He exited his patrol car and made contact with the driver who was identified as 22-year-old Cameron Bram. >> Um it was a a desire event um behind Bradley's Oh, okay. >> All right. Miss Brown, would you mind just stepping out and just talk to me real quick? >> Yeah, of course. >> Okay. >> You go ahead and close your door. That way, that way it doesn't get knocked off. >> These Camaro doors are expensive. >> We're just going to step right over here. >> Yeah, of course. >> As he was speaking with her, he observed indicators of impairment and detected the odor of alcohol. She told the officer that she had been working at an event in Abore earlier that evening based on his suspicion of impairment. Cameron was asked to exit the vehicle and perform field sobriety exercises. >> Okay. So, you said you were working at a event at uh Bradley's you said or behind Bradley's? >> Yes, it was um so like a it's not a club event, but they like throw like events like maybe once a month. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Have you had anything to drink tonight? >> I have not. >> No. Nothing at all. >> Nothing at all. >> Okay. Cuz in the state of Florida, it's not illegal to drink and drive. It's illegal to drink and drive at the point of impairment. >> Yes. >> Okay. So, the reason why I'm asking is just cuz >> I mean, if he wants to leave, he can leave. >> Yeah, sure. She >> Yeah, she's fine. We're just talking. So, all right. The reason why I had you step out is I can smell alcohol coming from your breath. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, I'd like you to do some field sobriety exercises. Would you be willing to do those? >> Yeah, 100%. >> Okay. All right. Give me just a second. I'm going to shut the front lights off on my car real quick just so they don't bother you. >> Sure. >> And uh if you want, you could take your hat off and uh hand it to my partner. She'll throw it in your car for you. >> Can you just toss that back in the car for me? >> If you could just wait right over here, Miss Brown. >> It's right over there on that side. the horse head. He'll take a nice >> actually. Could you do me a favor? Just wait over by that curb. 234 doing field. Thank you. >> All right, M. >> Wait until I'm done. >> Can you just wait till I'm >> sorry? >> I don't know where >> we can wait over here. >> Okay. >> I don't know why he's freaking out. >> I don't either. All right. Uh, do you wear glasses or contacts? No. >> Do you take any medications? >> Uh, no. No. Okay. Um, see a doctor for anything? Any issues? Like broken knees, broken ankles, nothing like that? >> Nothing of that. >> Okay. What I'm going to have you do is just turn and face me. If you could just stand right on my light. >> Turn and face me. >> Officer Baker started with the horizontal gaze nestagmas HGN test where he observed 66 indicators of impairment along with vertical gaze nestagmas. The second exercise was the walk and turn test. During the walk and turn test, Cameron failed to touch heel to toe on each step and turned improperly. The final exercise was the one leg stand test. During the one leg stand test, Cameron failed to raise her foot in the proper fashion and put her foot down before the test was complete. Okay. All I want you to do is pay attention to my red light with your eyes and your eyes only keep your head perfectly still. Okay. Victor 613. I just drove past the shell now. It looks like it might be more of a 198 possibly stop there for copy that. 61. I'm 97. I'm familiar with the subject. >> Hello. >> You worked here before? >> Good. I'm out of brewing signal 80 black trench coat black male and ventilation. >> Okay. I'd like you to do a couple more exercises if you're willing to do them, Miss Brown. >> Sure. >> U just before we have him do them cuz I'm going to have you be walking. Do you have any other shoes in your car that you can put on like >> um >> or no? just because I know the high heels are going to make it kind of difficult and I know it's a little bit wet so I didn't want to have you do it. >> Uh I don't have any other shoes but I don't think it it should be difficult for me to do it in these heels. >> Do you normally wear those? >> Uh yeah. >> Okay. All right. Well, give me just a second. I'm going to grab something. >> Okay. >> Actually, just wait right here. I'm going to see if it's dry up here. >> Okay. >> That's about as dry as we're going to get. Give me just a second. I'm going to get something to make a line real quick and then we'll go from there. Okay. >> Yeah, totally. >> Is this your car? >> Oh, yeah. That's my car. >> Okay. Nice. >> Would you rather do this barefoot? >> Um, I'm not >> I'm going to have you walk heel to toe. That's why I'm asking. >> And I know that. Yeah. Well, >> I don't feel not confident in my heels because I don't feel impaired, >> right? >> Okay. Well, I mean, >> like genuinely, I don't. >> [ __ ] stick. >> Yeah, sure. Yeah. Yeah. No, do your thing. >> Duct tape. You >> think duct tape would be better, >> huh? >> Duct tape. >> Nothing's going to stick to this. A little too wet. >> See if there's a line over here. Yeah, there's a line there. >> Oh, yeah. >> Right here. Blue line. >> Yes. >> Okay. What I want you to do is stand on that side. Take your left foot, put it directly on the line. Take your right foot, put it directly in front of it, touching heel to toe. Matter of fact, could you take your shoes off for me? >> Absolutely. >> All right. I appreciate it. I got it. >> You okay? >> Okay. Left foot on the line, right foot directly in front of it, touching heel to toe >> and arms down by your side. And just stay in that position till I tell you to begin. Okay. >> Absolutely. >> Whenever I tell you to begin, what I'm going to have you do is take a series of nine steps down this blue line. >> Okay. Uh, whenever you get to the end, I want you to turn exactly how I'm going to demonstrate and then take nine heel to toe steps back. >> By heel to toe, I want every step to touch heel to toe, >> looking down at your feet and counting every step out loud while keeping your arms down by your side. >> Okay? >> All right. So, just stay right there and I'll demonstrate it. So, you're in the start position right now. Left leg in the back, right leg in front. >> You're going to take nine heel totoe steps looking down. So, it'll look like this. 1 2 3 and so on and so forth till you get to nine. >> Once you get to nine, take that back foot off of the line. >> Okay? >> Pivoting on your front foot, take a series of small steps, face back down the line, and take nine heel to toe steps back. One, >> two, three, and so on and so forth until you get to nine. >> Yes. >> Do you have any questions? >> Nope. >> Okay. And I do not want you to stop once you start. >> Okay. >> Okay. You may begin whenever you are ready. >> Okay. One, two, shut. 3 4 5 6 >> 1 2 3 >> 4 5 6 7 8 9 >> Okay, >> just one last one last exercise. Okay, we'll come back over here for that one. Okay, >> we'll just wait right here. Just right here on my light. >> Yeah, of course. >> Okay. What I want you to do is stand there with your feet together, arms down by your side. >> Whenever I tell you to begin, what I'm going to have you do is lift one foot of your choosing, either your left or your right, whichever one you are more comfortable. >> Sure. >> Approximately 6 in off the ground. It's about the height of a soda can or a dollar bill, whichever way you want to look at it. >> Keep your arms down by your side. I want you to look down at your foot. And I want you to count out loud. 1,00 1,002 1,003. Notice how both of my legs are straight. >> Okay. >> Okay. My legs not bent. My toes not pointed up. My toes not pointed down. My toes just hanging out >> parallel to the ground. And I want you to go until I tell you to stop. >> Okay. >> Okay. It'll be approximately 30 seconds. >> Okay. >> Okay. Do you have any questions about that? >> I do not. >> Okay. Give me just a second. You may begin whenever you are ready. 100,00 1,002 1003 1004 1005 1006 >> Make sure you're looking down at your foot. 1007 1008 1009 1,012 13 1 3 >> Okay, do me a favor. You can go ahead and put your foot down. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Stand there with your feet together, arms down by your side for me. Based on her erratic driving, her indicators of impairment, the odor of alcohol, and her inability to adequately perform the field sobriety exercises, Cameron was placed under arrest for driving under the influence. Her ex-boyfriend passenger fled from the traffic stop even before she was arrested. >> All right, what I want you to do is just place your hands behind your back. Okay, I'm going to pull your jacket up just a little bit. Okay. >> Am I being arrested? >> Give me just a second. I'll explain everything to you. Okay. >> Do me a favor. Turn your wrist. There you go. You have really small wrist, so I'm going to try not to get it too tight on you. Okay. >> Right now, you are being placed under arrest for DUI. >> Okay. Whenever we get down to central breath testing, I am going to request that you provide two breath samples. >> Okay. >> Would you be willing to provide those two breath samples? >> Uh, can I have a phone call before? >> No. >> Unfortunately, no. I'll explain everything to you and the consequences of either way. >> Okay. >> All right. We're just going to come right here so my partner can search you. >> Of course. >> All right. Is there anything in your vehicle you would like to go with you? >> No. >> Okay. >> I mean, my phone maybe. >> Yeah, I'll take a turn and just face the hood of my car and my partner will search for you. >> Do you have anything on you that's going to stick or poke me? I do not. Oh my god, [ __ ] So, I have both holes. >> Uh, once we get down to the central testing, we'll do that. >> Oh my god. >> Whether you whether you provide a sample or not, and then once you get booked into booking, you'll go through the whole booking process. And then they will pro they will let you get to your phone to get phone numbers out in order to make your phone call. >> Okay. Thank you. >> No problem. [ __ ] really close. >> Yeah, you're good. I don't think there's anything in there. Actually, like a vape. So, can I have my vape one last time? >> Unfortunately, not. Ah, >> once the cuffs >> once the cuffs go on, it starts an observation. I cannot let you take anything into your mouth. Okay. >> I know. I know. All right, we're going to go have a seat in the car. Okay. >> Oh, yeah. Let's go. Let's just [ __ ] do it. >> Oh, here we go. >> First time. >> All right. You just said [laughter] your cell phone. >> I'm sorry. Yeah. >> Do you have a wallet you would like to go with you? Is it like a little small little clutch? It's the only thing they'll take if I get out this way. for whatever reason. Um Oh, it might be a Yeah, it's like a backpack. It'll be in there. >> Okay. Thank you. >> I'll be right back with you. All right, Miss Brown. >> Will they take this? >> Yeah. I'm just going to go through it real quick. >> I got it. >> And that's her cell phone right there, ma'am. >> No, the cow hat will stay. Uh, let me grab my bag. Sorry. This is so crazy. >> Yeah, that's fine. >> If it wasn't notified, it was six of six and vertical on her HGN. I apologize if Dai did not vocalize that before. Now, >> I Hey, uh the glove box. >> That was located in the glove box. All right. >> Her name's not Cameron, is it? >> Yes. Oh, it is >> Cameron Brown. >> Yeah. Do you want these to stay in there or >> No, I can go with this. Toss everything in there. >> It's the tiniest center console I've ever seen. >> Yeah, they're Camaros. >> I already turned it off. >> And there's nothing. >> It's all good. All it can stay. >> All right. Do you mind handling the impound for me, ma'am? >> I'll do it. >> All right. I appreciate it. Thank you, sir. >> All right. Thank you for your assistance, ma'am. >> You're welcome. >> I know, right? Whenever I did this, so she comes off of fourth, like fourth and 15th, rolled like blows a stop sign, no lights on, guns it whenever she comes up here to the point like she starts fish tailing a little bit. I was like, "All right, that's enough." >> Yeah. Yes, ma'am. >> Oh, what? >> I'm sorry. This is so like cuz my ex like he just he had a um a domestic violence and I was like, "Yo, like I don't want to even deal with you right now." And I was like, "I'll drop you off wherever." It's just like it's not funny. It's not funny. He really car the toward. >> Yes, ma'am. I'll let you know where it gets towed to. >> Oh, you want to like I'll spend the night in jail or like what? >> Yes, ma'am. >> [ __ ] Really? Like all night? >> The the next 8 hours? Oh [ __ ] >> Oh my god. I'm so sad. >> Yo, he really didn't pick one. >> 685. >> I'll be 10:35. 51 adult female to CBT. Copy beginning. >> So if I get checked in, can I get out 4 8 hours? >> 127434. Repeating 127 434. >> I'm sorry. >> How does it work? Can I get bailed out like quick? >> It'll be 8 hours. It's a 8 hour hold. They call it the sobering up period. >> So, uh, like I told you, I would explain everything to you. Um, >> yeah. I just know my ex was laughing through. >> So, whenever we get down there, I'm going to ask you to provide two breath samples. You can say yes, you can say no. If you say no, the your license will be suspended for 12 months for the first refusal, 18 months if you've had a prior refusal, as well as getting charged with an additional misdemeanor if you have already refused once. So, if you have no refusals, your license is suspended for 12 months. If you have a refusal, your license been for 18 months. >> Be a work license. >> Uh you could. Yes, you could. Being as though you don't look I haven't really looked into it yet, but you do look like you would qualify for business purposes only. And that refusal can be used against you in court. I'm just these are just things I legally have to tell you. >> I know. I know. I get it. This is just like this is so good. I told him like oh my god. You know what? [ __ ] it. I deserve this. [ __ ] Are you going to phone call in there before anything? >> No, ma'am. >> After the refusal? >> Yes, ma'am. If you if you refuse, yes, it will. And it won't be right after. It's going to be probably four or five hours from now. >> I don't even it for [ __ ] with my ex. No way for [ __ ] with my ass. >> Yep. >> Was that your ex who was in the car with you? >> Yes, bro. And like >> well he's walking >> told him to get out multiple times. He was like bro I got him for domestic violence and he was like just take us home. Just take us home. And I was like I'll take I'll drop you off at your friends but you're not coming home with me. Like obviously I'm not in the condition to drive but I mean I was like we're not going home. I know he's I know he's I know he's in the group chat right now just happy as a [ __ ] So, I'm just like my belongings. >> Yes, ma'am. I have your um I have your phone and I have your cards that were in your car. >> No problem. The purse was a little bit too big. They wouldn't take it here. So, it so we left it in the car. Okay. Reason for that is because if we take it here, they refuse it, then I have to take it to my impound lot, which is all the way off at Down Avery. >> If they refuse to take it here, then I have to take it all the way to our impound lot, which is over off of Lois and Down Avery. >> Yeah, I've been there. >> And place it there. So, we figured leave it with a car. That way, I'll let you know where your car is. Whenever you get out, you can Uber straight to your car and get your car back and I'll let you know which tow company takes your vehicle. You'll probably have to get like bailed out or you get out like how what's the gist like >> you you'll have to get bailed out. It'll be um so if you get a bail bondsman it's a $1,000 bond. Um it'll be a hundred bucks for you to get out the bail bondsman will put up the other 900 and >> Oh my gosh. Should I call my ax? Like what do you think? >> Uh I wouldn't I mean the way he got out of the car and couldn't get away fast probably would. He didn't even give a [ __ ] right. I should call him. Oh, there's a reason why he's your ex, right? >> Yeah, he really Oh my god. >> So, but just use this as a learning experience. All right, Miss Brown. >> I know. Yeah. Like, bro, he did his big win. Whatever, bro. He still had this before. Oh my god, this is so we got mug shot. >> Yes, ma'am. >> At least my makeup stuck out. >> Okay, >> it's a question I have to ask and ask everyone. Uh, whatever we get to here, we're going to walk inside. >> Um, do you have anything on your person that could be considered illegal or contraband? >> Yeah. >> Okay. All right. I always ask um everyone because if it does make it into the jail, >> it's a charge for whatever it is plus an additional >> talking about like drugs and stuff. >> Yeah. >> Oh, yeah. No, nothing. Nothing. 68597. Copy ending. Here you go. >> It's going to be 127439. >> I'm I'm just trying to make it light. >> Oh, I understand. >> I'll be right back with you. All right, Miss Brown. >> Yeah, I'm chilling. All right. All right, the CVT deactivating. Am I going to get like a orange jumpsuit? >> Yes. >> What the [ __ ] >> Did you want to put your shoes back on to walk in? >> I mean, the heels. No. >> Okay. Just wait right here by the back of my car. I'll grab your shoes for you. >> I'll wait here. All >> right, we're just going to walk right over there to that green door. >> Okay. >> You don't think you'll bail me out? No. You don't give a [ __ ] about me, right? >> Nope. [laughter] >> I'm just being honest. >> I know. [ __ ] After being placed inside the police car, Cameron was transported by Officer Baker to the Hillsboro County Sheriff's Office for further processing. At the jail, she refused to submit to a breath test. She was charged with a DUI316.1931 and later released on a $500 bond pending her court appearance. >> All right, if you could just wait right there on the black mat. >> Yeah. And like I said, would you be willing to provide that breath sample or no? >> No. >> Okay. >> 10 four. Deactivating body warn camera per HTSO policy.
