wonderful day appreciate it so did you take okay hello sir my name is Lieutenant betet anytime we have a use of force with an officer as I saw in the video where he pulled you down to the ground uh I have to interview you do you have any uh injuries that I need to document on my neck on my face okay I see a little one there you said there's something on your neck you mind turn it is that right here or on the other side other side a little bit okay we'll document that with some photos okay and just look back let me see the top of your eye there this little thing right here okay we're gonna take a picture of that you mind looking this way for me so let me get a peek on this side of your face let me borrow that for a second okay anything else anything that hurts shoulders anything like that no okay and there's any reason why you just didn't uh turn around or for the officer or no I did I I sat around um he telling me turn around and I just felt a little nervous that's what all it was okay all right okay thank you sir we'll document everything for you okay okay okay I'm off SP with West Police Department today's date is February 21st 2024 at 1620 hours this is reference case number 24- 2663 reference of petty theft um I'm here can you say your first and last name sir okay um can you uh raise your right hand for me please everything tell me is the truth nothing but the truth I do okay so what happened that day of the incident on on February 13th so I was sitting here at my desk Street and I got a call from related vice president uh who was yelling on the phone saying that there was a police officer wrestling someone in the middle of Rosemary and fern by himself okay uh so I said I'll be on the way and uh I yelled to some others that at the front door here that there was some a police officer rusting someone by himself at Rosemary Fern and then I ran down the street uh to Rosemary and fern where I observed uh a white mail police officer in the middle of the street on the ground wrestling uh a black male in plain clothes um and then as I was running into the intersection that's when I saw uh assistant chief run from his uh I think it was like a Chevy Tahoe SUV mhm uh to run up and start helping officer and then I was the third person to run up and then uh I grabbed uh the subject's legs to try to control the legs okay and then uh grabbed his left arm to help the officer control the left arm to try to get him into handcuffs okay and uh I believe it was possibly uh that was telling the guy lay flat and the guy kept saying I'm laying flat and said no you're not cuz the guy was laying on his right side okay and then uh either Tony or the officer was telling the subject put your hands behind your back and the subject was saying I am but he wasn't uh and So eventually uh the three of us were able to get the guy's arms behind his back and handcuffed and uh was the was the subject ever actively fighting like throwing strikes or was he just passively resisting uh not he was never offensively throwing any strikes he was just 100% resisting you know defensively okay okay um is that everything that occurred that that day from your from your point of view uh yeah and I think there was a a public box with some food items in it were out there and uh from from the guy and uh but that's all the pertinent things I can think of okay all right um is there anything else you want to add uh the I think we we gave video of the incident uh which should support everything I just said and uh and uh no I think that's about it where he one more time everything told me the truth about the truth yes okay this concludes this uh interview at 16 23 hours [Music] Sur don't have I sit
