He does not believe that this should be happening. >> Well, he's he's there and we're here >> and he's right here. >> Sorry, folks. Apologize. Keep going. >> One more. >> Can you just give me a second? Like, just give me a second. >> Got to walk down. >> Give me a second. >> Upstairs. We get a second. We're going TO WALK. >> LISTEN, I'M NOT a >> Don't resist, ma'am. Relax. >> Unless you want to. Do you guys have anything else? Where is my other bag? >> We got your stuff. >> We have your bag. >> Can you please just let us >> No, they have to hold you because >> I'm not going I'm not going to run. Just let me just >> for your sake. >> These guys are crazy. >> I'm not aing criminal. >> A full airplane. [music] a first class seat and one passenger who will not stand up. Everybody else [music] is about to be removed instead. April 1st, 2025, Tampa International [music] Airport, Airside F, Gate 81. An American Airlines flight bound for Nashville. Just after 9:15 at night, [music] police get a call. A passenger will not get off the aircraft. According to the incident report cited by Law and Crime, airline staff told officers the woman had been drinking at an airport bar before boarding. She boarded then ran back up the jet bridge because she had left a bag behind. >> This is what's going to happen. Everybody's going to get off the airplane and then we're going to have to take you against your will. And we don't want to do that cuz you're going to upset all these other passengers. >> Here. Now, here's the thing is I'm not really worried about the other passengers. I I am worried about is my rights. >> And my rights are that you are to explain to me what it is that is going on. I have done nothing wrong. >> Okay. So, let me explain it to you. >> Nope. But you are going to listen to me. I'm going to explain it to you. >> And you can after I'm done. Okay. So, I'm very well aware of my rights. I'm very well educated. Clearly, I'm sitting here. >> I paid for this seat >> two weeks ago. >> Okay. >> I have done absolutely nothing wrong. Staff say they told her she would not be [music] reorting until they'd had a conversation. Police say she went back down the jet bridge anyway and [music] got back on the plane. Then she sat down in first class and stayed there. Before the officers ever board, [music] they get briefed at the gate. Staff describe a passenger who blew past an agent who they say got [music] in the face of the captain and the first officer. Nothing physical, no injuries, nobody [music] touched. A supervisor is called because policy says a supervisor has to be the one to board. And then somebody says the line that explains the entire night. They think she will only come off the plane if she sees [music] a police officer. So a police officer walks down the jet bridge to find out what happens in that seat lasts several [music] minutes and it never really moves. And I just observed her because obviously she's drunk and I I just watched her and say and then she ran up the jet bridge to go get her bag because she left her bag at gas barilla. Then I was going to have a conversation and know she'd been drinking blah blah blah. Well, I told her she wasn't going to board until we had a conversation. She ran down the jet bridge and kept going after I told her repeatedly to come back up here and continue. Now she refuses to get off the aircraft. >> So we're moving her off the aircraft, but she will not come off the aircraft. >> That is what you're walking into. >> I guess we Well, Tony's on his way. She's got her herself. >> All right. Well, we got a supervisor on the way. >> We can go down. We just won't go in the >> We just can't go in the plane. >> She came off. >> He asks her to come off the plane. She asks [music] him to explain why. He tells her what will happen. Everyone else gets off and then she gets taken off against her will. On the recording, she tells him she is not worried about the other passengers. [music] She is worried about her rights. She says she is well aware of them. [music] She says she is well educated. She says she paid for the seat two weeks ago and she has done absolutely nothing wrong. He tells her she has exhibited behavior that concerns [music] him. He says something is affecting her judgment. She denies it flatly. >> Um >> well you can explain to me the reason why. >> I'll explain out there. >> No, no. Uh >> miss. This is what's going to happen. Everybody's gonna get off the airplane and then we're gonna have to take you against your will and we [music] don't want to do that because you're gonna upset all these other passengers. >> Here, now here's the thing is I'm not really worried about the other passengers. What I I am worried about is my rights and my rights are that you are to explain to me what it is that is going on. I have done nothing wrong. So, let me explain it to you. >> Nope. But you are going to listen to me. I'm going to explain it to you and you can after I'm done. Okay. So, I'm very well aware of my rights. I'm very well educated. Clearly, I'm sitting here. >> I paid for this seat >> two weeks ago. >> Okay. >> I have done absolutely nothing wrong. There is something wrong with people that work for this airline that are outside >> and then he gives her the number. [music] 5 seconds. After that, handcuffs for disorderly conduct. She stands up and then she stalls. [music] She wants her bag. She wants an explanation. She wants a second. Officers stop waiting. On the recording, she tells them not to hurt her and says she will walk on her own. They tell her that if she walks, she won't get hurt. >> Really? >> Ma'am, continue up. >> Just give me a second, would you? We've had plenty of time. Go ahead and go up. >> Please go up. Just give me a sign in line. Come on. Let's go. [music] >> Let's go. Come on. Come on. We'll talk. >> Sorry, folks. Apologize. >> One more. >> Can you just give me a second? Like, can you just give me a second? Got to walk in. Got to get off. >> She is handcuffed on the jet bridge in front of a plane full of people she has just delayed. The walk through the concourse is [music] the loudest part of the night. She tells them she is not a criminal. She tells them the handcuffs hurt. She asks them to look her in the eye. They tell her she was given every opportunity to get off the plane. >> Upstairs we get a second. WE'RE GOING TO LISTEN. I'M not Don't resist, ma'am. Relax. [laughter] >> Are you kidding me? >> Don't Don't hurt me. Just let me walk. >> Well, you had your chance to walk up. [gasps] >> This is what you guys are paid for. It's not okay. [snorts] >> The girl with the red hair, it's not okay. >> And then a supervisor steps in and does something the rest of the footage doesn't. He gives her his name. [music] He tells her exactly what is about to happen and why. He tells her to breathe. For about 30 [music] seconds, the temperature in that concourse actually drops. It is worth watching for that alone. >> Unless you want to put it down. Do you guys have anything else? Where's my other bag? >> We got your stuff. >> We have your bags. >> Can you please just let us >> No, they have to hold you because >> I'm not going I'm not going to run. Just let me help. >> These guys are crazy. >> I'm not aing criminal. >> Can you please let I I don't hop in. >> I can't hop in. I need to >> I'm holding you so you don't fall. Put your left foot on first. >> Good. Good. >> Does this make you guys get off? Like what the >> your head? >> Are you kidding me? >> Are you happy with where you're at? Like, is this what youinging signed up for? Are you kidding me? >> You're clearly >> Yeah, I am clearly upset. and your wife at home would do the same. Sir, I'm not stupid. I'm upset. I would have already been home already. Don't think of for a second second that I don't recognize that you and your partner here that's driving are human as well as I am. >> You can step out on your own. I will request. I will step out on my own happily with somebody that did not drive me here. >> He's right here. >> I want him to come here and I want him to ask me to come out of the vehicle. >> Come on, man. Let's come up so we can get it done. Come on. >> Can you come here? >> Come on. >> No, I just want one hand, please. Thank you. >> Okay. Just follow them in there. Okay. at the car. She says she will step out, but only for an officer who [music] did not drive her there. They find one, he asks. She steps out. She was booked and charged [music] with disorderly intoxication. One misdemeanor, no injuries, no battery, no weapon. She is presumed [music] innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. One flight to Nashville delayed. One seat she [music] had paid for two weeks earlier. One drink too many. According to everyone in the building except her, the plane left without her.
