So, if Tim was dead, then the boys would be able to talk? >> They can't talk. >> Is that what you're saying? >> I'm guessing, yes. >> Okay. >> Yes, because there's no more threat. >> Do you want Tim dead? >> Honest honest, I don't want him never more see the boys. That's what I wish. >> I know I know that's what you're >> Because I want us to split. >> But do you want Tim dead? >> Mhm. >> On June 2nd, 2020, in Skagit County, Washington, Vanessa Valdeglisias Laval was brought in for questioning after a secret recording from a child visit. The person named on that tape was her former husband, Timothy Grady. Spoiler details are in the video description, and the full results of all charges in the case are laid out at the end of the video. >> Honest, I was couple charged relationship. [clears throat] I was so difficult, and he hurt his arm. I was in jail. I was talked to the police. He never I never do that. I don't know what happened. He's in jail or when we moved to the I I say jail or whatever. I don't know, honest. But he called the police, he accused me, I was in jail. Well, my husband, he does it is for violent domestic criminal case. And he does say, "Oh, she's a criminal. She was in jail." Yes, I was in jail because this person accused me when I'm not doing nothing. Okay. And he after that, he accused me about CPS because he has a record. And that's put together to to the court, to the judge, to the jail and because exist the evidence, no? Because that's not true. The case was closed in Everett. They robbed me in here. But it's for him out of the phone. But I have the reason because I know I want to go to jail because I'm not doing nothing. When I I am very responsible something I do, well, I say I do. When I don't doing, well, I'm honest and say I don't doing. Yeah, I don't do. Uh Roberto comes to me and he confessed, "I never do that." And this is his close in Everett in the We have a and case is closed and everything. But yeah, when after that, you guys say yes, I was in jail. And he was in jail in 2010 because he was in 2010 jail. He was teaching to the kids and he I was teaching to my boy for many years when they were little, don't respect me. Kicking me, insulting me. The same words where he used for many years my boys calling me that. I said that's not right. I would say he's abusive and sexual. I don't know if he abused or touched inappropriately or doing something wrong. Because he's he is crazy, he's drinking, he was uh drugs for many years. I don't know if he continued that, but when he has drugs, something happened. Yeah, don't trust to this Mr. Bradley. I just say report constantly, but nothing happened. And this is She also said, I worry for he don't supervise because I just say one supervise. He doesn't say he's worrying for he she don't supervise because he don't trust he doesn't say oh she's a dangerous person. He I want killed because I was talking about the incident first when I was in the hospital. After that, he told me about he doesn't say oh because she has [clears throat] was in jail because for some ex-boyfriend he put me in jail. And better nothing happened. And after that, he again oh look at that. We have the video for she hurt two children because Jamie breaker I give the video. Case is totally fake. And this is video this say I supervise the boys and has he showed nothing telling them of broken his arm. Because I don't break anything in his place. We said to his father multiple years ago. >> Mhm. >> The relationship between Tim and the roommate Jamie, because Jamie she like to the record her. She like why? What is the reason she record? Watching what was going on her house throughout the table when the boys talking each other. And she didn't appreciate this. Yeah, she record constantly because she need to accuse me. >> But I said all this this stuff that we're talking about, this stuff's all been reported already, right? And documented and all that. >> Yeah, everything is reported already. >> Let's Let's talk about what we we talked about on Friday. >> Yeah, but I need to you understand everything after >> I think I understand there's a lot a lot of stuff going on and a lot of history there, right? But all of this stuff has already been reported somewhere, right? The Guardian ad Litem has it, it's been reported to the judge already at least to the court. >> this is this is the way they accuse me. And what he does say here, listen what he want. I'm lying all the time in court. And once more go to jail. So, they want to see me in jail. And he abused for many many years. Some 11 years he abused for so own child. >> Okay. >> If this is we need to continue to accepting that he has full custody. The court they don't know he move. Suppose he The court knows and the GL they know they they live in Cedar and they don't live in Cedar. They live in Marmol Mountains far away alone. >> Can you tell us about the living conditions there? What are the What is it like living there? >> Mountains. >> Tell us about that house. >> The house is a little house very tiny. I never go in person but I see in video. It's so dirty very dirty. They have rats, animals, insects. It's so gross and mold. >> How do you know there's rats there? >> Because I see when the Because they are show me video first. >> Your kids show you videos? Or who showed you the video? >> you remember that I told you every day in the mornings I talk to my boys. First I say good morning, how are you my boys? He has a picture when I talk to my boys. >> Oh, it's like on FaceTime. >> Yeah, FaceTime all the time. That's I just say, "Boys, how are you?" And they say, "Okay, Mom." They don't they say nothing because I just say "friend". And he is manipulation. And I'm not surprised because I know my husband very well. He not can lie to me. I tell to my boys, "Okay." And that time, my husband he uh he show me he's uh the place. The place is very very short. I think so they have only one bedroom. They sleep in one bedroom. Uh the boys start a little bit talking, a little bit, not so much. And that's what happened two or three weeks past. They told me, "Mom, I don't like where we living." I have right and I know he has right because uh it's a house on the mountains. He's living in the mountains. They have animals. Uh they just say they have a spider. They have a spider because he's a bad spider. I buy a pets, too. But they have insects, uh spiders. I say "Clean." I don't like what they're doing. Okay, they can learning to they doing to cleaning, helping, no? Because they are they are grow up. But he pay to the boys for they cleaning, organizing, fixing, washing, and they cook. Nine years old, he was cooking. He cooking, Josiah. The eight years old, they cooking. I said "Be careful. I don't want to fire and everything that." And that last year, he has a bruise over Yeah. Uh the big bruise. >> So they don't You know there's rats there because the boys told you about the rats? >> Yeah. Mhm. >> Have you Have they done anything or has him done anything to get rid of the rats? >> No. No, no. They are not animals that way. This is happening in his house. How? I don't know how. >> So you just think you just know there's rats there because the boys told you. >> Yeah. Mhm. >> Okay. >> Because it's dirty here, too. They They to look and supervise. I just I talked to Timothy. Timothy doesn't have to do what you need for yourself and for the kids. We are friends because in 2017 he doesn't he almost he passed away because his leg he remember I said that. I will say Okay, we are together. Uh friends but there is nothing else. I think so okay he changed. But it's fake because when he didn't tell me October in November 2019 that's happened. I will say no I don't trust this person. But I don't have evidence because they not talk. But I see they coming constantly duty. He has a pictures constantly. They coming duty. They coming This is what I buy because all the time I provide. I buy shoes. I buy clothes. They never use. I say where is the clothes boy use that? They use for the same clothes for one week the same duty and older I say >> When did When did Tim get full custody? >> Uh he got a full custody >> All right. >> Thank you for your time. The last year. >> So last year? >> Yeah. Last year. Suppose they need to go to the school and what they they say the parent to parent where they recommendation and they just say is the boy they need to spend time if the kid is clear. So this will not happen. I was take that class ready for the the class for parenting the divorcing everything done. I doing ready. I paying you money. Suppose the boys they need to stay Tuesday after school until 7:30 and Saturday or Sundays they 10:00 a.m. at 3:00 p.m. Never happen. Also her weekends for they visit me they need to stay there 9:00 a.m. at 7:30. Never happen. >> She has to report all that to the court. >> Yeah, I need to report that. This is now I doing. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Mr. Grady, he don't do he he no pay first where they receive because he now is full custody. I decide [clears throat] I controlling and he bring me when he want. Sometimes Sundays coming, sometimes no. He say, "Okay, I bring Tuesday." Sometimes not Tuesday, it's Wednesday. >> Are you telling all this to the court? Have you told this to the >> that. I I start to decide. >> You have to tell this to the court. >> Yes. >> The court takes care of >> Cuz we don't get to say anything about parenting plans. >> No, yes, I tell on the report for the and after that the report I need to the police to know that, to the judge know that. >> Are you [laughter] giving this to the court in writing? >> Yeah, I do. >> Okay. >> To the this is the this is where I lose my voice and the parenting plan change and he no obey the parenting plan. Okay. I was talk to my boys >> Mhm. >> all the time when they were baby and then now okay they are 11 years old and 8 years old. Everything. The positive and negative, the real life. Okay, we are in this is this world. Exist people dangerous, exist people good people and bad people. Exist people hurts and I don't like people abuse and take advantage or revenge where where where he doing. Um I making appointments to the doctors. He no bring to the boys to the doctor. I bring to the to the appointments to the counseling and he take them away from the counseling. What is the reason? Because she recommendation the boys need counseling. >> Mhm. >> They no go to counseling. Supposedly he knows in court he everybody in court they knows kids he living in Cedar Woods. He don't report he about the law they just say, "When you move, you need to report to the court and to me keep where he move." >> Mhm. >> Supposedly he is sick he He to the surgery. He not doing. This is happen for 3 years, he not doing. But he he need he is sick, he is disabled. And he haven't got a full custody. And he carrying the boys when he never carrying and the boys is only carrying himself. They has a incident what happened to Josiah in his leg. What happened? They not decide nothing. We are talking and they start to say I don't like to living with my dad. >> When was this? >> 2 weeks past. >> 2 weeks ago. >> Yeah. 2 weeks ago. >> When did they move to When did Tim move to Barmwell? >> Uh I think so. When he finished the class last year. When he finished the class they go to the vacation in December, I think so. >> Oh, after when they left there? >> the last year. >> So they left a while. So they left there for like over a year. >> Almost over the year, yeah. Mhm. Yeah. That uh I see they are not good. And they start Mommy, I don't like to living that way. I said I know boys. I was talk to him before I said Timothy, please, 3 or last or 3 months before I you said Timothy, we can't living together. If here is a place cleaning, organizing, fixing, we can stay together and the way they have because I want to stay with my boys. Yeah, not because something happen, but they not the same because they >> They are so scared. >> Okay. I don't know how can help in my boys. Because I prove the evidence what I have. The police they know that. CPS know that. But on my kids they not can decide nothing. It is a happen the 2009 and the 2020. So 11 years. And nothing is solution. He's continue to see the boys. >> Do you think it's just Is it maybe how you and Tim have different You have different parenting [clears throat] ideas? You think the boys should be raised one way and Tim thinks the boys should be raised a different way? >> No. No, mister. What happened is everybody we raise our kids. You have how you You have your style life. Everybody has their own style. But I don't agree cuz you can't hurt your boys physical, emotional, or verbal. That's I don't agree. >> So, it's not It's not that he's just raising them the wrong >> What he accused me and reported the police and the CPS in court is totally 100% lying. >> Okay. >> Okay? He accused me. I defend myself. I defend my boys. Yeah, I was winning. But when I have that the case gets open and they don't close yet the case, they just they think oh, it's better that okay, Timoteo has the boys. >> That's the CPS case? >> They closed the case already because they don't find any >> Okay. >> evidence, nothing. [clears throat] >> Okay. >> And the case is closed already last year because I I have I was have a restraining for my boys. It is this this is uh because I was telling him, I remember, he told me many times come back with me. I said, "No." Why is the reason he want back when he talking badly in front of everybody? The authorities, friends, families. He's He's He lying to my boys. And the boys knows about the case and the CPS report. I have that one and the also to the GL, they have that one. And they decide how two children Okay, they know about the court because they know for me. I never mention about happen. It's Timoteo. >> they How are they Do they listen to you? Do they They directions? >> Now, yes. >> Now, when they're with you though, they listen or >> No, that's totally different. They're my boys and they never never never They can't tell me, "Mommy, I love you." And frankly, stop. Never they can't express love to their free >> How about when they're just with you though? >> When they're with me, everything is better. >> Everything's better. >> We talking. We They respect me. They listen me. They listen, "Please, Mommy. Thank you, Mommy. I love you, Mommy." >> And if you ask them to do something, will they do it? >> Yeah, they do it. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Mhm. >> So, they listen. >> Yeah, they They take a while. They're good boys. They have values and principles. They know where they are and where they are from. But the existence of that evil monster, which is my husband, to own that. Cuz he treated for many years bad and he used to the boys to lie because the boys was lying. And after that, I said, "Timothy John Grady, honest yourself first. Honest to God. Honest yourself Honest to everybody. You lie at everybody." You can't lie to You have a God in front of you. Remember that. You are sick to us. Hurt your conscience to why you lie to to everybody. When you know scared I know about my guy I know about >> when the boys were When the boys were in school, how were they doing in school? >> They don't go to school now. >> No, but Oh, when they were going to school. >> Oh, they have report about Solomon kids aggressive explosion and everything that. That's not normal. That's happened when he was with my boys when he put me the restraint. He's supposed to say he's carrying to principal because I give to that way. And they and and and they have a compass. So, you reading the compass, they have the report where happened. reacting to to angry and everything that. >> When you talk to When you talk to he understands everything you're saying though. He knows what you're saying and >> No, 100% but something when I know can't to do that something in English I don't in Spanish because they are bilingual. >> Yeah. >> But his first language is in first and the second language is Spanish. They reading, speaking, and writing both language. They very smart and very proud for my boys. I working so hard with my kids for many years and want raise my boys. Yeah, I want my boys back. >> [clears throat] >> What I wish is that Timothy John Graden no more see the boys. Because he is the problem and he is he accused me when he is the person he doing. >> So, if something was to happen to Tim, then you get the boys back? >> Yes. >> Sounds like you tried everything. You said you don't know how to help them anymore. Is that >> It looks like you've done a lot here. >> Yeah. For many years and you never seen that. Just so I different. I am different because okay, just so I blanco. Because you estoy blanco. I am the white. E I grande big you not see in Washington. I was born in Washington. My traditional family is me traditional family is me mama and me perro. We have a doggy. My mom and my doggy. E me hermano and my brother. My activity my activity actividad favorita is jugar football. My activity favorite is playing soccer. Me mascota preferida es un perro. My favorite favorite pet is my dog. He try and no mention his dad. And here also the the police and the criminal. He said this is a membership member that that the community gives a hand for the police to helping to the peoples and strong and attractive to the criminals. They if they arrive in England >> Pretty neat, yeah. >> and they doing that. And that's is where take it. My boys are happy with me. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, I want to prove and that's a report for many years. I want my boys back. I'm so worried for them. >> Would you do Would you do anything to get your boys back? >> I try the possible and possible. I give chance for him her two boys to treat them with respect and love. >> Do you feel like you're you're out of options? >> They told me a little bit more two three weeks before and they say, "Mom, my dad sometimes is weird. I know him." I said, "Boys, I know this person for many years of manipulation, controlling. I know he can use scary, but you need to decide the true what happened." I tell many stories, many reality happens in the life. I this this is a happen. This is people's is abuse for many years. Never stop. Or you report the police and this is a stop. Sometimes the person go to jail, no matter what. But sometimes they are scary and they not they say nothing. And that's what I say happen that the person can kill him or whatever is. He is sick. And they say, "Mom, my dad is sick." But you don't need to compassion when somebody else treat me bad. >> [snorts] >> You're saying you don't need to have compassion for somebody when they treat you badly? Is that what you said? >> Sorry, no. I'm not accepting somebody else to treat treat me badly somebody else. No matter what age, no matter what culture, no matter nothing. I'm so tired for that. And my boys they are tired. They tell me that. And they don't like living with him. I have to say for many years of 11 years, I know [snorts] who is him. I know how he treat me. And he tried to stay away. He want to put me in jail. He went to my boys, but he don't know. He know he's good dad. Sorry, but it's true. >> So, you're just frustrated with this process of everything you've had to go through. Sounds like that's what I sound or hear. Yeah. >> Honest, you see. >> Were you Were you >> I fighting for good I protecting my boys. >> Were you surprised when we came and talked [snorts] to you on Friday? And he put rat poison in Tim's wine. Were you surprised by that? Did you think he would do it? >> not surprised, honest. I'm being honest. I told the truth. >> Did you think he would do it? >> Honest, I know my boys. >> Mhm. >> I don't know if he 100% if they doing. But you see I am [snorts] in the position of boys. I just say boys, I am in that position. So, my daddy hurt me constantly in doing that. What's I doing? Because I'm so scared. And I don't want this person killing my mom or my brother or me. I don't want that happen because he treated them for many years. He had to report him. I know about Timothy. >> So, when you that about the wine and all that, did you think he would do it? >> [snorts] >> I don't know if he could do it, honest. I don't know. >> What did you Did you want him to do it? >> Huh? >> Did you want him to do it? Did you want him to put that in his wine? >> [snorts] >> I told to my boys many examples that happen in the life in the real life. >> [snorts] >> I just say many people abuse sexual, emotional, verbal, physical. Um confused to the children. And this is so over over. It never over. It's constantly for many years. You I have three options. Or you report the police and tell the truth, no matter what. And this is the end. And the person go to jail. >> [snorts] >> Or the person never more see. It this over. Or this person die. Because he say he need to do surgery. Um we don't know. We only pray for us stay together again. Or somebody can kill me. >> Okay. And so kind of kind of the options that I see though is report it to the police. >> Yeah, I do it for many years. >> reported to the police and and you don't feel like anything has happened. >> No. >> Right. Um not see that person anymore, right? But that's obviously not happening because Tim still sees the boys, right? >> He has come up two, three times. >> Cuz he has custody of them. Well, cuz he has custody of them. So, those two options are gone, right? So, your only option left is what? To kill him? >> [snorts] >> It's only option. No other option. I don't want to something more happens for my boys only. >> So, that's the only option is >> you think so, I can't kill him my boy and my kids. Or or or or too much younger lady. When we living together, he was I can't have a chance to do it. I never do it. >> [snorts] >> What I doing is doing the news to him and put the report and everything that. >> Cuz it sounds like when when you guys were living together, you were doing all this stuff. You were reporting everything. >> Yeah, I doing everything that. >> And and you weren't getting the results. >> everything. >> Yeah, you weren't getting the results that you wanted. >> Mhm. >> So, but if Tim was dead, then there'd be no more of this, right? You'd have your boys. >> No, my boys wouldn't >> Was that Was that what you were hoping for? That is >> I wish >> When you when you about the wine and the rat poison is that what you were thinking? Was it that if he did this and Tim died, then you would you would get the boys? >> so he die doing because they know they know has nothing toxic in the house. They just say "Mommy, no. We cleaning everything. We doing everything home. We cleaning. We cooking. And we need to do even any stuff, my brother and me." >> Yeah, go back to that. You said something about toxic stuff in the house. >> They don't have toxic stuff >> They don't have any toxic stuff in the house. >> I don't know what told me. I said no >> How did that >> come up? Did you ask Did you ask him or >> Yeah, I asked him >> Okay. "Are you cleaning the How How are you cleaning? You have toxic bleach and stuff you put in." He said, "No, Mom. We cleaning, but our house is always is dirty. Our house is mess and everything there." >> How would you think with the rat poison and how would he how he get rat poison? >> Oh. No, I just say "veneno" in Spanish and he he understand that. I say, "Okay, I want to say to say Okay, you like drinking and he's crazy and he knows everything. I know he made happy for many many past and this is continue. We need to stop. Or you told the truth what happened and he's so hard. I know okay your voice is scary and okay this person is confused to you and that's not right. >> [snorts] >> You see you know the news this person is constantly abuse and he want to take away and he doing right. I can be seen now, but later never more I see my boys. I don't want to he continue to abuse my kids. After I said "Boys, you waiting for 3 5 years when you decide." He said, "Okay, 16 years old you can decide. Okay, now I decide just. I don't want my dad." But he was abuse for 16 years. >> Yeah, and you don't You don't want to You don't want to wait till they're 16. >> No, I don't want that. I want it [snorts] now. >> Okay. So, how would >> I'm working. >> do that. put something in in terms one. What would he use? >> Um Um I don't know because I'm not living in the house. I don't know what do they have. Poison or bleach, I don't know. >> Yeah. >> Cuz I don't know nothing and nothing. >> Cuz you don't live there, yeah? >> No, I'm not living there. I don't know nothing and nothing. But I I tell him I say "Mommy, we no No, we are no security around that because we don't have neighborhood or one one neighborhood that way, but they are drinks and there are alcohol and they scary. And Timothy they all everything open the doors, everything. >> Do you do that? >> Honest? >> Yeah, honest. >> No. I don't know why. >> Why would you tell him then? >> But but I don't know agree. But I I exist. I have two options. One is positive, one is negative. I don't know agree for killing people. >> Okay. >> But when people killing, it sees the reason why. >> Okay. >> If the people they need to investigation why the person do that. I know about my story, it's my own story. It not only me, it's many people all over the world. If I denounce, this is possible I denounce public all over the world, but I need my voice back. >> [snorts] >> I tell my voice you need voice to tell the truth. So you not tell the truth, you dead. I know he he is controlling for many years. His manipulation, he obligating to doing stuff he does not right. He pretend fake it that he is a good dad. He say, "I love you my voice." But he hurt. In the past he doesn't sorry my voice for many things he doing. I don't know why he doing. >> you think this this situation would be a situation where it would be okay to kill somebody? >> In that situation, see I and me, see I and me in the position of what? I do. >> You think it's acceptable? >> No, he is killing. No more killing. No, no, no. See I am child with my boy. You understand? See I am me with my child. See I am child. What's that? I putting that choosing my boy. See I Okay. E E I know okay my mom E can be in dangerous situation or my brother and myself. Okay? E I know can't talk. Because I'm scary. But what I doing, I doing that. Sorry. >> So did you just feel like you were giving them an option kind of? Like >> For me? See, I am child, honest I do. Say I am, I do. And it's the end. >> So you were providing like a a way to get out of the situation? >> Yeah, from a monster. >> [snorts] >> Away from the monster? >> He's a monster, man. >> How would you feel if if this actually happened? How would you did do that? If you did kill Tim. >> Me? Honest, I was talking to my boys many years past, many many years. I never talk about killing him. It was never my life. I never thinking about that. But I say see see it's possible to kill him, boys, I doing somebody hurt me in that in that situation. But I was talking to my boys, boys, I advise my boys everything positive and negative, what is right, what is wrong. I was talking about our science and this is not, this is not appropriate. They think so they are gay and they are not gays. And they dry and had all the dries. This is what they do me. And they have many many dry in everything that. And writing in everything that. And that's a that is weird because of course they are not happy and they are they were doing and everything that. And try to thinking what happened. And that was they put their mommy at was. But after that later put it to daddy, but the daddy put it far away and my all the time because I have >> So you just want to be back with the boys. You just want your boys. That's what you want. >> want >> my kids. Nothing. I don't want money. I don't want nothing. Only my boys. >> So, on Friday when we met and I and I and I told you that Tim was dead, what was the first thing that you thought? What was your feeling when I when I told you that? >> My boys and we are freedom. >> You felt like you guys were free? >> Freedom, 100%. >> You You didn't feel sad or >> A little bit sad. >> And you didn't feel happy or you just felt like you >> Not only happy and not sad. Only I just felt we are freedom. >> Okay. >> Boys, now we are happy and our life is changed. >> And now you can be together. Okay. It's not a >> [snorts] >> It's not a crime. This is a This is a frustrating situation. So, in your mind when you were how to do this, >> [snorts] >> um is that what That's what you wanted to have happen? >> I don't know anything. I was talking with many peoples, men and women about that. >> [snorts] >> I was tell my story and people say people just say I know people can't kill him. They say I don't have to do that. No. Only want the boys that decide the truth. >> [snorts] >> And that's it. >> So, so you talked to other people >> For many years. >> You talked to other people about having Tim killed before this? >> When I told to this my story to the men, most of men they just say okay, I think so this is nervous story. I said no nervous story. It's only the reason why he passed away. He say he's older. I know he's older. I know and this is happened for many years. I wish he never see the boys. I want he live but he never see the boys never more. To protect my boys until he my boys they're adult. 14, 15. Today they size. I never begin in something my boys to doing. Always I say I ask my boys they want to do it. When I need to tell boys, my boys you need to stop, you need to stop. They stop. >> [snorts] >> I tell my boys it's better to decide the truth and to do it right. The right is called the police report. He is the same. Therefore one reason they don't want to decide. >> [snorts] >> You know, because he's manipulation. This is scary. I know he treated me like I was a baby. Oh, until now they're 11 years old. My older boy and my older boy is is 8 years old. And he knows how my the baby died. And I say, "Mom, my dad is a different." Honestly, my boy, I have the document I report that. We have a [snorts] violent domestic for many years. >> Just a second ago you said you wanted the boys to decide. [clears throat] When you said No, no, no. People talked No, about the people talked about when you told them your story about you they could kill him. They could kill him. >> No, no, no, no. I never said kill him. I >> No, no, no. I misunderstood that. >> No. That is communication. When I I talked to the friends and people in general, I told the truth. I have violent domestic and this is my story and that's the reason I divorced and no more I put the protecting for myself and my kids. I said this is never stop. It's constantly yes. When is it stop? When is it stop? When is over? >> Right. >> That's it. When I think is when he die. >> Okay. >> He's He's 62 years old. He's sick. He need to operation. He has problems and he hate me. I don't hate my husband. I don't hate nobody else. Honest. I forgive him what he doing. It's the past. >> That's tough. Yeah. >> But I not accepting to abuse. You not come abuse me. If he can abuse some kids. >> Sure. >> [snorts] >> You know when this is over, honest, I want this is over. I want there are no more see him. No more he raise or controlling or manipulating relation on the phone. No. >> So you thought >> Because [snorts] 6 months before in 2016 he he not see the boys for 6 months. My boys they are happy. >> Yeah. >> I never mention any good any bad. I raise my boys therapies and everything that and they are okay. >> When I met you when we met you on Friday night and I told you he was dead, did you believe me? >> I don't know. I don't know because this is a little confused, but I don't know. Need to do investigation and you say that I'm honest, not sure the truth. >> No, I'm asking you that. When I when I told you when I when I told you that he was dead, did you think that he was? >> Accidents happens all the time. I don't know. It's true or not because after later you say no. >> Yeah, but when I first told you in the very beginning, before I told you that he was still alive, did you think he was dead? When I first told you? >> I was a little surprised, but I say God he knows what happened. Somebody doing or my kids doing, but I don't know me. >> Not you. You didn't do it. >> No, I not doing. I was told, but I not say doing boys doing. No. >> Did [snorts] you when I told you that she did it? What you guys talked about? >> I was talking, but I not just say 100% boys doing. No. I just say only examples. >> I'm not I'm not I'm not saying that, but I'm what I'm telling you say say is that like when you talked when I talked to you on Friday and said that that Timmy passed away, did you think that what you talked about may have may have happened? About poisoning the wine. Did Is that what you thought? >> Um maybe. I don't know. >> You don't know what you thought then? >> No, I don't know. No, I don't >> No. Okay. How come when I called you, you called them right away? Why were they the first to >> Oh, no. Honest, I call my boys every time. And the guy tell me between because I can't prove to you. I call my boys all the time and video the website. >> But it's just a little strange that you would call them right after I called you. >> No. Not necessarily when you called me to about after that. No, because I have to prove to you here is the where I calling every day. Timothy Timothy John Gray. Not for him, you know, for my kids. Timothy Gray. Every morning between 9:00 and 10:00 in the 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. I call. Every morning. Good morning, boy. Hi, boys. >> So, you just happened to call them after I called you? >> Just normal. It was normal for you to call them after I called you. >> Because you don't tell me nothing about that. You didn't tell me nothing. >> They didn't answer They didn't answer the phone you called? >> No, they don't answer. The phone is was off. >> Did you leave a message or anything? >> No, the phone is off. >> Oh, you can't leave a message at all if the phone is off. Okay. >> You said you gave him other examples when you're talking about the poisoning and everything. Did you say you gave them other examples? >> No, no, no. I give them No, no, no. >> Okay, I must have just misheard you. Okay. >> [snorts] >> That was the only example you gave him? >> No, only I just say that's happening because I see I see people saying and they say when they reasons happens why people killing, they need to investigation why why the person acting that what happened. >> So, if but was to do that and was to kill Tim. Your your first feeling would be that you were free, that you and the boys were free? >> Yes, I yeah. Naturally. >> Okay. Would you be sad if Tim was dead? >> Mhm. Adrian, uh I Uh I wish to see him in person. Because many years passed, two or three years passed, I was thinking I I can't help with my husband. No matter what he do me in the past, I forgive him. I help him. I was helping with my uh stamp food. I gave my car. And I just said okay, he's older. Anyway, everybody we mistake and we are not perfect. I think so he changed because he was pretending he changed but he don't change. >> [snorts] >> I just said okay, we are together but with friends only. But I want my boys cuz he see because it's part of life. I told to him the life is short, Tim. You are sick. God gave the chance because the first time you almost died for your life. But now you are you you have opportunity for raise your boys. We don't know how long we are but you need to to raise your boys for keep a good memories. Past is past, forget the past, sorry for the past. Our relationship not working out. I forgive you, you forgive me and we are need to to stay uh peaceful. No waste the time or waste the life in fighting. I know life fighting. I forgiving. >> Yeah, you sounds like you've done enough fighting. >> No. And that's I'm not doing nothing legal. I can't do it. When I was today inside of the life of my son, then I see my boys not happy and everything that. >> Yeah. >> I know why nothing my voice happens. >> So Vanessa could you >> I lose my voice. >> So for me like in in my head just looking at this is that you want to protect your voice. >> I protect my voice 100%. >> about your voice and you want to protect it. >> kids, yeah. >> And you don't like the situation that they're in right now. >> For many years. >> You're very frustrated with all the all the work you've done for years. You're very frustrated and kind of just fed up and you're just done. >> I prove >> You're but you're nothing works for you yet and so you're just done done done. >> Mhm. >> So the way I see it is that with you telling that example is you wanted him to do that. That you wanted him to put that poison in Tim's wine. >> Um >> That's what I see. >> It's something uh honest. No, it's my decision. >> Mhm. >> I not be getting my voice to do that. The bigger higher I know that person to do that. >> You what? >> I know the person to obligating manipulation to do that. >> Uh-huh. >> I cannot you cannot buy it. You make decisions. You doing or not doing. Nobody obligating to doing nothing. It doesn't teach you my boy. Nobody obligating to doing nothing. >> But earlier you told me that your boys follow directions and they listen to to you. Right? >> Well, I don't know say they following direction because I have they never obey me. They obey him. Timothy. >> A little a little bit earlier when I asked you when the boys are with you if they if they listen to you you told me they did. >> No. >> I think I even actually wrote a note down about it. >> Excuse me? >> I think I even wrote a note down about it. You said the boys follow your directions and they listen and they're good boys. >> What what does that mean? Wait a minute because my boys are not living with me. >> When they're with you. >> But what addition? >> When they're with you. Do the boys listen to >> yourself and everything. >> Listen, besides that do they listen to you? >> They listen to me? >> When the boys with you. When you tell the boys brush your teeth or >> Mhm. I do say all the time brush your teeth. >> Do they listen to you? >> In my house, yes. >> Yes. So did they follow your directions? >> Well, I don't know if they follow. No, because they are dirty. >> When they're with you, when they're specifically with you. >> Oh, in my house? Yes. >> with you, when you tell the boys when you tell the boys to do something in your house, do they do it? >> Mhm. >> Okay. So that's what I'm getting at. If you tell if him to do something, right? He he doesn't give give you a reason not to believe that he would do it. Right? Cuz he listens to you. When you give him directions at your house on what to do, he does it at your house. He listens to you. >> Yeah. >> Right? So by giving him this plan right? It's basically saying, "Hey, do this." >> Mhm. >> Right? >> I'm sorry. >> So I would think I would think in his brain is, "Mom's telling me to do this." So that to do, he's going to go out and do this. Because he listens to the directions that mom gives him. >> Because we the three we feeling the same. >> Yeah. >> We are not happy. >> Right. >> We have somebody else hurt to us. >> Yeah, I hear that I hear that you guys aren't happy and that you Yeah. So your goal though by to do that was to get him to do that. Your goal was to put that poison in the wine and have him drink it. >> First my first option on the first I decide for many many year is I decide to tell the truth or report the police for many years. >> I understand that. I know I know. I know. And all that, report it. >> The second >> Yeah. >> The second option I was thinking about that. >> You were thinking about >> First, I put the poison poison in [snorts] his drinking. He drinking and bye-bye. No more hurt, no more pain, no more abuse. >> Yeah. >> No more violent domestic. >> I understand that. And you were thinking about doing that? >> Not myself. >> Not yourself? >> Because they are not with me. Better I protecting all the time. I report all the time. I say no more he see my boys anymore. >> Okay. So, did you to do it because you don't you wouldn't have a chance to do it? Yeah. >> myself. >> No. Put the poison in his drink? >> I was to give examples. >> Example? >> Better I not say do it my boy. >> Yeah, you call an example. [clears throat] >> Better if she they doing I just say okay. >> But >> If something happen my boy, if you tell me my boy doing, I tell my boy don't worry. I keep it a secret. Because we are happy and that's all matter. I don't know the monster. >> Put the poison in Tim's drink and Tim drank it and died. >> It's not happening. >> Told you mommy I did it. I put that in Tim's drink and he died and daddy drank and died, you would say nothing. >> Honestly, what I need to say? >> Would you say would you say that yeah he did it or would you not tell anybody? >> No, because I defend my boys. >> You wouldn't tell anybody. >> I want my boys they go to jail. >> Okay. So, you wouldn't tell somebody that put the poison in Tim's drink. >> It is my fault. Okay, I'm sorry. Better nobody listen to me and they not listen my voice. And my voice in their your situation for 11 years. >> Okay. >> What I need to do? Put in my position what happen. >> So, do you feel like that's your last option? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> I think so because always waiting he's 11 now. 3 years or 4 years more. How long more abuse to waiting more? >> he have to go through again? >> I don't want it that. >> You don't want him to have any more abuse. Okay. So, when you that example, did you want him to do it? >> I would give example. >> An example? >> I know they say 100% boys doing. >> I I know you go do this, but when you get this example >> happen, boys, no problem. >> So, >> Family >> is and we are happy and nobody else abuse anymore my boys. >> So, when you gave that example though, were you were you were you It was an example only. Were you hoping that he would do that though? >> I don't know, honest. >> You don't know if you're hoping. >> I don't know. Because I know my boys they never do that. >> But, did you want him to do it? >> [sighs] >> I was talk to my my husband, you know what I was my plan, honest? To he living with us. He is staying with my boys until he pass away, but he killing in my kids. Because when they are staying with me, you know what I what we doing? Is killing my boys what I was until he pass away normal sick because he is sick. >> But, it just was taking a long time for him to pass away normal or >> Yeah, because he sick. >> Yeah. >> He is 60 years old. That's what he did say. Well, no, he lying all the time. >> just didn't want to wait. You didn't want to wait till he passed away normal? >> Um I was talk to with my husband Timothy John Grayden last week and Tuesday. I told Timothy John Grayden we can be family. Okay? Forget the past. You are older. You are sick. I don't want happen to you. I tell you has a clean and organized place here, comfort life and the boys too. And that place where you living is healthy. It's dirty. It's gross. Not healthy for you and not healthy for the kids. I say please stay with us. So, he move, I talk to the my manager and he legally move it. And he leaving, he got his place, I stay with my boys, I'm happy. When he pass away because he sick, I honest, I never do in the past and I never do it. >> So, you were hoping that >> I living sacrifice my life for the monster, but he never more abuse on my boy because my boy living with me and he stay with me. I supervise. >> I see. >> That's what I want. Yeah, that's what I said. >> That's what you wanted. >> That's what I did say >> Yeah. >> to Timothy and that's what I decided the boys before to >> And then what did Timothy say to them? >> for two three Nothing. Get out of it. No. Two weeks before when I was talking to him we'd be roommates he did not accept it. He said, "No, we are mountain. We love mountains." The boys I know my boy they not to say nothing oh yeah, right. In my mind, no? >> Mhm. >> I said to this I know my boys yeah, I know my boys in online. They are the same chemical like you living clean here. >> that was another option that you had. >> to. >> That was another option you tried was to have >> for many years >> Tim the boys come live with you. >> Mhm. >> And then >> We are not talking about nothing to die. >> No. >> Two weeks before nothing. I [snorts] was talking to him and then he did say no. But after that I was talking to the boys about how people die, how people killing, everything that but I not say doing. I just say no doing. I say I give example. That's it. >> Right. >> But I say boy, you know what happens I don't know how can helping to you. I want protect you. I want to boys. But I just say boys, honest I talked to you daddy for living with us with family. >> Don't you think that's a weird example to give your 11-year-old son? >> Huh? >> Don't you think that's a weird example to tell your 11-year-old son how to put poison into his dad's drink? >> with my kids normal conversation. >> But I don't it didn't sound It didn't sound like normal conversation. >> I'm sorry. >> How did that come up? Like what you're just having like a conversation about just day-to-day stuff and then how did it turn into the poison? >> Turn into the poison. >> Like how did the conversation change >> That's what he doing to me. That's what he doing to me. But I cooking he I should protect my boys but I not going to do that. >> So how did the conversation change where you're just having normal conversation and then you're giving examples about the poison? >> I'm sorry I was to do I don't know. I just say yeah, I do. Try to lie when I doing something yeah, I do. >> What else were you talking about right then, though? >> Excuse me? >> What else were you talking about? It sounds I don't think you guys would just started talking about putting poison in into his drink. >> I said drinking or the food or whatever there. Food or drink, not a big deal. >> Yeah. >> Sorry. But this true I just say. Because I want this to change. >> So, but right before that conversation, what were you guys talking about? >> The who the the my boys. >> yeah. >> Um We are watching videos first. They are playing videos, I listen videos, I was cleaning, organized, they eating a little bit. And they start to talk. I don't ask him because I know he didn't never to say nothing. But they start I don't decide my no like where I living. I say, "What happened, boys? Why do you no like to live in there?" Because it's dirty, it's gross, the bathroom is gross, they no showering. Come come in to my house to shower. The bathroom all is dirty, yucky. When they shower, so black and everything there. I say, "How long, my boy?" I mean, sometimes we no shower. And so gross to shower. More and dirty. I say, "Okay, my boy." >> [snorts] >> I talk to him. Uh I do I was talk to you daddy for more than you know. I just say and bring to them my kids two weeks before. I say, "Timothy, they no knows nothing what I I want to plan, you know? They they living to us." I was talk to my family, I was tell everybody about okay, I give chance, I sacrifice my life to live with my husband until he die. That's it. I just say that. Okay, I just say Timothy, we living together, we we are together family, forget the past. But I say, "Okay, no matter. I sacrifice for my kids. No big deal. Never more kids. Only I raise [snorts] my boys, but I stay with my My husband bedroom. He has a bedroom. I have my bedroom. He sleeping maybe in our cooking everything today. Yeah, they are never more alone. And they feeling Mommy is we are. We are safe and Mommy defend. Yeah, I defend. After that, they go to he need to anyone anyone on his life. He living with me. He need to go to home, go ahead. Bye-bye. Go to the doctor. He say, "Boys, let's go." Okay, I go because I don't want he stay any minutes alone with my boys. But they are safe and they know that. But he not accepting to living with me. That's happened two three weeks when I was still maybe last month. But this Tuesday, last Tuesday this weekend last weekend I was there I start to talking. I see how they feeling and they not say they not feeling happy. So I or they look not happy. I say, "Okay, boys." And I I start to this you know I told you all you know that exists many many people all over there. You we start conversation about that. I say people hurt, people pretending fake The people say, "Oh, she's the this person nice. No, this person is good." But they treat me behind can nobody to see. And people they scared. Especially when they are children. And start example. I say, "Sometimes people die when they are sick or older. The people die when accidents because accidents happens. The They are accident the car, accident We don't know. But that happen in the news all over the world." And exist different time when somebody killing to you. But you know what happened when somebody killing that person is because that person has a reason why that person was uh killing this person. It says that's not right. >> [cough] >> Exist reason. They need to investigation and they say, "Why you killing this person? Why what happened?" When you date this uh I say, "Okay, because he was abuse me." I know can't be saying nothing. But, you was report. What should I do? You can report. But, when it's children's it's so difficult to manipulation for many years psychology, mental, verbal. It's so hard, difficult for many years. And what I want is my voice. I want propose to Timothy to John Brady to take my voice to Peru. He and my voice to live with my parents for they study private school for better future. He not accepting the opportunity. I said the voice study here in school privacy or public. He not accepting. I said, "What do you want for the best of your voice? Suppose you want you suppose you decide you love your work." But, he never care. And that's I'm very concerned. I report the police, CPS, to the to counseling everything that he taking. When he get he got it three times the full custody, three times. Um he take away from the daycare, he take away from the from the from the school, he take away from for the medical appointments and everything. It does his love, it does his caring. Suppose you want the best the the best for your children. Suppose that exist the law that you protecting to the children and the woman and the people. Suppose that this person not doing and pretending and fake to lie everybody all over the world because he lying friend, he lying family, he lying to the court, to judge, police, and all over the world. And that's the reason I told to him you lying. No, it's me, Timothy. J go to consulate. Never in in the court they request for he go to the consulate. It's only me. Okay, I go to consulate. I was fighting with her while six months in console because I was in therapy with the consulate the doggy the doggy. E I know any problem psychology the mental and the verbal and the nothing. I don't drink body, but I not abuse, but I don't like people abuse me. Somebody abuse me I defend myself. I think so everybody can do it the same. You know, can somebody abuse to you you not doing it or you report or you defend when you are in the situation. >> Doing something. Do you feel poisoning Tim with a way of defending himself? >> Yeah. >> Yeah? >> Yes. >> And would that be okay? >> 100% I agree. >> Okay. >> Yes. >> And that would be okay? >> No, it's okay. >> But there's a reason for it. >> it's a reason. It is very dramatic, so dangerous. >> So does that make an excuse? >> No, it's excuse, but all the law they need to see in the the investigation about Timothy about my kids. And my kids have stopped to talk everything because he's dying. He no can life. But he they say, "Okay, boys, now your dad is dying. Now you are freedom to talk." And they say everything everything everything will happen for 11 years. >> So you're thinking maybe if Tim is dead that the boys will talk. They'll >> Yes. >> And so >> 100% yes. >> And you want the boys to talk? >> I want I wish. I pray to say God, please tell >> everything. >> Everything there the 2009 until this year 2000. >> So if Tim is dead then the boys will be able to talk. >> They can talk. >> Is that what you're saying? >> Everything, yes. >> Okay. >> Yes, because there's no more threat. >> Do you want Tim dead? >> Honest honest, I don't want he never more see the boys. That's what I wish. >> I know I know that's what you wish. what I report. But do you want him dead? >> Mhm. I waiting for he pass away. I waiting for he pass away. >> How will you How will you feel when he passes away? >> Not happy. Because we feeling it's a person, huh? >> Mhm. >> Uh I honestly want I told to him see uh I was thinking see my boys can never see that. And the court legal they say, "Okay, Mr. Gray, you not see the boy. You have chances. You have many years. This is the evidence that but you not see nevermore the boys. And they living alone in the mountains." And uh and come out he sick and he need to therapy and everything for his children and that. And he has the the surgery. And they call me because legal I am. Not legal, but I am so ex. Like it they need to inform you that. I say, "Miss Val de Iglesias, you know that Mr. Grady, he's almost to die. He want to Almost he's pass away. Almost, no? Because he's chronic. They see the medical and everything that. But he no he no can continue life." And he need to talk to you guys. I say, "Boys, we need to go to that." Me, honest and public. All over the technology and everybody see me. What I just say is, "Mr. Grady, I come in to see you. This is the end. I forgive you everything what you doing to us. Do you know that in your conscious? For 11 year or for many year what you doing you our children and our ass. We forgiving, but this is the end. I'm sorry. Go in peace. Rest in peace. And may God bless you. I love you. And bye-bye. Boy, you say bye-bye to dad. It is easy. That's it. He leave. Until this is happening first. is happening. Sorry. They annoyed me. You know he was living in the mountain because he loved mountains. He He is older. He went out. He said okay, leave him alone. I could you know hear my voice. And then they just told me he's in the hospital because I got busy. I forgot to say bye-bye to you. >> [snorts] >> Vanessa Lovell was charged in Skagit County, Washington with solicitation to commit first-degree murder and a related solicitation count. A jury convicted her of both on April 9th, 2021. The second count was vacated at sentencing. In July 2021, she received 180 months, 15 years. The Washington Supreme Court later upheld the murder solicitation conviction. In January 2024, the court of appeals vacated that sentence and ordered resentencing. As of a December 2024 federal habeas filing, she remained in custody and no later public record of her release or a new final term was found.
