I responded to shoplifting calls I knew
at any moment that a Chase could be on
and in my opinion and that's why
remembering my training while utilizing
Street smarts was Paramount we start off
today guys with the Conway Police
Department responding and meeting with
an APS short for asset protection
specialist and he explains that a female
allegedly concealed items then left the
Home Depot and goes inside of the
Staples but once police begin searching
the store it did appear that the woman
got away until the officer locates her
outside in the rear of the location and
she was doing her best to look as if she
was just taking a leisurely stroll
around the neighborhood and this is why
the IQ of these criminals might be
extremely low because even though she
might have gotten rid of the items that
she allegedly stole police more than
likely have surveillance footage and the
aps is an eyewitness but this is yet
another reason why police have to stay
alert because as the officers are going
inside the Home Depot to finish their
initial investigation they found out
that there's another shoplifter inside
helping themselves to items and I do
want you guys to notice how quickly this
call went from a mild managed shoplifter
to a foot pursuit of a second shoplifter
and then while the Mel is making his
Escape in his vehicle he nearly hits an
officer and now we have police in
Pursuit the weather being bad and
because of the time of day there's quite
a bit of traffic on the road now I've
been in this situation and as they're
getting closer to this mail they're
running through a wooded area and they
hear over dispatch that he possibly has
a gun so they have to approach with
Extreme Caution and not to mention the
officer's reaction time could be slowed
down tremendously due to navigating the
woods and the water while attempting to
apprehend this guy but these are my kind
of officers because not only did they
apprehend the male they were No Nonsense
while taking him into custody and they
stayed with him during this entire
Pursuit and they literally got their
hands dirty now lastly in case you're
uninformed shoplifting is defined as
concealing items on your person altering
price tags and trying to leave the store
without paying now Arkansas does
categorize theft offenses based on the
value of the stolen property the
shoplifting is considered theft under
state law and the penalties depend on
the value of the items taken additional
factors such as prior offenses or
whether the ACT andbob organized
shoplifting may also influence the
charges now I'm positive that none of
our supporters watching would ever shop
