2022 a woman identified as Dixie was
stopped by Officer Sergeant Brown of the
yes for Alle edly driving without a seat
belt the situation quickly escalated
into a tense confrontation when Dixie
vehement denied the allegations and
refused to comply with the officer's
request for identification and vehicle
registration hi hello I'm Sergeant Brown
us PD reason I stopped because you're
not wearing your seat belt you have your
license registration on you ma'am I'm
sorry is that um I'm sorry I just took
my seat belt off you have on yes I did
mm-m yes I did M yes I did you're going
to have to I just took it off I wear my
seat belt actually I I yell at everybody
for not wearing their seat belt I know
you guys from Michigan I saw the tag
yeah so I'm I'm not passport I'll give
you my passport but I'm not I'm not
doing this traffic thing I'm in homeland
security School bro I'm not going to
mess up your career so do you have your
password on you or some sort of ID I
colle it at the [ __ ] hell if it's not
even on me okay no worries do you have

actually have a DL what do you mean I
don't need a driver's license in America
actually just to be honest with you I
don't I've already won this in court all

they just lie and lie and lie stand by
but I'm trying to figure out what crime
I committed for you to ask me that
that's not a crime that's a it's a
traffic violation ma'am it's actually
civil infraction which I can pull you

I definitely 100% under God's uh
graceful eye was wearing a seat belt my
game plan is very simple I just going to
verify that you have a license or
whatever that says you can drive in the
state of United States once that's clean
and valid I'm out of here that is my
plan upon being stopped Dixie
immediately in front of the officer
insisting that she had been wearing her
seat belt despite the officer's calm
demeanor and explanation that traffic
violations are considered infractions
Dixie refused to provide her driver's
license or any personal information this
marked the beginning of a prolonged
argument during which Dixie asserted
that she was under no legal obligation
to comply with the officer's requests
here's my passport oh perfect I was
looking for my my passport ID but I only
have my passport all right thank you

is my husband's truck okay the tag on
there is that a I or an L okay do you
have the registration or anything that

information she presented a passport and
claimed that it was sufficient
identification furthermore the police
found her that the vehicle she was
driving was not registered compounding
the legal issues at hand despite
Sergeant Brown's attempt to handle the
situation diplomatically Dixie's
continued non-compliance forced the
officers to proceed with the legal

you're passing through

officers discovered that Cody Williams
had a suspended driver's license and
Dixie doesn't have driver's license this
added another layer to the situation as
he claimed to have no obligation to hold
a valid license the officers reiterated
that under state law both vehicle
registration and a valid driver's
license were required for operating a
motor vehicle why are you arresting me
good arrest me I hope you arrest me call

phone oh I see here oh I see I asked for

need the colonel Cody matter I am

I'm the OIC okay that's the ball I
know here and talk to me like that gave
you our passports from aboard I know
list that is a civil infra here's where
we're at Cody the truck's not registered
the tags expired okay where did you
lawyer he's an
attorney Cody can you get my lawyer on
the phone now sit around no no no no no
no I do not get arrested for driving I'm
traveling and you are I'm listening bro
I'm being I'm being I'm being cool with
you you are out of control sir you are
abusing your power that's what the [ __ ]
you were going all been through this
before no I'm not West Beach years ago I
hope you hurt me I have a baby my
stomach do not touch me what is the
honest okay why are you guys okay why
you okay I'm not resisting anything
thanks guys wife is taking things up a
notch unfortunately but and and this is
where this is where we're coming from
okay she does not have Dixie Williams
was informed that she was under arrest
the situation escalated as Williams
resisted alleging that she was being
targeted and treated unfairly she loudly
asserted her rights demanding legal
representation and accusing the officers
of the use she continued to insist that
the laws did not apply to her in this
context further comp complicating the
officer's efforts to resolve the
situation peacefully yeah she'll calm
down in in a minute she doesn't have a
driver's
license no she was she was driving
that's what I'm saying I saw her drive
okay you're traveling whatever you want
to call it but she does not have a valid
what do you mean driver's license the
issue is that you just don't know the
definition you're traveling in court no
matter how much you guys believe your
own beliefs the words the definition of
the words that you guys go through this
whole [ __ ] then we got to do lawsuits
and everything else and for what reason
okay when I just we made it clear to you
you know what I mean Cody let me ask I'm
going to be honest with you man okay let
me ask you a question totally fine with
that I respect that by all means but the
certain the certain language that was
being used it kind of had me like a
little concern exp everybody should
branch and you know legislative branch I
get well listen man like I said I don't
know the title on this truck is even
cancelled if this was an old beat up
truck that was sent around it should
have been registered that's the problem
it's not registered you guys are tra you
guys are traveling but you you guys you
guys got to have a driver's license and
it's already there Supreme Court's you
know ruled on it several times okay well
the only reason the lower court has to
keep going through this is you the words
okay hear me out and so we're battling
over what a belief system is you okay I
I okay like I I I respect what you're
saying and I'm love I love Thomson
versus Smith and recognize it then
you're dis respecting you know people
rights like this is my property I've
traveled all through the states I've
been pulled over before in by state
tubers it's not even up to date on the
registration the tag but you still have
but if you're traveling you have to have
the registration up to date you can't be
driving on expired
tags you don't contract with them why
would you do not a driver as Dixie was
being arrested her husband Cody soon
joined the confrontation he claimed that
they did not need a state issued
driver's license to operate a vehicle
arguing that they were traveling rather
than driving Cody insisted that they had
the right to travel without interference
further fueling the escalating
situation Williams faced multiple
charges as a result of the incident
including driving without a license
driving an unregistered vehicle and
obstructing law
enforcement according to Florida statute
322.031 driver's license violations of
this statute can result in fines
potential jail time and a misdemeanor
