The the registration like is ridiculous right now because >> What do you mean? >> It's a refrigerator. >> What's a refrigerator? >> The like >> 31. >> What's up? >> Delta 230. >> Um, >> do do you have your registration and your proof of insurance? Yeah. >> What do you mean it's a refrigerator? >> Crazy. >> So, I usually put my re like the registration in this cuz it's like a It's a refrigerator. >> Well, intention. >> So, why do you put your registration in there? >> Well, normally I don't. >> Do Do you have your registration proof of insurance? >> Yeah. >> So, >> yeah. 400. What's their exact location? >> Paige, where are you coming from today? I am coming from home. >> Okay. And where's home? >> Like in 2 minutes away. >> You're coming from >> You're coming from home. >> Yeah. >> But so you're heading home, but Yes. >> Okay. >> All right. So, the reason I'm stopping you is because we got a few phone calls about this vehicle. Really? >> Yeah. It was being driven uh in a careless manner under the speed limit all over the road. >> It's not really funny, you know. It's actually pretty dangerous. >> I don't under like I am so cautious about >> Okay. So, you're Where were you coming from >> right now? I just went to go get some steaks to cook for dinner. >> You went to get steaks? So, you're not coming from home. You're coming from where? I want to go get steak to get for dinner and I'm fine. >> Yeah. >> All right. Did you have anything to drink today? >> No. >> Okay. Are you sure? >> I don't drink. >> You don't drink? >> No. >> Okay. Is there a reason that I'm I'm smelling something like alcohol from this vehicle? >> Really? >> Yes. >> What do you What do you smell? >> What appears to be an alcoholic beverage. Yeah. >> Oh, no. That definitely. >> And I asked for your registration. You say that you you keep your registration in the refrigerator. I say that because I don't normally get pulled over and I don't know, but like >> so where Okay. >> Hi. >> Oh my god, there's another guy. >> Hi. >> You guys can do whatever you want to do. Like I don't It's so bizarre. >> Okay. So, are are you able to locate those those documents for me or No. >> What? >> The license the registration, the proof of insurance. Yeah. >> Is the Is the car in park, man? >> What? >> The car is in park? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Would you mind turning the car off for me? >> All right. Thank you. Can you turn it off? >> All right. Thank you. >> As he was speaking with Paige, he detected the odor of alcohol and observed other indicators of impairment. Paige had trouble locating all her documents and told the officer that she had gone shopping to buy stakes for dinner. Based on her indicators of impairment, she was asked to exit the vehicle and perform field sobriety exercises after Officer Civitz, Officer Bagan, and Sergeant Gil arrived on scene to assist. Uh, are you able to step out of the vehicle for me, please? >> Oh my god, this is insane. >> Step over here, man. >> So, Paige, I'm going to ask you again. Did you have anything to drink today? >> No. >> Did you Are you on any kind of medication? >> No. >> Okay. Okay. Any any narcotics, any drugs, anything like that? >> Narcotics? No. >> I'm like I am a 42year-old woman that has children. Like I know. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, the reason that I had you step out of the vehicle, I'm a little concerned with a few things. >> Uh like I said, we got two separate phone calls for this vehicle being driven in a concerning manner. Okay. Uh, I asked you for your registration and you said that it's in the refrigerator. >> I do I've not been like like pulled over in so long that I don't like it's not like a you know like I don't know. >> Okay, Paige, are you willing to do some field sobriety test for us just to make sure that you're good to drive? >> I don't want to do sobriety test. >> Paige, before we do that, you just read to her, right? >> Sure. So >> just just listen in real quick. >> So Paige, you have the right to remain silent. >> What he's saying? >> Are you listening? You have the right to remain silent. Do you understand that? >> Yes. >> Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. Do you understand that? >> Yes. >> You have the right to an attorney. Do you understand that? >> If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed to you at no expense of your own. Okay. Do you understand that? >> Okay. >> So the reason why I had him read your rights, >> is that your stuff in the back of the car? Like your purse? You have a purse in the back? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Do you have anything else back there that like >> we should be aware of? No. No. Hear me out. Is there anything back there that we should know about? >> I have a Westfell mom. You guys are so There's pills right there in plain view. >> Not back here in the back seat. There's pills. Are those your pills >> in the car? >> What pill? >> Uh, that's why I'm asking you. No. Talk to me. Hey, talk to me. Wait, don't tell me. >> Are there pills? Are you aware of any pills or anything in the back seat? Uh, I have a >> What did you put them in? You remember the container? The package? >> Normal? It's a normal container. >> It's like in a pill bottle. >> Yeah. >> Okay. You didn't put them in anything else? A bag or anything like that? >> Okay. All right. So, the pills in the bag, clear a plastic bag back there. You're saying they're not yours? Which one? There's pills in a bag in your back seat. That's why I'm asking you about these. I don't know what they are. I'm going to go take a look. But before I go take a look, I just want you to be honest with me about >> Can I see them? I I I I >> Okay. So, >> one thing at a time, like this officer explained to you, we want to make sure you're okay to drive. So, we should be able to do some field sobriety tests just to make sure you get the drive. >> Okay. >> All right. So, let us get set up and then we'll put you through the field so test to make sure you get the drive. Okay. Okay, >> you're going to stay with him. Do you have a shirt in the car? I want to put a shirt on if you have one. >> Sure. >> Where's your shirt? I'll grab it for you. I'll grab it. >> Yeah. Where's your shirt? I'm going to grab your shirt for you. Just stand over there with him. >> Paige, can you can you just stand back here where you were? >> Okay. >> Can I grab your shirt? >> Sure. >> Debbie can drive. I'm I'm fine. All right. Do you give all your service permission shirt? >> Sure. >> All right. You can grab it if it is on. >> Do you usually go shopping for steaks without a shirt on? I mean, you said you were going >> Yeah. I mean, >> it's a little unusual that you know, you're standing here in a bra. You said that you were just picking up steaks. >> All right. We'll do interior. >> Okay. >> All right. >> You want to Yeah. You want to My camera's on. You can do it right on that right over here if you want. >> All right. >> All right. Paige, follow this officer. He's going to >> then if you don't mind doing an HGM like after he explains everything. All right. So, these two officers are going to put you through standard field sobriety test because we believe you're driving a pair. That's pretty much what it comes down to. Okay. Hey, test on you. Do you wear glasses or anything like that? >> I'm driving my car. She wants to wear these. Give her option to wear these for the touch. Don't move your head. >> Your head. Try not to move your head. >> Keep your hands out. >> So dumb. >> Can you keep your hands out of your pockets, Paige? >> Fine. Officer Bean started with the horizontal gaze nestagmas HGN test. The second exercise was the walk and turn test. During the walk and turn test, Paige failed to touch heel to toe on each step and did not count in the correct sequence. The final exercise was the one leg stand test. During the one leg stand test, Paige failed to raise her foot in the proper fashion and displayed a lack of balance. >> Go. >> They're in your pocket. Just take them out. Take your hands out of pocket. Keep them at your side. Just like that. Tip my finger. >> I'm not being very nice. Just the ball's tipping my finger. Don't move your head. You're moving your head. Put your head straight. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> I know. Try. Almost done. All right. Relax. Just listen to this officer. Okay. >> All right. Paige, do you have any issues with uh your balance? Do you have any injuries to your feet or your legs that I should know about? >> No. >> Okay. So, the next step, the next test we're going to do is the onelegged stand test. Okay. Would you like to wear shoes for this? We found flip flops in your car. >> This is insane. Okay, fine. I'll wear mine. >> You could wear You could wear shoes or you could go barefoot. It's up to you. If you'd like to wear shoes, you can put them on. Okay. >> Oh my god. >> I kind of want to marry somebody who's like insane. >> All right. Um, so dumb. >> So here, so onelegged stand test. Okay. So I'm going to explain the test to you. >> The tree pose now. >> It's going to be the onelegged stand test. Okay. I'm going to explain to you. Okay. You understand? >> Yes, bro. >> So starting position for this test is going to be both feet together, arms at your side. Okay. Do you understand that? >> Yes. Okay. Nine step walk and turn. >> Nine step first. >> Yeah. >> All right. We're actually going to do the ninestep walk and turn test first. Okay. >> So, I'm going to explain the test, then you're going to attempt it. Okay. >> You're going to imagine a straight line in front of you. >> Okay. >> Okay. Starting position is going to be your left leg, left foot planted with your right foot in front like this. Okay. You understand that? Okay. Arms at your side. Okay. >> From this starting position, you are going to take nine heel totoe steps. They're going to look like this. Okay. 1 2 3 4 I did four. You will do nine. Okay. Do you understand that? >> Do you understand that the people in this town >> and like >> Can you just Paige? Can you just focus on the test? I'm trying to explain the test. >> So [ __ ] up. >> I know, but I'm trying to explain the test. Okay. >> Okay. >> So, I did four steps. You will do nine. Do you understand that? >> Yeah. On your ninth step, you would take a series of small stop choppy steps >> with your right foot and you will turn around and face that imaginary line. Okay? So again, it's going to look something like this. One, two, three, four. Then you will take a series of small choppy steps. You will turn around and face that line again. >> You will then take another nine steps. Okay? As such. One, two, three, four. Again, I did four steps. You will do nine. Okay. >> After you finish your ninth step, after you turn around, test will be complete. Okay? Do you understand that? >> Okay. Would you like to give it a shot? >> Yep. >> All right. >> One, two, three, four. Then I turn around. >> So So I did four, you will do nine. Okay. >> Oh, I do nine. >> You're going to take heel to toe steps. Okay. >> Imagine a straight line in front of you. You will take nine. >> 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9. >> Yes. >> Just as I do just as I explained. Okay. >> Okay. And then you want to do go back. >> Yes. I explained. Nine steps back. Okay. One, two, three, four, five, six. >> All right. So, uh, last last test is going to be the onelegged stand test. Okay. >> Oh, good. Treat pose. >> Let's do it. >> So, I'm going to explain the test to you. Okay. >> All right. >> You're going to keep both feet together, hands at your side. Okay. Then using either leg, whichever leg you're more comfortable with, >> you're going to raise that leg approximately. >> Paige, are you focusing on Can you listen? We're trying to give you an opportunity to complete these tests. Okay. Can you stand Can you stand right here in front of your vehicle? >> And can you give me your focus so that I can get through this? >> Okay. >> As I said, feet together, arms at your side. Whichever leg is more comfortable, you're going to take that leg and you are going to raise it so that it is approximately 6 in off the ground. You're also going to keep your foot parallel with the ground. Do you understand that? Okay. >> Yeah. >> With your leg raised, you're going to count out loud in the following manner. 1,00 1,002 1,003 so on and so forth until I tell you to stop. Okay. Do you understand that? >> Sure. >> Okay. Do you have any questions regarding this test? >> No. >> I'm trying to give you every opportunity here. Okay. >> Would you like to attempt the test? >> Sure. >> Go ahead. >> Small pause here. If you like these videos, hitting subscribe would mean a lot. We're incredibly close to 100K and your support helps more than you know. >> Is this like a something I should be like I need my lawyer for? No, >> not for the field soiety test. No. >> All right. >> I feel like my body is not >> How long do you need it to be? >> So, I told you you're going to want to count out loud. 1001 10002 10003 so on and so forth until I tell you to stop. Okay. >> All right. But what if I couldn't do that in in general? >> Well, that's why I asked you. Do you have any issues with your legs? Any issue with your balance that I should know about? You told me no. Okay. So, you know, I'm giving you every opportunity here to complete this test. >> Don't [ __ ] do that. Do >> you have these guys issues balancing? >> I mean, [ __ ] >> Could you do a balancing test? He's going to give you another chance. Can you bounce on? >> No, I can't balance. I know. >> You have an injury or something to prevent you from? >> I mean, I do CrossFit, but like I'm >> So, you think you can do a bounce with maybe without the shoes? You want to try taking the shoes real quick? >> I don't I don't want to interrupt. >> The officers are trying to determine if you're going to be arrested for DWI or not. So, if you would like to try to prove them wrong that you're not impaired to to do the test, then do it. But e either way, they have to make a determination. So, if you'd like to do it, do it. If not, then tell them you won't do it. >> What's like the smart thing? >> We're trying to give you every benefit of the doubt. So, I'm going to give you another chance if you want to take your shoes off. >> Oh my god, this is so shitty for like a Westfield like [ __ ] >> So sad. >> You want to give it another try? >> Sure. >> All right. Do you remember how I explained it? >> But I have to do like tree pose. >> Listen to what you >> No. >> Listen. Listen. >> I'm going to explain it one more time. Okay. >> Okay. >> The onelegged stand. It's not complicated. Okay. >> Keep both feet planted. >> Yes. >> Together, arms at your side. That's going to be the starting position. Do you understand? >> Got it. >> Okay. Taking whichever leg is more comfortable for you, you're going to raise that leg so that it is approximately 6 in off the ground. And so that your foot is parallel with the ground. It's going to look something like this. Okay. >> And how long does that have to happen? >> You're going to count out loud in the following manner. 1001 1002 1003 and so on and so forth until I tell you to stop. Okay. You are going to do both of those things simultaneously. The onelegged stand and the counting. Do you understand that? >> Oh my god. >> Do you understand what he said? >> Yeah. So crazy. >> When you're ready, go ahead. >> While while you're doing it, >> don't raise your arms and balance. Keep them at your side. >> What [ __ ] 43year-old woman can do that though? >> You can. >> All right. Fine. While you're doing it, keep your arms at your side. Keep your foot parallel and look at your foot while you're doing it. If you put your foot down, >> how long do I have to go? >> I told you you will count in the following manner. 1,00 1 1,002 1003 and so on and so forth until I tell you to stop. Okay? I've explained that multiple times. >> All right. >> Whenever you're ready. >> You tell me when you're ready. >> Go ahead. You may begin. >> Set a starting moment. >> You may begin.
