I'm just >> No, you were trying to be right, and unfortunately, you weren't. >> I know. >> Florida Florida is a state where you can be fired for any reason at any time. When did that law change? >> It's been like that, buddy. >> Since when? >> It's been like that since I remember back in 2015. That was not the law. >> So, I've been in law enforcement since 2018 and it's been that way. They can fire you at any point. You refusing to leave is trespassing. >> I'm sorry. >> I wanted to know why. >> But it doesn't matter why. If they don't want you here, why do you why do you want to be at a place that you're not wanted? >> Because I liked this job. I >> So, there's plenty there's plenty of other places that you can work that's the same job, but now you're going to have a felony on your record. I already have one on my record. >> Oh, well, that's something to be proud of. Now you're going to have another one. And if you're a felon, then why do you have a gun? So, you're not convicted? >> Expuned. >> I I asked a follow-up question. Don't Don't get nasty with me. We were having a nice cordial conversation there. >> I'm sorry. I'm just >> So, your charge was expuned. So, did you get your rights back? >> Yes, I all of my legal rights back. >> Okay. You see how you see how easy it is when we can talk cordially? >> Yeah. I'm I'm just sorry. I let my anger get the better of me. I am sorry that I attacked you >> his pocket. No, no, no. I I So I grabbed a hold of him. He snatched away from me. So I stepped back, went to tase him. Um the we were too close in proximity. Um so then he charged me and he ended up like that. >> You all right, bro? >> Yeah, I'm good. >> Where's it? I've secured it. >> Okay, >> I've secured it. >> I am sorry. I let my anger get the better of me and I haven't done that in years. That's actually what led to the first felony. >> Well, I guess battery trespass. >> Yeah, he he straight up [ __ ] charged me. >> What kind of zero is it? >> I have handgun. Little pistol. >> It's a 9 mm diamond back short and it's a >> You're a convicted felon. >> I have had my rights. I had it. >> Oh, you're here. Yeah, I will. >> I had the the it expuned. I have all of my Where's the bathroom at? >> I had the the it expuned. I have all of my legal rights back. I had all of my legal rights back. I even worked >> Did you Miranda him? >> No. >> I worked for the Department of Corrections even after getting that felony. >> That's fine. Listen, you have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to talk to a lawyer and have him or her present with you prior to being questioned. You cannot afford to hire a lawyer. Won't be appointed to represent you before questioning if you wish. You can decide any time to exercise these rights to not answer any questions or make these statements. Do you understand these rights I explain to you? >> Yes. Please get me a lawyer. I do not have the funds to afford one. >> Okay. >> Ow. He was Yeah, it's um he I told him like, "Look, they want you to leave." He was like, "Well, I want to know why I'm being fired." Told him they don't have to provide you that. They tell you you're fired, you have to leave. He's like, "Well, I'm not leaving until they tell me." He's like, "Well, I'll clock out." And I was like, "All right, well, this is how it's going to go. You either leave with me or you leave on your own." So, he just kind of went like that. So, I said, "Okay." So, I stepped to him. I grabbed his hand. He tensed up. uh put this hand down to his side. I didn't know at the time, but he had a zero handgun in this pocket. Um so he sn he pulled back like this. I stepped back, took my taser, probed him. Um the first one didn't do anything to him cuz it was it was real close. So I stepped back again, hit him with the second one. Um he grabbed a hold of it and then just charged me. So I took him to the ground. Um I think I think what the head injury is from my taser cuz I I popped him and um we were we were fighting at that point. Um and then he started screaming that he had a gun and then that's when I noticed all the blood. >> Hey guys. >> Hey. >> You want to grab a camera too? want to get pictures before they uh bandage him. >> Yeah, snap some. I don't have any camera. >> Yeah, I can film on my body camera. >> Okay, I got I'm going grab some more latex. See if we got some more napkins in the car. You got to work from home. >> Hey buddy, you got to slow your breathing down. I know you your adrenaline's wearing off and the pain's setting in, but you got to slow it down. >> I know it's a lot going on. Um he was struck in the head with a impact we weapon uh specifically a taser. Um he was cased twice. Um didn't get the he got the 5 seconds out of total. Um he charged me. Uh we started wrestling. I struck him I think twice in the head with the taser. Um he went to the ground and he's got a laceration to the head. Um his adrenaline is definitely wearing off. So, the pain's starting to set in. He's got a pretty decent laceration. >> I see that. >> So, I don't know how you want to get him into the truck, but >> yeah, he's it's it's bleeding. >> Okay. >> You need more paper? >> Can we hold it? >> Here's some more paper if you need it. Are you able to if we help you stand up? Are you able to stand up then? >> He said he was feeling lightheaded. >> Are you still feeling lightheaded? >> Yeah. >> All right. Well, >> just go get the stretcher. >> Say to get the stretcher. >> All right. >> Slow your breathing down, buddy. >> Yeah. You got to slow your breathing down. >> Probably hyperventilating on top of it. So, you need to calm down a little bit. >> Y'all get here. They need people back on perimeter. >> I appreciate you, buddy. I'm here, guys. >> I I I know his name is Nick. >> Zack. >> Zack. I'm sorry. >> You're fine. >> I don't know where I heard Nick from. >> It's my fault. I know what the [ __ ] I did and I'm sorry. >> What happened? I let my anger get the better of me and I don't know why I just snapped. >> Chad, how'd you get here? >> My mother's van. >> Your mother's van. Where'd you park at? >> Front of Ruby Tuesday's white town country. It's missing the front end. >> Where's the keys did at? >> In my jacket pocket. Right side. >> There's also drops and I had another set of keys in there. >> Is anybody in the hospital? >> I was I was there until 10:00. I left to go to to that. >> No, no, nobody came in. >> I can I mean I can stay out for a little bit, but >> stop. I'm trying to see. >> Do you want some more paper towels? Some clean? >> Gregs, here >> are the keys. They're not bloody. >> It's not at this point. I'm just worried about you, okay? >> Again, I am sorry. >> It happens, man. Sometimes Sometimes the anger just just gets to us. But don't don't worry about that. I want I'm worried about your health right now. Okay. Don't don't hit your head anymore. >> Yeah. And try not to hyperventilate. Okay. >> Trying. I just can't. >> I know. Just in through your nose, out through your mouth. Slow breaths. All right, we got the stretcher back here. You think you can make it? >> What? What? What do you want to do, Heather? >> We can stand him up and >> Okay. >> Hang on. We're going to help. >> All right. We're going to help you. >> All right. Get your bearings. >> All right. You all right? Talk to us, buddy. >> One sec. >> Okay. If you feel like you're going to fall out, let me know so we can get you back on the ground. Okay. >> Yeah. >> You feel like you're going to fall out? >> Is there Is there a way we can get like the stretcher underneath you before you do? >> Yeah, we can wheel him. All right. Lean back for me. Um, how would you like him handcuffed? >> Just put him in front. >> Okay. All right. So, before listen, we're going to get on the stretcher before I do that. Okay. All right. We're going to help you stand back up. I'd like to get his jacket off, though. Well, I mean, we're just right across the street. >> He's got the barbs in it, so I mean it um >> The barbs didn't go through. >> I know. That's why you didn't get the full effect of the taser, cuz it these new ones would have dropped you like a sack of potatoes, buddy. >> They're not fun. >> I know. I was tased when I went through Department of Corrections. >> I gota >> um go ahead and just move to the front. >> All right, let's let's stand up, buddy. >> But I don't know. I'm going to that I'll be able to get blood pressure and stuff through that. Also, >> we got shears. >> I'm wearing a long sleeve under it anyway. >> So, so the only only problem is the the physical where he charged me. So, otherwise, I'd be totally for it. Um I know he's calm now, but typically if >> they show violent action, we don't we try not to completely unrestrain them. >> Yeah, I know. >> Um so, I'm I'm good with them in the front. Um, maybe if we weren't in such confined space like at the hospital, we'd probably get it if that it's a if that's okay. >> Zachary was transported to the county jail and charged with armed trespassing, battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest with violence, and carrying a concealed unlicensed firearm. He was sentenced to 3 years probation and a $1,200 fine.
