the car tried to claim that I was going to kill him that's not the case I work for the state of Florida I'm not going to do that uh what's his relation to you um we're friends from when we lived back in Connecticut together okay he's down visiting mother he got out of the car I tried to tell him to get back in the car I picked up his Kasa thing that he dropped in the median around a :0 to a.m. on May 18th 2023 Deputy Thomas Newton 3 with the pelis County Sheriff's Office responded to a disorderly conduct call near North Keane Road in coastal place in denan Florida the Coler had advised dispatch that a female subject in a black Dodge Charger was threatening to run him over as Deputy Newton arrived on scene he noticed that a 2020 to Dodge Charger matching the witness description was parked in the shoulder and a visibly impaired female was sitting in the driver's seat the driver was identified as 35-year-old female Melissa at chelski immediately as he approached her vehicle Melissa showed Deputy Newton her badge indicating that she was a corrections officer with the state of Florida I just tried to tell him to get back in the car cuz I want to [ __ ] bring him back to his mothers simple as that I live C of Florida trying what are you doing out in visiting him cuz he's down visiting from Connecticut he's down visiting from Connecticut well he lives in New York now but okay and this is his property oh okay I just wanted to bring him back to his mother we went out to hang out have a good time he decided to get an attitude because some [ __ ] that happened at the bar I don't know I'm not trying to lose my job over this stink odor all right you guys together do not okay I I actually live in New York but I'm down see my mother mother's oh so you're just staying over there with your mom yes sir she came down to visit you yes sir okay and your guys's relation is well we us to have a romantic relationship is this your s this is your oh thank you we used to have romantic relationship we don't anymore okay so we were just together tonight and she told me if I didn't get out she was going to kill me so okay let me see this video dude see what you're talking about here e Melissa advised the deputy that she was the inara from another town in Florida and that the male complainant was visiting from New York she also told the deputy that she had gotten into an argument with him before they were called to the scene the male complainant told the deputy that they had previously been in a romantic relationship no additional charges resulted from this incident however Deputy Newton did suspect that Melissa was impaired so he asked her to exit the vehicle to perform some field sobriety exercises after providing the deputy with some additional information Melissa agreed to do the field sobriety exercises well man' you mind sipping out for me absolutely okay we're just going to walk this way in front of my car so you guys were out downtown Den in or absolutely we were just out having a good time he's down visiting I met him originally in Connecticut he currently lives in New York not a big deal we were out somebody pissed him off at the bar we were arguing about it in the car he told me to pull over I pulled over as was requested so I don't want no problems I work for the state of Florida got you so this my life depends like my job depends on this I got you and he just got AR started calling and I was like just get back in the car like you're going to call the scene and he's like I'm calling the cop it's like you're trying to kill me I was like not even really what I'm trying to do so I he what she said find Talking him right now too so we're going to get that store situated um right now I'm going to check your eyes okay can you see your feet together just like this all right side you can set the bait down if you want abely um just for a record I was recently diagnosed the first exercise was the horizontal Gaye nagus test and Deputy Newton observed a lack of smooth Pursuit distinct and sustained nystagmus at maximum deviation and the onset of nystagmus prior to 45° the second exercise was the walk and turn test during the walk and turn test Melissa took n steps instructed but she used her arms for balanced and turned improperly the third field sobriety exercise was the one leg stand test during the one leg stand test Melissa failed to raise her foot in the prop fashion while displaying a lack of balance I'm just making that clear for you I got you you walked here fine are you are you not able to walk or anything well I'm fine my back is my upper back in Jurassic areas is sore okay but I am under the influence of nioxin which is also in the car okay here for sure it's in the car right so feet together exercises Deputy Newton determined that Melissa was impaired by alcohol and placed her under arrest for driving Under the Influence after Melissa was placed under arrest her vehicle was surged and deputies located a prescription medication in her vehicle her vehicle was impounded by clear water Towing and Melissa was transported without incident to the central breath testing CBT facility at the vellis county jail all right so I'm going to ask you questions regarding what happened before okay but so the questions I'm going to ask could could elicit in criminating response because of that you Danielle jido administered the intoxilizer machine and her results indicated that Melissa was over the legal limit of 0.08% with a back of 0.1 to 7% after a mandatory holding period at the pelis county jail she was released pending her court appearance after Deputy Newton issued her a citation for driving under the influence for
