All right, I'm going to check your eyes. Keep your feet together and your hands at your sides. Just like that. Keep your head still and follow this pen with your eyes and your eyes only, okay? Do not move your head. Okay? Can you point to the tip of the pen? Can you point to the tip of the pen? You can point. Good. With your finger. Okay, we'll begin. Okay. Okay? All right, so now we're going to do the walk and turn, okay? So, you see this line right here? >> Yeah. >> Watch it. You have to go backwards. Okay. Stand with your feet together, your arms by your side. All right. What you're going to do is you're going to place your right foot [music] directly in front of your left foot with your heel Before let me explain something. >> Multiple cars hit a truck [music] that didn't stop and a driver who an hour later would blow more than three times the legal limit. >> [music] >> This was 5:00 on a Sunday evening, Palm Coast, Florida, Sunday, the 15th of [music] March, 2026. Just after 5:00 in the evening, the Flagler County Emergency Communication [music] Center starts taking calls. Not one call, multiple. A vehicle has struck several cars and it has [music] left the scene. This is the part people underestimate about a hit-and-run in a residential area in daylight. You are not disappearing. You are collecting witnesses. And that is exactly what happened. Several of them stayed on the line and told deputies what they had seen and where it went. >> The tow's coming to work with >> Okay. >> And I'm going to go down there and see what they got. >> Okay. So, uh they said they think they can push it off. Is that good if we just push it off? >> I'm fine. I'm fine with it. Yeah, I don't I think we need here. >> Do you guys want to take any pictures? >> I don't think so. Um >> Wait, it says we didn't we didn't see the crash itself. >> Okay. Who saw the person driving the truck? Male or female? >> I don't know. Driving the truck was a woman. >> Woman. Okay. Driving the truck was a woman. >> Oh, I saw a guy just come in. He looked like >> Okay. So, the woman was driving. >> Deputies [music] found the vehicle stopped near Ula Turn Trail and Seminole Woods Boulevard. [music] A black Toyota Tacoma. Heavy front end damage. It wasn't hidden. It wasn't abandoned in a lot somewhere. [music] It was sitting on a residential corner a short drive from where the crash has happened. The driver was still with it. Deputies identified her as Marina Brandon, 25, of Palm Coast, according to the Sheriff's Office. >> [music] >> Deputies reported she was unable to speak clearly and smelled strongly of alcohol. >> Everything's >> Why are you driving? >> Are you going to Okay, stop for a second. Are you going to put her bra on, yes or no? You need to take it off. Well, I need him to help put her thing on. It's completely upside down. She needs to remove it. Turn it up. It needs You She needs to take it off and flip it upside down. >> When she got out of the truck, they reported she swayed and stumbled several times and could not keep her balance. We are not going to dwell on how she looked. That is not what this is about. And there is nothing useful in it. >> [music] >> What matters is what she was doing 10 minutes earlier. She was driving a pickup truck through a residential neighborhood on a Sunday evening. Deputies worked the crash investigation first, [music] the vehicles, the damage, the witnesses. >> Hey. Hey. >> I don't know if anybody made contact with >> I said. I said, no. I said, no. Can I use your cell phone? >> All right. You have a seat. Where's your shirt? >> In the car, buddy. >> All right. It's going to take a second to >> It's okay. He said he was only almost trying to call you. >> Yeah. Jesus. Do you need medical attention? >> No. >> You want to change? Refused to me, but >> Okay. >> But I just want to make sure everything's okay. >> Hey. >> Do you want medical attention? >> No. >> Okay. >> Do you need medical attention? >> No. Okay. Can you tell him >> Thank you. >> Can you tell him how much >> Get back. Put your foot in. >> He said I put his foot in. >> Put your foot in. >> Can you tell him how much his foot hurts? >> Okay. Do you want to do that? We will do that in a minute. You have a seat there. I'm going to ask you some I'm going to read you your rights, okay? >> Yeah. >> These are your Miranda rights. >> Real quick though, we are we are done. >> That's fine. >> We're done with the crash portion of everything we have to do. >> I'm sorry. You know. >> That's fine. We'll go up on that cement portion. >> It's all right. >> So. Then, with that complete, [music] they opened a DUI investigation. That order matters. The crash is one case, the impairment [music] is another. Two separate investigations stacked on the same afternoon. She was offered treatment at a local hospital [music] and refused it. >> Okay. I'm going to check your eyes, okay? >> Yeah. >> Keep your feet together, sir. Stand with your feet together. Can you put your feet together? Like this? All right, I'm going to check your eyes. Keep your feet together and your hands at your sides, just like that. Keep your head still and follow this pen with your eyes and your eyes only, okay? Do not move your head. Okay? Can you point to the tip of the pen? Can you point to the tip of the pen? You can Good. With your finger. Okay. We'll begin. Okay. Good? All right, so now we're going to do the walk and turn, okay? So, you see this line right here? >> Yeah. >> Watch it. Yeah, go to the back. Okay. Stand with your feet together, your arms by your side. All right. What you're going to do is you're going to place your right foot directly in front of your left foot with your heel. Before let me explain something. All right. So keep your feet together while I complete the instructions. Don't move until I tell you to do so, okay? So put your feet back together. Put them like this. Okay, we're calling it. Yep. So you want your phone with you, right? >> Yeah. >> And it's in that It's in that bag in the front? >> Yes. >> Okay. What else do you Your phone and what else do you need? >> Then she was [music] transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility. And at the jail, a breath test returned [music] a blood alcohol content of .250. Florida's legal limit is .08. [music] That is more than three times over. .25 is not a number to laugh at. At that level, people [music] lose coordination, lose judgement, and can lose consciousness. It is a level where refusing a hospital is itself a concerning decision. And she had driven a truck through a neighborhood at it. She was arrested on three charges: DUI with property damage, leaving the scene of a crash involving damage to property, and operating a motor vehicle without a license. Read that last one again. She did not lose her license in this incident. According to the charge, she was not licensed to be driving at all. So before the alcohol, before the crashes, before the witnesses, there was already no legal reason for her to be behind that wheel. She was released on a $5,500 bond. Nobody died here. As far as the Sheriff's [music] Office reported, nobody was seriously hurt. That is the only reason this is a 6-minute [music] video and not a very different one. Several people in Palm Coast walked out on a Monday morning [music] to a damaged car and a claim to file because of a Sunday evening that had nothing to do with them. A pickup truck, a residential street, [music] 5:00 and a number three times over the line. Marina Brandon has been charged. She has [music] not been convicted and she is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
