On July 27th, 2024, officers from the Oaklair Police Department were called to Ly's Bar on Water Street after a woman reportedly used a fake ID and threatened staff. When police arrived, they found two upset women, one of them pregnant, arguing and using aggressive language. Moments later, tensions between the group and officers began to rise rapidly. >> You want your ID back? >> Yes. Officers confirmed one of the women was pregnant at the time of the arrest. According to Oaklair police, the incident is still under review and the department says it remains committed to transparency. The woman involved claims she suffered injuries during the arrest and continues to call for accountability.
