Anthony and grafia with the Hoboken Police Department observed a 2007 kid going the wrong way on First Street and then driving at a high rate of speed and running through multiple red lights on Washington Street northbound they activated their emergency lights and eventually stopped the vehicle at Washington Street between 8th Street and 9th Street as they approach the vehicle they made contact with the driver who was identified as 23-year-old Courtney vasileski along with her 23-year-old passenger hello Hi how are you just know we have body cams recording officer Str police give your license registration Pro of insurance I don't have it on me but I left it at home but I have I have a license at Reg ation okay okay what why why don't you have you don't have what your license no I changed jackets so I left it in the other jacket and that's at home yeah and I just left work at the hatter at the hatter yeah okay I'm just bringing her home okay so you don't have a license on you no but my I have like my license is registered I'm sorry my license is registered your license is registered yes but I don't have it on me okay do you have the registration for the vehicle I just changed it this morning what does that mean my mom went to the motor vehicle this morning and changed over our registration to register this car in my name okay do you have the registration not yet so you have no paperwork in the car that says this I have the old one but it got re-registered this morning okay can you take it out of the paper and your name is Courtney Loi it's under my mother's boyfriend though it's registered to a yes that's your mom's boyfriend yes no that's my mom she must have changed it this morning to the you the insurance for the vehicle I have this receipt this must you drove uh down the wrong way on a oneway street yeah the cop told me that I could just keep going but I made the wrong turn I don't live around here so I get confused with all the one ways so a cop told you to take a take a one way he told to make the right and go home cuz I explained to him that I took the wrong way home okay he just pulled us over and he told us to just make the right and go home so somebody told you to make a right turn there's definely cameras there that say it too there was told us CU I was going down the wrong way but he told me to just make the right and go down that the straight road which was this road can you verify that the another officer um spoke to these females about going down the wrong way on oneway Street uh on the first hson were they in a car what the other officer were they in the yes they were in the car okay pulled you over or what what did they do yes they pulled us over okay and they took all your paperwork and everything too no he didn't take any of our paperwork he pulled over to the side of us and told us to just make a right turn and go down the straight road so be on Washington yes and then you pulled us over sir okay I'm just trying to get home I had a long shift I understand I'm trying to make sure you're okay to be driving no I'm okay sir I swear to God I'm okay okay I'm just going to drop her off to my up the road and then I'm going to go home yeah we just got out of work sir we got out of work at like um 3:30 okay and then we were clean and then we were cleaning up so we could go home okay and you've had no alcohol tonight no not a single drop of alcohol maybe earlier in the night but not since like 10 p.m. okay so if I have somebody come to uh fields of variety test on you you you'll be okay you you'll pass the test I really quick oh him sir you're going to do a DUI on me sorry I just got out of work I just trying to go home understand officer strand asked Courtney for her license registration and insurance but she told him that she did not have her license she initially claimed that she had left her shift at Mad Hatter a sports bar in Hoboken although she would later tell the officers that she worked at a different place as they were interacting with the driver they detected the odor of alcohol and asked Courtney if she had consumed any alcohol Courtney initially denied having consumed alcohol but she would later admit to having to shots earlier that evening based on their suspicion of impairment they called for officer Anthony rosi to come and administer field sobriety exercises but I I want to make sure you're okay to be driving I'm okay okay listen I had like one or two drinks can I can I just pull over the car and Uber home do you believe you're incapable of driving the vehicle safely are you going to give me a DUI that's how to answer my question do you believe your saf I'm fine to drive but if you want me to pull over the car and Uber home I will I want you to be safe you're already driving so so I'll pull over the car and over home I'm not saying you're intoxicated but I'm going to have somebody come they're going to perform tests on you I don't I don't want to do all that okay but it's not up to you it's because I don't want to get in trouble then if you don't believe you should be driving then this was this should have been rectified before you started driving you should have called an Uber before you even got in the car please this to me please if you believe you're safe to be driving then you have nothing to worry about I don't know okay can I just how much have you had to drink two shots okay at what time like an hour ago can I just pull over the car in Uber home no not right now you're already driving everything's up body Cam being recorded So what's going to happen I'm going to have somebody they're going to come perform the test on you if you pass then you get to go if you don't pass you'll be placed under arrest for what do you want and how long will I be in jail for a couple hours so somebody can pick you up please don't do this to me I'll just park in my if you believe you're safe to be driving then you have nothing to worry about that's it can I just go home as soon as somebody comes and performs the test and you pass then you can go home please officer like I I work really hard for every day of my job 31 years see that do you have a photo of I asked my police nobody conf that did he or did he not say we were F to she's saying it too there the officer that pulled us over okay well then they should have pulled you over and had a better conversation with you he told me just to make the right and I'm I don't live around here I live in Wayne so I don't understand all the streets you here you work here so you should be familiar for four walk and turn test Courtney stepped out of line once and did not touch Heel To Toe on each step the final exercise was the oneel leg stand test and Courtney displayed a lack of balance put her foot the field sobriety exercises Courtney was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated her vehicle was impounded for a mandatory 12-hour hold under John's Law Officers rovski and in graphia
