accountability the suspect was charged
with five felony counts of aggravated
assault of a police officer during the
investigation after the suspect was
searched officers found a bag containing
approximately 100 gr of marijuana
divided between individual bags he was
also charged with unauthorized use of a
weapon
according to CWB Chicago the suspect was
given firsttime weapon offense probation
6 days prior to this incident for a
separate gun charge that occurred the
previous year after completion of
probation his gun charge would have been
expunged instead he is currently
awaiting trial in Cook County Jail for
seven total felony offenses in this foot
pursuit officers were on patrol in North
laundale Chicago a neighborhood with a
crime rate almost 200% higher than the
city average
according to court documents an officer
with the Chicago Police Department
observed a man with an object the size
and shape of a handgun in his coat
pocket when the officers attempted an
investigatory stop the suspect ran and
the chase was

hospital and survived the gunshot wound
he received to his torso according to
court records the suspect pled guilty to
aggravated assault of a piece officer
with a firearm and possession of a
firearm by a felon he was sentenced to
four years on each count to be served
concurrently and is expected to release
on parole in
2025 according to CWB Chicago the
suspect had an extensive criminal
background history stretching back to
when he was a juvenile including a
previous charge of felony fleeing and
which was dropped
