juveniles so their identities are being withheld in accordance with juvenile privacy laws according to the same statement the driver of the civilian vehicle and the suspect were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries however the passenger in the suspect's vehicle died from their injuries 2 Days Later due to juvenile privacy laws it is unknown What charges the driver will face and Maryland attorney general's independent investigations division has assumed the investigation ultimately several factors combined that resulted in this tragedy those included the extreme speed the point of impact on the passenger side and the lack of a seat belt being worn which also prevented airbag deployment hey everyone I'm John and I appreciate you for watching and when a call comes out of a police radio for robbery officers only have the that's provided by Dispatch so many times they don't know what they're rolling up on and I've been in many foot Pursuits chasing people for different things some for vehicle theft and some for robbery but it's a different experience when it involves a vehicle Pursuit because think about it if the suspect has already shown their lack of respect for the law and now they're in a vehicle trying to get away this puts the public the officers and the vehicle occupants in an extreme amount of danger and unfortunately on many occasions it ends tragically so in our case today out of Virginia we have police in a vehicle pursuit of suspects who allegedly committed a robbery and this suspect is traveling well over 100 mph and it's also nighttime and navigating nighttime Pursuits are a unique challenge for police and keep this in mind in most police departments there are stringent rules for even initiating a Pursuit and even with those rules in place that still doesn't take away the danger element but these officers are doing a great job they're keeping the suspect in sight and doing their best to remain at a safe distance and at this time we do notice that there's multiple police departments involved in this Pursuit and as if it wasn't dangerous enough the suspect literally goes dark and turns off his lights so now this is an extremely scary situation because we have other motorist out on the road and then we do notice that the officer tried to deploy the spikes but the suspect totally avoided them and then it happens the suspect's vehicle comes to an intersection just as an unsuspecting vehicle was turning and the suspect crashes into that motorist and as police Clos into the suspect he's conscious in talking and complaining about his leg however his passenger is not moving and the airbags did not deploy lastly even as a retired officer watching this was extremely difficult cuz many times civilians who are just going about their life are thrust into an unavoidable situation and although we've seen the footage we don't know the long-term health issues that that person may have to deal with but as far as a suspects go life is about choices and once you've decided on a certain Road sometimes there's no turning back
