a charge on y'all bro I swear to God the
incident report indicates that Eddie
called the non-emergency number six
times in addition to the 8911 calls for
a total of 14 calls to police he was
charged with misuse of emergency
communication resisting without violence
and two counts of threats toward a
public official he is innocent until
proven guilty in a court of law now
everyone has the right to dial 911
however we don't get to abuse it now
it's estimated there are 240 million 911
calls each year in the United States and
although the vast majority of 911 calls
have nothing to do with crime or
violence police are too often dispatched
to respond I remember responding to a
call many years ago on the night shift
about a suspicious person on somebody's
porch now this person was known to call
911 frequently on a daily basis and most
of the time when police responded there
wasn't anything going on so I respond
oned to this location and as usual no
suspicious person was located so the
mail was advised to call 911 if he
observes the person on his property I
made a report and left now this may
surprise you but some people actually
call 911 because they're lonely now it
could be a misdemeanor or felony to
misuse 911 but it depends on how often
the person misus 911 so it's best to
call if you honestly need to on the call
that I responded to the mail actually
called police approximately 7 to eight
times so the sergeant actually had to
advise police dispatch to disregard any
further calls to this address for the
entire evening police are busy
responding to actual calls that need
assistance and if police are tied up on
unfounded or fraudulent calls someone
can get hurt or worse because police are
not available at that particular time
now with this case the man is actually
calling 911 over an issue with his child
however he begins to request for a
different police officer and it does not
work that way and this man was extremely
aggressive and hostile towards police as
soon as they exited the vehicle he was
also hostile towards the dispatcher and
the mother of his own child he didn't
even want to listen or be advised on his
rights as a parent while he was
eventually arrested for misuse of 911
which he did do in some other charges
and he still gave the officers trouble
as they were placing him inside the
vehicle now it might be just me but I
don't even think he learned anything
from this entire incident that's all I
have for this one guys remember to be
