should not be here. Wherever the hell I'm at. >> Yeah, >> it's all I know. >> Okay. I think that's a Navy base that you're in front of, just so you know. So, >> a Navy base. >> Yeah. >> Ah. >> Okay. >> What's a good phone number for I know you said your phone doesn't work, but what's your phone number when it does work? >> But you mean if I get my phone back? >> Yeah. >> So, why do you need my phone number if you're not going to be able to call me? >> Because people don't usually stay in prison or jail the rest of their lives type of thing. Most of the time, you will probably get make bail or get released or things like that. like they're not aren't going to keep you keep you in here and hide you and throw away the key. Like I'm probably going to have to talk to you again in the future, right? Or if you have questions for me, same thing. So, >> okay. 360. >> Yeah. >> 461 3527. >> That's my actual phone number. And I wish I could see my picture on my phone. That's for sure. >> Oh, a picture on your phone. >> Yeah. >> Well, I I'm not sure where your phone's at right now. It may be an evidence. Okay. I'm not sure anymore. I just sure missed looking at that picture. >> And you said it was what? You said it was it was dead, but you said it got soaked in water. >> Yeah, I noticed I had a feeling to take off the back of both the phones. They were both wet on the inside of the case. And I told Liz, I was like, "Do you get the phones wet at all?" And she said, "No." I'm like, "So, explain how is there water on the inside of the case then?" >> Both the phones, >> but not hers, only yours and your kids, you said. >> Uh-huh. >> Okay. >> That's why it didn't make sense. >> Okay. >> But I didn't see her phone when I got in the car. >> Okay. which I thought was odd because usually girls, especially mine, she's just going to be on her phone, usually on Facebook, but because we've been going through so much, she was actually not on her phone. I figured we would try to establish what just happened. >> Yeah. >> And um so we were busy and that's why she didn't have her phone. was already a pretty excuse. She didn't even say had to say anything. So, >> I'm just trying to like if my phone was actually water logged, then everything was preset. >> When When did you notice your phone uh wasn't turning on or was water wasn't inside? >> Um I was still at the sheriff's office. Oh, okay. >> I noticed my phone and my son's phone wouldn't turn on. I've noticed is that in the parking lot. >> Did you leave your phone with Liz when you went to >> I unfortunately I left everything. >> Okay. Sometimes you can bring it with you, sometimes you leave with family. It kind of just depends. >> Yeah, I I only took my ID. >> Did your phone work before you went to >> Yes, it did. >> Okay. >> Yes, it did. It was half charged. >> Half charged? >> Yes. >> Okay. Is there a passcode on your phone or is it just unlocked? >> Um, I don't know anymore if it's cuz it's been getting messed with. >> Okay. [snorts] >> Um, so sometimes you don't even need a password. You just swipe up, which is just really odd to me. >> Do you normally have a passcode on your phone? Yeah, I usually have passwords >> or um my thumb, >> but that started like a month ago. >> Okay. >> I was having problems with my phone glitching out and I ended up figuring out people were getting messages sent from my phone or my Facebook, people that were my contacts. >> Okay. >> Um that I wasn't doing. >> What type of messages? >> Just random messages that some people knew that it wasn't us and then ended up messaging the other one about it. Only a few people told us. That's the only reason why I know about it. >> Okay. >> That >> What were these things you were that people were saying you were messaging them from? >> I don't recall what the messages were about. I just know. >> Okay. people getting messages, calls about us or someone else. >> That started about a month ago. >> I I believe it's been a month. >> Okay. >> Again, my timeline range is kind of off right now. >> No, I get that. And I'm I'm not trying to I guess accuse you or anything, but like you said you have issues with your memory. Could you have been sending those messages and just not remember it? Is that a possibility or >> I don't know how that would be possible cuz I never done that before. >> I mean, we're also talking like you made it two counties over and you don't remember how. So, >> yeah. >> I'm just >> Yeah, I can see. >> Okay. I'm just wondering is that like a possibility or did like there's no way that's possible? >> No. >> Okay. Why do you say no? just because of the fact that my phone was glitching out and I'm not the one that glitched out my own phone. Okay. >> I I don't even know how to do that. >> What do you mean glitched out? Like >> someone else had access to my phone >> like third party or like >> Yes, third party as in uh some phones now all of them you can have them connected to another phone. Somehow all those settings are gone on the top. When you swipe down, it'll tell you usually what's what's turned on on your phone. >> Okay. >> And I do know a few things. >> Okay. >> That symbol was on there >> cuz sh the sharing symbol to a phone. >> Okay. Now, do you think like because of everything that happened with your relationship that could have been Liz just going through your phone? Did she ever just go through your phone? >> Yeah, she went through my phone. My kids went through my phone cuz usually >> likes watching shows on my phone. >> Watching shows. >> So, I didn't really care. I don't I don't care for phones much. >> Okay. >> I rather have no phone. [clears throat] But, um nowadays, you kind of have to have a phone. >> Yeah. It's pretty hard now, too. >> You know, you he got work, you going to have to have a phone. So people were saying you were messaging them text message and through social media like Facebook. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> That messages from my account. >> Yeah. >> That I did not make. >> Okay. >> Someone was pretending to be me, but there's just one problem. They're not me. >> Okay. And then >> and I noticed it because I saw some messages that were really similar like mine. >> Okay. >> Like almost to the tea. It's just they keep messing up on some key words that I would never use. >> Like what? >> Like the grammar was off. Okay. >> You usually can tell by someone's grammar how they would uh normally word things. >> Okay. >> It was really close, but it just wasn't exact. >> No. >> Okay. Now, did it's going to seem weird, but did you have your phone on you when those messages were sent? Not saying you sent them, but like did you have or did you come back to your phone and be like, "Oh, looks what's that?" >> No, I didn't have my phone. >> You didn't have your phone on you? >> No. >> Okay. So, what people were receiving these messages like family members, friends, >> everyone. >> Everyone. >> Everyone. >> Okay. Okay. >> And that's what makes me mad. >> Okay. Um, then who why do you think I guess who would have dumped your phone in water then? Do you think who would have been around your phone to do that? >> My kids. Okay. >> Or Liz and whoever else was in the house. >> Okay. >> Cuz again, I haven't had a chance to get to my house. Well, you uh well, your phone was working when you got arrested in the Safeway parking lot and then when you got picked out of jail, it wasn't >> like correct. Okay. >> Nicholas Well was charged in Clum County with attempted secondderee murder, first-degree robbery, and vehicle theft after the October 19th, 2025 carjacking of Melvin Swaggerty near Sequum. He pleaded not guilty in November 2025. As of January 2026, he was still awaiting trial, held in the Clum County Jail on $750,000 bond. No public verdict or sentence has been confirmed through August 2026.
