At 2:30 in the morning on July 25th, 2025, Palmetto police officers in Manatee County, Florida [music] were dispatched to 8th Avenue West for a single vehicle crash. Emma, Emma, no. No, that's not even your car. Go sit over here. When they arrived, they found something that looked less like a traffic accident and more like [music] a demolition project. >> It's coming from this this direction and there was a silver Mustang that was just like kind of crawling really slow. And so naturally I looked like why why is this car going so slow? >> Okay. I saw this. >> So you didn't see the crash? >> not see the crash. >> Okay. A Jeep Cherokee had left the roadway, [music] driven through the wall of a building, traveled through a patio on the other side, exited through the opposite wall. Inside the Jeep, behind the wheel, covered in dust and debris, but somehow uninjured, was a 19-year-old girl. She was dazed. She was confused. And in her pocket was an ID that did not belong to her. Is it just the one vehicle? There was a silver Mustang that was driving really slow. So I just came from downtown and as I was approaching there was a silver Mustang in front of crawling. Is she breathing okay? But and they circled back and drove by again. So I don't know if they just witnessed it or if they were involved in how she came cuz she came from two blocks. 8th Avenue West in Palmetto is not a highway. It is not a high-speed corridor. It is a residential street in a small Florida city where the speed limit is low and the buildings are close to the road. I see that. Okay, thanks. Yes. She's with you though. Are you okay? I'm fine. I just saw it, so. >> Okay. Not like saw the accident, just saw her. Does anything hurt? No? Do you know what happened? Okay. All right. Okay. Like that? Yeah, it's occupied one time. Hey sweetie, do you want me to call anybody for you? Officers approaching the scene would have seen a Jeep Cherokee sitting in a field of [music] debris with a concrete column resting on its roof. The wall behind it had a hole in it shaped like a vehicle. I see that. Yeah. Okay. Yes. 828. Are you okay? I'm fine. I just saw it, so >> Okay. Not like saw the accident, just walked over. Does anything hurt? No? Do you know what happened? Okay. All right. Okay. 828. Yeah, it's occupied one time. Hey sweetie, do you want me to call anybody for you? This is my witness. She's not bleeding. >> There's a female inside the car. Hey, you might want to be careful with this too. Yeah. The wall in front of it had a matching hole, and inside [music] the Jeep, somehow alive, somehow uninjured, somehow still conscious, was a 19-year-old girl staring through a cracked [music] windshield at a world she had just rearranged. >> Yeah. Ma'am, why don't you step out here? Yeah, I'm going to stand right here, okay? Does anything hurt at all? No? We're going to get you out of the car, okay? 40-43, we're going to be at 615 8th Avenue West, Silver Spring. Okay. Huh? Do you want to go to parking lot? Yeah. Yeah, her vehicle is inside of Okay, come on. the parking lot here, and it's going to be Silver Spring Police Department notified by dispatch. Okay. 828. Okay, I got your arm, okay? Yeah. I just need you to take a step. Okay. Okay. Whatever happened on 8th Avenue [music] West, she was the only person responsible for it. Okay, come over here. She can sit in the back of the car. Okay, if you don't mind. Yeah. Silver Spring. Silver Spring. Are these the only two here? Yeah, she's a witness. One car involved. >> insurance. We got about four poles that were hit as well. We're going into a 25 make out. Palmetto, I might have missed it. Did anybody run the 28 yet? The DUI investigation began, and then officers found something that added an entirely new dimension to the evening. What did you see? I saw like that was coming from this this direction and there was a silver Mustang that was just like kind of crawling like really slow. And so naturally I look and like why why is this car going so slow? And that's when I saw this. >> So you didn't see the crash? >> not see the crash. So but then I didn't see any other car so I pulled in and then I saw she was in the car. So I called 911. But that Mustang did circle back and go back again. So Okay. >> if they were involved or just saw it and trying to see like Yeah. She's in the back of Yeah. Okay. Did you ask her what happened? Not yet? I asked if she remembers. She said In Emma Kinkle's [music] possession was a driver's license or identification card that was not her. It was false. It was forged. It was a fake ID. Emma Kinkle is 19 years old. The legal drinking [music] age in the United States is 21. Hey, what's your name? Emma Kinkle I'm sorry? Emma Kinkle Emma Kinkle? That's your name? Kinkle, yes. Okay. Um are you okay? Yeah. Do you feel hurt anywhere? No. Okay. Do you We have ambulance here. Do you want to see them? Are you sure? Yes. How old are you? 19 19 Okay. She's right. Hi there. What's your name? There's no other passengers. But Emma Kinkle was not done making decisions because what happened next is the reason this body cam footage [music] went viral. Definitely got structural damage though. This and the next bill business over there. Four posts are missing. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. She looks like she plowed right through here. And she hit like four posts. Yeah. She's right here. She had no not even a scratch on her. Did you guys see the crash? Uh-huh. What was the car that you saw? This car? While officers were [music] processing the scene, Emma Kinkle decided that she did not want to be there anymore. So you saw it go over the bridge it already had flat tire? >> Yeah. So you saw this car already come over the bridge this way with flat tires? >> Yes. And then it crashed? >> Yes. Okay. All right. All right. What's your name, sir? Do you mind if I use you or not? She simply tried to get into a stranger's [music] vehicle and leave the scene of a crash she had caused. It's possible she hit something in Bradenton first. We're hearing that she might have come over the bridge with flat tires already. Do you want to contact them? No. Uh, there's a Corona there. There is? Mhm. Is it a bottle cap or a whole bottle? It's a half full bottle. Nice. Sorry, doll. There is in the car is one Corona. Emma. Emma. Emma. No. No. That's not even your car. Go sit over here. Go over there. You see that? Go sit. >> to figure out who's getting in my car. That's not your car. That's your car. You don't even know what you did tonight, do you? Go Go take a seat. Go take a seat. Go take a seat. I'm Go take a seat. I'm standing. Can you figure out who's Emma Kinkle was placed under arrest. She was handcuffed and transported to the Manatee [music] County Jail for booking. Not in this, but it's possible she could have hit something prior to getting here. Sure. I didn't see any injuries on her. I don't think I did. Did you use any of the alcohol in there? Do you know what day it is? What day is it? You have Friday. Yeah. What was that? 245. were standing 10 ft away with body cams [music] recording every second. Officers stopped her. So, we're going to do a series of tests, okay? We're going to check your eyes. Do you consent to these? All right. Do you see my pen? Do you see my pen? Right in front of you? Do you see the tip of it right here where my finger is? Okay. So, what I need you to do I need you to keep your hands by your side. I need you to stare at the tip of this pen and you're going to follow it with your eyes and your eyes only. Do you understand that? Okay. Continued with using that document to purchase alcohol, escalated with getting behind the wheel, and [music] ended with two destroyed buildings and a column on her roof. Okay, that was the first test. The next test is going to be a walk and turn, okay? You're going to need to walk in a straight line. Do you have anything with your injuries, with your legs, anything that would prevent you from walking in a straight line? Okay. All right. Just I'm going to have you take a few steps over here. On this line I want you to put your left foot and then your right foot right in front of it, heel to toe. Can you do that for me? Just like I'm doing? Let's start over cuz I want you to start on the line, okay? Yeah, right. Left foot on the line. Huh? Right foot, heel to toe. Can you do that for me? Okay. The moment she tried to get into a stranger's car and leave as if the two buildings she had just driven [music] through were someone else's problem. >> Okay, you can start. Yeah. Okay. I'll call it out. Okay. Emma, put your hands behind your back, please. Emma, at this point at this point you're under arrest for suspected DUI. >> Okay. Read read him his You sure one's active here?
