Nice running. They were either in the Oh, my headset wasn't on. Damn it. But yeah. Anyways, welcome to Perfect Storm Videos, everybody. Wasn't going to stream. I'm going to do a little stream cuz uh I just got monetized. So, I'm just going to do a little celebration stream. But uh yeah, thanks. Couldn't have done it without you guys. Really, really, really freaking awesome. I can't believe it. It's insane. Uh but yeah, we're going to watch uh this one first. This one is woman kills someone in head-on crash then runs for restaurant from Code Blue from Code Blue Camp. >> Um >> nice. Congrats. >> Yeah. Yeah. Thank you, Test Spotter. Appreciate it. Um yeah, I'm really excited. It's super cool. Uh, so yeah, I'm just going to enable everything and then um yeah, but uh probably not a super long stream tonight. I do have to work like a lot tomorrow, so probably going to get off like an hour or something. But yeah, we'll do a short little stream for sure just to celebrate, say hi to everybody. Uh but yeah, pretty short stream tonight for sure. Probably just going to watch a couple couple three videos or something. Uh depending on how long they are. But yeah. All right, let's watch. >> This begins as a vehicle theft complaint, but the woman deputies have just caught is a career criminal with a long history of offenses. And now the horror of what she has just done is about to unfold. >> Nice work, lady. Congratulations. >> You want to just go inside? Oh, that's right. You're the victim, right? I hope you get it. >> I mean, >> it's around 2:10 p.m. on September 7th, 2024. And these King County deputies are in a Washington neighborhood after receiving reports of a car theft from a residence. But by the time the day is over, this report will become just a small part of the larger chaos that is about to unfold. >> Literally right under my nose while uh I was working in that bedroom up there. uh truck is right here. I get a text from my neighbor, you know, saying someone's in your truck or actually said someone went in first. So, it's unclear whether I actually had the the keys in the vehicle or I just had them on my desk there. But either way, literally creeping right under my nose. I I I'm just speechless. >> Okay. So, you were upstairs taking a nap. >> Yeah. >> Truck got stolen. >> Yeah. >> And then you went back went back inside again and no one else is inside. >> No one else is inside. >> Okay. And that was about 10 minutes ago. Yeah. >> Did you see any signs of entry into your house? >> No, cuz the door was open. I mean, I'm literally working on the house in the process of working on it. The the truck the back doors of the truck were open. I immediately got on my shoes and drove in the direction that she said, but it was too late. I didn't see anything, obviously. >> What these deputies don't yet know is that the car thief is no ordinary criminal. It's 33-year-old Nicole Renee Romangh, whose extensive criminal history includes 47 prior arrests, four felony convictions, 25 misdemeanor convictions, three active warrants, a suspended driver's license, and a severe problem that has fueled much of her criminal activity. But what she plans to do today is about to make even that lengthy history seem like just the beginning. >> It's a Chevy Silverado uh 2500 all black. And you you think they took the keys when they stole it? >> Yeah. >> Where were the keys? >> They were either in the vehicle or on uh my desk. >> Look at this specimen. >> And really, I wasn't uh fully asleep because she had already my neighbor texted me about something else before that. >> Hey, beautifuls. >> I was the neighbor who saw the girl. >> You are? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> This morning at 10:30, I was at work and I on my Ring camera, I saw some >> Yo, what's up, Chrissy? How you doing? wasn't going to stream tonight, but I decided to cuz I'm not monetized. Just check it out. >> Walking around my backyard, a guy in all black and a hoodie. So, when I got home on my property to see if anybody broke in or anything. And so I was looking through this window and I saw the girl coming from this way and she looked a little disoriented and it looked like she was going to this house, but then she kind of just slowly turned and was like looking and went to this side and I was like, "This doesn't look right." So I like left the window to go grab my phone and like text him. I was like, "Hey, there's a girl in your property." I was like, "Do you know her?" And then she just slowly like walked in the car, started it. I was like, "She's getting in your car." And I tried to call him and she just drove off. >> For now, the hope is to catch Nicole in the car owner surveillance cameras and get a description out to neighboring counties. But soon, this possibility is going to take a deflating turn. >> There it is. Home. You guys take a look? >> Yeah. Oh. Uh, so there's different cameras. You're just on one of the many cameras. So that's >> So this this car >> There you go. >> So that's your neighbor. >> Yeah. >> Where's the car supposed to be? right there. Right where she is. >> It's already gone, right? >> Yeah. So, there's [snorts] no video before that. >> Why does it catch everything yesterday and not today? That's unbelievable. >> Yeah. I'll let you go through. Uh if that changes, just give us a call. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> It only catches you guys afterwards. Figure out. >> No way. I could see her pulling off though on my ring. >> See, she's leaving with his truck. >> Yeah. I looked through all his cameras. He doesn't have [sighs] >> good to see you and and storm puts. >> Yo, what's up? What's up, pet? >> Funny thing. So, he doesn't need a link. And then she just showed me her grainy video that it just shows the car waiting. Yeah, I'll I'll take it anyways. Yeah. >> But by this time, Nicole had already started driving around cities in Thirstston County in search of what she had really stolen the car for. Over an hour later, around 3:40 p.m., a resident in the area called the county emergency line to report that a scaryl looking woman had entered his house looking to buy. Even after he asked her to leave, she continued looking through his garage [music] and vehicle windows before driving away in a newer black pickup truck. But before [music] deputies could follow up on this lead, another more concerning call came in just 15 minutes later. A woman reported that Nicole had entered her garage asking for. [music] And when she asked her to leave, Nicole became agitated and tried to hit her with a truck before driving away. >> Stop right there, cuz I don't want you to come in. I don't know you. >> You wouldn't know where uh you're getting, would you? The truck's description from both callers matched the description given by the owner who reported the theft with Nicole behaving erratically and appearing desperate to get [music] thirst county deputies immediately began surveilling the surrounding areas for the vehicle and soon one of them is going to [music] spot the truck setting off a chase that Nicole is not going to give up easily. Pacific Avenue. Uh, we got cleared all the traffic on Pacific. Finally, we're going to be about 90 mph. Advisy. See if someone gets a bike. Coming up to Silicon Pacific. >> Copy. See if approaching Silicon Pacific. >> WTF? She just walked up to random lady's house to ask for fetty or was she like set up? >> No, she was just walking up to random people. You know where I can get some ventil. Get the [ __ ] out of my hair. >> Oncoming lane before I even picked it up. Just blew a tire and full drive signs are blown through the green lights. 50 mph medium traffic. Is this Thirstston County, Washington? >> I'm not passing coverage. >> Coming up to this next round here. Looks like trying to pass cars in between a few roundabout ways. Yeah, she's >> insane. >> Despite the spikes hitting the truck only minutes into the chase, they have almost no effect on Nicole, who continues driving recklessly at high speeds with no regard for human life on the busy roads. And even when things seem to turn in their favor, it won't be enough to deter Nicole's desperation to escape. >> 60 mph coming up to St. Martin. Go westbound Pacific. >> Pacific approaching San is starting to smoke everywhere. Probably from the tires going up the red light at college. >> It looks like it could be Washington. >> Might be. >> 89 on Slater Kenny out of the way. just pulled out in front of me. So, I'll take over. >> 89's on Slater. Kenny, I'll try to pick it up. >> Oh my god. >> Holy crap. I drive through there. X.X. I recognize the street names. >> Kenny. >> Oh, yes. Leader Kenny. It is >> 89 blue light. Yeah. >> Like Olympia just had another good spike, but we're not slow at 80 mph. >> Same. >> We had a good spike 80 mph still 59. Just head on. Phone's rug. Phone's rugged. >> Exactly. >> She's running. >> Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow. >> You okay? >> God. >> Ow. Ow. Why are you doing that? You should have stopped following me. God hash at least close to that hospital there. [groaning] >> You weren't supposed to. >> The way she fell. OMG, I'm diy. >> No, you can't. >> Yes, we can. >> No, you can't. >> AS law changed in June. >> While it may seem like the frustrating cat and mouse chase has finally come to an end, it has come at a heavy price as responding deputies watch the horror unfold before them. Before coming to a halt, Nicole had struck a carrying three people. 70-year-old Gina Ma, her sister Barbara, and Barbara's husband Bruce Clark, [music] who had arrived in town to celebrate Barbara's birthday with the family. But now, as deputies, >> I need that on reply. That's realized that Nicole has left behind far [music] more damage than they ever anticipated. >> You guys check the car? >> No, we did not check on that guy. >> Oh no. Oh, that's freaking sad. Oh my god, >> bro. I'm surprised I'm surprised they're allowed to put that on YouTube, dude. That's [ __ ] >> Thought you said you weren't going live. >> I wasn't going to, but I'm monetized, so I wanted to check out the monetization stuff, but it's going to be a short stream. Probably like an hour or something, dude. That's [ __ ] crazy, man. >> I can't believe they could show that on YouTube. Oh, >> you won. But look what she did, bro. >> Sister Barbara and Barbara's >> walk over. She can't >> blood and [ __ ] dude. What the [ __ ] >> Over there in front of the business. She say she >> Anyways, whatever. >> When you got >> Okay, >> want to mute the jackass so I can hear what to say. >> Checked out and says she can't walk. She's probably going to be like third in line from these people. >> I need to be caught up. What happened? >> She does want to be checked out, but >> you weren't monetized before. >> Just ran somebody over. >> This is going to be priority. >> Good deep breaths. Okay. >> For your birthday, huh? >> When did this happen? >> Right by my neighborhood. >> I don't know. >> Suspect vehicle. This car. >> No, this >> and 2024. Th >> This is who they head on. So, they're going to be the main priority for fire. >> She's leaning there on them. Uh she both uh the male and the female on the ground. She's having a hard time breathing. >> The the suspect, she's over there in front of the business. She says she can't walk, but she's >> way in better shape than these people. >> He came and I cut into the gas station. I just jumped the curb, did what I had to do. I'm in the blue truck right there. >> While Barbara and Bruce are conscious and responding to [music] the deputy's questions, the same cannot be said for Gina, who has passed out from the crash and requires immediate medical attention. But to Nicole, none of this seems to matter as she >> Shane. So what's cool is you can go watch this exact video on silence and uninterrupted right here on YouTube >> to turn on your lights. >> Nah, Shane only times for 10 seconds. >> I'm Yeah, I'm in charge. You guys are supposed to turn on my off your lights and stop following me and that wouldn't have happened. >> Can you walk for me? >> I can't. >> What hurts? >> Everything. I need my wallets, too. My wallet is right there. >> Not worried about that right now. But I am Why are you opening it? >> See who you are. >> I didn't give you permission to open it. >> There's a wallet, too. A male. >> It's going to have Is it going to have your stuff in it? >> Yeah. >> Somebody over here. >> No, there's a black one right here. >> I'm talking about the brown one. >> I know which one you're talking about. >> So, it's whatever's comfortable for you. Okay. >> Keep talking to me. >> Yep. Keep talking to me. >> He shouldn't have pursued me. >> Stay talking. Nice. Take good. Nice deep breaths. Okay. Stand with her. >> Yeah. Shane, be cool. Walk over. It was probably down and stuff. Searcher, you got anything on you in your pockets or anything like that? Obviously, you're not wearing a whole lot. Can we check that? We're going to check that pocket real quick >> yet. It's cool here. No need for that. >> Oh, my back hurts. >> Your back hurts? Okay. Can we chat with you for a minute? >> Sure. >> So, the three of you were in this car, it sounds like. >> Yes. >> Okay. Where were you sitting in the car? >> Driving. >> You were driving. Who is that to you? >> That's my wife. >> Is that your wife? Same last name? >> Yes. >> And the other lady in the car, what's her last name? Is she a friend? >> Her sister. >> Her sister. Okay. And where was she sitting? >> Waiting for them to pull out open container out of her car. >> Oh yeah. >> No need for what? >> Her right leg back and forth. >> Shane, you're welcome to go watch this alone without us awesome people. >> That's probably why uh >> I don't know whatever I was talking about. Whatever. >> That's probably why she didn't want him to look through the wall. There's probably drugs in there. I'm pretty sure they have her in there and they're all working on her right now >> at Bonnie for Shane to be rude like that. >> Check out space and injur they we went up to give him her name and they said >> deputies would later discover >> can you please turn off the comment auto reading please Washington along with a record heavily involving repeated property and related crimes including identity theft, motor vehicle theft and petty theft. In fact, she had at least three prior charges for driving with a suspended license before this crash. But to Nicole, none of that seemed to matter. In her mind, she should be let out because the deputies were never supposed to pursue her. >> I'll sit with her. >> Hi. >> Yeah, absolutely. >> Nice work. >> But she stole that truck, didn't she? Hey, what's up, big pursued me? >> Maybe you shouldn't have Hey, >> they shouldn't have their life. They should have >> You want to just go inside? >> You want to just go inside? hurt other people. >> No, I didn't. >> Oh, that's right. You're the victim, right? You're the victim. Please go inside. >> I was saying the wallet was probably robed. Not trying to offend anybody that y'all can run your YouTube channels how you want to. >> That's your [clears throat] truck. That's your truck. >> Feel free to go do or >> answer. Is that your truck? >> Please don't ask Storm to turn off comments or to be quiet. >> Charges. >> All love here. >> I'm not the only one. Obviously, >> Jackass just lost a viewer. >> Wish you well. No, I'm not a piece of >> Sounds like they're very familiar with this lady. >> I'm saying I shouldn't have been arrested. I You guys shouldn't have followed. This should have never happened is what I'm saying. So, the handcuffs should come off and I should walk away. >> Yep. Well, that's your dream world. That's not real. >> That's not a dream world. >> Well, it's not what's going to happen. So, >> yes, that is what's going to happen. >> Doesn't look like it. >> Yeah. >> Guess she's the one I ripped out of the shoes. Uh, she kind of ripped >> a great night. over here. >> I don't like the auto reading either. >> It's extremely annoying and I can't hear what's going on. >> Is the suspect? >> Yes, >> she's over there with that officer. Uh female in the back seat of the car that this hit head on. Uh >> she's bad, bleeding out the mouth, leg, arm, all damaged. Uh her leg kind of looks like a slinky. The driver bruised his hand. The passenger >> some crazy drug addict ran somebody over. that was sitting. >> She's a bad girl. >> Seat seat belt made a nice bruise across her front. Wasn't wearing a seat belt. >> Are you even aware that many don't even know they can control that auto reading? >> What's good? Just say y can't multitask. >> This backside isn't locked open. >> I agree with that. Auto talking it's annoying. >> So what? Scroll to the next video if you don't like it. His is up. He was riding. >> Is it locked? >> His locked out. She wasn't wearing hers. Am I going to ride with them? No. I'm gonna probably either one of me or one of >> Autorest are not definitely not free to go. So, I don't know what dream world you're living in, but it's not mine. >> Don't comment then three. >> Yeah, really. Well, you're in a stolen vehicle. >> How y'all get your comments? >> A whole bunch of damage and injuries to somebody else. I use a website called >> driving, weren't we? >> Surprised how well the car was actually like that. She was still driving >> annoyed by replies continues to reply. >> Like a meme, lol. Mama, >> I hate it. I'm going to make it happen more. >> Dan, yes. >> He's a wizard. She ran out of her shoes. >> This isn't her car. If the owner gave us permission to search, we would still do that. >> Doesn't do. >> Where is this? >> Magic was the best answer. Lo >> Barbara suffered broken ribs and broken vertebrae while her husband Bruce also suffered a broken vertebrae. Despite these severe injuries, both survived the crash. Unfortunately, >> broken back, bro. That's horrible. >> Same could not be said for Gina, who succumbed to her injuries following the head-on collision. But despite the life lost and the serious injury she caused, Nicole continues to stand by her statement even when she has given a chance to change her attitude. >> Nicole, how you doing? My name is Detective Pratt. I'm with the Washington State Patrol. How you feeling? >> I don't understand. >> Fizzle whizzle. My dizzle recorded right now. Okay. >> What you eating? >> You're in custody right now. >> OMG, she killed someone. >> I already advise you. You're under arrest. >> No, I was to not be arrested. >> Who told you that, >> bro? I'm just going to hold on to the knife for right now. All right. Put it right here. >> All right. So, uh, we got our partner shut down the highway up there. You want to keep it shut down for a I think we can probably open up the right shoulder as long as paramedics and that one can move over just to the side. >> I already too. >> Okay. >> And then we already caught the toe on our way. Nine heel toe up. Small steps to turn your step around. Nine heel toe steps down. It's going to look just like this. I'm going to demonstrate. >> Why do you ask me this? >> Because you said you were willing to do voluntary road sides. >> I did not ask you that. >> I did. >> Do you not want to do voluntary roadsides anymore? >> Sitting here. >> Do you not want to do voluntary roadsides anymore, >> sir? Yes or no? That's all I need. >> If I say no, what happens? >> Well, we're going to have to come to a conclusion. I need a conclusion of this whole thing. >> A conclusion. >> Okay. Do you want to do volunteer roads or not? Yes or no? >> I'm sitting here. Are you I'm done talking about >> this. Do you want to do volunteer outside or not? >> [ __ ] I was muted. I said I got a salad cuz some [ __ ] told me to eat a salad. So, I thought this would be funny. So, here's the salad. You [ __ ] piece of [ __ ] If I have to ask one more time, I'm going to take it as a refusal. What does that mean? That you're going to be placed. You're just going to be placed under arrest. You're placed under arrest for do you want? >> You can try to argue in court all you want that say you didn't do voluntary road sides and then you agreed to it, but I have it on body cam that you agreed to do voluntary road sides. >> I have a right to do All right. >> You have a right now to be arrested. That's what your right is. for you as well. >> That's for you to argue with the court, not with me right now. Actually, if if you want me two pets, I will. >> You're good. >> The initial offender, 33-year-old Elliot, wasn't hit by another car. He spun out and crashed his vehicle into the guardrail while driving drunk. However, the second offender, 24-year-old Benjamin, was texting while driving and was extremely high. He didn't notice the fire truck blocking the left shoulder of the highway until the last moment and swerve directly into it, hitting three first responders. He was traveling at approximately 60 mph when he struck them, sending Ryan, the firefighter, flying. >> The channel is monetized. I know he was pretty upset. >> While Officer Buckner walked away with relatively minor harm, Officer Cabania had sustained much more severe injuries, but was discharged from the hospital soon after. Firefighter Ryan, though, wasn't nearly as fortunate. He suffered life-threatening trauma to both legs, his head, ribs, and jaw. He underwent multiple surgeries and spent two years recovering before he could return to work. In his statement to the judge, he said he had learned a lot during his recovery and had forgiven Benjamin for what he had done to him. However, he continued to struggle mentally and regularly had nightmares about the accident, eventually leading him to get rid of his gun for his family's safety. Ryan had served 12 years in the fire department and had two kids. To help support his family, the firefighter community along with the MC1 Foundation came together to help him through the 2 years of excruciating recovery. The first offender, Elliot, was charged with DUI and careless driving. His BAC was 0.172, well above the legal limit, >> but he didn't get anywhere near as much as the guy actually hit the people >> of 008. Consequently, his driver's license was suspended and he was given a temporary 7-day permit. He was later released to his father that same day. There's no information available regarding his sentencing, but if found guilty, he could face up to one year in jail, a one >> he got out of jail. $1,000 fine, 96 hours of community service, and a 9-month license suspension. Meanwhile, Benjamin was charged with two counts of vehicular assault and three counts of thirdderee assault of a first responder. He was sentenced to 4 years in prison, followed by 3 years of parole. During the trial, he expressed his deepest remorse for what he had done. The judge acknowledged his emotions, but firmly maintained that they could not erase the trauma of that night, which the victims had to deal with on a daily basis. He's sitting alone on a fenced off lot when a single officer pulls up to move him along. >> How's it going, boss? You've been staying there for a while. What's that? >> You're the one who called? I didn't call. >> Huh? I didn't call you. What happens in the next 30 seconds will brutally injure that officer, force one stranger [music] to risk his own life trying to save a man he's never met, and leave investigators chasing a terrifying possibility about what actually happened. >> How was he shot? >> He does have a gas station in the back of his head. We don't know if he shot or not. >> I saw the officer fall to the ground and by that point I heard her. He grabbed my gun, started running over here, and I yelled, "Hey, stop." >> But before any of before the detective, the ER, and the truth, no one approaching that lot has any idea who this man really is. >> Just stay. Stay right. Step back. >> Step back. Step back. Step back. Step back. [ __ ] On Sunday, February 11th, 2024, Jim, a property owner in Los Cusus, New Mexico, called police about a man trespassing at a commercial property on South Valley Drive. He'd been dealing with problems there for some time. People had vandalized the property, left discarded needles behind, and entered through holes cut into the surrounding fence. No trespassing signs had been posted throughout the area, making it clear that nobody was supposed to be there without permission, [music] but Jim's friend noticed a man on the property acting suspicious. >> I was doing like karate or something. >> Shadow boxing. He's just vibing. >> At approximately he's fighting demons, >> Jim called police. But the information given to dispatch suggested nothing more dangerous than a routine trespassing complaint. [music] 6 minutes later, Los Cusus Police Officer Jonah Hernandez arrived alone. Within seconds, the routine trespassing call would turn into the most tragic incident in the Los Cusus Police Department's 96-year history. Oh, sorry. I forgot to read it. Moments before killer secret killer brutally executes cop by detective Williams. It's the last one by the way. >> 1997. >> Last video. I mean really short stream day cuz I got work early and it's like all damn day. >> How's it going boss? >> You've been staying here for a while? What's up? >> This is my place. >> Is this your place? So, you're the one who called. >> You're the one who called. >> I didn't call. >> Huh? >> With his body camera still rolling, Jonah managed to crawl a few feet away, but the wound to his neck was causing him to lose blood rapidly. He was barely able to move, let alone reach his radio and call for help. But what the attacker didn't know was someone nearby had already seen what was happening. 29-year-old Army veteran Isaiah Atorga watched the attacker standing over the wounded officer and immediately decided to step in. The are you the are you? >> Huh? Not even real. Huh? >> Hey, you're not even real. You want to go down too? [groaning] Holy. >> Hey, drop it. >> Officer. Hey. Hey. Where are you bleeding? >> [ __ ] rough [ __ ] >> Yeah, I I shot him like three or four times. He stabbed in the neck really bad. >> Where's the radio? Where's the radio? >> Right here. Right here. >> No. >> See, brother Chris PD. >> No, he's bleeding really bad. He was stabbing. >> Oh, brother. Brother, please stay with us, man. >> Hey, >> stay with us, man. >> I need his radio, man. >> He's He's got a really bad right in the neck right where my hand is. >> Officer down. Officer down. >> Wherever you at. >> Another passer by, former federal officer Steuart Torres, saw Isaiah trying to control the bleeding from Jonah's neck and rushed over to help. Drawing on his previous experience, Torres's instincts kicked in the second he got to the parking lot. He grabbed Jonah's police radio and sent out the call. >> The good guy with the gun was actually there, bro. >> All every officer dreads hearing. >> Officer down. Officer down. >> Too bad it didn't save him, though. This [ __ ] is like the stupidest [ __ ] [ __ ] ever. Just [ __ ] [snorts] randomly stab some cop, dude. What a [ __ ] idiot, dude. Immediately as Torres sent out the distress signal, every officer in the city began racing towards South Valley Drive. At the same time, Isaiah's girlfriend, Ariselli Hernandez, was speaking to 911 and describing Jonah's injuries. >> Hey, maybe if you smoke meth, don't carry a [ __ ] knife around, bro. >> But the wound to his neck was severe, and every second they waited for help meant more blood lost. >> [screaming] >> Put him on the side. Put him on the side. >> Kning your boobies. >> I'm trying. I'm trying. It's >> How do you smoke me? That's the question. >> It's right where my arm is. Are you ready? >> All right. Ready? Let go. >> And his back of the head. It's like slowing >> right here. Jonah. All right. Jonah. Jonah. >> We have a male down. >> Hey, someone help me over here. >> What do you need? What do you need? >> Let's take his vest. Give me some cloth. Quick hunt. Come on, Jon. I'm right here. All right. Where's his weapon? >> Hey, check. He's dead, bro. >> Got some pressure. We're going to wrap it underneath. >> I got the this right here. Okay, hold pressure here. I've got pressure here. >> You guys for the back of his neck. He's breathing from the mouth. >> Come on, Jonah. I'm right here, dude. Jonah, >> it's okay, man. >> Jonah. >> Hey, we're wrapping around his neck. Hold pressure on the back of the wound, >> too. This one right here. >> Okay, this one from this way. >> Come on, Jonah. Jonah. Jonah, wake [screaming] up, dude. >> Jonah, dude, you have a >> Jonah. [ __ ] Jonah. Isaiah had stopped the attack, but the officers arriving on the scene were about to face a sickening reality. Because they were bound by US law to save everyone they possibly could, they now had to help both Jonah and the man who had just tried to hurt him. >> This is my boyfriend's gun that he used to shoot him. >> Hey, 91. We have a male down. Uh, and >> we need fire. Uh, expedite. [screaming] >> At this point, the officers still had no idea who the attacker was. >> But as they turned him over, Araceli was about to realize the answer was far closer to home than anyone [music] expected. >> Just Just stay where stay. Step back. >> Step back. Step back. Step back. Step back. >> Right here. Hey, go go go shut those sirens off. >> The man Isaiah had just shot was Aracelli's own cousin. >> Oh god. >> 29-year-old Armando Silva Jr. Somehow, the stranger they had risked their lives to stop was someone she had known all along. There was no time for Aricelli to process what she had just discovered. Paramedics arrived moments later and began preparing both Jonah and Silva for emergency transport. He's going to view escort up here. Brick umbrella. >> Escorted. >> Yeah. >> Looking escorted to you. >> Yeah. >> Ready? >> Okay. I'm just going to go. >> I just go. >> We're not close. Hold on. Hold on. >> I don't want to wake up. >> All right. Let's close him. >> We're not ready. >> Where was he shot? >> Was not shot. Looks like it was a laceration. >> He does have a laceration in the back of his head. >> We don't know if he shot or not. >> What do you guys need help with? >> Uh, he suction right there. Do you know how to bag him? >> Yeah. >> You want those? >> No, it's too late, man. Yeah. Can you bag him? We don't have >> Yeah, we do. >> Valley. >> Yep. Ready? Go. >> Come on, Jonah. >> Like that every second. >> Come on, Jonah. >> Yeah. Is that real fast? >> We don't know if he was shot or a stab. >> Yeah, we don't know. >> This is where things got complicated. It seemed like officer Jonah had a gunshot wound in the back of his head, but Silva attacked him with a knife, not a gun. But the nature of his injuries could be looked at later. Right now, the only priority was to get him into the emergency room as fast as possible to save him. [music] phone number. >> What's Jonah's wife? >> The officers escorting Jonah were among his closest friends, [music] but the only thing they could do was wait for an update from the doctors. Back at the crime scene, the reality of what had happened was beginning to sink in. >> Are they going north or south, dude? >> I don't know yet. I don't know yet. >> I don't know yet. >> Okay. However difficult it was, the scene still had to be secured, the evidence preserved, and every witness interviewed. Detectives needed to understand how a routine trespassing call had turned so violent within seconds, and no one had seen more of it than Isaiah Atoga. >> So, I'm Detective Mandes. My name is Oscar. This is uh the other detective, man. Um, can I start with your name, sir? >> Isaiah Stoga. >> And how did you end up here today? >> So, [snorts] my girlfriend works at Karen's uh animal house, which is down the street. >> Okay. >> And I picked her up around 4:30, and we're supposed to go to Super Bowl party, and I had to go to Walmart to pick stuff up. So, I actually had came down to Lman and I'd [snorts] seen a guy here at the building and Jim, [music] which is the guy with the hat over there next to light. He owns this property and I worked with him a lot here. He told me he's had issues >> with uh homeless people here. And >> this is crazy. Let me know if he if I see anybody. >> What's up, Kobe? How you doing? >> I did. and I drove around a bunch of times because I knew he was going to call the cops. So I drove around [music] to the railroad tracks and would turn around and I one point parked in here and the majority of my parking was in this uh with the trailer uh where the trailer homes right here. Okay, >> that was my most of the time where I spent and I took pictures and videos of him here and stuff and I saw him lighting the fire and stuff. So, I was just updating him and I actually sent one video to my friend Vic cuz he he owns or rents this side of the building right here. >> Okay. >> So, as I was waiting, I saw him possibly leaving what I thought. So, when I left that parking lot, came down, went back down to the railroad tracks, turned around, and I saw two guys uh walking the ditch, and I thought that might have been him cuz he's wearing flat. So, from that distance, I actually saw him walking back to this building. So, I thought, well, no, he's still here. By [snorts] then, I saw the officer had just rolled up in parked. I I don't know which one's his. Probably the one with the lights off. And I decided to [music] park right there. That's uh my car, the black one. >> Yeah, it's a 2014 Nissan Versus. As soon as I parked, I saw the officer walking towards uh this [snorts] guy and it turns out it's actually my girlfriend's cousin. His name is AJ. As soon as he was walking up to him, I saw AJ running at him and attacking the officer. I didn't see the knife at first. I thought he was just punching him. Well, I saw the officer fall to the ground. And by that point, I heard he grabbed my gun and started running over here and I yelled, "Hey, stop." And he looked at me and I saw the officer with a lot of blood right here and it was >> gushing just gushing out. And so he started coming at me. So I fired on him twice. >> Crazy there. >> I believe it was twice. and really didn't see face my first line. He kind of fell down and he started to get up and I noticed the officer again just still gushing blood and so at that point I fired another round cuz he was getting back up and I saw him drop to the ground and so I started running to the officer and didn't know if he was going to get back up or not. So I actually ran back to him, ran back to officer, ran back to him and they didn't know what to do. So I ran back to AJ, noticed that the knife was that was the first time I saw the knife that the knife was away and he wasn't moving. So I went to this officer that's when I noticed the gash in his neck. So I put pressure on his neck. So I [snorts] uh so I was holding pressure on his neck and at this point he uh >> there's another guy um that guy in front of his car on his phone he actually came [music] up with his gun drawn and [snorts] by then my girlfriend was already up here and she was telling him I was helping and I could feel that he had it was like abnormal in the back of his head. I it turns out he was slashed but I kept trying to rotate his head uh cuz he was coughing up [snorts] blood. I didn't want him to choke and I [music] was kind of struggling to turn him to the side but I was trying to maintain that pressure and so I asked him to help me help me and by then an officer came running up and so when he grabbed his gauze we ended up switching. That's kind of it. But by then all the officers came and so far >> the fact that Isaiah didn't know Silva was armed with a knife showed that he didn't even know the danger he was jumping into when trying to help. But as he continued talking, he was about to realize his attempt to help may have come with an unintended consequence. >> Um, did the officer say anything to him? I didn't hear anything because my windows were hold and we're in that distance. But when I yelled at him to stop, he did yell at me and I don't know what he said. >> Okay. I'm not sure. I think I'm pretty positive my third round had hit him. >> Okay. >> But for a moment I was terrified that I missed and actually hit the officer, but he fell [snorts] down to the ground and didn't move. So I I'm pretty positive that hit him or else unless the second one hit. I >> Isaiah was an Army veteran, but nothing could have prepared him for how quickly this happened. Only a few seconds passed between Jonah greeting Silva and Silva plunging the knife into him. Isaiah had reacted almost entirely on instinct, and with his adrenaline still running high, he hadn't even realized he had fired four rounds. Now, with Jonah still fighting for his life, no one could yet say where every bullet had gone. But as they hoped he would pull through, the detectives moved over to Araceli to find out more about Silva and what might have triggered him to do what he did. >> And you said that AJ is your cousin. >> Yes. >> Okay. What's his history? >> Um, so he does deal a lot with uh mental health issues. Uh, he does have a [music] history of drug abuse. He is I mean me and Isaiah have seen him on [snorts] the streets. We we picked him up. We've taken taken him out to eat. He [music] just doesn't. He's not okay. >> Drug abuse. What do you do? Do you know what drugs he uses or assume that he used? >> Um, from what I know, heroin, [snorts] meth, spice. I think it started with spice. >> And then mental health is do you know anything that he's been fully diagnosed with? What? >> I believe he was diagnosed with >> spice. >> I want to say bipolar. >> I'm going to buy some death sticks. This is the first time the detectives heard what might have been going on inside Silva's head at the time of the attack. It also explains the words he said to officer Jonah right after he stabbed him. But that's just part of what the detectives were trying to understand here. >> When was the last time you saw him before today? >> Oh gosh. I want to say maybe like summer fall of 2023. >> Okay. The last I heard of him, I just My grandma pays half of his rent so he can have them. So he's not out on the streets. >> You don't know his address? >> I I want to say it's on Picacho, >> but you don't know for sure. >> I don't know for sure. >> Okay. And your your your grandma's the one that's that helps him pay? >> My grandma and his mom, which is my aunt has his >> Okay. taken care of. There was no reason for him to be living out on the streets. But he still chose to do so. And had Isaiah, Arai, and Torres not been there that afternoon, there may have been no one capable of stopping him after he attacked Jonah. But while they were successful in stopping Silva in time, things at the hospital had taken a turn for the worst. [snorts] Oh, it goes through. >> Is this all one? >> I know. That's >> the doctors tried everything they could, but Jonah's injuries were too severe for him to survive. By then, word of the attack had spread throughout Los Cusus, and his family had already >> You been smoking spice? I don't recommend it. >> reached the hospital. Jonah's wife and two young sons had lost their husband and father. But even after officer Jonah Hernandez was pronounced dead, one agonizing question remained unanswered. In the chaos, Isaiah had fired four rounds at Silva while the two men were still dangerously close to Jonah. Investigators now had to determine exactly what had killed the officer, Silva's knife, or one of the bullets fired by the man who had stepped in to save him. And until they knew, there was an awful possibility hanging over everyone involved. But once the autopsy was completed, there was no longer any doubt about what had happened. Officer Jonah had suffered 14 sharp force injuries, both stab wounds and deep cuts. The fatal injury was a devastating wound to his neck. The examination found no gunshot wounds anywhere on his body. Isaiah's bullets had never struck him. Jonah had died entirely from the injuries inflicted by Armando Silva. Silva had been struck after [snorts] Isaiah fired four rounds at him. He was transported from the scene as emergency crews fought to save Jonah, but Silva was pronounced dead on arrival. Isaiah Atoga and his girlfriend Araceli Hernandez survived the attack, but the weight of what happened stayed with them long after that night. In October 2025, more than 240 officers, relatives, and first responders gathered as the Wounded Blue honored them for their courage. Both received the organization's highest civilian distinction, recognizing those who risk their own lives in an attempt to save a police officer. Isaiah had been unable to bring Jonah home to his family, but the autopsy confirmed that his decision to intervene had stopped Silva without >> That's kind of crazy. She got an award for giving her boyfriend a gun to [ __ ] kill her cousin. What the hell? That's what should happen. >> Causing Jonah any further harm. All right, guys. I really need to go to bed.
