tried trust me never come out of
character just because somebody ended a
relationship and this is particularly
sad to watch because as a police officer
I can't count how many domestics in
relationship issue calls that I've been
called to one particular call comes to
mind that still haunts me to this day it
was the 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. shift I
was a rookie pretty much still in
training mode when I got a call for a me
complaint as I arrive in location a
young woman with tears pretty much in
her eyes directs me to the kitchen and
points outside the window as I looked
outside I saw an already deceased male
who ended his life using his own belt if
that isn't tragic enough the woman
explained that it was her ex-boyfriend
who she left the day before and he
explained to her that if you do not take
me back you'll regret it forever at this
point all I could do is console her as
professionally as I could and await the
corner but this was over 25 years ago
and the sight is still etching into my
brain and with this case the young lady
is really beside herself and for what
because police had to respond arrest her
and she still ended up with a mug shot
while whoever she was upset about would
likely just go on with their life now in
Florida resisting an officer without
violence is any non-violent obstruction
of a law enforcement officer during the
execution of legal Duty including an
arrest resisting without violence is a
first-degree misdemeanor with penalties
of up to one year in jail or 12 months
probation and a $1,000 fine now examples
of resisting without violence or
refusing to obey lawful verbal commands
avoiding being handcuffed and tensing
your arms while being handcuffed now
lastly always remember that it's not
worth it to react emotionally when
things don't go the way that we want
them J was charged with trespassing
disorderly conduct and resisting
obstructing without violence she is
innocent until proven guilty in a court
of law
